INTRODUCTION

The BEAST is coming. A being of pure power and destruction is annihilating the East Coast. To stop this menace, Cole must find the key to unlocking his undiscovered powers hidden deep within New Marais. Standing in the way is a power-hungry dictator that will stop at nothing to rid him from the city. Gain enough power to defeat The Beast or witness the destruction of the world. Save the world or destroy it. There are several key characters in inFAMOUS 2.

Cole MacGrath- From bike messenger to superhero in a day, when Cole got his powers thousands died. He’s been trying to do right by humanity ever since…if it just wasn’t so damn hard.

Joseph Bertrand III- This arrogant scion of New Marais’ most prominent family now rules the town with an iron fist. His ruthless personal militia crushes all opponents and controls every facet of the city. He is dedicated of ridding the city of Cole and any other super-powered being he deems as “unpure”.

Kuo- A patriotic NSA agent who is determined to defeat the Beast and save the city of New Marais by helping Cole achieve his super-powered potential. Little does she know, a similar potential exists within her as well.

Nix- A super-powered native of New Marais who has sworn revenge against Bertrand. Cole will soon learn that you either join Nix, or get out of her way. With her fiery ability to control oil, she is willing to do anything and everything to see Bertrand burn, by any means necessary.

Dr. Sebastian Wolfe- A brilliant scientist who worked with the First Sons on the original Ray Sphere. Wolfe is overcome with guilt at the harm the Ray Sphere has caused and now works tirelessly to make amends. It's these efforts that lead Cole to new and more powerful abilities.

Zeke Dunbar- Always the clown, Zeke grew tired of playing second banana to Cole and his new-found hero persona. So he tried to steal his powers – and he’s been trying to regain Cole’s trust ever since.

ROADMAP

First and foremost make 2 manual saves (1 for Good & 1 for Evil) in case you need to go back and complete a trophy

STEP 1: Chose a Path (Good or Evil)

Stick with the path until you have completed the game while playing it on either easy or medium. Playing on medium is recommend because it will groom you towards you next playthrough on hard. Make sure if you decide to take the Evil path you only choose the red options and if you decide the Good path only to choose the blue options when given.

This playthrough should be all about learning the moves and getting enjoying the story. You should be able to get majority of the trophies on this playthrough. Also while in this playthrough I would advise not getting any of the blast shards that are located on the buildings (doing so will make finding the ones you need a little harder). There are other ways of getting them, which is by purchasing the Blast Shard Sense which will point you towards closest blast shard.

Be sure to play the all the side mission that are related to your Karma path, Good are blue & Evil are Red. Completing all the side mission will result in 2 trophies, Land Lord & It's My Town Now and it will also help you purchase Powers/Upgrades. Furthermore, there are 2 other trophies that are side mission related: The Cleaner (Evil side) & Frozen Assets (Good side). Be sure to complete one of them on this playthrough. For example if you are going for your Good side playthrough, complete all side missions related to Frozen Assets and vice versa.

STEP 2: Chose Opposite Path on Hard difficulty

Start this playthrough on opposite Karma side of Step 1 and change the difficulty to Hard. Make sure that you do not lower the difficulty at any time during gameplay until you have finished the game because changing it will prevent you from achieving Pain Builds Character trophy. Right after the opening scene where you see Zeke walking up to Cole, press :start: and go to options to change the difficulty to Hard, which will ensure that you get the trophy in the end.

Make sure to collect as many blast shards as possible because it will help you on your Hard playthrough. The reason for collecting them will be to increase your energy storage, therefore you will be able to shoot more grenades, rockets, bolts. Also collecting Dead drops will also help you gain XP needed for powers/upgrades.

On this playthrough you should complete all the neutral side missions (not karma related, just yellow icon) because they help you build your XP quicker, buy the upgrades a lot faster, and completing the one of these 2 trophies that are side mission related (choose the opposite of your first playthrough). The 2 trophies are The Cleaner (Evil side) & Frozen Assets (Good side). The Power/Upgrades you should buy are:

  • Magnum Bolt (Hero) or Skull Bolt (Infamous)
  • Alpha Blast
  • Sticky Grenade (Hero) or Napalm Grenade (Infamous)
  • Alpha Rocket
  • Lightning Tether (automatic)
  • Ionic Vortex or Ionic Freeze (Hero)
  • Buy every AMP skill because the tough enemies are most easily killed with melee.
  • Every upgrade is good

After you have beaten the game on hard turn the difficulty to easy or medium and begin your clean up. At the end of the second playthrough you will receive 15,000 XP, which will help you with the With Great Power Comes Greater Power trophy. Also once you have finished the game the second time you will be able to purchase all powers/upgrades regardless of your Karma level. Meaning that if you are on inFamous Karma level you can purchase Hero Karma powers/upgrades.

STEP 3: Clean-Up/Online(non-multiplayer)

Go back to the second game play save that you started on Hard and change it to Easy, you will gain more XP that way. Complete all the UGC related trophies and any that you may have missed in your first 2 playthroughs.

NOTES

You will be able to start going towards a side (Good or Evil) once you have reached the bridge (from the swamp) that you must lower by charging (to green) or overloading (to the red) the generator across the river. After you have lowered the bridge and go across it there will be a cut-scene and after that you will get 100 XP for it and on top left corner of the screen there will your KARMA meter (Good or Evil). It will be a half circle; the Blue represents Good and the Red represents Evil. Your actions throughout the game will push you towards Good or Evil. Whenever you receive Good Karma you Karma meter on the top left corner will highlight in blue and if you have completed a Side Mission or Crime in Progress it will give you a Blue banner on the top of the screen notifying you of your Karma received and vice versa for Evil Karma (Red banner and red highlight). Below are the actions that can change your Karma (Good or Evil).

Good Karma Opportunity:

  • First place is when you are lowering the bridge from the swamp side, charge it all the way to the Green bars only (not red because it equals Evil karma)
  • Crimes in progress- medical emergency, kidnapping, mugging, diffusing bombs, assisting cops.
  • Side Missions/Quests- will be a Yellow circle and Blue on the inside, complete the quest
  • Arc Restrain- enemies on the the ground (gives you live capture)
  • Good Karma can be achieved only through Blue Icon missions. Harder to achieve Hero rank than inFAMOUS
  • When performing a stunt that is a good karma the name of the stunt and XP value will be in the color blue

Evil Karma Opportunity:

  • First place is when you are lowering the bridge from the swamp side, overload the generator all the way to the Red bars and destroy the village in the process
  • Bystanders- injuring civilians
  • Bio Leach everybody
  • Side Missions/Quests- will be a Yellow circle and Red on the inside, complete the quest
  • Crimes in progress- silence Street performers, Blast shard carriers, Protesters.
  • Basically you can get Evil Karma out of every mission except the Blue Side Quests are yellow on the outside and blue on the inside
  • When performing a evil stunt it will show the name and XP value in red.

Furthermore, you will see many stunts that are in more than one place on the list and that is because performing them on simple enemies (militia) will give you less XP; however, performing the same stunts on more difficult enemies (ice soldiers, maybe corrupted) will give you more XP; Take Down stunt is a great example.

XP Recommendations

Easiest way to get a lot of XP is to find militia on the roof of a building and use the Kinetic Pulse to throw them of the roof. This will result in the following XP for a single enemy:

  • Watch your Step=15 XP
  • Enviro kill=10 XP
  • Take Down=5 XP
  • Blast Party=10 XP (need 3 enemies)
  • Result could give you around 100 XP for 3-4 enemies if successful

Another is to complete short and easy UGC created missions and all side missions. Also end of your 2nd playthrough you will receive 15,000 XP.

There is also an infinite XP glitch but to beneficial you must first unlock the powers/upgrades by performing the stunts required. There is only 1 limiting factor to this glitch is that you can only purchase powers/upgrades that are equal or less than the XP that you have available. For example if you have 2000 XP and do the glitch you can only purchase powers that require 2000 XP or less, anything above that you cannot purchase. Here are step by step instructions:

  • press :start: go to User Generated Content
  • go to Create Empty Mission
  • press :start: and select Play Current Mission
  • after mission starts press :start: go to Powers
  • buy every power/upgrade that you have unlocked and you will see that it will not be deducted from you total XP earned under Available XP
  • after purchases press :start: and select Edit Current Mission
  • after that press :start: again & Exit Mission Designer & press :triangle: not to save
  • press :right: to go to powers/upgrades menu and see that the purchases are still there and no XP has been deducted

Mission Key

If you ever loose the mission's objective simply press :l3: and the mission objective will appear on the top middle of the screen in white.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/12.jpgFight The Good Fight (S) Glitched

Unlock the good ending

This will be on your Good playthrough of the game.[spoiler=13242345]At the end of the game, you will have a choice, pick either Kuo or Nix. This time around the Karma roles are reversed and Nix is Good Karma meaning earning a good ending, therefore pick Nix's side by pressing :l2:. This battle can take some time and sometimes people will not like your choices and will interfere with the progress.

  • After you pick Nix's side there will be a cutscene with Zeke and Nix on the Cathedral
  • After that you need to get to the river and onto the boat and travel to Gas Works on second island
  • Then after reaching the Gas Works there will be another cutscene and you will have to turn back and return to the Nix to power up the RFI
  • In order to return back you will have to jump from boat to boat either by using your improved thrusters or the Lightening Tether till you get to dry land
  • Once you are on dry land you will need to get back to Smut Triangle and meet Nix there
  • Once you are there Nix will defend the RFI and you will have to battle The Beast (John) & Kuo
  • In the battle with the Beast your best weapons are the Freeze Rocket, Bolt Stream and Ionic Storm. Start of with Freeze Rockets while you are on the roof near the RFI because you can drain energy. However, once you are in the air simply press & hold :r1: to use the Bolt Stream. Eventually he will grab you and try to squeeze you, here you want to press :r1: repeatedly and fast until he releases you from his hand. Repeat this process until the Beast has about 1/3 of his life left.
  • At this point you will have to battle Kuo. She is very easy to defeat by simply holding down the :r1: button while having the Bolt Stream power on, her health will be fully depleted in about 10 seconds. You can also melee but she will get away after a few hits; however, using the Bolt Stream (if constantly on her) will prevent her from running away and deplete her life faster.
  • After you have defeated Kuo you will have to battle the Beast again. Repeat same steps as above for the fight with the Beast until he has almost no life left
  • After that you will fight Kuo again and repeat same process as above for Kuo battle OR ignore Kuo and shoot a Rocket or two at the Beast
  • After you have fully drained the life from the Beast you will have to summon the Ionic Storm by pressing
  • After the cutscene with Nix you will take the RFI and head towards the substation on the Cathedral
  • Once you reach the Cathedral head up to the roof and another cutscene will occur in which Cole will fully charge the RFI
  • After the cutscene you will go to the ground near the Cathedral and the Beast will be there. You must defeat him again but this time around it will be very easy, simply press & hold :r1: to use the Bolt Stream and his life will be drained in mere seconds
  • Then there will be another cut-scene with Kuo, after that you will need to press & hold :l1: + :l2: + :r1: + :r2: to use the RFI.
  • After the cutscene and the credits the trophy will follow
  • There have been reports that skipping the credits will not unlock the trophy

Story Related- Good Side continued

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/12.jpgIncorruptible (S)

Earn full positive Karma

This will be on your Good playthrough of the game. For this trophy you must reach the Good Karma rank of Hero and fill the blue karma bar all the way. You will start with Guardian then rank up to Champion and finally at your end point of Hero. You will earn good Karma by doing good deeds. Healing the wounded and saving people from the crimes the militia tries to commit. Killing the militia when you do side and story missions and arc restrain any that are on the ground but not dead will also result in Good Karma. Make sure to always pick the blue side when you get the choice to do so, and always Pick Kuo to build good karma (except at the end of the game). If you do all the side missions and crimes in progress you should be able to get this trophy on the first island. All crimes in progress respawn (except Bomb & Diamond=thief) after a while so you can complete as many as you would like. You can get full positive karma (Hero rank) by following the above steps and you should be around the 3rd or 4th story mission in the game.

http://i55.tinypic.com/28c3egw_th.pngGood side mission will help get you full positive karma as well.

Blue Icons:

  • Gun- to indicate a mugging is going on and you need to save the person getting mugged by killing the militia only for Good Karma.
  • Bomb- to indicate a bomb is close by and you need to defuse it before it explodes and kills the police officer. To defuse the bomb press :l2: to drain it and it will give you Good Karma. Be sure to collect the blast shard after you defuse the bomb by pressing :r1:.
  • Cross- will indicate injured civilians. If you pulse heal them it will give you Good Karma.
  • Person- will have the icon of a person from the waist up and the hands in the air and it will represent a kidnapping/abduction. You will need to kill all the militia and save the civilian for Good Karma.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgHero to the People (B)

Stop 80 crimes in progress

This will be on your Good playthrough of the game. Will list all crimes in progress with the icon and crime description. All crimes in progress respawn after a while so you don't have to worry about not having enough crimes. There is only 1 crime that does not respawn that is because it is blast shard related and is the Bomb. The crimes that count towards this trophy are listed below:

Blue Icons:

Complete the Ice Conduit side missions

This will be on your Good playthrough of the game. The side missions icons are all yellow on outside and blue at the center. The Ice Conduit missions are all available on the second island (2 in flood town & 2 in gas works). There are four side missions that you will need to complete before this trophy will pop. In three (3) of those Side missions below, you will fight along side a Ice Soldier Ally. Once you have reached the last side mission, you will see that, things have changed and you will have to take matters into your own hands. By completing the fourth side mission will earn you this trophy. Keep in mind that some of these side missions are not available until a certain point of the story. All of these mission will be available towards the end of the story keeping in mind that you have not completed the Evil Karma side mission at that location. Completing the Evil side mission will permanently block the Good Karma side mission at that location.

Unlock the evil ending

This will be on your Evil playthrough of the game.[spoiler=24352]At the end of the game, you will have choice to pick either Kuo or Nix. This time around Kuo will give you the Evil Karma meaning earning the Evil ending, therefore pick Kuo's side by pressing :r2:.

  • After choosing Kuo, you will need to meet John at the Docks (Cutscene). You will need to hover around with John (The Beast) while he reeks havoc around town. You don't need to harm anyone and you can use John as a shield if you are taking damage.
  • After a while Nix will come and use the RFI against The Beast dealing damage to him. You will need to go up to her and fight her until see runs away. Hitting her once or twice with your AMP will get her to move to another location. You will then have to move and get to the location she is at and repeat the process until see stops and not use the RFI any more. She uses the RFI against you to cause you damage. Make sure to hide until she stops and then attack her. She will jump from roof top to roof top until you take down 50% of her health.
  • After taking down her health you will need to get back to john and hover with him until he reaches the cathedral. You do not have to attack anyone if you don't want to and you can use John as a Shield if you are being attacked. Soon Kuo will give you a call and tell you the power is back up, but Cole is worried about Zeke and wants to know what Kuo did with him.
  • Shortly after Nix will be back and taking aim at John again you will need to fight her again. She has a full bar of health this time around as well and you will need to take her health down to get her to leave again. She will travel from roof to roof with every little bit of damage you do to her. This time around she uses two different attacks, The RFI and her Ink Grenades. After you cause 85-90 percent of damage to her health she will then run away again and you will need to go to John again to move forward to the cathedral.
  • After reaching the Cathedral you will need to fight Nix for the third time. This time you will take down her health the whole way, after reaching that point, you will need to Press to finish her off.
  • This is where Zeke comes into play and you will need to press each time he picks his arm up and points the weapon at you. Doing this three times will end up killing Zeke (You will need to kill Zeke).
  • After all that, the Beast (John) will come to you and tell you that he is tired (really Tired of killing) of killing and you will have to become the Beast
  • There have been reports that skipping the credits will not unlock the trophy

Complete the assassination side missions

This will be on your Evil playthrough of the game. The first one is kind of story related if you are doing your Evil playthrough, that one you is when you are first getting started with the side missions. The first one will be a story mission called Karma's a Bitch that will give you 2 options: Taking Out The Trash (Evil) & Good Samaritan (Good). All 3 of these side mission are Evil Karma related and the icons will be in yellow and red at the center. The next two are strictly side mission and done when you want. For this missions you will have to kill certain people your contact wants dead. Just realized some people get greedy or don't want any witnesses, so they try to turn on you. You will get a picture of the person you need to kill and/or a location you need to be at. Do what you have to do and/or fight of whoever comes in your way. During the last side mission the tides turn.

  • http://i51.tinypic.com/144kci_th.pngThe mission will look like this on the map.
  • Taking Out The Trash- related to a story mission early in the game
  • The Hunt- located on the first island between the Cathedral and Clocktower
  • Assassin’s Greed- 2nd island, flood town, all the way on the left

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgCole’s Blooded (B)

Defeat 100 civilians

You can complete this in both playthroughs, however make sure you do this on your Evil playthrough because if it will give you Evil Karma when killing civilians. Simply kill any civilian in your path and make sure you get the Bystanders +1 XP stunt.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/12.jpgArch Villain (S)

Earn full negative Karma

This will be on your Evil playthrough of the game. For this trophy you must reach the full Evil Karma rank of inFAMOUS and fill the red karma bar all the way. You will start with Thug then rank up to Outlaw and finally at your end point of inFAMOUS. You can achieve this on the first island by simply completing most of the side missions and story missions until the story takes you to the powered down area of the first island. Keeping in mind that you complete every crime in progress in the karma of your choosing. You can also complete the crimes in progress, even if they are not suited to your karma of choice. Every time you kill someone make sure to perform bio leech. Killing civilians will net you evil karma as well.

http://i51.tinypic.com/144kci_th.pngCompleting the evil side mission will help a great deal as well.

Crimes List:

  • Gun- to indicate a mugging is going on and to get Evil Karma you need to kill the militia and the person getting mugged.
  • Bomb- indicates a bomb is close by that you need to defuse. To get Evil Karma simply kill the police officer and defuse the bomb it will give you Evil Karma. Keep in mind that after you defuse the bomb collect the blast shard out of it by pressing :r1:. Another way is to shoot a few bolts at the bomb and explode it and kill the police officer in the process.
  • Cross- will indicate that you have to heal the civilians. Perform bio leech on them it will give you Evil Karma.
  • Person- will have the icon of a person from the waist up and the hands in the air and it will represent a kidnapping. You will need to kill the militia and the civilian to get Evil Karma.
  • Music- will represent a street performer that needs to be silenced. There are 2 types of street performers. Some that play musical instruments and some that imitate statues (color silver and look like stone). If you kill the street performer it will net you Evil Karma.
  • Diamond- will represent a thief and he is a blue glowing person carrying a blast shard. If you kill the person it will give you Evil Karma. Make sure to collect the blast shard afterwards.
  • Protesters- the icons will be a round circle with a diagonal line through it. If you kill them it will give you Evil Karma.
  • Shield- will represent a police patrol and you have to suppress the police by killing them and resulting in Evil Karma.

Give Bertrand what he wants

This is story related and will happen regardless of your morality. You will earn this trophy during the later half of the second island. You will need to battle Bertrand and win. The trophy should pop after the cutscene.

[spoiler=232bertrand23]

After talking to Bertrand on the Helipad, he will change into that big monster. You will have to jump on the back of Zeke's Pick up truck and Keep Bertrand from getting close and destroying the truck.

Round One (1) Truck:

Here is what to do when on the pick up truck and need to keep him from getting close.

  • When he opens his mouth and you see the Purple glowing object in his mouth, use the lightening bolts (:l1:+:r1:) to hit him and slow him down.
  • When he starts to shoot the green stuff that directly at you, they are smaller than the green stuff that makes an arch (goes up and then down right away). Use the :l1: + :cross: to send them back.

Round Two (2) Foot:

After a while he will be caught in between some lights and that is where you get off the truck and battle the Bertand (the monster). Make sure to take out the little swamp monsters first. These are his hit points:

  • Both Arms (Purple lights that come out when he leans over) You will need to shoot with :l1:+:r1: since that is the only way to shoot from a distance. Try to be on high ground when attacking that way you can't get hurt by the little monsters. Once you take down half his half a cutscene starts.

Round Three (3) Helicopter:

You are now on the helicopter hanging with one hand. This is no different than when you was on the truck. Use the :l1: + :cross: to send back the green stuff, :l2: to gain energy/health. Every once and a while shoot a few at him to keep his attention.

After a while of shooting and reflecting, he will get stuck and a missile will be shot at Betrand (the monster), but gets stuck on his shell/body. Shoot a bolt or 2 at tit and blow that missile up. He will be coming at you a little faster, continue to do what you did in the beginning, reflect.

Another missile will get stuck and shoot that one too.

Round four (4) back on foot:

You will drop from the helicopter and Bertrand will be stuck again. There will be a lot of monsters and alot of action going on, so make sure to heal when you can. These are his hits points:

  • Both Arms (Purple lights that come out when he leans over) You will need to shoot with :l1:+:r1: since that is the only way to shoot from a distance. Try to be on high ground when attacking that way you can't get hurt by the little monsters. Once you take down half his half a cutscene starts.
  • The Chest (Purple lights that come out when he leans over) There are two orbs, so hit both until they burst.

Defeat 300 Enemies

You can complete this trophy in both playthroughs depending on how many crimes in progress and side missions you complete. If you complete all the side missions & story missions it will give you more than enough to unlock this trophy. You will get a lot of kills during the story mission that involve powering up areas.

Finish the game on hard difficulty

Right after the opening scene where you see Zeke walking up to Cole, press :start: and go to options to change the difficulty to hard. Ensuring that you get the trophy in the end.

Keep in mind that playing on a hard difficulty will give you less XP when you defeat enemies and enemies take more hits to die. This should be your second playthrough of the game. By this time you will be familiar with the game, controls and missions. The powers/upgrades you should think about buying when going for this trophy are:

  • Bolt Stream (Hero) or Skull Bolt (Infamous)
  • Alpha Blast (automatic)
  • Sticky Grenade (Hero) or Napalm Grenade (Infamous)
  • Alpha Rocket (automatic)
  • Lightning Tether (automatic)
  • Ionic Vortex or Ionic Freeze (Hero)
  • Buy every AMP skill asap as they’re all good.
  • Every upgrade is good, but Precision Enhanced due to the high power consumption.

Enemies take longer to go down make the battle a little longer than when first start you first playthrough. Throw grenades and make a run for it when you need to heal, finding a electric source to drain energy will be best in most fights. There are 40 story missions in this game and most being short, just heal when you need to and don’t fight monsters that are not relevant to the mission. Will list all enemies and tips how to defeat them:

Militia:

  • Militia- if close by just melee, if far away for a single enemy you can use bolts, head shot kills faster though; for a group use grenades or rockets; for a enormous group use ionic vortex
  • Militia (rocket launcher)- same as above
  • Mini-Gun militia- very tough if close by and usually travel in packs of 2, use bolts if far away, try to make a head shot because they dont really move, grenades and rockets work as well, if its only 1 of them melee works great too

Corrupted:

  • Spiker (swamp Bug)- these are nasty little bugs that shoot damaging slime, a simple melee hit will do the trick or a single bolt shot
  • Swamp Monster- melee works best on these guys but bolts, grenades and rockets work as well.
  • Gasbags (swamp monster with exploding head)- do not melee because they blow up, use bolt shots in the head to kill from a distance
  • Ravenger (hive lord)- just grenades or rockets, ionic vortex does not work at all.
  • Devourer (corrupted titan)- this enemy has a impenetrable skin so no matter how much you shoot it will have no effect. Every so often he will open his mouth to shoot green lime-looking bombs and/or shoot his tongue. When mouth is open (purple spot) shoot bolts if far away but if close grenade and rockets work very well. Ionic vortex does not work on these enemies.
  • Behemoth (Bertrand)- same as above (purple spots), but you want to stay as far away as possible, bolts are you primary weapon and rockets are your second option, no melee option. Use blast to repel his slime rockets.

Vermaak 88 (ice soldiers)

  • Quick note: they have ice shields, ice launch and ice towers. Ice shields protect them but if you fire enough bolts, grenades and rockets they break or you can simply aim for their heads and get head shock. Ice launch is used by them to escape from an area. Ice towers are used by the bigger soldiers to get a better position on the target but the towers do break by melee, bolts, grenades and rockets.
  • Ice soldier- these are tougher than the militia, you can use a variety of weapons on these guys but if close melee works great, beware if too many close by they gang up on you.
  • Ice soldier (shotgun)- these are very tough, a single shotgun shot can take half your life. Try to kill them from a distance but do use melee if close by as long as not too many.
  • Crushers (snow tower builder)- bolts from a distance work great, grenades and rockets do fine as well, although you can use melee i would try to stay away from that.
  • Ice Titan- although its a titan its much easier than it sounds, keep shooting grenades and rockets only (no bolts or ionic vortex), and once you lower its life it will highlight in blue, go next to it and press :r1: repeatedly to show a weak spot, then again grenades and rockets

Take down the Blast Shard Bomber

You will need to compete The Gauntlet side mission that is located on the second Island of New Marais, beginning of Gas Works. There are 2 bridges separating both islands, its the bridge connecting Ascension Parish (1st island) to Gas Works (2nd island), left side of the bridge on Gas Works part.

[spoiler=234228864]Once you get to this Side Quest Zeke will call you and let you know of the Blast Shard Bomber. Take him out and once the side mission is over the the trophy will be yours. Keep in mind that this mission can give you the Karma of your choosing. You will have 2 options:

Good- will be to deactivate the bomb on blast shard bomber by draining its energy, press & hold :l2:.

Evil- will be to shoot the bomb strapped to his chest.

If you want to know how many you have collected, look at your game save data from the XMB menu before/after playing the game or during gameplay you can select Save Data or Load Data and it will show you your save data. The #18 blast shard on 1st island can only be collected with the improved static thrusters.

Energy Storage number increases as you collect blast shards. You should really purchase the Blast Shard Sense (2500 XP & 60 side missions). The way that the Blast Shard Sense works is for example if you are missing 10 blast shards this upgrade will only show you 1 blast shard at a time, the closest one to you. Also in the powers menu when you go under Upgrades it will tell you how many you have completed. The side missions are the ones that take over a territory. The Blast Shard Sense will point you to where the closest shard is and will save you time in the long run. You can tap :l2: or press :l3: to have them show up on the mini map. Once you reach 280 blast shards after that it will tell you every time when you collect a blast shard 281/305, 282/305, 283/305, and so on.

Upgrades

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgMatching Set (B)

Unlock and purchase a power of each type by performing stunts

There are 8 first upgrades that you will need to earn this trophy. First you must complete the stunts in order to purchase the powers. After the stunts have been completed/performed Press :right: to access the Power Up Menu. From there you will need to purchase the first level of every upgrade, you will need to pay with your available XP to start using the upgrade. You can unlock this trophy while going for the With Great Power Comes Greater Power trophy. Click Me for stunt list.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/12.jpgWith Great Power Comes Greater Power (S)

Unlock and purchase all powers

You will need to purchase all upgrades for a single Karma (Good or Evil) + the Neutral upgrades to get this trophy. The earliest that this trophy can be achieved is in the Final Piece mission (last blast core). There all a total of 38 power/upgrades that you will need to purchase in order to obtain this trophy. Once you find a Karma that you want to buy all the upgrades for, stick with it until you unlock this trophy. There are multiple ways to earn XP to purchase the upgrades. The newly introduced User Generated content, by completing the missions will net you some sweet XP and build up your total very quickly. Doing the story missions, the side missions and completing the street crimes that happen. Also keep in mind that at the end of your second playthrough you will receive 15,000 XP. Click Me for XP list and recommendations. These are the upgrades/powers you need to purchase.

UGC missions XP: if you are to start a mission with a lot of enemies and kill them all you will get a lot of stunt XP (a few hundred depending on mission). Simply leave the mission before its completed or die. The reason for that is because if you complete the UGC mission you will only get the XP for completion and none of the stunt XP will count. Tip thanks to ReverendSID.

  • press :right: to go to powers/upgrades menu and see that the purchases are still there and no XP has been deducted

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgI’m As Shocked As You Are (B)

Defeat an enemy or civilian by stepping in water

The very first chance you get to unlock this trophy is in mission #2, Breaking into New Marais. In order for this trophy to be achieved the enemy/civilian must stand on water and since you are electrified once you step on the water near the enemy/civilian and it will send an electric current in the water and anybody in contact with the water will be electrified. If you cannot find a person in the water simply use the Blast power to push them in the water. There is a very high probability that if you have not yet unlocked this trophy that you will get this trophy in the 2nd island, flood town because its mostly in water.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgKnockout in the Blackout (B) Missable

Defeat 50 enemies in powered down areas while no missions are active

This key word for this trophy is no active missions. Powered down areas have to be charged in order to operate, which is why you have to shoot tesla coil missile from one transformer to another. Simply place a waypoint to the powered down areas by pressing :select: and point to a powered down area and press :cross: and you will get a purple waypoint. On the mini-map it will point you in the right direction. Make sure there are no side mission that you are working on and defeat 50 enemies. The way you would know if the area is powered down is when you press :l3: or tap :l2: there will be very little electric drains and your mini-map will have static. Also the powered down areas will look darker and blurry on the full map (:select:). There are two times in each Playthrough where you will be able to get this trophy. Once you reach a powered down area and you are on a mission press :start: and abandon the mission and go to the powered down area to defeat 50 enemies.

First chance is before starting up Powering up Ascension parish (That is the mission after you saved Kuo from the Building and Zeke transports her in the pick-up truck). This is the first place and also the recommended place simply because enemies here are much more easier to defeat than the other location. There will be a blackout, where you will need to turn back on the power. If you reached that location just Press :start: and Abandon the mission and seek out any monsters or militia to earn this trophy.

Second chance to earn this trophy is before you start up the Powering up Gas Works, when you reach the second Island of New Marais. This is the more Ideal time to get this trophy, since Cole will have more energy capacity, powers and abilities. You can take out enemies each time, at each area and the kills will accumulate. If you die in a Powered down area and go back at a later time, the Kills count and will stack once you go back.

Take down a street performer who is imitating a statue

Street performers are noted on the mini-map as a Red Music icon. The street performer will be in the color of stone (like silver-ish- grey). They are found mostly around the Cathedral and also in front of the casino near a park (building is tall and has a lot of lights, called “Yes We Can Can”). Please see spoiler sig for picture of a street performer.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgExtreme Makeover (B)

Destroy 30 verandas or other large objects

You can destroy Balconies, Wooden Towers and Flammable Fuel Tanks. Make sure that you are getting the Big Destruction + 5XP on the side of your screen when you destroy something of a large scale. Seeing that pop up will indicated that you are one step closer to earning this trophy. Make sure to throw your Bombs (:l1: + :square:) or Rockets (:l1: + :triangle:) at the destructible objects.

  • Wooden Towers can be found on both islands. These towers can easily be destroyed by shooting bolts on the top part of the tower. See spoiler tag for Wooden tower picture

[spoiler=234243]http://oi56.tinypic.com/asc3c.jpg

  • Tall Flammable Fuel tanks can be found on the second island near the Ice tower. These tanks are easiest to be destroyed with Rockets (a single Rocket). See spoiler tag for a picture.

[spoiler=4442354]http://oi54.tinypic.com/adjl3c.jpg

  • Train Fuel Tanks can be found on the second island in the rail yard, which is the right side of flood town. Simply shoot 1 Rocket and it will blow up. See spoiler tag for a picture.

[spoiler=555343]http://oi53.tinypic.com/qo6idk.jpg

  • Balconies are found mostly on the first island. The Balconies are easiest to be destroyed with Grenades.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgFinish What You Started (B)

Perform 100 finishers or ultra melee combos

In order to be able to do a finisher you will need to purchase the Finisher Attacks from the Upgrade menu :right:, scroll down to the Amp Upgrades press :cross: to select then under power level 1 Finisher Attacks purchase it, cost 600 XP. After purchasing it, Press :square: :square: :triangle: to perform a Finisher. After the you press :square: twice on bottom left corner you will see the meter fill and give you the option to press :triangle:. Only when the :triangle: is highlighted can you perform a Finisher.

Ultra Melee Finishers will be able to be purchased after earn and absorbing the second blast core, the Ultra Melee Finisher cost 1200 XP. The Ultra Finishers are available after a longer hit combo (the meter on bottom will be filled completely) and if you perform it a mini-finisher-scene will happen.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgGo Long! (B)

Hurl 50 objects using the Kinetic Pulse ability

First you will need to have the Kinetic pulse ability and you can get it right after you received your first blast core. You need to lift an object and hurl it. For this trophy you will press :r2: then aim where you would like to throw the object and press :cross: or :square: to use the kinetic pulse. Also keep in mind that if you are going for your Vehicular Manslaughter trophy those cars will count towards the 50 objects.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgHead Hunter (B)

Use the Precision ability to rack up three head shots in rapid succession

Once you have the precision ability unlocked simply select a group of enemies that are far away (preferably on top of a building because they cannot run away) from you but close to each other and kill 3 enemies fast. Also this trophy does not require 3 different enemies but rather 3 head shots, which can be done on same enemy as long as he can take 3 or more hits. This does use Cole’s energy, so waiting until after you have collected enough blast shards to increase you energy storage will help earn this trophy a lot easier. To make sure that you completed the stunt 3 times look on the top left corner of the screen it will give you Precision Head Shock +1 XP (x3). If you are still having trouble getting this trophy, Purchase the precision enhanced upgrade, which increase the time it takes for Cole’s energy to be depleted and the zoom when he is the aiming mode (you will be able to get it once you have completed 50 side missions and payed 2100 XP).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgHeavy Hitter (B)

Use your Ionic Powers 30 times

You will learn how to use the Ionic powers after absorbing the second Blast Core. There will be Purple blurbs that drop from defeated enemies, that you can pick up. Once you have Picked up the purple blurb, Press  to launch the Ionic Power. Doing this 30 times you net you this trophy. You don’t have to hit anyone for it to count, you can also down and the use of the Ionic power will still accumulate to the total.

There is also a much easier way to do this but its very late in the game. The Death Toll story mission you can drain energy from the storm and every time you use your ionic powers simply press :l2: to drain energy from the storm and not only will it regenerate energy but also your ionic powers as well. So simply  to use and :l2: to reload, repeat these steps till the trophy unlocks.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgShock and Awe (B)

Thunder drop into a group of 5 or more enemies

Find an area of at least 5 enemies and simply use the thunder drop. Easiest when you climb to the nearest tallest building and press :cross: to jump towards the enemies and once you are over them (while still remaining in the air) press :square: to thunder drop on them.

Method 1 & 2:

This can be unlocked on the side mission Masquerade, which is located on the first island and very early in the game. Another possibility is on story mission #10 Desperate Times.

[spoiler=23427743](1- time frame 1-43 sec) Masquerade side mission, in this mission you will have to kill all the militia that are disguised as street performers imitating a statue. The mission will take place in a small park and in the middle of the park there is a small monument. Climb up and make sure all the militia are close to each other then press :cross: to jump and :square: to thunder drop and trophy will follow.

(2- time frame 44 sec till end) Mission #10 Desperate Times, where you will follow Nix and you will get 5 enemies close to each other in a alley. Climb up a story or 2 and perform the thunder drop.

Method 3:

This can easily obtained in the Powering Up Ascension Parish mission. [spoiler=23477584]That is the mission after you save Kuo from the Building. When you go to activate the Third Transformer and the enemies come from sides climb the building and and jump from the Roof, Press :square: to Thunder Drop landing on the Five to Six people in that little area near the reactor.

Hit at least 6 cars in a single Ionic Vortex

After absorbing your second blast core which Zeke will give you when he joins the militia, you will earn the ability to use the Ionic Vortex. After defeating the enemies, you will see a purple blurb that will float to you, press  and you will be able to use the Ionic Vortex. The best and easiest way is when you are in a street with at least 3 cars parked on one side and more cars coming your way. Simply get in front of the cars coming your way to stop them and when you have 3 parked and 3 that you blocked their patch press  to activate the Ionic Vortex and the trophy will soon follow.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgThunder Flop (B)

Thunder drop from the highest place in New Marais

Once you reach the second island climb the Ice tower and press :cross: to jump and once you are far away from the building to perform a thunder drop simply press :square: and once you reach the ground the trophy will pop up. Make sure you climb all the way to the top, including the antennas that are on top. Make sure you don't hit anything along your way down, if you hit anything, it will cancel the action and the trophy will not pop. The trophy should pop once you hit the ground. You can also get the Nothing Can Keep Me Down trophy at this location. You can use the teleport glitch to get to the top also, tip by the_requiem .

You will get to this place during one of the later mission on the second island. While you’re up there look for the path that looks easiest to hit the ground and jump holding square. This will only unlock if you hit the lowest point on the ground.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgVehicular Manslaughter (B)

Defeat 25 enemies by throwing cars at them

First you must unlock the Kinetic Pulse power to throw cars, which you get after you get your first blast core. Press :r2: to aim then press :cross: or :circle: to throw the car at the enemy. There are tons of cars around New Marais, and enough enemies to kill to get this trophy. If you die after getting one kill with the car it will still count. The only time that it counts is if you get a kill with a car it will say Special Delivery +5 XP on the bottom left side of the screen. Just find a group of the Militia and grab a car and throw it at them until you get this trophy.

In the Shock and Awe trophy, we mention the side mission the Masquerade which gives you plenty of enemies. Go outside the park and pick up cars and throw it at them. Tip thanks to OldSnoova. You do not need to throw 25 cars but simply kill 25 enemies with cars. Example you can kill 5 enemies with a single car and all 5 kills will count.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgWatch That First Step (B)

Defeat an enemy by destroying the object they stand on

There will be a lot of things that are breakable in Infamous 2. Select an enemy that is standing on a balcony and simply use your grenades to blow that object they stand on. The very first chance you get to unlock this trophy is in mission #3, Forward Momentum. Once you reach the main Island and have to follow Kuo, you will see one member of the Militia on a balcony that will shoot rockets at you, throw a Grenade (press and hold :l1: to aim and use :ls: to move your aim cursor and press :square: to shoot grenades) at the balcony. After the grenades explodes the balcony will be destroyed and the militia along with it.

Climb a chain link fence and rejoice

This trophy can be unlocked on both islands as long as you see a metal chain linked fence (no wooden fence). Simply jump onto the fence and jump down. The very first chance you get to unlock this trophy is in mission #2, Breaking into New Marais. Right after you lower the bridge there will be your first fence there.

Ascend 50 vertical launch poles

The poles are found throughout both islands. The poles are short in length and have a yellow light blinking at the bottom of the pole. If you jump on the poles it becomes electrified and turns yellow and hurls you vertically. Simply jump onto the pole 50 times and the trophy is yours. It does NOT have to be 50 different poles, you can complete this trophy in less than 5 minutes if you simply jump onto the same pole you find over and over again till the trophy pops up. Video below shows how to do, simply repeat the steps till the trophy pops up. The very first pole is found as soon as you enter New Marais for the very first time in front of you.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgMountaineer (B)

Climb to the top of the 3 tallest buildings in New Marais

For this trophy you must climb to the very top of these buildings. Will provide a map of locations of these buildings and they are:

  • Cathedral - 1st island. You will see this building when you do the Bertrand story mission and is visible from most points on the map. You can either climb up at that point, or go at a later time. Select a side of the church and climb till you cant go any higher.
  • Clocktower - 1st island. Very early on in the game you will need to obtain a dead drop from a bird and this will require you to make it half to the top. During this mission simply climb the rest of the way and you’re set.
  • Ice Tower - 2nd island. The very last blast core is set on top of a building mostly covered with ice in the top right section of the map. When you do the blast core mission you will go 96% of the way up and you MUST make it on top of the antenna up there.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/571/29.jpgNothing Can Bring Me Down (B)

Stay off the ground for 130 meters

This is best going for once you have absorbed the Third Blast core. Giving your thrusters a boost and letting you hover for longer periods of time. There are 3 known locations that this can be achieved: The Clocktower, The Cathedral and Ice Tower and another glitch location (method 4).

Method 1

Clocktower- this building is located on the first island. This is where you will get your first Dead drop. You must get to the very top of the tower and jump off while gliding towards the bridge.

Method 3

Ice Tower- this building is located on the second island on the right part. On the map it will be a big circle and a square within the circle. Keep in mind that you cannot get to the top until you have charged that part of the island in order to use the vertical poles.

Method 4

When you are doing your Evil karma at the last mission of the game you can side with a certain character and when you do it tells you to hit :cross:. When you do you float near the person and can stay floating for as long as you want which would be more than enough to net you the trophy. Tip thanks to TheMasta7.

There is no multiplayer in this game and for this trophy you wont need the online capability (can be done offline). Press :start: to pause and scroll down to User-Generated Content and Press :cross:, from there Go to Create mission From Template or Create Empty Mission to create you own event. Creating a mission from Template will be the easiest way to earn this trophy, Pick any event type and then quit and save to earn this trophy. You can also complete this by simply going to any UGC mission (green icons) on your map and when you are near enough do not press :r1: to start but rather press :square: to Remix the current event then press :start: and Exit Mission Designer.

Play 5 user-generated missions under the Newest filter

From the Main Menu in game, Press :start: and head to User-Generated Content > Mission Filters > The first option change it to Newest and then play five user Generated missions under that filter. They will be the green icons that show up on the mini and big map when you press :select:. This will also count towards the UGC Veteran trophy.

Complete 10 user-generated content missions. This trophy can be unlocked/completed offline. Please see UGC Veteran for more info.

Play 25 user-generated missions

They are the green icons that show up on your map and mini map. Playing them 25 times will net you this trophy. This trophy can be unlocked/completed in offline as well. They range from different mission and can take up to 5-20 minutes. You can restart or abandon a mission if you are having trouble completing any of them. They will also give you XP depending on how difficult the missions are. It will only count if you complete the UGC mission, if you abandon it midway it will NOT count. You do not need to create a filter for Newest mission, any mission you complete will count. Of all the UGC mission this should be your last to work on.

The best way is to find a mission that you like and its pretty fast to complete and once you finished the mission it will give you the option to rate it and toggle it as favorite and if you want to recommend it. Make it favorite > Yes. After that press :start: >then go to User Generated Content > Mission Filters > My Favorites. After that on the entire map there will be only you favorite mission as a green icon. Simply complete the mission until the trophy unlocks.

Nice man I can now rent this game with peace :)

One question, are all the story related trophies unmissable as long as you stick to the karma choice of your preference for the playthrough?

Yes, just make sure to stick directly to good/bad karma choice (Whatever you decided to play as) and you will have no problems at all.

As long as you stick to the karma choice of preference as you say, you will not have a problem. You can get the other Karma trophies that way if you want, but that will mess up your full positive/negative Karma.

first thank you :D

second, yes as long as you stick to the karma you wont miss them.

keep in mind that if you pick a karma you will use that part as well as the Good or Evil part for non-karma related story trophies.

hello and thanks for the guide

i have the game since monday and playing my first playtrough on good karma

I have a question:

does the blast shards already collected will have to be collected again on my hard evil karma playtrough? i already have all the dead drops but the same question could applied to them too.

Suggestions:

can you add to the power list, the stunt we have to perform in order to buy it ?

Some tips from my experience:

For "Nothing Can Bring Me Down" trophy, once you have your thrusters upgraded you can get it by jumping from the cathedral

For "Take Them For A Spin", you can hurl some cars and put them middle of the street & wait some others cars to come, next you can use the ionic vortex

For "Shock and Awe", i saw quite a few UGC missions that can allow you to earn this trophy, don't know if it works as i already get it before i go into that part of the game

Just a note, doing the thunder drop for the flop trophy does not require you to hit the ground. I unlocked it by dropping onto a group of conduits on a building nearby. Also used thrusters first for a few seconds to get in position to hit said building.

cathedral i will add as well.

UGC you can complete any number of them does not matter which ones or if they are new they all count.

EDIT: blast shards onces they are collected on a playtrough and you start a new game it does NOT carry over. you have to collect them all over again
