neahcrow
F1 2011 Vita Trophy Guide and Road Map by neahcrow Overview: -Estimated trophy difficulty: 3.5/10 (Platinum Difficulty Thread) -Overall number of trophies: 31 - 14(B) | 10(S) | 6(G) | 1(P) -Offline: 31 -Online: 0 -Approximate time to Platinum: 15-30hrs Est. -Minimum number of playthroughs: 8 Career Seasons and Challenges. -Number of missable trophies: 1, "Learning To Fly" -Glitched trophies: None -Online Pass Needed: No -Does Difficulty Affect Trophies?: No Road Map Step 1 - While there is no requirement on which order you complete the trophies, you might want to start off first with your Career. You can race on the Easiest difficulty and use all of the driving aids you prefer. I would suggest keeping off all the driving aids on except for "Predictive Braking". "Predictive Braking" will keep you from completing some of the harder challenges in the game when you need to be fast. Also, I would highly recommend switching to Control Method "B" in the Options section of the Main Menu. I was able to drive much quicker after switching to this format. This option uses the shoulder buttons as the inputs for acceleration and braking. In your first season, you will want to do a full qualifying session for each race in order to unlock Must Dash and Leader Of The Pack. Make sure you win the pole on each track. Also, make sure you win on every track. This will help you easily unlock Shoe Maker and Clean Sweep. After the first season there is no longer any need to qualify so proceed directly to the Race bypassing Qualifying each week. On Easy, you will be able to get to first place by the end of the first lap so continue using 3 Lap length races. You will unlock Legendary Charge as you do this. The career mode is the easiest in the game but it will be a long, boring grind to unlock The Greatest Of All Time. Expect to invest about 10 hours in career mode. Step 2 - Go to Challenge mode in the Main Menu. There are 10 "levels" in challenge mode. In each level there are initially five separate challenges. You can receive a grade from an "E" to "A 3 stars" on each challenge. As soon as you complete three challenges receiving a "C" or higher, you will unlock a final challenge. Complete this challenge with a "C" grade or higher to advance to the next level. Again, there is no need to complete every challenge. Complete the minimum to advance through each level to Level 10 in the fastest amount of time. By completing the final challenge on Level 10, you will unlock Champion, and you will have unlocked all of the other challenge related trophies along the way - as long as you have at least received one "A" grade. The challenge mode is pretty straightforward and moderately easy. I would suggest always completing the cornering, overtaking and checkpoint race challenges as they seemed easier than some of the other types. Step 3 - In the main menu go to Time Trial in the Main Menu. First, with all driving assists OFF and using manual gears go to Budapest or Monte Carlo and at least get a bronze medal to unlock Learning To Fly. This trophy is missable if you don't unlock it before achieving a gold medal on all of the circuits. Then beat the time on each track using your preferred setup to receive the Gold Menu, in order to unlock Timed To Perfection. Step 4 - Clean Up. You can do a quick race and unlock trophies such as Manual Master, Unassisted, Unplugged, Banger Racing and High Roller all in a couple of races. Edited April 23, 2012 by Terminator Editorial Sweep. In the first session, Q1, you need to finish at least in the Top 17 by the end of the of the session to advance to Q2. If you finish with one of the Top 10 times in Q2 you will advance to Q3 and unlock this trophy. You will unlock this trophy before unlocking POLE POSITION. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/03.jpg FLYING LAP ACHIEVE YOUR FIRST TIME TRIAL MEDAL When running a time trial, a time to beat will be displayed in the top left hand corner of the screen. There are three times to beat for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals on each circuit. The first time you beat a Bronze time you will unlock this trophy and you will do so as you work towards unlocking TIMED TO PERFECTION. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/04.jpg SPEED DEMON DRIVE FASTER THAN 230MPH (370KM/H) You will unlock this trophy the first time you drive down a long straight, such as at the Yas Marina Circuit. If you have not unlocked it, tune your car's gearing towards more speed than acceleration. Also, remember to use DRS and KERS on the longest straight. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/05.jpg CHALLENGER COMPLETE A CHALLENGE WITH A C RANK OR ABOVE On each challenge you can receive a grade as low as an "E" to an "A 3 stars". The first time you receive a "C" ranking this will unlock. You will get it as you work towards CHAMPION. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/06.jpg TOE TO TOE WIN A HEAD TO HEAD CHALLENGE There are 10 levels of challenges. To advance from the first level you must complete three of the five challenges with a "C" grade or better. This will unlock a final challenge that you must also score a "C" grade or better if you wish to advance to the next level. The final challenge of the 2nd level is a head to head race with another driver. You will get this trophy as you work towards CHAMPION. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/07.jpg TUNED TO PERFECTION TAKE POLE POSITION IN QUALIFYING WITH A TUNED VEHICLE Before qualifying, simply make any adjustment in the "Tuning" section of the menu. Choose one of these tracks under "Quick Race". Then go to "Race Settings" and select "Weather" to be "On". Simply win the race and the trophy will unlock. neahcrow
http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/14.jpg STIRLING PERFORMANCE LAP EVERY CAR IN A RACE IN WET CONDITIONS Go to Quick Race in the Menu. Select a track such as Sao Paulo, Silverstone, or Spa that allows rain to occur. In "Race Settings" set "Weather" to "On". You will need to set the "Race Length" to at least 10% if not more in order to have enough time to lap every car, even on easy. Please note that this trophy will not unlock after you lap every car. Rather, it will unlock after you complete the race. You will unlock April Shower when you unlock this trophy. I chose to run my 100% length race at the same time and also unlocked Endurance. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/15.jpg ENDURANCE COMPLETE A 100% DISTANCE RACE Set up a Quick Race from the Main Menu. In Race Settings set Race Length to 100%. Make sure that your Vita's battery is fully charged or you are using AC power as the race will roughly take 1 1/2 hours to complete. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/16.jpg GRADE A PERFORMANCE EARN AN A RANK IN CHALLENGE MODE While in Challenge Mode, complete any of the Challenges with an A-1 Star rank or better to unlock this trophy. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/17.jpg LEARNING TO FLY POST A FLYING LAP TO WIN A TIME TRIAL MEDAL WITH ALL DRIVING AIDS DISABLED This trophy is missable. In the Main Menu go to Time Trial. Select one of the easier Time Trial tracks such as Budapest or Monte Carlo. In Race Settings set all of the Driving Aids to Off, and choose manual gears. Drive easy around the track and simply beat the Bronze Medal time in order to unlock this trophy. NOTE: I would complete this trophy first before you complete too many time trials. After you unlock the medals on each track, you cannot do so again and some of the tracks are very hard to get a medal on with all manual controls. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/18.jpg UNPLUGGED WIN A RACE WITH ALL DRIVING AIDS DISABLED Select Grand Prix from the Main Menu. Choose Monte Carlo as the circuit. Proceed from Q1 through Q3 with all driving aids ON and make sure you secure pole position. BEFORE you quit out of Q3 (while you are still on the track), and AFTER you are sure you will win pole position, switch all Driving Aids to OFF and switch to Manual gears. You will not be able to do so when the race starts. The A.I is so slow at Monte Carlo that you should not have any problem winning from pole position even if you are not used to Manual controls. Thanks to Lightsp33d1987 for the tip. You will also unlock Manual Master and Unassisted if you have not done so already. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/19.jpg BANGER RACING REPAIR DAMAGE TO YOUR CAR IN THE PITS AND GO ON TO WIN THE RACE Select Quick Race from the Main Menu and choose Monte Carlo as the Circuit. In Race Settings choose Damage to be ON. A 3 Lap race should be sufficient. From 24th drive into the lead as quickly as you can, which will be simple on Easy difficulty. If you have Penalties Off you can cut the corners as well. On your way you may have a collision which will cause damage to your car. On your HUD, the area of your car will turn yellow or orange if it has been damaged and your radio will inform you as well. On one of the laps pit for a repair. This will only take a couple of seconds and you should have plenty of time to still go on an win the race. If you follow this method you will unlock High Roller at the same time. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/20.jpg HIGH ROLLER WIN THE MONTE CARLO GRAND PRIX WITH VEHICLE DAMAGE ENABLED Please refer to Banger Racing on instructions on how to unlock this trophy. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/21.jpg PRANCER COMPLETE A LAP OF MONZA WITH AN AVERAGE SPEED GREATER THAN 150MPH (241 KM/H) You will easily unlock this trophy in your pursuit of Timed To Perfection if not before. I unlocked it during my first race at Monza. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/22.jpg THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME WIN EIGHT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS This is a very easy trophy but easily the most time-consuming trophy in the game. Expect to spend at least 10 hours unlocking it. In your first season you should qualify for each race and win the pole position in order to unlock Leader Of The Pack and Must Dash. After unlocking those trophies there is no more reason to qualify. Just skip to the race in Seasons 2-8. On Easy difficulty you will be able to jump from 24th to 1st in the first lap or so. Unfortunately there is no way to skip or forfeit races after you have built up an insurmountable lead in the Championship, so you will have to complete each race. You can win eight championships in the single season Championship mode or the multi-season Career mode. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/23.jpg CLEAN SWEEP WIN EVERY GRAND PRIX Simply win on every circuit. This does not have to be accomplished in one year, and will surely be accomplished during your Career if not by the end of the first year. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/24.jpg LEADER OF THE PACK ACHIEVE POLE ON EVERY CIRCUIT During the first year of your career, make sure to win the pole position during each Grand Prix to get this trophy and Must Dash out of the way. Qualifying is divided into three sessions. In the first session, Q1, finish at least in the Top 17 by the end of the of the session to advance to Q2. If you finish with one of the Top 10 times in Q2 you will advance to Q3. By the end of Q3 you must have the quickest time in order to achieve Pole Position. This will be very simple on Easy difficulty. To make sure that you will receive the Pole Position, check your time in relation to the other drivers' times at the end of each session. After you complete a lap you are satisfied with, head back to the garage and select Advance Time. If somehow someone would beat your time, go back out on to the track to set a better lap. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/25.jpg GO THE DISTANCE DRIVE 1000 MILES (1610KM) You will easily unlock this trophy as you work towards the Platinum trophy. neahcrow
http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/26.jpg DRIVING LEGEND BEAT THE REAL WORLD LAP RECORD ON ANY CIRCUIT You will easily unlock this trophy as you work towards TIMED TO PERFECTION if not before. I unlocked it before I even started the Time Trials during a race in Sao Paulo. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/27.jpg TIMED TO PERFECTION ACHIEVE ALL GOLD TIME TRIAL TROPHIES This is easily the most difficult trophy in the game. With that being said it is also a fairly bizarre trophy. You can achieve a Gold Medal time even if you drive off course on roughly 1/3 of the tracks, 1/3 require a fairly strong lap and 1/3 you will need to not only drive a perfect lap but also have the correct setup. The general consensus seems to be that Yas Marina, Suzuka, Monza, Spa, Silverstone, Montreal and Istanbul are the most difficult tracks to achieve the required times. FIRST, before you start a Time Trial, go to Tuning. Adjust Oversteer to 100% on the first page, and SPEED/ACCELERATION to 70%. Thanks again to Lightsp33d1987 for this invaluable tip. I achieved the Gold Medal on EVERY track with this setup. Also, make sure you are using DRS ( - Layout B) on every straight, and use KERS ( - Layout B) generally accelerating onto the longest straight. For a more detailed discussion of some additional tips for the most difficult tracks, check this thread. There is some confusion it seems over what the Gold Medal Time is. A time to beat is displayed in the top left hand corner of the screen. You will know that you beat the Gold Medal time once your best lap time is better than the "Time to beat" (and it isn't changing). Also, you will receive the Gold Medal after you quit from the Time Trial. Here are the following times required to receive the Gold Medal on each track: Melbourne 1:24.200 Kuala Lumpur 1:32.000 Shanghai 1:32.700 Istanbul 1:24.750 Catalina 1:27.000 Monte Carlo 1:20.000 Montreal 1:08.100 Valencia 1:35.100 Silverstone 1:27.500 Nuremberg 1:35.000 Budapest 1:22.100 Spa 1:42.100 Monza 1:20.300 Singapore 1:43.350 Suzuka 1:32.350 Yeongam 1:38.850 New Delhi 1:27.650 Yas Marina 1:37.250 Sao Paulo 1:12.150 http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/28.jpg LEGENDARY CHARGE! WIN A RACE STARTING FROM 24TH ON THE GRID You will easily accomplish this while grinding through Seasons 2 through 8. You will actually probably do so every race during that time. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/29.jpg MUST DASH! EARN 14 POLE POSITIONS IN A SINGLE SEASON Please refer to Leader Of The Pack. While that trophy can be accomplished over a career, just keep in mind that for this trophy you need to secure 14 of the 19 in a single season. The best way is to win all the pole positions in Season 1. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/30.jpg SHOE MAKER EARN 149 CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS IN A SINGLE SEASON You will easily accomplish this if you are on Easy difficulty and are winning the majority of the races each season. http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1384/31.jpg CHAMPION BEAT SEBASTIAN VETTEL IN THE CHALLENGE MODE HEAD TO HEAD RACE Go to Challenge mode in the Main Menu. Grafinenko
For the 8 seasons trophy there is a way to forfeit races. Set penalty to realistic at the begining of the season. After you have built up an insurmountable lead drive like crazy, cut turs, ram other cars. You will get disqualified and get DNF . That way you will gain a lot of time

RiptorDC
Alternatively you can set the penalties to Relaxed to make the races a little easier for the majority of the races in the season and then when you have an insumountable lead, you can turn your car around at the start of a race and drive backwards on the track, disqualifying you almost instantly from the race

HachiRokuCH
Thanks for the great guide! Did help me a lot with the time trials setup. Also I noticed that if you miss the Learning to Fly trophy there's a way to get it later. Just delete the F1 2011 game icon in the menu which will delete the save data. Once done restart the vita and let the game again install to your menu. Start up the game and you're able to get the trophy as all your records are deleted. But as stated, the records are gone so be sure that you got gold on all before you do this.

YokA_sun
Yeah, not easy for me. I am not good at racing in general. Would be great if someone can upload videos of some of the hard time trials. Silverstone is the one that's giving me a lot of trouble. The closest I got was 1:28.899. And that's 1.3 seconds away from gold. And I did it with brake assist lol. I could not do it w.o brake assist on this map. will keep trying

Do not use brake assist or you will never get it. Just make sure you dont take the turns wide and learn from the ghost car. Check out this thread for some tips especially the post after mine- changing the setup may make it easier. I beat it with the 70/100 default but it did take several attempts and then I just barely beat it by a few hundredths.
