Introduction:

Welcome, fellow DJs! If you were a DJ Hero the first time around, you’ll be pleased to know that this second run at DJ Heroism is a much more polished and exciting game. Not only is the music just as awesome this time around, but the User Interface has been greatly improved as well as some exciting game play elements have been added. Power Decks will make getting 5 stars a breeze.

First off, I have not experienced any glitches in this game. Cheats DO affect trophies, so don’t even think about it! Only one true play through is needed on Empire mode. All other trophies can be earned through Quickplay and Online. A very important note is that one of the trophies is for getting 5 stars on all the disc songs. So it would benefit you to start playing on Expert as soon as you feel comfortable with it.

Road Map

1. Calibrate your system and watch the credits.

This will earn you your first trophy, while making your play on point! En Sink? And why not get this silly credits trophy out of the way too? Credit Is Due

2. Tutorials.

This will show you the ropes, as well as get you a trophy: Higher Education

3. Empire Mode.

This is where you will earn most of your trophies. If you have a mic or headset, be sure to have it on and active when you’re playing to earn Go Crazy Broadway Style!, which forces you to have Vocals active in all mixes that support them.

4. Random Trophies Clean Up.

Go back and do the random trophies and clean up what you missed, and yes… 5 star every song on the disc to get You're The Best!. If you didn't already achieve Fades Of Fury, Scratching The Itch and Tappity Tap Tap Tappy during Empire Mode, you will most likely get these trophies during the clean up.

5. Online

As of February 12, 2020, the online servers have been shut down.

This will be a long, long grind. There will be a lot of rage quitters if you are winning by a lot, therefore ruining any streaks you had going. You can try your hand at boosting. Some tips will be included in the Special Notes section (found here).

It is absolutely necessary that you beat 10 people with a higher rank than you to get The Bigger They Are.... If you don’t get this before you reach level 50, then you've missed it.

1 Up is earned by earning a higher score than a friend. You have to be online, but don’t necessarily need to play the online mode for this one.

You will have to find matches online for DJ Battle modes if you do not have a second turntable locally in order to get Battle Ready.

Playing the different types of game modes online will get you trophies such as Accumulate, Chiggedy Check It Out, Like Bacon?, Mama Said... and Professional Face Remover.

Play long enough and use the tips in the Special Notes section to reach level 50 and earn Upgraded.

7. Platinum!

Congrats, you did it! (P) Platinum DJ Hero

SPECIAL NOTES

As mentioned above, online for this game can become frustrating. To make earning ranks online easier, you can attempt to boost with a friend. Some tips:

  • Inviting friends will not contribute to the online trophies. You must play with someone through match making.

  • It is possible to boost, however. Use the filters to your advantage! For example, set it to a 1 mix battle only, matching only with a rank higher than you (assuming your friend is the higher rank) and only have one game mode as “Yes.” Your friend should obviously do the same thing, but changing it to a lower rank filter.

  • You get bonuses for the mixes you do. You will earn a bonus for win streaks, as well as 100% a song. So play an easy song over and over again on a one mix battle, and you’ll be earning 100% bonuses as well as Win Streak bonuses in no time! You can earn up to 100 pts per won match after having a 10 match winning streak. 100% a song on medium and get 20 bonus points but 100% a song on expert and you get 50 bonus points!

  • If you aren’t planning on boosting, playing on Medium seems to be the thing everyone does. If you play on Hard or Expert, it will only benefit you in Streak or Accumulator, due to the fact that there are more notes. Any other game mode will benefit the lower difficulty player.

  • Lastly, do your best to keep the battle close. Dominating your opponent will more than likely cause them to rage quit, which will lose any streak you had going.

After you defeat each one, you will receive one of the six power decks. Defeat all the DJs to get all the Power Decks, and unlock this trophy. You should also unlock The Emperor if you have this unlocked.

48.jpg The Grandmixer (B) :tagequipment:

In Empire Mode beat DJ Qbert in each of his Battle Mixes.

DJ Qbert will show himself more than once during Empire mode. You will battle him once in Ibiza. Then when you beat him for the second time (in Ibiza: Encore), you will get this trophy.

10.jpg The Emperor (B) :tagequipment:

Win all the DJ Battle setlists in Empire mode.

This will come naturally during Empire mode. Each venue will have a well known DJ. DJ Qbert in Ibiza, David Guetta in London, RZA in Berlin, deadmau5 in Shanghai, Tiesto in Las Vegas, and DJ Qbert again in Ibiza: Encore. Beat each one in each venue to get this trophy. You should also unlock I Have The Power Decks! if you have this unlocked.

32.jpg Big Bad Boss (B) :tagequipment:

Beat all the employee DJs in Checkpoint Battles in Empire mode.

Playing through Empire mode, you will come across the employee DJs: DJ Kid Itch and Kitty Smash in London, Vunda Boy in Berlin, Mixy Trix and Cool Papa G in Shanghai, Jugglenort and Cleetus Cuts in Las Vegas and Candy Nova in Ibiza: Encore. Beat all these DJs and the trophy is yours!

21.jpg Master Of The Empire (B) :tagequipment:

Earn 12 stars in DJ Shadow's setlist in Empire mode on Medium difficulty or above.

See Supreme Master Of The Empire.

22.jpg Grand Master Of The Empire (S) :tagequipment:

Earn 12 stars in DJ Shadow's setlist in Empire mode on Hard difficulty or above.

See Supreme Master Of The Empire.

23.jpg Supreme Master Of The Empire (G) :tagequipment:

Earn 12 Stars in DJ Shadow's setlist in Empire mode on Expert difficulty.

This trophy will also get you Master Of The Empire and Grand Master Of The Empire if you haven’t already got them. To get this, you need to play Empire mode until you reach DJ Shadow’s setlist. You must play on Expert. Pick a power deck that you’re comfortable with. I recommend the Multiplier deck. You only need 4 stars in each mix to get the total 12 stars. Or 5 stars, 4 stars and 3 stars. Or whatever combination that will give you 12 stars.

47.jpg World Number One (B) :tagequipment:

Earn at least 3 stars in each of the mixes in the Tiësto Megamix (in Quickplay, Megamixes, Empire or Star Battle).

You can tackle this one of four ways.

1) This is probably the most logical. Just play until you get to the Tiesto Megamix in your Empire mode and get 3 stars in each mix.

2) After unlocking the Megamix, you can select Megamixes in the main menu and play it from there.

3) You can play each song in the Megamix in quick play.

4) You can play each song in the Megamix in online matches.

Option (1) is your best bet. Just get at least 3 stars in each song in the Megamix for this trophy.

07.jpg Fades of Fury (B) :tagequipment:

Successfully perform 20,000 crossfades (in any mode except Party Play).

This will come with time depending on which difficulty you play. The higher the difficulty, the more crossfades there will be. Playing through Empire Mode will get you there, if not, very close.

06.jpg Scratching The Itch (B) :tagequipment:

Successfully perform 25,000 scratches (in any mode except Party Play).

This will come with time depending on which difficulty you play. The higher the difficulty, the more scratches there will be. Playing through Empire Mode will get you there, if not, very close.

39.jpg Tappity Tap Tap Tappy (B) :tagequipment:

Successfully perform 50,000 taps (in any mode except Party Play).

This will come with time depending on which difficulty you play. The higher the difficulty, the more taps there will be. Playing through Empire Mode will get you there, if not, very close.

17.jpg The Magic Number (B) :tagequipment:

Play a mix in Quickplay with another DJ and a Vocalist (in local play only).

This is the trophy you need all the peripherals for. You need two (2) DJ Hero turntables and a headset or microphone. Get all three active and play a song in Quickplay.

11.jpg Freestyle Superstar (B) :tagequipment:

Get an A for Freestyling in any mix (in any mode except Party Play).

After you do the tutorials, you will know how Freestyling works. Getting in some mixes to practice Freestyling is a great way to understand what good Freestyling is. You should earn this by the time you’re through Empire Mode.

36.jpg Me Like You Long Time (B) :tagequipment:

Apply 'Like' tags to 10 mixes and play these mixes (in any game mode except Party Play).

In quickplay, “Like" 10 songs and save them all to a setlist. Press :triangle: to "Like" a song. Add the song to a setlist with :square: or the blue tap button. When you have 10 songs, press :select: and select "Save Setlist". This will cover one of the saved setlists needed for Mixtape Creation. Playing this 10 song setlist will also get you The Quickathlon (so long as you 4-star each song in the setlist). See The Quickathlon for more info.

03.jpg The Quickathlon (S) :tagequipment:

Set up and play a 10 mix setlist in Quickplay, earning at least 4 stars for each mix.

As mentioned in Me Like You Long Time. Just play the setlist you saved with the 10 songs you liked. Play on a difficulty you are comfortable with because you will need 4 stars in each mix.

19.jpg Mixtape Creation (B)

Set up and save 3 setlists in Quickplay.

You should have at least one setlist saved from Me Like You Long Time. Now you just need to create and save two more setlists. Again, just add the song to a setlist with :square: or the blue tap and press :select: and choose "Save Setlist".

40.jpg To The Left (B) :tagequipment:

Only crossfade to the left in all Freestyle sections in any mix (in any mode except Party Play).

Play any song with Crossfader Freestyle sections and only Crossfade to the left while in these Freestyle sections.

41.jpg Six Spins To Win (B) :tagequipment:

Activate 6 rewinds in Show Me Love (Stonebridge Radio Edit) / I'm Not Alone mix (in any mode except Party Play).

Play the Show Me Love (Stonebridge Radio Edit) / I'm Not Alone mix, and use 6 rewinds. Get a streak of 50 to get a rewind, then use it immediately. When you get back to the spot you used the rewind, the counter will begin again. When you get the next 50 notes, you will get another rewind. Make sure you keep your streak alive to get this trophy.

24.jpg Rewind 4 The Win (B) :tagequipment:

Perform 4 720' rewinds in a single mix, on any difficulty level without dropping your multiplier (in any mode except Party Play).

When you get a streak of 60, you will be rewarded with a rewind. To get a 720‘ rewind, just perform a rewind with the turntable, but instead of only letting the turntable rotate once, let it go around twice before getting back into position. After you perform the 720‘ rewind, you will have to be perfect until you get back to the place you used the rewind. Perform 3 more of these in a song to get the trophy. The longer the song, the better chance you'll have of getting 4 rewinds. The trophy will pop when the song ends.

45.jpg Super Streak (S) :tagequipment: :tagdifficulty:

Get a 400 streak in I Will Be Here / Speed Rail on Expert (in any mode except Party Play).

This one might seem scary at first, but it can be pretty easy (given you’re comfortable with Expert). The beginning of the song is rather easy compared to the end, so the earlier you can get the 400 streak the better. A quick tip for those having problems: You don’t have to hold those held taps. As long as you tap it at the beginning, it will count in your streak. Releasing it will NOT lose your streak. Also, Rewinding will NOT count toward your streak. So it is best if you use the Euphoria deck.

46.jpg Microphonical Magic! (B) :tagequipment:

Get a 200 vocal streak in any vocal mix (in any mode except Party Play).

Using your microphone, play any song with vocals and get a 200 vocal streak. Pick a straight rap song such as ?Busta Rhymes - Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See/ House of Pain - Jump Around. Since vocal pick up isn’t the greatest on this game, you may find yourself having a hard time getting a streak going. You can try blowing into the mic, tapping it or rubbing it against a couch cushion.

18.jpg Perfect Pitch (B) :tagequipment:

Hit 100% of the vocal notes in a mix (in any mode except Party Play).

You will need to hit all of the notes in a song for this trophy. Similar to Microphonical Magic, pick a straight rap song such as ?Busta Rhymes - Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See/ House of Pain - Jump Around. Since vocal pick up isn’t the greatest on this game, you may find yourself having a hard time getting every single not. You can try blowing into the mic, tapping it or rubbing it against a couch cushion. Just stay patient and vigilant and you will get it.

25.jpg Go Crazy Broadway Style (S) :tagequipment:

Perform Vocals in every mix that supports them (in any mode except Party Play).

As mentioned in the Introduction, you should have the Vocals activated at all times. You don’t necessarily have to sing as the sound from the game will get picked up a little and you’ll get some points. Every song that supports vocals has to be played through with the Vocals active. You can track your progress in the Trophies section of the Rep menu.

Another method is to make long setlists in Quickplay and have the Vocals active. You don’t even need to be there to get a score, you just have to play through each song with Vocals on. So you can set up a long setlist, play it and walk away for a half hour. Rinse, repeat.

42.jpg At Least Your Tried… (H)(B) :tagequipment: :tagdifficulty:

Fail to 5 star Galvanize on Expert difficulty.

How kind of them... get anything but 5 stars for Galvanize on Expert and you’ll get this trophy.

43.jpg You’re Golden (H)(B) :tagequipment: :tagdifficulty:

5 star Galvanize on Expert difficulty.

Galvanize is one of the more difficult songs in the game. The Euphoria deck can be extremely helpful for the extreme crossfading sections. Youtuber Chrisdgaf13 has posted his run and it is available for you to view in the spoiler below.

Spoiler

44.jpg Hot Swedish Action (H)(B) :tagequipment:

In any Battle get an A for Scratching, a B for Taps, a B for Crossfading and an A for Freestyling.

This is a tricky trophy. You will need to be in a Battle to even attempt this trophy, whether it be local play (with 2 turntables) or online. You need to get rank A for Scratching and Freestyling while getting rank B for Taps and Crossfading. It will take some experimenting to get the proper ranks.

If you have two turntables and can do it locally and an easy way to do this is to play Snow-Informer vs Jackson 5-ABC. Do nothing for the first two checkpoints (except for the effects dial) and then ace the rest of the song. Easy as that!

14.jpg The Completist (H)(B) :tagequipment: :tagdifficulty:

Earn 5 stars for any mix at all difficulty levels.

Pick a mix and 5 star it on every difficulty. Pick your favorite of the first 3 tracks to do it with because they are quite easy on Expert.

12.jpg You’re The Best! (H)(B) :tagequipment: :tagdifficulty:

Earn 5 stars for every mix on Expert difficulty.

Oh yes, they brought it back. Five star EVERY mix on Expert. You can keep track of what songs you have completed by liking the song when you have 5-starred it on Expert. You can see what songs you have completed in the bar below the song selection. It will first show you details about the song, but after you’ve highlighted a song for a few seconds, it will switch to a leaderboard and show you how you’ve done on the song and what difficulty you’ve played on. Use the “Like” feature and this leaderboard in combination to keep track. And good luck!

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say some things that may or may not help other people since they helped me get to lvl 50 (i said may or may not, anyhow...).

1st Tip

You can pretty much destroy anybody in online battles if you play accumulator against them and they are playing on a lower difficulty, why?, well if you play in hard and you play against someone on normal, you are probably gonna get at least 100 more notes than them PLUS they like 3/5 times are gonna think "what is he thinking? im playing on an easier difficulty, ill totally destroy him"..... not the case, remember Accumulator, and needless to say you need to be able to play songs decently in normal against easy or hard against normal, if it comes the other way around, always choose galvanize and firestarter.

2nd Tip

I didnt know this, and no one will tell you (before me... chan chan), if you play 10 battles in a row, wether you lose, you win, or someone chickens out you will get 100 points, just like that, 100 points if you play 10 battles in a row, without leaving the online menu, important, dont leave the online menu, im not sure if it matters, but i think it does, just be safe and dont exit online mode at all.

3rd Tip

If you win 2 battles in a row you get a streak bonus, if you win 2 battles in a row, you get 20 points, 3 battles in a row 30 points.... and so on, at 10 battles it stops going up (you will never get to 10 battles in a row............someone will quit, i can assure you), best strategy? play 10 battles, no matter the results, if at the end your streak is 20 preferably get offline, reset the game, get online again and you 10 battles will start counting again, needless to say if your streak at the end is 70, DONT STOP PLAYING.....but someone will quit.... my max winning streak is 7, then someone quit, it hurt my soul...

4th Tip

If you see this psn Jorge_l_marrero and he is in accumulator and he is playing in a difficulty higher than yours, dont play him, that would be me and i will hit you for not listening.

Note: i know it sounds pretty cheap, but note that i play on hard if someone plays on hard, if someone plays on medium or someone plays on expert, and i have a friend who wanted rematch, i played her in every single battle mode in private matches (no points earned) for as long as she wanted, im always up for a rematch, i have my off times and when i lose i want t rematch too.

i got a way to geo to lvl 50 fast you just need to find somebody that is available to help, you just need 12,800 dj points aprox. so just get a setlist of 5 song better songs that you get 100% you just need to win 40 games (50 dj points per song plus 50 additional bonus) you get 300 dj points every setlist, if you success with the 40 setlist you will be 12,000 dj points. The other points that you need you will get winning for the others trophies chekpoin, steak, star battle.

if you dont get 100% try with checkpoint getting 100% until no more checkpoints.

I try this and i got the lvl 50 for my brother aprox. 8 - 10 hours and done

I'm about halfway through finishing this game, and I realised that I don't have a second turntable.... :| Is there any way to glitch it, or trick it into thinking you have two?

Nope, well at least none that I know of :(. The (P) for this game is ranked as one of the most expensive to get due to needing an actual 2nd Turntable to get it.

Just from looking at the trophies now this seems like something I could work for. Would just need someone to play for the 10 wins against a higher rank trophy. Thankfully my parents have a thing for buying music games with peripherals whenever they see them on sale so I have a ton of plastic spacewasters at home. I agree it would be quite expensive to go for this for most people. I would just need to get another copy of the game and I could boost it by myself.
