Introduction:

The trophies of this game are pretty challenging. You need to be a good Expert player to get the platinum. 5 playthroughs are required for platinum. All instrument careers and a band career. Metallica is glitched but in a good way. You only have to complete the last song in the career to get the trophy. Most of the trophies you can do with any difficulty setting but some require you to be on Hard, Expert or Expert+. Cheats disable trophies but you can use extra cheats such as Hyperspeed to make it easier to see the notes.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete Tutorials and Create Custom Items

  • First you should learn how to play the game by completing the Tutorials.
  • Do each instrument tutorial individually. Make sure you have Guitar Hero drums or you can't do the drum tutorials. Then just watch through the Band tutorial with any instrument.
  • After the tutorials, create your own rocker with a custom instrument and a tattoo. Then make your own band with a custom logo and you're ready to start a career.

Step 2: Complete Career Mode with every instrument

  • Now you should complete Career Mode with every instrument and get all of the other career related trophies. You can do it with any difficulty setting that suits you best.
  • This part is time consuming but you don't have to play each song to complete a career, getting enough stars will unlock the final song needed to complete the career.
  • You should also complete 'The Thing That Should Not Be' on Expert with any instrument to get the Expert career trophy.

Step 3: Complete Band Career

  • Here you should either get a friend with you or do this alone by playing vocals and an instrument at the same time.

Step 4: Get miscellaneous Quickplay trophies

  • Here you should get all the offline trophies you missed in career and get quickplay related trophies.
  • If you can't do some of the hardest ones, you can skip them and practice for them later during the clean-up.

Step 5: Get Band and Online Trophies

  • Now you should get all the Band related trophies locally with your friend or online with a boosting partner.
  • After it you should aim to get the Online only trophies and download a song from GHTunes.

Step 6: Clean-up

  • Here you should get all the trophies you have missed and try to get the hardest trophies you couldn't get earlier.
  • You should practice the hardest songs in Practice mode to learn them properly.
  • Once this part is done you should have your platinum.

Complete a song with any instrument on Hard or Expert in local Quickplay or Career

For this trophy you need to complete any song on Hard or Expert.

If you're having trouble to do it the easiest way to get this trophy is to pick a song on Vocals with only talking sections such as 'Blood and Thunder' or 'War Ensemble' and place the mic next to speakers or a fan to get 100% notes hit and the trophy.

All band members trigger star power simultaneously (4 player band)

You can do this locally or in online quickplay. Start an easy song (for example 'Turn the Page') or a fast song ('Stone Cold Crazy') and make sure everyone is on Beginner. To get Star Power you have to hit every star shaped note in a sequence. On vocals, you'll get Star Power by getting Excellent phrase ratings.

Once everyone has Star Power available activate it at the same time. With guitar and bass tilt your guitar upwards or press the :select: button on the guitar. For drums hit both yellow and orange cymbal at the same time. For Mic, tap the head of the mic with your hand or press :cross: on the controller.

Earn a band Hot Streak (4 player band)

You can do this locally or in online quickplay. To get this trophy each band member has to get a 50 note streak together. That means hitting 50 notes in a row without missing one or overstrumming. Pick an easy song (for example 'Turn the Page') and make sure everyone is on Beginner. You can do this with 3 players by having the Mic on Beginner and placing it next to a fan or speakers. Then make sure everyone gets a 50 note streak at the same time.

You can do this locally or in online quickplay. For this, every player has to hit every note in a song without missing any. You can over strum but not miss any notes.

You can do this with 3 players by placing your mic next to a fan or speakers. Make sure every instrument is on Beginner. Then complete an easy song like 'Turn the Page' or a fast song like 'Stone Cold Crazy' and make sure everyone hits every note. It might take a couple of tries but if everyone focuses well, you should be able to get the trophy.

Complete a song with all band members on expert in Quickplay or Career (4 player band)

For this trophy you have to complete a song with a 4 player band and each instrument on Expert. You can do this locally or in online quickplay.

You can do this with 3 players if you pick a song that has only spoken sections for vocals such as 'Blood and Thunder' or 'War Ensemble' and place the mic next to speakers or a fan. However, I'd recommend doing it with 4 players and by playing an easier song. The easiest songs for this trophy are for example 'Turn the Page' or 'Tuesday's Gone'.

Complete a song on Expert + in Quickplay or Career (drums only)

For this trophy you have to complete a song on Expert+ with drums. Expert+ means the song has fast kick notes requiring you to use two kick pedals to hit them so fast.

However, you don't need to have two kick pedals to play a song on Expert+ or get the trophy. You can do it with just one. Make sure the song has a skull with drum sticks as bones next to it so you know it has an Expert+ track.

The easiest song on Expert+ if you have two kick pedals is 'Orion'. The end of the song has fast kick notes but if you play it like you would on Expert playing only every other kick note, you'll pass the part if you have only one pedal. If you're having trouble save star power for the part and activate it when you're about to fail.

The easiest song if you only have one kick pedal is 'Wherever I May Roam'. The song only has some short double kick sections near the end of the song and you won't fail from them if you play the like you would on Expert, playing every other kick note.

Earn the highest individual score on a song in a band (4 player band)

You can do this locally or in online quickplay. Make sure you are the band leader and the other band members fail so you can score the highest.

You can do this alone by connecting all four instruments, playing one instrument and setting the rest of the instruments on Beginner and leaving them there without playing any notes. You should pick a fast song like 'Stone Cold Crazy' for this.

Recover from a poor performance in Quickplay or Career

When the song starts, don't play any notes and strum rapidly so your rock meter goes to red. Then just complete the song normally to get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/101/031.jpgGreen Hell (S)(H)

Drum every green note and finish the song Blood and Thunder with the rock meter in green

You have to play the song 'Blood and Thunder' on drums, make sure to every green note and finish the song with the rock meter in green.

You can do this in any difficulty setting except Beginner because it has no green notes. Doing this in Easy is easiest. Focus on hitting all the green notes when they come and make sure not to start failing near the end so your rock meter is in green when you finish the song. Star power is a good method to boost your rock meter quickly if you're having trouble.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/101/044.jpgCreeping Death (S)(H)

Score 575,000 on the song Creeping Death as the guitarist

You can only do this on Expert. To get the trophy you have to play the song nearly perfectly and activate star power at the correct spots.

To get 5 stars you need about 352,000 points so you'll have to streak almost the whole song. The song is hard on Expert but the trophy isn't impossible. They key is to practice the riff that plays during the verses until you can streak it every time. You should alt-strum it and practice so you can do the switch between the green fret and red and yellow fret with your fingers. The key getting close to the score is to activate star power during these riffs to get maximum score.

Make sure you can do the solo pretty well and that you can get all star phases during the song. Practicing the song a lot in practice mode will help. Once you think you can play the song nearly perfectly, you can try the star power path.

The star power path for this song is 2-2-2(+1)-1(+1)-2-1-2(+1)-1-1(+1); 1st green, 1st green, 1st green of the next star phase, 23rd green (beginning of the solo), 1st yellow (practice tapping), 1st green, 19th RY, 1st green, 4th orange.

For more information on how to read the path, check the star power path guide here or watch the video to see when to activate.

Below is a video showing how to get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/101/045.jpgDyer's Eve(S)(H)

Score 450,000 on the song Dyer's Eve as the drummer

You can do this on Medium, Hard or Expert. For Medium you need to make a near perfect run and activate star power at the best spots.

If you attempt it on Medium you have to hit every star phase and get near a full combo. Make sure to check the path below to make the trophy easier.

The song is very fast and hard on Hard and Expert. On Hard you have to get about 5 stars to reach the score and on Expert you have to score about 4 stars. If you're attempting the trophy on them you should activate star power in the sections where you can get and keep a 4x multiplier.

The star power path on Medium is 3-3-2-2; 4th Kick-orange note, 1st Kick-orange note, 4th Kick-orange note, 1st Kick-orange note.

For more information on how to read the path, check the star power path guide here or watch the video to see when to activate.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/101/046.jpgFight Fire with Fire (S)(H)

Score 340,000 on the song Fight Fire with Fire as the bassist

You can only do this on Expert. To reach to score, you need to be able to streak certain sections of the song and activate star power at the best spots.

To get 5 stars you need about 268,000 points so you'll have to perform better than just get 5 stars. The song is very hard to play and tires your hand very easily unless you know the correct strategy to play.

The verse riff has open notes and some random other notes in between. I usually strum everything rather than do the hopo on the random note to stay better in the rhythm. For the pre-chorus riff, it might look like crazy rain of notes but it's possible to streak if you practice it. First thing you need is to enable Hyperspeed for it so you can actually see which notes to play during it. Play it in practice mode on slower speeds and keep going up in speed until you can streak in at full speed. I usually strum everything in the riff too so I won't mess up my rhythm. The chorus has very rapid strumming of a 3-note chord. This is the key to getting the score needed. If you can get 4x multiplier and activate star power on that part, you'll boost your score well. The part during the guitar solo can tire your hand easily but rather than strumming it like it's charted, strum the two fast sets of two notes like they would be four notes in a normal rhythm. It still counts.

The key is to practice the song in Practice mode and then activate star power at the correct spots.

The star power path for this song is 1-3-2-2-2-2; 4th yellow, 22nd open note (1st open note before the 1st YBO chord), 1st YBO chord, 90th open note (activate at least 5 notes before the set of yellow notes, watch video), 1st YBO, 1st red.

For more information on how to read the path, check the star power path guide here or watch the video to see when to activate.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/101/047.jpgStone Cold Crazy (S)(H)

Score 65,000 on the song Stone Cold Crazy as the vocalist

You can do this on Medium, Hard or Expert. If you do this on Medium, you'll have to abuse the Freeforms and use star power before they end to get a huge score boost. The freeform trick works for all difficulties so you can do it on Hard or Expert too. They key for it is to have a 4x multiplier when the freeform comes, then sing a note until the game raises your multiplier and then sing a different note etc. At the end of the freeform you should activate star power to boost your score even higher. This guide explains using the freeforms better.

You have to be able to sing decently if you want to get the trophy by yourself. However, you don't have to be that good singer since you can do it on Medium. Make sure to practice the song so you can always get a 4x multiplier and star power for the freeforms.

The following video shows the freeform technique and the song. You can also put your mic next to your speakers and sync the video with the game to get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/101/048.jpgEnter Sandman (S)(H)

Score 330,000 on the song Enter Sandman on guitar

For this trophy you have to score 330,000 on Enter Sandman on guitar. This is possible on Hard and Expert but on Hard you have full combo the song and activate star power optimally with squeezing so it's a lot easier on Expert.

To get 5 stars on the song on Expert, you need to score about 224,000 points so you'll have to perform nearly perfectly to do this. You should make sure you know the song and can hit every star phase in it and use whammy for all held notes to get more star power. You should make sure you can play the song perfectly outside the solo to make getting the trophy a lot easier. Practice all the sections until you know how to play them perfectly.

After you know how to play the song well, you should know when to use star power. The following page shows you the best way to use the star power. Green notes are star phases and the blue notes are where you should activate your star power.

The star power path is 2-2-2-2-2; 4th GR chord, 2nd YB chord, 1st YB chord, 1st green, 1st green.

For more information on how to read the path, check the star power path guide here or watch the video to see when to activate.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/101/049.jpgBattery(S)(H)

Score 1,000,000 on the song Battery as a band (4 players)

You can do this locally or in online quickplay. If everyone can 5 star the song on Expert, you'll get the trophy pretty easily, but the trophy is possible on lower difficulty settings too. Make sure most of the band members are on Expert though.

Guitar for this song is hard on Expert. Make sure you have a good guitarist who can streak most of the song or do guitar on Hard.

Drums for this song are pretty fast and hard. If you have a good drummer you can try Expert or even Expert+ but doing it on Hard or Medium is fine too.

Bass is not very hard. You should do it on Expert but if you have a player who is not very good, you can make him play Hard bass.

Vocals are the best source for star power. You can do the song by setting the vocals on Beginner and the mic next to a fan or speakers so it hits every phrase giving the other band members a lot of star power.

Make sure everyone activates star power together and during the parts where you all have a good streak going. Using the fan method for vocals will give you a lot of star power so you should make sure you won't waste it.

If you need to find skilled partners, you can use the boosting thread.

Battle mode replaces star phases with battle phases and if you hit them you'll get a power up you can use against your opponent instead of star power. This is easiest if you boost it with a friend. The players don't attack each other and the person to get the trophy keeps playing until the power up he gets is Fade to Black. Then he uses it and the second player starts to strum rapidly so he fails the song while Fade to Black is still active.

Earn $15,000

You'll earn money by playing songs. You'll get more money by performing better and playing on a higher difficulty setting. After completing all career modes and doing most of the quick play trophies you should have at least $15,000 depending on how well you played. This trophy should come naturally but if you want to grind for it, you can play Expert vocals, pick 'Blood and Thunder' and set the mic next to a fan or speakers to get maximum amount of money each time.

Star power path guide

The guide includes star power paths to tell you when is the best moment to activate the star power you get making the score related trophies easier. The first part of the path has numbers, for example 1-3-2-2(+1). The number means after how many star power phases you should activate star power. The example path means you should activate star power for the first time after you've hit one star phase, 3 means you should activate it for the second time after you've hit three star phases, 2 means for the third time after hitting two star phases and the 2(+1) means your last activation should be after hitting two star phases and while you have star power active, you'll hit one more phase during it. The next part of the guide after the numbers means exactly on what note should you activate the star power. For example the second part for the path could be 1st red, 2nd GR, 11th blue, 5th RYB. This means that after you've hit the number of star phases the first number tells you (in this case 1 as stated earlier) you should activate it on the first red note that comes. The next activation should be on the second green-red chord you hit. The letters represent the colors green, red, yellow, blue and orange. The third would be on the 11th blue note that passes by after hitting the star phases and the last on the 5th red-yellow-blue chord.

You can also watch the videos to see when to activate if you're having trouble undestanding a path. The following link has more detailed information about star power paths:

If you use the Hyperspeed cheat, it'll make it easier to see notes. Using it can help earning the hardest trophies. Check the following link for the cheat codes.

Great guide man I'll use it to finnish my game up and for stone cold crazy does that actually work by putting the mic next to the speaker

I haven't tested it yet but it should. It's not going to be too hard to sing by yourself anyway, since you can do it on Medium. Just practice the freeform technique.
