Introduction:

I am Alive is the newest post-apocalyptic game, made by Ubisoft. In a much different take than most post-apocalypse games, I am Alive focuses on survival instead of defeating monsters, which are not present in the gameplay. It is a battle against the elements and other survivors who wish you harm. Your biggest enemy will be your own body, whether it can last through to find your wife or if you will become just another body on the side of the road.

Step One:

Highly recommend you play through on normal first. Make sure you help every victim, it is recommended that you read through the guide listed in Ultimate Rescuer before you play so you don’t miss anything or use any consumable you can't get back to. Also make sure you get Elevator repair service. You should also get all of the machete quick kill trophies but you will have to work pretty hard to beat the game without getting them anyway, so it is a bit of a moot point. At the end of this step, you should have every trophy except Survivor.

Step Two:

Do a fast run-through of the game on Survivor mode. Since you know what you are doing, and won’t be going out of your way to help victims. It is still recommended you help the ones along your path but only because of the retries. Don't bother going too far out of your way, if you know what you are doing, most times restarting from a checkpoint won't take more than 5 minutes. At the end of this step you will have the final trophy, Survivor.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/366/79C.jpgElevator repair service(B)

Repair the elevator for the people stuck in High Rise level

To get this you will need to repair two elevators by bringing jerry cans to them. This is missable, and you will have to go a bit out of your way to get it. I recommend doing it on your normal playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/366/74B.jpgFifth quick kill(B)

Perform 5 Machete quick kills while being bullied

To perform a quick kill whilst being bullied, you will be approached by a group of enemies, who are being aggressive but are not actually trying to hurt you yet. You will know that this is the case when they call out at you, and you raise your hands. Do not raise your gun, let them walk straight up to you. When the first one that's closest to you pushes you, you will get a prompt to do a quick kill (:square:). Do so and you will get a counter on your quick kills. Do this five times and you will get this trophy. The first kill is in a semi-walkthrough so don’t worry about the logistics too much, it will basically guide you through it. I got a quick kill at every available opportunity and I got this while bringing the medicine back to Mary.

This will come just after you have made it out of the sewer and obtained the Machete.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/366/B83.jpgSome tomatoes for her(B)

Provide tomatoes to the hungry lady in Downtown streets level

This counts as one of the victims, in the guide listed in Ultimate Rescuer it is victim 10. To help this victim, you will need to find tomatoes then bring them to her. This is missable, and you will have to go out of your way to get it. I recommend doing it on your normal playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/366/E52.jpgDo it once(S)

Finish the game once (on any difficulty)

Simply complete the game on any difficulty and this trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/366/5C5.jpgSurvivor(S)

Finish the game in Survivor mode

Complete the game on Survivor difficulty and this trophy will pop. This is actually fairly difficult if you don’t know what you are doing, so a normal playthrough is recommended first. If you did the Normal playthrough first, this should be a breeze.

Some tips:

  • If you can go out of your way to save a bit of stamina, do it.
  • Don't use any items without reason, you will need every last one.
  • Pick up as many retries as you can without going out of your way. If you need to go more than 3 minutes out of your way, it isn't worth having the retry.
  • Use the map whenever you feel even moderately lost, especially if you are in the sandstorm. Saving yourself one second can save your life.
  • DO NOT USE AMMO IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO.

*Note: This has been reported glitched on the Xbox 360, there have been no reports of it glitching on the ps3 yet but I will keep it updated - thanks to Yoda91192 for the tip.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/366/2AB.jpgUltimate rescuer(G)

Rescue/help all victims in the game

There are 20 victims to be helped throughout the game, you will have to help all of them for this trophy. This is highly missable. Although you can backtrack to many of the victims, a lot of them will be extremely out of your way and a few of them will require consumable items of which there are a limited supply in the game.

Pretty good guide, Just one minor thing, I saw you missed the trophy icon for 'Some tomatoes for her'. & In the Overview, You put the first quick kill as missable, Though you can skip it, The first time is basically a tutorial for it. Also, The trophy for beating the game on Survivor was reported to be glitched for Xbox360, Though I don't know if its also glitched for ps3, You should put a warning at least so people can back their saves up just in case to prevent a whole other playthrough.

Thanks, fixed the trophy icon. Actually, I put the second two machete kills as missable, the first one I put as unmissable since there really isn't another way to get through that part ;)

Thanks for the warning, I'll put in a short warning, which I'll update in a week or two depending on response.

I do estimated trophy difficulty based on the response in the poll: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/i-am-alive/153287-trophy-difficulty-rating.html

Personally, I would give it a 5 out of 10 though. The game is hard, but not intensely hard, especially if you go through the normal walkthrough first. Some of the victims are annoying, but using the guide all are findable.

(warp I would give a 7 or 8 purely because of the difficulty of the Rival trophy. Without that, the other trophies are a solid 6 because of the speed run, nothing else warrants over a 3)

Ah ok, I read it wrong then. Sorry about that :p & Try putting the warning in bold black, Some people just skim quickly through guides, While others like myself actually read through it thoroughly, So if they see it in bold black, It might catch their eye. Also, Thanks for the credit. :)

DKS,

A few things. I need you to make sure that you credit the video creator in your guides and have permission to use those videos.

Also your introduction needs to go. We don't allow copied introductions regardless of credit to the original writer. You have to write your own.

Thanks

Sorry about that, fixed it. Going to fix warp introduction right now as well.

Thank you so much for starting this guide dragon! I hope you can forgive me for "requesting" a guide so soon after launch (if you saw the thread I made in the main section for I Am Alive forum). I was just so excited and wasn't thinking "hey, the game just launched!" :p

How do you like the game Dragon? I'm lovin' it. I started on survivor and it's actually not that hard as long as your careful w/ the gang groups you come across and conserve everything. What IS hard is when your in the city and going to explore for survivors. Especially with the way the save system is...

Hey no problem, I was almost finished when you posted, just motivated me to finish it up :p

I like the concept of the game, and I think the reviews were WAY too harsh, but that being said, it certainly isn't my favourite game, mostly because of the combat system and because I am bad at managing my resources, a huge problem on survivor mode xP

It is a good game though, I would recommend it. Though I do wish it had released at $9.99 instead, I think it is a bit presumptuous to release higher than most games.

I am a little confused on this. I think I want an enjoyable'clean first playthrough. So, continually referring to the Ultimate Rescuer guide doesn't spoil this?

I want to balance number of playthroughs with clean first playthrough and am wondering if using the Guide on the 1st playthrough is the way to go or if it kind of ruins the fun?

So to ensure only 2 playthroughs, I would need to consult the guide at every step?

If you want a fun clean playthrough without spoiling anything or knowing anything that is going to happen, you should just play the game and not even look at the trophy list or the guide until you finish it.

It's not a long game, a couple of playthroughs won't hurt you. :p

Thanks for the guide. Just a few things:

The links in the description of "Elevator repair service" and "Some tomatoes for her" are broken. Also, Tomato-Lady isn't Victim #8 in the guide you linked to, but Victim #10. You also might want to mention that most people won't be able to help her until after the High Rise level, making her the 19th victim you can save.
