Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 6/10 (Trophy Difficulty Rating), personal estimate: 3/10
  • Offline trophies: 20 (19(B), 1(S))
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: 20hrs+
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 2 (Normal and Dark Matter mode)
  • Number of missable trophies: 0, Level select is available.
  • Glitched trophies: 1, Safety (PS3 only)
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: No
  • Do trophies stack?: No, each game has its own trophy list
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No, none available.

Introduction:

Eufloria (HD) is a real-time-strategy game in a spacy, ambient surrounding where you grow so called "seedlings" which grow on "Dyson trees" to colonize and conquer neighbouring asteroids. As the story progresses, you get access to a few more types of units, but your foes get them as well...

The PS3 game is based on the first version of the game retroactively dubbed Eufloria Classic, also available on different platforms like PC, iOS and Android devices. The game has been revamped as a "HD" version for most of the devices mentioned above, including the PS Vita but unfortunately excluding the PS3. As the support for all Eufloria Classic versions has ceased, the Safety trophy will most likely remain glitched while the HD versions should have this bug fixed.

Apart from this, both versions have nearly identical game play with only minor differences. On the HD version for the Vita:

  • Touch screen controls are the prime input method
  • The level 11 (The vicious ones) has been made easier
  • There are more "lost seeds" to find, the Hero trophy reflects that accordingly (PS3: 600 needed, Vita: 700 needed)

There is no cross-progress or cross-trophy feature implemented, each game has its own trophy list and has to be completed separately to get both 100%.

An important hint:

Asteroid statistics, distances and enemy distribution are somewhat randomized in most levels. If initial conditions are unfortunate (e.g. you start amidst enemies with no asteroid to expand to without major seed loss) don't hesitate to restart, next time you might have better statistics, less enemies around you, free asteroids in reach or even a flower from the very beginning.

Walkthrough:

For detailed info about any level, consult the strategy guide.

Step 1: Complete normal mode

Play level 1-25 in normal mode. If given, fulfill the objective to finish a level early. At the end of this step you should have the following trophies: Starboretum

Step 2: Complete Dark Matter mode

Play level 3-25 in Dark Matter mode. Because you have to conquer every asteroid in every level and you are not hindered by any objectives, this is perfect for collecting all artifacts (see Historian). At the end of this step you should have the following trophies: Illuminator

Step 3: Normal mode speed run

Replay normal mode levels until the accumulated play time is below 10 hours. This should give you the following trophies: Lightsecond and Lightyear most likely as well

Step 4: Clean up

You will have unlocked most of trophies by now (e.g. Martyrdom, Hero, Aggressor, Banzai, Intruder or Historian) so collect the rest.

Trophy Guide

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/01.jpg Starboretum (B)

Complete the main game.

:tagstory:

This trophy will unlock when you finish level 25 'The centre cannot hold' on normal mode. Dark Matter Mode will be available after that.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/02.jpg Illuminator (S)

Complete Dark Matter Mode.

:tagsubsequent:

This trophy will unlock when you finish level 25 'The centre cannot hold' on Dark Matter mode.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/03.jpg Safety (B)

Complete '200' without any of your own trees being destroyed.

:tagglitched:

This has to be done in normal mode. Only advice: defend, defend, defend! Until you have a stable population of seeds: never let your seed count drop too low, equip every asteroid with one or two defense trees, get advanced seedlings as soon as you can. This may require several level restarts, a flower early on is very helpful. Don’t let your guard down, one time I lost a tree seconds before the game ended.

The developers have confirmed that this trophy is glitched on the PS3: LINK

"The bug causes the destroyed tree count not to be reset to zero unless you win a level." It is highly unlikely that this will ever be fixed. The Vita version should not be affected.

Workaround: "Actually you just need to win another level immediately before playing l24" (Thanks to xelnia for pointing this out).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/04.jpg Lightyear (B)

Complete 'The Centre Cannot Hold' within 60 minutes.

You only have to defeat all grey enemies. They're on the two large asteroids and on two tiny ones which you can only reach via the large ones. After about 30-40 minutes you should have conquered enough asteroids around the one of the large ones and have got enough seeds, depending on level settings and your recklessness. The final attack takes only a few minutes. Build up an army, swarm the first large asteroid, take the adjacent small one, stock up your army again on your first large asteroid, you should reach the second from there. Don't forget the second small planet and ignore the rest.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/05.jpg Lightsecond (B)

Complete the campaign in under ten hours.

Tally your times in normal mode manually and replay levels where you took too long to get under 10 hours. Most levels can be finished in around 30min or less, only a few may need more. For a rough estimate take a look at the Eufloria 'Times' thread, There's an enormous margin here. if you add up only the quickest level completion times (at the time of writing), this game is beatable in 9 hours 10 minutes! Therefore concentrate on those levels where your play time differs most.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/06.jpg Pacifism (B)

Complete 'Protection' without destroying anyone else's trees.

Obviously, this has to be done in normal mode. You have two objectives: Defend Greys for ten minutes and don’t destroy any trees. Easiest method: Don't do anything, just sit and wait. If this doesn't work at first, just restart again and again until it does. Sooner or later you will get a setting where the Grey survive by themselves (thanks to archchimaira for this).

I got it the hard way, which doesn't work every time, where I used a combination of two strategies: Flee: Don't build any defence trees near greys, settle on every possible empty asteroid. Flee if attacked by Greys (to keep their number up), either flee or defend if attacked by any other tribe. Hope for the best. Support: Settle on every possible empty asteroid. There are Greys directly to the right. At one time they will move out completely and leave their asteroid unattended. Send in a few of your seeds, build a Dyson tree and retreat. The Grey will return and take it back but now they have a Dyson tree that they wouldn't have built themselves. Defend your position, their Dyson tree should compensate any losses of their attack.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/07.jpg Martyrdom (B)

Attack an enemy asteroid and lose 300 seedlings in the process.

This should come naturally while playing. If it doesn't, then send smaller chunks of weak seeds to a well defended enemy asteroid so you don't risk to wipe them out accidentally. One good place is level 19 'Looking Glass' after conquering the large asteroid to the left or use the strategy described for Stalemate.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/08.jpg Hero (B)

Find over 600 (PS3) / 700 (Vita) of the lost seedlings in the game.

:tagcollectible:

Self explanatory. Just send scouts to all unknown asteroids around. They may find a swarm of your seeds buzzing around an asteroid with or without a tree (e.g. in level 18 'Hide and Seek'). On the PS3 it has been confirmed that there are a total of 630 seeds hidden in different levels, yet I have no precise numbers for the Vita game. The numbers for the levels are (Vita estimates in brackets):

lvl 01: 9

lvl 06: 57

lvl 09: 160 (200?)

lvl 12: 60

lvl 14: 100 (150?)

lvl 17: 49

lvl 18: 72

lvl 20: 123 (140?)

Although the number at the beginning of a level is always the same, there is some variation e.g. An asteroid may get attacked before you can discover it or a Dyson tree adds more seeds. See the strategy guide where to find them in each level.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/09.jpg Aggressor (B)

Attack an enemy asteroid and destroy 200 seedlings in the process.

This should come naturally while playing. Similar to Martyrdom, only this time the number of killed enemy seeds counts.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/10.jpg Traveller (B)

Discover an asteroid using a flower or a mine.

Self explanatory. Instead of a single scout seed, send a flower or a mine to an unknown asteroid.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/11.jpg Panspermia (B)

Send a flower or a mine over 50000 arbitrary distance units.

There's no indication how far "50000 arbitrary distance units" are but sending a flower or a mine form one end to the other in a large level does the trick. If this doesn't seem to work, try again in a different level. On the Vita, I couldn't get it in level 19 'Looking Glass' even though this would be an obvious choice for this trophy but it did work out later on in level 25 'The Centre Cannot Hold'.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/12.jpg Gardener (B)

Gather ten flowers on an asteroid.

This trophy unlocks as soon as 10 flowers orbit around one asteroid. After that you can send them somewhere else and use them regularly. The difficult part is to find a level where you can afford having 10 flowers and not needing them immediately. Any large level like 14 'Liberation' should work as soon as you outnumber your enemy and can still continue building Dyson trees.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/13.jpg Minefield (B)

Gather five mines on an asteroid.

This is similar to Gardener, only with 5 mines.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/14.jpg Attrition (B)

Battle for an enemy asteroid for ten minutes.

See Stalemate

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/15.jpg Besieged (B)

Defend one of your own asteroids continuously for five minutes.

This the opposite of Attrition. I don't know where to get it, it unlocked for me naturally while playing normal mode. If it won't unlock for you wait for being attacked and try prolonging the fight with small reinforcements.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/16.jpg Stalemate (B)

A pitched battle that lasts over 15 minutes and incurs 500 losses between all sides.

To unlock this trophy you have to create a ongoing stream of seedlings, direct it to a well populated enemy asteroid where it continuously diminishes enemies, without killing too many of them. Good place for this is the last level 25 'The centre cannot hold': Once you control the central part, build up a large army and send it around one of the large asteroids, conquering every small surrounding asteroid, then direct their new seeds to the big one next to them. Continue until you did a full circle. Now wait. Stalemate will unlock sooner or later, as well as Martyrdom, Aggressor and Attrition.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/17.jpg Banzai (B)

Destroy ten enemy seedlings using a mine explosion.

If you use mines a lot, this should come naturally while playing. If a mine is destroyed it goes down with an explosion and the larger the yellow energy bar, the bigger the explosion. Just send an average mine (or better) to a densely populated enemy asteroid.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/18.jpg Intruder (B)

Land a beacon seed on an enemy asteroid.

Self explanatory. Direct fresh seeds to an enemy asteroid and once the beacon arrives, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/19.jpg Historian (B)

Record all of the Ancient Artifacts.

:tagcollectible:

In regards to artifacts, there is no difference between normal and dark matter mode so if you missed an artifact on the first playthrough due to mission requirements, then you can get it later in dark matter mode. There are 30 artifacts in all. To find an artifact, slightly zoom in on a scouted asteroid, if there's a odd coloured dot orbiting around it, you have found one. After you planted any tree, fully zoom in on it (PS3) / touch it (Vita) to unlock it. Having lots of seeds on that asteroid makes it difficult to discover an artifact (especially on the Vita) so check whenever you sent a scout or planted a tree.

If for some reason you forgot to collect an artifact and now it is on the only asteroid which you haven't colonized, there is still a way to get it. Send in your seeds as usual. While they are destroying a tree and breaking into the core, fully zoom in onto the artifact and keep it on the screen. As soon as the seeds take over the asteroid, the artifact will unlock (PS3) / you can touch it (Vita), you see the description, you can acknowledge it and the level ends right after that.

Levels can contain up to two artifacts, here's a list of all 30 artifacts and in which level they appear:

  • Level 04: Ovoid 7
  • Level 05: Cubos, Q-Plane
  • Level 06: Bolian Radio
  • Level 07: Celestia Nest
  • Level 08: Amberous, Gersical Void
  • Level 09: Antropian Trap
  • Level 10: Micro Nautilus, Gliesian Mirror
  • Level 11: Geres Cloud Horn, Grower Husk
  • Level 12: Cache 13
  • Level 13: Cache 14
  • Level 14: Auto Vac, Iron Baloon
  • Level 15: Flux Calendar
  • Level 16: Fear Flower
  • Level 17: The Twins
  • Level 18: Guardian
  • Level 19: The Versuvia Tablet, False Witness
  • Level 20: Companions
  • Level 21: The individual
  • Level 22: Zotropic Enhancer, Gravitonastus
  • Level 23: Sensoric Antenna, Protoflora
  • Level 24: Mimic
  • Level 25: ?

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1190/20.jpg Uplift (B)

Terraform an asteroid to maximum attributes.

There are several places to achieve this trophy, either you can unlock it on one large asteroid in level 11 'The Vicious Ones' (PS3 only) or two in Dark Matter level 7 'Containment' where 2 of 3 attributes are already at maximum. Enter the terraforming menu, select the attribute which you want increase and press/drag right until maxed out. Press :cross: / select OK and seedlings start to get absorbed. As soon as the attribute bar is full, the trophy will pop.

Strategy Guide

(The level and location info for lost seeds is valid for both versions, the numbers refer to the PS3 version only)

01. Green shots, 02. Expansion, 03. The Grey, 04. Expansion, 05. The Grey Void

Tutorial, rather straightforward.

Lost seeds: 9 in 01, part of the tutorial.

06. Forest

Lots of asteroids with 4 defense trees, use only fast seeds to move to every next free asteroid, the slow ones won’t make it. Build an army to get the large asteroid to the left. Dark matter mode: you have to conquer all asteroids one by one with really large armies as the asteroids are without enemies but very well defended. This will take some time.

Lost seeds: 57 on the 3 asteroids before the final one.

07. Containment

Your initial number of seeds isn't sufficient for direct attack on the planet to the left. Therefore expand to the right, get all asteroids, build up an army and conquer the large asteroid to the left, you need a quite large number for breaking into the core and defend it for a while. After you get it, just move to the remaining asteroids on the left.

08. Fight or Flight

There's nothing fancy here, turn left for fast seeds, turn right for strong ones. Just go one way, leave your start asteroid alone so you can build up a second army to go the other way as well. Both armies should meet at the top.

09. Critical Mass

Nothing difficult here. Go up and right until you find a large asteroid in the centre. Conquer 2 or 3 smaller ones around it and build up an army. When you attack the large asteroid, the yellow tribe will most likely attack it as well so be prepared. After you got the large asteroid, send scouts to the very top and bottom to find lost seedlings, and continue as usual.

Lost seeds: 160, above and below the large asteroid in the center.

10. Quantum Leap

Settle on smaller asteroids before attacking larger ones. You get mines when you conquer that small asteroid right in the centre. Swarm everything else, no real challenge. In normal mode the level ends as soon as you have control over all large asteroids.

11. The Vicious Ones

PS3:

That title is an understatement. So far levels were quite easy, but this one will hit you hard. You start amidst lots of well defended enemy asteroids, they outnumber you, they swarm you with mines and you have nearly no opportunity to build up your seed count.

Your objective is to conquer an asteroid with Greys in the upper left corner but the path to it is blocked by many yellow asteroids so before you can get there, you have to conquer most (if not all) of them. Basically you should get them out of your back so that you only have one front line. Move down, right or up (whatever seems best) to reach the edge of the map and slowly expand your territory until you can reach the grey asteroid. You need to conquer about three quarters of all asteroids until you gain superiority, this will take 40 to 60 minutes minimum (depending on map settings)!

Some general hints:

  • Mines are essential here. Plant at least one defense tree on asteroids that are on your front line, this will hinder your population growth but defense is more important. Send out mines to populated asteroids to disrupt seed production, just like the enemy does.
  • If an enemy mine approaches one of your asteroids with a lot of seeds, retreat your seeds and do something useful with them rather than letting them being killed in vain. A single mine might destroy a tree after a while but it cannot conquer an asteroid by itself.
  • Don’t leave asteroids unguarded which are within enemy reach, they will attack nearly continuously, wherever there’s a weakness in your defense line.

Vita:

In comparison, this is ridiculously easy. You start with two asteroids in the upper third of a small vertical cluster. Get mines as soon as you can to help you to secure the upper part, then slowly work your way towards the lower left where some Greys reside.

12. One Hundred

If you want a mine then defend your first asteroid as you might not get a chance to plant another defence tree, because there's a limit of one tree per asteroid. If you get swarmed heavily, better cancel and restart. Slowly expand down on the map, the second asteroid to the left has some lost seedlings. Don't attack asteroids with defence trees at first because this will cost you too much seeds. Get a mine as quick as you can, this will help conquering populated asteroids. When the lower half of the map is yours, move up and get the rest. The level is finished when you have conquered all asteroids.

Lost seeds: 60 on a single asteroid on the lower left. The actual number can be lower if it gets attacked before you reach it.

13. The Stand

Plant a second defense tree on your start asteroid. Get a mine as soon as possible to aid to defend your asteroid. Very slowly expand up and left, don't let your seed count drop too low. Remember to plant an occasional defense tree to get access to more mines. When you control the left half, start to counter-attack. Having a few mines helps a lot.

14. Liberation

In this level the asteroids are arranged in a large circle, you start at 12 o'clock, your destination are three asteroids at 6 o'clock. The most difficult part is the start. Sometimes you can have 2 neighbouring asteroids in reach, sometimes even 5 and sometimes empty sometimes well defended. If you have a problem here, restart. Secure the top area and go down on one side to the bottom (you can go down on both sides if you are looking for the artifact or don’t care for the time). On the first asteroid above the 6 o'clock position you will find advanced lost seeds, with them you should get the final two asteroids above them to finish the level.

Lost seeds: 100, right before the end of this level where you find the advanced seeds. There could be a few more, this asteroid has Dyson trees and can defend itself well until you reach it.

15. Cluster

Rather straightforward again. Move down, have enough seeds before attacking the large asteroid. Once you got that, swarm the rest without much resistance.

16. Containment II

Surviving the first minutes is the hardest part. You start with two asteroids, one on the left with advanced seeds and a defense tree and one to the right with normal seeds, one defense tree, three Dyson trees and two flowers. Between them lays an enemy asteroid with several defense trees. After a short while you will be swarmed by blue seeds from the left and some grey from the right will most likely attack as well.

Use one flower for a mine and the other for advanced seeds. If somebody sends you a mine better restart right away, we need every seed. Green will attack the asteroid between yours, right when they destroyed a tree use this opportunity to move your advanced seeds to your right asteroid, this minimizes casualties. Send a few more than 10 normal seeds to the grey asteroid to the right and plant a Dyson tree. Grey will attack and destroy it but with a bit of luck grey won’t have enough seeds to break into the core. They have no Dyson tree, so this will take care of most of the greys. Now you will be swarmed by more than 100 normal blue seeds. Your mine and the seeds on your asteroid should barely be sufficient to defend your asteroid. If you succeeded then continue as usual: Conquer the asteroids to the right, there may some stray greys left. Build up an army and slowly move to the left and take one asteroid after another.

17. Protection

See the Guide for Pacifism.

Lost seeds: 49, half of them on two asteroids at the top, the other half on one in the lower left.

18. Hide And Seek

Prepare to move all seeds to the asteroid in the upper right corner. When all brown seeds start to move in, move yours as well, don't wait for the notification, that would be to late. Immediately build two defense trees, send a scout to the small asteroid up right, find some lost seeds and move all of them back to your new home. Build one Dyson tree. If you get flowers, build a mine, then advanced seeds. Brown will attack again, but you should barely defend your asteroid. Then send your mine (if you have one) repeatedly to every large asteroid. The explosion when it is destroyed will kill quit a few seeds. Plant Dyson trees when you can afford it.

When green in the down right corner moves all seeds to attack someone else, send about 10 seeds to its asteroid, and when they arrive, instantly send them to the smaller one behind it to find more lost seeds. Use them to attack and conquer green's (hopefully still deserted) asteroid. Your situation now should be secure enough to continue as usual. There are some more lost seeds to the left.

Lost seeds: 72, on the small asteroids in every corner.

19. Looking Glass

Not too difficult. Settle on all smaller asteroids, conquer the large one, send scouts to the right, build up and jump over. Try to get advanced seeds with good stats and don’t waste your time, otherwise swarms may come from the right. Good chance to get Uplift.

20. Badlands

Not as difficult as it looks. Lots of lost seeds scattered around, asteroids where you can’t plant trees and most important: the greys don't have any Dyson trees. Scout around and get lost seeds, defend your positions, make advanced seeds and try to reduce the greys. If you want to collect seeds, do that on a useless asteroid so they don't block your production. Ignore enemy asteroids with a defense tree but no seeds, they can’t harm you. If you have the chance, plant a defense tree and get a mine. Dark Matter mode is different, here you can plant trees on every asteroid. Likewise, kill all enemy seeds, then conquer every asteroid.

Lost seeds: 123, scattered around everywhere so there's no real need to hurry.

21. Event Horizon

Settle on every asteroid except on the large one in the upper left. If you attack it then about 150 very strong seeds will counter-attack from another asteroid further up, they will stay on this asteroid but it will take some time to kill them all. While it is possible to conquer it with advanced seeds only, the quickest way to deal with them is to spam it with mines. Save 3-5 flowers, plant defense trees on asteroids close to the swarmed one, preferably those with high energy values. Use the flowers to get mines and spam away. The level will be pretty much completed when you conquered that asteroid because most likely there won’t be much more than two lonesome defense trees on the second one.

22. Solar Flare

This is a level where initial settings can differ greatly, therefore there’s no strategy for all cases. You start on two asteroids in the middle of a somewhat vertical cluster. With good luck you have an opportunity to settle on one or two more asteroids with good properties, and can colonize one asteroid by one with advanced seeds. With bad luck you start between three other tribes which have nothing better to do than swarm you. Again, if they give you a hard time then it's better to restart.

23. Collision Course

Asteroids are arranged in two overlapping circles. With the help of advanced seeds and maybe a mine secure the area where the circles overlap, then conquer one circle after the other.

Amazing guide so far, but I can't seem to finish the first 10 minutes of level 16.

Once ~150 blue seeds come after me, my 45-50 seeds + 1 mine get destroyed in seconds.

Am I supposed to have 5 trees on this asteroid (4 when you start)?

No, IIRC you can't afford that at the beginning.

The key is that all of your advanced seeds need to be on the right asteroid when blue attacks, don't waste them for a tree or an attack. Did you get two flowers at the beginning and used them on that asteroid for a mine and advanced seeds?

I took over the green infested asteroid right after they destroyed a tree too.

This doesn't seem right. The intention is to send your advanced seeds past that asteroid in the middle, not attacking it. Just use the opportunity to sneak past when the defence trees on that asteroid are already busy fighting against green and might ignore you. You need as much advanced seeds as possible to fend of blue, and even then it might be very close...

  • 2 months later...

Difficult to say as very few play Eufloria and even less try to finish it. psnprofiles.org mentioned only a total of 7 (!) people who reached 100%... (unfortunately their stats are currently out of order)

According to this there seem to be a few glitches, but it also mentions that there might be some of your trees on the outskirts of this level which get destroyed if not attended to... I haven't played it in a while so I can't tell from memory right now.

Edit: Got 'Protection' mixed up with 'Safety' again...

ok i just got it last night and here is how i did it,...

you mentioned moving to other asteroids and scouting the area to discover other greys. i did this many times and it did not work.

my advice, start the level and do NOTHING. absolutely nothing. just sit there. dont relocate, dont send any scouts. the only thing you need to do it just hit x when the dialog boxes pop up.

also thanks a bunch for the guide, i can imagine these things are hard to create, and id like to thank you for your effort :)

Thanks for the tip, I'll will test it and add it to the guide...

Thanks, you're welcome. Frankly I had good fun creating this guide, even though it took quite some time because I had to replay nearly all levels several times to get some useful strategies. I have to admit that it looks kind of bland and it has an unbalanced difficulty, but I saw this game and really got into it, it's a pity that only few people give it a try, let alone finish it...

Edit: I've tried it and it works. Not at first though, I got it on the third attempt. But this was to be expected as each level restart is slightly randomized. I'll add it to the guide...
