Introduction

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record sees Frank West return in a remastered version of Dead Rising 2, not much has changed in the game apart from the exception of a new player (Frank instead of Chuck), also a new area called Uranus Zone.

There are a few more added features such as; new survivors, new side case files and new combo weapons. There's also the newly added gamemode Sandbox, which sees the player in Fortune city with an infinite timer and no case files to do; only challenges and zombie killing.

I preferred this game a lot more than Dead Rising 2. The trophies are a lot better and you don't have to do shit tons of grinding. The only grinding trophy is killing 100,000 zombies and that's not as bad as you think. The platinum is a lot easier than Dead Rising 2 and the only parts that may prove difficult are the ones such as 'Alpha vs Omega or the big grinding trophy 'Six Digits!?!'

I hope this guide helps you get you platinum, good luck!

Walkthrough

Step 1: Complete the Main Cases & Photo Trophies (Including PP Stickers)

The First thing you want to do is start a new game and only really focus on the main case files. Be careful to always arrive on time to each main case file, if you're too late the game will fail and the truth will be lost and you'll therefore miss out on trophies during that playthrough, so make sure you always check your watch so you know when main cases start etc. The full 72hrs takes 6 real game hours to count down and then after that there's an additional 24hrs, so you're looking at about 8hrs to complete this step. For the time between the main cases make sure to go for as many photo trophies and misc trophies as you can. They're pretty easy and you don't have to hugely go out your way to get them. Also you will want to take a photo of 75 different PP stickers in fortune city, the stickers are tiny little photos and they're pretty well hidden. See the guide for some videos of all the PP stickers.

At the end of this step you will have all trophies tied to the main case files including the final boss fight in overtime. You should also have all (if not most) photo trophies and a few (if not most) misc trophies, however it's best to save some of the misc trophies for your new game + playthrough.

Step 2: New Game +

Once you've beaten the game start a new game on the same file with new game +. On this step you will want to mainly focus on 'Alpha vs Omega' and the trophy for not eating or drinking any alcohol, dairy or meat. For more info refer to the guide.

Right, I'll tell you to follow this in the order I did it to get the trophies. Firstly, I went for cramped quarters. I managed to get it before starting Case 2-1. I firstly recruited Denyce and then went straight to Yucatan and killed Ted but left Snowflake. Then after that I got the couple in Royal Flush plaza. That made it 3. I then went and got bill from Americana Casino (Need to pay him $25,000 for him to follow you). After that I got the 2 in palisades mall (Kennethand his friend). This made it 6. I then went back to Yucatan after finishing the final part of case 1 and snowflake automatically joined me, after that I recruited the guy in the back room who's scared of Snowflake. This made it 8 (Including Snowflake). Now you want to get rid of Snowflake, bring all the survivors back to the entrance of the safehouse and tell them to wait by the maintenance room. Then enter the Safehouse. Snowflake will appear in the safehouse even if she's nowhere near the entrance to the safehouse. This brings your total down to 7 people. Shortly after this you'll get a message about a guy crying in the Palisades Mall art gallery. Go to him and buy the painting off him, now you have 8 people. Go to the silver strip and outside the church is the clown car (Only vehicle that can fit 8 people in). Get in it and press :triangle: to honk the horn and get the survivors in the car. Once all 8 get in the trophy will pop shortly afterwards. For more info check out the trophy 'Cramped Quarters'.

You also want to get to lvl 47 to unlock all the skill moves for the trophy that requires it. For a PP exploit see that trophy.

Now you need to just do 'Alpha vs Omega' and the other misc trophies you may have missed. For more info see the trophy guide. At the end of this step you should have every single-player story trophy and anything that relates to it.

Step 3: Sandbox Mode Challenges (Singleplayer & co-op), Also kill 100,000 zombies

Now you move onto Sandbox mode. This is a new mode in DR2: OFT. It's basically just free roam, you don't have to do any cases files, you don't have a timer ticking down and you don't have a safehouse. The only thing you can do in sandbox mode is complete challenges and kill zombies.

The first thing you'll want to do is gold all 30 singleplayer challenges. Most of them are not very difficult if you use the 'Super BFG' (Combine Blast Frequency Gun & Amplifier). But for some you're stuck on, look up the specific challenge on YouTube. After getting all 30 golds in singleplayer you're basically done with the singleplayer sandbox mode (Only thing left to do is 100,000 zombie kills). At the end of this step you'll have the 4 singleplayer sandbox trophies.

Now you need to move onto the co-op challenges. They're not much different to the singleplayer ones, except this time you have a co-op partner. I again advise you to use the 'Super BFG' for most of them and the 'Bombstick' for the PP challenges. After this you should have all the trophies relating to co-op sandbox.

The last thing you need to do in sandbox now is killing 10,000 and 100,000 zombies. The best method to use is the slice cycle or the SUV, whichever you prefer. This is a really boring grind trophy and can take in advance of 8hrs just to reach 100,000. This should be the last trophy you need for platinum. For more info on the zombie killing trophies see the trophy guide. At the end of this step you should have your platinum, congrats! If not continue to step 4.

Step 4: Clean up

Missed a misc trophy in singleplayer? or gave up on getting a gold medal in sandbox mode? Well now's your chance to go back and clear up the remaining trophies you need. You really shouldn't have missed anything though.

Simply collect all 50 trophies to unlock this platinum, congrats!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/02.jpgPhoto School (B)

Take a high PP value picture.

The trophy requires you to take a photo of over 1000pp. You can achieve this in one of the first sequences in the game where you have to photograph TK and Brandon. To take a photo press and hold :l2: then hold :r1: and then :square: to take the photo. For best photo results use the zoom function by pressing :circle:. A perfect place at the start is to keep watching TK and Brandon and then when Brandon is holding the Bomb and the money case take a good photo, I got 1100pp first try. The trophy will pop a few seconds after taking a 1000pp photograph.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/03.jpgPhoto Journalist (B)

Get back in the game by gaining lots of PP from pictures.

This trophy requires you to earn a total of 10,000pp from all the pictures you've taken. This will come naturally as you play the game and keep taking photos. A good place to farm this trophy is during day 2 you'll be given a case called 'Here Comes The Groom', if you go to the cases location and then watch the cutscene. As soon as it's over run outside and wait about 2mins real time. Go back in there and the psychopath will have the bride in a chokehold, position yourself behind the first row of seats on the right and zoom right in on your camera. Keep taking photos of him and you'll get 5000pp each photo and you can do this as long as you want (Until the case expires or a main case needs to be completed).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/04.jpgAdult Content (B)

Take an extremely erotic picture.

This trophy requires you to take a erotica themed photo over 1000pp. This can be earned in many ways, such as taking photos of barely clothed survivors such as Europa or Deidre, any survivor that will play strip poker will also work, keep playing until a female loses all her clothes, then take a photo. For best results get as much of the boobs and the crotch in the photo at a good angle. If you can't do it this way then try going to 'Uranus Zone', (accessed via fortune park) and go to the stand in the middle of the map near the carney games which says 'Souvenirs' on it. Inside you will see 4 alien probes behind the counter. Line up your shot and take the photo, it got me about 2000pp so you're guaranteed to get the trophy if you take the photo right.

Another very easy way is during Case 5 you have to fight two pyschopaths as part of a main case. Take a photo of one of them and you'll get 2000pp for just one picture!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/05.jpgMixed Messages (B)

Take a picture with elements of horror, brutality, outtake and erotica in a single shot.

In the Royal Flush Plaza right next to the safehouse is a poster (Near the entrance to Americana Casino) with a Uranus girl with a lot of cleavage showing, this will be the erotica part of the photo. Now get a stick pony or fountain firework I did it with a stick pony (Closest one can be found in the 'ye old toy shop' on the bottom floor of Royal Flush Plaza). Now once you have your stick pony go to that poster near the entrance to Americana Casino, ram the pony into a zombie get back a bit and take a photo. In the photo you should have; Uranus girl, zombies, zombie with pony in it. Having all this will get you the trophy. You will know if you have the trophy as on the point counting screen you should see, Horror, Brutality, Outtake and Erotica. If all 4 categories show, the trophy will pop slightly after. If you're having difficulty see PowerPyx's method in the video below.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/06.jpgRaw Emotion (B)

Take a photo of a survivor in a very dramatic situation.

You have to take a photo of a survivor in a dramatic situation (Hurt survivor, Survivors getting attacked by zombies) and get over 1000pp from the shot and it needs to be a mainly drama photo. There are many places in the game to do it and your earliest chance is during the side case 'welcome to the family' which will appear at some point on the 25th. There are 2 survivors in the store, one is fighting off zombies and the others hiding in the corner. Take a photo of both of them and make sure you're zoomed in enough and have a good shot, if you get over 1000pp in the drama category the trophy will unlock. There's plenty of other places to do it such as using the PP exploit in the case 'Here comes the groom'. Another perfect spot for this is in during the side case 'Industrial Fashion' which occurs on the 26th. Go to the girl lying on the floor and take a good photo of her, You will get over 1000pp for just taking a photo of her. See PowerPyx's video below if you're having trouble.

Photograph 75 PP stickers.

PP Stickers are very small stickers scattered around fortune city. They are basically just in areas where a photographer would take a photo, e.g. The silver strip letters in fortune park. You have to take a photo of 75 of these stickers and there's a lot more than 75 in the game so the trophy doesn't need them all. You can just walk around with your camera up and then if you look at the bar at the top of the camera screen as soon as it goes up then a PP sticker is in view. Upon taking the photo of your 75th sticker the trophy will unlock. For a guide see PowerPyx's video below.

Rescue a damsel in distress from the Twin Terrors.

This is story related if you're successfully arriving on time to each main case file. During case 5-2 you are required to get $1,000,000 to be able to even start the case file. You will need to bring the money to the Shoal nightclub up the escalators in the Yucatan Casino at 7pm to start the case file. Once you start kill one of the psychopaths and the other will kill themselves, so only focus on one of them to make your life easier. After the cutscene the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/23.jpgSave the Girl... Again (B)

Save the damsel in distress a second time.

This is story related if you're successfully arriving on time to each main case file. This occurs on the case 7-2. After the cut scene of the military arriving go to the destination which the arrow points to go in the underground section. Once in the underground (by going through the recently broken gate) go past the army SUV to start the boss fight. He's fairly easy. Just dodge his attacks and hit him from behind with the spiked bat or another melee weapon. Make sure you bring some food as when he does hurt you he takes off a lot of your health. Trophy will unlock after the cutscene has finished or during the cutscene.

Destroy a 'harvester'.

This is story related if you're successfully arriving on time to each main case file. During the case file 'The Facts' their pod like things are scattered about the strip, each one is guarded by 3 well mercenaries. Each harvester has a health meter above it and you have to repeatedly hit them to destroy them. Once you have destroyed one of them the trophy will pop. You have to destroy them as part of 'the facts' anyway.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/25.jpgTrue Colors (B)

Defeat the mastermind of the Fortune City incident.

This is story related if you're successfully arriving on time to each main case file. At first I thought the mastermind was the dreadlock guy at the very start but it isn't. This boss fight occurs after completing the case 'The Facts' and the fight takes place in the Uranus Zone. The boss will take a long time to kill but you will kill him/her/it eventually. See the spoiler below for more info. Don't open the spoiler if you don't want to know the final boss.

[spoiler=uranusboss]The last boss is a huge machine with claws that is being controlled by Stacey. Firstly when the machine slaps it's claws down climb onto the claw and start attacking the part where the claw joins the arm. After you've knocked his health all the way down you then need to destroy its other claws, this time the claws will jab the floor in quick succession 3 times before getting stuck, once the claw becomes stuck start attacking it like crazy. After this its arms will fall off and reveal rocket launchers in the boxes, climb onto one and press :circle: to send rockets up. Now Stacey's cockpit will be on the floor, run up to it and press :circle: to start a quick time sequence which is pretty easy. Do this quicktime sequence successfully 3 times and the boss will die. The trophy will unlock durimg the cutscene.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/26.jpgSave the Girl... Yet Again (B)

Save a damsel in distress for the third and final time.

Missable!

Warning: There's a nasty glitch on this boss fight, the glitch is that you can't revive the girl. The option isn't there and she will die eventually and the boss fight will fail. To avoid this save a while before the fight and go to the boss. If you can't revive the girl re-load and try again.

You have to trigger 'Overtime mode' at the end of the game to unlock this part to trigger it you must give the man at the end Zombrex. You need to collect various items for the boss at the start of overtime. The boss fight is annoying and is similar to the overtime boss in Dead Rising 2. He really isn't that hard but you have to keep reviving the 'damsel in distress' to keep her alive or you'll fail the case. Make sure you only go up to revive her when the boss has run off (To revive her keep mashing :cross:), best weapon to use against the boss is the spiked bat or sledgehammer. The trophy will unlock after the cutscene.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/27.jpgNo Zombies in the Vents (B)

Unlock the secret shortcut.

Missable!

During the 26th at about midday you will get a side case file called 'wilted flower', you have to go to the location in Palisades Mall to find Lynette. You need to give her a drink to continue with the case file so go get her the coffee outside of the store of if you have something in your inventory give that to her instead. Once you've given her the drink go to the store 'Brand New U' which is also in Palisades Mall. Go to the back of the store and you'll see the changing rooms, this is the secret shortcut and it's very useful. Go through it and the trophy will unlock shorty afterwards. The case will only spawn if there's enough room in the in game world (Maximum of 8 survivors and Pyschopaths can be loaded at any one time).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/28.jpgTeam Player (B)

Avert a mutiny.

Missable!

To unlock this trophy you have to have completed the side case called 'Hunger Pains' which will occur on the 27th. After completing the side case and bringing Richard back to the safehouse you will get a side case called 'Snake in the Grass' in which Richard asks you to go retrieve an Erotic Magazine from Hot Exorimita which is located on the Strip. Once you get the magazine and bring it back to him you will have prevented a mutiny and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/29.jpgPowered Up (B)

Restore power to the Yucatan Casino.

Missable!

You can do this at any point in the game. From the very start if you do the Zombrex case first and inject yourself go to the Yucatan Casino. Upon stepping into this casino you'll see a cutscene with the psychopaths Ted & Snowflake. You need to kill Ted and then either tame or kill snowflake, (Easiest way is to kill snowflake, get the trophy, then re load an earlier save). Right after you've done that look straight at the snowflake pen (Rocky area) now turn to your left and then run towards the wall, now turn left again and run until you meet a counter desk and a door. Go into this door to find the office, Lenny is in here. Now snowflake is gone Lenny will go outside the office. He will lead you to a door that only he can open; inside is a generator. Go up to it and turn it on with :circle: when prompted to turn the power back on. Trophy will pop shortly afterwards.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/30.jpgOut With the Old (B)

Defeat the motorcycle-riding psychopath. [story Mode Only]

Missable!

During the 26th, at around 3.00pm you'll get an alert on your earpiece about a guy on a motorcycle in fortune park. Go there to trigger the case file and start the boss fight.

He's pretty annoying to kill.. as he's on a motorbike with chainsaws attached. Easiest way I found to do it: stay where you start the fight, there are blue rails surrounding patches of grass and trees. You will want to lure the boss into these rails so he crashes (sort of). While he's struggling have at him with the spiked bat or another good melee weapon. Be warned, if he gets to far away he'll start regaining health and also throw Molotov's at you. Once you've knocked his health all the way down the trophy will pop during the cut scene.

WARNING: This will not unlock if your connected to somebody in co-op and you're not the host.

Another easy trophy, this time you need to kill 1337 zombies. You may unlock this during the story play-through, I personally finished my first play-through with 2000 kills.

If you didn't get it in the story get it in sandbox mode instead as you need zombie kills to unlock challenges.

Kill 12,345 zombies. [Host Only]

WARNING: This will not unlock if your connected to somebody in co-op and you're not the host.

There is no way you're going to unlock this trophy during story mode. Unless you're killing zombies like crazy.

I advise you do this do this trophy in sandbox mode as you need zombie kills to unlock challenges.

Kill 100,000 zombies. [Host Only]

WARNING: This will not unlock if your connected to somebody in co-op and you're not the host.

Note: Don't even bother attempting this outside of sandbox mode as there's no way you can kill 100,000 zombies in 72hrs.

If you thought Dead Rising 2's 72,000 trophy was bad.. then you're in luck. This trophy is not as bad as it seems and you can earn it in Sandbox mode. Sandbox mode has an infinite timer so you don't need to worry about running out of time. There are many ways to grind this trophy, if you've played DR2 we will be using similar methods. You can use the durability magazines if you want but they're really not needed as you'll run out of zombies before the vehicle will break. After every 7,500 zombies I highly urge you to save your game, use the save point in-between the rocks in fortune park. Here are the best ways to grind this trophy:

  • The SUV - Firstly you will want to make sure you have the red SUV. It's located on the silver strip inside a small casino. In order to get the keys you have to visit the pawn shop directly opposite the SUV. The keys for it cost $2,500,000 which is a crazy price for an SUV (If you have all 3 bargaining magazines in your inventory it's only $1,750,000). Once you have the SUV you will want to keep running laps around The Strip and Fortune Park and the surrounding areas. There's no 'right' way to drive, just drive into the places where there's more zombies than others. When you feel you're running low on zombies enter any other area then come back, this will refresh all the zombies. You can also start the road challenge on the Strip which will spawn a ton of zombies in the surrounding areas. Using this method to get from 0 - 100,000 kills will take about 7 - 12hrs.

  • Slice cycle - To make the slice cycle you first need to go to the trailer that your bikes kept in (Outside the main entrance to Yucatan Casino). Once you've found it you need to combine a chainsaw to it. The quickest way to find the chainsaw is to go to the stage on silver strip, looking at it from head on, climb onto it. Now you will notice speakers on the left and right hand sides, climb up on the speakers on the left. You will come to a metal railing, jump onto this (be careful not to fall) and at the end of it is a chainsaw. Bring this chainsaw back to the trailer and combine it to your bike. Now you have your slice cycle go out and do some killing. The SC is very effective at killing zombies but the snipers can still shoot you off of it, so I recommend using the SUV to be safe. When you feel you're running low on zombies enter any other area then come back, this will refresh all the zombies. You can also start the challenge on the silver strip '' which will spawn a ton of zombies in the surrounding areas. Using this method to get from 0 - 100,000 kills will take about 6 - 11hrs.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/35.jpgDominoes (B)

Use the Jump Kick to knock down 100 zombies.

NOTE: You can't keep kicking the same zombie, it has to be 100 different ones.

At the very start of the game you will have this ability. To jump kick, while running press :cross: to jump and then :square: while in the air to jump kick. Easiest way is to go into large groups of zombies and kick. Kicking one of them will knock down between 5 - 10 zombies and these other zombies count for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/36.jpgPrestigious PP (B)

Get over 2,000 PP from a single zombie kill.

NOTE: Below method won't work if you don't have the combo card for the Boomstick.

Firstly you will want to get the combo card for the Boomstick and you get it by getting a gold medal in the first challenge in sandbox mode on the roof, you need to kill 40 zombies in 1 minute to get gold. To make this you need a shotgun (usually found on zombie police, or banks) and a pitchfork (one near the save point in the middle of fortune park). Once you have the two items go into any maintenance room and make it. Now find a zombie and with the Boomstick out press and hold :square: near a zombie to lift them in the air and shoot them. This will net you a guaranteed 2,500pp per kill. The trophy will pop shortly afterwards.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/37.jpgMaintaining the City (B)

Visit 10 different maintenance rooms.

This is a very easy trophy, you just have to visit 10 'DIFFERENT' maintenance rooms, you don't have to build anything, just open the doors and step inside then leave, you will get this very early on in the game if you walk into every maintenance room you see. A maintenance room is marked on the map as a silver shield with a tool in the middle.

Upon walking into your 10th Maintenance room you'll get a message 'Willamete security clothes' unlocked. The trophy will pop shortly afterwards.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/38.jpgNew Hotness (B)

Build one of the combo weapons new to Dead Rising 2: Off The Record.

A very easy way to get this trophy is to go to Fortune Park. You will notice two large rocks and an alley between the two. There is a hedge trimmer on this pathway. Pick it up and bring it to the maintenance room right next to you. On the shelf in this maintenance room is a knife. Combine it with the grass cutter to make a new combo weapon for DR2: OTR. The trophy will pop shortly after making it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/39.jpgCard Collection (B)

Collect 20 combo cards.

Trophy will unlock upon collecting your 20th combo card. Comb cards can be obtained from the following; Psychopaths, leveling up and hidden posts.

NOTE: Scratch Cards do NOT count towards the total. You actually have to get the combo card.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/40.jpgCard Archive (B)

Collect 50 combo cards.

There's 65 total combo cards in this game, but you're only required to get 50 of them. The trophy will unlock upon collecting your 50th combo card. Combo cards can be obtained from the following; Defeating Psychopaths, leveling up and hidden posters. Don't worry too much about this trophy, you get loads of them for golding challenges and leveling up.

NOTE: Scratch Cards do NOT count towards the total. You actually have to get the combo card.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/41.jpgHands of Doom (B)

Unlock all skill moves.

The last skill move disembowel is unlocked at level 47. For a good PP exploit read on. A good place to farm this trophy is during day 2 you'll be given a case called 'Here Comes The Groom', if you go to the case's location and then watch the cutscene. As soon as it's over, run outside and wait about 2mins real time. Go back in there and the psychopath will have the bride in a chokehold; position yourself behind the first row of seats on the right and zoom right in on your camera. Keep taking photos of him and you'll get 5000pp each photo and you can do this as long as you want (Until the case expires or a main case needs to be completed). This will NOT work in sandbox mode.

NOTE: Exploit doesn't work with patch 1.01 installed

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/42.jpgWe Have a Winner! (B)

Play a carney game and win.

The only place where you can play carney games is in Uranus zone. For the purpose of the guide we'll do the asteriod and galaxy spirals option. Pay on the rocket to play, now just successfully throw the rockets into the 3 spiral galaxies behind. You will know when you've won as you get an 'Environment Bonus' pop up. This can be done on any game in the Uranus Zone though, So play whatever you want. Trophy will pop shortly after winning the game. I played a game in sandbox mode but it wasn't doing anything so I went back to story mode. Then when I was fighting the pyschopath Brandon, it randomly popped up for no reason.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/43.jpgBest of Friends (B)

Defeat 5 psychopaths in co-op.

NOTE: This doesn't have to be done in one sitting, or one play-through. You can do it with another person to the one you started with if you wish. But you have to kill 5 different psychopaths. The best thing to do is during singleplayer make a separate save in slot 2 or 3 when the snipers appear in fortune park. If you do this and then load the save in co-op mode you can kill them all and each will count as a pyschopath kill, saves a lot of time.

Sometimes you fight 2 psychopaths at once, but only one counts e.g. The twins. The trophy will unlock upon killing your 5th boss in co-op.

See the co-op thread for partners: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/dead-rising-2-off-record/129013-co-op-partner-thread-read-first-post.html

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/44.jpgSafety Check: Failed (B)

Use the amusement park rides to kill 10 zombies at once.

In 'Uranus Zone' there's many rides here that can be used to kill zombies. The one I'm going to mention in the guide is the easiest way.

Firstly get to Uranus Zone. Now locate the UFO ride, you'll notice there's barricades around the outside of it, remove as many as you feel is needed. Now you can either lure the zombies onto the UFO by:

A) Using the good ol fashion luring them with yourself.

B) Get some firecrackers, fireworks etc. Anything that attracts zombies.

Wait until you can see 10 on the ride and then press on the panel near the ride to activate it. It will definitely kill every zombie near it and the trophy will pop shortly after.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/45.jpgCramped Quarters (B)

Get 8 survivors into a vehicle.

Note: Snowflake will not get in the clown car (who'd have thought?) so make sure you don't tame it and have it following you. To get rid of her just keep hurting her until she dies.

This isn't that bad, the only annoying thing is the games engine will only load 8 survivors/psychopaths at any one time. So if you have 7 survivors following you and no more survivor side cases are appearing there must be a psychopath that needs killing somewhere. Kill them and you should get a survivor case. Once you have 8 survivors following you, you're good to go. I recommend getting the leadership book from Rags Mags in Palisades Malls upper floor, it greatly improves survivors performance.

Now you need to get 8 of them into the 'clown car'. It's harder than it sounds. The clown car is located outside the Church 'swept away' on the Strip, but after the side case 'snow job' it will be located by the entrance to the arena. The other one is in the Uranus Zone, I advise going for this one as there's not as many zombies as there is in platinum/silver strip and fortune park. Use firecrackers to distract zombies if needed. Now you have to get all 8 into the car. First get in the clown car and keep pressing :triangle: so that the survivors will get in it. Once all 8 are in the trophy will unlock shortly afterwards.

See step 2 in the roadmap for the path I took to get 8 survivors.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/46.jpgParty Time (B)

Get a survivor drunk.

Any survivor that will take objects off you will do and they cannot have full health or they won't accept the drink. Now bring them a beer or other alcohol. Give them 2 bottles of any alcohol by walking up to them a pressing :circle: on the prompt 'Give Item' and they should get drunk and puke on the floor, you can only give a survivor beer if their health isn't full. If it's full just hit them twice. This signifies the survivor is drunk and the trophy will pop shortly afterwards. See the video below:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bUnO9427dQ]Dead Rising 2: Off the Record - Party Time, Trophy/Achievement Guide - YouTube[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/47.jpgPuking Rally (B)

Have a zombie slip in a puddle of vomit.

This doesn't have to be your own puke, it can be a survivors or a psychopaths too. Now all you need to do is get yourself or a survivor drunk or eat spoiled food and puke on the floor. Now lead some zombies towards the puke on the floor and BOOM, zombie slips in the puke and lands on its face. Trophy will pop shortly afterwards.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/48.jpgFrank West: Cross Dresser (B)

Dress up completely in women's clothing.

This is how I got it, In Uranus Zone there's 3 different 'Space Girl' pieces of clothing littered about the place. Once you're wearing the; Space-girl Hair, Space-girl suit and Space-girl boots the trophy will unlock.

Alternatively you can use PowerPyx's method in the video below:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/49.jpgPurewal Memorial Cup (B)

Don't consume any meat, dairy or alcohol until the military arrives.

Missable!

WARNING!: if somebody joins you while you're trying to get this trophy and they eat or drink one food you cannot have then the trophy might not unlock. To be safe go for this trophy on singleplayer only. See Alpha Vs Omega for save boosting tips.

I highly recommend doing this on your second playthrough, your character will be too weak on your first playthrough and you'll need all the food you can get. Now for all of those that don't know what this means:

- Dairy: This is anything that has high milk content, such as coffee creamer, milk (duh) and ice cream. You can eat cake and stuff as it's not dairy. Just because milk is an ingredient doesn't mean that it's dairy.

- Alcohol: Anything that has alcohol on it, you all know what that is. E.g. Beer, vodka, whiskey and cocktails. Its safe to drink mixed drinks such as quickstep and repulse though.

- Meat: Obvious option is obvious, don't eat anything that may even be considered to have meat in it such as a pizza or pie. Some examples of meat, steak and BBQ Ribs. Some people thought fish/sushi/lobster wasn't meat.. but it is, what else is it? Snacks aren't meat so you can eat them.

This is all I ate until the military arrived:

  • Orange Juice
  • Snack
  • Lots of different fruit
  • Fries
  • Onion Rings

Trophy will pop after the military arriving cutscene.

You can give survivors beer and stuff and the trophy will still unlock. Also a good place in the game to get good food that doesn't effect this trophy is the 'Chris's fine foods' shop on the 2nd floor of the palisades mall. In here are an infinite supply of; Orange Juice, melons etc. So stock up on food here.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/50.jpgTiger Tamer (B)

Have Snowflake attack and damage a psychopath.

Missable!

At anytime during Case 1 you can go to the Yucatan Casino to encounter Ted & Snowflake. For the purposes for the guide go to yucatan casino straight away after the first case 'find zombrex'. Ted isn't the one you need to worry about as he doesn't deal much damage to you. What you need to do is kill Ted first. Then you have two options:

1. Kill Ted first then tame snowflake using steaks (only steaks work, found in the food court kitchens). Drop them on the floor and lead Snowflake into the steaks.

2. Kill Ted first then leave Yucatan Casino and don't enter it again until you've finished all of case 1 and are waiting to start case 2. If you return to Yucatan during this time a cutscene will appear and show snowflake becoming friendly. You now have her as a companion.

Here's the annoying thing, snowflake will not wait outside the safehouse so whenever you enter the safehouse Snowflake will too. I advise going for the motorcycle pyschopath as his side case will be active at this time (Don't kill him beforehand). It may take a while for Snowflake to damage the motorcycle riding guy but she will eventually. Trophy will pop soon after Snowflake damages any psychopath.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/995/51.jpgAlpha Vs. Omega (G)

Have Denyce attack and damage Sgt Boykin.

Missable!

The most annoying trophy in the game. You can't return to the safe-house at all with survivors until the military arrive. If you need to return to the safe-house for a main case then have Denyce and other companions wait (Hold :l2: then press :triangle: to tell them where to go) not near the entrance to the safe-house or they will enter with you. Only enter if it says 'Denyce is too far away'.

The most annoying thing about this trophy is you have to keep Denyce with you from case 1-1 to case 7-2 which is ridiculous. But when I did it, it really wasn't as bad as I thought. Here's some tips and things to watch out for!

Helicopter Boss Fight Occurs At Case 6-1!! READ ON FOR MORE INFO!

  • The Helicopter Boss Fight - You cannot have any companions with you upon starting this case file. You need to leave Denyce and other survivors in the toilets or something. If you bring any survivors to the helicopter boss fight they will be automatically transferred to the safe house after!

  • Leaving Denyce and others - You will have to leave them in the toilets in the Royal Flush Plaza and the head to the Fortune City Hotel to start the Helicopter boss fight. The problem with this is once you're in a different part of the map to your survivors their health slowly deteriorates! So you have to complete the helicopter fight as quick as you can. I advise you to make some quick step drinks so you can run from Royal flush Plaza, down the outside part of the map and into the hotel. Once fighting the heli throw military crates at it to take a lot of health off and also activate the winch the heli is tied to as soon as you can. Once that's done you'll be transported back to the safe house. Leave the safe-house and the survivors health will stop deteriorating as you'll be back in the Royal Flush area. Give Denyce some food and then continue up until case 7-2 when you fight Sgt Boykin.

  • Leadership Magazine: Get this from Mags Rags on the top floor of palisades mall, this will increase Denyces and all other companions speed, health and overall performance.

  • Guns - Give Denyce a gun, it will never run out of ammo if she or any other companion is holding it. Take advantage of this and arm her with either an Assault Rifle, LMG, Merchant Assault rifle or Shotgun.

  • Her Health - Keep it full at all times

  • Saving your game - Save a lot of times in case you muck up and Denyce somehow dies.

  • The best weapon to equip - At some point later in the game you'll get a side case called 'WWJWD'. The pyschopath has a gun called a six shooter which is amazing. Equip it to Denyce and there's not much that can kill her.

  • Pyschopaths - Keep Denyce away from them, they deal a lot of health off survivors

The Trophy will pop as soon as she hurts the Sgt. Finally it's over!

Note: If you have a good friend or you're a good friend you can do this to get the trophy. Have one player go for this trophy in singleplayer, once that player reaches the case 7-1 then have them make a save. That's the A vs O save, you can invite somebody on that save now and go to the Sgt boss together. As soon as Denyce hits the Sgt then you and the other player will get the trophy even though only one of you has done all the work. This can also be done for many other trophies too if you save at the right time. It saves time for people.

Harry... you are on fire mate.... guides popping up everywhere! Great stuff

Two hints and things that helped with my playthrough.

Making a separate / new save when the sinpers pop up - for use later when you need to kill 5 psycopaths in co-op. Its very handy rather than playing through so much co-op

For Alpha / Omega i eventually equipped Denyce with the 6 shooter from the WWJJD (or whatever it is psycho) she totally owns with this gun.... one shot zombie kills, and even took out most of Sgt Boykin's health.... a good option to make her more effective. I just hid her in a maintainence room while taking on the psycho for the gun.

Haha, thanks. Ive got 7 trophy guides on the go :p

I completely forgot about the snipers! Ill add that in.

Ill also add about the Six Shooter, but WWJWD doesnt appear till about case 5, but ill add it anyway :)

I went to that gun shop in palisades mall and gave all my survivors a shotgun as that seems to really help.

What you mean like make a save with Denyce with you just before the sgt guy, then invite somebody into the game so 2 people can get it?

Im confused with what you mean, i understand the survivor one.. but not the other trophies ypur saying

Bingo... but right before the military arrival event, to be more precise; because, if the host met the requirement for Purewal, then the invitee would receive it (if not already earned) along with AvO during the session.

I personally earned Purewal legit, so I can't confirm using another person's save will in fact work, but I've seen a couple players offering it over at GameFAQs and Trueachievements. But the method for AvO is 100%.

Nice Guide, I'm suprised that there isn't more people here, guess people don't want to play this game that much. Read the whole guide and it has almost no speelling errors. The only one that striked me was beneath Pretigious PP, in the NOTE sentence. You have spelled won't twice in a row but like I said very minor.:whistle::whistle:;)

I've been using this guide and it's wonderful and very helpful. So thanks for that. Unfortunately not a great deal of people seem to care about this game, so I doubt this will help very many...

I believe the guide is incorrect in stating that you cannot return survivors to the safe house while going for Alpha vs. Omega. I just got the Cramped Quaters trophy and returned all of the survivors except Denyce. It's really easy. Just tell them all to wait in the maintenance room, and then stand in front of Denyce inside the maintenance room to block her path to the door. Send the rest of the survivors into the hallway, then close the door on Denyce. She will be stuck in there and you can return any survivors you may have to the safe house.

Of course, I don't have Alpha vs. Omega yet, so I can't confirm 100% that this won't glitch the trophy somehow, but it certainly doesn't seem like there shouldn't be any problem.

I tried doing it before, but it gets annoying as she sometimes gets passed you or she manages to walk through the closed door.

But there isn't really any gain in returning survivors anyway. Throughout my AVO playthrough I always had 6 - 8 people with me and they provided good distraction to zombies.
