If you find this or any other guide I have written useful and as a consequence sign up to the site, I would appreciate it if you gave me a referral upon sign up Overview: -Estimated trophy difficulty - 6/10 -Offline (breakdown) - 7- 14- 4- 1- -Online (breakdown) - 1- 2- -Approximate amount of time to /100% - 15-20 hours -Minimum number of playthroughs needed – 2 -Number of missable trophies – 4 (Mounted Unit to Level 10, Knights to Level 10, Infantry to Level 10 & Archers to Level 10) -Glitched trophies – None -Do cheat codes disable trophies? – No cheats Introduction This game plays like all the other strategy games on the PS3. You control a varying amount of units and the aim is to beat the opposition, take control of an area of the game map, etc. If you have played strategy games like Sid Meiers, Valkyrie Chronicles, etc, you will already be aware of the general setup of these types of games. This game is based upon the Hundred Years' War between England and France. The battles you fight are all based around famous battles from this war. Step 1: Tutorial Start a new campaign and then select the Tutorial Campaign. This takes about 20-30 mins to complete and gets you used to the controls of the game. Playing this will net you the Let the Battle Begin trophy. Step 2: 1st Playthrough (English Campaign) Your first playthrough should be the English Campaign. (Honestly, it does not matter which you do first, but I did the English campaign first, so this roadmap will follow that process.) When you start the campaign you can choose your difficulty. I played on Easy as the trophies are not affected by difficulty; choose whichever you feel comfortable with. The campaign is split into 16 chapters with separate mini-battles dotted around the map, which you can use to level up if you feel you are too weak to complete the main battle. When you first start the campaign, there is a mini-battle available where you get to deal with a revolt by French peasants. This is a great place to power level for the first part of the campaign. I suggest replaying this level quite a few times, until your completion time is around 45-50 seconds. At this point you should be more than strong enough to also get the "Invincible" trophy. Replaying this mini-battle increases the levels of your units, which will helps with the battles ahead. You can play this battle as many times as you like, as long as you do not continue with the campaign (if you do this, the battle becomes unavailable). You get 100 gold every time you complete the battle and the money will come in very handy as you progress through the game. I found that the best method to winning battles during the campaign was to have at least eight units of archers and place them in the front row. The archers take out a great amount of enemies, which reduce the damage your remaining units take. Always ensure that whenever the enemies get too close and start overwhelming, that you move your archers to the back line and have them support your other units. If at any point you struggle with a campaign battle, I suggest using the other mini-battles that are dotted around the map to level up and get yourself some gold, which you can use to purchase additional units or weapons, etc. It is also worth pointing out that some people are having trouble with Chapter 13. The easiest way to complete this battle is to deploy two units to the very top of the map. When the battle starts, move one of these units into the Victory square near where you have deployed. Doing this will make the enemy cavalry flee which will greatly increase the odds of a win for you. Step 3: 2nd Playthrough (French Campaign) For the second playthrough, play as France. This campaign is slightly different in the fact that there are only 10 chapters, but it seemed to me to be a lot harder than the English Campaign, even when the difficulty was set to Easy. Again the tactic that I found worked the best was to have archers take out as many enemies as possible, then use the rest of the army to mop up. By now, though, you will already be accomplished enough in this game to use whichever tactic you feel comfortable with. Remember, the non-campaign mini-battles are there to use to gain money and strength. So if you are struggling with a campaign battle, use these other battles to power up. Step 4: Secret Trophies In this step you are aiming to get the four secret trophies, which are to complete a battle using only one type of unit. The four types of units are: Mounted, Knights, Infantry and Ranged. See the trophy guide for details on these 4 trophies. Step 5: Online There are three trophies that relate to online play. These trophies are "Best 2 of 3", "Best 3 of 5" and "Tactician". The first two trophies relate to winning an online Short Tug of War battle and an online Long Tug of War battle. Luckily, I have found a way that these trophies can be gotten in less than 5 minutes. See the trophy guide for details. You will need to use the following Boosting Thread for online play, as it is very difficult to find anybody playing this game. Step 6: Mop Up This is where you will need to mop up any trophies you may be missing. Enjoy your Platinum!!! Edited September 1, 2017 by Terminator Replaced a missing banner. paultsmith1980
TROPHY GUIDE OFFLINE TROPHIES http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/02.jpgFor God and King Win first battle as English When you play the English campaign, win your first battle to get this trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/03.jpgFor the Fleur de Lis Win first battle as French When you play the French campaign, win your first battle to get this trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/06.jpgThe First Step Recruit your First Troop Recruit your first troop in the army camp by pressing . Select your recruit type and once recruited this trophy will be yours. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/29.jpgAll Around the World Get a unit into each corner of the screen As the description says, get a unit into each corner of the battlefield. This is best to do on a small battlefield where the enemies are positioned in the top center of the battlefield. The reason for this is because you can move around the sides of the battlefield without the enemy attacking you. Do not move within sight of the enemy position, otherwise they will start to advance their attack which will make this a lot harder to achieve. Move a unit in each of the four corners to unlock this trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/07.jpgPower in Numbers Recruit the Max number of units. To get this trophy, you will need to recruit a total of 20 units to your army. Do this by pressing whilst in the army camp and purchase new units. After the 4th battle of the campaign you get access to the Man of Arms unit type, which means you will have a total of three unit types to choose from: Infantry (100 Gold) Archers (200 Gold) and Man of Arms (400 Gold). I did not have enough money until I got to roughly the 13th/14th battle of the campaign to be able to afford to recruit the maximum number of units. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/10.jpgConquer the Playground Win a Sandbox Match The sandbox battle type can be found within the Skirmish mode. This mode is a series of battles spread across the map. Luckily, you do not have to win all of them to unlock this trophy. Start a sandbox match and then just win one of the battles, it does not matter which one. Once you win the trophy will unlock. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/11.jpgSerf Kill 500 Troops See "King" http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/12.jpgKnight Kill 1000 Troops See "King" http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/13.jpgVassal Kill 2000 Troops See "King" http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/20.jpgMounted Unit to Level 10 **Missable** Get a mounted unit to Level 10 See “Archers to Level 10” http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/21.jpgKnights to Level 10 **Missable** Get a knight unit to level 10 See “Archers to Level 10” http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/22.jpgInfantry to Level 10 **Missable** Get an Infantry unit to Level 10 See “Archers to Level 10” http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/23.jpgArchers to Level 10 **Missable** Get a ranged unit to level 10 The four trophies relating to getting a specific unit type to level 10 are easy to achieve, but also missable. As you play through the campaign, your units increase in level based upon the amount of damage that unit inflicts on the enemy. If you power through the campaign you will not get enough experience for you to be able to level up to 10; this is why I say these trophies are missable. To ensure that you get all four, just play through the campaign normally until you can access battle 16/16. Once there, if you haven’t already gotten these trophies (which is certainly possible), then just keep playing one of the miscellaneous mini-battles that are dotted around the map until you units have reached level 10. This should not take you more than 30 minutes of grinding as your units should be at a high enough level by this point and all it will take is a little bit more. Just so there is no confusion, the Knight units are dismouted Cavalry units.... http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/24.jpg10 Heads are Better than One Recruit 10 Units This is exactly like the Power in Numbers and First Step trophies. All you need to do is recruit 10 units. It does not matter what unit types you recruit, just recruit 10 total and you will get this trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/25.jpgMaster Strategist Win a level with all unit Types All you have to do for this trophy is complete a battle with all unit types participating in the battle. The unit types are: Ranged (Archer) Infantry Knights Mounted Unit You should get this trophy by playing through the game normally, as towards the final quarter of the campaign you will have access to all types of units and will end up getting this automatically. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/26.jpgLet the battle begin Complete the tutorial Campaign As the description says, just complete the Tutorial campaign to unlock this trophy. The tutorial is very easy (as expected) and should only take about 30 minutes to complete. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/28.jpgInvincible Win a battle without losing a unit This is easy to achieve if you follow the method described in Step 2 of the road map. When grinding the battle in the English Campaign (as described in step 2 of the roadmap) you get to a point where you can complete the battle within 40-50 seconds. You should easily be winning battles at that point without losing a single unit or sometimes without losing a single person. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/04.jpgGlory to the English Win the English Campaign As the description says, complete the English Campaign to the end to unlock this trophy. The campaign has 16 famous battles from the Hundred Years' War, which you have to complete. Once you finish the last battle you will get a cutscene and then the trophy will unlock. The campaign has 10 famous battles from the Hundred Years' War which you have to complete. Once you finish the last battle you will get a cutscene and then the trophy will unlock. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/14.jpgPrince Kill 5000 troops See "King" http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/15.jpgKing Kill 10,000 troops As you progress through the game, you will fight thousands upon thousands of troops. Kill 10,000 of these and this trophy and all other trophies relating to killing troops will unlock. This unlocked for me partway through my first campaign, so do not worry about this as I can guarantee that you will have more than enough before you finish the first playthrough. If for some reason this is not the case, then do not worry, as the stats carry over between campaigns, so you will get this whilst playing your second campaign. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/01.jpgMedieval Master You have successfully unlocked all of the trophies. As with all platinums. Unlock all other trophies to get this one. SECRET TROPHIES http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/16.jpgMarch to Victory Win a level with only infantry See "Distance is the best defence" for details. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/17.jpgKnights in Shining Armour Win a level with only knights See "Distance is the best defence" for details. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/19.jpgThe Cavalry is here Win a level with only mounted units See "Distance is the best defence" for details. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/18.jpgDistance is the best defence Win a level with only ranged units. Use this strategy to win levels with only one specific type of unit:Go into Skirmish mode and amend an army unit. I suggest changing a small army, as these are easier to control. Disband all units, except for your General, and then recruit new units, making sure that the units you recruit are all the same type (Mounted, Ranged, Knights or Infantry). Once your army is made up of one General and the rest all the same type of unit, save the army and then start a Short Tug of War match. Set the match to Easy (this is done by changing pressing ) and then select the small custom army you have just made. Start the match and play through the first battle. Set on Easy, the enemy should only consist of 3 units, which you should easily make short work of. Once you complete the battle, the trophy for the unit type you select will appear (i.e. If you used all archers, then the Ranged trophy will pop). Once you have the trophy, quit out of the Short Tug of War battle and go back and amend your custom army. Once again disband all units and then purchase the specific units for the next trophy. Follow steps 3 - 6 for each unit type, until you have all four trophies for completing a battle using only one type of unit. ONLINE TROPHIES http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/27.jpgTactician Complete a flanking Manoeuvre A flanking manoeuvre is where you attack an enemy unit from either the side or behind. Unfortunately, this trophy does not seem to unlock whilst playing through the normal campaign. To get this you need to play online. I suggest you find a boosting partner (the online is dead) using the following thread: Boosting Thread. Start a Short Tug of War match. When the battle starts, direct one of your units to attack the enemy from the side or behind and the trophy will unlock. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/08.jpgBest 2 of 3 Win a Short Tug of War This is an online trophy, but one that can be gotten in a very short time. Firstly, find a boosting partner in the Boosting Thread (the online is dead, so you will need a boosting partner). Once you have your partner, create an online Short Tug of War battle and then start the battle. As soon as the first battle starts, get your boosting partner to press and then forfeit the battle. You will win the match and move onto the second battle. Again once, after the battle starts, get your boosting partner to press and then forfeit the battle. Once forfeited a second time, you will be informed that you have won the battle and the trophy will unlock. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/507/09.jpgBest 3 of 5 Win a Long Tug of War This is an online trophy, but one that can be gotten in a very short time. Firstly, find a boosting partner in the Boosting Thread (the online is dead, so you will need a boosting partner). Once you have your partner create an online Long Tug of War battle and then start the battle. As soon as the first battle starts, get your boosting partner to press and then forfeit the battle. You will win the match and move onto the second battle. Again once, after the battle starts, get your boosting partner to press and then forfeit the battle. Repeat a third time. Once forfeited a third time, you will be informed that you have won the battle and the trophy will unlock. samba987
Thanks for the guide mate. I just got the platinum for this game and this guide helped me out alot. The overall is spot on, It took me about 17 hours to get the platinum. And I didn't suffer from any glitched trophies. I defiantly Agree with you on the difficulty being a 6, some of those Chapters are really tough to beat, but they can be done. Thanks Again for the guide

paultsmith1980
How exactly does this game work? Is it anything like the Total War games on the PC? I have never played Total War games on the PC, so cannot really comment on this. Basically the game is all about you and your army (made up of units) facing of against the enemy army. Your army is made up of different types of units (Archers, Infantry, Mounted and Knights) with you deciding the composition of your army. Whilst playing, your units level up, so become better at attacking and defending. Also you start getting access to better equipment.... Hope this make sense!!! paultsmith1980
This is the hardest RTS game i have ever played I finished the English Camping now I'm stuck on MISSION ONE in French Camping. This game is so bad and so hard and so boring. I agree that this is by far one of the hardest if not the hardest battles in the game. The method I used was to surround Joan of Arc with Archers, then as soon as the battle starts have all the archers move so that it is not possible for Joan to advance. This way you protect her.... The Archers can take care of anyone advancing and your mounted units should focus their attention on the enemy archers. This is not a fool proof method, as sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not....
Lucksi
Thank God, I´m not alone. I was wondering if the game was this hard or if I had become this stupid. Yes, the game is totally unfair. The intro to the missions have nothing to do with the missions itself. "The French were retreating", then why can I field only 10 units and they attack all at once with 30? There is no strategy there. No bottlenecks on the map, no terrain to use to my advantage, nothing. I´m on mission 15 for the english and mission 2 for the french. BTW, anyone think the game adjusts to your units? I.e. the higher in level your units are, the better the enemy is as well?

BigPoppaT777
I kept it in a spare save slot just in case so i could retry if needed. Im giving it a couple of tries everyday - i'll get there! (fingers crossed!)
tenpole
Can I point out two alterations that are needed for the trophy guide. Firstly for 'INVINCIBLE' you said "You should easily be winning battles at that point without losing a single unit or sometimes without losing a single person.", you actualy need the latter of your statement to get this. No men must die. I achieved this with archer units only while doing the secret trophy. For the 'POWER IN NUMBERS' although it has a +20 on the trophy badge you can get this by playing as the English and recruiting their maximum 15 units. Saves a bit more grinding. The Piccardy scenario side mission seems to be constantly available so you can use this as your traing platform throughout the English campaign, it has not so far disapeared on me but I have not finished yet. Edit:I have just tried recruiting more units on English campaign and I can still recruit more. I think that the max level of units you can have increases as you progress. Maybe it is just glitched but it did ping for me when I bought my 15th unit. Edited February 18, 2011 by tenpole
Fragpuss
Can you explain this a little better? i presume the mission is the first mission on the english chapter? if so you say not to continue but i tried pressing back (circle) after the mission and it just took me straight to the map and moved on to the next chapter of the campaign, what am i doing wrong?
