Section 2. Introduction

Section 2.1 Introduction

Shadow of the Colossus is a HD upgrade of the game that originally came out in 2005. While certain things were lacking in the North American release, everything that was in the game in other regions are here. If you've played it back on PS2 you'll find that everything is exactly where it was before. The only change in the game is miniscule but can make earning all the trophies a exercise in frustration. Many of the trophies are simple to achieve and require a little skill, but the few will put your patience to the test.

Section 3. Walkthrough

Section 3.1 Normal Story Mode

Begin a new game and work your way through the 16 different colossi. You can kill all 77 lizards on this playthrough but it will be more difficult without the Detection Stone you earn from the Time Attacks. Skip collecting the fruit as you won't be able to earn the trophy for them until you greatly increase your stamina gauge. You should however search the land for all 25 Save Temples and save your game at each one for the related trophy. Once you open up the final area use the final save temple and defeat the final colossus. If you missed any missable trophy don't worry too much about it, you'll be playing through the game a few more times.

Section 3.2 Normal Time Attack

Load up the save you made after the credits rolled. You're now in a New Game + Mode and from here you can go through the Time Attack of each Colossi. Some Time Attacks are easy and others are hard, but stick with it. After defeating all 16 Time Attacks you can get all 8 items in the pool at the back of the temple. With all 8 items earned save your game and exit out to the Main Menu.

Trophies Earned

(S) Collector

Section 3.3 Hard Story Mode

With the game beaten on Normal Mode, Hard Mode becomes selectable at the main menu. Choose Hard Mode and play all the way through the game, DO NOT at any point overwrite your normal mode post-game save. As the name suggests, the game is harder as every colossus takes more damage to kill and some have additional weak points you must destroy. If you missed either of the missable trophies on your first playthrough, you can earn them on this one. Make it through all 16 colossi and the final part of the game, once the credits roll be sure to save your game.

Trophies Earned

(S) Wander and the Forbidden

Section 3.4 Hard Time Attack

Load up the save you made after the credits rolled on your Hard playthrough. Just like with the Normal Time Attack, you'll have to fight your way through all 16 colossi again but with their Hard Mode stats. This is the most difficult part of the game and can take many hours as some colossi require you to be very fast and some are very dependent on luck. If you make it through all 16 on their Hard Time Attack you'll have the hardest part behind you.

Trophies Earned

(G) Meticulous Collector

Section 3.5 Subsequent playthroughs

Load up your Normal Time Attack save and if you don't have all the items, you should have them before doing this part. Race through the game and kill all 16 colossi again; if you have not earned the trophy for killing all the lizards, now is the time to get it. Colossi reward health and stamina better so focus on killing them and once you've beaten the game again, sit through the credits and save your game. If you only collected all lizard tails once, you'll have to play through the game 3 more times to earn maximum stamina. You can collect every lizard tail on every playthrough but it's much quicker to focus on the bosses and let your stamina increase from there. Once you have maximum stamina you'll need to collect all 128 pieces of fruit on the map. With maximum grip and all fruit eaten, head back to Dormin's Temple and climb to the secret garden at the top of the temple. Once you're at the top, collect all 48 pieces of fruit for your final trophy.

Trophies Earned

(G) Endangered Lizards (Missable)

(G) Stalwart Wanderer

(G) Mighty Wanderer

(G) Climber

(G) Cornucopia

Acquired all Trophies

It's the platinum trophy, get all other trophies to earn this one.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/02.jpgValley Wanderer (B)

Defeat 1st Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your first target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head directly south from Dormin's Temple and climb the canyon to reach the colossus.

Fighting

Jump onto the back of its left leg and stab the crevice until it kneels down. Jump and climb up its rear to the platform on its back. Climb further up its back to the top of its head and stab the symbol until it dies.

Hard Mode

There is an additional symbol on its right tricep. You can jump to it from one of the platform on its back or slide down its right arm to it.

Time Attack

You have a very small time limit to work with here and it starts a good distance away and will continue walking away. Start by pressing :cross: to whistle and get his attention as you run towards him.

Defeat 2nd Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your second target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head across the northern bridge to the west of the temple. Head right when the path forks and approach the cave to reach the colossus.

Fighting

With your bow in hand, get behind the colossus and aim at the white spots on the bottom of its feet to bring it down. Climb the leg you took out; if you shot a front foot start with the symbol at its head, if you shot a back foot start with the symbol at its rear. Destroy both symbols to kill it.

Hard Mode

There is an additional symbol on its left flank. This should be the final symbol as there's nowhere close to rest.

Time Attack

This time attack also has a short time frame to work with, it's important to bring him down fast and try not to fall off.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/04.jpgDisturbed Sleep (B)

Defeat 3rd Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your third target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head across the northern bridge to the west of the temple. Veer slightly left and head between the two mountain ranges into a dark valley. You'll reach a lake with a structure in the middle, climb the structure to reach the colossus.

Fighting

Lure it to one of the edges of the platform then run to the middle and stand on the pedestal. When he swings his weapon, dodge it and watch his bracelet break. Now while standing on the ground, dodge another sword swing and climb the sword. From here you can jump from the bracelet to his waist or go to his head. Once one symbol is down you can climb (or fall) along his back to the other symbol and once both are destroyed the colossus will die.

Hard Mode

There is an additional symbol on its left tricep. It's best to destroy the stomach symbol first, then the head and finally the one on his arm.

Time Attack/Alternate Method

This will probably be the fight that stops you from earning all the items. There is another (quicker) way to mount this colossus which is a necessity to complete its Hard Time Attack. From the start of the battle, roll forward 3-5 times to coax him into swinging his weapon at you. Climb the weapon halfway and when he retracts his weapon you can jump (carefully time it) to his waist. This method is hard to learn but is practically a requirement for his Time Attack.

From here you'll need to bait him into specific movements. Jump to his right hand and climb to the second level of his gauntlet; this will get him to start shaking his right arm. Once he starts shaking his arm, jump back to his belt and stab his stomach until he starts moving again. Repeat the gauntlet/belt jumps until his stomach symbol is gone.

Now position yourself on the second step of the gauntlet to get him to shake. Run up his arm to his head and stab it a few times until he starts shaking. Return to his arm to make him shake it and repeat this with stabbing his head until the symbol is gone.

Now go back to the second step of the gauntlet and when he starts shaking his arm, run across his back to his left tricep and stab him until the symbol is gone for the kill.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/05.jpgPath of Gravestones (B)

Defeat 4th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your fourth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head east from the temple and into a canyon. Once you get out of the canyon, follow the path down to four mounds and head past them to find the colossus.

Fighting

Immediately turn around and head to the mound furthest from you, keep its attention with arrows if needed. When it gets close drop down and enter the cave on the backside of the mound. Now run down either path, skipping the first exit but use the second exit you come to. Exist the cave and without showing yourself to the colossus, use the camera to watch it. Once the colossus kneels down to look into the cave you can grab onto its tail. Work your way up its back and stab the crevice in its neck for it to lower its head. Once its head is down, jump onto its head and stab the symbol until it dies.

Hard Mode

There are two additional symbols in Hard Mode, one on each front shoulder. The colossus moves a lot and these are hard to stab, but you can simply jump from its shoulder onto its back without wasting grip.

Time Attack

This is another tough Colossus as the time limit is very small. How quickly you can mount the colossus will end up being what makes or breaks you. On Hard Time Atttack, it should take you no more then 1:45:00 to get onto the Colossus.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/06.jpgAerial Dance (B)

Defeat 5th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your fifth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head east from the temple, stay north but do not cross the crevice and follow the path until you reach a dark lake. Jump in the water and swim to the ruins, press :r1: to submerge yourself and get to the center. Climb up the wall and follow the path and jump down into the lake. Hold :l1: to focus the colossus and swim towards it, there should be a few platforms nearby. Stand on a platform and shoot an arrow at it to start the fight.

Fighting

It will fly at you, jump to the left or right of its head to grab onto it and hold on tight as it takes to the air. There are three symbols on the colossus; one on each wingtip and one at the far end of its tail. Destroy all three symbols to kill it.

Hard Mode

There is no additional crevices or symbols on Hard Mode.

Time Attack

The game waste some time as you have to do the swim but the most important thing here is do not fall off. If you fall off you won't have enough time to remount and finish it off.

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your sixth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head southwest from the temple and enter the forest, take the exit that's not a dead end. From here it's simple to follow your sword to a ruin built into a mountain. Enter the ruin and make your way to a big chamber, drop down to the bottom to start the fight.

Fighting

Turn away from the colossus and climb over the walls until you reach the back wall with the pillars. Stay hidden until the colossus leans down to look in at you, now charge him and jump onto its beard. Climb up to the top of its head and stab it until the symbol disappears, now drop to the left of its backside for the second symbol. Stab the symbol until the colossus dies.

Hard Mode

There is an additional symbol on its left hand. After destroying the first two symbols dismount and run back to the hiding spot. When it kneels down, run to its hand and jump at it for the hand to lay flat. Jump onto the back of its hand and give it one powerful stab before dismounting and running away to hide. Repeat the hand stab to hiding until it dies.

*Once you stab his hand he will keep flailing until you let go, so do yourself a favor and let go.

Time Attack

This is another time attack where the time frame is small. You need to be fast to make it in time, no tricks or anything just be quick about it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/08.jpgWaves of Thunder (B)

Defeat 7th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your seventh target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head across the northern bridge to the west of the temple. Veer slightly left and enter the canyon that led to the third colossus. Once you reach the lake follow the path to the left and through a canyon. The path will fork twice, head right both times and when you exit the canyon turn left to reach an archway that leads to a lake. Jump in the lake to start the fight.

Fighting

Swim out into the water a bit and simply hold still, the boss will come for you eventually. When you see it rising towards you, swim to the left or right to avoid its three shock attacks but get lined up to grab onto its tail. Once you grab its tail it will surface and use the small moments to work your way up to its first spark prong, stab the crevice at the base of the prong. Keep moving up its body and stab the crevice at its second and third prong to remove them. Head to its head but climb, don't walk otherwise it'll do a quick dive and throw you back. Once you're on its head start stabbing the symbol. It will bob in and out of the water, you can't stab underwater so you won't be able to get a fully powered stab on it. It will eventually dive deep underwater to throw you off, so just release. Now simply repeat what you just did, wait for it to approach but this time you won't need to avoid its sparks.

Hard Mode

There are no additional crevices or symbols on Hard Mode

Time Attack

As long as you don't fall off early or miss too many head stabs you should be able to complete this Time Attack with a good amount of time left on the clock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/09.jpgWall Scaler (B)

Defeat 8th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your eighth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head south from the temple and enter the canyon to the left. Ignore the path that forks off to the right and continue until the path splits left and right; the wall in front of you should have an entrance and that's where you need to go. Follow the narrow path until you reach a lake with some ruins on the other side, enter the ruins and go into them until you reach an arena type place and encounter the Colossus.

Fighting

Standing on any floor (besides the first), shoot an arrow at the boss to get its attention then run and hide. If it shoots at you, DO NOT STAND IN THE ORANGE CLOUD! IT WILL KILL YOU VERY FAST! Walk around the arena area and when you see it climbing on the walls, shoot two of its legs to drop it to the floor. Drop down to the ground and jump on its stomach area and stab one of the two symbols. When he starts rocking jump off and go hide in the arena again and repeat shooting him off walls until you kill him. The higher the colossus is when he falls will reward you with him being stunned longer for stabbings.

Hard Mode

There are no additional crevices or symbols on Hard Mode.

Time Attack

This time attack is strict but not as bad as some of the others. It's easier if you can lure the colossi to the top floor and drop it from there. If you can drop it from the top and get to it fast enough you can completely remove one symbol.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/10.jpgSlumbering Caveman (B)

Defeat 9th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your ninth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head west from the temple and follow the light to an area that's naturally dark. From there find a bridge across a crevice which leads to barren land with geysers. Follow the light to the colossus.

Fighting

Get on Agro and run away as fast as possible. Get far away from the colossus and be sure to put a geyser between you and it. Lure the boss over a geyser and wait for it to erupt; when it's being lifted use your bow and shoot the pads of its two feet that are touching the ground to flip the boss onto its back. Climb onto a leg that's on the ground and climb up to it's side eventually onto its back when it flips back up. Move up to the top of its head and stab the symbol until it dies.

Hard Mode

There are no additional crevices or symbols on Hard Mode.

Time Attack

This time attack isn't too hard but can prove difficult if you have a hard time getting it over a geyser. If you have no problem getting the boss into position this Time Attack is simple.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/11.jpgUnknown Tracks (B)

Defeat 10th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your tenth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head west from the temple and follow the light around or through the area where you fought Colossus 9. Enter a canyon and once you exit on the other side, turn left into a tunnel to encounter the colossus.

Fighting

Immediately mount Agro and get in front of the colossus. Lead him around the area but use your bow to turn around and shoot him in an eye when you see them. Get out from in front of him and follow him until he hits a wall. Mount the colossus from its tail section; climb until you find a symbol and stab it until it disappears. The colossus will burrow into the sand; simply repeat the process to make it crash then mount it and destroy the second symbol (further up its body) to kill it.

Hard Mode

There are no additional crevices or symbols on Hard Mode.

Time Attack

This time attack is low on time but isn't too hard if you're competent at getting the colossus to crash. If you can't get him to crash early enough you may have a hard time making the time limit

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/12.jpgGuardian Unleashed (B)

Defeat 11th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your eleventh target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head north from the temple and follow the bridge high in the sky. Near the border of the map will be a crevice the bridge runs over. On the east side of the crevice is a narrow path leading down into the crevice. Reach the bottom and enter the ruins on the other side of the crevice to encounter the colossus.

Fighting

Immediately run forward (towards the colossus) but dodge to its left or right and hide in a nook next to one of the braziers. Climb the brazier and coax the colossus into charging the brazier, this will knock a stick loose. Keep coaxing the colossus to attack and when it charges again, jump down and grab the stick before climbing back onto the brazier. Swing the stick into the fire to light the tip of it and now jump down to the floor. The colossus will back away from the flame so back him up until he falls over the ledge overlooking the entire crevice area; you will get a scene and see his armor being ripped off. Drop the stick and jump down onto the colossus (he won't get up if you don't go down to him) and grab onto his back. If you have good footing you can stab the symbol but if not ride him up the path until you're back in the brazier room. Climb back onto a brazier and when he charges, jump onto his back and give him a good stab. Repeat jumping from the brazier and stabbing until it dies.

Hard Mode

There are no additional crevices or symbols in Hard Mode.

Time Attack

This Time Attack is a little generous with its time as long as you can remove his armor fast enough. If you don't get a good footing when you first jump onto him, you'll lose some time riding him back to the top but not enough to worry.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR3tAAdbfT8]SotC: Hard Time Attack 11 - YouTube[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/13.jpgSilent Thunder (B)

Defeat 12th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your twelfth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head north from the temple, via the eastern bridge and enter the forest. Follow the right side of the forest to reach a narrow path. Follow the path to a lake; grab onto the pillar and shimmy around until you can jump in the lake. Swim towards the structures until you encounter the colossus.

Fighting

Your first order of business is to get on its head. So jump in the water and try to get on its backside which is where you can climb up it. If the colossus is looking at you, you can swim between its body and limbs to eventually reach its back. Once there climb up its back to the top of its head; now take note of the three grey things. Striking one set of grey rocks will direct the colossus on where to go; left, straight or right. Direct it to get near one of the white structures and when it gets close enough, jump onto the structure. It will shoot at you so hide behind the central pedestal. Coax the colossus into showing its symbol by shooting arrows at it; when it rears up and puts its hooves on the structure you can jump down onto its chest to stab the symbol. The symbol will only take two stabs before the colossus gets back in the water so make sure they're fully powered. Repeat the process of mounting, directing and stabbing until the colossus dies.

Hard Mode

There are no additional crevices or symbols on Hard Mode.

Time Attack

Normal Time Attack isn't too difficult and you should be able to finish with plenty of time, while Hard may have you cutting it close. The hardest part is getting on its back, if the colossus continues to move away from you or your camera ruins your attempt to get behind him you may not be able to make the time limit.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/14.jpgSigns in the Sky (B)

Defeat 13th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your thirteenth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head southwest from the temple and enter the forest. Exit the forest and follow the light to the colossus.

Fighting

Mount Agro and follow the colossus around the sky. Use your bow to shoot its three big white air sacs which will bring it lower to the ground. Run Agro along side one of its wings and jump from Agro onto its wing. Climb the wing and jump from it onto its main body; if you take too long to climb it'll straighten its wing out which makes it easier to jump onto its body. From there run towards its tail to find its three symbols. Each symbol is protected by a flap on the colossi's body. Stab the symbol until it disappears and the colossus will bank twice before doing a barrel roll to remove you. If you're fast enough you can make it to the next Symbol and get one good stab before the colossus will close its flaps and dive under the sand. When the colossus re-emerges from the sand just repeat the process of bringing it down, mounting it and stabbing it until it dies.

Hard Mode

There are no additional crevices or symbols on Hard Mode.

Time Attack

You have plenty of time to do this Time Attack, you can even screw up a bit and still manage it on time. You can also speed things up by purposely getting thrown off the colossus after destroying a symbol. When you destroy a symbol the colossus will submerge if you stay on it, however if you get thrown off (or jump off) the colossus will stay in the air which will completely skip the submerging part of the fight.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/15.jpgShielded Colossus (B)

Defeat 14th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your fourteenth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head west from the temple on a very similar route to Colossus 10. Follow the light through a different canyon and once you reach the other side, turn left and follow the path flanked by stone pillars until you reach ruins, enter the ruins to encounter the colossus.

Fighting

This fight is more of a platform puzzle than a fight.

Jump onto the fallen pillar to your left and use it to reach the H-shaped platform and then jump onto the broken wall. Jump from the wall to a long H-shaped platform and continue forward until and jump onto a giant round pillar. Get to the top of the pillar and coax the colossus into attacking the pillar, two attacks should bring the pillar down. Jump from that pillar to another H-shaped platform and from there to a wall, to another H-shaped platform and onto another round pillar. Coax the colossus into attacking you and move between pillars and have it bring each one down. Once you reach a large square structure, climb up it and shimmy around to its side to where you can jump on one more round pillar. When the pillar falls it'll open up a new area, in the back of the area is a climbable wall you'll need to head up. Once you're above the colossus, coax him one more time and he'll bring the platform you're on down on top of him and remove his armor. Now it's just like the Colossus 11 fight, get out of reach and have him charge a wall or pillar to stun himself while you jump on his back and stab him until he's dead.

Hard Mode

There are no additional crevices or symbols on Hard Mode.

Time Attack

As long as you know where to jump and what-not you should have no problem finishing this Time Attack.

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your fifteenth target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head north from the temple and follow the giant bridge to the crevice where Colossus 11 was. Turn east at the crevice to find some ruins, enter them and head all the way to the back of the large open area to encounter the colossus.

Fighting

Run to one of the sides of the area you're in and look for a spot where the wall is shorter, now stand in front of that spot. The colossus will approach and try to step on you, his hoof will tilt the platform up and give enough of a boost for you to jump onto the next level. Now shoot arrows at him to coax him into attacking the structure; blocks will fall and you stand on those and climb up to the next level. Use the stairs to reach the top level and walk out onto one of the bridges. Don't stand too far into the middle, you'll want to coax him into attacking the bridge but you'll want to be close enough to a side to not fall when he attacks. After he smashes the bridge, stand near the destroyed side and when he gets close to you, jump on him. Move to the top of his head and stab the symbol until it disappears. Climb (or drop) down to his right tricep and stab the crevice to make him drop his weapon. Do not let go of :r1:, you can get stepped on and die if you dismount during the scene. Once the scene is over, drop to the ground and stand in front of him. You want him to attack with his fist, when he does dodge it and approach his hand and climb into his palm. Stab the symbol in his palm until he dies.

Hard Mode

There is an additional symbol on his left pectoral (chest). This can be a pain to stab as the constant movement will have Wander flailing around and unable to do much of anything. If your grip gets to even half I suggest climbing to his shoulders to rest.

Time Attack

This is the second most frustrating boss on Hard Time Attack. On Normal it's a simple fight and you can finish with plenty of time. But getting his Hard symbol in a timely manner without falling off is an exercise in frustration. Expect to spend a few good hours here.

Defeat 16th Colossus

This trophy is storyline related and cannot be missed. This is your sixteenth and final target in the game, bring him down to earn this trophy.
Finding

Head south from the temple, enter the canyon and take the path that forks right. Follow the light all the way to the structure between the two mountains. Stand on the pedestal and shine light through the hole in the structure to open the way. The missable save point is right inside here, so if you're attempting Tower of Prayer be sure not to miss it. Follow the stairs upward and to a bridge; Agro will have to gallop to make it across the bridge. From this point on just climb the structure until you come face to face with your final mark.

Fighting

Move up the stairs and take cover behind the pillar, move to the right and dive into the hole. Follow the path around until you're back outside and taking cover. Move to the right and again dive into another hole, follow the path until you're outside again and move right once. The last structure is too far for you to run or dive behind. Dive near the ledge of the path you took and shimmy to the right until you're behind cover and now drop down into the final hole. Follow the path and you'll find yourself at its feet. Climb the wall and work your way up the platforms until you're at the colossi's mid-section. Move to its back and stab the crevice; he will move his left hand to his back and you need to jump into it. Climb off his hand and up his arm to another crevice; stabbing this one will bring his right hand to you and you need to jump into it. Climb to the top of his right hand and stab it to make it hold still. Now use your bow and shoot an arrow into a crevice in his left shoulder; this will make him move his hand to his shoulder. Dismount his hand and climb up to the top of his head. Introduce the symbol to your sword until the colossus is dead.

If you need some help making him hold still, dismount the head and stab the crevice in the shoulder.

Hard Mode

There are no additional crevices or symbols on Hard Mode.

Time Attack

This Time Attack isn't that hard even though it's the final boss. As long as you don't make too many mistakes there is no reason you cannot make the time limit.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/21.jpgSlippery Ride (B)

Hang onto the fish for over 30 seconds

In various lakes around the area are big fish which swim around. I can't say for certain how many lizard tails you might need, but you will have enough grip after defeating 7 colossi. Go to a lake with a fish (one at C-3, another at G-6) and position yourself right above one. Hold :r1: and let the fish drag you around until your grip runs out. If you held on long enough the trophy will pop after you let go.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/21.jpgHang Glider (B)

Hang onto the hawk for over 30 seconds

There are numerous hawks flying around all over the land. I can't say for certain how many lizard tails you might need, but you will have enough grip after defeating 7 colossi. You can try to jump from Agro and grab a hawk but that method is random and difficult; so head to grid D-5 and find the save temple. Slightly south of the temple is a drop off with a few stones at the edge. A hawk will fly directly over the middle stone, so wait for it and hold :r1: when it flies by; let it drag you around until your grip runs out. If you held on long enough the trophy will pop after you let go.

Clear the game in normal difficulty

Go through the game and defeat all 16 colossi. After the last colossi is dead you have the end game sequence to go through. Once that is over the final scene and credits will play. Make it through the credits to the post game save screen to earn this trophy.

See each individual colossus trophy for details on how to defeat them.

Clear the game in hard difficulty

This trophy is just like The Forbidden, but you must defeat all 16 colossi on Hard Mode which is more difficult and is available after beating the game on Normal Mode. Go through the game and you'll earn this trophy at the post game save screen.

See each individual colossus trophy for details on how to defeat them.

Endure being sucked into the light for over 1 minute in the ending

After defeating the 16th colossi you will be put into the ending scenario. Once Wander is back to human size and the light starts sucking you in, you must hold out for at least 60 seconds before falling victim to the light. You can try running away but Wander will be tripped and sucked towards the light. Hold :r1: and when Wander flies by the staircase he will grab onto it; hold onto the staircase until his grip runs out. This trophy is missable but does not require a massive amount of grip; I obtained this trophy on my first playthrough and I did not earn a single lizard tail.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/26.jpgTower of Prayer (S)

Save at all save points

This trophy is missable but thankfully it involves saving your game so you can always make an easy reload. There are 25 save temples in the game, one of which only becomes available at the end of the game. You must kneel and save at every single save temple in a single playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/26.jpgAgro Circus (S)

Perform all stunt riding using Agro

This trophy has proven to be a little finicky but not enough to be warranted as glitched. To earn this trophy you must perform various tricks while riding Agro.

Pet Agro = While standing near Agro's head or in her saddle, have your hands empty and press :circle: to pet her.

*You must pet Agro while seated in the saddle and standing next to her.

Quick Start = From a dead stop press +:cross:, Agro should rare up then take off into a gallop.

Quick Stop = From a gallop press +:cross:, Agro should drag her hind quarters across the ground to a quick stop.

Quick Turn = From a gallop press +:cross: twice, Agro should drag her hind quarters like the Quick Stop but then quickly turn around.

Stand and Ride = From a canter or gallop hold :r1:+, Wander should stand up completely.

Hang Left = From a canter or gallop hold :r1:+:triangle: and press :lsleft:, Wander should hang down to the left side of the saddle.

Hang Right = From a canter or gallop hold :r1:+:triangle: and press :lsright:, Wander should hang down to the right side of the saddle.

Agro Jump = Agro can jump off small cliffs or other terrain, find a spot and have her gallop towards it; if she can jump it she will.

Jump from Agro = Anytime you're mounted on Agro, press :triangle: and Wander will jump off her.

You can have Agro keep her momentum by holding :cross: after getting her up to speed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/26.jpgCollector (S)

Acquire all items available in normal time attack

To reach normal time attack mode you need to beat the game on normal mode and have a save file after the credits roll. Load that save and you'll be in a New Game +. In Dormin's Temple, approach any of the 16 statues and press :circle:. Wander will kneel down and you will be asked if you wish to attempt the Time Attack; say yes and kill the boss within the target time. Every time you accomplish two Time Attack scores, an item will appear in the shallow pool at the back of the temple. Complete all 16 Time Attacks and pick up all 8 items to earn this trophy. Time Attack Mode will have Wander's stats at the bare minimum of what they would've been during the story and you cannot use any earned items against the Time Attack Colossi.

You have 4 item slots that can be customized; Face (Mask), Body (Cloak), Sword and Bow.

Items available in Normal Time Attack

2 - Whistling Arrow; this item distracts colossi if you shoot an arrow past their body.

4 - Cloak of Force; this item increases your attack power, letting you kill colossi faster.

6 - Mask of Strength; this item increases your attack power, letting you kill colossi faster.

8 - Lizard Detection Stone; this item will show white-tailed lizards on your map if you're close to them.

10 - Fruit Tree Map; this item will show all 128 fruit items scattered around the world.

*This item will not show any Forbidden Fruit.

12 - Mask of Power; this item increases your attack power, letting you kill colossi faster.

*This mask is stronger than the Mask of Strength.

14 - Cloak of Deception; this item conceals your presence from colossi.

16 - Flash Arrow; this item lets your arrows do much more damage to a colossi.

*You will still need to stab their symbols to kill them.

After collecting all 8 items you can change Agro's color to brown by holding :square: while selecting your game mode at the main menu.

WARNING: There is a small glitch in the game that was carried over from the PS2. You have to defeat all 16 Time Attacks on a single game. If you defeat 1 or more but less than 16 then beat the game and come back on the next cycle you will glitch the game. On the second cycle the game will show you beating the Time Attack, but you will have to go through all the Time Attacks you've already cleared to earn all the items, so it is best to clear all Time Attacks on one playthrough.

6 - Fruit Tree Map; this item will show all 128 fruit items scattered around the world.

*This item will not show any Forbidden Fruit.

8 - Shaman's Cloak; this item will reduce all damage from colossi attacks.

10 - Lizard Detection Stone; this item will show white-tailed lizards on your map if you're close to them.

12 - Shaman's Mask; this item will reduce all damage from colossi attacks.

14 - Cloak of Desperation; this item will allow Wander to float slowly to the ground when falling.

16 - Queen's Sword; the most powerful weapon in the game, it can destroy a symbol in one hit.

After collecting all 8 items and saving your game, you can change Agro's color to white by holding :circle: while selecting your game mode at the main menu.

WARNING: There is a small glitch in the game that was carried over from the PS2. You have to defeat all 16 Time Attacks on a single game. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/31.jpgEndangered Lizards (G)

Killed all shining lizards

There are an infinite amount of lizards crawling around in the game, but only 77 shining lizards. You can easily identify a shining lizard as its tail is white and not black like the rest of its body. Unlike the normal lizards, these ones prefer to hide and so it can be difficult to track them down. This is much easier to do once you beaten the main game and obtained the Lizard Detection Stone from the Time Attacks. You must kill all 77 of the shining lizards in a single playthrough for this trophy.

See the Shining Lizard Guide for specific details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/31.jpgStalwart Wanderer (G)

Max out HP bar

There are two ways to gain HP in this game; one is by defeating the colossi and the other is by finding the fruit scattered around the land. The fruit is up in trees and can be difficult to see or even know it's there, but you can get a Fruit Tree Map from the Time Attack which will highlight every piece of fruit on your in game map. You can earn this trophy by the end of your first playthrough by collecting most of the fruit. However you'll need to beat the game several times and defeating all the colossi will help you max out your health, so to save time ignore the fruit until you're ready to earn the Cornucopia trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/31.jpgMighty Wanderer (G)

Maxed out stamina bar

There are two ways to gain stamina in this game; one if by defeating the colossi and the other is by eating the tails of shining lizards. You can gain tails from white-tailed lizards when going for the Endangered Lizard trophy. While gaining white lizard tails does help, hunting lizards is a lot slower then defeating the colossi in the game. It may take more playthroughs, but defeating colossi will save you time. If you eat every shining lizard tail in the game once, you should earn this trophy at the end of your fourth playthrough.

Lizard Tail Exploit
There is an exploit from the PS2 version which is still relevant here. If you shoot a lizard in the tail, the lizard will tear his tail off and run away, collect the tail and save your game. Reload your save and the lizard will be back with a fresh new tail. You can do this over and over but lizard tails give very little grip and this still takes more time than hunting colossi.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/31.jpgClimber (G)

Reached the top of the shrine

The shrine the game is talking about is Dormin's Temple. On the back of the temple is a large growth of vines, if you have enough stamina you can actually climb to the top of the temple to a secret garden. There was an exploit in the PS2 version but it was removed in this game. They also removed any resting points so you will need to have a lot of stamina to reach the top. I advise doing this trophy once you have maximum stamina, so you know you can make it to the top. Once you're done climbing turn to your left and go up the stairs to the garden to earn this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/874/31.jpgCornucopia (G)

Acquired all fruits in the world

This trophy isn't just talking about the fruit that increases your HP. On the top of Dormin's Temple is a secret garden with 48 pieces of forbidden fruit growing on it (see Climber on how to get there). Eating this fruit will reduce you stamina and health which you will spend a great deal increasing. To earn this trophy you will need to eat all 128 pieces of HP increasing fruit and all 48 pieces of stamina decreasing fruit so be sure to save before you climb to the garden.

There are 128 fruit across the land but only 33 marks on your map, which means there are multiple pieces of fruit in the area. When hunting the fruit around the land there is a chance it will fall into the ground. You can still collect the fruit by standing where it landed. If you cannot find it, leave the area and then go back to find it back on the tree. The fruit that increases your health comes in a variety of looks; Yellow Banana, Orange Persimmon, and Brown Pineapple while the Forbidden Fruit looks like giant Red Cherries.

IMPORTANT: There are two pieces of fruit on a tree in E-5. When you shoot them off the tree they fall down over a cliff. It is safe for you to fall down the cliff and still claim the fruit.

The Forbidden Fruit on top of Dormin's Temple can be very difficult to find. The fruit can also change colors if you reload your game. They're easier to find when they're a lighter color and do not blend in with the tree leaves.

The 128 fruit are shown as the yellow marks on the map.

I'm confused about maxing out stamina and health. Is there a new game + where your stats carry over, and do they not carry over to hard mode?

There is a New Game + but only on a specific save file.

I'm a little scatterbrained right now (doing about 5 things at once) but I'll try to break it down to you.

You start a fresh New Game and beat it, you save your game after the credits and you are now in your first New Game +. All White-Tailed Lizards are back, all fruit is back and all 16 colossi are back but you still have your stats from when you beat the game. You can go out and eat lizard tails and fruit and go kill the colossi again. Now after the credits you save you game again, now load that game. You'll be back at the start of the game (all lizards, fruit, colossi) and your stats will be what they were at the end of your second playthrough.

Hard Mode is its own separate entity, you can't go from Normal to Hard Mode. When you start Hard Mode, you have the tiny grip and tiny health Wander. Go eat stuff and kill colossi to beef him up.

Personally you give around what rating in difficulty for the Platinum?

Do you plan on doing a guide for ICO?

Personally, a 7 or 8 just because of what they did with Wander's stability. Gaius (3) is a nightmare on Hard Time Attack as you practically need to use the sword launch technique and even then his slightest movements disrupt Wander's climbing/stabbing ability. If Wander didn't have this problem and it was more like the PS2 version, I'd give it a simple 5.

so we should be getting all lizards and fruits in one playthrought?!

but beside that when we start new game + ill have my health and stamina as it were when i finished first time.. in that way ill just keep my health and stamina get bigger and bigger.. no limits?!

Not every playthrough (if you don't want to) but the more you get the faster the platinum will appear. I'm also not entirely done transcribing all the information but when I am I'm sure your question will be answered. There is a limit to your health and grip... it's just very big.

Edit: My head's pounding, that took longer than expected. Gonna take a break and finish up with adding all fruit and lizard locals tomorrow. There will also be videos courtesy of FlyingToaster, until then any feedback and such is welcome.

I remember playing this on the PS2, but I never did beat the last Colossi, I was damn well close though. So the whole time attack, hard mode and heck, even the lizards and fruit are rather new to me.

But I know that for me, this guide is gonna be useful as anything. I'm certain I will just despise the time attacks as it is. I've beaten the 3rd one....and he was a pain to take care of as it were >.<

Ok I appreciate the roadmap quite a bit I'm just confused as all hell. So the health, stamina, lizards, and fruit should all be done through the same save playthrough, i think i got that much. However, you said there are 77 lizards, but yet we can farm their tails by shooting only the tail. By following that method does that mean we can afford to skip a lizard? Or do we need the individual 77 for the trophy?? Also I saw a fruit map on the comments on the trophies page for this game. There certainly weren't 127 different markers. Do I have to shoot every piece of fruit out of the tree? Also a tiny gripe, for the colossi trophies, wouldn't it help to add an explanation of how to beat them instead of saying take them down? That's really just nitpicking so I apologize. Although clarification to my above bewilderedness would be helpful thanks

(1) Does the fruit tracker show fruit which has been knocked off a tree but not yet eaten? I may have had one drop into the earth and walked away without eating it. I'd hate to go and get all 127 again.

(2) What use are the items you get in time attack? You can't use them in time attack, you can't carry normal items over to hard mode to make it easier... are they just for screwing around (and getting the tails/fruits?)

(3) Is it possible to climb to the top of the main temple with 15 colossi down and 74/77 lizard tails consumed? I haven't popped the max stamina trophy yet, but I'm hoping it goes soon (11/16 colossi down).

(1) I'm not sure farming works, I've never tried it, but as far as I know you need to *kill* all the lizards, all 77, for the trophy. When you get the time attack gift for lizard detection, lizards will still show as alive if you've only severed their tale.

(2) Lots of trees, many with up to 6 fruits on them. In a grove, you can pick up 8-10 easy. So yes, you have to shoot every piece of fruit out of a tree, then eat it (hence my question about the glitched ground eating my fruit and me not realizing it and wondering if the map will detect it, but that's a moot point, since the fruits/lizards/colossi all reset when you new game + to get time attack mode unlocked. Guess I'm going to have to go for the climber and fruit trophies sooner than anticipated, since I already grabbed all the fruits and lizards I could without knowing about the new game+ conditions.

FYI, you CAN get the Stalwart Wanderer Gold trophy for max HP in your 1st playthrough. I got it yesterday while collecting random fruit before heading off to fight the last boss.

The HP bar no longer stretches across the whole screen ala the PS2 days but only about 2/3rds across if even that, keeping in mind the bit of screen space open on its right hand side.

So for me I had to beat 15 Colossi and I ate fruit from as many trees as I could find that weren't out of my way. That did it for me and now I'm capped. Possibly the only Gold I'll get as the others are just way too time consuming and I really wanna move on to ICO.

Yes you can. I had it with about 100 fruit collected and 4-6 colossi down.

You don't have to do everything in a single playthrough, but it helps as killing the lizards gives you tails (which helps your stamina) and eating fruit helps your health. The fruit is also part of the Cornucopia trophy so they're all kind of connected. There are 127 fruit that give you health, but only 33 markers because there are multiple fruit in a tree. I'm not really following on what you mean by about the colossi stuff. Could you elaborate a bit more?

(1) Does the fruit tracker show fruit which has been knocked off a tree but not yet eaten? I may have had one drop into the earth and walked away without eating it. I'd hate to go and get all 127 again...

I tested this personally, I shot fruit out of a tree one at a time and looked at the map before I ate it. The last piece was showing on the map before I ate it and the marker disappeared after I ate it, so I assume it will detect uneaten fruit, unless you walk really far away in which case I'm not certain.

Thanks for the guide, very handy.

Are the lizards and fruits accumulative across playthroughs, or do you have to get all of them in one play through for the ALL Lizards and ALL Fruit trophies?

I know I'll be collecting them in all my playthroughs, but wondering if you have to get every one of them in one playthrough.

thanks.

What I meant about the 16 colossi is for the first 16 trophies, the most detail you go into is "story related, take him down for this trophy". Now if you had planned to go back and write more then I apologize but wouldn't it help to write a small bit on HOW exactly to beat each one? I wouldn't mind helping if that's the case. Just a thought
