INTRODUCTION

Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Dreamy Theater (henceforth "Dreamy Theater") is a PS3 Expansion Pack for Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- (henceforth "Project DIVA") on the PSP. Before you can load Dreamy Theater, there are a few requirements both on the hardware and software sides of the equation.

You will need...

1) A PSP-1000, -2000 or -3000 (Dreamy Theater is confirmed to work with these three models, I have no information on the PSP Go), the latest Official Firmware for it (I used OFW 6.39), and a USB Cable to connect the PSP to the PS3. Proceed w/ caution if you use Custom Firmware as Sony doesn't support it and there are a lot of reports that Dreamy Theater won't work on CFW.

2) A Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- UMD on the PSP. There is a "Greatest Hits" re-release called Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Ohaidoku-han; this too will work for Dreamy Theater.

To set up Dreamy Theater...

1) Compete Project DIVA on the PSP. You will need a 100% Complete Save (35/35 Songs Unlocked) to transfer into Dreamy Theater.

2) Download Dreamy Theater (初音ミク -Project DIVA- ドリーミーシアター) from the JP PSN Store. It costs 3000 Yen ($38.89 at the current exchange rate) and comes w/ two files. The first file is called 初音ミク -Project DIVA- ドリーミーシアター, this is the PS3 Game. The second file is called 初音ミク -Project DIVA- ドリーミーシアター 接続アプリ, this is a "connection application" for the PSP. Connect the PSP to the PS3, put it in USB Mode, and copy it to the PSP's Memory Stick.

3) Load Dreamy Theater on the PS3. Press :start:, then :cross: to choose the option "Begin Connection" (接続開始). The screen should then say "Confirming Connection to the PSP" (PSP接続確認中です). Leave it like this, then connect the PSP to the PS3 via USB Cable. Load the "connection application" you saved to the Memory Stick. Similar to what we did on the PS3, press :start:, then :circle: to choose the option "Yes" (はい), then :circle: once more for another "Yes" (はい). At this point, Project DIVA on the PSP and Dreamy Theater on the PS3 will connect to one another.

4) Proceed to transfer your 100% Complete Save from the PSP to the PS3. This will allow you to access all 35 Songs which we'll need to conquer in Dreamy Theater in order to earn trophies. Once you are finished file transferring, you can feel free to disconnect and turn off the PSP. At this point, I also recommend turning on "Auto-Save" (オートーセーブ) via "Options" (オプション) which is the 6th Option on the Main Menu.

5) To load Dreamy Theater in the future, simply repeat #3. After the connection has been made, you can disconnect and turn off the PSP. You won't have to transfer data again until you start working on the "Edit Mode" trophies (refer to the Trophy Guide for more information).

ROAD MAP

There are three main objectives in Dreamy Theater:

Step #1

Earn a Perfect Rating on all 35 Songs on all 3 Difficulties (105 Perfects Total). 7 of the 12 total trophies will be earned in this step. Refer to オリジナル楽曲 HARD ALL PERFECT (G) for details.

Step #2

Create and transfer, clear, and watch 39 Edit Songs. 2 of the 12 total trophies will be earned in this step. Refer to エディット楽曲 39曲クリア (B) for details.

Step #3

Clean up the time-related trophies. 3 of the 12 total trophies will be earned in this step. Refer to プレイ時間 3939分(65時間39分)以上 (B) and ゲーム起動 39回 (B) for details.

Obviously, Step #3 should be the last since Game Starts and Play Time will accumulate as you work on Step #1 and Step #2. That aside, however, there is a lot of flexibility in terms of how you approach these trophies and the list, albeit grind-intensive, is very straight-forward. You can earn a Perfect Rating on all 35 Songs in order on Easy, Normal, and Hard Difficulties as your first task, or you can crush the 39 Edit Songs for a couple easy (B)s from the start - it's entirely up to you, and I recommend mixing it up a bit in order to keep Dreamy Theater a fun, fresh experience.

TROPHY GUIDE

全リズムゲームのHARD/PERFECTを取得

[Perfect Rating on All Original Songs (Hard Difficulty)]

[Earn a Perfect Rating on All Rhythm Games (Hard Difficulty)]

Difficulty-related trophies do not stack, but the performance-related trophies do stack. For example, if you start off on Hard Difficulty and earn a Perfect Rating on all 35 Songs on your first try, オリジナル楽曲 HARD ALL PERFECT (G) will unlock, as will オリジナル楽曲 HARD ALL GREAT (S). However, オリジナル楽曲 NORMAL ALL PERFECT (S), オリジナル楽曲 NORMAL ALL GREAT (S), オリジナル楽曲 EASY ALL PERFECT (S), and オリジナル楽曲 EASY ALL GREAT (B) will not.

To earn a Perfect Rating on a given song, you need to Full Combo it - that means a "Cool" or "Fine" on every note, and additionally, you also need to hit all of the correct buttons. For example, if you are at 500 Combo and a :cross: is coming up, but you hit :circle: on it and get a "Cool" or "Fine," the result will be an increase to 501 Combo but you will be disappointed at the end of the song when a Perfect Rating is not awarded.

Perfect Ratings are represented as a crown icon on the header image for the song. You need a crown icon on all 35 Songs on Hard Difficulty for this (G), as well as on Normal Difficulty and Easy Difficulty for their respective (S)s. Similarly, Great Ratings are represented as a star icon on the header image for the song; however, as I mentioned previously, the performance-related trophies stack, so it is in your best interest to always aim for Perfect Ratings and acquire the (S)s and (B) for the Great Ratings along the way.

"Kogane no Seiya Sousetsu ni Kuchite" (金の聖夜霜雪に朽ちて, also informally known as the "Christmas Song") on Hard Difficulty is, hands down, the hardest chart in the game and it tends to be the main factor dividing those who can 100% Dreamy Theater and those who cannot. I've created a thread w/ advice and discussion related to this track, it is located here: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/miku-hatsune-project-diva-dreamy-theater/119630-kogane-no-seiya-sousetsu-ni-kuchite-hard.html.

Additionally, LoAlexandria has some videos of Hard Perfects (as well as Extreme Perfects for Dreamy Theater 2nd) located on his YouTube Channel, which can be accessed here: LoAlexandria's Channel - YouTube.

At the time of this writing, there are a mere 33 people in the world (only a small few of whom are located outside Japan) who have earned this trophy. If you have the time, skill, and dedication to achieve it, it will be an admirable addition to your trophy collection!

[Clear All Original Songs]

[Clear 35 Original Songs]

Once you have cleared (on any difficulty, with any rating) all 35 Songs in Dreamy Theater, it will unlock. This tends to be the first trophy that people earn in the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/636/08.jpg エディット楽曲 39曲クリア http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png

[Clear 39 Edit Songs]

[Clear 39 or more Edit Songs]

For incredible information and translations on all things Edit Mode, refer to ChaosAlert's "Rhythm Play Edit Guide" over at GameFAQs: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva FAQs, Walkthroughs, and Guides for PSP - GameFAQs. It is the best resource for the PSP side of these trophies.

Skim through the aforementioned FAQ and create 39 Edit Songs in Project DIVA. The 39 can all be the same song and note chart, but must be saved separately as 39 individual files on the PSP. The bare minimum is 4 notes required, and although any music track can be used, I recommend "Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru (Shite Yan Yo)" (みくみくにしてあげる♪ 【してやんよ】) because it is one of the shorter songs. In total, creation of the 39 Edit Songs should take no more than 30-45 minutes, maybe a little longer if you need time to familiarize yourself w/ Edit Mode or can't read Japanese.

When finished, import the 39 Edit Songs into Dreamy Theater. Choose "DIVA Data Copy" (DIVAデータコピー) which is the 4th Option on the Main Menu. A window will say "Connecting to the PSP (PlayStation Portable). Is this okay?" (PSP (PlayStation Portable) と接続します。よろしいですか?) Press :cross: for "Yes" (はい). Now connect the PSP and run the connection application in the same manner as always done to boot Dreamy Theater, then transfer all 39 Edit Songs onto the PS3.

At this point, to play the 39 Edit Songs, choose "Free Play" (フリープレイ) which is the 1st Option on the Main Menu, then press :r1: to access a list of your Edit Songs. Clear all of them to unlock エディット楽曲 39曲クリア (B), then choose "Watch" (視聴) to watch all of them in PV Mode and unlock エディット楽曲 PV視聴 39曲 (B). For the latter of these two trophies, you can also run them in a Playlist - Refer to プレイ時間 3939分(65時間39分)以上 (B) for details on how to create Playlists.

[39 Hours or more Play Time]

[Play Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Dreamy Theater for a total of 39 Hours or more]

Refer to プレイ時間 3939分(65時間39分)以上 (B).

初音ミク -Project DIVA- ドリーミーシアターを累計3939分以上プレイ

[3939 Minutes (65 Hours and 39 Minutes) or more Play Time]

[Play Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Dreamy Theater for a total of 3939 Minutes or more]

There is a strict definition of what constitutes "Play Time" in Dreamy Theater, and it is time spent playing the game itself and time spent watching PVs. Leaving the game on at the main menu or any other screen will not count towards the total time needed.

The easiest way to unlock this (and プレイ時間 39時間以上 (B) along the way) is via PV Mode and a Playlist. Choose "Create Playlist" (プレイリスト作成) which is the 3rd Option on the Main Menu, then choose "Create a New Playlist" (新しいプレイリストの作成). Give it a name and fill 'er up to the maximum 99/99 Songs. You can use a single song over and over again, or use several songs if you like... it doesn't matter at all as long as it's a Playlist. When you are finished, back out to the Main Menu.

To run the Playlist, choose "Free Play" (フリープレイ) which is the 1st Option on the Main Menu, then press :r1: :r1: to access a list of your Playlists. Select the one we created and press :triangle: to turn "Repeat" (リピート) to "ON" and start it up. Go to bed, work, or do whatever else and it will continue to run PVs indefinitely; all time spent in this mode will contribute to the 65 Hours and 39 Minutes or more Play Time required for these trophies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/636/12.jpg ゲーム起動 39回 http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png

初音ミク -Project DIVA- ドリーミーシアターを39回以上起動

[start the Game 39 Times]

[start Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Dreamy Theater for a total of 39 Times or more]

This seems like it would be self-explanatory, but there is a small catch. In order for Dreamy Theater to count the fact that you started it, you need to Save. If you simply start the game and then turn it off immediately, it won't count.

Start, save, quit, start, save, quit... rinse and repeat as many times as necessary until you reach 39. For those who can't read Japanese, "Save" (セーブ) is the 7th Option on the Main Menu.

cuz i have no clue how to get them yet xD

+ the time trophies: could you add

how to create a playlist?

and how to set PV? altho i think it'll take 65hrs to get hard perfect tho xD

for the hard perfect, ild recommand to view vids of ppl who perfected a song your just trying - reason: you hear that .... "bell-sound" or whatever it is, whenever the guy hit the button - so its easy to get the rhythm right. you can hear short breaks, you can hear how fast or slow some weird "combo's" are etc.

maybe you know what i mean xD

and a last question for DT2 actually - i heard there are all DT1 songs on DT2 - do i have to redo all easy, normal and hard perfects? just asking, because i just perfected hatsune miku no shoushitsu, and ild do it as soon as possible if i really have to rather than wait a few weeks and practice over and over again

Yes, my input on those two trophies depends on a decision by the staff. I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

Yup, I will be adding that as well with screenshots to show the exact options on the screen. Again, waiting on the staff for now because literally 1/2 of the guide content is based on their response to a question I've asked them. Until then, this guide is far from complete, it's simply the foundation.

I don't have the equipment needed to make my own videos, and there aren't a lot of Hard Perfect videos on YouTube. There are a ton on Nico Nico Douga, but I can't embed NND videos on PS3T. We'll see, let me look into it b/c it is a good suggestion.

DT2 100% requires you to Perfect DT1 *and* DT2 songs on all difficulties. So yeah, unfortunately we have to do Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu (Hard) and Kogane no Seiya Sousetsu ni Kuchite (Hard) a second time, lol. >_<;

Stay tuned for *a lot* more updates to this guide as soon as I hear back from the staff, and thanks for your patience. :)

Pretty sure 35 is the total. Are you sure you didn't miscount? Or do you have a DLC Song on your account?

If you have the time and resources to do that (as well as the skill :)) it would be a great addition and I'm definitely interested. Embedding 35 videos into the guide itself might be a bit much, so how about creating a separate thread for "Dreamy Theater - Hard Perfect Videos" and I'll link to it? I'll make sure you receive full credit as a contributor to the guide when I submit it.

Thanks for the fantastic guide! I'm just curious, do the 39 edit song plays have to be on different songs, or does playing the same song multiple times count? I only have 29 edit songs.

You need 39 separate edit files. All 39 can be multiple copies of the same song/chart if you want, but the files themselves have to be separate. I'll be adding detail on this to the guide shortly. :)

Ooh, a nice current thread about this game. That's nice to see.

I just perfected the silly Christmas song for the gold trophy, and now only one remains - the start the game 39 times hidden trophy.

Are you sure we just have to save and reload? I read elsewhere that you actually have to load on different days for it to count. Apparently you can just change the system date, but I'm not sure. I've reloaded mine a few times now and it's yet to unlock.

False rumor. There is no need to load it on different days, mess w/ the system clock, or anything else related to date/time stamps. Just boot, save, quit, boot, save, quit etc. like I mentioned under that trophy. Saving each time is the key that a lot of people miss.

EDIT - Oh, and congratulations on the Christmas Song! Not a lot of people can manage to pull off that Perfect. :)

Ah, okay, thanks! I got the trophy to unlock after a few times changing the system date and saving. I thought I might as well, but at least now others reading the thread will know it's not necessary!

So now I have 100%, which is nice. :)

Honestly, I thought the Christmas song was going to be harder, with that nasty piano solo part. The worst was that the first time I got it right, I got a safe on the last note of the song, guh.

I'm dreading Singing Passion in PD2.

Speaking of which, are there any updated firmware requirements for the PSP in the second game?

Congratulations on the 100%, you are among an elite ~3 dozen or so people (according to the stats on YGC at least, which are pretty much the best we have until Sony implements their own leaderboard... I won't hold my breath for that one, haha) who have done it. :D

Yeah, Dreamy Theater 2nd requires OFW 6.60, I was surprised to find I had to upgrade in order to even *copy* the PSP Appli from the PS3.

Okay, thanks. I'll be trying to get it today.

I can't find the games on YGC - are they somewhere obscure or am I just being inept?

Edit: don't worry, found it. Wasn't looking under M for Miku. And wow, surprised so few have done it. It's even fewer than it appears, as quite a few of those are duplicate accounts getting the trophies two or three times.

For the play 39 edited songs trophy I found a website that has lots of custom songs that you can download from the website (save files and links to songs). The majority of them are great and work perfectly. A lot of them are fun and challenging.

An option for people who want to play different songs for the trophy.

So you have to have a PSP to play this? Is there any downloadable PS3 only Miku game on the JP psn store that doesn't require a PSP or Vita?

You don't have to own a PSP, but you just need someone with a 100% Complete Save (35/35 songs unlocked) to play it, so you can get it off a friend. Sadly, Dreamy Theater 1 and 2 are the only Hatsune Miku games on PS3. :(

That's not correct. You DO need a PSP as well as the Project DIVA UMD. You can't even boot Dreamy Theater without it, let less transfer the 100% Complete Save to the PS3. Refer to my Road Map for more information.
