Introduction:

This PSN game contains a total of 12 online only trophies. The trophies consist of reaching the specified amounts of online games, wins, strikes, spares, pins knocked down and high match scores. As in normal bowling a technique needs to be found in order to consistently hit strikes and high scores to achieve certain trophies, see the strike tips section at the end of the guide.

Missable Trophy:

1600+ Trophy (Bronze) - It's not exactly a missable trophy but it can be made more difficult unless you do the following. When you initially go online your online score starts at 1500 at this point the best method is to win 2-3 games to reach 1600. This can be done by finding a friend or boosting partner (see the http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/high-velocity-bowling/8270-trophy-boosting-thread-read-first-post.html) to allow you to win. Jump in an empty lobby together and start a game, as soon as the game starts your opponent can press start and choose to quit, this will give you the win be default, repeat 2-3 times. When you have reached 1600 you must then win and fully complete an entire game until the scoreboard appears at the end. The trophy will only then unlock. The reason for stating this is that if you were to start online and loose a few games your score will drop very quickly and is much more time consuming to build back up to 1600.

Strikes - Tips, Tricks & Methods:

There are various ways of scoring strikes using many different characters/bowling balls/lanes/oil patterns. You may find a way of consistently scoring strikes as you play through and develop a technique yourself. Different characters/bowling balls & lanes are unlocked through completing the single player challenges, bowlers are also available via DLC from the PSN store. A good consistent score/strike is required mainly for the "Score 250" trophy. Below are a few different methods, they may not be for the specific character you are using but can be adapted and tweaked to suit:

Mike with Black "F" ball, house oil pattern, Carl's alley

Start at the dot 2nd in from the left, aim to the dot nearest to the left edge of the alley. 1/2 spin with 1/2 to 3/4's power. Tweak till you find the ideal swing.

Tiffany and a ball with a "B" spin rating

Start at the dot farthest to the left and point the arrow to the dot just to the right of the centre one. Both your spin and power should be in the green. Play around with the power and spin a bit until you find the zone.

Tiffany, blue ball (C+ spin)

Using the 9-pip layout aim from 2nd pip from left, at first pip right of centre.

Medium spin (about 50% of the height from bottom to top of arrow)

Medium speed, between 's' and 'e' in SpEed, somewhere hovering over the P.

Too much power (Above 'p') and you'll miss the headpin to the right, too little power and you've got a chance to hit the head dead on and get a split

For LH player - Mike with the skull ball.

Play on Joe's lane and start from a little bit to the left of the first dot on the left of the centre, aim a little bit to the right of the dot on the left of the centre. Give it perfect index finger curve and a little less than perfect speed. It takes a couple of games to find your niche.

Hiro "Black" F ball

Aim from far right dot to far right dot again. Hammerhead shaped oil pattern. 3/4 power, 3/4 to full spin.

My roommate accidentally started this on my account, so yeah...bowling time for me. I had a question regarding the quitting method. I was wondering if the method could be used for boosting wins rather than the 1600 score. Could I just get my opponent to quit 25 games and then the "Win 25 Games" trophy would pop? Or would I have do that, and then play a full game for it to register?

I did this method before in Blitz the League and it worked, but those were honestly some of the worst servers I've ever seen, so maybe that was why.

I'm not 100% but I believe it would work, mainly as the 1600 trick works in a similar way. Someone else may know for sure though. It wouldn't take too long to test it out.

These temper tantrums these players are giving especially Mike is getting really annoying.

Mike is doing to damn much seriously.

lol, I remember that being pretty annoying!
