Michelasso
Is anyone actually winning anything?? I think I lost already 1000 coins (w/o reloading the game save, obviously. I didn't check the trophy requirements before beating the main game). And I keep losing now. Worse than the real casino. Damn! I hate those stupid machines!! Where is the Blackjack table?! wrathion
Well it´s just all about luck with the slot machines. You can be lucky and win a lot in 10min but some it takes a few hours. I belive it took me 5 hours before I managed to get more than I had when I left.
Michelasso
Never mind. I've just got lucky! I went into superwin mode, making 1 x500 and 2 x50 (777. Also I've got the fragment). Got 12000 coin profit with the trophy popping up. Good. I should have enough coins for the chaos crystal and odin weapons I suppose! NOW I wish this could happen in real life!! EDIT: I don't know if it matters, but I first spoke with the girl and she said that "the machine was on fire!!". I played about 650 coins that I had and lost all of them. Reloaded, exchanged the casino tickets and in half an hour I started the jackpots. Playing in Auto-Play reduces your chances than playing manually (you win 30% more/or loose 30% less, during big session). Machine modes affects your chances too. Best mood is "it's like hot summer day" that gives 130% to win while playing manually, in auto-play its 99%. The Fragment is obtaind by winning over 7,777 coins in total on the hall of gaming slot machine in any number of sessions.
gtasthehunter
Manual isn't all the much better then Auto-Play. i try auto-play for about 2-3hrs a day reloading a few times in between plays, still really bad even with extra item from ff13 save Also noticed something that starts the 1st Bonus flag arrow bomb 1st reel, Cactuar x3 Reels fade darker x3 no 2 reels lined up or with winning matches, Cactuar x3 *but not really sure what keeps flags going just yet, to enter Bonus Stage where in 5 truns auto win 9's then enters victory mode then to enter bonus stage in VM need Reels fade darker x3 but also a bomb on the 1st reel or Cactuar x3 will end victory mode which is also used to enter bonus stage. My playing with Auto-Play [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFeO-d2RcTs]Final Fantasy XIII-2 - Serendipity Lucky Coin Fragment + Serendipitous Trophy - YouTube[/ame] I don't get how this happens at 0:30 in this! Cetra
I don't get how this happens at 0:30 in this! You can get a Jackpot by "charging" the side bars/lamps. This happens automatically and of course it occurs because of your winning chance which depends on which mood the Slot Machine has and if you use L1 or all necessary buttons for manual playing. Moving On
Played this for the first time yesterday. I did 750 manual turns with the machine at its best "mood" and guess what? Nothing. I got a couple of X3 and a bunch of X1 winnings, but never anything more and certainly no "999" jackpot. I won less than 1000, but spent more than 3500, so that's not very encouraging. How am I ever going to make profit of 7777 and get the fragment? Sigh. I noticed that manual play isn't even random. About 9 times out of 10, I would get a Chocobo in the upper left corner and two on the middle row. No matter how slowly or quickly I pressed the buttons, I usually got that result. Which means the images on the spinners are not random and you really have absolutely no influence over what comes up when you press the buttons. Worst minigame ever. This is even worse than the Den Defense in Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

I have the guide that lists chances to get different winning during normal/victory/super victory mode. Also as I earlier said, the chances in machines best mood in manual play is 130% and again the same on auto-play is 99%. But if you dont want to play manually, according to guide: get 16,000 coins and get string around L1 and leave it. Should be enough.

Also as I earlier said, the chances in machines best mood in manual play is 130% and again the same on auto-play is 99%. I know, I have the guide myself and I have a feeling that 31% difference on manual play is only because you'll be able to bet more coins when you go into Victory and Super Victory mode. I'm not sure, because I've never used auto-play, but to me, it would explain the difference. Still, it is mighty suspicious that I would get the same line of Chocobos whenever I would hit my buttons from right to left. Sometimes I would wait longer to hit the final button, sometimes I would hit it right away... but the final Chocobo would always be in the upper left corner. That's an indication that you have no control over the results and that you'll just win based on an algorithm: the turn you're supposed to win, you will win, no matter how slowly or quickly you hit the buttons. As an update I just played the slots in manual mode again for less than half an hour and I got the fragment. Same machine conditions as yesterday, I did nothing different. Actually, this time I only played 299 turns as opposed to the 750 of yesterday... and now I hit 9 jackpots. Okay, game, whatever you say. I got the fragment after 275 turns and 6 jackpots, I continued on for another 25 turns just to see how long I could stay in Super Victory Mode and hit another 3 jackpots. Random minigames... ugh. I'm very happy I'll never have to go back to Serendipity.
Michelasso
I'm very happy I'll never have to go back to Serendipity. What about all those beautiful prices one can get? 3 fragments and a wild artefact are mandatory anyway. Still I'd like to buy all of them. They cost quite an amount of the coins! Is it better to farm gils or to win coins. maybe with chocobo races? Which leads to another issue. If the chocobo is good, betting we win f. nothing. If it pays high the chocobo is obviously bad and we lose. Maybe the prices for the best races are very high? Anyway I would have preferred that the chocobos could level up playing, like in blitzball. Putting a trophy on that!

Don't really care about the adornments, though. ]Is it better to farm gils or to win coins. maybe with chocobo races? Which leads to another issue. If the chocobo is good, betting we win f. nothing. Winning bets will add to that, though not by all that much if your Chocobo is always a favorite. Farming gil on enemies (Raspatil, for instance, but you can pick easier and quicker targets that drop good coin) probably is the most consistent way to make money. You can potentially earn more on the slot machines if you start winning the 5000 coin jackpots, but as I said above, that requires some random luck. Being 1-2 minutes per race that will go on forever. Still I wished there was a trophy for that!! People had to suffer!

Being 1-2 minutes per race that will go on forever. But if your Chocobo's prize money is 480, that still nets you a profit of almost 600 coins per race. Not too many races give that much money for a first place, but still, it's worth it. Don't spend too much time on the lowest tier races where the prize money is below 100. NIzyer89
I'm getting around 6300-7000 coins per carrier(not including bet wins). Btw the one way to earn fast gil is to win races with dark matter(5,000gil) or even better collectors catolog(11,000gil), and ofc if you have spare coins just buy some phoenix downs(99 get you about 60k) but its money anyway

I don't think there is a way to exchange your casino coins for money anyway (if there is, I'd love to know), so you're always better off spending all your coin winnings and then sell your "free" goods to Chocolina. jamie9000000
Had a go at this today First attempt, gave up after losing 500 coins, second attempt, gave up after losing 1000 coins, third attempt, gave up after losing 1500 coins (each was a reset) Only had one Jackpot, and it didn't last very long in victory mode as it lasted 3 turns. I started these with exactly 4000 coins, and only once I had more than 4000, and that was 4010. Not gonna enjoy going for this trophy/fragment
Moving On
Only had one Jackpot, and it didn't last very long in victory mode as it lasted 3 turns. Same thing happened to me this morning, where I lost Victory Mode within three turns of hitting my first-ever jackpot. But as you can see from my posts above, I also got the fragment this same morning, because suddenly my luck turned and I hit 9 jackpots in 299 turns and 4 of those jackpots were in the same Super Victory Mode. Insanity. In other words, keep at it. If you really don't want to waste time, rubberband the controller for auto mode... but as I said earlier, I think the main reason why manual play nets a 130% average profit over 99% on auto is because you can actually bet 100 coins in Super Victory when you're doing things manually.
wrathion
Well you really dont need a rubber band to set it to auto mode... but it's easier that way as it takes a little time with other objects to hold the button down. Well I had more luck on auto mode than I ever had doing it manualy. But I guess that is just my luck.

Iussus
I personally found painter's tape to be much better than a rubber band... it leaves no sticky residue when removed. You pretty much need the "it's like a hot summer's day" in order to make a profit. I tried it on "it's on fire" and made much less.

I lost a good amount of coins (500-700 each) with both. Then i tried again with the machine on fire and I've got 12K profit (again, after losing 600-700 coins). Is it possible that one is better with automatic reel and the other with manual?
