Intro:

The latest in the Dynasty Warriors series, this is the expansion to Dynasty Warriors 7, which was a great hack and slash game that fixed a lot of what made Dynasty Warriors 6 bad. This expansion adds 3 new characters (Pang De, Wang Yi, and Guo Jia), as well as a new Legend mode. If you have a save from Dynasty Warriors 7, you can import it before starting this game to keep all your previous progress, such as stat points, skill points, weapons, and money. DW7 never had any level difficulty requirements, but DW7XL does, and even adds a new Nightmare difficulty to the mix. If you have your DW7 disc, you can also use the Remix option to use all your upgraded DW7XL characters in DW7's conquest mode!

Roadmap:

Step 1: Start a new game in Legend mode. Not all stages are available at the start, so aim to clear them all and they will continue to unlock for you. At this point, difficulty does not matter. If you have strong characters from an imported DW7 save (and why wouldn't you?), then you may wish to start on Chaos and earn each secret weapon, but it is unimportant, since you'll need to play 1000 stages anyway. Once you clear the first 8 stages, you'll unlock titles. If your characters are strong enough, you can try for some of those as well on the way, but again, it makes no difference. Pick an adjutant, and talk to them every time you clear a stage. When the mood of the town turns Friendly, talk to them again to receive a scroll, and then switch to someone new. When the merchant arrives, make sure you're sending him to areas that have ??? items. Just focus on getting all levels cleared once. Buy all weapons available from the blacksmith whenever you see new ones. After doing this, you should have unlocked:

Up for a Challenge (B)

Savvy Politician (B)

Always Thinking (B)

Trader (B)

Imperial Protector (S)

Decorated Officer (B)

Connossieur (B)

Step 1a: Go through the 4 different Challenge stages and aim to get first place in all of them. This gets you:

Rampage (B)

Bridge Melee (B)

Speed Run (B)

Arena (B)

Champion (B)

King of the Hill (B)

First Past the Post (B)

Gladiator (B)

Best of the Best (S)

Step 2: Clear all stages on Chaos difficulty and fulfill the requirements for earning the Secret weapon in each stage. This will earn you:

Anarchist (B)

Breaker of Bedlam (B)

Master of Chaos (S)

Step 3: If you have not already done so, use the Strategist to max out a character, and then repeat step 2 on Nightmare mode. This will earn you:

Sleepwalker (B)

Survivor (B)

Legendary Warrior (S)

Step 4: Go back and aim for the 1000 siege weapon kills and the 1000/3000 kills in a single level if you don't have them already, and grind out the devotion lines and titles. If you've been diligent with the Merchant, you should have all his items, but if not, grind those out as well. If you bought all the weapons from the Weapons Dealer and got everything from the Merchant, you should have all the weapons once you finish Step 3, but otherwise work on those as well. The last trophy you earn will definitely be the 1000 levels trophy, and that should earn you a nice new platinum!

General tips for playing on higher difficulties:

* For Chaos mode, you will want your attack and defense to be around 500+ with a decent weapon, but otherwise there's no real problem.

* For Nightmare, you will want to have at least 600-700 health and 950-1100 att/def and have good seals on your weapons. You will also want to get most of your character's titles. One of them (varies per person) gets you life back per hit with a certain type of weapon (usually a Speed type weapon or an EX-enabled weapon), so you may want to keep one of those equipped as backup. Recommended seals would be Elemental Attack Up, Double Element (if your weapons have different elements), Synergy (if they are the same element), Officer Assassin, and Attack Range Up. Optional seals per preference are Combat Resistance if you get hit a lot and Walking Speed Up.

* Enemies are going to start blocking a LOT, and you'll want to know how to get around that for faster and safer kills. A single :triangle: move from most weapons will break guard, but you might also try moves such as the Sword's :square::square::triangle::triangle::triangle: move that breaks guard on completion, or the Halberd's :square::square::square::square::triangle: move, which is an unblockable grab. Alternatively, you can try using a fast Speed weapon such as the sword, comboing into an enemy's guard, and then jump canceling behind them and attacking their back quickly... or simply use a musou with unblockable damage such as Lu Bu's musou 2 or Da Qiao's musou 2.

* Don't be afraid to spam your musou! You'll get meter back quickly by attacking a crowd. In cases where your musou has so much cooldown time that you get killed immediately after finishing, you may wish to run away and use it at the edges of crowds instead of in the middle, and with a weapon that regenerates health.

True Warrior of the Three Kingdoms (P)

Obtained all trophies.

Self-explanatory.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/02.jpg

Army of One (B)

Defeated 1000 enemies in one Legend Mode battle.

Pretty much any larger level will get you 1000+ KOs without any effort. You'll get this easily through normal play.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/03.jpg

Unrivaled Warrior (B)

Defeated 3000 enemies in one Legend Mode battle.

If you do this the hard way, then bases with Defense Captains and base points on edges of maps have enemies that respawn if you don't kill everyone there. A good level for this method is Wu Zhang - Wei.

However, some levels have infinite spawn points for normal enemies.

If you are worried about accidently killing the Defense Captains (which I'm sure everyone who has played the game will know is easily done) you can do this on Diao Chan's level, The Assassination of Dong Zhuo. There is an infinite spawn of enemies from the bottom left corner of the map, and as long as you haven't opened the door to Dong Zhuo the other NPC won't be killed whilst you are doing this.

Thanks Tsunami!

Another possible level is Fan Castle Wu.

slight change in that, it is completely possible to do it this way because Guan Yu (in Battle of Fan Castle Wu) will not die unless it is by YOUR hand, i.e. if you have the other members of wu taking care of Guan Yu and keeping him out of your way and use a ranged character like Wang Yuanji of jin or Lian Shi of wu, etc then it is easy to get the 3000 kills in this level

Thanks Handz19!

The Merchant began trading in Legend Mode.

Unlocks once you clear Campaign against the Yuans, the sixth stage in the second tier of stages.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/08.jpg

Master Trader (B)

Obtained all trade goods in Legend Mode.

Once the merchant appears, you have a choice to send him to one of various provinces. When you successfully complete a stage and come back to him, he will have found items for you. He can find Treasures (sold for money), Animals (you can equip these from the pause menu), or Weapons (these weapons are not obtainable by any other method). He can only get 1 new item at a time, and it's completely random if he even gets a new item at all. You can see which ones you are missing because the names will be a ???. When you've gotten every item from every province, you'll get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/09.jpg

Imperial Protector (S)

Welcomed the Emperor to the castle in Legend Mode.

Once you complete Battle of Mt Qi (seventh stage in the fourth tier of stages), a popup will appear saying that your next battle will bring the emperor to your town. Once you clear any level AFTER that one (Wu Zhang either side or any stage from the fifth tier), a cutscene will play where the emperor thanks you, and the trophy will unlock.

Heard all characters' devotion lines in Legend Mode.

After you've chosen an Adjutant (the person you choose gets stat points slowly as you play levels, but otherwise serves no purpose other than moral support) and clear 6 stages with them, then after every stage you clear you have a 15% chance of the town's atmosphere changing to Friendly (purple). Until then, it will switch between Carefree (blue) and Orderly (green). Once it's Friendly, talk to the Adjutant and they will say something about how close friends you are (or how much they are in love with you if you're the opposite gender), and give you a random skill point book. You can see the atmosphere of your town in the upper left corner of the screen. Once you've heard their line and seen the unlock message, you are free to change to the next person.

When you have cleared all stages in Legend mode, a voice section of the gallery will unlock and you'll be able to see which characters you have unlocked devotion lines for in their Voice section under Adjutant.

***BE CAREFUL*** If you hear someone's devotion lines, and then exit Legend Mode without saving, they will show up in the gallery, but they WILL NOT count for the trophy. You'll have to get them to Friendly all over again, but there is no way to know specifically who you are missing. Save frequently and be careful!

Lord of the Three Kingdoms (G)

All characters awarded top Title.

There are 8 titles for each character. You unlock your first after clearing any 4 stages, and the next 4 by clearing more stages in each tier. The final 3 titles are unlocked once you've welcomed the emperor to your town.

You must then earn the titles 1 by 1 for each character by playing any stage that meets the star/difficulty requirement and fulfilling the kill requirement. They usually ask you to kill a certain number of enemies or officers, sometimes with a required life amount, or without musou, or in a certain amount of time, etc. The first 5 titles are easy to get since you can play on Beginner, but the three after the emperor appears get trickier. They require Hard, then Chaos, then Nightmare levels of varying stars and varying requirements. You'll have to complete all title requirements 1 stage at a time for every character for this. There is no need to start a new Legend Mode, you can just keep going from your save and switch characters from the menu.

When you earn someone's 6th title (Hard or higher difficulty), you'll unlock Rising Dragon. When you earn their 8th title (Nightmare difficulty), you'll unlock War Hero. After that, it's just a matter of earning that 8th title on all 65 characters.

Recommended quick levels for title grinding:

For the first 2 titles try Guan Yu's Escape, Cao Cao's side (3 stars).

For all the rest, try any of these: Baidi Castle Wu (6 stars), Showdown at Nanzhong (6 stars), Conflict at Nanzhong (7 stars), Battle of Mt Qi (8 stars), Wu Zhang Wei (8 stars), Battle of Taoyang (10 stars).

These levels are straightforward without unnecessary events to complicate the run. Of course, since you're going to be doing it so many times, experiment with which stages you like and mix it up a bit.

Special note:

While everyone generally has the same requirements for their titles, Lu Bu's final title is a league above in difficulty. You must play a 10 star level in Nightmare, and get 1000 kills while maintaining 70% hp and cannot use musou. This is not easy, but there's a few tips:

- I recommend Battle of Taoyang for relative simplicity of level

- To kill archers, try running at them diagonally so that their arrows miss you, taking a bunch of swings into the middle of them to kill as many as you can safely, and then running away. If you turn the camera away from them, there's little to no chance of getting hit by stray shots as well.

- Make absolutely sure you bring a weapon that enables life regain. Since this is nightmare mode, even 1 or 2 hits is enough to take you below 70%, but for any small hits you take, you'll want to be sure you can heal it.

- Save frequently!!! Every time you kill 50-100 guys without taking damage, run away to a corner and save. This helps prevent accidents.

- It's been mentioned that you can use a 2P trick to do this - have the second player run ahead and kill the generals to wipe out their morale so that Lu Bu can waltz through enemies easier.

Legendary Warrior (S)

Acquired all Secret Weapons at Nightmare difficulty level.

Likely the hardest trophy of the game unless you have 2 people. Each of the 46 levels has a Secret Weapon requirement in the pause menu at Chaos/Nightmare difficulties. However, since there are only 42 weapon types, some levels don't have a Weapon on a certain difficulty. The four that do not have one on Chaos are: Hu Lao Gate Lu Bu's Forces, and Battle of Fan Castle for all 3 factions. The four for Nightmare are Hu Lao Gate Allied Forces, Battle of Wu Jun Castle Allied Forces, and Guan Yu's Escape for both sides. You can check on your progress from the level select screen by hitting :triangle: on each stage name.

Fulfill the requirements for the weapon, and it will unlock for use immediately during the level. The requirements are generally straightforward, and are usually quite loose on time requirements as long as you don't dally too much. In Nightmare, even if you kill semi-slowly, you still usually have time to kill every general on the way, but you still need to move fast and skip as many peons as you can. You may need to use the map to find out exactly where your target officer(s) are. A co-op partner is very helpful since some of the Nightmare weapons require you to be in several places at once. If you're required to have a general stay alive, you can try playing as that general (doesn't work in all stages).

You cannot earn Nightmare weapons until you have cleared every stage on Chaos difficulty, and a popup will show saying that they are available to earn when you get back to town after clearing the last level on Chaos.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/29.jpg

Weapons Master (G)

Acquired all weapons available in Legend Mode.

There's no Conquest mode here, so you can simply buy most of the weapons from the Weapons Dealer - the first few are available when you begin Legend mode, and the rest become available later. If you need Smithing, you can simply switch to one of the characters with it - Lu Meng, Zhuge Liang, or Guo Huai. The lower level weapons can also be randomly dropped from enemy generals. The rest of the weapons are obtained from the Merchant or are Secret weapons in the Chaos/Nightmare levels. This unlocks when you've got every non DLC weapon.

Alternatively, if you remix your game, you can go ahead and buy the first few weapons from Conquest Mode if you so desire.

Connoisseur (B)

Viewed all events available in Legend Mode.

Certain levels have an event or movie either before or after you complete it. This unlocks once you've seen all of them. If you clear every stage in Legend mode once, you'll definitely get this.

*BE CAREFUL* If you start one of the stages with a movie in it with 2 players, you won't see the movie and it won't unlock in the gallery. If you missed one, here are the stages with events and movies that you can play to fill in the missing one.

Events:

Classicist (B)

Cleared all Classic stages in Legend Mode.

Classic stages are the ones that say that they come from previous Dynasty Warriors games. You'll unlock this by completing all of them once - there are 17 of them.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/32.jpg

Legendary Hero (B)

Cleared all Legendary Hero stages in Legend Mode.

Legendary Hero stages are the ones with a recommended hero (the name/face in the lower right of the stage select screen). Clear all these stages once (there's 29 of them) and you'll get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/33.jpg

Home Decorator (B)

Obtained wallpapers 1 and 2 for Pang De, Wang Yi and Guo Jia.

In DW7XL, only 3 people have wallpapers to unlock (but you can get access to the rest by remixing your game). Their wallpaper 1 is obtained by completing any 1 stage with them in Legend Mode, and wallpaper 2 is obtained by earning their second title. Once you've unlocked the Counselor and titles, simply switch to each character and complete the requirements for the title. You'll unlock this when all 3 have unlocked both wallpapers.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/34.jpg

Millionaire (B)

Obtained a total of more than 1 million gold over the course of the game.

This will occur naturally as you play the game, especially since you'll be spending a lot of time in Chaos/Nightmare. You don't need to have 1 million at once, the game will keep count for you. In fact, you can only hold 999999 gold at one time!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/35.jpg

Battle-hardened Veteran (S)

Cleared stages over 1000 times.

The major grind of this game. Repeatedly clear stages for this trophy. Unfortunately, there's no way to check how many levels you have cleared, so keep at it. The fastest level is likely Guan Yu's Escape, Cao Cao side, as it can be cleared in under 20 seconds.

Bear in mind that even if you took it slowly on earning titles and gaining weapons, you've only played 65*7 = 455 stages for titles, and 42*2 = 84 stages for weapons. That's only 539, and you still need 461 more! You're in for the long haul here.

HOWEVER, if you have a turbo controller and the DW7 disc, this trophy can be automated! Remix your game, set your :cross: button to normal attack in settings, and then go to Conquest mode and choose the level Battle for Qing Province (lower right of the map, above the Qing city). In this battle, it's a 1v1 vs Taishi Ci, and he runs at you. If you spam :cross:, you will take him out in a couple hits, zoom through the results, then pick the stage again and repeat the process. Each run takes about a minute including loading, so you're looking at at least 5 hours of this, but with a turbo controller you can simply leave it on overnight.

Perfection (B)

Maxed out the growth parameters of a single character.

Once you've unlocked the Strategist, you can buy books to increase a character's parameters for 2100-4800 gold a piece. When the town's atmosphere is Carefree, the books are 30% cheaper than in Orderly or Friendly, so you may wish to wait until the town is Carefree until buying if you're strapped for money (you could always just switch your Adjutant, but this will reset their progress towards Friendly atmosphere and devotion lines). The books give Health+10, Att+14, Def+14, Speed+10, Power+10, or Skill Points+300, and the numbers on the Strategist's screen indicate your base parameters. Once you have 1000 health, 1400 att, 1400 def, 100 speed, and 100 power on the base parameters screen, this trophy will unlock. As an added bonus, having your speed and power at 100 allow you to use every single weapon at max proficiency!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/37.jpg

Into Chaos (B)

Cleared a Legend Mode scenario at the Chaos difficulty level.

Simply clear any stage on Chaos difficulty. This will be rough without a decently leveled character.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/38.jpg

The Nightmare Begins (B)

Cleared a Legend Mode scenario at the Nightmare difficulty level.

Clear any stage on Nightmare difficulty. You will want to use a maxed or near maxed character for this to maximize your chance of survival.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/39.jpg

Siege Weapon Master (B)

Defeated 1000 enemies using a siege weapon.

Siege weapons are the catapults, ballista, and pyrocannons that you can ride and kill people with. There are only a few levels with them - Defense of Xuan Castle, Campaign against Liu Bei, and Battle of Taoyang. Battle of Taoyang lets you ride a Pyrocannon or fire a Ballista, and is by far the easiest to get a lot of kills in. Get 1000 kills with the siege weapons (multiple level plays ok) and you'll unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/40.jpg

Black Belt (B)

Executed a combo involving Normal, Strong, EX, and Musou 1 Attacks and a Weapon Switch.

You simply need an EX move (every character has their own special EX move with a particular weapon that activates on a specific combo - for example, Da Qiao with any Iron Fan gets an EX move on :square::square::square::triangle::triangle: where she throws down a huge fireball), a Strong move with :triangle:, a Weapon Switch with :r1:, and a musou 1 attack with :circle: in one combo. The Strong move is included in the EX move. The enemy need not be alive throughout the whole combo, but it must be a single combo where the combo counter stays for the whole sequence.

An example combo might be Da Qiao with her Iron Fans. Start with the Fans and do :square::square::square::triangle::triangle: (EX), then once that finishes, do :r1: (switch), and once the fan connects, immediately hit :circle: (musou 1). However, you can use any character with their EX weapon, and invent a combo that works.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1274/41.jpg

Martial Artist (B)

Achieved 5 consecutive growth item power-ups by executing combos.

When you kill an officer with an 8 or higher combo, the item they drop goes up a level - for example, if it was meant to be an attack+1, it will be a +2. Do this to 5 officers in a row to get this trophy. Most weapons can get 8 hits just from using repeated :square::square::triangle: combos, but easier ones to try are the Sword (:square::square::triangle::triangle:... is an 8 hit combo with a wide hitbox) or Halberd (:square::square::square::square::triangle: is a command grab with 11 or so hits, or :square::square::square::square::square::triangle: is an string with 12+ hits). Or you can simply use a musou with high hit count. You can continue to combo officers after they are dead until they hit the ground.

Champion (B)

Attained first place in the rankings for Rampage in Challenge Mode.

To get first place, you'll need over 2500 kills (or 2700 with co-op). Proceed with killing enemies as normal, and at certain intervals, Lu Bu will spawn. When he spawns, immediately kill him and a ton of enemies will spawn. After killing him 3-4 times, you should have enough kills for the trophy. Anybody with a decent crowd clearing weapon will work, but you'll want a fast musou with high damage to take Lu Bu out quickly to maximize kills.

King of the Hill (B)

Attained first place in the rankings for Bridge Melee in Challenge Mode.

To get first place, you'll need to kill 1000 enemies within the time limit (1100 with co-op). After every few waves, Lu Bu will appear, and when you kill him, a lot of enemies will spawn. To kill him quickly, find a special move or musou that knocks him off the bridge - I used Guan Yu's musou 2. Any character with a decent crowd clearing weapon will work, but make sure you don't use someone who moves around a lot in their moveset or you may fall off too.

First Past the Post (B)

Attained first place in the rankings for Speed Run in Challenge Mode.

To get first place, you need to kill the final gate general within 3 minutes. You can skip all other generals on the way, as long as you kill the one standing in front of each gate. Any time you activate an EX move, you will earn a speed up bonus for 30 seconds. While this can be earned with anyone with practice, I recommend Sun Ce. His EX move with tonfas (:square::square::square::square::triangle: :triangle: ) kills the first 2-3 generals, and following it up with a quick musou 1 will kill any of the rest with enough time left on the speed bonus to get to the next general. There are 5 gate generals in all to kill.

Gladiator (B)

Attained first place in the rankings for Arena in Challenge Mode.

To get first place, you will need over 60 kills (80 with co-op). Generals start coming 1 at a time, then 2, then 3, then 4. By the time you get to around 60, they will come 5 at a time. Practice with your preferred character and this should be cake.

Best of the Best (S)

Attained first place in the rankings for all Challenge Mode courses.

Unlocks when you have earned Champion, King of the Hill, First Past the Post, and Gladiator.

Siege Weapon Master (B)

Defeated 1000 enemies using a siege weapon.

There are only 2 levels with siege weapons. Campaign against Liu Bei lets you use a catapult, and Campaign against Zhong Hui lets you ride a Pyrocannon or fire a Ballista. Get 1000 kills with them (multiple level plays ok) and you'll unlock this trophy.

There are a few other levels with seige weapons, such as Zhou Tai's defense of Xuan Castle (Though at most you can get about 30 kills with that weapon). The easiest place I found for the trophy though was the second to last level, Battle of Taoyang with Xiahou Ba. There are 2 ballista and a pyrocannon you can use. Plus there are infinite enemies unless you kill certain officers and seal their entrance path.

Whoops, I got Battle of Taoyang mixed up with Campaign against Zhong Hui. Probably because Zhong Hui's right at the beginning of Taoyang and he annoys me. :) Fixed, thanks.

I just played Xuan Castle again, and I never even noticed those ballista were there... The 2 I mentioned are ones where they actively tell you about them... or maybe I just wasn't paying attention.

Great guide! but a few things.

Perfection

Maxed out the growth parameters of a single character.

(Speed/Power may not be required, can anyone confirm?)

You do need max speed/power I checked with my sub account.

Legendary Hero

Cleared all Legendary Hero stages in Legend Mode.

Every stage with a secret weapon is considered a Legendary Hero stage. Once you've cleared all stages at least once, you'll get this trophy.

Not right. The Legendary hero stages are the levels with a recommended character like the first stage being Zhang Jiao's. Stages like DW6 Hu Lao Gate is a classic stage but still has its own secret weapons.

Weapons Master

Acquired all weapons available in Legend Mode.

There's no Conquest mode here, so you can buy most of the weapons from the Blacksmith. If you need Smithing, you can simply switch to one of the characters with it - Lu Meng, Zhuge Liang, or Guo Huai. I didn't notice a 20% discount this time though. The rest of the weapons are obtained from the Merchant or are Secret weapons in the Chaos/Nightmare levels. This unlocks when you've got every non DLC weapon.

If you remix DW7 and play conquest mode you can buy all but the 7th weapon for the 6 new weapons from the weapon dealer right away instead of waiting for them to become available in legend mode.

Legendary Warrior

You cannot earn Nightmare weapons until you have earned every Chaos weapon, and a popup will show saying that they are available to earn when you get back to town after earning the last Chaos weapon.

Not true. You need to complete every stage on chaos difficulty to be able to get nightmare weapons. I got all chaos weapons but the popup didn't appear till I completed Wang Yi's, Meng Huo and Ding Feng's stages on chaos difficulty (I got those chaos weapons on nightmare difficulty when I was getting final titles)

Savvy Politician

The Counselor began work in Legend Mode.

Unlocks as soon as you finish the first tier of stages in Legend mode - the final level in this tier is Battle of Wu Jun. You can clear either version, it doesn't matter.

Always Thinking

The Strategist appeared in Legend Mode.

Unlocks as soon as you finish the second tier of stages in Legend mode - the final level is Battle of Tong Gate.

Trader

The Merchant began trading in Legend Mode.

Unlocks as soon as you finish the third tier of stages in Legend mode - the final level is Battle of Baidi Castle. Again, either version is ok.

Imperial Protector

Welcomed the Emperor to the castle in Legend Mode.

Unlocks once you complete the fourth tier of stages in Legend Mode - the final level is Battle of Mt Qi.

You can get these trophies in only 6 stages minimum. You only need to complete the last stage of each unlocked section. So in this order: Dong Zhuo - Yuan Shao - Guo Jia - Cao Ren - Wei Yan - Any stage you want after your adjutant says you should help the Emperor (I guess. The first time I got the Imperial Protector trophy was after I did DW5 Wu Zhang plains and on my sub account I got it after I did Liu Shan's stage without doing any other stages inbetween). This is the fastest way to get the legend mode trophies.

Hopes this helps.

I was thinking about that, actually. I figured I had it right when I was going through on Chaos, but then the levels with weapons changed up a bit in Nightmare, so I wasn't so sure anymore. Thing is, doesn't every stage have a recommended person though? I'll check that in a bit.

If you remix DW7 and play conquest mode you can buy all but the 7th weapon for the 6 new weapons from the weapon dealer right away instead of waiting for them to become available in legend mode.

Actually, when I started Legend mode without any remixing, I was already able to buy those first 6 weapons (that's where I was so happy that I had 500k saved up after finishing DW7). The final 5 or so didn't unlock until later on. It was the second set that I needed Smithing for.

Fair enough. I made sure to get every weapon during my Chaos runs, so I didn't know you only needed to complete them on Chaos to move on.

This I knew, but figured that anyone going for the trophies would be clearing every stage anyway, especially since they are required and unlocking them faster doesn't actually save any time. Also, the last stage of each tier doesn't unlock until you clear the stage before it, so you need more than 6 stages.

The classic stages (The ones from DW3, DW5 and DW6) don't have a recommended character and some stages have a character that share an EX weapon. Like the 2 Qiao's on their stages you can unlock the chaos iron fan on Xiao Qiao's and the nightmare iron fan on Da Qiao's (The other weapons being the Feather Fan. Chaos on Da's, nightmare on Xiao's.) but both of their stages count as separate legendary hero stages.

Actually, when I started Legend mode without any remixing, I was already able to buy those first 6 weapons (that's where I was so happy that I had 500k saved up after finishing DW7). The final 5 or so didn't unlock until later on. It was the second set that I needed Smithing for.

When I started my sub account (which I got the platinum with while waiting for XL) one (Just to confirm a few things like the perfectionist trophy requirements) I could only buy the first three weapons of each type at the start of legend mode. But with the remix on conquest mode I could buy all but the 7th and chaos/nightmare weapons. I figured it was a good tip to get fairly powerful variations of the new weapons right away if you have the ingame money and DW7 of course.

Fair enough. I made sure to get every weapon during my Chaos runs, so I didn't know you only needed to complete them on Chaos to move on.

I don't know for certain if you only have to complete each stage on chaos to be able to get the nightmare weapons (Though that is what it says ingame on the nightmare weapon descriptions before your able to get them) or if you need to get all the chaos weapons as well. But chaos weapons are a must have when your playing nightmare difficulty.

This I knew, but figured that anyone going for the trophies would be clearing every stage anyway, especially since they are required and unlocking them faster doesn't actually save any time. Also, the last stage of each tier doesn't unlock until you clear the stage before it, so you need more than 6 stages.

I got the Imperial protector trophy after only 6 battles because Dong Zhuo's unlocks all the stages upto Yuan Shao's, Yuan Shao's unlocks all stages upto Guo Jia's (You don't need to complete the last stage of each page to go onto the next page), complete Guo Jia's you unlock all the stages upto Cao Ren's then complete his stage to unlock all the stages upto Wei Yan. Complete Wei Yan's and you unlock the last stages upto Liu Shan's and your adjutant will mention the Emperors situation after that on both playthroughs (The first playthrough I did every stage along the way but after Wei Yan's I did the next stage Wu Zhang and got the trophy on my sub account I did Liu Shan's and got the trophy and Koei Warriors someone mentioned getting the trophy after finishing Bao Sanniang's stage) I played different stages and unlocked the Imperial protector trophy.

If you wanna check to see if it works in only 6 battles do it on a different PS3 user account. It should take less than 3 hours to get those 4 trophies. Yes I understand most people (Including me) would rather play through every stage along the way the first time they play but if someone wants to unlock all stages (Therefore be able to get any chaos weapon that you want) and the ability to be able to get all titles ASAP this works for them.

Are you certain that the Legendary Hero stages make up the entire remainder of the stages? I was looking in the gallery, and there were only 10 Legendary Hero movies and maybe 10-12 more event videos. Since Xiahou Ba had one (possibly Liu Shan as well?), it would make sense to not see the trophy until the very end anyway, though.

I'm mostly certain I was able to buy more than 3 of each weapon type when I started up Legend Mode, but now you have me doubting myself.

You (and other people on the dw forum I was glancing at for info earlier) seem to prefer to refer to stages by the hero name, but I haven't learned those offhand. I just know the stage names, sort of. Unfortunately, that means I need to load the game up again before figuring out what your order means to add it to the guide. I'll try your 6 stage thing out later tonight.

By the way, I only just tried remixing the game, so it's entirely possible that doing conquest stages may count towards the 1000, but there's just no way to know. It would be a nice break in the grind though.

Thanks for the compliments! This is actually my first full scale guide, so I'm new to this. :)

Wolfbane - I tried out your 6 stage string, and it worked, though the 6th stage must be one that comes after Mt Qi (I tested by running Yellow Turbans after and no emperor). For now I'll set the trophies to unlock by beating those stages you mentioned, but you probably can get them from different levels. I don't know if it's worth the effort to repeatedly make new accounts just to find out though... Also, it's really annoying playing through those 6 stages with a naked character and horrible weapons! :) Took me about an hour to get to Imperial Protector.

Still, I don't think it's worth mentioning that Imperial Protector can be earned that fast, because having the Chaos weapons that much faster really doesn't change anything in the grand scheme of things - I was still using pre-Chaos weapons in Nightmare a few times because I refused to use weapons with 4 slots in some cases.

I honestly think it's worth mentioning the glitch in your guide in the glitched trophies section to prevent anyone else into falling into the same mistake i did

I actually did make mention of that, but I wasn't sure whether it is classified as a full glitch, since you don't NEED to make a new save (though unless you paid careful attention, you basically end up redoing it all anyway).

I guess I'll just throw it in there as glitched and see if the trophy guide people correct me.

Unrivaled Warrior (B)

Defeated 3000 enemies in one Legend Mode battle.

The only level I found that was good for this was Wu Zhang - Wei, but you still need to be careful with kills. There are 4 bases in front of the castle that you can leave open, as well as a base point on the left side of the map. If you take them by accident, Guan Suo will come later and might take them back from you if you're lucky. There are 2 bases with Defense Captains and 1 base point right below Jiang Wei as well.

Also, for the top title for every character you don't need max stats for Nightmare mode. I had 800ish HP and 1,000ish attack/defence with each character. I say ish as some became higher due to skills they learn, but I only took them to 800/1,000 using the strategist. I used the halberd (The one with 100 attack obtained on Battle of Xiapi Nightmare difficulty) and a speed weapon (Or an EX capable weapon for Jin officers). The speed weapon was basically just for healing if I needed. I'd always switch into the halberd before attacking officers due to the power boost that gives and even on Nightmare they'd be close to dead (Or actually dead) after 6 hits. Unless they'd increased their defense.

Lunacy - I don't actually know the details of the glitch, only that it is possible. I'm not sure if the movie either doesn't show up in the gallery, or does show up and doesn't count towards the trophy. However, I have a list of the stage names with movies in Japanese, so I'll see if I can translate them and put them on the trophy description later tonight. You possibly should be able to just clear those stages again for the trophy.

Tsunami - There seems to be multiple infinite spawn points, actually. I didn't notice them when I was playing, but there were at least 3 in the Japanese comments I read. Still, abusing those is easier than how I got the trophy, so we might as well put together a list. I'll erase my description and add yours later. And for Nightmare, you definitely want max stats if it's your first time playing it. With practice and experience you can get by with less, of course. I don't max my stats anymore either, but I usually go to about 750-900 health and 1100ish att/def. Not because I need it, but because if I'm sitting there mashing left and the O button (Japanese PS3), 10-20 more presses isn't going to change anything. :)

Well I agree that you need max stats for the first time on the difficulty as the jump between nightmare and chaos is... Ridiculous. But you only need that for one character, who you can use to get all the nightmare weapons with. Was just pointing out for those that didn't want to go through the hassle of maxing every single character that they didn't have to :)

What can you do if you trigger the connoisseur glitch?

I had to go back and complete the level I missed on single player. I was missing one video and I remember doing that level with someone, so I re-watched it and cleared it in single player and got it.

True for nightmare weapons. That's what I did. But I think that may be different for getting the top title for each character trophy. I maxed out health for top title, then Attack and Defense anywhere from 800-1000+. I also maxed Speed and Power. That's just me, though. I haven't tried going in Nightmare with under 800 stats.

Though, if this is completely unnecessary, I'd like to know. lol I just imagine if I went into Nightmare mode for a title that had a time limit on it, I wouldn't make it unless I had those stats mentioned above.

Does the gallery tell you which stage unlocks each movie? Maybe I should check that on a second account before I go ahead and make the list.

Nope. If you go into movies it'll just show up as ???, I believe. I don't even think the placement in the movies section gives a hint to which stage it could possibly be in, either. It's just kind of mixed.

You'll come across it again if you play through Chaos and Nightmare for weapons and watch all events. Or, if you just want to speed run through it, I'd do all stages on Beginner.
