Road Map

Introduction

Welcome to the third game in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. It is possible to get the platinum in this game in one playthrough, however we recommend 2 playthroughs because one trophy ( Avid Newsie) is very difficult to get in your first playthrough, and it’s much easier to get it in New Game+.

Battle Tips

- During battle, hold to skip animations.
- Attacking an enemy from the back does more damage.
- Having a high combo counter increases the damage of your next attacks.
- Almost all enemies (including bosses) are vulnerable to debuffs, so use skills that have debuffs to give you an advantage
- If a boss is giving you trouble, use the enemies in the area to charge up your EXE Gauge so you can immediately use your EXE skills on the boss. Breaking their guard first is advisable before unleashing your skills.

Step 1: Complete the game and get the Normal Ending

In this step, complete the game while getting the Normal Ending. To get the Normal Ending, avoid picking up all five key items that appear in Chapters 5 and 6. This will lock you into the Normal Ending, and you will complete the game in Chapter 8. Once you complete the game, make sure to select the question mark in Planeptune to save a Clear Save Data to be able to start over in New Game+.

After completing this step, you'll earn:

Neptunia Victory Begins!
Item Developer
Combo Maker
Aww, Exercise...
Fit for fighting
Battle Master
Prologue Clear
Chapter 1 Clear
Chapter 2 Clear
Chapter 3 Clear
Chapter 4 Clear
Chapter 5 Clear
Chapter 6 Clear
Chapter 7 Clear
Normal Ending

Step 2: New Game+, Avid Newsie, and Good Ending

From the title screen, select Continue and load up the Clear Save Data. This will start the game in New Game+.

The following is what carries over in New Game+:
  • Characters' level
  • Characters' Lily Ranks
  • Quest Rank
  • Items in your inventory
  • Synthesized items in shop
  • Jumping Star key item
The following doesn't carry over in New Game+:
  • The five key items for the Good and True Endings
  • Completed quests
  • Discovered dungeons
  • Discovered lost places
In Chapter 2, make sure that you meet the requirements for a 40 point review to earn Avid Newsie. See that trophy for more details.

In Chapters 5 and 6, collect the five key items. In Chapter 9, view the optional event in Planeptune, continue with the game, and DO NOT view all six of the necessary events in the optional dungeons. When Extradimensional Space opens up, create a new save, and do not overwrite that save. At the beginning of Chapter 10, you will lose some party members, which means you’re on the Good Ending Route. Complete the game.

After completing this step, you'll earn:

It's Scoutin' Time!
Avid Newsie
Chapter 8 Clear
Chapter 9 Clear
Good Ending

Step 3: True Ending & Cleanup

Load up the Chapter 9 save, and now view all six of the necessary events in the optional dungeons. Continue the game, and in the beginning of Chapter 10, you will have all 10 characters in your party, which means you’re on the True Ending Route. Complete the game.

Now that you have earned all the endings, you will need to clean up the miscellaneous trophies: level up all your party members to level 99, complete all Rank Advancement Quests and max out Lily Ranks with all party members. After all this is done, enjoy your new strain of Neptunia!

After completing this step, you'll earn:

Trophy Guide

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory Victor!
"Gamindustri's got nothing left to offer you! Thanks so much for being awesome!" -Neptune

Collect all the trophies. Surely getting diagnosed with Neptunia for a third time can't be good for your health?

Neptunia Victory Begins!
"Ooh, looks like you started a new game! Think any game reviewers won't get this one!?" -Neptune

Start a new game, and this trophy will unlock in the opening cutscene.

Avid Newsie
"Extra, extra! You saw every Nepstation episode! Oh yeah, didn't this game get a perfect score on there!?" -Neptune

The trophy description is misleading. From Chapter 2 onwards, you will be given a review at the end of the Chapter. You will need a perfect score of 40 in one Chapter for this trophy to unlock. Your score is based on the following:

Quests - Do every quest in the chapter to get a 10 here.

Shares - Planeptune needs over 50% shares to get a 10 here. Repeat quests until the shares are high enough. Good quests to repeat are “The Eastern Field” and “Shampuru!”, since they give shares to Planeptune. Do not leave any quests unfinished, including quests that have already been completed.

Scouting - Send scouts as often as possible to earn a 10 here.

Enemies killed
- Kill every enemy you see along the way, and you will easily earn a 10 here.

I recommend that you do this in New Game+, because some of the required quests can be quite difficult. Chapter 2 is the easiest and quickest Chapter to get this trophy in.

This is the quest list required for Chapter 2.

Spoiler! (click here to reveal)

It's Scoutin' Time!
"It's kinda bleh that Noire taught me how to use Scouts, but I got this keen trophy for using them or whatever!" -Neptune

During Chapter 2, Noire will introduce you to the Scout system. You’ll earn this by sending a scout to a dungeon for the first time.

Forward to the Past
"Whoa, the Scouts found 10 Lost Places! I wonder if they found my stash of candied cookies..." -Neptune

Lost Places are decorative items on the map that don’t have any other purpose. To find a Lost Place, send a Scout to any dungeon and when it returns it will have a chance to discover a Lost Place on the same continent. You'll get a different Lost Place depending on whether or not you choose to trust or distrust the Scout's info. There are more than 10 Lost Places so if you send Scouts a lot, you will have no trouble getting this trophy. Below you’ll find a list of the Lost Places you can get when trusting the Scout's info. Each continent can have up to a max of 3 Lost Places.

Spoiler! (click here to reveal)

Combo Maker
"So you finally made a combo all your own, huh? Is it pizza-flavored?" -Neptune

To create a combo, go to the main menu by pressing in the field. Go to "Command", then "Combo Skills". Select a character and now change any combo. Press to exit, and the trophy unlocks.

Item Developer
"I know I developed an item so I could use it, but bawwwww! I put my heart into it..." -Neptune

After completing your first quest, you will have access to "Item Dev." in any town screen. Select "Item Dev." and create your first item, a Fragment of Life with 8 herbs and 6 dogoo jellies.

Also, see Mad Item Developer.

Mad Item Developer
"I've seriously made 100 items!? May as well quit my day job as a goddess!" -Neptune

To obtain this trophy, you’ll need to synthesize 100 different items. If you’ve been picking up items from dungeons, sending scouts regularly, and using Item Search religiously, you should have more than enough materials to create 100 items. Clothing accessories are the easiest things to create as they use a low amount of materials and there are well more than 100 of them. Most of them require pigments, which are found through Item Search. As the story progresses, you can purchase the recipes for them from the shop for 50,000 C.

100-million Credit Limit
"Whoa! I saved up 100,000,000 Credits! I dunno if anyone needs that much, but it's like free food for life!" -Neptune

To earn this trophy, you need to have earned 100,000,000 credits. You don’t need to have it all at once. You can keep track of your progress through the ‘Play Data’ section of the Nepedia. Once the ‘Credits Held’ category reaches 100,000,000, the trophy will unlock.

Once you reach Chapter 4, an area in Hello Continent called “Sauho Mountain Range” will appear. In this area, the monsters named Pinky drop an item called Invisible Cloth. You can also get the Cloths through Scouting the dungeon. Buy some Monochrome Jersies from the Item Shop at 5,000 credits each, and create a Monochrome Style in the Item Dev., by combining a Monochrome Jersey and an Invisible Cloth. Sell the Monochrome Styles for 1,250,000 credits each. You can do this until you amass around 60,000,000, then you can just keep buying the most expensive items and reselling them until the trophy pops.

Egg of Game Creation
"I totally burned my own game disc! And my thumb! And my index finger. And my nose." -Neptune

See Hatched Game Creator.

Hatched Game Creator
"They said I made a 'Godly Game' disc. Too bad this one isn't for sale, stinkers!" -Neptune

To first receive a disc, you'll need to advance your quest rank. You can do this by doing a quest that says "Advancement Test #". There'll be an event on Planeptune afterwards where a mysterious figure will give you some discs. You can also get more discs by getting medals from Tough or Risky foes in dungeons.

To utilize discs, you’ll need to burn chips onto the discs. Chips range from yellow, blue, or red, and come in 5 levels. All discs have limitations on what level chips you can burn onto it.

To obtain a Godly Game disc, you’ll need to burn a special combination of yellow, blue, and red chips to the disc. If you did it correctly, the words ‘Godly Game’ will flash across the screen and the trophy will pop after.

The easiest combination to use is RPG, Fantasy, and Orthodox. The RPG chip is received upon clearing the quest “Protagonist Requisites”. The Fantasy chip is found in Haneda Mountain Range as a harvest; have the flag up, and have scouts cause a Harvest Shift in this dungeon. The Orthodox chip is found as a treasure in Brandicrash. You will receive a disc that is able to make this combination by reaching Quest Rank A.

The above disc will have EXE Gauge Boost Lv. 5.

Aww, Exercise...
"I know this is my first fight in a while, but...level one!? Ya gotta be joshin' me!" -Neptune

See Battle Master. You get this in your first fight after the tutorial battle.

Fit for Fighting
"Congratulations to me! I mowed down over 100 baddies. Think I ran away like way more than that?" -Neptune

See Battle Master. You get this when you enter your 100th battle.

Battle Master
"And so, the invincible Neptune battled 500 times, risking life and limb. Haha, yeah, I can sound cool if I want!" -Neptune

As the trophy says, fight 500 battles. This will unlock during natural progression. The trophy pops when you enter your 500th battle.

Nice Hits, Lady!
"Secret skill: Nep-Nep's 100 HITS! Wait,, I don't have to get all 100 myself? Aw, plungers..." -Neptune

To obtain this trophy, you'll need to amass 100 hits with your characters before an enemy gets a turn. You should wait until Chapter 4 or beyond to attempt this, as you'll have access to Neptune's 'Who Did This!? Nova' (Inafune ship) skill.

Head to the colosseum and select a battle that has 6 enemies, or find a battle that has 6 enemies. Make sure the enemies are strong enough that they won't die with one skill use, and slow enough that they won't move out of formation before Neptune and Plutia get a turn. Use Neptune's 'Who Did This, Nova?!' and Plutia's 'Stress Release!' skill on this group, and you should be able to get well over 100 hits. If you are too strong, equip weaker weapons.

Massive Damage
"Wow! 100,000 damage! I guess unless you find someone's who's like, 'I got Infinity+1 HP!' you can one-hit KO anyone!" -Neptune

To earn this trophy, you need to do 100,000 damage in one combo. As long as an enemy doesn't take its turn, or you stop attacking, the damage piles up. I've accomplished this against a boss with a lot of HP by breaking down his guard, and once the guard is broken, I used Plutia's EXE Skill, “T. Blade kick” followed by Noire's EXE Skill, “Infinite Slash".

Level Cap Found!
"Well well well, who reached level 99 first? It was me, right? IT WAS ME RIGHT!?!?" -Neptune

See Top of Their Class.

Top of Their Class
"Everyone's level 99 now! We're totally the bestest ever! Secret bosses ain't no thang! P-Probably..." -Neptune

*Missable*

You need to be on the True Ending path to recruit all of the characters necessary to earn this trophy. You need 18853411 total EXP for one character to reach level 99. It's strongly advised to go for all the Lily Rank trophies first and clean up this trophy afterwards.

If you’ve been following the recommended method to obtain the Lily rank trophies, you should have most, if not all, characters at level 99 once you’ve finished. If any characters haven’t reached level 99 by the time you’ve finished with the Lily ranks, if you have any ‘Many Resets’ (obtain 4 as a hidden treasure from Leggo Island, first area) chips, burn them onto the discs with the Lily Rank chips and equip them on anybody who isn’t level 99. Send scouts to a high level dungeon such as Planeptune Alley until you get an EXP Up effect on it, then get into a battle with the enemies in the dungeon and use a Taboo Staff to respawn them after they've been defeated.

Quest Master
"So we're at Quest Rank S? I can't believe they'd promote a slacker like me! Yokes on them!" -Neptune

*Missable if you’re on the Good Ending*

In order to advance quest rank, you’ll first have to unlock Advancement Tests, and complete them. You unlock those by completing enough quests. Each rank quest has a hidden point value, and obtaining enough points unlocks an Advancement Test. The higher the quest rank, the more points it gives, so do quests of the highest available rank to unlock them faster. You can repeat the same quest as many times as you want and it’ll still contribute towards unlocking the Advancement Test. The trophy unlocks once you turn in the final advancement quest. The list of advancement tests are below.

Advancement Test 1: Defeat Phoenix (found in Bandicrash, Lastation)

Advancement Test 2: Obtain Magical Wolf Fang (defeat Fenrir, found in Castle Exterior, Lowee)

Advancement Test 3: Defeat Turtle (found in Zega Forest, Leanbox)

Advancement Test 4: Defeat Plaid Dolphin (found in Ario Plateau, Lowee)

Advancement Test 5: Defeat Vestiges of Momus (Tough Foe found in Graphic Pass, Eden)

A few quick quests to repeat to reach Quest Rank S are: "Stress relief" (defeat 8 Tetrisi), and "A gas trap" (defeat 8 Cass Traps). These are Rank A quests, and the enemies can be found in the discovered dungeon Graphic Pass in Eden. The enemies are easy to defeat at this stage of the game.

Hot Stuff: Neptune
"Everyone's Lily Rank is maxed out with me! Wow, it looks like I'm all kinds of popular!" -Neptune

*Missable if you aren’t on the True Ending*

To obtain all the Lily Rank trophies, you’ll need to have the Lily Rank of a single character to at least 8 (must be showing a red/pink face with hearts for eyes) with all characters. The picture of what the face should look like is shown below. There are a total of 45 pairings which you’ll need to raise the Lily Rank for. Lily Rank between two characters rises by fighting a certain number of battles with the characters paired.

To expedite this process, you’ll need to acquire 4 special discs and 4 Harem (Lvl 5 Lily Rank+) chips. You can get Harem x4 as a hidden treasure in the second area of EM ES Magma Cave (optional dungeon in Leanbox) or as an item cube in the optional dungeon Under Inverse (Hyperdimension area). Once you have that, you’ll need to acquire four of either Large Medals I, N, O, Q, R, T, U, X from tough/risky foes, which will give you discs that allow you to place the Harem chips in. See the Boss locations and drops document for info on where to find these medals. You can only exchange a medal once, so if you have multiple Large Medal N’s, you can only get one disc from it.

Once you’ve got the four discs, equip them all on your four active party members and fight battles, remembering to check their Lily Rank status every now and then and swap out pairs when a red face is reached. With the Harem chips, a Lily Rank should be leveling up every 10 battles. The best battle to repeat is the colosseum battle ‘It is Year 0...’, as it gives the most experience out of the easy colosseum battles and will help towards obtaining Top of Their Class.

Make sure to check all your characters’ Lily Ranks beforehand and put the ones with the least amount of red-faced Lily Ranks in your active party (most likely Noire) to lessen the amount of battles you’ll do in the long run.

Scouting Mini guide

During Chapter 2 you’ll gain the ability to dispatch scouts. Scouts basically travel to dungeons and can return with random effects. They are as follows:

- Dungeon Exp increases or decreases. *
- Money earned in dungeons increases or decreases. *
- Item drops in dungeons increases or decreases. *
- Brings back items or money.
- Recruits other scouts.
- Finds a Lost Place on the same continent.
- Finds a dungeon on the same continent.
- Changes types of materials that can be harvested from dungeons. *
- Changes enemy formations, and allows access to either Tough (only when the dungeon’s flag is standing) or Risky (only when the dungeon’s flag is broken) foes, which can drop rare items. *
- Nothing

* You can only have one of these effects active at a time.

Scouts gain experience if they come back with something, and can eventually level.

Scouts require a fee before they can be dispatched. The fees range from 100 to 100,000, and this fee is paid every time it goes off to a dungeon. You can also choose to auto-dispatch a scout, which means it will visit the same dungeon once it’s done scouting.

When a scout is dispatched, it will take a certain number of days, depending on the dungeon, before it returns. Once it does, it will enter a resting phase before it can be dispatched again.

To efficiently use scouts, do the following:

- Auto-dispatch all scouts. Make sure you have enough credits to continuously pay them, as they will get paid every time they are sent off.

- Find a dungeon with the highest Scouting Time. Press or when your cursor is over the dungeon to view the Scouting Time. Make sure the dungeon doesn’t have an event active.

- Enter the dungeon and immediately exit, then check your scouts through the menu. They should all return and go into their resting phase.

- Enter the dungeon and exit again. Check their status. They will now be out of their resting phase and enter their scouting phase. You need to check the menu to trigger this transition between phases

- Repeat the above two steps until you get the results you want. You can also save your game before checking your scouts when they return and if you don’t like the results, just reload your save.

Nepquiz questions and answers:

Here are all the questions and answers for the Nepstation quiz that appears in almost every episode. They're not needed for the platinum, but you do get 1,000,000 credits at the end for answering them all correctly, and also they give you useful items for each correct answer. Be warned as some questions might contain spoilers.

Reserved, in case. Guide's done for the most part. We just need to fix some formatting. Also, videos will be up shortly.

Thanks for the guide, guys!

This should come in handy come summer when I plan on doing a speedrun of the platinum during the summer when not only will I have the time to do so, but by then, the best DLC weapons should be released. Can't wait to stay up for well over 24 hours to get this plat as fast as I can.

Nice guide.

About getting rating 10 for quests in each chapter:
DO NOT REPICK UP QUESTS WITHOUT FINISHING. Do the quests that unlock that chapter and a few more and leave your log empty. That should give you a 10/10

I left some old quests open and didn't get the full rating after chapter 2.
