Challenge Guide

Introduction:

Welcome to Gravity Rush! You play as Kat, a young girl who has control over gravity. Trophy-wise, this game is very straightfoward, with over half of the trophies being dedicated to the story alone. Besides them, there are a few miscellaneous trophies for killing unique enemies, performing feats with a certain attack, talking to people, and - the true challenge of the game - achieving a gold medal on every challenge. None of this is actually particularly difficult though.

None of the trophies are missable, with only one trophy being glitched (All That Glitters, which is easily avoidable), so you can really go through the trophies any which way you please.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the Story

First of all, you'll want to simply focus on completing the story. There are 21 Episodes, which should only take about 7-10 hours to complete. While doing them, feel free to attempt the challenges or find the manhole/mysterious couple locations, but doing this isn't at all necessary at this stage in the game. You'll likely stumble upon some or most of these through natural progression, but these can be completed at any point in time, so it's easiest to leave until last.

While progressing through the game, avoid upgrading Sliding Kick, Spiraling Claw and Micro Black Hole. The reason for this is that you are rarely in a situation where Sliding Kick is preferable over Gravity Kick or even a standard Kick, whilst the two special attacks pale in comparison to Gravity Typhoon, so there's no point in upgrading them.

Upon completing Step 1, you will earn:

(B)

Lost Kat

(B)

Learner's Permit

(B)

From Oblivion

(B)

Shadows Over the City

(B)

Falling to Pieces

(B)

An Unguarded Moment

(G)

No Rest for the Virtuous

Step 2: Get Gold on all Challenges

With the story complete, your skills should all be considerably upgraded, with the possible exception of the skills mentioned in Step 1. Having upgraded skills will make getting gold on all 20 challenges significantly easier. For help on any specific challenge, please see the Challenge Guide.

Upon completing Step 2, you will earn:

(B)

New Challenger

(B)

True Challenger

(B)

Gold Medalist

(S)

Silver Lining

(G)

All That Glitters

(G)

Top Cat

Step 3: Reach 40,000 Gems/Clean Up

By now, you should have almost every trophy, if not all. Chances are if you're missing any, it would be one of the miscellaneous trophies or, more likely, (G) Gem Aficionado. Please see the respective trophies if you are still missing them.

Upon completing Step 3, you will earn:

(S)

Ancient Game Hunter

(S)

Burning Game Hunter

(S)

Illusory Game Hunter

Combat Trophies:

25.jpg  Ancient Game Hunter (S)

Defeated the rare Nevi in Rift Planes: The Ruins.

You'll first enter the Rift Planes: The Ruins in Episode 6 - however, it isn't recommended you fight the Nevi until you are stronger, as you likely won't be able to defeat it at this stage. In order to reach the rare Nevi, head to the third flower before dropping off the side of the tower. Drop all the way down until you see a hole heading into the tower from below - fly into this chamber to find the Nevi.

Once you're strong enough to face it, head into its chamber and immediately dash in close using Spiraling Claw (:triangle:), which you should receive in the Rift Planes: The Ruins. Once you're up close and personal, the Nevi will be unable to fire its missiles, so just keep kicking it while evading its occasional swipes. Use the health gems if need be, and if you run out and need more, retreat from the area to get more elsewhere - an infinitely respawning health gem can be located next to the 5th flower after it has been opened. A high Kick level and high Evade level are key to this battle. Don't bother using special attacks to hurt it, as it is immune to special attacks.

26.jpg  Burning Game Hunter (S)

Defeated the rare Nevi in Rift Planes: The Inferno.

You'll first enter the Rift Planes: The Inferno in Episode 8 - however, it isn't recommended you fight the Nevi until you are stronger, as you likely won't be able to defeat it at this stage. In order to reach the rare Nevi, head to the second flower. Once there, fly underneath and you'll see a bridge-like structure heading into the wall - head in here to find it.

This Nevi is a big brute with several weak points on its back, as well as one on its head. The best strategy for this battle is to stick to the walls of the area and to remain behind him so he can't punch you. Use your Gravity Kick (:square: while flying) to hit his weak points, before retreating to the wall. Just keep divebombing his weak points one at a time, retreating before he has a chance to punch you. If you need health, the health gem by the second flower restocks infinitely once opened. A high Gravity Kick level is key to this battle. Don't bother using special attacks to hurt it, as it is immune to special attacks.

27.jpg  Illusory Game Hunter (S)

Defeated the rare Nevi in Rift Planes: The Mirage.

You'll first enter the Rift Planes: The Mirage in Episode 10 - however, it isn't recommended you fight the Nevi until you are stronger, as you likely won't be able to defeat it at this stage. Also, due to Dusty being weakened, you'll barely even have enough energy to fly to the Nevi when you first come here, let alone fight it. In order to reach the rare Nevi, head to the third flower and look out into the distance, where you'll see a red, planet-like orb being suspended:

7g1aqvx.jpg

Fly over to it and the Nevi will spawn.

Once you reach it, try get close to it while dodging the red orbs it fires at you. It will cease firing momentarily between barrages, which is the only opportunity you have to attack safely. Use your Gravity Kick (:square: while flying) to kick the eyes on its back, then keep dodging when it starts firing red orbs again. If you run low on health or need more energy, retreat to stock up - the health gem by the first flower will restock infinitely after opening the flower (thanks to dave87fez for this information) - then head back into the fight. It doesn't heal at all, so take your time. Don't bother using special attacks to hurt it, as it is immune to special attacks.

28.jpg  Frequent Flyer (S)

Landed 10 gravity kicks without landing or taking damage.

This is especially easy to do in any of the battle challenges, such as Auldnoir Time Attack or Endestria Time Attack. Auldnoir and Pleajeune Time Attacks have less enemies at a time, so you may find it hard to find enemies, however there are no airborne or ranged enemies early on. Endestria Time Attack has heaps of enemies and is almost entirely airborne, but given most of the enemies are ranged, you can get hit easily if you're not careful, which will force you to start from 0 again. Start one of the battle challenges, then immediately fly into the air. Start Gravity Kicking the enemies, making sure that you never touch the ground or get hit by enemies. You are allowed to fly around between Gravity Kicks, you just cannot touch the ground or get hit. You can easily get 10 before your energy runs out, though it will be significantly easier if your Gravity Kick and/or your Gauge Usage are at a higher level.

29.jpg  Pitching Machine (S)

Hurled 10 objects into enemies without missing or taking damage.

The best place to do this is during one of the Auldnoir challenges, Auldnoir Throwing Challenge. This challenge tasks you with throwing objects at enemies, so it is a perfect scenario. As soon as it starts, grab a few objects with :circle:, then fly up away from the enemies. From about 20 yards away, the enemy won't react to you, but you'll be able to throw objects at them in complete safety. Repeat until you hit 10 without missing or taking damage and the trophy will pop. Obviously, a high Stasis Field level is extremely beneficial when attempting this.

30.jpg  Gravitational Anomaly (S)

Defeated 8 enemies with one special attack.

This can be a little difficult, but can be done without too much hassle during the Pleajeune Time Attack Challenge. Upgrade your Gravity Typhoon to at least level 4, then start the challenge. As soon as the challenge starts, leap into the air and use Gravity Typhoon with  + :triangle:. There are 8 enemies in this opening courtyard, so if you're lucky, you'll kill all 8. If you fail, then keep playing the challenge until you return to the courtyard and try again. Returning to the courtyard will allow up to a dozen enemies to be in the vicinity, thus making killing 8 significantly easier.

32.jpg  True Challenger (B)

Cleared EVERY challenge.

Complete all 20 challenges with any score.

See (G) All That Glitters for more details.

33.jpg  Gold Medalist (B)

Gold-medaled a challenge.

See (G) All That Glitters for more details.

34.jpg  Silver Lining (S)

Earned a silver or better in every challenge.

See (G) All That Glitters for more details.

35.jpg  All That Glitters (G)

Gold-medaled EVERY challenge.

Glitch Warning: There have been reports of this trophy glitching on the player if your final gold medal is on either of the Boutoume challenges. In this cases, there has been no fix other than to restart. Due to this, it is highly recommended you do not leave the Boutoume challenges to last.

There are a total of 20 challenges scattered throughout the game. In order to unlock a challenge mission, you must first locate and fix a landmark by depositing gems into the furnace of the landmark. The landmark, and subsequently the initial challenge, will be indicated by a green bolt. Once the challenge has been completed once, it will be indicated by a yellow bolt. It is recommended you attempt getting gold on all challenges after completing the game, as you will have upgraded Kat significantly, which will make completing challenges considerably easier.

For a guide on how to earn a gold medal on every challenge, please see my Challenge Guide.

Miscellaneous Trophies:

36.jpg  Going Underground (S)

Discovered every manhole.

Manholes are Gravity Rush's method of fast travel. There are a total of 13 manholes, 3 in the first three districts and 4 in Vendecentre. You'll likely stumble upon most of these through natural progression.

If you need help finding any, please see my Manhole/Mysterious Couple Location Guide.

37.jpg  Lost in Time and Space (S)

Heard the mysterious couple’s complete story.

The mysterious couple are a couple who find themselves trapped between the fabrics of reality. In every area of the game, including the three Rift Planes, you'll find both the male and female. You must talk to them in every area in order to hear their story.

If you need help finding them in any area, please see my Manhole/Mysterious Couple Location Guide.

38.jpg  Gem Collector (S)

Collected a total of 20,000 precious gems.

You'll easily attain this through natural progression, I earned it during Episode 16.

See (G) Gem Aficionado for more details.

39.jpg  Gem Aficionado (G)

Collected a total of 40,000 precious gems.

This is cumulative, so you're not required to have 40,000 precious gems on you at one time. By the time you've completed the game, killed the three rare Nevi and achieved a gold medal on every challenge, you'll likely be sitting somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000 total precious gems, depending on how many you've picked up through searching. I actually hit 40,000 before even completing all the challenges, due to exploring a lot and picking up many gems. If however you don't have 40,000 after everything, you'll want to pick up the biggest gems worth 25, which look like this:

VoYLPUn.jpg

Boutoume has an abundance of these mega gems, so travel here and start collecting them. From 30,000, it shouldn't take any more than an hour of gem collecting to hit 40,000.

40.jpg  Top Cat (G)

Raised Kat’s reputation to "Top Cat."

As you complete Story Missions and Challenges, your reputation amongst the people will begin to rise, allowing you to upgrade your abilities further. In order to reach "Top Cat", you must complete all 21 Story Missions and 20 Challenges, so you'll easily get this by completing the game and going for gold on all Challenges.

Challenge Guide:

In order to get the platinum, you're going to have to get a gold medal on all 20 Challenge Missions. These challenges mostly involve killing enemies to reach a certain score threshold, or racing against the clock. At first, many challenges will prove difficult, but with high level skills, they will become considerably easier. Everything from here onward will be written as if the respective skills are at Level 4 or higher. Below, I've written some general tips for each type of Challenge Mission, as well as the respective controls for each type in case you forget:

Time Attack:
These challenges require you to defeat Nevi by any means necessary to gain score and increase the clock. The skills that are absolutely recommended are a high level
Gravity Kick
, a high level
Gauge Usage
and a high level
Gravity Typhoon
. 90% of your attacks should be done using
Gravity Kick
, due to its immense power, whereas having a high level
Gauge Usage
means you can launch more
Gravity Kicks
before you have to regenerate your energy. Lastly, there's
Gravity Typhoon
, which will be where the other 10% of your attacks lie. This is a special ability that is fantastic for big brutes with multiple weakspots, or big packs of Nevi.

  • Gravity Kick
    :

    :square:
    while flying.

  • Gravity Typhoon
    :

    +
    :triangle:
    with Special Charge at full.

Free Race:
These challenges are simple checkpoint races that give you free reign over all your gravity abilities. For these, there are three skills that are paramount:
Gravity Slide
, for moving quickly between ground checkpoints;
Shifting Speed
, for quickly flying between airborne checkpoints; and
Gravity Kick
, for quickly flying between airborne checkpoints at short distances.
Gauge Usage
is also very helpful, but not paramount. The higher the level for
Gravity Slide
and
Shifting Speed
, the faster you'll move while performing the action, thus having high levels for them is extremely beneficial for achieving gold times. Whenever you fly between checkpoints,
always
do so by holding

:cross:

for
Shifting Speed
as opposed to simply pressing

:vitar:

to fly normally, as
Shifting Speed
is much faster than normal flying. A quick note about
Gravity Slide
: controlling it is incredibly difficult, so only use it for straight dashes or wide/easy corners. If you need to change direction on a tighter corner, stop sliding and adjust the camera manually, before sliding again. Another tip is that when flying towards a checkpoint, if it's below you, make use of the
Gravity Cancel
with

:vital:

to drop directly onto the checkpoint.

  • Gravity Slide
    :
Hold the touchscreen in the bottom left and right corners. Tilt the Vita left or right to turn in the respective direction.

  • Shifting Speed
    :
    Hold
    :cross:
    while flying.

  • Gravity Kick
    :

    :square:
    while flying.

Sliding Race:
Similar to
Free Race
, however these task you to race between checkpoints with only your
Gravity Slide
ability. Because of this, you'll obviously want a high
Gravity Slide
level, preferrably 5 or 6, but these missions are still easily doable with a level 3 or 4. One thing to note about
Gravity Slide
is that the turning (by tilting the Vita left or right) can be very tempermental, in that if you're not holding the Vita directly in front of you and/or the Vita isn't perpendicular to the floor, then Kat won't turn properly when you tilt the Vita. Similarly, the turning is only really recommended for wide or open corners - trying to turn on sharp or tight corners will end up costing you time. In these circumstances, it is far more beneficial to simply stop sliding, adjust the camera angle, then continue sliding.

  • Gravity Slide
    :
Hold the touchscreen in the bottom left and right corners. Tilt the Vita left or right to turn in the respective direction.

Energy Race:
These are essentially
Free Races
, except you begin the race with no energy, and the races are littered with Energy Gems. Use the same skills as you would in any
Free Race
, but also have your
Gauge Usage
at a high level, so that you can stock up on enough energy to last the race.

Airboat Race:
There is actually only one
Airboat Race
, which is basically a
Free Race
that sends you along moving airboats, thus making it somewhat harder. You'll only be using one skill here,
Shifting Speed
. Every action you perform should be speed shifting through the sky at high speeds, so as high a level for this skill as you can afford is recommended.

  • Shifting Speed
    :
    Hold
    :cross:
    while flying.

Stasis Field Challenges:
These are quite unique. There are three
Stasis Field Challenges
that all require you to do something slightly different, all with the same premise of picking objects up with
Stasis Field
. For these, it is highly recommended you have
at
least
level 5
Stasis Field
, as at level 5, you can pick up 3 objects at once. At level 6 however, you can pick up 4 items simultaneously, which makes these missions pretty basic.

  • Stasis Field
    :
    Hold
    :circle:
to pick up objects. Level 3 for 2 objects, level 5 for 3 objects and level 6 for 4 objects. Press
    :circle:
again to fire the objects one at a time.

Now that you have the general gist of what's required for each type, it's time to get into the detail of each challenge and how best to get the gold medal for them.

Auldnoir

Auldnoir Time Attack

Location:
Auldnoir's Fountain, 7 Gems

Gold Score:
1,200

Walkthrough:
This might be a little difficult at first, but once you've upgraded your
Gravity Kick
and
Gauge Usage
a few times, you'll breeze through it. Keep using your
Gravity Kick
against every enemy, saving your special ability for either the group of 7 Nevi, or the 2 large Nevi you fight soon after the pack of 7.

Auldnoir Free Race

Location:
Auldnoir's Drawbridge, 10 Gems

Gold Score:
00'46"00

Walkthrough:
This race has 12 checkpoints. Use your
Gravity Slide
to dash towards the first three checkpoints, stopping to adjust if the corners are too tight to turn while sliding. Then, using
Shifting Speed
, fly towards 4 and 5, but make sure when you fly to 5 that you avoid the lightpost, as you can easily crash into it and waste time.
Gravity Slide
to 6, fly to 7 and 8, then
Gravity Slide
to 9. As soon as you hit 9,
Gravity Kick
over to 10 and immediately drop to the ground with

:vital:

and backtrack to 11, before quickly dashing to 12.

Auldnoir Throwing Challenge

Location:
Auldnoir's Factory, 10 Gems

Gold Score:
1,500

Walkthrough:
This one can be especially tricky if you don't kill the enemies in the right order. Getting gold here is all about taking out the Time Extend enemies first, then the rest. The two notable Time Extend enemies are the flying Nevi in the 3rd spawn, and the large, dog-like Nevi in the 4th spawn.

Stasis some items before flying slightly above the enemies so that they can't hit you, then throw them at the enemies and repeat. Doing this with a high level
Stasis Field
will allow you to get gold within a few tries. The biggest tip I have to offer is that during the second circuit of enemy spawns, when you get to the big, dog-like Nevi,
kill it before you kill the two flying Nevi
. This is because you will likely be low on time at this stage, probably not enough to kill the two flying Nevi and the big Nevi. Killing the big Nevi will give you a time bonus, then killing the two flying Nevi will get you enough points for the gold, assuming you've killed every enemy up to now.

Auldnoir Energy Race

Location:
Auldnoir's Lift

(I)

, 10 Gems

Gold Score:
00'50"00

Walkthrough:
As soon as the challenge starts, run to the energy gem in front of you and then
Gravity Slide
to the first checkpoint. Immediately jump over the rail to hit Checkpoint 2, then jump down again and slide towards Checkpoint 3. Continue sliding to Checkpoint 4, then fly using
Shifting Speed
to 5 and 6. Slide to 7 and 8, then quickly fly over to the final Checkpoint.

Auldnoir Sliding Race

Location:
Auldnoir's Lift (II), 20 Gems

Gold Score:
01'00"00

Walkthrough:
For this, a high
Gravity Slide
level (5 or 6) is highly recommended. As soon as it starts, centre the camera with the first checkpoint and slide towards it, then tilt the Vita to turn towards Checkpoints 2 and 3. Continue sliding and turning where possible, but if an angle is too sharp to turn, simply stop moving, adjust the angle and start sliding again. Between checkpoints 11, 12 and 13, try and get a perfect raceline so you can slide straight through 11 to 12 to 13 without having to stop and adjust, as this will certainly save precious time.

Pleajeune

Pleajeune Taxi Trial

Location:
Pleajeune's Underground Shutter, 20 Gems

Gold Score:
500

Walkthrough:
Having a high level
Stasis Field
is absolutely vital, as it will allow you to pick up at least two civilians at once. Level 5
Stasis Field
is recommended however, as that will allow you to pick up three civilians at once, as opposed to just two. As soon as it begins, pick up the two in front of you, then press
:vital:
to drop and then walk them to the destination. Repeat this for the two packs of two that now spawn. With that done, two more packs will spawn - a pack of two and a pack of three. Fly to the pack of two, pick them up and fly back to the destination, then fly to the pack of three and hold
:circle:
to pick them all up.

By now, you should have 250 points. Head to the large group down on Main Street and wait for the female to walk near one of the stationary men, then pick them both up when they're close. Deposit them both at the destination, then return to pick up any one civilian and return them. You should now have 400 points, with a few more packs of civilians spawning. Quickly fly to where the pack of three were earlier and you'll see two civilians standing next to each other, pick them up and return to base to hit 500 points.

Pleajeune Sliding Race

Location:
Pleajeune's Arquebus Fountain, 20 Gems

Gold Score:
00'50"00

Walkthrough:
For this, a high
Gravity Slide
level (5 or 6) is highly recommended. There really isn't a great deal to say about this challenge, as there's only one method - slide, slide, slide. For the most part, the corners will be wide enough for you to turn while sliding, however the right-angle turns will require you to stop and adjust the angle. Very easy to get gold on.

Pleajeune Time Attack

Location:
Pleajeune's Main Street, 20 Gems

Gold Score:
1,800

Walkthrough:
This is one of the harder time attacks. As soon as the challenge starts, jump into the air and use your
Gravity Typhoon
special ability, which at level 4 or higher can easily clear out the first group. Once the first set are done, start Gravity Kicking the Nevi up the stairs and repeat on the enemies in the top courtyard. By the time you've done a full loop, your special ability should be charged, so fire another
Gravity Typhoon
on the pack in the first courtyard again and repeat ad nauseam.

Pleajeune Energy Race

Location:
Pleajeune's Ferris Wheel, 20 Gems

Gold Score:
00'58"00

Walkthrough:
Run towards Checkpoint 1, picking up the energy gem on the way, then fly up to Checkpoint 2. Dash up the stairs to grab the energy gem at the end, then jump and fly towards Checkpoint 3. Drop off the ledge to hit 4, then fly up onto the building wall for 5.
Gravity Slide
up the wall and quickly
Gravity Cancel
with
:vital:
to land atop the roof next to Checkpoint 6. Launch yourself and fly towards 7, then quickly drop onto 8 before Gravity Sliding towards the end.

Endestria

Endestria Free Race I

Location:
Endestria's Smokestacks, 30 Gems

Gold Score:
00'48"00

Walkthrough:
As soon as it starts,
Gravity Slide
through Checkpoints 1 and 2, then jump over the edge and fall to 3. Quickly run to 4, then fly to the roof for 5. From here on, make sure never to press
:vital:
, as you'll simply fall and likely fail.
Gravity Slide
off the edge towards 6, adjust the camera, then head through 7 and 8. Slide towards 9, fly to 10, then
Gravity Slide
to the end.

Endestria Free Race II

Location:
Endestria's Stormshield Turret, 30 Gems

Gold Score:
00'50"00

Walkthrough:
Nothing new here really.
Gravity Slide
to the first Checkpoint, then immediately fly to the second. Continue flying until you hit 6, then
Gravity Slide
to 7 and 8, then fly to 9, 10 and 11. Very simple.

Endestria Energy Race

Location:
Endestria's Warning Beacon, 40 Gems

Gold Score:
01'00"00

Walkthrough:
There really isn't much to say about this challenge, as it is incredibly easy. Drop towards the first Checkpoint, then fly from Checkpoint to Checkpoint. They're all easy to reach with nothing really hindering you. I got this on my first attempt.

Endestria Time Attack

Location:
Endestria's Fueling Dock, 40 Gems

Gold Score:
6,000

Walkthrough:
This is very easy to get gold on. Most enemies here are airborne, so simply stay in the air and keep divebombing your enemies with
Gravity Kick
. Save your special ability for the big brutes that appear on the smokestacks with 5-6 weakpoints, as they can be annoying to fight with
Gravity Kicks
. With a decently upgraded
Gravity Kick
and a moderate amount of health, reaching 6,000 points is very easy.

Vendecentre

Vendecentre Sliding Race

Location:
Vendecentre's Train Station, 60 Gems

Gold Score:
00'55"00

Walkthrough:
For this, a high
Gravity Slide
level (5 or 6) is highly recommended. This is another incredibly easy challenge, with a high
Gravity Slide
level and utilising the slide turning properly, you should be able to get gold with ease. Just slide from checkpoint to checkpoint, only stopping to adjust at hard corners.

Vendecentre Airboat Race

Location:
Vendecentre's Dock Generator, 60 Gems

Gold Score:
01'30"00

Walkthrough:
Probably the hardest race. Given the Checkpoints are, for the most part, on moving airboats, you'll have to be very accurate and very fast in order to hit them. Very high level
Shifting Speed
is paramount, as this will allow you to drop towards the moving airboats rapidly, so you can hit the Checkpoints before the airboats turn or move out of your beeline.

From Checkpoint to Checkpoint, there really isn't a great deal to say, other than to
Speed Shift
towards it immediately, then reorient yourself as you'll likely be upside down or in a crazy position after hitting a checkpoint, making the next one hard to locate.

Vendecentre Free Race

Location:
Vendecentre's Train System, 60 Gems

Gold Score:
01'22"00

Walkthrough:
One of the easiest
Free Races
in the game, which is a shame given it is the last one. As soon as the game starts, line up with the first Checkpoint before Gravity Sliding towards it. Keep sliding through to Checkpoint 3, turning where necessary, then jump by shaking the Vita as soon as you hit Checkpoint 3 to avoid falling into the abyss. Once you land, continue sliding to 4 and 5, then run to 6, as if you slide, you'll likely go over the edge.
Gravity Slide
to 7, then slide on through to 8, 9 and 10. These are all very open, so you shouldn't have to stop to adjust at all. Once you hit 10, dash across the bridge to 11, then fly towards and through 12, 13 and 14.

Vendecentre Sweeper Trial

Location:
Vendecentre's Video Displays, 60 Gems

Gold Score:
6,000

Walkthrough:
This is one of the difficult challenges in the game, though is made considerably easier with max level
Stasis Field.
A
Stasis Field
level of at least 5 is a necessity, however
Stasis Field
level 6 is highly recommended. With level 6, you will be able to pick up four objects at once by holding
:circle:
, which will allow you to transfer more items at once, thus allowing you to score faster.

When you start the round, immediately turn around and fly back to the granite blocks near the stall. Grab 3, then fly up and throw them to the destination. Return to where you picked them up and pick up the 2 granite blocks nearby, then send them flying. Return again to pick up the vases and the air duct. Once you send them back to the destination, fly up to the rooftop of the skyscrapers. Three of these will have water tanks on top of them which are worth massive points, so grab them and throw 'em down to the destination. Head into the alley between two of the aforementioned skyscrapers and you'll see a group of crate stacks. Head into the centre on them and pick up four of them, then send them packing. Lastly, head behind the train station staircase to find three air ducts, which should push you above the requirement of 6,000.

I did this with level 6
Stasis Field
and ended up with a score of 6,900, even after breaking several of the high-value objects. If need be, you can have a few trial runs to locate where the high-value objects are.

Vendecentre Time Attack

Location:
Vendecentre's Ropeway, 60 Gems

Gold Score:
3,000

Walkthrough:
This is unbelievably easy, as practically every second enemy grants Time Extend. When I got gold, I ended up with over 7,000 points, well over double the gold requirement. Simply go through the enemies, Gravity Kicking everyone except the landshark Nevi, and using your special ability on the Nevi immediately after the train tracks. You'll hit 3,000 after a single loop.

Boutoume

Boutoume Energy Race

Location:
Boutoume's Lights, 50 Gems

Gold Score:
01'05"00

Walkthrough:
Grab the energy gem in front of you, then
Gravity Slide
through the first two Checkpoints before sliding through the lower area to the third Checkpoint. Adjust your angle, then slide to 4. After 4, fly to 5, 6 and 7. Slide to 8, then fly to 9 and 10 before dropping to 11, then fly to the finish.

Boutoume Time Attack

Location:
Boutoume's Lift, 50 Gems

Gold Score:
4,200

Walkthrough:
For this, it's standard fare with your
Gravity Kick
. Use it on all the enemies as usual, and save your special ability for the flying, dragon-like Nevi at the very end. When you use it on this Nevi however, make sure it isn't attacking you, as if you get hit while casting it, you'll lose it. Two circuits of spawns will get you the required points and the gold medal.

I actually just got the game from PS+ and this guide will be very helpful thanks a bunch. Would you recommend doing the challenges before or after upgrades?

After upgrades, definitely. Having the important skills at level 4+ makes them significantly easier. The gems you'll likely pick up through natural progression will be enough by the time you finish the story.

I hate Challenges like these lol I avoided those moves the whole game... I guess practice, practice, practice lol

Thanks :)

I never used them either, the whole story I almost literally just used Gravity Kick :p Though with a few attempts, you'll learn how to use the skills properly.

If i complete the game and missed a trophy or manhole or whatever is there such a thing as chapter/episode select, or is there a point where i should stop and go collect anything i might have missed... Like go collect everything before episode 21. What im asking is, is there a point of no return.

Nope, you can continue playing after Episode 21. Nothing can be missed.

I don't know if it's a problem my end but some of the images on you'r locations guide arn't showing up, thought i'd point it out just incase. Great guide by the way, it's going to be a big help.

All is going fine on my end, chances are they were just taking a while to load. And thank you, I hope it is of good use to you :)

Hey all,

Something I discovered when playing against the (horribly difficult, in my opinion) Rare Nevi in Rift Plains: Mirage. (Sorry if this is common knowledge or if someone has already posted this; I don't mean to steal your credit).

If you run low on health while fighting the Rare Nevi (as I frequently did) you can head back to the very first flower, in the glow of which is a green health gem, which respawns after a couple of seconds (which is something the rest don't do, unless I'm very much mistaken).

This makes killing that mother a lot easier!

P.S Fantastic guide, especially helpful for the challenges and rare Nevi.

Just keep playing. You can go back anywhere at the end of the game. Its basically a free roam/mop up mode where you can do whatever you want, where ever you want.
