(only if you have the Vita version) Glitched Trophies: N/A Does difficulty affect trophies?: No difficulty related trophies Do cheat codes disable trophies: N/A Introduction: Jak and Daxter is one of the best PS2 games of all time, and now it comes to join us on PS3. It is a fairly easy game, but one of the most fun games you will ever have the privilege of playing. The original came out in 2001, and now, 11 years later, we see it again, revamped with trophies and a brand new glistening platinum. Only one playthrough is necessary for this platinum, and any gamer would be at a huge loss if they missed this game. Step 1 (New Game): Play through the main story. Don't worry too much about doing side quests. Simply enjoy yourself and don't worry about collecting anything, you can come back and do everything later. If you have a the Vita version of this game then "Hand Over Fish" and "Hungry?" are missable as the controls have been changed. If you go to every area and try and get all trophies, you will have earned the following trophies after this step. If you do not have all these trophies, see Step 2: Open Sez Me Yee Haw! Black Thumb Shiny Happy Steeples Hand Over Fish Gimmee That! Eggs Over Hard Pop Goes the Lurker Tonight's Featured Event Zoom! Catch as Catch Can Green Thumb Purple Pain I Got the Blues Speedy Fast Twist and Shout Hungry? The Lead Zeppelin Zoom Zoom! De-Klawwed Kerblamm! It’s Dark in Here It’s Cold Out Here Zoom, Zoom, Zoom! Set Me Free! No, Set Me Free! Hey, Set Me Free! Set Me Free Already! Battle Hardened ** All of these trophies will be left inside spoilers, as many of them are following side quests that have a story line progression. ** Step 2: Go back and mop up everything you didn’t complete before. Finish any trophies you didn't grab from Step 1 in your first playthrough. Collect all the power cells, scout flies, and precursor orbs. It will be very difficult for you to complete the campaign without getting most of these, but the non-campaign related trophies are: Power Lunch Power Chords Maximum Power! Buzzin’ Buzzed Totally Buzzed Out! The Orbist The Orberator The Super Orberator Edited December 22, 2023 by Viper Replaced a missing banner. DKsDragon
Trophy Guide Top of the Heap You have mastered the game and collected all there is to collect! Obtain all other trophies. Open Sez Me Open the Precursor Door Story Related and cannot be missed. Spoiler You will reach a door on the first island which is closed with a blue circle above it. The sage will explain that you need blue eco to get through the door. Turn to the right to see a blue eco vent. Run over and fill yourself with energy, then run back to the door and it will open. Yee Haw! Herd the Yakows into their Pen Spoiler You will find a farmer just outside Sandover Village. He will ask you to herd his Yakows into their pen. Simply walk behind them, and they will walk in front of you. Lead all five Yakows into the pen to finish the quest. Once a Yakow is in the pen, it will not leave. I found it was better to start off by smacking them to get their attention. After the first punch though, it is no faster to attack than to just walk behind them. Black Thumb Defeat the Dark Eco Plant Story Related and cannot be missed. Spoiler This is the first boss fight. It is located in Forbidden Temple, after you have gained access to the temple through the precursor door in the jungle. It is extremely simple: 1. The boss will lunge at you repeatedly, attempting to eat you. Stay around the edge of the circle so that you do not get eaten, or damaged. 2. The boss will spawn small green bugs that will walk towards you. They will be invincible at first. 3. When the bugs retract the spikes on their back, you can then damage them. Kill all the bugs. 4. When all the bugs are dead, the boss will point its head straight up and two leaves will sprout out of its stem. 5. Jump up the two leaves and punch the boss. 6. Repeat three times and the boss is finished! NOTE: After defeating the boss, jump on its head 5 times, this will reward you with 5 precursor orbs. These are obviously extremely difficult to miss. Shiny Happy Steeples Connect the Eco Beams Spoiler In the Forbidden Jungle, near the Temple, you will find a machine with a beam of light heading into it. Jump on top of the machine and break the extension that is capturing the light. A tower will rise beside the platform you are on. Jump down to the base of the tower, and then use the action button () to realign the beam so that it hits the next mirror. Follow the beams around until the beam is pointing in the Mayor’s windmill. Follow the beam to the windmill and talk to the mayor for a power cell and the trophy. Hand Over Fish Catch 200 Pounds of Fish Spoiler You will find a fisherman in Forbidden Jungle. He will ask you to catch 200 pounds of fish for him. This will begin a mini-game in which you lie down on the dock and dangle your net in the water to catch fish. There is a total of 220 pounds of fish, so be careful not to miss many. The yellow fish are worth 5 pounds each, while the greens are only 1 pound. Be careful not to catch any eels. If you catch even one, you will have to restart the mission. Completing this gives you access to the fisherman's boat in Sandover Village, allowing you to travel to Misty Island. Vita Version: Asher1985 said: With Hand Over Fish, you just need to slide your finger across the touchscreen to move the net, instead of . Credit to Asher1985 for the Vita info. Gimmee That! Get the Power Cell from the Pelican Spoiler You will see a power cell right in the open in Sentinal Beach. When you approach it, a Pelican will swoop down and eat it. Head over to its nest, on a small island in the water, and punch the bird. This will cause it to spit the power cell. Chase it down quickly to get it before the Pelican swoops it up again. Some tips: Use the waterwheel to get up to land faster. If you are still having difficulties, get some blue eco from a nearby vent before hitting the bird (this option is only available if you have first opened the blue eco vent in Forbidden Forest). This will allow you to move faster and make getting to the power cell first just that much easier. Eggs Over Hard Push the Flut Flut Egg Off the Cliff Spoiler Talk to the birdwatcher in Sandover Villiage to start this quest. Head over to the waterfall by the beach. Locate the egg across some platforms. Jump over and attack the egg a few times to knock it off the edge. Pop Goes the Lurker Destroy the Balloon Lurkers Spoiler On Misty Island, use the A-Grav Zoomer to destroy the Balloon Lurkers. Hit them side-on to avoid taking damage from the explosives they carry. They will be extremely easy to hit once noticed, but it may take a long time to see all of the Lurkers. They all follow specific paths, so look around, and when you see one, make sure you follow its path and intercept it. After you have destroyed all five Lurkers, the power cell will appear inside the ship. Tonight’s Featured Event Defeat Lurker Ambush in Arena Story Related and cannot be missed. Spoiler On Misty Island, you will be ambushed by a group of Lurkers when you enter the giant arena (it is opened by walking near the large Precursor door with blue eco). Be careful, the middle of the arena is constantly being blasted by a cannon. Defeat all the Lurkers for this trophy. There will be a lot of the stronger foes that take two hits to kill, but most of them drop red eco when slain, so defeat the first couple, then use red eco to easily defeat all the others. After you have defeated all the enemies, some platforms will come down Zoom! Reach the End of Fire Canyon Story Related and cannot be missed. Spoiler Use the A-Grav Zoomer to get across Fire Canyon. Be careful, as the lava will cause the Zoomer to overheat and explode. Use the Blue Eco to go faster, and use the Cooling Balloons to reduce the Zoomer’s heat meter. Other than that, simply stay off the lava as much as possible, and this shouldn’t be too difficult. Catch as Catch Can Catch the Flying Lurkers Spoiler In Precursor Basin, there are four Lurkers flying around. Simply run into all four of them to destroy each and get the trophy. They will move nearly as fast as you do, and at first appearance you wont be able to catch up. Simply keep chasing them, and cut small corners whenever possible, and you will eventually catch up. Make sure not to cut large corners though, because they will turn around if you get in front of them Green Thumb Cure Dark Eco Infected Plants Spoiler Get rid of all the infected plants in Precursor Basin. This can be done by powering yourself up with Green Eco, then fly around and touch the infected areas. Be as fast as possible, because the infected plants will grow back over time. You will have to refill your Eco meter to finish this task. Purple Pain Navigate the Purple Precursor Rings Spoiler In the middle of Precursor Basin, you will find a Purple Precursor Ring. Fly through it, and then fly through all the rings that appear. You have a limited time to fly through them all. There are around 20 rings. Fly through all for the trophy. I Got the Blues Navigate the Blue Precursor Rings Spoiler This is the same as the Purple Precursor Ring challenge, though it starts in the other side of Precursor Basin. The Purple Precursor Ring challenge is required to have been complete before this challenge can be started. Speedy Fast Beat the Record Time on the Gorge Spoiler The Gambler in Volcanic Crater will task you with this challenge. Head over to the Precursor Basin entrance. To the right of the entrance, you will find a cave with a checkered strip blocking it. Head through there, and race through the course as fast as possible. The record time is 45 seconds, anything under that will successfully complete the challenge. Head back over to the Gambler to collect your reward. Twist and Shout Defeat the Lurker Ambush Spoiler In Boggy Swamp, after you destroy some Dark Eco Crates, you will use a jumper, and it will land you in the area where you will be ambushed. Defeat all the enemies for this trophy. Edited December 22, 2023 by Viper Guide Revision by Terminator 13/08/2013.
DKsDragon
Hungry? Protect Farthy's Snacks Spoiler In Boggy Swamp, talk to Boggy Billy at his hut. He will ask you to keep the Swamp Rats away from "Farthy's Snacks". Shoot Yellow Eco Fireballs at the rats to keep them away from the food. There are three waves of rats. Keep them all away to complete the challenge. Vita version: Asher1985 said: With Hungry?, you need to move the reticule as normal with but repeatedly tap the touchscreen with your finger or thumb to fire the yellow eco at the rats. Credit to Asher1985 for the Vita info. The Lead Zeppelin Break all Four Tethers to the Zeppelin Spoiler In Boggy Swamp, there will be four tethers hanging from a Zeppelin in the sky. The tethers will be attached to boulders on platforms. Locate the four boulders, find Yellow Eco nearby, and blast the boulders. Blast each boulder to release all four tethers and complete this mission. Zoom Zoom! Reach the End of the Mountain Pass Story Related and cannot be missed. Spoiler Simply beat the Lurkers to the end of the Mountain Pass. Be careful to avoid the Dark Eco crates and dynamite, if you hit either you will die and have to restart the race. If you beat the Lurkers to the end, drive into the Lurker holding the dynamite at the end of the pass, and a power cell will appear. De-Klawwed Defeat Klaww Story Related and cannot be missed. Spoiler 1. Dodge the rocks he throws 2. When he stops, grab the Blue Eco and jump across the Precursor platforms that have appeared, dodging the boulders he throws at you 3. Grab the Yellow Eco and shoot fireballs at him, after a few shots he will drop the boulder he is holding on his head 4. Repeat this until he is defeated. You should only have to do it three times [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OhzysIspGY]Jak and Daxter : Klaww ! - YouTube[/ame] Kerblamm! Destroy the Dark Eco Crystals Spoiler In Spider Cave, locate all the Dark Eco Crystals, and destroy them all. There are five Crystals. The first is in the middle area of the first large room in the cave. The second is near the three webbed jumpers that lead you to the cave with the giant robot. The third is in the room with the Dark Eco pit. When you first enter the room, it is in the top left. The fourth is in the same room. Head to the right, jump across the large pit of Eco, jump in the water, and swim down to the bottom to locate this crate. The last one is the dark cave. You will find another body of water in here near the fourth light crystal. The crystal is at the bottom of this pool. It’s Dark in Here Survive the Lurker Infested Cave Spoiler In Snowy Mountain, when you are in front of Lurker Fort, head to the left and cross two icy bridges. Continue along and you will enter a cave filled with scores of bouncing lurkers and dark eco boxes. Spin your way through as fast as you can, and jump up and back towards the entrance to get the power cell and the trophy. It’s Cold Out Here Stop the 3 Lurker Glacier Troops Spoiler There are three Lurker Glacial Troops scattered around Snowy Mountain. They will come out of battering rams, and will shoot at you and hold shields. You cannot damage them unless you have red eco. Luckily, there is a red eco vent near all 3 Troops. Get red and break their shield with a basic attack, then simply kill them. The first is at the top of the hill that the snow boulders roll down. At the top, turn left and defeat all the enemies you find there. The second is just past the pond near the entrance to Snowy Mountain. The last group can only be accessed after you have opened the Lurker Gate. Once you have, jump onto the platform. At the upper level, head right to find the last group. Zoom, Zoom, Zoom! Reach the End of the Lava Tube Story Related and cannot be missed. Spoiler Simply get through Lava Tube. Remember to keep the Zoomer as cool as possible to avoid it exploding. Set Me Free! Free the Red Sage Story Related and cannot be missed. Spoiler At Gol and Maia’s Citadel, at the front entrance, head to the right. Jump across the semi-circle platforms and at the top enter the door to find a Yellow Eco vent. In the next room, cross the platforms and the rotating block. The next rotating block will have fire blasting down on it. The jump to reach this platform will be hard, make sure to time it at the last possible second before the platform starts going back. DKsDragon
Power Lunch Collect 25 Power Cells See Maximum Power! Power Chords Collect 50 Power Cells See Maximum Power! Maximum Power! Collect 101 Power Cells These are used to progress throughout the story. You will not need all 101 to complete the game but you will end with a minimum of 76 (72 to get through the Lava Tube, 4 compulsory ones in the final area), giving you both Power Lunch and Power Chords. They can be found in a variety of ways. Some will simply be in the environment to pick up, some will be earned from collecting Scout Flies but most will be earned from doing quests and trading with people. The ones in the environment are fairly self explanatory, simply walk over them to obtain them. There are 16 Power Cells you obtain from collecting Scout Flies. Each area has 7 Scout Flies, and if you collect all 7 you are rewarded with a Power Cell. Many will be earned from doing quests, whether main story line or side. A few will be earned from trading in Precursor Orbs. Do not worry about having enough; you will have far more than enough number to buy them all, as there are a limited number of both Precursor Orbs and Power Cells. Here is a link to a Power Cell Locations Guide by Ryukori: LINK Buzzin’ Collect 28 Scout Flies See Totally Buzzed Out. Buzzed Collect 49 Scout Flies See Totally Buzzed Out. Totally Buzzed Out! Collect 112 Scout Flies There are seven Scout Flies in each area, Keira sent them out for recon, but they were captured by the Lurkers and placed inside boxes. The boxes are red with a steel trim and they can only be broken by using a stronger attack (a jump attack will work). There is one Scout Fly inside each box, collect all seven in one location to earn one of the essential Power Cells. There are 16 areas, for a total of 112 Scout Flies (meaning you must get them all) and 16 Power Cells. Here is a link to a Scout Flies Locations Guide by Ryukori: LINK The Orbist Collect 100 Precursor Orbs See The Super Orberator. The Orberator Collect 1000 Precursor Orbs See The Super Orberator. The Super Orberator Collect 2000 Precursor Orbs Precursor Orbs are used kind of like currency in Jak and Daxter and look like floating red eggs, they are found throughout the game and do not respawn but there are exactly 2000 of them scattered throughout the world. Here is a link to a Precursor Orb Locations Guide by Ryukori: LINK Thanks go out to: YouTube users vingamer0723 and lagrogne for their videos. GameFAQs user Adrenaline SL for their guide. DKsDragon
Congrats on making the selection. Thanks, I am actually a bit surprised, your guide was very well done as well. Sorry we both couldn't win. Thanks to the guide team for their reviewing, and selection of my guide! EDIT: The De-Klawwed trophy is out of order from the rest - it should be directly before Zoom Zoom! Otherwise it looks good. I just double checked, in XMB order, Zoom Zoom! is before De-Klawwed. In story progression however, you are right, it is wrong. I am leaving it in XMB, but good point. Edited February 12, 2012 by DKsDragon
Bounty V
Since this guide was chosen, figured it might be fortuitous for me to put this here. Grats by the way Right after the introduction, you might want to consider adding some info about the controls. I know for a fact that the different jumps are detrimental to reaching areas/platforms later on in the game. Things like the Roll-Jump, Double Jump-Spin Attack, and the Crouch Jump. I'd highly recommend adding this as first timers won't know about these without goofing around with controls. Not sure why they weren't mentioned in the 'tutorial'

Quagland
Great guide. Question- I haven't been to Misty Island yet and I've crossed the Fire Canyon, activated the teleporter in the hut but jumped in the water and continued with the game. Is it still possible to teleport back to Sandover village at some point?

legitboiij
Well everything seems to be in order. I got the platinum in less than 24hrs (it was my jak1 goal). This will always be in my hall of fame along with Jak3. Jak 2 was really tough and the orbs are really insane to get, i would've done glitch BUT not worth the time. Hoping for Jak 4.
