Road Map:

Step 1: Complete the game on Advanced or Normal Difficulty, obtaining all collectibles

To begin, start a new story mode and select Advanced or Normal difficulty. In this playthrough, you will want to focus on getting all collectibles. For help with this, please see the Collectibles Guide by GODCHILD1020 or the Collectibles Video Guide by ssdd2k. Once this step is complete, you will earn all story-related trophies and collectible related trophies, as well as any additional trophies you earn.

Step 2: Complete the game on Expert

Now that you have completed story mode once, Expert difficulty has been unlocked. Expert difficulty, the equivalent of The Deathly Hallows Part 1's Hard difficulty, isn't particularly taxing, but there are few tough spots. Remember to stay in cover as much as possible and be patient, as there is no rush to get through the game. Only a few trophies will be earned in this step, such as Hogwarts Defender and Accomplished Wizard.

Step 3: Challenge Mode

This is where you will earn three trophies: First Rung, Up to the Challenge and Shining Example. For assistance in these challenges, see the Challenge Mode Guide by GODCHILD1020. Once this step is complete and all twelve challenges have been completed you may have a few extra trophies to clean up.

Step 4: Clean Up

This step will most likely be your last, as some of the random trophies are rather a pain to obtain. Particulary difficult ones are That Showed Them, Stopped in Their Tracks and Care of the Castle. For more information how to obtain these, please see the appropriate trophy walkthrough.

Complete the game on Normal.

See “Mastering Magic” below.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgMastering Magic (B)

Complete the game on Advanced.

To obtain both this trophy and “Wizard-in-Training” above, start a game on Advanced difficulty. Simply complete all twelve chapters on Advanced difficulty, and both trophies will unlock, as difficulty trophies are stackable unlike the game’s predecessor.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgAccomplished Wizard (S)

Complete the game on Expert.

You must complete the game once to unlock “Expert” Difficulty on the difficulties menu. Select “New Game” and choose Expert difficulty. Expert is made a bit easier considering that all spells are available from the get-go since you have already beaten the game once. Expert isn’t too hard, but there are a few parts that will test your patience, particularly a few chapters, such as “A Giant Problem”, “The Battle of Hogwarts” and possibly “Not My Daughter”. Just remember to take your time and use cover to avoid a barrage of spells flying your way. Once you have completed all twelve chapters on Expert difficulty, the trophy will unlock.

Play as McGonagall.

Story-related and cannot be missed. Professor Minerva McGonagall is a playable character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, as well as many other characters. This trophy will automatically unlock at the beginning of chapter three, “A Problem of Security”.

Play as Molly.

Story-related and cannot be missed. Molly Weasley is a playable character in the second half of chapter eleven, “Not My Daughter”. The trophy will unlock as soon as you begin playing as Mrs. Weasley.

Story-related and cannot be missed. Neville will become a playable character towards the end of chapter five, “A Job to Do”. As soon as you start playing as Neville, the trophy will unlock.

Collect 100% of all items.

You must collect every extra in the game to get this trophy. There are 12 Music tracks, 20 characters and 12 challenges to find. Collectibles in this game are much easier to keep track of than its predecessor, and collectibles do carry through different playthroughs. If you need assistance in finding all collectibles, please use GODCHILD1020’s Collectibles Guide or ssdd2k's Collectibles Video Guide, as they are both a major help in finding all collectibles. Note that one of the collectibles, as shown in the guide, can not be obtained until after you get the apparation skill.

Enemy Defeat Trophies

NOTE: All of the following trophies in this section ARE cumulative through different playthroughs, as well as when you die and reload a checkpoint.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/02.jpgCasting from Cover (B)

Defeat an enemy wizard from cover for the first time.

This trophy can be obtained in the first chapter, “Gringotts”. As long as you follow the game’s tutorial and cast the spell from behind cover, you will get this trophy. However, if you do miss this at that point, there will be plenty more opportunities to defeat enemies from behind cover- just get into cover by pressing :cross: next to a low wall or debris, and defeat an enemy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgCovert Confidence (B)

Defeat 100 enemy wizards from cover.

This trophy can be achieved in one playthrough. Just make sure that you are attached to cover by pressing :cross:. When you kill your 100th enemy from behind cover, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/16.jpgBlind Luck (B)

Defeat 10 enemy wizards from cover, without aiming.

To obtain this trophy, you have to cast spells only with :r1: when behind cover, making sure NOT to aim with :l1:. When you have defeated 10 enemies with blind fire spells, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/20.jpgProtego! (B)

Successfully use Protego against 100 spells.

To use the Protego spell, hold :l2:. Protego is a shielding spell used to defend against incoming spells. If you use Protego while battling enemies in the first chapter, “Gringotts”, you will most likely get the trophy, as I obtained it shortly before finishing the chapter. If you do not receive it there, just remember to use Protego as often as possible to repel spells. Once 100 spells have been stopped with Protego, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgExpelliarmus! (B)

Successfully dispel 100 enemy Protego shields using Expelliarmus.

To use the spell “Expelliarmus”, press :triangle: once. You will not be able to access the Expelliarmus spell until Chapter 2 when you learn it. Some enemies will deploy a red-orange shield in front of them when you try to cast spells. If this occurs, use Expelliarmus to destroy the enemy’s shield. Do this 100 times to obtain the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgPetrificus Totalus! (B)

Successfully Body-Bind 100 enemy wizards with Petrificus Totalus.

Petrificus Totalus is unlocked as you progress through the story, so you have to wait until the spell is unlocked in Chapter 5 to use it. To equip the spell, press :square: twice in rapid succession. Aim with :l1: and shoot any enemies you see to put them into a body-bind. Note that some enemies require more than one shot from the spell to be defeated. Also note that the spell has a short recharge time before it can be used again. Once 100 enemies have been defeated with the spell, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgExpulso! (B)

Successfully defeat 100 enemy wizards with Expulso.

Expulso will not be available until you progress through Chapter 3 in the story. Once you obtain the spell, press :circle: once to equip it. Expulso is a spell that is basically a rapid-fire version of “Stupefy”, the stunning spell. Simply defeat 100 wizards with Expulso to earn this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgConfringo! (B)

Successfully defeat 100 enemy wizards with Confringo.

Press :triangle: twice to equip the Confringo spell. Confringo is a spell that explodes upon impact with an object. Aim the spell at 100 wizards and defeat them with it to get this trophy. Also note that the spell does have a longer recharge time than “Petrificus Totalus”, so it’s suggested that you weaken an enemy with one spell and then finish them off with Expulso when it has recharged.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgStrategic Spell-casting (B)

Defeat 50 enemy wizards using more than one spell.

This trophy is unlocked by first weakening an opponent with one spell then finishing them with another. For example, you can weaken an opponent with Expulso (press :circle: once) and then finish them off with Petrificus Totalus (press :square: twice). Simply combine any two spells and kill fifty wizard enemies this way to unlock the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/34.jpgThe Best Defence… (S)

Use Protego to defeat 20 enemy wizards at close range.

To use Protego, hold :l2:. This trophy is obtained by defeating twenty enemies with Protego. To do this, simply run up close to an enemy and use the Protego spell. If you did this correctly, the enemy will be knocked back by a small explosion and will be defeated. Simply do this twenty times for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/35.jpgBack to You… (S)

Defeat 10 enemy wizards with Protego deflections.

Once again, you will need to use Protego with :l2:. To deflect a spell with Protego, wait until the spell beam is about to hit you. Then, you will need to hold :l2: to cast Protego. If timed correctly, the spell will bounce back at the person who fired it, injuring them. If you do this enough times per enemy, they will fall and be defeated. Defeat ten enemies this way to unlock the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgThat Showed Them… (B)

Defeat 4 enemy wizards with a Confringo cast.

This trophy is actually rather difficult to obtain, and requires luck. I managed to obtain it in one spot in the story. In chapter five, “A Job to Do”, you will be on the second part when defending Seamus. This will be at the 2nd segment, AFTER coming from area where charges 5 and 6 were placed. You will know that you are in the right place once you get the first checkpoint AFTER you gain control of Neville, not the first part that you start on when Seamus is down the hill avoiding enemies coming down the large hill. In the second segment, 2 enemies on lower path near charge 4 will apparate. Immediately begin firing Expulso (press :circle: once) at the stronger enemies to weaken them. After weakening each a bit (you will have to do this rather fast) make sure that the 2 stronger enemies are near the 2 weaker enemies up the walkway and that the group gets hit in the middle by the Confringo (press :triangle: twice) blast. This may take many tries, but will eventually come with luck. I obtained it on my tenth try, and the trophy popped five to ten seconds later. I suggest attempting this trophy on the easiest difficulty, “Normal”, as enemies seem to be weaker on this difficulty.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgStopped in Their Tracks (B)

Defeat 5 enemy wizards with one Impedimenta cast.

This trophy is another difficult one that will eventually come with luck. To use impedimenta, press :circle: twice (the spell will not be available until later in the game). One place I was able to get this trophy was in chapter nine, “Surrender”. In this chapter, large amounts of enemies will spawn on a bridge. Wait until you get a group of five or more enemies and get in close to them. If you are lucky and nobody casts a shield charm when you cast Impedimenta, your charm will hit and kill 5 people. This trophy is difficult but can eventually be achieved with luck on the bridge segment. Normal difficulty is recommended for this trophy, since you take less damage and enemies are weaker.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/38.jpgA Good Offence (S)

Defeat 10 enemy wizards before they cast a spell.

This trophy is rather easy for a silver trophy, and will most likely unlock without much effort. I managed to obtain it in the first chapter. To get this trophy, you just need to defeat ten enemies before they cast a spell at you. Pay attention to where the enemies spawn and shoot spells at them as fast as you are able. If you are lucky or did it fast enough, the enemy will be defeated before they were able to cast a spell at you.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/39.jpgA Good Start (B)

Defeat 100 enemy wizards in the Main Story and/or challenges.

See “Hogwarts Defender” Below. This trophy will most likely be earned by the end of the third chapter, or in chapter five sometime.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgGetting There… (S)

Defeat 500 enemy wizards in the Main Story and/or challenges.

See “Hogwarts Defender” Below. This trophy will most likely be earned around chapter eight sometime.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgHogwarts Defender (G)

Defeat 1000 enemy wizards in the Main Story and/or challenges.

To obtain the “Defeat X wizards” trophies, all you have to do is simply defeat enemies throughout story mode. This trophy will most likely be earned in a second playthrough, on or around chapter five. As the trophy is earned on the second playthrough, it is cumulative through any playthrough with all enemies you defeat. Kills also count even if you die and reload a checkpoint.

Challenge Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgFirst Rung (B)

Complete your first challenge.

See “Shining Example” below.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgUp to the Challenge (G)

Complete all challenges.

See “Shining Example” below.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgShining Example (G)

Complete all challenges at Gold standard.

There are a total of twelve challenges in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, each one according to one of the twelve levels of the game. You cannot play all of the challenges until you have found all twelve hidden challenge collectibles throughout the game. All challenges are rather straight-forward and not too hard to get gold on, with the exception of one or two, namely challenge number seven, “The Lost Diadem”. Gold is the second-best medal you can get in challenges, being right behind platinum. This alone makes getting this trophy easier since gold isn’t as challenging to obtain as platinum. Simply complete all challenges at gold or platinum level, and the trophy will pop, along with “Up to the Challenge” if you have not yet obtained it. For help with challenges, see GODCHILD1020’s Challenge Guide, which definitely helps with each and every challenge, especially number seven.

The following times are what you will need for gold on each challenge:

Challenge 1- Gringotts: 9:30 or under

Challenge 2-The Streets of Hogsmeade: 9:00 or under

Challenge 3- A Problem of Security: 4:00 or under

Challenge 4- The Basilisk Fang: 12:30 or under

Challenge 5- A Job to Do: 7:00 or under

Challenge 6- A Giant Problem: 4:00 or under

Challenge 7- The Lost Diadem: 3:30 or under

Challenge 8- The Battle of Hogwarts: 9:30 or under

Challenge 9- Surrender: 3:00 or under

Challenge 10- A Turn of Events: 3:30 or under

Challenge 11- Not My Daughter: 7:40 or under

Challenge 12- Voldemort’s Last Stand: 3:30 or under

NOTE: Challenges only register once you have chosen the "Continue" option, not if you choose the "Replay Challenge" option then quit out.

Miscellaneous Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/45.jpgNot a Scratch (B)

Complete any level without being defeated.

This trophy is very easy, especially when playing on “Normal” difficulty. It can be obtained on any difficulty, but Normal is the easiest way to go. Simply complete any level without dying and the trophy will pop at the end. I suggest playing the first level, "Gringotts" to achieve this trophy. Just make sure to take your time in the last segment and you should be fine.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/48.jpgHaving a Blast (B)

Trigger 5 explosive reactions.

This trophy is earned by casting spells at torches or lanterns, causing an explosion. I earned this in the first chapter, but it can be earned all through the game. Simply shoot at five torches or lanterns and cause five explosions to earn this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgCare of the Castle (B)

Escape Voldemort with minimal damage to Hogwarts.

This trophy is a difficult one to earn, as the chase sequence is hard to complete when only shooting at a small amount of objects. To earn this one, do NOT shoot at any knights in armor or trophy display cases. Instead, focus only on archways, stairs, and torches. You have to shoot under ten items to get this trophy, as if you destroy ten or over, it will not be earned. Patience and perseverance will earn you this trophy, as the chase sequence may require many tries.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1003/ock.jpgNow You See Me (B)

Apparate over 100 metres.

You will not be able to apparate until the ability unlocks through normal story gameplay. To apparate, move the left stick in any direction that has open walkway, and press :r2:. Harry will apparate a few metres per apparition. Simply continue apparating until the trophy pops. Note that you will have to wait a few seconds between each apparition.

Quick question - Are the "Defeat 100 enemy wizards with X spell" trophies cumulative across playthroughs, like the "Defeat X amount of enemies" ones? I would assume they are, but just to check.

Yes should be, I got them all in one playthrough, I also used chapter select. So I assume they are.

Nice guide so far.

Thanks for the guide, it's gonna be very helpful. Thanks GODCHIL1020 too for your work on the collectible guide. ;)

Glad it helped. Also I hope you don't take this the wrong way, But I also planned on doing a guide. I just was waiting for my partner to give the okay when he added his info in.

Thanks to everybody for the thank you's for the guide :) I figured since I did the guide for part one I'd make an effort to also have a guide for part 2, since Harry Potter is pretty much my favorite thing in the universe.

GODCHILD1020, if you so choose you and your friend can make life less busy since I already made a guide. However, multiple guides have happened before, and every guide I have used with your name on it has always been awesome and has helped quite a bit with nearly everything. :)

I know and I seen that you did the previous one. I might not do it and just send you the info I already have. I will have to check with the member I was doing the guide with first.

So if i died will it save my defeats like the protego ones? or will i have to do it all over again ?

Yes, they will still count. I died plenty of times in the same chapter and a few popped while in the same chapter I died in.

All right mate, that would be awesome. I'd really like my guide to be chosen and stuck, as I'm trying to improve my guide-making skills, plus I love Harry Potter. But I'll understand if not lol... guides are an awful lot of work. :)

Sorry Hoagie, my partner still wanted to post it. I hope there is n bad blood between us. You can still improve you skills with my guide or you guide is chosen.

How every it goes, hoefully you and I can partner up and do the Lego Harry potter game years 5-7 together?

No hard feelings at all, m8. I understand how much work these guides are and to just ditch that would be ridiculous lol. That sounds like a plan, actually, I think that would be awesome. Just let me know, as I will most likely be getting that game day one!

Do the collectables stay with you across playthroughs?

So if I get 50% of them in one I can get 50% in the other?

Yes, they roll over to all playthroughs and if you do chapter select. If you already collected them, they will not show up in that location.

Also, if you want to know what chapters you are missing collectibles in go to select chapter and they will show up under the chapter's name.
