Asalam gone

Recommended Posts

This is unbelievable, I have spent 80 hours on this game. I go and do Deny Salvation quest, but before I do I switch from a maxed out Mystic Knight to a Mage just to build some magic points. I come back to Gran Soren after the quest and Asalam is not there, for no reason.

Now, he was just fine when I left to do the quest. Now I can't switch back to Mystic Knight like I planned to so I could complete the game. Also can't get my items or rest. I can't forge my items and run back to rest either, that's how I upgraded most of my items if it was a rare material.

The lack of fast travel already sucks, but I was still very much enjoying the game. I took my time, had fully upgraded my weapons and armor for my MK, saved my portcrystal, I'm so pissed. I'm not too sure I can beat the game as a Mage to even get to a new game plus.

I don't know if this is a glitch or what. I have seen little on this topic, but it's a game breaker to not be able to rest in Gran Soren. From what I've read, even letting a week in-game time will not respawn him.

Have you completed The Final Battle yet? If you haven't, he should still be at the Inn. If Gran Soren is not yet destroyed, and the Inn is still intact, sleep in any other Inn or Rest Area for about 7 days.

If you have completed the Final Battle, he will either be at your house in Cassardis or the Pawn Guild.

No I haven't started The Final Battle, its all I have left. I have done all side quest and everything. I come back to Gran Soren and he just isn't there. My pawns are even still talking saying this is a good place to rest and crap. This sucks bad, I just really needed to switch back to my Mystic Knight. I'm going to get crushed as a Mage.

If I can just get to a new game plus then maybe Asalam will be back. I'll have to go for the post-game trophies in a new game plus.

Serpent's bane:

drake,wrymm, wyvern

Evil Eye:

evil eye

Headshunter:

archydra

or

hydra

hire my pawn for additional help:

pawn name: Edgar Allan

What's your affinity with Asalam? I am just wondering if they are setting him up to be the "love interest" as it were. The people that are selected for me are always people who disappeared from the game. I am wondering if they are setting that up. If that is the case, you could seriously be screwed over as he won't ever go back.

That also brings up the point that is very stupid that you can change your vocation with one character.

Just go to Cassardis, Encampent or any other camp and REST for a total of 7days and he should be back. I think somehow he is dead and by resting for that time he will come back from the dead.

No I think he is gone for good, a ridiculous gameplay design. The game encourages experimentation but takes away the one person you can change vocations with.

From what I've read in other forums, I see what I did wrong. I had accepted an escort quest from Asalam earlier. I had maxed out my infinity with him, not realizing this would effect the game later. Word of warning cause his could happen to you and it screws you over royally.

I don't want to give away spoilers about what happens to NPC's with maxed out infinity. Just made my road to platinum a lot harder and longer.

No he didn't die, I did that escort quest way earlier in the game. Everything was normal after that , but I did notice everytime I spoke with him after, he had a purple aura around him. I now realize I maxed my infinity with him.

I got the trophy for max infinity beforehand with Reynard, when I completed the Search Party quest. So none of this max infinity crap occurred to me.

Just a warning to others, before starting the Deny Salvation quest, be sure you have the vocation you want to complete the game with. If not Asalam, or any other NPC you have max infinity with may disappear. I wish I had known sooner myself.

My Mystic Knight was a beast, now I'm a weak Mage and stuck. I have to defeat a dragon. I mean I would have struggled with my MK, but felt confident. I don't want to start a new game, but not sure I can get to a new game plus now. Maybe with some high level pawns I guess.

My three NPC in the game were killed within an hour in 3 different escort quest: Selene, Asalam, Mercedes. Will these characters' dead affect my game? in 3 different miserable ways?

All my materials stored in the inn are now no more. And all 4 of my adventured are over burdened.

So sad...:(

They will eventually respawn (I believe 7 days), so don't worry about it. To speed it up, walk to an inn or a rest camp and rest those 7 days (also you can deposit your items that have you overburdened).

They don't disappear - they move into your house and from what I understand still do their job. Asalam will even let you rest for 500G again even though IT IS YOUR HOUSE.

The best and fastest way to avoid this is just to lower the affinities with certain characters before going for Deny Salvation by attacking them. It will only get you in jail but has no other affect on anything.

I'm actually having the same issue only with the blacksmith. Post-Game is gonna be a bitch now as I'll have to return to Cassardis every time to enhance my gear. Not to mention I really don't want a romantic relationship with him of any kind! Luckly I created a female character so it's not the True Sausage-Ending ._.
