Introduction

Dragon's Dogma is a new fantasy action RPG by Capcom set in a huge open world where massive monsters are ready to attack you at any given moment. It employs equal parts Kingdoms of Amalur and Skyrim with a little bit of Shadows of the Colossus mixed in. Over the course of your adventure you will battle ghouls, ghosts and goblins, take down ogres and cyclops, and stare into the eyes of not one, but two massive dragons set to destroy you.

The trophies in this game are all very straight forward, requiring more time than actual skill. There is no difficulty settings, as the difficulty comes from the enemies themselves and learning their tactics. The collectibles and side quests add a large portion of the overall completion time to this game, but once you're felling chimeras in ten seconds after it used to take you ten minutes, you won't care.

Step 1: Complete the game the first time.

For this playthrough you will be focusing on getting all of the story related trophies, including the alternate ending trophies Solitude, Servitude, and Peace. Try and find as many locations as possible for The Explorer and try and find as many weapons/armour as you can for Well Equipped. You don't need to find all of the weapons/armour in one playthrough, and you don't need to do all of the quests in one playthrough -- as long as you continue into NG+ and beyond, you can keep playing through the game again and again until you get everything.

Watch out for the two "missable" trophies - Into the Manse and The Patron. They aren't missable in that you have to restart your entire game to achieve them, but for The Patron you have to talk to Madeleine in her shop before a certain point in the game, otherwise you can't get this until your next playthrough. For Into the Manse, you can only get this by completing a certain quest -- there is no other known way into the manse at the moment. See their descriptions for more details.

Just focus on getting used to the game and building a character the way that you like. Everything carries over into the next playthrough, so don't worry if you miss anything -- it will be back in NG+ for you to try again, and you'll have a pretty powerful character to use when you get there.

Try and complete as many notice board side quests as possible to get some of those out of the way and make your second playthrough shorter. The fewer quests you have to focus on, the better. They are also a great source of EXP and help you learn more about the world. You could focus on doing all 50 notice board quests for The Laborer in this first playthrough, leaving you to focus on The Hero in the second, although the later notice board requests get more time consuming.

Try and recruit as many pawns as possible to get The Captain trophy. You will need a total of 70 to unlock the trophy, but it's a good idea to try out several different pawns to get a feeling of what kind of team works for you. Recruited pawns will not level up with you, so switch them out every time you come to a riftstone so you can continue to get pawns that are prepared for the battles you are going into.

Other Misc. Trophies to unlock during this playthrough:

(B) Human Resources

(B) Inhuman Resources

(S) The Specialist

(B) Local Recruit

(B) Foreign Recruit

(B) The Savior

(B) The Knave

(B) The Artisan

(B) A Queen's Regalia

(B) The Philanthropist

(B) The Escort

(B) Affinity and Beyond

(B) Into the Ancient Quarry

(B) Headshunter

(B) Eye Contact

(B) Serpents' Bane

Step 2: Complete the game a second time (NG+) and wrap up all non-board quests.

By now you should have a pretty powerful character and know where all of the points of no return are. This is the time to focus on finishing all of the pre-planned, non-notice board sidequests for The Hero. You should also focus on getting the rest of the weapons/armour that you haven't received yet to finish the Well Equipped trophy. If you haven't defeated the Ur-Dragon yet (The Messiah), now is a great time to do it. You can access him at any time through a special riftstone located on Cassardis Beach. You should also focus on getting more than 10,000,000G for The Coin Collector by collecting and selling as much inventory as you can, or completing a bunch of side quests. If you are selling everything you don't need, you should have this before the end of your second playthrough.

If you follow this roadmap, by the end you should have unlocked:

(B) The Laborer

(S) The Hero

(B) The Veteran

(B) The Captain

(B) Well Equipped

(B) Into Dripstone Cave

(B) Into Soulflayer Canyon

(B) Into the Manse

(B) Into the Frontier Caverns

(B) The Tourist/(B) The Vagabond/(S) The Explorer

(G) The Ever-Turning Wheel

(S) The Coin Collector

(B) The Patron

The only location you might be missing is Into the Frontier Caverns, as it is not a mandatory location for any of the pre-planned side quests. See the trophy description for more information.

You can get the vast majority of the trophies in the first playthrough depending how much exploring and how many quests you are completing. This is just one of many, many ways to approach this game. The location trophies, with the exception of Into the Manse can be gotten at pretty much any time.

Step 3: Wrap up any missing trophies (optional)

If you missed any quests during your first two playthroughs, or need to find a few more pieces of weapons/armour, now is the time to do it. As long as you continue with NG++, everything will continue to carry over into subsequent playthroughs, no matter how many times you beat the game.

Collect all 50 other trophies and this one is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/BF3.jpg The Laborer (B)

Completed 50 notice board quests

Notice boards are the boards at inns and other locations in the game where you can pick and choose side quests to do. The main ones are located in Cassardis Inn, Gran Soren Inn, Gran Soren Alehouse, and The Encampment. Finish 50 tasks off these boards.

Note: completed quests carry over into NG+. You can finish 25 in your first playthrough and 25 in your second playthrough and still get this trophy. You can even do the same quest in each playthrough and still get credit for it.

To view how many you have completed, press :start: -> "History" -> :r1: to "Adventure Log" -> to "Quests" -> "Total Notice Board Quests Completed" is what is contributing to this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/BC8.jpg The Hero (S)

Completed all pre-planned, non-notice board quests.

These are the quests that are given to you by NPCs, and aren't grabbed from the notice board. You have to complete all of them in the game.

To view all the required quests you have completed, press :start: -> "History" -> :r1: to "Adventure Log" -> to "Quests" -> :cross: for details, and scrolling down. Compare it to the list below to see which ones you are missing.

Note: completed quests carry over into NG+. You can finish half of them in your first playthrough and half of them in your second playthrough. Or in your third or fourteenth. The trophy will unlock after you finish the last one.

For a short roadmap on optional sidequests only and how to start and complete them: The Hero "Roadmap"

It is recommended that you save this trophy until your second playthrough. In NG+ you can purchase Portcrystals and Ferrystones from The Black Cat in Gran Soren. By placing Portcrystals in strategic locations around the map, you can create a system for fast travel that reduces the amount of time needed to complete most of these quests. Portcrystals can only be placed outside of cities while in the Gransys world map. Any Portcrystal that you place will also remain there into every subsequent playthrough (although you can't use a Ferrystone to get there until after you arrive at Gran Soren).

Good locations to place a Portcrystal: The Encampment, Windbluff Tower, Ruins of Heavenspeak Tower, Ruins of Aernst Castle, and The Greatwall Encampment.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/244.jpg Human Resources (B)

Changed your vocation.

This can be done as soon as you get to Gran Soren. Talk to the innkeeper and choose the "Change Your Vocation" option. The cheapest cost is 1000RC. You don't have to keep the vocation if you don't want, you can change to any vocation you've purchased free of charge at any time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/0F3.jpg The Specialist (S)

Learned all the skills of a single vocation.

Play using one of the starting vocations until you get this (fighter, strider, or mage). It's cheaper that way. Just keep leveling up and defeating enemies and periodically going to "Learn or set skills" when you are at an inn or rest camp. You will get this before you finish your first playthrough.

You can also achieve this trophy by teaching all skills in a single vocation to your pawn. Credit to InfiniteStates for pointing this out.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/382.jpg The Veteran (B)

Defeated 3,000 enemies

Straightforward. All enemies count towards this trophy, even ones your pawns defeat. If you want to speed this up, travel at night a lot and stay off the roads. Just make sure you are prepared for a lot of enemies. Otherwise, this should unlock towards the end of your second playthrough, depending on how much exploring you're doing.

You can view how many enemies you killed by pressing :start: -> "History" -> :r1: to "Adventure Log" -> to "Enemies" -> "Enemies Slain" is what is contributing to this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/1DF.jpg Local Recruit (B)

Directly enlisted a pawn to your party.

The description is slightly misleading. This means one of the in-game pawns that you see wandering around everywhere. Pretty much anyone who isn't in a guard's uniform and is carrying a weapon can be recruited. The earliest you can do this is at The Encampment after you create your own pawn.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/C10.jpg Foreign Recruit (B)

Enlisted a pawn to your party from beyond the rift.

Using a riftstone, recruit a pawn from Beyond the Rift. Trophy should unlock as soon as they are in your party. The earliest you can do this is at The Encampment after you create your own pawn.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/E71.jpg The Captain (B)

Enlisted a large number of pawns.

You must recruit 70 pawns to get this trophy. All pawns count including in-game pawns. The fastest way to get this is to go into the riftstone as soon as you have access (after completing the "Off With Its Head" quest in The Encampment), go up to the riftstone and select "Search Pawns By Level," then call forth pawns 5 at a time, recruit them, then go back and do the same thing, selecting 5 more.

Any pawn that is your level or lower will not cost any Rift Crystals to enlist, so try setting the pawn level much lower than yours when you start recruiting them using this method, and each time you go back to the riftstone to select some more, increase the level by 1 to get a different set of pawns. Using this method it shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes, depending how far away from 70 you are.

You can see how many pawns you have enlisted by pressing :start: -> "History" -> :r1: to "Adventure Log" -> to "Pawns" -> "Pawns Hired" is what is contributing to this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/23D.jpg Inhuman Resources (B)

Changed your main pawn's vocation.

See Human Resources.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/8A9.jpg The Savior (B)

Used a Wakestone to restore the dead to life.

Complete the "Reaper's Scorn" quest to unlock this.

To start the quest, talk to Austine at the blacksmith house in Craftman's Quarter in Gran Soren. He will ask you to find another Wakestone Shard to revive his son. You can either search around on the rooftops in The Venery, a section of Gran Soren, for a random drop treasure chest that sometimes contains it, or you can purchase one from Fournival in the Noble Quarter for 15,000G. Bring the Wakestone back to the smithy and press :circle: next to his son to use it on him. The trophy should unlock after the cutscene.

You can also achieve this by using a Wakestone on yourself. Credit to T_l_M_B_0 for pointing this out.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/AFE.jpg The Knave (B)

Obtained a forgery.

Once you are in Gran Soren, go to The Black Cat in The Venery. Have him copy a unique item (common items don't count). When you talk to him, select the option "So tell me about your forgeries..." and he will allow you to select something from your inventory to make a forgery of for a price. Common items don't count -- I recommend using the Bronze Idol that you get from Selene's House or the Dragonforged's House, but you can use pretty much any unique quest item to achieve this.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/4B6.jpg The Artisan (B)

Combined two materials to make an item.

While in your inventory screen, select an item you want to combine with :cross: and go to "Combine." This will bring up a window of inventory items that you can attempt to combine your item with. Try different combinations to make new things. The easiest one you can do is combine a Flask Of Oil with a Lantern to fill it up.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/341.jpg Well Equipped (B)

Obtained 350 pieces total of weapons and armor.

Find 350 unique pieces of weapons or armour (duplicates do not count, they have to be different). If it shows up in your Equipment Subscreen (under Weapons, Head, Torso, Arms, Legs, or Accoutrements), then it counts towards the total.

Make sure you are fully exploring dungeons, and try and choose sidequests which give you a weapon as a reward. Constantly go back to merchants after completing storyline quests and check their stocks. Also, give all of the merchants gifts to raise their affinity towards you, which will increase the total number of unique items that they sell.

Things that will help:

1 - If you have never seen an item before, it will flash "New" next to it when purchasing from a merchant. It will only do this the first time that you highlight it - afterwards, you will just have to guess.

2 - After you have purchased an item, you don't have to keep it. If you know you aren't going to use it, sell it back for a bit of money. The trophy does not count weapons and armour in your possession, just all of the ones that you have accumulated over the course of your entire game.

To view how much you have collected, press :start: -> "History" -> :r1: to "Adventure Log" -> to "Inventory" -> Add the two lines "Types of Weapons Obtained" and "Types of Armor Obtained" together to get your total.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/05C.jpg A Queen's Regalia (B)

Dressed a male party member in women's clothing.

You can purchase a set of women's clothing at The Black Cat in Gran Soren as soon as you get there. The dress will show up in your equipment subscreen as an equippable item. Put it on and wait a few seconds, and you will have this trophy. If you and your main pawn are both female, you can get this trophy by giving the dress to an enlisted pawn and having them equip it. If you do this, you will lose the dress to the pawn (they will take it back as a gift) but you will get your trophy. Thanks to Ardhanari for confirming this works.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/3B5.jpg The Philanthropist (B)

Gave 50 presents.

For the first screen of dialogue when you talk to someone, you can choose whether to give them gifts or not by pressing :square:. They do not have to like the gift in order to get this trophy, you just have to give it to them. Start giving gifts to everyone as soon as you start the game and you'll have this in no time. Gifts that you give to departing pawns do not count towards this trophy.

The easiest way to get this is to give lots of gifts to all of the merchants you come across in the game to raise their inventory stocks. Not every item can be given as a gift, but lots can -- Harspud Juice or flowers are good gifts, as pretty much everyone likes them.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/646.jpg The Escort (B)

Acted as a reliable travel companion.

This refers to any of the notice board escort missions in the game. Simply accept one and escort them safely to their destination. Your first escort mission can be started from Cassardis Notice Board after returning from The Encampment. As long as your escort arrives at their destination alive, this trophy will unlock. Note: escorting Madeleine to The Encampment or delivering the hydra head to Gran Soren do not count towards this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/CD7.jpg Affinity and Beyond (B)

Raised a person's affinity to the maximum.

Complete all of the side quests that help out your love interests and you will get this. Giving gifts to NPCs also count towards this trophy, so if you decide to complete The Philanthropist entirely on one person, you will likely achieve this trophy (depending on whether they like your gifts or not).

For Selene, complete "Lost and Found" and "Witch Hunt" side quests during the game and give her herbs or flowers as gifts. She should be at max affinity by the end of "Witch Hunt."

For Madeleine, escort her to the Encampment ("Guard Duty") and donate 1,000G towards her travel expenses. Once she is in Gran Soren, complete the "Chasing Shadows," "Supplier's Demand" and "Bad Business" side quests. At the end of "Bad Business" she should be at max affinity. Give her gifts to speed up the process.

For the Duchess, talk to her a few times when you first meet her outside the Duke's Damanse. Keep talking to her until she takes your hat. Leave the castle and come back, then talk to Mirabelle to start "Arousing Suspicion." Complete this quest and intervene when necessary. After completing all of the duke's tasks but before starting "Deny Salvation," talk to Mirabelle again and complete "Duchess in Distress." By the end of that quest she will be at max affinity. To speed up this process, give her flowers.

You can also give someone the item The Arisen's Bond to instantly raise their affinity to maximum. You receive this item after delivering the Ancient Tablet in "The Dragon's Tongue" quest to the Dragonforged.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/AB0.jpg Into Dripstone Cave (B)

Entered the azure caverns.

These are the caverns located by Cassardis and The Encampment. You can enter either through the well in Cassardis, or just around the corner from The Encampment heading towards The Witchwood (your first left heading towards Gran Soren, the door is in the rocks on your lefthand side). Simply walk through the front doors and the trophy is yours.

You will also enter during the "Deep Trouble" sidequest.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/27A.jpg Into the Ancient Quarry (B)

Entered the ancient quarry.

The ancient quarry is located northwest from Gran Soren's southern entrance. You can also find the other entrance by walking east from The Shadow Fort and hugging the rock wall on your left. Simply enter through the front doors and the trophy is yours.

You will also enter during "The Wyrmking's Ring" main story quest.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/FD3.jpg Into Soulflayer Canyon (B)

Entered the Soulflayer Canyon

The easiest entrance to find is located east of The Greatwall Encampment. Leaving the encampment, go east and follow the rock wall until you come across a large gated entrance. Go inside, and the trophy will pop.

You will also enter during "The Conspirators" and "Search Party" sidequests.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/932.jpg Into the Manse (B)

Entered the duke's manse.

Missable trophy.

The only entrance into the duke's manse is during the "Duchess in Distress" side quest. First, you must complete the "Arousing Suspicion" quest given to you by Mirabelle after meeting the duke for the first time. Then, after finishing all of the duke's task but before accepting his gift, Mirabelle will be outside the main entrance to the castle. Talk to her and she will give you a guard's uniform. Go to the northeast corner of the map and put on the guard's uniform to gain entrance. The trophy should pop once you are inside.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/C08.jpg Into the Frontier Caverns (B)

Entered the southwestern caves.

On the battlefield where you battle the two cyclops' at The Shadow Fort, search around for holes in the ground. There will be two that are too small to enter and one that is large enough for you to walk through. Follow the large one all the way to the end, and you will enter the Frontier Caverns. Once inside, the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/574.jpg The Tourist (B)

Visited 50 locations.

See The Explorer.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/34C.jpg The Vagabond (B)

Visited 100 locations.

See The Explorer.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/89C.jpg The Explorer (S)

Visited 150 locations.

As you are going through the game, explore every nook and cranny of the map. Explore all of the dungeons and look for hidden entrances. There are more than 150 locations in the game, but not by many. You will come across more than 150 simply by finishing all of the quests for The Laborer and The Hero. Any time a gray box appears at the top of your screen, that counts as a location.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/F70.jpg The Ever-Turning Wheel (G)

Completed the adventure a second time.

After finishing the game you will be brought back to the main menu. Choose "Load Game" and you will be asked if you want to start again using the same character. Continue the story this way for NG+. You will have everything from your previous playthrough available to you again. Simply finish the main quest again and you will have this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/9C1.jpg The Coin Collector (S)

Earned a total of 10,000,000G

This is 10,000,000G accumulative - you do not need to have 10,000,000G in your possession at once.

The best way to get this is to sell everything that you know you won't need, like equipment and armour that is worse than what you currently have equipped, and by completing as many notice board side quests as you can. Over time, from completing quests and selling items, you will accumulate this amount, likely towards the end of your second playthrough.

If you want, you can also stockpile everything you come across in the game and sell it all at once to try and meet this total, then reload from your previous save and continue playing.

Note: all money totals carry over into NG+. You can earn 4M G in your first playthrough and 6M G in your second playthrough and still get this trophy.

For a very fast way to get this trophy, read this thread.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/4A8.jpg The Patron (B)

Helped Madeleine open her shop.

Missable trophy.

When you first meet Madeleine in Cassardis, escort her to The Encampment. Once you arrive safely, she will ask for a donation of 1,000G. Give it to her. Later, after finishing "A Matter of Myrmidons" quest, talk to Mason to start the "Chasing Shadows" quest. Follow the man to an abandoned shop where he will meet up with Madeleine.

Come back the next day and talk to her, and she should mention something about how helpful your donation was. After that, the trophy will pop.

Note: you do not have to complete all of the quests to get her into the shop or give her the 1,000G donation. It seems like the only prerequisite is completing the "Chasing Shadow" quest. Either way, when she sets up shop in the Abandoned House next to The Black Cat in the Venery in Gran Soren, visit her and talk to her a few times.

Secret Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/7E4.jpg It Begins (B)

Completed the prologue.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=itbegins]Finish the tutorial to unlock this. All of the enemies that you encounter through the tutorial are very straight forward, and there is only one path to take. When battling the chimera at the end, focus on cutting off his tail first, then the goat's head, and then attacking the lion's head. When you cut off the tail and the goat's head, he will start to rampage -- be careful, as he can do a lot of damage by charging you. Climb up on his back whenever you can and attack his head to finish him off.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/739.jpg Onward (B)

Departed from Cassardis.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=onward]After the first battle with the dragon where he steals your heart, you will wake up in your house. Once you have control of your character outside of your house, go to the front gates. A cutscene will start where you will be given your first pawn and tasked with going to the Encampment. After this cutscene is over you are free to leave Cassardis. As soon as you step outside the main gates, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/086.jpg A New Ally (B)

Summoned your own pawn.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=anewally]After defeating the cyclops outside of The Encampment, you will be allowed to create your own pawn. This will unlock when you first summon them.

The cyclops battle is fairly simple. Take out the goblins on the ground first so they don't get in your way, then focus on attacking his head. If you have any ranged weapons, stand back at a safe distance and shoot him. If you are a fighter, climb up on his back and rest between his shoulder blades to do the most damage. Be warned, he may attempt to swat you off his back -- this can do a fair bit of damage and leave you stunned for further attacks.

Once the cyclops has been defeated, go back and report to the riftstone. From here you will be allowed to create your pawn that will be at your side for the rest of the game. Once you exit the editor after creating your pawn, they will be summoned, and this trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/4A9.jpg Getting a Head (B)

Earned the approval of the Enlistment Corps.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=gettingahead]

After creating your pawn, do whatever side quests you want to accomplish. Once you are ready, report to Ser Mercedes. She is usually located next to the riftstone tent, or in the campsite right beside it. Choose to rest, and after a brief moment you will be startled awake by a hydra.

To defeat the hydra, focus on attacking one of its heads. If you are a ranged fighter, there is a tower nearby that you can use to get a better vantage point. If you are a melee fighter, climb up one of its necks and attack just below the head. Eventually one of the heads will fall off, and the hydra will retreat. After the cutscene, you will achieve this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/7D4.jpgThe Courier (B)

Entered Gran Soren.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=thecourier]This will unlock after delivering the hydra head to Gran Soren.

During the escort mission of getting the hydra head to Gran Soren, you will be attacked by goblins and harpies and possibly some bandits. Stay near the cart at all times in case it gets ambushed and fight off all of the attackers. There will be other guards and whatever pawns you have enlisted there to help you, so this should not be difficult. Once you and the caravan go through the southern gates at Gran Soren, you will achieve this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/E4E.jpg Writ Large (B)

Received a writ from the castle.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=writlarge]This will unlock after you receive the Wyrm Hunt License. You will receive this after completing "Lure of the Abyss." Talk to Barnaby in the Pawn Guild to complete the quest, and when you attempt to leave, Ser Maxmillian will stop you and give you the license.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/E66.jpg Come Courting (B)

Attended an audience with the duke.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=comecourting]You can unlock this after completing at least two of the four quests that Ser Maxmillian gives you during the Wyrm Hunt. After you have completed the second task, there will be a new option to hear the duke's message. Once you accept that, you will be brought into The Duke's Demesne, and you can enter the audience hall. If you accept this option without completing all four of Ser Maxmillian's tasks, you will not be able to go back and complete the other two that you missed, and will have to wait until NG+.

Following a cutscene, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/E59.jpg The Message (B)

Received the duke's commendation

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=themessage]This will unlock after returning to the castle when you complete the "Reward and Responsibility" quest.

As soon as you finish the second round of tasks given to you by Aldous, a guard will tell him about a disturbance at the Mountain Waycastle. Go there, and as soon as you arrive you will have to return to Gran Soren. Travel back and go through the west entrance, to Craftsman Quarter. Here, you will have to battle a cockatrice.

You do not have to defeat him, just get him down to about half health. Ranged attacks are a life saver here, as the cockatrice spends most of its time in the air. Hit it with a few powerful magic attacks to knock it down to the ground within range of the guards and attack its head to deal a good amount of damage. If you are a fighter, make sure you have a couple of pawns with ranged attacks that can aid you and knock it to the ground. Once there, attack its head and when it starts to stand up, grabble its side and hold on tight. Make sure you have lots of stamina boosters, because if the cockatrice tosses you off from high in the air the fall will likely kill you.

Once he flies off, talk to the guard by the west gate and he will take you to Aldous. Visit the duke in his solar and follow him to the treasure room. After picking up all of the loot, a cutscene will start and this trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/B8D.jpg Rough Landing (B)

Completed the urgent mission.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=roughlanding]As soon as you receive the previous trophy you will start the "Deny Salvation" quest. You will have to travel to the Greatwall on the far west side of the map and battle your way into the castle. Once you reach the top of the castle, you will fight two wights. Defeat them both, and this trophy will pop after a cutscene.

Strategy for the wights: They aren't really that difficult, but they can be a pain depending what class you are. If you are a mage/strider, target the wights with long-ranged attacks to make short work of them. If you are a fighter, kill all of the skeletons and undead that they summon to bring them to the ground, then attack and make short work of them. Watch out for their tornado AOE attack -- it can easily kill an unprepared party.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/263.jpg Destiny (B)

Accepted the Godsbane blade.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=dest]During "The Final Battle" quest, you will eventually have to defeat the dragon. This battle can be difficult depending on how prepared you are and what class you are.

First, you will have to escape the dragon and battle him inside. You have about two minutes to deliver as much damage as possible before he flies away.

Chase him down and climb to the top of a tower. Shoot him once with a ballista to start a cutscene, then climb up his back and stab him in his heart.

After that comes the big fight. You will have to take him on in an arena. If you are a fighter, make sure to stock up on curatives and stamina boosts, since you'll be spending a lot of time in close combat. If you are a mage or strider, make sure you have lots of replenishing potions on hand and be prepared to run, as you will be spending a lot of time at a distance where he will want to shoot fireballs at you and charge you when you provoke him.

For fighters: it helps to have another fighter on hand and at least one mage to heal you. For the other fighter, make sure they know one of the launch techniques, and have him launch you up onto the dragon's stomach so you can quickly attack his heart. Or, if you time it right, you can jump off the dragon's leg and latch onto his heart from there, but if he moves you'll likely get squashed. Once on his stomach, just keep slashing for as long as you can.

For mages/striders: whatever your most powerful ranged attack is, aim it at his heart and just keep firing and moving. The dragon will follow you once provoked, and he can do a lot of damage in very little time.

Once you get him down two bars of health he will retreat to one of the towers along the edge. Climb up the ledges to his right and there will be a ballista at the top. Shoot him in the heart a couple of times to get him to come back down. Once he is back on the ground, shoot him again to make him fall down, and hit him as many times as you can before he gets back up.

Continue with your previous tactics until you defeat him. The trophy will pop during or after the cutscene.

Peered into the very depths of the world.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=treach]During "A Warm Welcome," return to the duke's damanse and visit the duke's solar. After the cutscene and short battle with the duke, escape from the guards to the giant hole where the Fountain Plaza used to be. Once there, you will start a cutscene. After it is over, the trophy will pop.

[spoiler=free]Once you are in the Everfall, talk to Quince to start "Fathom Deep." Collect 20 Wakestones by falling down into the chasm more and battling through different arenas. Enemies will randomly drop one Wakestone, bosses will drop two.

The Everfall is also where you will have your first chance to defeat the Ur-Dragon. If you deliver the final blow, you will get The Messiah trophy and he will drop 20 Wakestones.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=mer]Finish "The Final Judgement" and defeat the Seneschal. Once he is defeated, he will ask you to kill him. Do so, and this trophy is yours.

The Seneschal is a fairly easy end boss fight. You will first have to defeat him in "Trial of Will." Just dodge his blast attack and hit him with whatever you have. You will likely do enough damage to defeat him before he is finished talking. Then, just dodge his attacks until the cutscene.

Next comes "Trial of Resolve." You can choose to either exit the battle by walking into an illusion (see Peace) or press forward and fight your way through NPCs. Fight forward to continue the battle. Once you reach the end, you will start "Trial to End it All."

Here you will fight the Seneschal and his pawn. You can defeat them in whatever order you like, but you will have to beat both of them to finish this battle. Just focus on one at a time and finish them off quickly so that you and your pawn can tag-team whoever is left standing. If you are defeated during this battle, you will unlock Servitude. If you are successful, you will be treated to a short cutscene. After you deliver the killing blow to the Seneschal after the cutscene ends, this trophy will unlock.

[spoiler=soli]During "The Final Battle," the dragon will ask you to choose between battling him, or sacrificing a loved one and reigning as king. Walk away from the dragon and sacrifice as loved one, and this trophy will pop.

This acts the same as a death and you have to go back and fight the dragon.

Soar unto a new world.

[spoiler=serv]During "The Final Judgement," let the Seneschal kill you. After you are defeated, you will be treated to a cutscene and this trophy.

This acts the same as a death and you have to go back and fight the Seneschal again.

You can also achieve this trophy by stabbing yourself with the Godsbane Blade before stabbing stabbing the Seneschal. Credit to T_l_M_B_0 for pointing this out.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/725.jpg Peace (B)

[spoiler=peace]During "The Final Judgement," there will be a point where the Seneschal gives you the option to keep fighting, or return to a normal life. This is during "Trial of Resolve," when you have to battle your way through all of the people you've met during your quest. Turn around and walk away, and you will be returned to Cassardis as a normal person. Attempt to leave the city and the credits will roll, and you will be treated to this trophy.

This acts the same as a death and you have to go back and fight the Senechal again.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/DDC.jpg Closure (G)

Put an end to all things.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=clos]Once you have defeated the Seneschal and killed him, you then have to act out life as the new Seneschal for all time. To finish the game, use the Godsbane (Special Items in your inventory) and the Arisen will hold the blade over his heart. Press attack to have him kill himself, and watch the credits roll. This will pop towards the end.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/791.jpg Headshunter (B)

Defeated a hydra or archydra.

The hydra that you battle in The Encampment does not count. The easiest one to find is in the Everfall, when you are looking for Wakestones. There is an archydra located in the Chamber of Hesitation. Attack its heads to make short work of it.

Once you are in the post game (after completing "The Final Battle" story quest), go to the Cassardis Notice Board and start "A Challenge" notice board quest. You will battle a hydra in the Frontier Caverns.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/435.jpg Eye Contact (B)

Defeated an evil eye.

The Evil Eye is located in the Chamber of Confusion in the Everfall. You cannot hurt it until you get it to drop its shield. Cut off its tentacles until it falls to the ground, then hit it hard with everything you've got. Repeat until dead.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/7E6.jpg Serpents' Bane (B)

Defeated a drake, wyrm, and wyvern.

To get this trophy you have to defeat one of each.

There is a drake located in the southwest corner of the map in the Devilfire Grove, just outside of The Shadow Fort. One will also sometimes show up in the Chamber of Fate in the Everfall. Follow the same tactics as you used against the dragon, and he will fall quickly.

There is a wyrm located in the Chamber of Distress in the Everfall. The tactics are exactly the same as the drake above, except he uses ice attacks instead of fire.

The wyvern is located on the road between Windbluff Tower and Gran soren. Follow the road and keep your eyes on the sky to spot him. If you are playing as a warrior, try and get close to him while he's circling overhead so that he can spot you. If you have any ranged attacks, use them to provoke him to come down. Once he's on the ground, jump on his back. Unlike the drake and wyrm, the wyvern's heart is located on its back, between the two wings. Hit him constantly and keep your stamina fully stocked. Once you're on his back, try not to fall off, especially if he gets airborne - the fall will likely kill you. He may also do a spinning attack to get you off that drains a lot of stamina, so try and keep your stamina above half at all times. Liquid Vim is a lifesaver here.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/8FA.jpg The Messiah (G)

Defeated the Ur-Dragon

The Ur-Dragon can be found in the Chamber of Lament in the Everfall, or through a riftstone on Cassardis beach in NG+. He is a massive boss that takes an insane amount of damage to defeat.

The fastest way to get this is to summon him online when he is at 0 health, but this is getting harder to do and as the Ur-Dragon levels up more, it will continue to get harder. It is now highly recommended to do this battle offline (disconnect from PSN before starting the game and do not connect when you are loading), and during NG+.

Before you start the battle, create a manual save just inside of the riftstone. This will serve as a buffer zone -- if you are playing offline, the Ur-Dragon's health will not regenerate, and you can choose to leave at any time to go and heal. If you die, choose to restart from the last manual save and you will start back in the Ur-Dragon's chamber and try again. Once you are near dead or out of items, or if you want to try different pawns, leave the Chamber, rest up, and return, then make another manual save just inside of the riftstone.

Continue to do this until you have defeated him. Credit to Mitsuru Kirijo for pointing out the save method.

There are various tactics that you can use against the Ur-Dragon that will all depend on your vocation. Check out this thread for some good tips on different tactics. You are aiming to destroy all of the pulsing orbs on his body. Maker's Fingers (which can be purchased from Fournival) deal insane amounts of damage.

The ones on his feet and tail can be reached by pretty much everyone, either by hacking away with a sword or spamming magic attacks or arrows, but you will have to climb onto his back to hit the ones located there. Try taking out the orbs on his back and his tail early on so you can just focus on attacking the orbs closer to the ground towards the end of the battle. Some orbs are close enough together that you can hit multiple targets at the same time with the right attacks, which will make this battle a little easier. You will have to use a little bit of everything to defeat him. As long as you are playing offline, his health will not regenerate.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/994/AEA.jpg Dragon Forged (S)

Strengthened equipment in wyrmfire.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

[spoiler=dragon]After you defeat the dragon in "The Final Battle," all of your equipment will be strengthened by wyrmfire. This will pop when you wake up in your house back in Cassardis, at the beginning of "A Warm Welcome."

You can also achieve this by having your equipment upgraded at least 1 level, and defeating a drake, wyrm, wyvern or the Ur-Dragon. Thanks to sunnygrg for pointing this out.

The Hero Quest Guide

There may be minor spoilers in the following descriptions.

Thanks also go to PKopetzky, UndergroundHipHopHead, Burgandy85 and everyone else who helped find mistakes or point out different/better ways of doing things. I'm still new at this, and this probably wasn't the best game to choose for my first guide. >.< Your help and patience was greatly appreciated.

This is a list of the optional side quests in the game needed for the The Hero trophy. The story quests are not included, as you will complete those naturally by finishing the game. For a full list of the quests required for this trophy, including the story quests and the order they show up in your Adventures information, read this thread

These quests are organized by key story points in the game that unlock further quests. They are:

  • After you finish the tutorial
  • After defeating the hydra at The Encampment
  • After arriving at Gran Soren
  • After meeting the duke
  • After completing the second set of tasks given to you by the duke, but before completing "The Final Battle"

That last one is a key point to remember: a lot of pre-planned quests will be "cancelled" after finishing "The Final Battle" quest. Make sure you have completed all of the quests that you want to do before finishing "The Final Battle."

Another note: Several quests will become inaccessible if you progress the story too far.

The quests are broken up into the sections of the game where they become unlocked, then organized alphabetically by the region where the quest starts. This just gives you an idea of what quests are available when trying to get the The Hero trophy. If you want to do all of the quests in your first playthrough, then keep checking back to this list and complete all of the quests in each section before progressing the story.

After You Finish The Tutorial

Cassardis

Floral Delivery

- Talk to Benita in the wrecked house by the inn and deliver 5 Sunbright flowers and 1 Moonglow flower. Sunlight flowers can be found around large trees out in Gransys, but they are easiest to find in the Witchwood. A Moonglow flower can be found next to one of the rocks on the beach outside of Cassardis at night time. Watch out for goblin raids if you're doing this early in your first playthrough.

Grim Tidings

- Talk to Elvar and inform Merin of his loss. Just follow your quest markers the entire way and you should be fine.

Lost Faith

- Talk to the priest in the chapel and find his lost scriptures. They are located on top of one of the roofs. Return them to the priest.

World

Of Merchants & Monsters (Ancient Quarry)

- Talk to the merchant outside of the Ancient Quarry entrance closest to Gran Soren after you've been inside once. Open all the doors and kill all three Ogres inside. Explore every corner of the quarry to find them.

Search Party (Raynard, traveling merchant)

- This is an annoying one. You will not be able to do this quest if you do not rescue Raynard outside of Cassardis the first time you go to The Encampment. He is the guy being attacked by goblins. He will travel to pretty much every city and rest camp in the area. The easiest way to find him to to rest at an inn and wait around outside the inn for a few minutes. If he doesn't show up, go back and rest again. After four or five tries he will usually show up.

  • Purchase ten things from Raynard. Purchase one item at a time, exit, then talk to him again and purchase another.
  • Give him a piece of scrap iron (semi-rare drop from skeletons)
  • Purchase 15 items, same method as the first time.
  • Give him a Miasmite. Not a Miasmite Shard. Miasmites are rare drops from phantoms -- travel around near Gran Soren at night to find some phantoms and keep defeating them until they drop one. You can also create one by combining a Firefly Stone and a Miasmite Shard.
  • Purchase another 25 things from him.
  • Give him all six of his father's journals. They can be found:
    • In the Venery in Gran Soren. Run around on the rooftops by The Black Cat and look for the alley with a ladder going down and no other entrance.
    • The Encampment, in a chest near the campsite.
    • Inside the Ancient Quarry, in a large area near the center of the map.
    • In the Catacombs, in the room where you first meet the phantoms.
    • In Soulflayer Canyon. Keep going straight when you enter from the west entrance, the one near the Greatwall Encampment. It's sitting on a destroyed bridge right near the entrance.
    • In the Miasmic Haunt on the southern side, in the campsite.

I recommend gather all of these things together before starting this quest, so you don't have to constantly track down Raynard. A good way to do this is to try and find him during the Trials & Tribulations questline, since he should be marked on the map if you have Trials & Tribulations as your priority quest.

After Defeating The Hydra (The Encampment)

Cassardis

An Uninvited Guest

- Talk to the innkeeper, then the other shop owners. Come back at night and stop the thief. You have to hit him with an attack and then grab him to finish the quest.

Deep Trouble

- Talk to Poll, the guard standing next to the well. Go down the well and kill all of the Saurions.

Guard Duty

- Escort Madeleine to The Encampment (she can be found at the inn). The worst you might have to put up with is a few goblins along the way, but otherwise this is very straightforward.

Lost & Found

- Talk to Adaro. Find Quina in the Witchwood and escort her home. If you are doing this on your first playthrough, be wary of bandits, as they can be difficult depending on your level.

The Encampment

Strength in Numbers- After creating your own pawn talk to Ser Berne and complete the training. He will prompt you to start this quest as soon as you summon your pawn after creating them.

World

No Honour Among Thieves (Ruins of Aernst Castle)

- After meeting Maul, either kill the group of female bandits at the Ruins of Heavenspeak Castle or capture the deserter. You must complete "An Uninvited Guest" before you can do this quest.

After Visiting Gran Soren

Cassardis

Dying of Curiosity

- Talk to Merin on the beach (he should be by the boats). He will want you to track down Valmiro. First, grab at least 6 healing items (Greenwarishs are the cheapest). Then talk to Alonso (front gate), Barten (herbalist), and Mayra (usually wandering around near the inn). Go to the beach just outside of Cassardis to find Valmiro. After helping him, he will run off to the Encampment. You can find him just outside the door lying in the grass. After that he will run to the Witchwood. As soon as you enter he will be within sight. Help him for the last time and return to Cassardis to talk to Merin.

Gran Soren

A Fortress Beseiged

- Reclaim the Shadow Fort. Received from Ser Maxmillian. Travel to The Shadow Fort through the Ancient Quarry. Once you arrive, you will have to sneak into the fortress through a hole in the ground next to the soldiers. Either go through the door or travel to the rooftop to get outside. There is a building on the left hand side of the arena that you need to get into, with a ladder on the far side. Climb the ladder and drop into the building, then go through the gated door in the first room to find the lever to open the gate. Take the lever back to the roof of the first building you entered through, and open the gate to let the soldiers in. Defeat all of the enemies, including the two cyclops', then battle your way through the fortress. When you come out to the next cyclops, you can run past him and into the other side of the tower. Follow the hallway until you come to a large door. Behind it is the goblin chieftan. Defeat him in battle and watch the following cutscene, then report your victory back to Ser Maxmillian to complete this quest.

A Troublesome Tome

- Talk to Steffen near Fountain Plaza. The tome is located in The Ruins of Aernst Castle, on top of the tallest tower. You do not have to trade for it with the bandits that are located there, just climb the walls until you reach the top of the tower and open the chest.

Chasing Shadows

- Talk to Mason after completing "A Matter of Myrmidons". Go to the Noble Quarter at night and follow the stranger. Stay far enough back that he doesn't notice you -- stay out of sight around corners and using the quest marker to figure out where he is, is a safe bet. If he catches you too many times you will fail the quest.

The Hero Quests (cont.)

After Visiting Gran Soren (Cont.)

Gran Soren

Escort Duty

- Complete Land of Opportunity, and Chasing Shadows, then talk to Fournival at his home. Escort his daughter around town. It doesn't matter how nice you are to her, as long as you escort her around. Buy her a flask of water when she gets thirsty, and if you're feeling generous let her win the footrace.

Justice Done (Part of "Seeking Salvation")

- At the end of Seeking Salvation. Decide what to do with the captured enemy. Note: going against what Mason wants MAY cause him to disappear from the game. Uncomfirmed at the moment, but I never saw him again after I went against his wishes.

Land of Opportunity

- Talk to Fournival and evict his tenants. You will have to chase down the son to a couple of spots, including on the rooftop of one the buildings in the Craftsman Quarter. Talk to the wife and talk to the husband, then wait a day. Track them all down again and talk to them once more. Then go and talk to Fournival. You can either purchase the land from him for 80,000G or evict the tenants outright. If you do, you will have to give the tenants a donation of 30,000G to get them to leave. Either one will complete the quest successfully.

Lure of the Abyss

- Talk to Barnaby in the Pawn Guild after completing "A Matter of Myrmidons." Travel to the bottom of the Everfall and investigate, then report your findings back to him.

Reaper's Scorn

- Talk to Austine in at the blacksmith house in Craftman's Quarter. Find another Wakestone shard to revive his son. You can purchase one from Fournival, or find one in a chest on one of the roofs in the Venery, near The Black Cat. It's a random loot, so it might not always be there. Completing this quest will also unlock The Savior.

Seeking Salvation

- After receiving the Wyrm Hunt Letter, talk to Ser Maxmillian. Explore the catacombs and defeat the group of undead at the end. (NOTE: "Justice Done" starts right at the end of this quest. See that quest for more information)

The Cypher

- After receiving the Wyrm Hunt Letter, talk to Ser Maxmillian. Decipher the ancient slate by taking it to the Dragonforged.

The Watergod's Altar

- After receiving the Wyrm Hunt Letter, talk to Ser Maxmillian. Go to Man Swallowing Falls (east of the Mountain Waycastle) and meet up with the survey team. Find the lost brother and all of the ancient slates.

After Meeting The Duke

Cassardis

An Innocent Man

- Find Tomlin on the stairs north of the beach. Go back to the castle in Gran Soren and investigate his father's disappearance. You will have to break him out of the dungeon - bring two skeleton keys with you.

Farewell, Valmiro

- Have saved Valmiro in "Dying of Curiosity," talk to him by the beach. Give him a Potent Greenwarish, Lantern, Kept Sour Ambrosial Meat, and Pilgrim's Charm, then help send him on his way. It's usually easier to bring all of these things with you before starting the quest, in order to cut down on time. Most of them can be purchased in a shop, but you will have to combine some sour ambrosial meat and an airtight flask to get the Kept Sour Ambrosial Meat. You can either wait for Ambrosial Meat to sour, or try and find some as a drop.

Gran Soren

Arousing Suspicion

- After meeting Lady Aelinore. When you first leave the duke's demense after meeting him the first time, the camera will pan over to her in her garden, prompting you to go and talk to her. Talk to Mirabelle at the castle and visit Lady Aelinore at night. Intervene when appropriate.

Idol Worship

- Talk to Caxon and deliver a bronze, silver, or gold idol to him. The easiest to find are the bronze. One is located in the Dragonforged's cave, another in Selene's house in the Witchwood, on her window sill.

After Meeting The Duke (Cont.)

Rise of the Fallen

- Talk to Ser Maxmillian. You will need to find a key into a special part of the Catacombs, either by ambushing a group of Salvation members at night by the aqueducts or purchasing one from The Black Cat. Once you have that, go to the Catacombs and go through the previously locked door. Defeat all of the enemies and find all of the keys to open the door at the end. Check inside all of the tombs and make sure to explore every nook and cranny of this new area, as they are spread all over. Don't miss the one where you have to walk up a small wooden walkway, as it can be hard to see on the map. Bring a lantern to reduce frustration. Finish exploring and report your findings.

Supplier's Demand

- Talk to Madeleine at her store. Bring her either a bronze, silver, or gold idol. The easiest to find are the bronze. One is located in the Dragonforged's cave, another in Selene's house in the Witchwood. This quest needs to be completed before Madeleine leaves Gran Soren.

The Conspirators

- Talk to Fedel in the castle. Go to Soulflayer Canyon and retrieve his letter. It is located on a difficult to reach ledge. Mark the quest as a priority and follow the marker. You will either have to fall from an obscene height to reach it (only do this if you have a lot of HP), or slide down and steer your way towards it. May take a few tries to get there. Return the letter to Fedel.

Witch Hunt

- This quest will start when you are in Fountain Plaza. A group of people will be talking about going to lynch Selene. Go to the Witchwood to help her, then follow her into the southern portion of the swamp. Be sure to grab the Ancient Tablet after this quest is over to start "The Dragon's Tongue." This quest is time sensitive - wait too long and you won't be able to complete this.

World

A Parting Gift (The Abbey)

- After completing Talent In Bloom, talk to Clarus and give her a Pilgrim's Charm. The quest "Lost & Found" is required to have been completed before this quest is accessible.

Nameless Terror

- After meeting the duke, talk to the guard outside the southern gate to Gran Soren. You will have to defeat a group of assassin's who will only attack you at specific points at night.

  • Just outside the Ancient Quarry
  • Just past the northern bridge outside of Gran Soren, on the way to Windbluff Tower
  • Along the mountain road going to the Mountain Waycastle from Gran Soren
  • Just after the Mountain Waycastle, walking towards the Encampment
  • Provided you have finished the previous four, the last one will be just outside the entrance to Cassardis.

Supply & Demands (Windbluff Tower)

- Talk Ser Daerio. Deliver his message to either Ser Julien or the head guard.

Talent In Bloom (The Abbey)

- Talk to Quina once she is at The Abbey (either through the notice board escort quest, or waiting for her to show up there herself). She will give you a flower to give to certain people, such as the priest in Gran Soren. Fastest method to complete this quest, however, is to give it right back to her. The flower will die very fast, so stock up on stamina curatives if you are going to be taking it anywhere else. The quest "Lost & Found" is required to have been completed before this quest is accessible.

Thick as Thieves (Ruins of Heavenspeak Castle)

- There are two ways to start this one. Either talk to Betiah and feed a goblin to her pet ogre, or talk to Ophis and kill ten male bandits. If you are talking to Ophis, you must have either a party full of females, or a party of males dressed in women's clothing (which you can buy at The Black Cat in Gran Soren). She will attack males on sight.

Witchwood

Mettle Against Metal

- The southern swamp in the Witchwood. Accessible after completing the Witch Hunt quest. Defeat the metal golem by destroying his medallions. (Note: if you are a fighter class, be sure to bring someone who can use a bow with you. Magic does little damage against the medallions, and one is in a tree.)

The Dragon's Tongue

- After completing the Witch Hunt quest, pick up the Ancient Tablet from the grave she was standing at. Have the Dragonforged translate it.

After Completing the 2nd Set of Tasks for the Duke

Cassardis

Deeper Trouble

- Go back to the well. If a voice is calling you, go down, then eradicate the rest of the Saurion nest, including all of the eggs hanging from the walls. You have to have completed "Deep Trouble" in order for this quest to show up.

Gran Soren

Bad Business

- Receive from Katlyn at Madeleine's Shop after she abandons it. Talk to Nettie and Arsmith at the Alehouse, then go down to the aqueducts (near The Slums) and follow her out the gate.

Duchess in Distress

- Talk to Mirabelle outside the duke's demense. Go to The Blighted Manse at the northeast corner of the map and save Lady Aelinore. This quest may be dependent on having completed "Arousing Suspicion." Also, be careful -- if Lady Aelinore dies you will fail. This is also the only way you can get into The Blighted Manse and receive the Into the Manse trophy. This quest needs to be completed before Deny Salvation.

Wyvern seems to have a large spawn area, I encountered mine just outside the southern entrance to Gran Soren.

Anyway, I think it is a pretty good guide, kind of wish I wasn't almost done so I could use it. The only thing I could think of adding to improve it a great deal is maybe a side quest roadmap.

Good to know. =) This was the only area that I encountered one, but he flies around overhead in a giant loop, so I would imagine he gets a little off course a few times. The only major enemy I ever encountered outside the southern entrance was a griffin.

I'm still working out the best way to go about the side quests for the quickest playthrough. I did mine over 3 playthroughs, which definitely was not the most efficient method.

Thanks for the suggestion, though. I will be looking into adding it. =)

Ey... great effort in the guide dude... congrats & thanks for the hard job! just started to play this epic game and I have one Q. do you know how many time do you need to spend to complete the game for the first time? I mean aprox...

My first playthrough took me about 25 hours with a great deal of exploring. Realistically... probably somewhere around 15-25 hours, depending how much time you spend on side quests and exploration.

Overall, to get the platinum it took me approximately 90 hours, with a lot of stupid mistakes in there and some time accumulation from leaving it paused while I went out to do some other stuff.

I can confirm that you do not have to give Madeleine 1000g at the start of the game for this trophy. I was planning on giving her the 1000g on my 2nd play through for this trophy but after the escort quest and after the scene where you follow a NPC to spy on the knight and her I talked to Madeleine and this trophy popped.

Hope this helps.

It might be worth noting you can use your pawn to get this too... I was nearly there with my main character, but got it when buying the last skill my pawn hadn't unlocked first :)

Indeed, and if you want it quickly turn that pawn into the Warrior vocation, it has the least amount of skills to purchase.
