So with the announcement that the site's boosting threads will be undergoing a complete overhaul to make them more efficient, in order to do so, we would need the community's help. In an effort to make boosting threads more efficient, tips will now be included in the first post for easy viewing. No longer will you have to sift through pages and pages to look for that one particular method.

This is where you guys come in. In order for tips to be added, we would need members to post them in this thread, so that they don't get ignored or overlooked elsewhere.

Some things to keep in mind when submitting a tip(s):

  1. Please specify which trophy(s) your posted method is for. If its just a general "how to set up your matches" type of deal, let us know that is the case.
  2. If a boosting method in the stickied Trophy Guide is efficient, simply let us know that is the case and we'll copy the method into the Boosting Thread.
  3. In order for your tip to be added in the first post of a boosting thread, make sure you post a link or a quote, that shows us your method has been discussed and confirmed by other members and that it indeed works.
  4. In the case that tips for a certain trophy(s) requires multiple posts, consider making a separate thread instead (ie. http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/resistance-2/97049-resistance-2-killing-machine-boosting-image-walkthrough.html)
  5. If there are multiple methods in boosting a trophy(s), feel free to submit that here as well, provided that its as efficient as the other ones.
  6. Please do not post methods that would interfere with ongoing legitimate online matches or lead to a PSN account ban (ie. Killzone 2)

Once you have posted a tip, a member of the staff will look over it, and if guidelines have been followed, it will then be added to the opening post.

Make sure the tip that you have posted or linked us to is in a easy to read and understandable format. Not only would it give us an easier time to tweak around with it in terms of format, but it would just be a simple task of copying and pasting.

How to Boost Experience in Multiplayer

# of Players Needed : 6 People

Setup Needed : Player Match, Alliance

Preferred Perk : Resistance (Lv.27)

DLC Package : 2.0

Anything Else? : Setting up a Text Chat is a good idea for Quick Communication/Player Invites

Pre-Match Setup

#1 - Once you get to the Multiplayer Menu, go to Options, then Downloadable Content, and make sure next to "Animus Project Update 2.0" that it says "On." If it doesn't, go down to it, hit :cross: and then toggle it to "On," then hit :cross: again. Now you're ready to boost.

#2 - Host Only - The person hosting will go to Play, Player Match, Set the Game Mode to Alliance, and then select Create Group. From here, the host can invite others to boost. You can do this by either inviting people off of your Friends List, or, if you've created a Text Chat, invite them from there, by selecting Participants, going under each individual name, and sending them an invite from there. It's pretty straight-forward once you see it. Now, onto playing.

Note: If people can't connect, keep inviting them until they get in. This game can be stubborn at times when it comes to player invites.

#3 - DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT pick a character that has a cape. Characters with Capes have much smaller hitboxes, and are therefore harder to stun/lock onto. It will slow down the amount of XP anyone can get if you do pick one.

Playing Guidelines

#1 - Whenever possible, get some place high and flat. This is to avoid two problems: First, the crowd. Having a bunch of AI bumping into your boosting party. Second, if you're on a flat surface, there's no danger of you falling off. If you can't find an ideal place, try and find an open/walled off space so you have enough room to not be interrupted a lot by the AI.

#2 - Break into 2 groups of 3, separate from the other group. It doesn't really matter who is in what group, but there has to be 1 member from each team in each group. The goal of boosting experience is to stun your pursuer, I.E. the person you're not contracted to kill. In order to do that, Hold :l1:, which is lock-on, and press :circle: which is stun. :l1: makes it easier to stun, and also gives you more experience points for performing a stun.

#3 - What should be going on here is a 3 way stun rotation. You stun your pursuer, the person you're pursuing stuns you, and then your pursuer gets up to stun the person you're pursuing. This is where the Resistance Perk (earned at Level 27) comes into play, as it reduces your downed time from 7 seconds to 3 seconds as it will increase the amount of XP you can get per round by quite a bit. So once you get there, make sure you put it in your Profile Set.

#4 - DO NOT KILL ANYONE BEFORE THE FINAL 10 SECONDS OF A MATCH. You're trying to maximize experience here, not kills or streaks. This also helps for the Strong Closer Trophy, if you want to pick it up along the way. Also, if any tension comes up, it can simmer a bit in-between rounds and matches. While Poison and Smoke Bombs may help you get kills at the end of a round, they aren't required for boosting.

Using these tips, you'll earn at least 12,500 XP per match on average, where matches take 10 minutes to complete including loading times and start-up. So in an hour that's about 75,000 XP, meaning it should take no more than 8 hours of boosting to reach level 50. Fortunately for me, I was able to do this and get all the remaining multiplayer Trophies in 6 hours, 50 minutes, 26 seconds total. So, as you can see, there is a huge advantage to knowing what to do here.

Tekken 6

Let your partner take a win on a Ranked and a Player match and then it's your turn to take these wins. After you both have these two trophies, arrange so that one of you quickly beats the other in 26 more matches (no need for other wins anyway) to quickly reach the 30 online matches trophy.

NARUTO Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2

The boosting method is mentioned in the link below

http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/naruto-shippuden-ultimate-ninja-storm-2/86511-50-win-20-lose-online-title-boosting-guide.html

Overlord II

Take turns in winning 10 pirate plunder and 10 dominate matches with your partner. Just tell your boosting friend to sit tight when you win the match. In one of these matches kill your partner 20 times and then let him kill you another 20 to get the Adversary trophy. For the Dominate matches, catch as many domination points as you can with your minion. For the pirate plunder matches, use your minions to control the ship and then run over some gold to collect it. Once the timer is over, you win the match.

Tom Clancy's HAWX

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/36/022.jpgGeneral of the Airforce (S)

Become "General of the Airforce" (level 40).

You need a total of 5 people to get this as fast as possible. Host a private match on NORMAL settings. The person that wants his XP boosted goes to a team with one more and pick the YF-12A with the T.O.P loadout. The other 3 on a second team. All the other 4 players must pick the SU-25 Frogfoot with the 100 Joint Strike Missile loadout. All planes must fly at an altitude of 10,000 meters flying in a straight line. The teammate of the person that has the YF-12A will be first with the three enemy players behind him. Finally the YF-12A will be last. Don't fly at a high speed so you don't have to turn very often. Now the three players will attack the other Frogfoot with all of their 100 missile. Now the YF-12A will use his Target Override Pod and deflect the missiles. This will give you many many experience points. When the enemy planes run out of ammo, they will suicide so their ammo is back. In 1 match of 15 minutes the player that used the T.O.P. had more than 800,000 xp!!! So in two matches you will get your trophy. After that change turns so all players get their trophy. That way you will also acquire the Deflector ace trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/36/046.jpgSitting ducks (S)

Kill 2 enemies with Multi Target AA missiles while they are affected by your EMP strike.

Requires at least 4 boosters and a plane with the Multi AA missiles.

To get the EMP strike, it is better your team is way back on the score board. This mean you must be losing with more than 50 points. Then start getting kills and hope that you get the EMP strike. When you do, tell two of your boosters in the enemy team to fly very close in a low speed. Decrease their health down to 30. Equipt the AA missiles and after you deploy the EMP.

For all the weapon kill trophies, they can be done in a 1vs1 match with only 1 booster, or be acquired as you boost other trophies. To make it even faster, you can both shoot the missiles at the same time while driving at the same straight line, so both of you get killed by the enemies weapons.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/36/033.jpgWing ace pilot (B)

Remain the Team Ace for a total time of 20 minutes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/36/034.jpgWing leader (B)

Be the Match Leader for a total time of 20 minutes.

Both of these trophies can easily be acquired with boosting with 2 or more players. Just tell everyone in the group to let you get the most kills and then wait for the match to end. If this is done right, in 2 matches you will have both of these trophies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/36/050.jpgEvasion ace (G)

Dodge 10 Radar-Guided missiles without using flares in multiplayer matches.

Tell your partner to target you with a Radar Guided missile. Then once the missile heads towards you, your partner will turn the target away from you so the missile misses its target. Do this 9 more times to get the trophy.

http://ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/36/026.jpgSupport ace(B)

Call in every support element at least once.

  • Repair Drone (All Damage done to your plane is repaired and the plane has full health)

  • Altitude Limiter (Limits the altitude at which enemy planes can fly)

  • Radar (All enemies show up on your Map)

  • Radar Jamming (Disables enemy Radar)

  • Cannon Upgrade (Cannon damage increased + more ammo)

  • EMP Strike (An electro-magnetic pulse is sent out that temporarily disables all enemy planes)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/36/043.jpgCounter support ace (B)

Complete all counter support challenges.

  • Activate Missile Suppression while the enemy has AWACS.
  • Destroy 3 Repairs Drones in a row.
  • Activate Cannon Upgrade while the enemy has Missile Suppression active.
  • Call in AWACS support while the enemy team is jamming you.
  • Use EMP strike when the enemy has altitude limiter on.

For these two trophies, the best you can do is to try and combine them. For example, whenever you get an EMP strike, save it until one of your partners gets an altitude limiter. You can't choose which to get so it's all about luck. The EMP strike, the AWACS and the Missile Suppresion are very rare to get. To have a chance to get one, your team must be behind on the score.

Complete 150 Multiplayer games.

This trophy can be boosted solo. Normally it would take a lot of time to get this but there is a fast way to get the trophy in less than 3 hours. The main idea is to create a private match and start the game normally. When you spawn on the field you quit and you have one match played. Repeat this process 149 times.

All the other online trophies of this game can be done in a Private Match with 2 people only.

Ghostbusters Tips for Gozers Most Wanted, Pay Day and Overachiever:

- Download and print off these checklists:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/ghostbusters/21844-gozers-most-wanted-checklist.html

http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/ghostbusters/21338-payday-checklist.html

http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/ghostbusters/22123-official-overachiever-requirements.html

- Find a boosting partner.

Gozer's Most Wanted:

Follow this advice from Conceptfly:

I just felt the need to put all of this information in one place, since it took a lot of searching for my boosting partner and I to find it, along with almost two playthroughs online.

There is a great checklist to download on this site to help with which ones to beat, and it is important to complete all events for Gozer's Most Wanted with the following:

1) Do not cross streams enough to knock each other down

2) If someone quits out then the game sees it as a loss, even if it says victory

3) You must win each slime dunk event (not just compete in)

4) You must contain all ghosts (15), survive all rounds (10), destroy all relics (26), win each slime dunk (actually have the most money), have all three PKE's to 100%, and have at least one relic (four is not needed) remaining

5) It does not matter if someone is downed during the victory

6) You do not have to be host

7) You do not have to win (have the most money) on any event other than slime dunk

8) You MUST do ranked Instant maps for Gozer's Most Wanted

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY

9) YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOUR STATS UPDATE BEFORE DOING ANOTHER EVENT

The stats thing is what got us, and numerous others from what we read. You have to check multiplayer statistics and wait until your money and events total have updated (L1 from the most wanted checklist). If you don't Atari's servers for this game will not bother to remember that you played it, and it will not count as a win.

Sometimes it happens within a few seconds, but usually it takes minutes. We had it take up to almost 10 minutes at times. But it is vital for the platinum, which I now proudly own!

I can 100% confirm the above advice as I used it get my (P) :D.

Payday:

The only real advice for Payday I can offer is for the Protection mode:

- Choose the Stasis gun as your primary weapon.

- Don't catch and trap the ghosts in the 1st 2 waves else they'll keep spawning and attacking the poles.

- Whilst you're doing the above, make sure you grab ALL the power-ups and keep grabbing them until they turn to Stasis ammo.

- Once the Golem(s) appear in Wave 3, IMMEDIATELY hit it/them with the Stasis gun's secondary fire. Once the Golem(s) is/are frozen, keep pulsing the Stasis gun to keep it/them frozen. When you're almost out of ammo, immediately pick up some more and repeat the freezing process until the final pole is fully extended.

Overachiever:

All I can say for this is to keep trying and follow the above checklist. Each Post-match award counts as a separate award in each of the different game types.

These trophies aren't that hard to get IF the servers play nice and people don't mess around

I've highlighted the information in the above posts that needs sources and/or needs to be verified by another person. If you have a link to a post in the boosting thread, guide or another thread, you need to include it with your post. I've already seen one boosting tip posted and then edited because the information wasn't correct, which is what we're trying to avoid.

on my way out the door, but here's a quickie:

PJ Shooter 2

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/414/13.jpg (B) One Giant Leap

Advance to a higher league through Online Battle.

You need 7000 points total to get this trophy.

Points are scored as follows:

win a match you have bet on = 3000 points (10x what you would get otherwise)

win a match with no bet = 300 points

a draw = 300 points EACH

a loss = 0 points (you won't lose any points)

Simply swap DRAWS back and forth (for example, each of you can rescue 1 survivor in the match) for maximum points. You unfortunately won't be able to bet till AFTER you get this trophy...

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/414/12.jpg (B) You've Got to Know When to Hold 'em

Win an online battle you have bet on.

This is not available initially, but once you get to the 2nd planet (when you earn the One Giant Leap trophy) you will have this option. If you paired up with your boosting partner, place a bet and have your boosting partner let you win - you get a win, a lot of points, and this trophy!

EDIT: I don't have a source for this, can someone verify?

Lucha Libre AAA Heroes of the Ring has three online trophies that need to be boosted:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/575/28.jpg

You're nobody

Win an online mask vs hair match.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/575/27.jpg

Rising star

Win 5 matches in a row online using your custom luchador or luchadores.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/575/29.jpg

Long live me!

Win 5 masks vs hair matches without losing the hair or the mask of your luchador.

-----------------------------------------------

best way to get these trophies is by following this guide posted by GoatGotGame

This is for anyone who may come across this down the road or pick up the game in the future. The Guide is a bit vague when it comes to this trophy, so I thought I would write a little guide in hopes of helping someone avoid a lot of headache that I have had.

~All Matches Must Be In Ranked~

1st: Find a Partner using the boosting thread

2nd: Have your Boosting Partner create 4 custom luchadors

3rd: Use only one of your custom luchadors and beat all four of theirs in a hair vs mask match.

4th: Go into an exhibition match, using that same custom luchador, and win a match.

Following these 4 steps will net you Rising Star & You're Nobody!

5th: Let your Boosting Partner win 3 matches in a row in exhibition with their custom luchador to regain their mask.

6th: Using the same custom luchador that you won the previous 4 mask with, beat their now remasked luchador.

This will net you the Long Live Me! Trophy

All you have to do is rinse and repeat for your partner and you both will have all the online trophies in no time.

I hope this clears up some vagueness, because it took me some time to figure out that winning 5 hair vs mask matches is not the same as winning 5 without losing yours.

For these trophies, have one player setup a match on control points with a one-minute limit. Trade wins each as Autobots and decepticons. To win these matches, one player just needs to go around the map and take over the majority of the control points by simply standing close to each one of them.

While playing One Shall Stand, as the leader, kill the opposing leader in a RANKED/PLAYER MATCH game

Setup a One Shall Stand game, one player will host and the other will join. With just two players, each one is a leader. Simply kill the other player once for this trophy.

Host one game of each game type in a PLAYER MATCH game

Each player must host one-match of each type below. This can be done along with the previous trophies above. Ensure your matches do not end in a tie to ensure each will count towards your progress:

  • Deathmatch
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Control Point
  • One Shall Stand
  • Battle for the Shards

Win a match as each of the 15 default characters

This trophy will unlock upon winning the match with the last character left on the list. The fastest way to win is have one player host and setup Control Points matches with the setting on one-round, and with a one-minute time limit. Simply hold the most control points before time runs out to be considered the winner.

Alien Breed: Impact; this is a 100% offline platinum. The co op portion can be done solo with controller reassign and to be honest, it's way easier this way. Here's a link to the thread:

Um im not sure whether u want tips to not get banned in KZ2? I boosted this 5 sessions for 2 hours each and didnt even get noticed.

Ill post em anyway

Make a lobby named 1V1

NO password and just make it as if ur making a normal game.

Get ur partner to join the lobby and take turns killing so ur deaths and kills are both about even.

I did this and it worked flawlessly. Not sure how good it wiuld work with valor but with ribbons it worked great.

Anything above this post, has been added to their respective boosting threads. Unless I just so happened to have played the game as well :p, when posting, please make sure you can verify it when posting, or have someone else verify the methods in this thread here. If the trophy guide already covers a good boosting tip, I'm not gonna add it in since a link to the guide is provided in the first post of the boosting threads.

Rather than going by sections, if you got a boosting tip for any game at all, feel free to post here. Within the next couple of days/weeks, every boosting thread in the forum should have an updated template.

So again, keep the tips coming!

Should there be a section for dlc?

Sure, if a good method hasn't been posted yet.

For quantum of Solace a tip for boosting credits is to search golden gun and each person gets 16 kills each and then kills themselves. This gives you 970 points every 6 minutes, the more people u have the less time it takes. U can ask anyone in the boosting thread, its the only way ti boost it pretty much.

It's a link to my post answering a members question of the best method to boost kills. It would basically add to the first post so it covers everything.

A few other members on the same page found it helpful so maybe others also will..

Thanks, I've added them both in.

All boosting threads for retail games, to my knowledge at least, have been updated with the new template. I'll sort out the rest if the PSN titles later this week. Thanks for helping out guys, keep them coming!

I know tips/strategies aren't requested for this game at the moment, but none seem to be??

A lot of this stuff is something I've done multiple times and with many people through the boosting thread, so I can confirm it works as can the others. Throughout the boosting thread where I was organising games, there are a few people who posted about my games and that they worked, but it's understandable if you'd like to wait till it's confirmed by others before adding it.

I noticed that the boosting thread for this game had been updated to include the new format, so I'll submit:

Homefront boosting strategies/tips

First off, this game is a pain to boost and requires co-operation from all involved otherwise it falls apart very quickly and it soon will become apparent that you will get the trophies quicker playing legitimately, even if you are sub-par at Shooters (like me).

These steps will assume that you have a Chat room open and all players are invited to keep communication.

First step will be to head to the BOOSTING THREAD and either add your name to a list of 16 people or start one of your own. Wether you go for Full Boat early or not will not matter, if you get the opportunity, jump at it.

Once you've got yourself on a list, keep checking it out to find out about times (make sure you compensate for your timezone) and get yourself onto that game for "Full Boat". You will find that some people won't turn up but you might get lucky and have some people on your list with friends who are kind enough to join for a few minutes to help out.

Now for good Methods for boosting the trophies:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/46.jpg Full Boat

Once your list (read above) is full and the game get's started, your trophy should pop... Not really "boosting" as such, more a case of trying to have everyone organized to be on at the same time. I'd recommend that if the opportunity comes up, you jump at it as soon as possible.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/47.jpg 3 Star Threat

&

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/48.jpg 5 Star Threat

These don't really require boosting as the easiest method is to use the Parrot drone, fly as high as you can and mark everyone you see and keep moving. Once you hit 45 marks, you'll have got both of them, I got these done in my second Battle Commander match. The only issue you will have is when people get annoyed and start shooting at your drone.

This is boostable if you have trouble, if it becomes a battle commander match (usually the second match when playing "skirmish" mode), just use a drone or get the required amount of kills when it's your turn (see expert of war for what I mean by "your turn"). With kills, this will require a streak of 15 kills which is achievable when boosting is going the right way.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/44.jpg Squad Commander

Ideally, you will want to try and get this one done with "Medal of Honour". you will need at least 4 people, either that, or if your "Full Boat" group starts boosting, split off into groups. It would be ideal to have 8 + people (See medal of honour for why). The person requiring both trophies needs to host the game, invite everyone (or have the others join on them) and then start the game. Soon after starting the game, this trophy will pop - again, not really "boosting" more about having the people there at the right time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/45.jpg Medal of Honour

Same principle as Squad commander, but the same person needs to be on the winning team to get this one. The reason I suggest 8 + people is that way it will end up being at least a 4v4 match where everyones in on it and you can ensure the correct team wins the match.

This can be achieved without boosting and with only 1 other person in your "squad", but you will both need to keep playing legitimate matches until you win one.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/39.jpg Weapon expert

See Expert of War and apply that method to any Primary Weapon - unsure if it would work for a secondary, but combined with boosting and legitimate playing, it's unlikely you'll get 200 kills with your pistol before a main gun.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/40.jpg Drone Expert

See Expert of War and apply that method to a Drone, although it's probably quicker to play legitimate matches and spam the hell out of the Parrot marking drone given there will be more players and it's a really cheap purchase anyway.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/41.jpg Vehicle Expert

See Expert of War and apply that method to a Vehicle, although this will be very time consuming in a boosting match to get the required points for your selected vehicle and will likely only come about during the closing minutes of a match.

I would probably reccomend you just use vehicles in legit matches as it's a bit unfair to go nuts in a vehicle when boosting unless you've organized it earlier and all involved are cool with it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/42.jpg Expert of War

There's a LOT of info to take in here, but it's all very much required. It's ideal to have all players involved to have familiarised themselves with these instructions or it will all fall apart pretty quick.

200 kills with all weapons, drones and vehicles (yes, rocket launchers, air strikes and grenades count towards this one), 100 wins in each mode and all killstreaks...

If your "full boat" group keeps going afterwards, this will be quite easy in theory, but rarely does everyone play fair. I've organized and hosted a couple of these myself and had some good games and some ones where people just don't play fair or they "forget, lol".

So, you will have your group of 16 people, all in a squad together, the leader (host) chooses to start a skirmish match (max 16 players so no randoms will join in and a good mix of all game types).

Once in the game, here's what to do:

-All players run to a central point on the map, once you are killed, go there again.

-Run with your pistol out as this is the fastest running you can do.

-You can fire a couple of shots in the air as you approach to make yourself visible to the other team on their mini map.

-Team U.S.A. (you will see what team you are on by looking at the "flag" above the loadout window when you are spwaning - or you can press select for the score screen and it will have the same thing there) starts.

-First team (U.S.A.) gets 10 kills each (in a deathmatch) or 15 kills each (in ground control - no one is to get a control point until the last minute of the game - team KPA to get it) with their prefered weapon which will allow each player to complete the killstreak for which ever weapon they are using.

- Once all players on team U.S.A. have 10 (or 15) kills each, host sends a message in the chat room to "SWAP".

-KPA team then get's 10 (or 15) kills each.

At this point there's a few things you can do

in deathmatch:

- mop up. If someone missed a streak, use the opportunity to allow that person to get 10 kills with their gun.

- Compete. All go at it as though it's legit match just for a few extra kills and have some fun.

- Airstikes. Try save these for end of matches. Have all on opposing team bunch up, drop your air strike and enjoy. Try and be fair with this and organize it before the match via chat room. If done right and organized, a few people can get 8 kills with an airstrike.

in ground control:

- Alternate teams to keep getting more kills in incremements of 2 or 5 if you're all comfortable with that.

- Compete. Same as before, play legitimately

- Airstikes. Same as above.

More often than not, once every one hit's 10 kills each, all hell breaks loose and everyone goes nuts, but it's usually fun and breaks the monotony of the boosting.

This can be done with less players (I've heard of people doing 1v1 matches on ground control), but you run the risk of random players joining and screwing things up for everyone. If you can get to them quick with a headset or a message, sometimes they'll join in or leave the match, but 85 % of the time, they'll ignore you and end up getting 30+ kills... if this happens, keep going, but try and focus on killing the random players to stop them getting a massive kill count.

Once the match ends, leave, all re-group and start again. Dont leave the game earlier as your killstreaks wont carry through until the end of the match and I have reason to believe that any kills obtained are wiped when you leave a match as well.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/639/43.jpg Over The Hill

Not really needed to boost, If you are going for Expert of War, you will get this about a 3rd of the way through...

Hope this all helps
