Darkstalkers Resurrection is a 2D fighting game and a compilation release featuring Night Warriors (an upgraded version of the first Darkstalker game) and Darstalkers 3, known in Japan as Vampire Hunter and Vampire Savior respectively.

Here is a small recap for the controls regarding both versions of the game for the PSN (default - though you can remap the buttons to your own liking).

Arcade stick default controls

The Trophy Road Map walkthrough is actually quite short, and can be completed in whatever order you wish.

Trophy wise, the game offers the usual easy trophies as seen in most fighting games, including completing arcade, saving replays, completing a tutorial and 1 trophy online requesting 10 wins online (easy one too since the wins don't need to be consecutive).

The only difficulty in this game will come from the challenge trophies, requesting you to complete all the challenges for each character (some of them are really hard to complete) and is the only reason why this game has such a high difficulty rating.

Arcade Mode:

3 Trophies can be earned here:

  • (B) Vampire Savior
  • (B) Vampire Hunter
  • (S) Godlike

You will earn these trophies by finishing both arcade modes (without losing a round if going for the Godlike trophy). You can switch between both game arcade versions by pressing :select:. The fastest way to earn all 3 trophies is by changing the game settings and select Victor for both games. Please refer to the Godlike Trophy in the Trophy guide below.

Tutorial and Challenges

  • (B) First One's Free

This Tutorial trophy can be completed in the single player mode of the Darkstalker 3 game mode.

You are only required to complete 1 lesson from whatever character you chose.

  • (B) First Son of Uros
  • (B) House of Felicity
  • (B) It's ALIVE!
  • (B) Aensland of Makai
  • (B) Lord of Castle Zeltzereich
  • (B) Master of Jiang-Shi
  • (B) Loyalty of the Kreutz
  • (B) Hannya Demands a Sacrifice
  • (B) The Chosen King
  • (B) The God of Metal
  • (B) In Search of Bananas
  • (B) Dhylec's Bane
  • (B) Ruler of the Phobos
  • (B) We are Many

The Challenge trophies can be completed in the single player mode of the Night Warriors game version. This is, without doubt, the place you will spent the most time. Each trophy 'only' requires you to do all 5 challenges for each character, but while 5 challenges do not seem like much, some of them are fairly hard to complete for some characters. Please refer to the Trophy Guide below for each characters challenges.

Online mode

  • (B) You Are All Free Now

This is earned in the 'ranked match' multiplayer mode portion from either game modes.

  • (B) Grab a Notepad

The easiest trophy of them all, just save 10 replays in the online mode (multiplayer) to get this trophy.

Finish Arcade Mode in Night Warriors and Darkstalkers 3 without losing

The Trophy requires you to finish both Darkstalkers games without losing a single round. Difficulty is NOT affected by this trophy, therefore it is advised to change the game options to the following for a fast walkthrough:

  • Difficulty: 1 star
  • Dammage: Max stars
  • Time: 1 star
  • Rounds: 1

If you want to pace up this trophy a bit more and make your life easier, you might want to pick up 'Victor' and spam his Thunder Fierce from a far and safe distance and keep the CPU 'cornered', as shown in the video below for both game arcade modes. Victor's Thunder Fierce punch (keep :r1: slightly pressed) has the particularity of generating electricity and extinguishing projectiles if timed properly.

Please note that the 2 player method trick (pressing the second controller once your health is depleted) won't work!

Win 10 Ranked Matches.

This is earned in the 'ranked match' multiplayer mode portion from either game mode. Due to Capcoms randomising matchmaking for ranked matches, and the lack of matchmaking options, it is almost impossible to boost those ranked wins. If you aren't too good at fighting games, you might want to set the opponents level to match yours in the matchmaking options. Take the character you are most comfortable with and start exploring the online mode for this fighting game (which can be cruel if you are new to it). Luckily, you don't need any consecutive wins for this trophy so keep playing untill you reach your 10 wins and it will pop!

If you still need a boosting partner, then you can use the trophy boosting thread here: LINK

50F.jpg First Son of Uros (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "Eternal Rule".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Anakaris in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
JlpDW1k.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★★

Anakaris is the slowest character from the whole Darkstalkers roster.

The only difficulty in his trials resides in how well you can manage his links (jab to short, or short to short)

You can refer to the following link here for more information about links or p-linking (making linking slightly easier)

Keep in mind while p-linking that the commands are reversed compared to Street Figher 4. In Darkstalkers, the lightest strength button gets priority over the harder ones, compared to SF4 where hard gets priority over low.

If you are unsure about a specific challenge regarding timing, position or anything else, remember you can watch the demo any time, by hitting :start: and choosing 'exit', which will bring you back to the trial menu for the given character.

All challenges below are described with the default buttons, unless specified otherwise, but you can remap some buttons for ease of execution.

Challenge 1: Distance Hitsugi no Mai

Difficulty Rating: ★

Very easy challenge where you will have to do all versions of the Hitsugi no Mai

Hitsugi no Mai light:

  • :square:+:cross:
    ivzjt1G.gif +:square:+:cross:
    LROXuj5.gif +:square:+:cross:

Hitsugi no Mai medium:

  • :triangle:+:circle:
    ivzjt1G.gif +:triangle:+:circle:
    LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:+:circle:

Hitsugi no Mai Hard:

  • :r1:+:r2:
    ivzjt1G.gif +:r1:+:r2:
    LROXuj5.gif +:r1:+:r2:

Challenge 2: Tombstone Dive Combo

Difficulty Rating: ★★★★

Not too hard if you can handle the link in the combo. You can refer to the linking explanation here, or remap the buttons to make the linking and chaining even easier. Using the default controls:

Jump up and do the tombstone dive (Voug4wW.gif +:r2:) while you're about to land. Its important to hit your tombstone dive as deep as possible on Rikuo, since hitting too high will make you miss the combo. Continue with a standing jab (:square:), link (hardest part) with a standing short (:cross:) and finish with the rest of the chain combo, crouching strong (Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:), crouching roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:)

Challenge 3: Short Link

Difficulty Rating: ★★★

Another link combo where you will want to buffer your ES Cobra Blow into the second short. Again you can refer to the linking explanation on top. To make it even easier you can map all 3 punches to :circle:. Start with a standing short(:cross:), link standing short and buff first part of ES Cobra blow (ivzjt1G.gif +:cross: - while keeping ivzjt1G.gif  pressed), ES Cobra blow (LROXuj5.gif +:circle:).

Challenge 4: Dash Short Link

Difficulty Rating: ★★★★

2 links here, which might make this challenge tricky for some. Dashing short (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:cross:), and link standing jab (:square:). Try to hit the standing jab before Victor recovers from the dashing jab. Once you got that part, link standing short (:cross:), and finish the chain combo with a crouching strong (Rj22GZU.gif +:triangle:), crouching roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:)

Challenge 5: Dizzy Combo

Difficulty Rating: ★★★★★

For this trial, you will have to inhale Hsien Ko's hammer specifically (tossed right after her shuriken). Stay midscreen, and once she tosses her shuriken, jump backwards and use the Kotodama Gaeshi (Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:r1:). Once you inhaled the hammer, you are free to continue the combo, since it won't reset the first part.

Close in on Hsien KO and use the Kotodama Geashi (exhale) (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:r1:), and start your combo with standing jab (:square:), link standing short (:cross:). The falling hammer will finish the combo and stun Hsien KO. Repeat this 2 more times successfully to complete this challenge.

Complete the first tier of the award "Sacrificed".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Lord Raptor in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
GuqPzna.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★★

Lord Raptor has one of the best air offenses, and one of the longest reaches (his towards standing fierce covering almost the entire screen!). Be prepared to see him a lot when hitting the online ranked matches.

Luckily, his challenges aren't too hard, since there's no complex linking. If you are unsure about a specific challenge regarding timing, position or anything else, remember you can watch the demo any time by hitting :start: and choosing 'exit', which will bring you back to the trial menu for the given character. All challenges below are described with the default buttons, unless specified otherwise, but you can remap some buttons for ease of execution.

Challenge 1: Far Reach Chain Combo

Difficulty Rating: ★★★

Not too hard if you get used to the linking and chain combos. There's is a difference between chain combos and links, where the first one requests a fast input and the last one a strict timing (you can't just button mash, unless you're being lucky having small frame windows). Refer here for more information about links or p-linking. Keep in mind while p-linking that the commands are reversed compared to Street Fighter 4. In Darkstalkers, the lightest strength button gets priority over the harder ones, compared to SF4 where hard gets priority over low.

Start with a crouching jab (Rj22GZU.gif+:square:), link another crouching jab (Rj22GZU.gif+:square:) and finish the chain combo with a towards standing short (LROXuj5.gif+:cross:),towards standing strong (LROXuj5.gif+:triangle:), towards standing roundhouse (LROXuj5.gif+:r2:).

Challenge 2: Odd Juggles

Difficulty Rating: ★★★★★

The key to this combo is making sure your jumping roundhouse and standing roundhouse (who have the particularity of hitting more then once when close), only hit once, or else the Death Voltage won't connect.

You can remap roundhouse to :cross: and all 3 kicks to :circle: for ease of execution regarding this challenge. Jump up to Anakaris, and try to hit his feet with a jumping roundhouse (3hi5hpf.gif,:cross:), making sure it only hit once. The key is to land early and immediately do the standing roundhouse (hitting once making sure the animation is near to its end), and then link the Death Voltage. Make sure you are really close to Anakaris as well when hitting your standing roundhouse (:cross:), after which you need to be really fast to input the Death Voltage (LROXuj5.gifVoug4wW.gifRj22GZU.gifF42pcGL.gifivzjt1G.gif+:circle:).

To make it easier, you can buffer the first move of the Death Voltage during the standing roundhouse animation and finish the move by sliding/pianoing quickly to :circle:, triggering the Death Voltage.

Challenge 3: Jump in ES

Difficulty Rating: ★★

One of Lord Raptor's easiest challenges. Remap both kicks to :circle: to make it even easier for execution.

Close in on Victor and jump up with a short kick(3hi5hpf.gif,:cross:). Once the jumping short hits, cancel it immediately with an ES Jumping Death Hurricane (Rj22GZU.gifF42pcGL.gifivzjt1G.gif+:circle:)

Challenge 4: Air ES Hurricane Juggle

Difficulty Rating: ★★

Another easy challenge with the right positioning. Again you can remap all 3 kick's to :circle:.

Go completely to the opposite corner of the screen on the right. After that, jump up (3hi5hpf.gif) and make sure you input the ES Jumping Death Hurricane (Rj22GZU.gifF42pcGL.gifivzjt1G.gif+:circle:) at the highest peak of L. Raptor's jump. If done correctly, Lord Raptor will travel over the whole screen and hit the CPU only once, leaving you enough time to follow up with a Death Voltage (LROXuj5.gifVoug4wW.gifRj22GZU.gifF42pcGL.gifivzjt1G.gif+:circle:)

Challenge 5: Skull Sting

Difficulty Rating: ★★★★

A moderate to easy challenge if you can buffer L. Raptor's crouching forward during the Death Voltage input. We will again remap the buttons, this time all 3 kicks to :cross:.

Close in completely on Anakaris in the corner, and jump right up to him (3hi5hpf.gif or t3usGuJ.gif) and input the ES Skull Sting in air (Rj22GZU.gif,3hi5hpf.gif+:cross:). Once you land, finish the combo with a crouching forward (Rj22GZU.gif+:circle:) and cancel that last one with a Death Voltage (LROXuj5.gifVoug4wW.gifRj22GZU.gifF42pcGL.gifivzjt1G.gif+:cross:).

You need to be very fast when cancelling the crouching forward to a Death voltage, so it is advised to buffer the crouching forward into the Death Voltage (LROXuj5.gifVoug4wW.gif(hitting :circle:, initiating the crouching forward)Rj22GZU.gifF42pcGL.gifivzjt1G.gif+:cross: - immediately cancelling the crouching forward into Death Voltage).

A93.jpg It's ALIVE! (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "Full Reanimation".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Victor in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
9QGJDxs.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★

Victor is one of the slower Darkstalkers characters, but he's easy to pick up and start with if you want an easy walk through arcade mode.

This is one of the easier trophy challenges which shouldn't be too hard to acquire. The only difficulty in his trials resides in a few links, which can be bypassed with very fast button inputs.

If you are unsure about a specific challenge regarding timing, position or anything else, remember you can watch the demo any time (by hitting :start: and choosing 'exit', which will bring you back to the trial menu for the given character). All challenges below are described with the default buttons, unless specified otherwise, but you can remap some buttons for ease of execution.

Chapter 1: Punching Out Projectiles

Difficulty rating: ★

Victor medium and hard punches have the particularity of generating electricity (by keeping medium/hard punch/kick slightly pressed) and the ability to annihilate projectiles if timed correctly, and that's what all the challenge is about.

Start this challenge by backtracking to the corner. Backtrack and keep :triangle: OR :r1: OR :circle: briefly pressed the moment the projectile is at mid screen.

Chapter 2: 5 Hit Chain

Difficulty rating: ★★

Darkstalkers's bread and butter chain combo.

Start this challenge with a crouching jab (Rj22GZU.gif +:square:), crouching short (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:), crouching strong (Rj22GZU.gif +:triangle:), crouching forward(Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:), and crouching charged roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:, keeping that last one pressed for the charge ability). Make sure to input the first 4 buttons pretty fast to prevent the medium punch/kick being charged as it might confuse you during your chain combo timing.

Chapter 3: Short Jab Link

Difficulty rating: ★★★

Victor's hardest challenge involving a link.

Start with a crouching short (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:) and link into a standing jab (:square:), after which you can finish with a quick chain combo: crouching short(Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:), crouching forward (Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:), crouching roundhouse(Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:). This challenge is also doable with a very fast button input for the first 3 hits to nail the link correctly, after which you can finish your chain combo.

Chapter 4: Electric Chain

Difficulty rating: ★★★

Another easy challenge where you will have to slightly change the input timing of your chain combo.

Start this chain with crouching short (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:) to a crouched charged strong (keep Rj22GZU.gif +:triangle: briefly pressed, but not too much as you can continue the chain) and finish with a crouched charged roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:, keeping it slightly pressed as well).

Chapter 5: Short Short Knee

Difficulty rating: ★★★

There's 2 ways to complete this challenge:

The first one is to start with a crouching short (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:), link to a second crouching short (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:), and cancel your second short with a Giga Burn (Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:cross:).

The other (more easy way) is to input the 2 shorts as fast as possible, which should have you nail the correct frame link eventually, and finishing your second crouching short to Victor's Giga Burn.

F7A.jpg Dhylec's Baine (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "The Final Catch".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Donovan in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
PlC4lxE.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★★★★★

This could have been a very easy trophy if it wasn't for Donovan's challenge 5. There is a huge difficulty gap betweens Donovan's first 4 challenges and his last one, but with the proper positioning, timing and linking you will be able to master his last trial.

Chapter 1: Command Grab

Difficulty rating: ★

Very easy challenge asking you to execute a simple command grab:

Get close to Felicia and input Donovan's Sword Grapple (LROXuj5.gif Voug4wW.gif Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif + any punch).

Chapter 2: Cancelable Dashing Forward

Difficulty rating: ★★

Another easy challenge involving a cancellable move.

Dash with a forward kick to Morrigan (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:circle:), and cancel Donovan's forward kick immediately the moment it hits with Ifrit Sword (LROXuj5.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif + any punch).

Chapter 3: Short Link

Difficulty rating: ★★

Altough the challenge mentions linking (which requires a strict timing - You can refer to the linking explanation here), this can easily be bypassed by pressing Donovan's short kicks rapidly!

Get close to Bishamon and rapidly input Donovan's short link 3 times (:cross:, :cross::cross:) and cancel into Ifrit Sword (LROXuj5.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif + any punch), the moment the third short kick hits.

Chapter 4: Blizzard Combo

Difficulty rating: ★★

Yet another easy combo if you position yourself correctly.

Space yourself from Demitri, a bit more then half a screen, and input Donovan's ES Blizzard Sword (ivzjt1G.gif F42pcGL.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:l1:) and immediately finish this combo with his (roundhouse) Press of Death (ivzjt1G.gif F42pcGL.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:r2:).

Key is to input the Press of Death right after the Blizzard connects or else the ice will break and the combo will reset.

Chapter 5: Killshread Combo

Difficulty rating: ★★★★★★★★

This is one of the harder challenges in the game and will need proper positioning, timing and linking.

This challenge will test your patience and endurance, but never giving up is the message here.

First, pull out the Killshread plant (:square:+:cross:) close to Sasquatch (but not too close, otherwise the Killshread hit won't connect him a second time when coming back). When you input the Killshread Summon (long version::r1:+:r2:), Sasquatch needs to be just far enough for your standing strong (:triangle:) to connect and have Donovan's sword pop out of the ground and hit him. After the Killshread hit connects the first time, perform the 3 standing Shorts (:cross:,:cross:,:cross:), and link the towards standing roundhouse kick (ivzjt1G.gif +:r2:), making sure you input the short links not too fast (the first Killshread summon hit stuns Sasquatch long enough to delay your short kicks). The key to this combo is to have you input the above combo with the proper timing/linking, for the second Killshread hit to connect after your towards standing roundhouse. Once you got that hardest part (Killshread hit after your towards standing roundhouse), you can finish the combo with 4 standing jabs (:square:, :square::square:, :square:)to standing strong ( :triangle:).

Another easier method mentioned by a few members is to use the fierce version of the Killshread Plant (:r1:+:r2:), and summoning with (:triangle:+:circle:) refraining you from delaying your short kicks, but requesting a very fast input and slightly adapting your position to your Killshread plant. Immediately start your combo once the first Killshread hit connects (:cross:, :cross:, :cross:,ivzjt1G.gif +:r2:),and finish the last part once the Killshread summon hits a second time (:square:,:square:,:square:,:square:,:triangle:)

*Credit to Info and Yojimbo87x for mentioning the strong version of the Killshread summon.

44A.jpg The Chosen King (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "At the Bottom of the Sea".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Rikuo in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
s9yKpRw.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★★★★★★★

Rikuo is without any doubts known to be the character with the hardest challenges in the game. Luckily there are some glitches and buffer tricks to make some challenges slightly easier but it still remains really hard to pull them out. His challenges (mainly 2 and 5) will test your patience, speed and perseverance to its limits. If you are unsure about a specific challenge regarding timing, position or anything else, remember you can watch the demo any time (by hitting :start: and choosing 'exit', which will bring you back to the trial menu for the given character). All challenges below are described with the default buttons, unless specified otherwise but you can remap some buttons for ease of execution.

Chapter 1: Backdash Cancel

Difficulty rating: ★

A very simply challenge, learning you the backdash cancel, and slowly preparing for the harder challenges to come. Start with a standing forward (:circle:) then quickly cancel the move with a backdash (ivzjt1G.gif ,ivzjt1G.gif )

Chapter 2: Frontdash Cancel

Difficulty rating: ★★★★★★★★★

Be prepared to face the second hardest challenge, of all the character challenges included. You will need to be lightning fast in cancelling the normal forward attack into a dashing jab, since the frame window to backdash cancel into a frontdash jab is really really small! Luckily you can buffer the first part of the backdash cancel during the standing forward (ivzjt1G.gif +:circle:). From there, immediately input the dash cancel to dashing jab (ivzjt1G.gif ,LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square:). The game will read the back + standing forward as the first part of the backdash so you 'just' need to input the rest of the combo. Using apostrophes when using the word 'just' above, since finishing the combo is still really hard. The key to this combo is how fast you can input backdash into the dashing jab. Keep practising and it should come out sooner or later with a lot of patience and fast fingers. Rikuo being on the left side: Standing forward (ivzjt1G.gif +:circle:),ivzjt1G.gif ,LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square: (backdash cancel to dashing jab).

Extra note: Using a glitch in the game, you can whiff(miss) the Standing Forward, then input Sonic Wave and it will still count as part of the trial (registering the standing forward). During the 2 seconds stun from your Sonic Wave, quickly whiff(miss) another Standing Forward and back dash cancel, dash jab during it. It's a lot more to build up, but it increases the frame window slightly for you to input the back dash cancel to dashing jab.

*Alternative method, with credits to Illdie for posting this method and video:

Chapter 3: Jab Forward Link

Difficulty rating: ★★★

The only difficulty in this challenge resides in how well you can manage link combos (in this case dashing jab to standing forward). You can refer to the following link here for more information about links or p-linking (making linking slightly easier). Keep in mind while p-linking that the commands are reversed compared to Street Figher 4. In Darkstalkers, the lightest strength button gets priority over the harder ones, compared to SF4 where hard gets priority over low.

Rikuo being on the left side: Dashing jab (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square:), link to standing forward (:circle:).

Chapter 4: Screw Shot Combo

Difficulty rating: ★★★

Another easy challenge since the first part of the Screw Shot combo (ivzjt1G.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +any punch) can be buffered during Rikuo's standing forward (:circle:).

Rikuo being on the left side: Standing forward (ivzjt1G.gif +:circle: - while keeping ivzjt1G.gif  pressed), then quickly input the Screw Shot (LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:). The key is in buffering the Screw shot since it has to come out really fast after Rikuo's standing forward.

Chapter 5: Dash Cancel Loop

Difficulty rating: ★★★★★★★★★★

Without doubt the hardest challenge in the game! Basically you will revisit challenges 1 to 3, all into one challenge, adding a linked standing forward at the end. This trial will test your patience, speed and perseverance for sure. Start the combo with a dashing jab (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square:), link to standing forward (ivzjt1G.gif +:circle: - buffering the first part of the back dash cancel). From there, immediately input the dash cancel to dashing jab (ivzjt1G.gif ,LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square:) and finish with a linked standing forward (:circle:).

Luckily there is a small glitch to make this challenge 'slightly' easier.

*Credit for finding this glitch goes to xXNinjAOfFAtEXx*

The trick is to miss/whiff the first air dash jab and immediately inputting a ES Sonic Wave which will be registered as a dashing jab! This will leave Anakaris disabled for around 2 seconds allowing you to finish the rest of the combo! That way you don't need to worry about the first link of the combo and it's basically challenge 2 revisited (with a linked standing forward at the end). You can remap the 3 punches to :triangle: for the ES Sonic wave, although I can confirm, after some testing, that a normal Sonic wave will work too!

Rikuo being on the left side: Space yourself from Anakaris and do a dashing jab (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square:), making sure it misses, then quickly input ES Sonic Wave (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:). After the stun, immediately input standing forward (ivzjt1G.gif +:circle: - buffering the first part of the backdash), followed by a lightning fast backdash cancel to dashing jab (ivzjt1G.gif ,LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square:), and finish with a linked standing forward (:circle:).

Complete the first tier of the award "Drained Every Drop".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Demitri in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
Q8K2Lky.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★

Demitri, alongside Morrigan, is the main protagonist of the game, which most Ryu/Ken players will feel the most comfortable with. Demitri's challenges have a moderate difficulty but aren't too hard with the proper timing.

Challenge 1: Dash Cancel

Difficulty rating: ★★

An easy challenge to start Demitri's challenges, requesting a dash cancel into an EX Move. If using a joypad you can remap 3 punches to :triangle:. Challenge with remapping: Cancel dash (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif ) to Midnight Pleasure (Rj22GZU.gif LROXuj5.gif Voug4wW.gif +:triangle:).

Challenge 2: Air ES Chaos Flare Juggle

Difficulty rating: ★★

A very damaging combo, but rather easy to pull out. Jump to Lord Raptor when he is jumping up in the corner and juggle him 3 times with a ES Jumping Chaos Flare. The timing isn't too strict, since the ES Chaos Flare will 'stun-burn' Lord Raptor long enough to have you jump 2 more times and repeat the ES Chaos Flare. Again you can remap 3 punches to :triangle: for easier access and easily complete this challenge: ES Jumping Chaos Flare (t3usGuJ.gif ,Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:),immediately jumping again with an ES Jumping Chaos Flare (t3usGuJ.gif ,Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:), and a last jump with ES jumping Chaos Flare (t3usGuJ.gif ,Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:).

Challenge 3: Instant overhead combo

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

Slightly tricky combo, since your jumping fierce needs to hit 'deep',right before touching the ground for the rest of the chain combo to connect. The key is to start the combo at the highest peak of your jump, not on the way up since Anakaris is such a tall character. You can rewatch the demo if unsure about the angled jump and timing. Start by separately building up your combo and try to connect the first jumping short to jumping jab (hitting jab twice increases the chance to hit the correct link frame). Once you got that, you can input the jumping fierce, making sure it hits right before touching the ground. After that, immediately connect with a standing jab (second hardest part), and finish the rest of the chain combo. Jump up (http://i.imgur.com/t3usGuJ.gif) and hit short immediately on your way down (:cross:), link to jab (:square:), link fierce (:r1:) and finish the combo by immediately inputting the standing jab (:square:) when grounded, finishing the chain combo with a standing strong (:triangle:) to standing fierce (:r1:).

Challenge 4: ES Bat Spin Cross Up

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

Not as easy as it looks, as you need to be really fast on the standing jabs to pull 3 out of it after connecting the ES Bat Spin. The ES Bat Spin can't be done in the corner if you want Demitri to cross up, so stay mid screen for this combo. Start by closing in completely on Hsien Ko and input the ES Bat Spin (Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:l2:), and immediately hit standing jab 3 times once landed (:square:, :square:, :square: - fastest input) and finish with a crouching jab (Rj22GZU.gif +:square:) and crouching roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:). If you have troubles connecting the 3 standing jabs, you can try button mashing (due to the small link frame) after the ES Bat Spin, although it might make it harder to prepare yourself for the last part of the combo (crouching jab to crouching roundhouse).

Challenge 5: Demon Blast Juggle

Difficulty rating: ★★★

A very flashy combo and not too hard if you got the timing right. Key to this challenge is hitting Lord Raptor with your ES jumping Chaos Flare as high as possible, or else your Demon Blast will come out too late to juggle him. It is possible to extend your jumping ES Chaos Flare with another one to make Lord Raptor 'bounce' even higher into the air (or yet 2 or 3 more if you want him to get as high as possible), as to give you more time to pull out the Demon Blast when landing. The Demon Blast needs to come out the moment you land, so make sure to buffer the first inputs so you only need to push 1 button once you land and finish up with an ES Pursuit Attack. When using a joypad its advisable to remap the 3 punches to :triangle: and the 3 kicks to :circle: (or any other button combination that fits you best). Start your combo by timing your jump with Lord raptor and pull out an ES Jumping Chaos Flare (t3usGuJ.gif ,Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:), making sure Lord Raptor is almost completely out of your screen above, then the first part of the Demon Blast on your way down (Rj22GZU.gif LROXuj5.gif Voug4wW.gif  and push :circle: the moment you land to pull out the Demon Blast. Once it connected, wait a tiny moment for your opponent to touch the ground before inputting the ES Pursuit Attack (3hi5hpf.gif +:circle:).

1F0.jpg Master of Jiang-Shi (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "Laid to Rest".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Hsien-Ko in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
vogA2z4.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★★★★★

Hsien KO, also known as Lei Lei in Japan, is a very interesting character if you can master her. She has some pretty confusing abilities (dashing disappearance and cancellable Senpuu Bu) ,and stun projectiles, making her a force to reckon with.

Her challenges are fairly easy, excluding number 4 which is known to be one of the harder challenges in the game. Luckily, there is the stun glitch to make this one slightly easier, as explained in challenge 4 below. If you are unsure about a specific challenge regarding timing, position or anything else, remember you can watch the demo any time (by hitting :start: and choosing 'exit', which will bring you back to the trial menu for the given character). All challenges below are described with the default buttons, unless specified otherwise, but you can remap some buttons to your own linking for ease of execution.

Chapter 1: 10 hit Pendulum

Difficulty rating: ★★

Really easy with the right positioning. Watch the demo again if you still have doubts about the positioning. You need to be really close to Hsien Ko, while not sticking to her completely for the Senpuu Bu to hit more then 10 times. If you want the exact position, just stick to the CPU completely, then make a dash and you should be in the back with the right positioning (right side of the screen) and input the weak version of her Senpuu Bu (ivzjt1G.gif Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif +:square:).

Chapter 2: Lots of jabs

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

A challenge requiring some quick linking or a very fast input of Hsien Ko's Jabs. It's advised to remap fierce to :triangle:, so you can piano/slide rapidly and easily to (:triangle:) once the sixth jab (:square:) connects. While its doable mid-screen, its advised to corner Sasquatch to keep the hits backing him away to a minimum. Corner Sasquatch, and input her standing jab 6 times and finish with a standing fierce (:square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :square:, :triangle:).

Another easier method, still with the mapped buttons:

Just throw a (stunning - either boulder or hammer) fierce Anki Hou (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:) and connect 3 standing jabs (:square:, :square:, :square:) before the projectile hits/stuns Sasquatch. The combo won't reset due to the stun (the game will register your first 3 jabs) and you can easily finish the challenge with the remaining 3 standing jabs (:square:, :square:, :square:) to standing fierce (:triangle:).

Chapter 3: Tenrai Ha Combo

Difficulty rating: ★★★

A flashy combo looking difficult when checking the command input but its actually really easy thanks to the buffer part. Let's remap roundhouse to :circle: to make it even easier. Your combo needs to start with crouching short (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:) followed by a crouching roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:). This is actually the first part of Hsien Ko's Tenrai Ha (one of the only EX moves able to cancel any move or chains into it - Morrigan's DI being the other exception). So, once you start the chain combo with a crouching short (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:) to crouching roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:), immediately input :triangle:, :triangle:, 3hi5hpf.gif , which should cancel your crouching roundhouse into EX Tenrai Ha. Afterwards you can finish the combo with an easy ES Pursuit attack (3hi5hpf.gif +:l2:).

Chapter 4: Item Toss Rejump

Difficulty rating: ★★★★★★★★

As already said, this is Hsien Ko's hardest challenge by far. There are 2 hard parts in this challenge:

- The first one connecting the fierce air dash after a fierce Anki Hou Throw (making sure the projectile hits AFTER the fierce air dash).

- The second hardest part is immediately jumping up again after her Anki Hou projectile connects and finish the combo with 3 linked jump attacks and ending it with a 4-5 hit chain combo.

Start by building up your combo slowly; throw out a fierce Anki Hou projectile (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:r1:), making sure you are able to pull out her air dash fierce immediately after it (t3usGuJ.gif ,LROXuj5.gif + :r1: - needs to hit Anakaris as low as possible), and hit Anakaris before her Anki Hou projectile hits.

One you got that part, try to work on her second part of the combo, and practice her jumping short to linked jab (t3usGuJ.gif ,:cross:,:square: - needs to connect right on her way down - the frame link is really small between the short and jab so you can double tap the :square: right after :cross: to nail the correct link) to a linked jumping fierce (:r1:) and make sure that last one hits deep, right before she touches the ground. If you can connect her standing jab (:square:) into a combo after the jumping fierce, you got the hardest part done and can finish it with the rest of the chain combo: standing strong (:triangle:) to crouching forward (Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:) to standing fierce (:r1:).

The hardest part in this challenge is connecting your jump after the Anki Hou projectile hits, but luckily there is a small trick to make this challenge slightly easier. Hsien Ko has some stun projectiles (the boulder (coming right after her sword toss), or the hammer (coming right after her shuriken toss), and that's the one we will want to use for the first part of the combo!

Start an Anki Hou with a boulder or hammer toss and immediately input her air dash fierce, as explained above, making sure the hammer or boulder stuns Anakaris after the air dash fierce connects. This will leave Anakaris stunned for 2 seconds (and the challenge not reset yet), leaving you a small time frame to input the second hardest part of the combo and input her jumping short-jab-fierce as described earlier and finish with her long chain combo.

Chapter 5: Two Projectiles, One Gong

Difficulty rating: ★★★

This challenge is a walk in the park compared to the previous one. Remap all 3 punches to :triangle: and get ready to finish this easy challenge.

Start the combo rather close with a Fierce Anki Hou (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:r1:), and immediately input her ES Henkyou Ki (Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:triangle:) followed by a jab Anki Hou (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:square:).

965.jpg Hannya Demands a Sacrifice (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "Lifting the Curse".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Bishamon in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
lJGgAaO.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★

While not the fastest character, Bishamon has a very long reach and has nice chip damage moves keeping him at a safe distance for retaliation (Laigiri move).

His challenges can be moderately hard or easy, depending on your skill for link inputs, since the only difficulty in Bishamon's challenges is mastering his links (you can't button mash your way out of these challenges due to the frame link window). You can refer to the following link here for more information about links or p-linking (making linking slightly easier). Keep in mind while p-linking that the commands are reversed compared to Street Fighter 4. In Darkstalkers, the lightest strength button gets priority over the harder ones, compared to SF4 where hard gets priority over low. If you are unsure about a specific challenge regarding timing, position or anything else, remember you can watch the demo any time (by hitting :start: and choosing 'exit', which will bring you back to the trial menu for the given character). All challenges below are described with the default buttons, unless specified otherwise but you can remap some buttons to your own linking for ease of execution.

Chapter 1: ES Laigiri Damage

Difficulty rating: ★★

A very easy combo if you use the buffer trick. Remap all 3 punches to :square: for ease of execution. Crouching next to Bishamon, making sure you keep (F42pcGL.gif) pressed for a second or 2, then input (:triangle:) to an ES Laigiri (LROXuj5.gif +:cross: - the first input for the ES Laigiri being buffered during your crouching forward).

Chapter 2: Dash Forward Link Combo 1

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

The difficulty in this trial is in the first part, linking your dashing forward to a standing jab. You can refer to the following link here for more information about links or p-linking (making linking slightly easier).

Start the combo with a dashing forward (LROXuj5.gif , LROXuj5.gif +:circle:) and link (hardest part) to a standing jab (:square:). Once you got the hardest part, immediately finish the combo with a chain to towards fierce (LROXuj5.gif +:r1:), towards roundhouse (LROXuj5.gif +:r2:).

Chapter 3: Fun With Forward

Difficulty rating: ★★★

The difficulty for this combo will all depend how easy/fast you can link Bishamon's forwards (3 times) to a towards roundhouse. The frame link window is really small so it can be bypassed by inputting the standing forwards at a very high speed (:square:, :square:, :square: - I hate to use the word 'button mashing', but it works here), hitting the correct link frames each time. Once you got the third standing forward connected, finish it immediately with a towards standing roundhouse (LROXuj5.gif + :r2:).

Chapter 4: Dash Forward Link Combo 2

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

Again, the difficulty for this combo resides in linking the dashing forward to a standing jab (refer to Bishamon chapter 2). It is advised to map the all punches to :triangle: for ease of execution. Once you got the hardest part done (linking standing jab after a dashing forward: LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:circle:, link :square:), immediately cancel the standing jab to a Hana Ha (ivzjt1G.gif F42pcGL.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:square:), and finish the combo with a Keashi Ha (ivzjt1G.gif +:square:) to ES Kien San (LROXuj5.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif +:triangle:).

Chapter 5: Robot Slaughter

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

A 100% damage combo if done on Huitzil in the corner! The combo isn't too hard to pull out with a good timing regarding the linking.

Some button remapping might be useful for ease of execution: map all 3 punches to :square: and fierce to :triangle:. Start with an Oni Kubi Hineri (LROXuj5.gif Voug4wW.gif Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:square:) with Huitzil being in the corner. While doing so, start pushing forward (LROXuj5.gif ) and immediately input fierce (:triangle:) once the Oni Kubi Hineri ends, making you juggle Huitzil with your towards Fierce. The key for this combo is to link the next Oni Kubi Hineri (LROXuj5.gif Voug4wW.gif Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:square:) after your towards fierce connects. Inputting the Oni Kubi Hineru too fast will make you miss the combo so be patient and wait a bit before inputting it again. Once you got that timing, repeat it once more and this challenge should be yours!

B18.jpg Ruler of the Phobos (B)

Complete the first tier of this award "Enveloping the Cosmos".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Pyron in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
7QpuHq5.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★

Pyron is the final boss of Night Warriors and is a force to reckon with. Though his challenges are rather damaging, the execution for them aren't too hard (without any tricky linkings), and thus making Pyron's challenges among the easiest in the game (along with Huitzil and Victor).

Chapter 1: Chain combo

Difficulty rating: ★★

One of Pyron's more damaging chain combo's, involving 2 hard attacks. Start to with a standing jab (:square:), and chain into standing short (:cross:), towards strong (LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:), towards fierce (LROXuj5.gif +:r1:) and immediately cancel this chain (making sure it only hits once instead of 3 times) with a crouching roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:). This is a basic chain combo, comparable to Street Fighter's target combos, where the key is a fast clean input.

Chapter 2: Combo into Zodiac

Difficulty rating: ★★

An easy challenge involving a cancel. For ease of execution you might want to remap the 3 punches to :triangle: and all 3 kicks to :cross:. Begin your combo with a crouching forward (Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:) and cancel it immediately into an ES Zodiax Fire (LROXuj5.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif +:triangle:), and finish with a ES Pursuit attack (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:) once Anakaris is grounded.

Chapter 3: Repeating jabs

Difficulty rating: ★★

Pyron's trickiest combo, though rather easy with proper timing. The key for this combo is to make sure your jumping Fierce hits as a cross up attack (where you land into Hsien Ko's back, and thus making her close in on you even more due to the hit) and make sure it hits deep (inputting it right before touching the ground). You can watch the demo again and try to hit Hsien Ko's hitbox as shown. Once you connected the jumping fierce (t3usGuJ.gif ,:r1:) to a standing jab (:square: - and now being in Hsien Ko's back, right side of the screen), you got the hardest part done and can finish the chain combo with another standing jab, standing jab, towards jab, towards strong and towards fierce (:square:, :square:, ivzjt1G.gif +:square:, ivzjt1G.gif +:triangle:, ivzjt1G.gif +:r1:).

Chapter 4: Sol Smasher Juggle

Difficulty rating: ★★

Very similar to Demitri's challenge 2, requesting you to input an jumping ES Air Sol Smasher 3 times in a row. It's even possible to increase the Sol Smashers to much more then 3 if you are having fun with it, tough its not requested for this trial. Its easiest done by corenering L. Raptor and do a jumping ES Air Sol Smasher properly timed with L.Raptor's jump (t3usGuJ.gif ,3hi5hpf.gif t3usGuJ.gif LROXuj5.gif +:l1:). The timing isn't too strict, since L. Raptor will stay air stunned for a small time, making it rather easy to input the jumping ES Sol Smasher 2 more times.

Chapter 5: Cosmo Disruption

Difficulty rating: ★★

A very flashy combo, though, if timed correctly, rather easy to pull out due to the Cosmo Disruption hitting and give you plenty of time to air combo. For ease of execution, lets remap the buttons again with all 3 punches to :cross: and all 3 kicks to :circle:. Start with a Cosmo Disruption (ivzjt1G.gif F42pcGL.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif + :cross:) and immediately jump to Victor with a jumping dash (t3usGuJ.gif ,:square:) and link to jumping strong (:triangle: - tapping it twice will increase the chance to nail the correct link frame). Once you touch the ground, immediately input the ES Zodiac Fire (LROXuj5.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif + :cross:) and finish with an ES Pursuit Attack (3hi5hpf.gif +:circle:).

205.jpg House of Felicity (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "The Last Dance".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Felicia in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
ayPUL1O.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★★★

Felicia is one of the faster characters in the game and the difficulty in her trials will be in mastering her links and angled jump. All challenges below are described with the default buttons but you can remap some buttons for easier access to specific buttons or pull out some ES/EX moves. Remember, you can rewatch the challenge demo any time (by hitting :start: and choosing 'exit', which will bring you back to the trial menu for the given character) if you are unsure about a specific challenge or check where to land your move on the CPU hit box.

Chapter 1: Chain Combo

Difficuly rating: ★★

Easy combo resuming the basics of Darkstalkers chain combo system. There is no strict timing for chain combo's, you can input them fast and easily one after another. Start with a standing jab (:square:),standing short (:cross:), standing strong (:triangle:), standing fierce (:r1:), standing roundhouse (:r2:).

Chapter 2: Dashing Strong

Difficulty rating: ★

The easiest challenge of them all, out of all character challenges included; just dash towards the CPU with a strong attack (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:) and you will have completed this trial before you know it.

Chapter 3: ES Rolling Buckler

Difficulty rating: ★★★★★

The difficulty for this trial resides in linking the standing jab into Felicia's crouching forward. There is a difference between chaining (where you can easily tap buttons one after another to complete your combo), and linking, where the timing needs to be strict. Refer here for more information about links. Standing jab to crouching forward is very easy when you chain combo them, but when doing so it will make cancelling her crouching forward to ES buckler really hard. This is because of the game mechanics, as explained in the introduction, which makes cancelling chains into ES/EX moves almost impossible (exception being Morrigan and Hsien KO's EX). The key for this combo is to break the chain by linking her standing jab to crouching forward by very briefly pausing after her standing jab. Once you connect her crouching forward you can easily cancel it into her ES Rolling Buckler.

To make the challenge even easier you can remap her 3 punches to :triangle:. Begin this challenge with a standing jab (:square:)(very short pause and link into), crouching forward (Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:) and cancel into Felicia's ES Rolling Buckler(Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:).

Chapter 4: Wide Character Combo

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

An easy trial if you can master the link between Felicia's crouching strong (2 hits) and standing strong. Start this challenge with a crouching strong (Rj22GZU.gif +:triangle: - 2 hits), link after the second hit animation finishes to a standing strong (:triangle:) and finish the chain with standing roundhouse (:r2:).

Chapter 5: Tall Character Combo

Difficulty rating: ★★★★★★

The key to this trial is how you angle your jump, and are able to link her 3 jumping attacks. You can watch the trial again by pressing :start: and exit, then choosing Felicia's challenge 5 again. Notice the CPU position when watching the demo, right in front of the green pillar is where you need to do this. Your initial attack must come out as you jump on your way up so input your jump (t3usGuJ.gif ) and try to aim for Victor's head on your way up for the first jumping short (:cross:), then link into a jumping jab (:triangle:) afterwards.

Keep practicing until they both come in a 2-Hit combo.

If you have fast fingers, you can double tap her jumping jab right after Felicia's jumping short and finish with her jumping fierce (:r1:). Once you land quickly input down and finish the chain combo (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:, Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:, Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:).

A1A.jpg In Search of Bananas (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "Stomped Out".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Sasquatch in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
JxltqoR.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★★★★

This fluffy looking bear might look innocent, but he's actually one of the stronger Darkstalkers characters if used properly. His overhead dashing and throws are a great asset for setting up damaging combos.

His challenges will teach you some of those, and have a pretty easy to moderate difficulty challenges, excluding challenge 5, which is on a higher difficulty level.

Chapter 1: Strong Links

Difficulty rating: ★★★

This challenge is all about connecting links. There is a difference between chain combo's and links, where the first one requests a fast input and the last one a strict timing (you can't just button mash, unless being lucky hitting the correct frame). Refer here for more information about links or p-linking. Keep in mind while p-linking that the commands are reversed compared to Street Fighter 4. In Darkstalkers, the lightest strength button gets priority over the harder ones, compared to SF4 where hard gets priority over low.

Start with a crouching strong (Rj22GZU.gif +:triangle:), link another crouching strong (Rj22GZU.gif +:triangle:) and finish with a linked standing strong (:triangle:).

Chapter 2: Air ES Cyclone Juggle

Difficulty rating: ★★

Sasquatch's easiest challenge.

Space yourself a bit from Donovan and jump up to him (t3usGuJ.gif ), inputting an ES Jumping Big Cyclone (Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:l2:). Make sure your ES jumping Big Cyclone only hit once and, once you touch the ground, immediately input a ES Big Typhoon (LROXuj5.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif +:l2:) to juggle Donovan with it, and therefore completing this challenge.

Chapter 3: Combo into Air ES Cyclone

Difficulty rating: ★★★★★

The key for this combo is using your dash at the proper distance, making sure you hit high (but not too high or else you will cross up with your second hit) and link jab to strong, canceling that last one into an ES jumping Cyclone).

For ease of execution, you can remap all 3 kicks to :circle:. Space yourself from J.Talbain at the same distance as shown in the demo (or slightly further), and start your combo with a dashing jab (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square:), link a jumping strong (:triangle:), and cancel that last one immediately into an ES jumping Big Cyclone (Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:circle:); finish the combo with a linked standing strong (:triangle:).

Chapter 4: Unguardable Reset

Difficulty rating: ★★★

Another rather easy challenge!

Again you can remap all 3 kicks to :circle: for ease of execution.

Make sure to start your combo mid screen or anywhere near mid-screen since cornering Rikuo will make you miss the Big Ice Burn!

Start with an ES Jumping Big Cyclone (t3usGuJ.gif ,Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:circle:). Once landed from your Big Cyclone, juggle Rikuo with a linked standing strong (:triangle:) and once it hits, cancel it immediately into a Big Ice Burn (ivzjt1G.gif F42pcGL.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:circle:).

Chapter 5: Dash Loop

Difficulty rating: ★★★★★★★

Sasquatch's hardest challenge by far! To make this trial slightly easier, remap roundhouse to :circle:. The hardest part is linking the first dash loop into the second one. You can do this combo mid-screen or in a corner, tough mid-screen is advised.

Build up your combo slowly, by making sure you master the first dash loop. The link for the dashing Short into dashing jab is pretty fast, so you can input those right after another. The linked roundhouse will come out with a slight delay after the jab so make sure Sasquatch is high once the first 2 hits connect (the roundhouse has a longer frame animation, hitting twice, that's why it has to come out high during the dash).

Once you got the first dash loop mastered, you can try to combo it into another dash loop but the dash part for the second dash loop will have to come out very fast since the combo resets easily once Sasquatch hits the ground.

Start the combo with a dashing short, to jumping jab (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:cross:, :square:), and link the roundhouse while buffering the second dash (:circle:, LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif ). If timed correctly, you should be dashing again right after your jumping roundhouse connected, and you can finish the combo with another short, jab, roundhouse (:cross:, :square:, :circle:).

It will take patience and a lots of tries but should eventually come out.

664.jpg Loyalty of the Kreutz (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "The Last Howl".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Jon Talbain in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
pDaI0W7.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★★

Jon Talbain is the fastest character in the Darkstalkers series and very confusing to face due to its speed and Mirage body ability. Beware when encountering him in ranked matches while attempting the (B) You Are All Free Now Trophy.

His challenges are moderately hard, as they involve strict timing and linking for some challenges.

Chapter 1: Gain Meter in Mirage Body

Difficulty rating: ★

Very easy combo requesting you to fill up your gauga meter during Talbains Mirage body. Input the Mirgae Body (ivzjt1G.gif F42pcGL.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:l2:) and complete this challenge by doing some random chain combo's rapidly!

e.g.: jumping roundhouse (t3usGuJ.gif ,:r2:) to a standing jab (:square:), standing strong (:triangle:) and standing fierce (:r1:).

Repeat this again and your challenge should be completed!

Chapter 2: ES Beast Cannon Combo

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

This can be tricky or easy and might need a bit of luck too. The difficulty here lies in connecting 2 additional Beast Cannon Directions after your first ES beast Cannon connects.

It's advised to watch the demo again if you have any doubts and map the 3 punches to :triangle: for ease of execution. Best way is to have Demitri mid screen (as shown in the demo) and cancel your crouching forward (Rj22GZU.gif +:circle:) to an ES Beast Cannon Forward (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:). Make sure it's a forward ES Beast Cannon, or else the combo will reset, and follow up with an ES Direction change (any direction +:triangle:) to ES Direction (any direction +:triangle:). Try to keep in mind Demitri's position in air when selecting your next Cannon Direction changes and this challenge should eventually pop out as completed.

Chapter 3: Air Beast Cannon

Difficulty rating: ★★★★★

The timing to pull out your ES Climb Laser is really strict here, since pulling it out too late will make you do an ES Pursuit attack instead. For ease of execution, lets map all 3 punches to :triangle: and all 3 kicks to :circle:.

Space yourself from Donovan like about a 3/4 screen distance and start by jumping up (3hi5hpf.gif ), and input the the ES Beast Cannon move (t3usGuJ.gif LROXuj5.gif Voug4wW.gif +:triangle:) at the highest peak of your jump, and immediately (while still in air) start to buffer the first input of your ES Climb Laser (Rj22GZU.gif ). The moment the ES Beast Cannon connects (try to hit Donovan's feet), immediately press (3hi5hpf.gif + :circle: ), which should you have trigger the ES Climb Laser. The timing here is really strict but keep at it and it should eventually come out.

Chapter 4: Mirage Body Cannon 1

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

Not too hard if you don't get yourself confused by the mirage body. Remap the 3 kicks to :circle: and fierce to :triangle: and lets get ready for this challenge. Input the Mirage body (ivzjt1G.gif F42pcGL.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:circle:) and jump up to Anakaris (t3usGuJ.gif ) and immediately start to buffer your ES Climb Laser (Rj22GZU.gif ). Anakaris is a tall character, so you should have no problems connecting your jumping short to jumping fierce (:cross:, :triangle:). Once landed, finish with a crouching short (:cross: - still keeping Rj22GZU.gif  buffered) and finish with the ES Climb Laser (3hi5hpf.gif + :circle:)

Chapter 5: Mirage Body Cannon 2

Difficulty rating: ★★★★

The difficulty here lies in linking the jumping jab right after your dashing short. You can refer to the following link here for more information about links. Start up your combo with a Mirage body (ivzjt1G.gif F42pcGL.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:l2:) and input a dashing short (LROXuj5.gif , LROXuj5.gif +:cross:), linking the jumping jab (:square: - hardest part) the moment the dashing short animation ends. After that its the easy part, finishing the combo with a chain standing jab to standing strong to crouching roundhouse (:square:, :triangle:, Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:)

E26.jpg Aensland of Makai (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "Sucked Dry".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Morrigan in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
JyCA1Qp.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★★★★★★★★

Morrigan is a very versatile character with interesting air dash angles helping you stay on top of your opponent, which you can mix up with her multi hitting overheads and cross ups. Above that, she possesses the most interesting and flashy EX move in the game.

The difficulty in Morrigan's trials resides in how easily and fast you can pull out her EX Darkness Illusion (DI). If you are able to pull it out fast and consistently, this trophy should be yours. Morrigan's DI is one of the very few EX moves in the game able to cancel any attack or chains and the trials will use this ability a few times. If you are unsure about a specific challenge regarding timing, position or anything else then remember you can watch the demo any time (by hitting :start: and choosing 'exit', which will bring you back to the trial menu for the given character). All challenges below are described with the default buttons, unless specified otherwise but you can remap some buttons for ease of execution.

Challenge 1: Follow a Soul Fist

Challenge difficulty: ★

Easy challenge introducing Morrigan's Soul Fist and Shell Kick.

Start at mid screen distance with a Light Soul Fist (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:square:) and follow up immediately with a dashing jab (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square:) and finish it with a Shell Kick the moment you connect your jab (Rj22GZU.gif + any kick).

Challenge 2: Dashing Jab Combo

Challenge difficulty: ★★

Another easy challenge; finishing with a chain combo.

Start with a dashing jab (LROXuj5.gif ,LROXuj5.gif +:square:), making sure to hit deep and immediately input her Shell kick (Rj22GZU.gif + any kick) and finish the combo with a chain crouching short (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:) to crouching roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:).

Challenge 3: Aerial Illusion

Challenge difficulty: ★★★★★

This might be easy or tricky, depending on how easy you pull out Morrigan's DI. The easiest way should be to just jump up and do you DI move, making sure your first jab hits Victor high. If done quickly, you should connect the first jab (:square: -> starting the DI move), whiff (miss) the second jab (your second punch input (:square:)is buffered during the first punch animation), towards + short (LROXuj5.gif +:cross:), hitting Victor a second time and quickly finishing it with a fierce (:r1:), which should have you finish your combo with Morrigan's DI. You can remap 'fierce' to the :triangle: button to make it even easier.

Another method (submitted by Chozen1), is to simply do a Jumping jab (:square:) and Jumping short(:cross:), then right as you land link into a Standing Roundhouse(:r2:). The standing roundhouse should hit 4 times, giving you plenty of frame animation to cancel it into Morrigan's DI.(:square:, :square:LROXuj5.gif +:cross:,:r1:)

Challenge 4: Darkness Illusion combo

Challenge difficulty: ★★★★★★★★

Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:, Rj22GZU.gif +:r1:, Darkness Illusion (:square:, :square:, LROXuj5.gif +:cross:,:r1:).

While this short combo looks simple, this is actually Morrigan's hardest trial due to the tiny frame window to cancel her crouching fierce into DI. Sadly, you can't buffer her light punch during her crouching fierce by pushing both buttons together (which does work in SSF4 but not in Darkstalkers since light gets priority over hard when pushed together). The easiest way would be to map your fierce to :triangle: so you can cancel her crouching fierce to a DI by pianoing/sliding very quickly to your jab (:square:) and start inputting the rest of Morrigan's DI as fast as you can.

Challenge with remapping: (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:,Rj22GZU.gif +:triangle:) while pianoing/sliding as fast as you can to (:square:, :square:) and finishing with (LROXuj5.gif +:cross:, :triangle:). It is a cancel but the key for this challenge is about getting a clean fast input for Morrigan's DI. Keep practicing and it should come out if you are fast enough!

Challenge 5: Astral Vision Valkyrie Turn

Challenge difficulty: ★★★★★★★

This pretty flashy combo looks difficult but is rather easy compared to the previous one, since you got a larger frame window to cancel your last move into Morrigan's DI. Start with Morrigan's Astral Vision (:square:, :square:,LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:, :r1:) and immediately follow up with Morrigan's (light version of her) Valkyrie Turn (LROXuj5.gif Voug4wW.gif Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:cross:).

Make sure you input her Valkyrie Turn right after her Astral Visions or else the combo will fail. Once the Valkyrie Turn hits, hit crouching jab twice (Rj22GZU.gif +:square:,Rj22GZU.gif +:square:), each of them hitting twice, then linking into a standing roundhouse (:r2:). The standing roundhouse will hit 4 times (8 times with Morrigan's double), giving you enough frame time to cancel it into her Darkness Illusion (:square:, :square:, LROXuj5.gif +:cross:, :r1:). Linking your crouching jabs to a standing roundhouse and cancelling with a fast DI input is key to this challenge.

350.jpg We Are Many (B)

Complete the first tier of award "The Robot Apocalypse".

This Trophy will unlock once you cleared all 5 Challenges for Huitzil in Night Warriors.

Spoiler
ZEO6sGJ.png

Trophy difficulty on 10: ★

Huitzil, also known as Phobos in Japan, is the one possessing the easiest challenges. With the right button remapping and no nasty links, this trophy shouldn't take much time! If you are unsure about a specific challenge regarding timing, position or anything else, then remember you can watch the demo any time (by hitting :start: and choosing 'exit', which will bring you back to the trial menu for the given character). All challenges below are described with the default buttons, unless specified otherwise but you can remap some buttons for ease of execution.

Chapter 1: Chain Combo

Difficulty rating: ★

An easy challenge introducing the classic Darkstalker chain combo. Chain combo's just need a quick input (similar to Street Fighters target combo's), canceling into each other. Crouching short (Rj22GZU.gif +:cross:), standing forward (:circle:), crouching roundhouse (Rj22GZU.gif +:r2:).

Chapter 2: Confusioner Combo

Difficulty rating: ★

Another easy challenge, where you need to cancel Huitzil's standing short to his Confusioner. You can remap the 3 kicks to :circle: to make it even easier. Standing short (:cross:), cancel into Confusioner (LROXuj5.gif Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif +:circle:).

Chapter 3: Final Guardian Plasma Beam

Difficulty rating: ★

And yet another very easy challenge, even easier with some button remapping. Map the 3 punches to :triangle: and the 3 kicks to :circle:. Once Lord raptor is in the air, input the following combo: Final Guardian (LROXuj5.gif Voug4wW.gif Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:circle:), ES Plasma Beam (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:).

Chapter 4: Explosion Juggle

Difficulty rating: ★

Map the 3 punches to :triangle: and the 3 kicks to :circle: and you are set for yet another very easy challenge. Start your ES Might Launcher at full screen distance once the CPU is in the air (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:circle:) and juggle him with a ES Plasma Beam right after it connects (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:triangle:).

Chapter 5: ES Bomb, Final Guardian, ES Vulcan

Difficulty rating: ★

A very flashy and damaging combo, yet so easy to pull out. While the demo requests you to cancel your dash into a Final Guardian after your ES Mighty Launcher hits, you can actually complete this challenge without the dash to make it even easier. We will remap the 3 punches to :triangle: and the 3 kicks to :circle: again.

Corner L. Raptor and input the Mighty Launcher when he is about to land (Rj22GZU.gif Voug4wW.gif LROXuj5.gif +:circle:) and immediately input the Final Guardian (LROXuj5.gif Voug4wW.gif Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif ivzjt1G.gif +:circle:) and finish this combo with an ES Genocide Vulcan (ivzjt1G.gif Rj22GZU.gif F42pcGL.gif +:triangle:).

B11.jpg First One's Free (B)

Complete the first tier of the award "First Lesson".

The Trophy can be acquired in the single player mode of the Darkstalker 3 game mode. You are only required to complete 1 lesson from whatever character you chose so if the first lesson from a specific character does give you problems, you can always select another character and complete the mission to award you the trophy!

0E6.jpg Grab a Notepad (B)

Complete the third tier of the award "My Collection".

The easiest trophy of them all. Just go to 'multiplayer' (for either version of the game) and save 10 replays (either your own, your friends or from other online players). You don't need to watch them, just saving them will do. There might be a small delay for your trophy to unlock due to server syncing.

Finished dark stalkers 3 without continuing, 1 round, no problems at all.

As for the other one, it is harder, I used a second controller to press start and get a challenger whenever my health was depleated, so basically i didn't lose any match in it, I guess I can't do that then...

How do you use that move you mentioned (by victor)? I used Talbain in both games..

I never used the 2 controller method, so thx for pointing out it won't unlock while doing so.

I personally finished the game with Morrigan, my all time favourite character, but Victor is a nice and easy option if you wanna go quick and easy.

Basically you start the match with Victors electric punch (keep standing fierce punch slithly pressed to generate electricity. Once it hits you close in a bit on the CPU and follow up with another one and try to keep him cornered with that move each time the CPU tries to get up.

I will try to post a video later...

I agree with the current trophy difficultly rating being at a 9/10. Rikuo's trophy alone should've been a silver trophy instead of "Godlike". These trophies bring back horrible memories of me finally finishing Mega Man 10 for the "Mr.Perfect" trophy only to find out it was just a silver trophy.
