IsaacPlaystation321
there was no in-game map option to choose where you are going. without the map, I get lost in the game and feel like I have been around in circles trying to get where is the next objective. Doomsdayman
Welcome to 90s level design. Wolfenstein 3D had the same thing. Also sometimes there a signs hanging.
slayer6319
You know, that's a weird thing actually. I know the classic Doom and all of its sequels (there were several not on here, the lost episodes that take place on Jupiter before Doom II, Plutonia Experiment and Final Doom at least) actually had maps on PC, accessed by the tab button. Don't think Doom 3 and its sequels had maps though.
pdan
Since there's a trophy for a timed run-through, not having a map makes sense (to the developers). I was lost often. "Dammit - I've past this room/column/door/body/hatch/stairway three times now!" After three playthroughs I did marginally well.
BrokenBlade
That's what's good about the game, maze like level design and no hand holding you along the way, no boring linear point A to B while killing people on the way.
