Estimated Difficulty: 6/10

Estimated Time to Platinum:15-20 hours

Offline Trophies: 36 (20 (B), 10 (S), 5 (G), 1 (P))

Online Trophies: 0

Minimum Number of Playthroughs Required: 1

Do Cheats Affect Trophies?: Yes, the godly possessions will stop trophies from being received. So will costumes.

Do Difficulty Trophies Stack?: The only difficulty trophy is Titan mode, the other would be just beating the game. So yes.

Missable Trophies: 16 ("Mr. Hand", "Ladies Man", "Hit Man", "Rip One!", "Nice Tan", "Obedience School", It's getting hot in here...", "Souled Out", "No Guts, No Glory", "Hitting Your Stride", "Eye Candy", "Feather Plucker", "Are You Horny to Win?", "Maxed Out!", "Priceless", "aMAZEd")

Road Map

Step 1: Complete the game and get the 'aMAZEd' trophy

For those of you not new to the God of War franchise, you may want to start on Titan (hard) mode. Others, however, may want to go for Spartan (easy) mode. This way you don't necessarily have to follow any guide and can easily get through the game.

During this, you won't have to get all of the collectibles considering this is a very easy mode. Worry about perfecting combos, blocking, and countering, they'll be needed for Titan mode.

When you get to the Labyrinth part of the game I'd suggest getting the trophy for not dying/failing so you don't have to worry about it on Titan mode. This section of the game is very hard on Titan so you'd want to do it on the easiest setting because it's still very hard. There are multiple save areas in the Labyrinth, but make sure once you enter the Labyrinth you do not die. For more of a guide to this section, please refer to F8L Fool's guide: How To Unlock "aMAZEd' (Guaranteed).

This is the area to mess around with and I'd also suggest going for the kill trophies such as 'Hit Man', 'Rip One!', 'Nice Tan', 'It's getting hot in here...', 'Obedience School', and 'Souled Out'. If you can, remember to collect some, if not all, of the godly possessions.

Step 2: Complete the game on Titan

This part will probably be the hardest out of all the trophies (side from possibly the 'aMAZEd'). This is where knowing when to do great combos, where/how to evade, and how to counter becomes invaluable. These will save your life throughout the game. This is also where you'll definitely want to get all the gorgon eyes, phoenix feathers, and minotaur horns so you can have as much at your disposal during big boss fights (and even hard regular enemy fights). Getting your Blades of the Exile and then the Namean Cestus maxed out before anything else will be a great idea. These are really the only 2 weapons you'll use.

You can't use any costumes and godly possessions in this if you've gotten any, so don't try. It will cancel trophies.

Step 3: Challenge of Olympus

Once you've beaten the game once, you can do this before you do step 2 but some of you may not. This is for the 'Up to the Challenge' trophy.

Luckily, these challenges are a lot easier than the God of War 1 & 2 challenges so if you've done those you'll do fine here.

Anyone having any trouble with these, please refer to the videos later in the guide and possibly F8L Fool's written guide.

Step 4: Clean Up

Hopefully you won't need this step at all. I'm hoping the majority of people have all the trophies by the end of step 2 since all the trophies are mostly done in the story mode. However, people have been known to not get trophies in the minimum amount of playthroughs (I should know, I had to play Dead Space 4 times and Dante's Inferno 3).

Story-related trophy, can not be missed.
Kill Poseidon

At the beginning of this level, while ascending Mount Olympus via Gaia, you will fight a Leviathan. Little do you know, the Leviathan is part of what Poseidon rides. You will fight the Leviathan a few times with it ending fighting Poseidon.

Poseidon has 3 different stages. The first stage, he'll grip the area around you. Attack his claws on either side, until they are removed. He'll use lightning on the ground or he'll bring the area to either side before he strikes with more claws. When he does either one of these, evade to the opposite side until they are removed.

The second stage he'll start attacking you with his trident and hands. With his trident he'll do a 3 part attack or just a massive attack. The 3 part attack will attack close to him with every other attack going further away. Dodge these by going away and then closer. All of his hand attacks are blockable and then deflect them.

The hands part is more tricky. He'll punch the ground, which can sometimes be difficult to avoid. Avoid it and continue to attack. His other hand attack is he swipes the ground with his forearm. This, in my opinion, is the hardest to dodge. But if you evade at the right time, he won't hurt you.

Continue to attack him until the 3rd stage, which you'll have to get up on the top of Gaia's thumb and perform the QTE. He'll then push Poseidon out of the sea and you'll have to do another QTE to kill him and receive this trophy.
Acquire the Bow of Apollo

While in Hades, you'll come across Pirithous who wants you to help him get out so he can save Persephone. He is behind bramble and will give you the Bow of Apollo as your reward for saving him.

Just solve the mini-puzzle and burn the bramble. Press :circle: to receive the Bow of Apollo on the chair to receive this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/319/001.jpg Mr. Hand (B)

Discover the secret 'Hades Arm' room - This trophy is missable.
While in Hades, you'll come across a puzzle where you must jump onto a platform that rises as soon as you hit a level. The goal here is to get the bramble and put it into the fire below. When you do so, hot air will rise so you can use the Icarus wings to ascend. Don't just yet, rise up on the hot air to the door.

Open this door and proceed into the room with many arms and you'll receive this trophy.
Kill Hades

When you finally use Persephone's casket to break open Hades' statue's belly, you'll start to fight Hades.

Hades is rather simple to understand. His first stage, he'll attack the ground. They're easy to dodge and you can easily get him to the first QTE. When you do, you'll pull off a piece of skin and you must destroy this piece of skin. This is a perfect time to receive extra health from the hands that pop out of the ground.

He'll then use another attack which completely covers the arena except for a certain part. Stand in the middle and then roll to where ever the ground looks clear.

His second stage is similar, but he attacks more and is harder overall. Continue to use the same strategy by evading and attack over and over again. He'll do the same thing with the QTE and skin.

The third stage, he'll be much more aggressive. But same story. He's rather easy. You'll think he's done once you finish the first QTE, but you are wrong. He'll pop up again for a 4th stage without his helmet on. When he does this, swing to the other side and attack. When he's about to attack, evade. Continue this until he dies.

Proceed to beat Hades and you'll receive this trophy.
Kill Helios

When you leave Hades, you'll come across the fight between Helios and one of the Titans in the Olympiad City. Proceed with the story.

Helios isn't really a boss battle. Just more like a quick time event to kill him. You'll rip his head off and receive the Head of Helios and you'll receive this trophy.
Kill Hermes and acquire his Boots

At some point you'll find Hermes egging you on to catch him. You'll go through a series of obstacles to get to him before getting on a boulder catapult and stopping him from running.

Similar to Helios' battle, he's not much of a boss. He'll run around you but he doesn't attack very much. Just continue to land attacks on him and he'll eventually tire and be ready for a QTE that'll include chopping off his legs and you'll receive this trophy.
Kill the Poseidon Princess

After fighting Hermes, you'll come across an area with a girl screaming for help. This is the Poseidon princess. Finish the puzzle, help her, and then use her.

When you're done using her for holding a door up, move off the screen so she is no longer seen and she will be crushed. You will then receive the trophy.
Successfully entertain Aphrodite

After using the Poseidon Princess, you'll come across some bridges you need to get through to. You can't get all the way to the end and must stop at Aphrodite's chamber.

Select "Yes" and not "No", then proceed to please her during the QTEs and you will receive the trophy.

If you fail on your first try, don't fret. You'll come back to this point later and have another shot. You can keep trying until you get it. Also, if you do it the next time you see her you'll get as many orbs you did the first time you saw her.
Kill Hercules

At some point you'll come across Hera talking from above. She'll send out Hercules to fight you. Hercules is rather simple to beat. You'll need to be quick about you since you're fighting a bunch of enemies that constantly respawn while fighting him. This is a good spot to earn "Hit Man" (if you don't get hit ever), "Nice Tan", and "It's getting hot in here...".

Hercules has a few stages as well. The first, as usual, is the easiest. He'll attack you but overall is very slow and doesn't do much. When he finally gets the :circle: over his head, you'll want to run towards the spiked walls to put him on there.

Every subsequent stage, he gets more aggressive and adds another attack onto his combo.

That is, of course, until he finally blinds you and starts talking to Hera. This is where you actually need to be ready for a QTE that's going to be more than just running.

Kill Hercules and receive this trophy.
Open the Gates of Tisiphone

Hephaestus will send you into Tartarus to retreive a stone. You must open the gates first by solving a fairly simple puzzle.

Pull both chains on either side of the door. When you do, the door will open boxes that you can jump on, along with harpies you can grab on to. I always did the left side then the right side. You push in both boxes on either side and then the top needs to be touched to open. When it is touched, the gates will open.

Open these gates and receive the trophy
Kill Cronos

The further you get into the Pits of Tartarus, you'll find Cronos.

Cronos is rather simple, and the battle is very gory. The only part you really need to know is when his eyes are shining, you'll want to use the Head of Helios to blind him. Kill him and receive the trophy.

If you are having any problems trying to kill him, refer to this link of the IGN guide.
Solve Hera's Gardens

You'll come across Hera again, this time complaining about how you are destroying everything. She'll throw her cup away and run off. Pick up the cup (a cutscene will occur since you need it for the green stone, while it also is a Godly Possession).

Solve the garden to receive this trophy.

The only tip needed for this is to use the stairs piece to put water into the cups. The puzzle is rather easy except for figuring out that part (for me at least).
Acquire the Boreas Icestorm

You must fight a giant scorpion-like creature that you have to use the Namean Cestus on to break its legs. Only use :square: attacks for the legs. Once you break one whole side, it'll stop attacking - when it does this attack it's mouth/face until it gets a :circle: over its head. To attack this and the other scorpions surrounding you, just do the :l1: + :square: manuever to keep the other scorpions at bay while you hit the face/mouth. When it gets back up, do the same thing to the other side.

Watch out for its tail slam. When the camera rears back and the tail goes up, roll away from the scorpion. If you get hit you'll take a lot of damage. Its pincher swipe isn't as bad (at least he barely did it to me and I barely got hit with it). The only other thing to watch out for is its tail stab. Same motion as the tail slam, but it'll pinpoint your position and put a glacier there. Don't touch the glacier or you'll get hurt. This, too, does a lot of damage.

Once you defeat this boss, you need to run over, break the scorpion's tip, and pick up the Boreas Icestorm. Pick it up and receive this trophy.

Beat the Labyrinth without dying or failing - This trophy is missable
There are a few save points during this section of the game. So if you die during this, you must restart the game from the save file and not a checkpoint if you wish to get this trophy. You must survive the entire time in the Labyrinth if you want to get this trophy.

My suggestion would be doing this part on easy. Life will be much simpler because of it since this can be truly frustrating. Remember in the spike room to use the spikes to your advantage.

The trophy will pop once you reach the top of the boxes (you'll see Pandora run off towards a save point).
Kill Zeus

Finally fighting Zeus to end the game. You'll have to fight Zeus a few different ways but overall, he's probably one of the longest fights in the game.

During the first stage of the fight, you're fighting him on a walkway meaning no rolling side-to-side but evading back and forth is fine. Here, being able to counter is invaluable since most of his attacks are counterable. To counter simple time the block :l1: at the moment of an attack's impact and then :square: or :triangle: to follow. He will do a punch combo that ends in a pretty devastating clap which can't be blocked, though the punches can easily be blocked then followed up by a counter, so try and block his punches. He also will run at you which you will have to wiggle the :ls: quickly to counter this. At first he jumps up and shoots 2 lightning bolts at you, which can easily be blocked and then followed up by a counter - though soon he will start to shoot 5 or so lightning bolts at you. Once he gets a :circle: above his head and you've finished the QTE, he'll start doing some ground lightning which can be blocked but can't be used for a counter very well.

During the second stage, you'll be back in an arena. His charges are brutal but can be easily evaded. Remember to not be in too long of a combo otherwise you will get hit. He has a punch that can be countered. He also will jump up in the air and slam down to create an area of effect that does some pretty massive damage - the best remedy is to try and evade if possible. He'll also throw lightning bolts at a good rate which all can be countered but can be devastating if not blocked/countered.

The third stage is inside Gaia, the longest and hardest of them all. This time his attacks are very similar to stage 2, however this time whenever he dashes he spawns a clone of himself but it will soon fade away - this can be countered at the right moment so do it every time. He'll also jump into the air and slam the ground more often so your goal at that time is to quickly jump when this happens and you won't get hurt. When Zeus goes for Gaia's heart, he'll heal himself. Remember when Gaia's heart starts to pulsate/glow, and you hear her you can run over before Zeus and steal the HP it gives by :l1: + :circle:. He'll start to add clones to the fight. His clones act like stage 2 Zeus. The clones will stay but can be dealt with rather easily. They can be dispatched rather easy and gave gold/blue orbs upon death. When Zeus is about to go for Gaia's heart again, simply attack him to the point of him stopping (I always use :l1: + :square: ). He will however start to hover and spawn multiple versions of himself. Though when he is only hovering, simply bring him down like a harpy with :l1: + :circle:. When you finally see a blessed :circle: above his head the fight is finally over (except for a QTE).

Apparently there's a good trick to him on the third stage. Equip the Nemesis Whip while fighting Zeus when he's not healing and just constantly use :l1: + :circle: on him. When he spawns clones simply use one or two of the chain lightnings and then continue to attack Zeus with the whip.

Just finish the story by killing him and receive this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/319/003.jpg Vengeance Complete (G)

Beat the game - This can't be missed unless you don't ever beat the game.

Essentially, all you have to do is beat the game and this will be received.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/319/003.jpg Unhuman (G)

Beat Titan Mode - This can't be missed unless you never play Titan (hard) mode.

Beat the game on Titan and this sweet gold trophy is yours.

To make this easier on yourself, play on Spartan (easy) or God (normal) so you know where everything is. Also make use of :l1: to block and counter via the Golden Fleece. also make sure you evade with the :rs:.

My suggestion for upgrades are as follows: Fully upgrade the Blades of Exile, then fully upgrade the Namean Cestus... after that it doesn't matter since those two are really the only ones you'll be using throughout this playthrough.

There is a section near the end of the game on Titan that is just a pain for most people. ilikemonkeys made a video just for us that will help you if you are stuck here too.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwyrE_-JcTo]YouTube - God of War III ? Hitman Trophy ? Guide[/ame]

Essentially it's right after you enter the Pit of Tartarus. You want to go down the walkway a little bit to get as many enemies as possible then run back towards the save point. There's an invisible wall and you want to press :l1: and :circle:, and just keep doing that until you get over 1000 hits.

Remember, do not level the Claws of Hades up past level 2.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7Z3GBDpYPs]YouTube - God of War III - Hit Man Trophy (1000 hit combo)[/ame]

For this, do not upgrade the Claws of Hades at all.

If you're not playing on easy, die a few times and then switch to easy. Remember to have a save containing your real difficulty level at hand so this won't affect anything.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/319/001.jpg Rip One! (B)

Rip apart 1 Olympus Sentry - This trophy is missable.

Olympus Sentries are the most appearing enemy in the game. They are the regular cannon fodder. Grab them with :circle: and then press :triangle: to rip them apart. If you're not ripping them apart with :triangle: then it's the wrong enemy. There are multiple versions of the Olympus Sentry.

When you receive the Head of Helios, simply bring it out and hold :triangle: to charge it up. Enemies that are blinded will show an animation of them being unable to do anything. They're usually lit up with a light when they are blinded too. Simply do this to 100 different enemies, and the trophy is yours.

For a good place to do this trophy, see 'Obedience School'.

For a good place to do this trophy, see 'Obedience School'.

Also another spot found is the Hades' hand room ('Mr. Hand' trophy) that can be used for about 3/4ths of the kills here. Not all of them are able to be killed but you can get a bunch of them here.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/319/001.jpg Obedience School (B)

Deliver 50 kicks to Hounds - This trophy is missable.

Whenever you see the small dogs, just grab them with :circle: and you will kick them. Do this to 50 different enemies until the trophy pops and voila, trophy.

There's a room in Poseidon's chamber that will spawn an infinite amount of dogs to kill. The reason they're infinite is because you want to put them through a portal to drop a metal landing. Simply don't do this and just kick/blind/burn the dogs until you get the trophy corresponding to what you're doing.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/319/001.jpg Souled Out (B)

Summon every Soul with the Claws of Hades - This trophy is missable.

You must max our your Claws of Hades and then spawn every soul it has. To switch souls, go to :start: and then :triangle: to select the soul. When you're out of that menu, simple press :r2: and the soul will be released. Repeat this until you summon all of the souls.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/319/001.jpg Bloody Hell (B)

Cover Kratos in 500 buckets of blood by killing the enemies - If you somehow miss this trophy, I don't know what to say.

You essentially get this by just playing through the game. Every time you kill an enemy, certain amount of blood pops out. Just keep killing enemies and you'll get this. Performing brutal kills helps in the process.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/319/001.jpg No Guts, No Glory (B)

Gut 3 Centaur Generals - This trophy is missable, but very hard to miss.

You come across 3 Centaur Generals throughout the entire game. You'll want to get them so they have the :circle: above their head and then perform the QTE to kill them. This will put their guts on the floor. Do this to all 3 Centaur Generals.

This should unlock in the Caverns.

Or you can glitch it. If you've already beaten the game and the Challenge of Olympus you'll be able to use the combat arena. If you go into the combat arena with no-infinite health, anything but easy, and a few enemies that are supposed to attack you... die a few times. I know my guide wasn't perfect and missed things but I still worked hard on it and found all the challenges videos and hit man video, so a little credit might be nice. but nice guide ten times better than what I will ever do

Actually, I got all those videos from other threads... And the credit was given to those that made the thread that I found them on...

Mr2day, I changed it so it works for you.

about the ladies man trophy.. if you dont succeed the first try and you left her.. you wont see any :circle: on top of her but dont worry.. the later part of the game will allow you to play the minigame again.. :D

I added a portion like this to the Ladies Man description. Do we know if you fail a second time if you're able to do it a 3rd?

Well, I have a lot to add to this. I was going to write one, so this saves me the trouble. I'll just add on to it instead:

"Rip One" - You don't have to wait until you see a :circle: above their head, that's only specific sentries as there are multiple variations of them. Essentially any skeleton will work.

"Nice Tan" - It's best to do this trophy, "Obedience School", and "It's Getting Hot in Here" all at the same time. What you do is take out the head of Helios, hold down :triangle:, release it, then light the hounds on fire. After that you kick them, then kill them.

Whatever trophy pops first you simply stop doing that step.

"Obedience School" - Don't put "pro tip" next to stuff. It isn't a "pro tip", it's the way the trophy should be done.

"Unhuman" - Yet another one with "pro tip". There's no real reason to play through this game multiple times. The only stuff you'd need to "remember" are the chests, and a guide will take care of that. The difficulty of this trophy isn't in remembering stuff, it's in actually executing it. Don't encourage people to play through games multiple times for no reason.

You should link alternate methods for attaining this trophy, as well as putting a note at the top about not leveling Claw of Hades, since this is the quickest/easiest method found so far.

"Hit Man" - You can only do that trick if and only if your Claws of Hades aren't leveled up beyond 2. Otherwise you'll fall very short.

"It's Getting Hot In Here" - See what I said in "Nice Tan".

"No Guts No Glory" - This should unlock once you reach the Caverns for the first time. That is where the third and final centaur is. The first one is in the first level I believe, the second is in Olympia Citadel (Helios' level).

The "Up to the challenge" trophy says "This trophy unlocks once you beat the game.", next to it. That's clearly not the case since the Challenges don't even unlock until after you've beaten the game.

Furthermore, the trophy "aMAZEd" is not without "FALLING" it's "FAILING", as in if you let Pandora die.

You can keep trying it. Another interesting note is that you can do that event twice and get twice the amount of Red Orbs.

Also, going back and using older save files (if you have them) will still keep track of your overall Godly Possession count. So if you finished the game with 8, then reloaded a save on Aphrodite's Chamber and got that, you'd have 9.

@F8L Fool, thanks for the tips. Everything is changed to what you said.

I was doing this early in the morning, so excuse the misspellings of a few things and other various mistakes. Lots of copy and pasting.

And don't like the pro tips? Don't like being pro? :p

@KingBroly & @1galactus, got it.

You should make a note in the Guide about how your progress for picking up the Possessions is kept in the background, so you don't have to do it in 1 playthrough, and if you have old saves, you can go back and get them there aswell.

Good work on the guide. BTW your missing the N in noob3r.

Here are videos thanks to thebestub3r <inset N here> 00b3r. lol.

My 'N' key hates me. That and the 'M' key. They just never like to work.

I can confirm this as I did it for my last two Possessions and I got the trophy. The possessions are even usable in old saves if you've beaten the game.

Nice guide, I'll def be using it after my 2nd playthrough to pick up those trophs that I didn't hit in my first two.

Love GOW series so I know i'm going to play the game many times, no need to worry about getting all of them right away.
