Version 1.01 patch live in U.S.

basically the patch doesnt do anything. Other than resetting your trophy progress, and greying out ALL online games, I don't see any benefit.

 

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse than Sniper Ghost Warrior.....here comes Dead Island.

 

Oh and could someone explain me how and when this game saves? I did like 2 sidequests, quit the game, continued 2 hours later only to see that these 2 quests reappeared in the list?

So far my only glitches have been beneficial to me.. I think.

 

Only played the game as Sam, but for the completel Act 1 with all 4 characters, Sams stats got tossed on purna. So when i beat act 1 in NG+ with Sam, she unlocked in the 4.

 

Was lucky I read the threads before hooking my ps3 to my net, Too far to lose it all, once I hit 50, and get the last location.. WHERE EVER IT IS. Then I can worry about the final few left to get.

 

And as far as I have heard " The biohazard logo in the top right is a good indicator of the game saving, not the "Game saved" on the bottom, but don't quote me.. That might not be true.

Is there any word of a patch to counter act the loss of data with this patch? Or is it gonna be like Dead Nation and the developers fall off the face of the planet for 6 months? Im playing co op with a friend online and I dont want to install the patch and lose everything. Also has anyone tried loading up a PS+ cloud save?

 

If you dont download the patch you and your friend wont be able to play together.

Hate this game

 

I know that. That applies anytime you don't download a patch for a game. This is my hypothesis to fix the problem possibly.

 

The way I think it should be done is to.....

1 make sure your save file was saved to the cloud

2 delete your save file off your system

3 install the patch

4 exit to xmb and re install your cloud save

5 load it up and see if that works around the loss of progress.

 

The idea behind my theory is that the patch wont effect the cloud save you upload after downloading the patch. Like I said this is just a THEORY. If i wasnt so far in I would try it, but I dont want to lose my trophy progress since I am so far in.

 

SO hopefully someone who wont mind the loss of data tries this method or something similar soon. IF THAT SOMEONE IS READING NOW PLEASE POST YOUR FINDINGS!!! I also encourage that people come up with other theories in hopes of finding a way around this developer mistake.

 

Isn't the cloud 24hrs tho? :|

The way the cloud save feature works and also how game DATA is saved I suspect that even if you do try this and it DOESNT work, you should technically be able to delete the patch, re install the game save from the Cloud. Technically..... TECHNICALLY you should still be able to be where you were before even trying this.... However I am to afraid to try this myself. Maybe if you have 2 systems you can bring the save over to another system that way you are basically guaranteed a save file with your up to and try this method on your less played on system. This will take awhile to try out but if it works it would better than starting from scratch like I said.

 

Besides locations trophy and item collection trophy all other progress is is really easy to get back. Which these are not to hard to get either because they count across all characters which you have to at least complete chapter 1 on all characters.

 

The only way I would not download the patch is if is all I need is the collections trophies.

 

So I am still not understand the complaints

So from what everyone is saying...the patch that was recently uploaded does absolutely nothing...thats just great...Im too far into the game to start over...

 

If it did absolutely nothing Sony would have never approved it. They are pretty strict when it comes to testing.

Fixed saving player re-spawn position when playing in co-op mode.

Fixed occasional inability to complete sidequests in Laboratory.

Improved enemy awareness (zombies).

Fixed occasional bug with NPC’s hands bend (IK)

Fixed spawning enemies in some quests after joining co-op game.

Fixed showing locations on invisible NPCs.

Fixed potential path blocker when quest “Knockin’ on heaven’s door” was completed before talking to Dominik during the “On the air” quest.

Fixed displaying gather rings near some doors.

Fixed enemy reaction to fire.

Fixed enemies’ health and stamina bars in co-op.

Fixed filtering of games in lobby.

Volume of pickup’s engine has been increased.

Fixed a number of issues causing game instability.

Fixed the switching of maps upon player death.

Fixed enemies unable to reach the player on some arenas.

Thrown items cannot be picked up by co-op players for five minutes.

Items from freshly opened containers cannot be picked up by other players for five seconds to prevent theft.

Fixed animation glitch when trading with team members.

More than one player can use a ladder at the same time.

Fixed stomping execution animation when target’s attacked by a second player.

Fixed the infinite respawning of shooting enemies.

Focus on items in shops not changing after selling or buying.

More HP for NPCs in escort missions.

Butcher enemies won’t spawn at all during escort missions.

Fixed tracking after loading checkpoint.

Increased minimum vertical distance to count a waypoint as passed for NPCs.
