Introduction

Hitman: Blood Money regarded as the best game of the franchise and, originally released on the 360, it has finally come onto the PS3 - using the PC Port - thanks to the HD Collection. In terms of trophies this is slightly easier than the previous Hitman games, however, you are going to have to make a decision whether to commit to a Full Playthrough + Cleanup or 2 Full Playthroughs + Cleanup. This guide will encourage you to do one Full Playthrough on Professional difficulty then a Cleanup as it is the quickest way to (P). Do note that this will entail collecting all weapons and beating the bonus level (Requiem) on Professional difficulty. One or two weapons are tricky to obtain and Requiem is a very challenging level but doing an additional Full Playthrough to collect all weapons and to beat Requiem on an easier difficulty will add on an extra 5 hours to achieving the (P). My advice will be if you beat Contracts and Silent Assassin on Professional, collecting all weapons, then this will be no challenge whatsoever but if you struggled then 2 full playthroughs might be more appealing.

http://i.imgur.com/kb4rLzn.png

Step 1: Full Playthrough on Professional

Start a New Game and complete the game from start to finish under Professional Difficulty which will earn you: 1st Mission Complete, Redemption, Tier 2 Kruger Schmidt, Tier 3 Kruger Schmidt, Tier 4 Kruger Schmidt, Rookie Mode Complete, Normal Mode Complete, Expert Mode Complete and Professional Mode Complete. Make sure you obtain the Silent Assassin Rating for at least 8 of the game's 11 missions and, as long as you do not buy too many upgrades, this will earn you: High Roller, Accidents do happen, Silent Assassin, 5 Normal Silent Assassins, 5 Expert Silent Assassins and 5 Professional Silent Assassins.

Throughout your playthrough make sure you collect all weapons except for the Air Rifle, Elephant Rifle, Kazo TRG and SG552.

Step 2: Cleanup Phase 1

Remain on Professional Difficulty and replay 'Till Death do us Part' and collect the Elephant Rifle. Also, prior to the mission you want to upgrade fully your Shotgun and M4 for: Fully Customised SP12 Shotgun and Fully Customised M4 then replay 'A Murder of Crows' to collect the Kazo TRG, SG552 and make sure you upgrade fully your Silverballer and SMG for: Fully Customised Silverballers and Fully Customised SMG Tactile. Next replay 'A New Life' and you will have to do 3 things in this mission. 1: Fully upgrade your W2000 Sniper for Fully Customised W2000 Sniper. 2: Make sure you collect the final weapon of the game - Air Rifle - to earn All Firearms Collected. 3: Kill all of the guards using the Sniper only to earn Special Rating.

Step 3: Cleanup Phase 2

Next replay Missions 1 to 3 and lower the game's difficulty to Normal. Cause havoc in all three of the missions to gain 100 notoriety for Notorious. Finally, in Mission 2 'Curtains Down' you want to kill exactly 47 people for 47 Kills which will net you Perfect Assassin if you've been following the Roadmap exactly.

After earning all of the other trophies you will then earn the Platinum, congratulations.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/013.jpg Silent Assassin (B)

A Silent Assassin rating has been awarded

After every mission you will be awarded a rating which is a reflection of how you have performed in a particular mission. For this trophy you will have to earn the Silent Assassin Rating for one single mission and the trophy will pop during the end-of-level Statistic Screen. This excludes 'Death of a Showman' and 'Requiem' as it is impossible to obtain A Silent Assassin rating in them.

The requirements to achieve the Silent Assassin Rating differ depending on what difficulty you are playing the game on. Here's a list of conditions/limitations of what you can and can not do in a mission:

Kill only your target - Theoretically you can only kill your Mission Target, however, you can kill Guards and VIPs through accidental means and get away with it. By this I mean either pushing them over a railing that's at a great height or into a swimming pool etc. You can not kill them in a direct fashion which could be either:

  • Shooting them with your own gun or using a Melee Weapon.

  • Killing them with Poison, however you can sedate them.

  • A mine explosion which was set off by yourself.

All of these will count as a kill and will therefore stop you from getting the rating. Also bear in mind, if you kill a guard through a non-accidental method and then dump him into a garbage can to make it look like accident, this will not count. Note: Animals do not count towards your death tally so feel free to kill them. To clarify the end-of-mission statistics, the number of accidental deaths is shown as 'Accidents' this can be any number that you like. The number of non-accidental deaths is shown as 'Total Kills' this can only be the number of the amount of targets that you have to kill, if you exceed this then you will not be eligible for the rating. Finally, wounding anyone whether it be through a punch or gunfire will make you ineligible for the rating.

You must not have your cover blown - You will definitely use disguises at some point, if you give away that you are an imposter then this will prohibit your chances in getting the SA rating. Having your cover blown is usually earmarked by the guards opening fire on you, your suspicion bar will be full and illuminated red. Here is a list of ways that you can have your cover blown:

  • Erratic behaviour: Running back and forth or bashing yourself into the guards, they are usually quite lenient but if you persist they will open fire.

  • Failing a body search: If you are found with an inappropriate weapon or item whilst being frisked, your cover will then more than likely be blown

  • Carrying the wrong kind of weapon: If you are disguised as a guard who usually carries a shotgun and you are casually walking around with an SMG, then this will cause for your cover to be blown. However some guards do tend to have or it is part of their uniform to carry two kinds of weapons, but to be safe it is recommended that you always have the weapon that is found with the disguise.

  • Walking into restricted areas: Whether you are in your suit or a disguise, there are certain areas in every mission where you can not enter. The game is usually lenient, a guard will more often then not just come over and give you a stern telling off but if you do not obey and continue to walk around in a restricted area then they will open fire which will consequently results in having your cover blown.

  • Having so much Notoriety that you immediately get your cover blown without actually doing anything wrong. See Notorious for info on Notoriety.

No witnesses - A witnesses can be anyone from a dog to a guard. You start every level with zero witnesses, they only become one if you they spot you doing something suspicious. Which can be one of these 5 sequences:

  • They have seen you with an item/weapon drawn or picking up an item/weapon that does not correspond to your disguise.

  • They have seen you tampering with a fuse box or manipulating an unconscious or a dead body (dragging, throwing over a balcony, etc).

  • They have seen you attacking someone whilst unarmed (pushing, headbutting etc).

  • They have seen you picking a lock.

  • They have blown your cover.

It is always important to remember that no one just becomes a witness, it is solely down to you and your actions.

Being caught on camera - In some missions there are CCTV Cameras in operation and if you were to be spotted by one of them, then this will end your chances in getting the Silent Assassin Rating. You know when you have been spotted, because the screen will split into two whereby one will be showing the viewpoint of the camera. You can rectify this by removing the video tape before you complete the level as this will allow to still be eligible for the rating. Be warned though as the room in which the video tape is located is usually heavily guarded so it will not be easy!

No Evidence - You must not leave your suit behind otherwise the rating will be lost so if you were to change into a disguise, then make sure you change back into your suit upon completing the level. If you bring any weapons into the game then you must either exit with them or store them into a crate which is marked 'ICA' on your map but on Normal and Rookie difficulties, you can leave weapons behind and finish the level in something other than your suit and still eligible for the rating.

No Bodies Found - No bodies can be found in an unconscious or in a dead state. However, bodies can be found if they have killed through accidental means because the person who has found them will think little of it and thus will not be perceived as murder but merely an accident and therefore you will still be eligible for the rating. You will know when a body is found because your screen will split into two, one showing the body being found and the other will be of you still in gameplay. It is always best after a kill or knocking someone out, to always hide the body in a closet, trunk or an excluded place where no one goes. When playing on Normal and Rookie Difficulty, you are allowed to have bodies found and still be eligible for the rating.

Additional Info

Sometimes you will complete a mission and be confident that you have got the Silent Assassin Rating, only to find out that you have a witness or a kill. It can leave you scratching your head to why and how this has come about. After every mission you will receive a newspaper article which reports what went on during the mission, read these carefully as it may give away where you might have slipped up.

The timing in which you complete the Missions, Difficulty, the amount of in-level Saves you make or the number of disguises you use will not have any affect on your end-of-level rating. Getting the Silent Assassin Rating takes real skill and it is an art. Here some general pointers which might want to consider when going for this rating:

Get a Disguise and Maintain your cover - It is generally the case that you can not complete a mission in a stealthy fashion in just your suit, most of the time you will reacquire a disguise in order to pass through places smoothly. To acquire a disguise you may have to knock out/accidentally kill a guard or sometimes there is a change of clothing just lying around to be changed into. To change into a disguise simply hover over it and press :square:. Once you have your disguise it is vital that you maintain your cover. If your cover gets blown, then realistically your chances of getting a Silent Assassin Rating are gone along with it because you will then have witnesses.

Syringes - In every mission you have 2 doses of anesthetic in your syringe at your disposal. The affect of this is, if used correctly you can knock somebody out for the whole of the level. This is great for getting disguises or bypassing a vigilant guard who is obstructing your pathway. The main advantage is that it does not have a fatal outcome and therefore it will have no affect on your rating. Be careful though because if you don't hide the body well, then someone can walk by and wake him up. If that does happen, then you will lose any opportunity of getting the rating. To use the syringe, simply go up to someone from behind and press :r2: to administer a dose. You can either run or sneak behind them, but be wary when you run as they can turn round if you miss them or for some reason you stop.

Maps - This is only applicable if you are playing the game on Normal or Expert Difficulty but by pressing :r1: it will show you a map and it is a real time monitor of the movements of every single person in the level. Furthermore it shows points of interest which can be disguises, Poison etc. This feature is invaluable and it allows you to plan your routes through every level perfectly, because sometimes when trying to kill your target the last thing you want is a guard walking in on you. Lastly it also informs you of where the exits are, which is the last thing you should do after finishing that level's objectives.

Note: When playing on Professional Difficulty you will still get the map feature however it only shows the whereabouts of your target and extraction points, nothing else.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/012.jpg 5 Professional Silent Assassins (G)

5 Silent Assassin ratings awarded on the Professional difficulty.

For this trophy you will need to obtain 5 Silent Assassin Ratings on the hardest difficulty of the game i.e Professional Mode. The trophy will pop upon completing your 5th mission with the Silent Assassin Rating. Also note that this trophy will also unlock 5 Normal Silent Assassins and 5 Expert Silent Assassins because the difficulty trophies stack. See Silent Assassin for an explanation and tips on how to achieve the rating.

You do not have to get the rating in consecutive missions but do bear in mind that you will have to get the rating on 5 separate levels, unlike in Silent Assassin and Contracts you can not simply redo the same mission 5 times. Five of the most easiest missions to get the rating in are:

  • Mission 2: Curtains Down

  • Mission 3: Flatline

  • Mission 4: A New Life

  • Mission 6: You Better Watch Out

  • Mission 8: Till Death do us Part

See the Hitman Blood Money - Professional Guide for a a video/written guide on how to get the Silent Assassin Rating for those missions.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/011.jpg 5 Expert Silent Assassins (G)

5 Silent Assassin ratings awarded on the Expert difficulty

This is fully explained in 5 Professional Silent Assassins.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/010.jpg 5 Normal Silent Assassins (G)

5 Silent Assassin ratings awarded on the Normal difficulty

This is fully explained in 5 Professional Silent Assassins.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/806.jpg Professional Mode Complete (G)

Completed Professional difficulty

This trophy will pop soon as you complete all levels up and till 'Amendment XXV' under the game's hardest difficulty (Professional). In doing so you will also unlock Rookie Mode Complete, Normal Mode Complete and Expert Mode Complete. See the Hitman Blood Money - Professional Guide for how to complete the game under this difficulty. Throughout the 4 difficulties there are 5 variations between them:

Saves: When playing on Rookie difficulty you will get an infinite amount of saves, on Normal you will get 7, on Expert you will get 2 and on Professional you get none. Note: If you choose to use an in-level save, then you can not simply quit out of the game completely and then comeback, reload to place where you originally saved in the level. The in-game save system only works if you die, then you can reload and be returned to the place where you last saved.

Health: In terms of how much health you get under each difficulty, it is equal. When playing the game under Professional Difficulty, if you get shot at then you will incur a greater loss of health than you would do if you were playing on Rookie Difficulty. It is hard to quantify the difference between the four difficulties because of the variety of weapons. Some are more effective than others but on Rookie you can sustain approx 15 bullets hits before you die. On Professional it is around 5 hits before you are in serious trouble but bear in mind some guns are stronger than others. Finally, health does not regenerate.

Maps: On Expert difficulty you have a limited version of the in-game map, you will be able to see where everyone is but there will be no colour differentiation as they will be represented in a greyish colour. On Professional it will be even more limited as you will only see the targets, exit points and ICA Boxes. On Rookie and Normal you can pretty much see everything.

Notoriety: Notoriety is switched off when you play on Rookie difficulty but it is active on the 3 other difficulties, the harder the difficulty the more punishing your notoriety will rise if you have your cover blown etc.

Sound of Gunfire: If you fire a gun on the easier difficulties, the sound of your gunfire will fall on the death ears. On Professional, guards and civilians can hear your gunfire from several rooms away. Furthermore the Upgrade 1 Silencer for your weapons will not completely drown out the sound if you are playing under Professional.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/802.jpg 1st Mission Complete (B)

Death of a Show man completed on any difficulty

This trophy will pop during the end-of-level statistics screen after completing the game's Prologue Level: 'Death of a Showman'. The timing or difficulty that you complete the level under is irrelevant. See the Hitman Blood Money - Professional Guide if you are unsure on how to complete it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/808.jpg Accidents do happen... (B)(H)

A successful accident kill has been performed

For this trophy you will have to perform a kill whereby it looks like an accident on either the Mission's Target, Guard or VIP. This can be anything from pushing someone over the railings, spiking the victim's drink or food, staging an explosion which results in having piano or a load of barrels falling on their head. When the accident happens, you will then have to finish the level in order for the trophy to pop.

You can not earn this trophy in the Prologue Mission: 'Death of a Showman'. This trophy should come naturally, it would be an achievement in itself if you were to complete the game without an accidental kill but if you are struggling then see the Hitman Blood Money - Professional Guide and read what I do in Mission 2: Curtains Down if you still not have the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/807.jpg Redemption (G)(H)

You can't keep a good man down

Soon after completing the game's last mission 'Amendment XXV' you will unlock a short Bonus Mission called 'Requiem'. Simply complete the mission and the trophy will pop. As touched on in the 'Introduction' on the Roadmap of this guide, this trophy is pretty tricky when playing under Professional Difficulty. Please see the Hitman Blood Money - Professional Guide for a full guide on how to complete this level.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/016.jpg Fully Customized Silverballers (B)

All custom Silverballer components purchased

As soon as you start a new mission, on the Briefing Screen press :select: to choose what weapons you wish to take into the mission. Then go to Silverballer and press :square: to upgrade it. There are around 10-12 upgrades to buy and in the case of the Silverballer you will need $1,525,000 to upgrade the gun fully. Press :cross: to buy the upgrades then after you have bought them all, press :square: to accept - if you do not do this then none of the upgrades will be bought. After 'Accepting', press :cross: to take that weapon into the level. Complete the level and the trophy will pop during the end-of-mission Statistics Screen.

Note: You can only upgrade a weapon fully until you have completed Mission 8: Till Death do us Part as that's when Tier 4 of the shop opens.

Money workaround

The Roadmap does not recommend earning all of the upgrade related trophies via this method, because it will mean that you will have to complete a level on 4 separate occasions, which will add more time to achieving the (P). However, this method should only be used if for some reason you are low on cash.

Simply upgrade any weapon to the max, complete the mission and let the trophy. Soon as the trophy pops, do not save your game, exit out of the game and reload your save. You will then have the funds to upgrade another weapon fully. Repeat this process for all 4 weapons in order achieve all of the upgrade related trophies, but only if you can not afford to upgrade all of the weapons in one go.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/015.jpg All Firearms (G)

All firearms collected and displayed in Hideout

For this trophy you will have to collect all firearms and have them on display in your Hideout. You do not need to collect the Melee Weapons nor do you need to collect the: WWI Pistol and Custom 1911. If you have played the previous Hitman games then this trophy will sound a bit daunting, but it isn't as Blood Money is probably the easiest one in which to collect all weapons. After collecting all 19 weapons the trophy will pop soon as you complete the mission whereby you have collected the 19th weapon. Here are some key pointers which will shed some light on collecting weapons in Hitman Blood Money.

Hideout and difficulty - To check what weapons you have already collected then you can do so via the Hideout option via Mission Select. Every time you load your game it will list all of the missions and at the top is the Hideout. The Hideout is just an underground basement and on your left is all of the weapons which you have collected are hanged up on the wall. You can replay any level you wish, during or post completing the game to collect any weapons you may have missed. Every difficulty has its own record of what weapons you have collected under that particular mode, thus make sure you don't change the difficulty when using Mission Select else you'll be starting from scratch.

ICA Boxes or Extraction - Collecting weapons in Hitman is not simply picking it up then it's in your Hideout, you have to either carry the weapon to the end of the level or store it safely in a ICA Box. With nursing weapons to the end of the level, make sure you save your game afterwards and it will appear in the hideout. The ICA boxes are marked on your map 'ICA' going to these boxes you can store as many weapons as you like. Please also note, that you have to complete the level and then save your progress in order for your weapon to be stored at the hideout. There are numerous boxes in all levels of Hitman, but the ones marked 'ICA' are the ones which will only work in storing your weapon. Having said this, there are one or two rogue boxes whereby you can store your weapon in and it will appear in the Hideout but as rule I would tend to target the boxes marked 'ICA'. Furthermore you can actually take weapons out of the Prologue Mission: Death of a Showman. You can not extract with them, but you can store them in the ICA Box just outside the target's office and providing you go on to complete the mission then they will appear in your Hideout. Also, you can not collect any of the weapons in the bonus mission "Requiem".

Concealable and non-concealable weapons -11 of the weapons which you will have to collect will be concealable whereby you simply put it into your pocket and pretty much forget about it. It is the 8 non-concealable weapons which may cause you some difficulties. Because you can not conceal them, so therefore you will have them on show for everyone to clearly see. If you are wearing the wrong disguise then this will effectively make you vulnerable to you blowing your cover if spotted by a guard or a civilian. However, there are only 3 weapons whereby you may have to shoot your way to extraction so it is not he biggest worry in the world but just be conscious that the the wrong disguise and with a visible weapon could be a recipe for all hell to break loose.

Losing weapons - If you bring a weapon into a level then drop it for another one, you will lose that weapon which you brought into the level and will consequently have reacquire that weapon.

Weapons Guide (Professional Mode)

You can pretty much factor in collecting all of the weapons bar one or two within your first playthrough. Here is a written/visual guide for all weapons, they have all been collected when playing under Professional Difficulty. Note: The description will only guide you to where it is located, finishing the level with the weapon may be very brief in this guide. You might want to look at the Hitman Blood Money - Professional Guide for how to complete the level in its entirety whilst collecting the weapon. 7/19 weapons are found on the Mission's target and can not be missed. 15/19 of weapons can be collected whilst still getting the Silent Assassin Rating in that particular mission. There is only 4 weapons, which will entail you having to replay a mission again and taking the aggressive path in order for them to be collected. Weapons highlighted in Red denotes that they are concealable and weapons highlighted in Blue denotes that they are non-concealable.

Prologue: Death of a Showman

(0.59) SLP.40 Pistol: Near the start of the mission you will have to kill a gangster who is interrogating a civilian who is riding on a moving horse. The gangster has the pistol so be sure to pick it up, the weapon is also concealable.

(1:55) TMP: After dropping down the lift shaft, you will have to disable a fusebox in order to progress through the room discretely. Your next move will be to enter the toilets, you will be asked to take a gangster hostage and to use him as a human shield. To the left of him is the TMP, this weapon is also concealable.

(2:23) Dragunov Sniper Rifle: After collecting the TMP and holding the gangster hostage. You will have to clear the room of gangsters and then climb a ladder. There is a briefcase lying there, the game will ask you to unpack it and to snipe the 3 gangster outside. The rifle in the suitcase is the Dragunov Sniper Rifle.

(2:55) Desert Eagle: Right at the end of the level you will have to blow up a fixture which will fall onto a group of gangsters. Once they are all dead, check their bodies, one of them will have the Desert Eagle.

(3:32) ICA Box: This level does not allow you to extract with its weapons as unfortunately it will not count. In order to store the weapons which you have found, you must stash them in the ICA Box which located outside the mission target's office. After killing him, the game will ask you to climb out of the window, as soon as you climb through there is a box which contains explosives and a detonator. Store all of your weapons here in order for it to count.

Mission 1: A Vintage Year

(3:57) Shotgun and SAF SMG: Both weapons can be found inside the house. Right at the start, run South through the double doors into the compound and head Southbound till you reach some more doors. There will be some crates which you can climb onto and then hurdle over the wall – do not worry about the civilian who is there, he will not freak out if he sees you on the crates. Once over the wall, run East towards a single door which will lead you into the house. You should catch up with a paroling guard, hold down :l2: to start sneaking and head for the single door to your left. Open the door and manipulate the camera to see whether there is a guard to your left, if not, head into the hallway. Turn left and head through the single door at the end. Inside is a guard sleeping, remain in sneak mode and then change into the Indoor Mansion Disguise which is just near the bed then sneak over to the box and pick up the SAF SMG and Shotgun. With the disguise that you have just acquired, you can walk round at liberty with the non-concealable Shotgun.

(4:55) Snub Nose Pistol: This is found on the mission's target who is located on the 2nd floor of the house. This concealable weapon can not be missed.

Mission 4: A New Life

(5:39) Bull.480: This concealable weapon can be found on the mission's target and is therefore unmissable.

(5:39) MP7: This concealable weapon can be found on the ground floor of the house. Soon as you enter the front doors, head straight on through another set, take a left and head into the kitchen. Near the stairs is a single door, go through it, turn left and take the first door on your right. Inside this room, is a box which contains the weapon. I recommend acquiring the FBI agent's disguise for this one, as you can freely walk round the house.

(7:09) Air Rifle: From the mission's starting point, run along the road and pass the house. You will see a dump truck just to your right, if you look just to your left you will see across the road a woman gardening. Go over, run passed her, heading into her back garden and you find a tree house. Climb up it and up there will be the rifle. Now I would recommend getting this weapon after completing all of your objectives and you do not the Silent Assassin Rating. This is because the rifle does not compliment any of the level's disguises, therefore soon as you exit the tree house your cover will be blown, so soon as you have got it, head for the exit and do not look back. I recommend collecting this weapon when going for the 'Special Rating'

Mission 5: Murder of Crows

(8:27) MP9: This is found in a box in the house where you kill one of your targets. In order to enter the house discreetly you have to have the suitcase which contains diamonds. You will be allowed in to see your target, before you go up the stairs, to your left is a box which contains the concealable weapon. Considering you have to enter this house in order to kill your target, this weapon is semi-unmissable.

(8:45) SLP.40.S: This is found on the female target. Considering you have to kill her in order complete your objective this concealable weapon is impossible to miss.

(8:58) Kazo TRG: This is found near the target who is about the snipe the president. He can be in any of 3 places, but he will always have the non-concealable weapon with him. You might get a bit of luck with this one and if he is in the Blues Bar then all you have to do is exit the premise turn right and extract but if he is in the other bars, you may incur one or two difficulties. Theoretically soon as you are on the streets in amongst the crowd, you can have any weapon on show and no one will notice but it is getting from the bar to the middle of the street which is the problem. The best advice I can offer is to take the back entrance out of the bar, this is the most discrete way, compared to running out of the front door. Finally make sure you bring some painkillers into the level, just in case you incur a significant amount of health loss.

(11:54) SG552: This weapon is found near the table where you kill one of your targets who is located inside the house. You are going to upgrade your Silverballers to the max and bring them into the level. Make sure you have the diamond briefcase and the crow disguise in order to enter the house stealthily. Go up the spiral staircase were a guard will continuously walk from the room to the landing. When he stands still near the stairs, sneak behind him and kill him with the Fibre Wire, then go and kill your target who remains in the room. Pick up SG552 near the table then make your down the stairs, pass the door that your entered and head left through another door. On your right is a single door, open it and there will guard, immediately kill him with your hyped up Ballers. One or two guards will run into the house so kill them then go through the single door and head across the yard, on the left is a box. Store the weapon there and go and complete the mission like normal.

Mission 7: Death on the Mississippi

(15:05) FN-2000: This can be found on the ship's 2nd floor. There is a locker room whereby you can acquire the Purser's Disguise, the room next to this has a suitcase and it will contain the FN-2000. I recommend picking this weapon up after completing all of the objectives, if you are unsure of whereabouts then refer to the Hitman Blood Money - Professional Guide.

Mission 8: Till Death do us Part

(17:30) Six Shooter: This can be found on a guest who passes out right at the start of the mission. From the start make your way out of the shooting ranch and onto the the front garden of the house. To your left will be a small isolated ranch which is pitch black. Go inside, wait for a guest to walk in, he will pass out and on him will be the concealable weapon.

(18:10) Elephant Rifle: Acquire the Priest Disguise and kill one of your targets by pushing him into his grave, see the Hitman Blood Money - Professional Guide if you are unsure about how to do this. From the grave, head North into a small ranch, inside there is a door to your left so stand either to the left or right of the door and keep opening it. Watch the guard as he sits down, soon as he moves, sneak inside the room and kill him with either your Fibre Wire or Syringe. Take his disguise and return to the main lobby of the House. Head up the stairs, turn left and head West through the single door at the end. Now take the first door on your left, turn right and pick lock the door South East of your position. Enter and on the wall will be the non-concealable rifle. Deal with your final target and extract. Obtain this weapon only if you do not need the Silent Assassin Rating, because it virtually impossible to achieve both the rating and the weapon.

Mission 10: A Dance with the Devil

(21:28) MP5: This can be found on one of the mission's target. When you enter the basement your target, who stands behind a bar, will invite you to a shoot-off. Once he's dead, pick up the concealable weapon. Considering you have to do this in order to complete the mission, this weapon is therefore unmissable.

Mission 11: Amendment XXV

(22:04) M14: This weapon can be found on all US Marines. You will need their disguise in order to discretely negotiate certain parts of the level. To get the gun and to still get the rating do the following:

1. At the start of the mission head North West and make your way into the White House. Place your suitcase onto the conveyor and turn left to head into the toilets. Drop your Mine just to the right of the toilet, open the door then a guard should come in to investigate. If he does not then run out, bump into him and he will turn to face you. Head back to the toilet, stand just left of the door, wait for him to come in to investigate. When he does, close the door and sedate him with the syringe now take his US Marine Disguise and drag his body and gun to the left before exiting. Proceed to complete the mission's objectives.

2. After completing all objectives, return to the toilet in the US Marines' Disguise. Pick up the gun from the toilet, exit the White House and store it in the ICA box which is just North when you exit the White House. Then go back and change into your suit and extract. For further information refer to the Hitman Blood Money - Professional Guide.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/025.jpg High Roller (G)(H)

$5,000,000 have been accumulated

This trophy will pop soon after the mission whereby your fortune surpasses $5,000,000. To put this into a better context, 5 million dollars roughly equates to 7 Missions whereby you earn the Silent Assassin Rating. Truthfully though if you are playing under Professional Mode and providing that you do not spend all of your money on upgrades, then within the game's 12 missions this trophy should come naturally. Here some key pointers for when it comes to earning money in Hitman Blood Money which you should be aware of:

Difficulty and rating - You earn money for completing the Mission's Objectives and you will receive a bonus which is dependent on what rating you get. You can potentially earn up to $800,000 if you get the Silent Assassin Rating and you play the level under Professional Difficulty. Difficulty affects how much you can earn, if you are playing under the lower difficulties then your payout will be considerably lower. The same goes if you complete the level in an aggressive manner and earn a lower rating. The Silent Assassin Rating will give you a $150,000 bonus!

Disguise and weapons - If you leave your Suit or any Weapons behind in a Level then you will incur a $5,000 fine. This may seem a small amount, but if you did this for every mission then you could unnecessarily lose $170,000 for your carelessness.

Replaying missions - You can go back over missions and re-earn money, providing that you have not earned the maximum from that level. For example: In Mission 9: House of Cards; the max you can take out of that mission is $825,000 once you have earned that, you can not redo it and earn another $825,000. You are going to have to redo levels whereby you have not earned the maximum amount that is possible.

Difficulty - Every difficulty that you play on has it's own separate bank so to speak. For example: If your first playthrough you play the game under Normal Difficulty and you earn $2.3m, then decided to switch difficulties to Professional knowing that you earn more under this mode, the bank balance will start back at zero. Your $2.3m is not gone, it will only come back if you start playing under Normal Mode again. This is why I advise you do this trophy under on Professional Playthrough, as your potential earnings are greater.

Do not spend any money - This trophy can not be earned through simply accumulative means. You actually do have to have $5,000,000 in your account for this pop so refrain from buying lots of upgrades. You can just about afford to upgrade the Sniper Rifle fully, slightly upgrade the Silverballers, buy some Painkillers and the Briefcase.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/021.jpg Special Rating (B)(H)

A Special Rating has been awarded

After each mission you will be awarded a rating which a testament to how you performed in that particular level. For this trophy to pop you will need to earn a 'Special Rating'. There are various kinds of Special Ratings which you can earn. However the most simplest is 'Russian Hare'. Here is a guide on how to earn it.

Russian Hare guide

First of all drop the game's difficulty down to Rookie and select 'A New Life'. You get the option to upgrade and to bring weapons into the level when you are on the briefing screen. Be sure to select the W2000 Sniper Rifle and make sure it is fully upgraded. Also buy some painkillers to be safe.

From the start run down the road pass the house and you will see a woman gardening. Run into her back garden and climb up the tree house. Now open your briefcase to arm yourself with the sniper. Look out the tree house's window and start firing on the guards. More guards will keep on coming, just simply continue killing them till there is no more in your sight, you should perform 18 kills. Exit the treehouse and head back to the house and at the front there should be a guard stood by the door, kill him then check the alleyway on the Westside of the house as there may be another guard there (kill him if there is). Across the road will be a van, inside there are two more guards, kill them both and head inside the house. Now complete your objectives, kill the target, beat up the woman by pressing :r2: and take the Microfilm off her. Sweep both floors to ensure there no more agents and then head for extraction. Here are some key pointers to ensure that you get the rating:

  • Make sure you kill all armed personnel with the W2000 Sniper Rifle, there are 21 armed guards to kill plus your target.

  • Do not kill any innocent/unarmed people.

  • Never kill the Agents who are in the van first, you must open fire from the tree house and kill everyone in sight. In doing so, the agents in the van will call for backup, they will not be able to do this if they are killed first.

  • Make sure you exit the level with your Suit and the Sniper Rifle.

  • Timing and difficulty that you complete the level on will not have any affect in you earning the 'Special Rating'.

Here the other 'Special Ratings' which you can earn:

Needle Pumper - Kill all armed guards with the Nailer

Insurance Agent - Kill everyone through accidental means

Piano man - Kill all armed guards using only your fibre wire

Insane Florist - Kill handful of armed guards with a Hedge Cutter

Sushi Chef - Kill all guards with a knife

King of the Jungle - Kill a handful of people with the Bowie Knife

Swashbuckler - Kill a handful of armed guards with the Cane

Dr Death - Kill a handful of armed guards with your Needles

Skull Splitter - Kill a handful of guards with the Hammer

Raging Blue collar - Kill a handful of guards with the Hammer, but in do not get spotted

Frenzied Firefighter - Kill a handful of guards with the Fire Extinguisher

Evil Eye Gouger - Kill a handful of guards with the Screwdriver

Slugger - Kill everyone with the Baseball Bat

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/809.jpg 47 Kills (B)(H)

A mission has been completed with precisely 47 kills

For this trophy you have complete a mission under any difficulty with exactly 47 kills. Bear in mind that assassinating your targets will also count as one of your 47 kills. On the screen look at the stat which reads 'Total Kills' that number has to be 47 in order for the trophy to pop. Note: Killing animals or guards accidentally killing other guards or VIPs, will not contribute to your kill count. If you have successfully killed 47 people then the trophy will pop during the end-of-mission Statistic Screen. As mentioned in the Roadmap it is ideal to target this trophy when going 100/100 Notoriety. It should be one of your last trophies that you earn in the game.

Below is a Written/Visual Guide for this trophy, I recommend that you read it because it contains tips which can be applied to all missions which you can get the 47 kills in.

47 Kills Guide: Mission 2 Curtains Down

Before you start the mission make sure you have bought some painkillers and bring in the following weapons: Silverballer, SMG and M4.

From your starting point run inside the theatre, take a left and head through the single door next to the reception. Run down the stairs and head for toilets – which is directly opposite the steps. Somebody is bound to see you, open fire on him then a whole wave of security will come rushing down, simply kill them off. Use the toilets as cover and hide behind the cubicles to reload. Check your map to evaluate their whereabouts, to see if any more are rushing down the steps. Hopefully you should deal with around 70% of the armed personnel but sometimes not many will investigate, however that is extremely rare to happen. Save your game and pick up the M4 from the ICA box. Your next move is to roam around the entire theatre, killing all armed personnel and the targets. These are the Red, Orange and Blue Circles on your map - hopefully you won't have that much killing to do now. When that is done kill maybe 5-10 civilians but do not go crazy, then Save your game and complete the level. On the statistics screen, it will tell you how many people who you have killed. Look at that number and providing you did not go too crazy when killing civilians, that number should be bellow 47. The reason why I recommend this method, is because it saves you from counting either mentally or methodically noting down each body. Now you know how many you need kill in order to reach 47, press :square: to restart the level and it will take you back to the beginning. Press :start: and load your save, which will now take back to the point where you saved it before exiting level. Now just simply kill off the required amount to reach the magic number of 47 and extract again, then the trophy will pop. Finally, be careful of rogue civilians as sometimes they try to be the hero by picking up a gun off a dead officer and then attempt to kill you. Be wary of this and act efficiently, the chances are slim but it can happen.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1772/014.jpg Notorious (G)(H)

47 is the world's most wanted

Missable

At the start of every New Game you will have 0/100 Notoriety. You will need raise this so it is 100/100 and then the trophy will pop during the end-of-level Statistics screen. You will be reminded how much notoriety you have after every mission during the stats screen. Under each Difficulty Mode it has it's own notoriety, apart from Rookie where it is not activate. For example: If you play on Professional and by Mission 6 you have 30/100 Notoriety if you were to play under Normal Mode, then it would reset back to 0/100. After you have already set your notoriety for a level, then there is no way you can make it worse but you can reduce it. For example: If on Mission 6 you gain notoriety of 20, you can replay this is level and lower it to 10 or even zero but you can not replay it and make it worse to say 60. Once you have set it, then the game will only record the lowest set notoriety.

What is Notoriety and how to raise it?

All the havoc and attention you cause within a mission will consequently raise a bar known as 'Notoriety'. The downfall of this is that if you have too much Notoriety then you will start being noticed more and therefore have your cover blown in subsequent missions. Even if you only have 30/100 Notoriety, your next mission that you enter, you may have civilians shouting: "You're that bald killer, RUN!". This will blow your cover as they will alert the nearby guards. Raising your notoriety goes completely against what the game is about. To raise it you basically have to do the reverse of that you would do if you were going for the Silent Assassin Rating. Here are some tips on how to approach levels in order to raise your Notoriety:

  • The higher the difficulty you play the level on more Notoriety you will gain. However, playing under Professional will be a bit too much of a challenge. I would personally stick with Expert or Normal

  • Make sure you get caught on camera.

  • Kill every armed guard (Blue and Light Brown Circles on your Map) and leave the unarmed personnel alive. This will ensure that there are lots of witnesses who will then go on to report the incident, making you notorious.

  • Bring weapons into the level, make sure you leave your suit and your guns behind.

  • Get caught on camera and do not retrieve the videotapes.

  • Fire as many bullets possible, the more you fire the better.

100/100 Notoriety Guide

Lower your difficulty to Normal and start from Mission 1: A Vintage Year. Kill all armed personnel, you can kill around 70% of guards in the House. Go to where you pick up the SMG and Shotgun (See the Professional Guide if you do not know where they are) pick up both weapons and go over to the table and pick up all of the ammo from the table. Now kill the Guard who is asleep, from this point on, lots of guards will now come into that room and investigate. Just pick them off as they enter the room. Soon as they stop, kill your target, who is upstairs, then exit the house via it's front doors near the stairs. Look to your right and there is like a garage sort of thing. Go over and kill anyone who is in there. This will then draw out more guards, simply pick them off as they run across the courtyard. Once they have all been dealt with, it is just about checking the map and seeing where the remainder of armed guards are, there should not be that many. Once they're all dead, look out for the cameraman who hangs around the courtyard near the wine cellar then go right in front of his camera to get 'Caught on Camera'. Before extracting, injure a handful or innocents then liberally fire all of your ammo before completing the level but ensure you leave your suit and weapons behind.

The next Mission is Curtains Down, which is a good opportunity to earn 47 Kills. See the walkthrough for that trophy to see how to complete that level or watch the video below.

After this you should have around 70/100 Notoriety, Mission 3: Flatline will be your final mission. Start the mission of by shooting the security officers to your left. This will then draw out more guards, deal with them and then make your way to the facility. Do not enter, just equip your weapon and civilians who are outside will run in to alert guards about your presence. This will now draw out most of the armed personnel, deal with them, find a tree or some form of cover and just kill anyone in sight. When it calms down, pick up your M4 from the ICA box, enter the facility and pick off the remainder of guards, complete your objectives and finish the level.

One final tip which you will want to consider, is to save your game regularly. On Normal Difficulty you get 7 saves per a mission, use them! If somehow you manage to beat the game on all applicable difficulties without getting max Notoriety, then you will have to delete your saves and start a new game.

  • 4 weeks later...

Great trophy and SA guide! I know it's going to help me a lot in my Professional run.

I just finished the game on normal without looking at a guide and completely failed the final epilogue mission apparently (didn't get trophy). I've since researched to see what I did wrong, but I have to ask, how the heck was I supposed to know what to do to revive 47? As soon as I had camera control, I pressed every button on the controller and moved LS and RS, and nothing happened other than the dub-dub heartbeat on the health bar. At that point I assumed nothing would happen regardless until the credits stopped rolling. Should I feel like an idiot or did I miss a control prompt? Again I was playing on normal. :o Well at least I got to see the "alternate" ending, which you can only see in your first playthrough apparently. lol

haha no, I can confirm that you are not an idiot, many people have just sat their watching the credits roll. Seeing credits at the end of any media product, usually illustrates the end :)

I can not remember when I first played the game whether or not I realised what you had to do. I have slept since then :p

Thanks for making me feel better. Glad I'm not the only one, then. :)

I have a couple of questions before starting my Pro/Silent Assassin run:

Do I have to start a new game, or can I just use chapter select from my first complete playthrough on normal and change the difficulty each time? If so, will every upgrade I've purchased on normal carry over, making it a new game+ in a sense?

And just to be clear on something stated in the Silent Assassin trophy description:

Also bear in mind, if you kill a guard through a non-accidental method and then dump him into a garbage can to make it look like accident, this will not count.

Does that mean if I kill any guard through direct (non-accidental) means, like with fiber wire, and hide his body in a dumpster or chest, it won't negate getting Silent Assassin?

Thanks!

Start a 'New Game' to be safe. I think anyway, if you go onto level select and change it to Pro, you have to start again from scratch. So no Upgrades or Weapons etc...

And yes, what you say is right, you can not kill a guy and then hide his body, this will lose any chance of you getting the rating :)

Let me know how you get on!

Haha, what is it with you posting at 6 30 ish :p

To be truthful, playing under Pro, weapons are a bad thing, because you can not go round liberally shooting everything that moves, otherwise you will die. You have to be more tactically astute than that. So losing weapons, is not the biggest loss in the world :)

Just make sure you get the Redemption and All Firearms trophies before starting your pro runthrough :)

Actually I'm usually posting at 9:30am my time -- when I'm procrastinating starting my work day.:p

I did get those trophies, as my goal was to get all trophies that can and should be earned on Normal/Rookie first before playing on Expert/Pro difficulty, so I could completely familiarize myself with every level (I only use walkthrough guides as a last resort.) I only have the 47 kills and the special rating trophies, along with two of the complete weapon upgrade trophies left.

As far as having the upgrades on Pro, I was mostly hoping to have the 50% lock pick upgrade and the best flak jacket available, all the health boosts, as well as the best silencers and scopes for the weapons -- just in case things go awry.;)

Got Notorious and my plat last night! Thanks again for the great guide and responses to my questions!

Having spent so much time perfecting the levels in Normal, Pro didn't turn out to be much trouble. I got SA on the next five missions after A Vintage Year. So I'm glad I didn't spend any extra time getting additional practice on Expert first, as I had originally planned.

As I noted in the difficulty thread, the only mission that gave me real trouble was Amendment XXV, and part of that was due to experimenting with different methods for taking down Parchezzi I came across in some old Hitman forums. Because they were such a fail for me on normal, I was looking for different ways to take out Maynard John and Parchezzi without engaging in gun battles, and in both cases I resorted to mines in my Pro run, which of course negated any chance at an SA ranking.
