Boss Guide *spoilers*

This my first time creating a guide, but I figured I try since this is a fairly new game and I don't see anyone else with one on here yet, I also see alot of people struggling on some bosses in the threads. I hope this helps those who having a hard time and reach their plat

0. Straga v1

This is more of a test than a fight to see if you know how to aim well with cars. His attacks mainly consist of using his big hands to attack you or throw things which in turn you should throw back at him. Straga will begin by reaching into his lava pool and throwing, surprisingly not melted cars, at you if you look around carefully there will be more than one car, you need 2 to knock him out each time, two well placed cars to the head will bring the big guy down to your level where it's time to put your sword to his face. With a clean chain off on his head he'll grab your platform and try to pull it up off the ground but really only raising your height then he'll roar and if you're sneaky you can actually hit his head again, but the roar does damage you if close enough. Repeat the throwing 2 cars at his head again, if you happen to be to slow he'll attack with fist pounds that shoot forward and straight to the back of you so dodge with a dash,

[spoiler=1]eventually the action will come up you'll poke Straga's eye out and then be sent back to the fight for a few seconds, just to have it end badly for War, alittle unfair

sub 1a Shadow General

This guy is pretty much a stronger version of what he summons, those weaker purple goat demons that plague the charred earth along with the zombies, dodge his swipes and be sure to dash in and out, when he does summon his buddies be sure to aim for them and not him since he is invulnerable at this point, when they're gone continue hacking away at him and he'll summon more, eventually he'll have taken so much damage the O will pop up above his head and he'll go down.

sub 1b. The Jailer

At the start of the fight you want your Crossblade ready and aiming at his three glowing weak spots on his shoulder, ignore and dodge his spawns since they just keep coming from him, when all three spots are hit at the same time with your Crossblade he'll fall to the ground and now's your chance to combo his green/yellow thing that hides in the cage in his chest. When you see him getting up dash away because he's about to do a painful ground swipe in front of him, whenever his weak spots turn red he's much faster and stronger. Repeat this atleast 2 more times, depending on how many times you hit the thing in the cage when he's down, and his weak spots will eventually stay red, when that happens the action finisher will pop up and War will fell the big guy

1. Tiamat

To start off head to the nearest bomb spawn point and snatch one, aiming towards Tiamat and making sure to stick one to her and not an arch. With a successful throw and placement pull out your Crossblade and aim for the torch and then the bomb on her, be sure to avoid her fireballs see spews out by dashing or air dashing. When she's blown up by the bomb she'll fall down, now's your chance to attack her with about 2 chains of attacks because by then she's getting up and causing a wide counter attack. Now it's time to test your reflex skills because Tiamat is not going to be hovering around the edges of the area instead she'll fly around the background awhile then stop at the edge and come charging at you, she can not be hit by bombs at this point due to the speed she uses causes the bombs to fall off her. After dodging her she'll go back to her usual pattern and you'll blow her up again and hack away. This time when she gets up she stays on the ground, now use whatever means of attacking you want, be sure to dash away from her swipes and far away when she jumps and comes crashing down. Eventually, after so much damage to her, a cut scene will occur and the action finisher will appear for a few seconds above her, if you miss she'll torch you with a fireball and if you're low on health you're dead, if not continue to fight her and dodge her and eventually the death scene will occur automatically.

[spoiler=2]War will clip her wings and you're on way to your next area.

sub 2a. Ulthane

Ulthane isn't much of a fight but there is one catch if you want to go toe to toe with the Old One, you have to fight him in Chaos Form, nothing else can hurt him and if you have used Chaos before the fight you'll need to hack away at him until your chaos fills up, he hits hard so be sure to dodge him as well as use only the Chaoseater, chaos will not generate from any other weapon besides the sword so scythe users beware. When you do finally go into Chaos Form, Ulthane pretty much wets himself while you pummel him with your big red demon form and you toss him around like a rag doll eventually ending the fight in a somewhat draw

sub 2b. Uriel v1

Uriel is really a push over in this battle, but if you can't dodge her attacks she can tear you up fast, use the chest in the middle of the area if you're low on health. Uriel has a few basic attacks, an air dive with a downward thrust easily dodge by dashing away, a similar move that ends up with her releasing a small line of electricity on the ground towards War dodged by dashing as well, and a similar slash movement to War's R1 + triangle move, dodged by dashing backwards. To defeat her you just really have to dodge her and slash her after she attacks, the battle doesn't change much and as long as you can dodge with dashes you can easily down her

2. Griever

There are two encounters with this big bug to squish, the first is more like a shooting game since you lack the tools to hurt her really, just pick up the gun and aim at the shiny belly with charged attacks, eventually she'll get bored and jump away, taunting you throughout her lair with her random appearances. The second time you've literally cornered her and are ready to play exterminator. First thing you need to do is clear a path for your cart, be sure to clear the closest crystals to her first since her beam will not only make the crystal turn orange and heat up but also cause it to hurt War when he tries to smash it. Once all the crystals are cleared from the tracks it's time to start charging up your fist and punching the cart into her, the first time you hit her with the cart she'll just stomp around and cause the ceiling to fall around you, just run in circles and you can dodge anything that falls around you, do not bother trying to hit her again while debris is falling or she is ramming the walls you will either get hit by rocks or hit her just have the cart pushed back to where it was. Once she calms down and starts firing her beam again you are safe to push the cart back into her again. This time she'll fall down and you need to run up and use your gauntlet to bust open her shiny belly revealing her weak spot. Now when she gets up she'll send you those little green bugs throughout the lair which is good since they turn into health if you grab them. After you've sliced or squashed the last bug you need to repeat the cart pushing method 2 more time, dodging rocks and all,

[spoiler=3]then she'll fall for good and the finisher will pop up and War will ram his gauntlet into her belly.

sub 3. Abyssal Horsemen

After fighting alot of waves of demons you might be tired by now and even if you used one or both chests in the back you can still win, the key to this fight is dodging and countering with a dash back in. The first half is like any other abyssal rider fight, if you land a well placed hit he gets stunned and defenseless like any other rider, just be sure to dash away when he gets back up or you'll be hit by a fiery splash from his horse. As long as you keep hitting him and dodging his attacks the action command will pop up and War will knock him off the horse for a one on one match. This part can be deadly if you don't know how to dash and dodge fast. His main attacks are much like Uriel's a jump and downward thrust, forward slash the only thing you really need to watch out for his the abyssal bomb the riders use, because this guy will spam in three times in a row, well balanced dashes can help you dodge all three blasts. Continue to hack and slash him while dodging his moves and the fight will be over

[spoiler=4]and War will make sure the rider never rides another horse again.

3. Stygian

This is one big worm and he's got a big metal cork in the way of his weak spot so no bullets can hurt him right now instead you'll have to dodge him with Ruin's dashes until eventually you can run side by side with the worm, slashing at the metal cork with your sword until it breaks off and the real fight begins. Now it's just like the other worm fight just Stygian can call its babies to fight if it manages to get its cry off, whenever it pops out of the ground and isn't chasing you shoot it as fast as you can or it will call for smaller white/green worms to chase you until you pop enough bullets in them, this also lengthens the fight so you want to interrupt it as much as possible. When it is chasing you, fire like a mad man into its mouth and avoid the darker solid areas in the ash it will usually let out a cry if it hits those areas. Like the other worm Stygian will eventually fall to the ground with enough bullets to its mouth and the action command will pop up,

[spoiler=5]hit O and dive down into the ashes to finish the fight.

sub 4. Broodmother

This big spider has a nasty appetite, but we can use that to our advantage, you'll need to have the chain ready and dodge her charges at you then she will try to suck you in but instead grab a webbed cocoon on the ceiling with your chain and throw it into her mouth, she'll chow down while you run around to the back and slam your gauntlet into her back, revealing her week spot. Now she's not too happy and hops up and down creating shockwaves, simply jump over each one and dodge her charge again feeding her another cocoon whenever she starts sucking in, this time hitting her weak spot with whatever weapon of your choice, continue this pattern until the action finisher appears

[spoiler=6]and slice open her butt to open the way to the biggest spider of them all

4. Silithia

This spider is not what you'd expect, she loves crawling walls and well teleporting, you got me there on that one, but even as a wall crawling teleporter she's no match for a guy with a grappling chain. First never go charging into her she'll just teleport away and be sure to never grapple her when she's not standing still on the other side of the room, you'll miss and she'll laugh at you. To start off grapple her and hack away at her, she'll teleport away and teleport around until finally teleporting above you to slam down on top of you, dash away quickly or you're going to get squashed. She'll eventually teleport to the other side and stay still again, grapple her like before and hack away again, continuing this until she starts teleporting onto the walls, at this point she'll now do one of two things, teleport above you as usual or teleport right in front of you and swipe at you as well as attack with her own combo, dodge by dashing to either side. After grappling and hitting her enough times she'll eventually retreat to the ceiling and fleeing from War's reach for the moment, but soon she'll release blue glowing lights around her that will turn into grapple points, grapple the closest one to you and then grapple her

[spoiler=7]War will pry her off the ceiling and send her crashing below to end the fight

sub 5. Well Guardians

There are three of these big machines and you have to take down one each time to get through this place, sadly they aren't that tough since they are have two attacks, swing their chain around or charge and throw it at War which they will get stuck in the ground. Though each fight is different they all fight the same it just requires some tactics for some of the rooms. The first room is easy, charge the Voidwalker and create two portals between the guardian, enter one and glide on top of the machine, hitting O to jab into its head and causing it to crash for a few seconds from there simply hack away at it and it will eventually get up and go berserk swinging its chain around with a red trail and much faster, dash away repeat this twice to down each one, putting their chains to good use. The second room requires you to lure the guardian into smashing the crates over the Voidwalker symbols, let it smash two with its charged attack and create portals between it like usual, taking it down like the first one. The final room can be dealt with just like the first but be sure not to charge the Voidwalker portal that is at the very top of the wall it will make you over shoot the guardian's top, the portal you make at the bottom doesn't matter since the exit boost is only affected by the portal you come out of

5. Straga v2

It's payback time and War is more than ready to dish it out, Straga's back and he's fully armed this time with a mace and huge armor, too bad it won't protect him from War. At the start aim for the mace's Voidwalker symbol since it moves you want that portal in place first, next pick a Voidwalker symbol on either side and create a portal, the key here is to wait for Straga to lift his mace behind him when he's about to slam down on War, if you miss the portal on his mace be sure to dash away before it comes crashing down on you, once the mace is behind Straga jump in your portal and you'll fall onto Straga's shoulder guard where his weak spot is, run up to it hit O and thrust your sword into it, Straga will fall like his earlier version and you should know what to do then, hack away at his head. When he gets up he'll bring his mace high up and smash the ceiling a few times, calling in reinforcements, take them out but remember to keep an eye on Straga, he'll play dirty and slam his fist down every once in awhile, be sure to dodge his fist and if you're lucky he'll hit some of his buddies instead, hitting Straga's weak points cause the enemies to become stronger each time he summons them, first it will be green flaming skeletons, then the red glowing fallen that look like corrupted angel warriors. With his allies gone Straga changes up his moves and will now slide his mace across the area, dashing will not save you this time, instead create two charged portals on each side and use them to jumps from the side his mace doesn't land on to the side it did while he is sliding it across the area. When that attack is avoided Straga starts slamming his mace down again like usual, now repeat the portal to mace trick and this time you'll land on his back armor where another weak point is, do the same as before and hack his face up. Repeat this one last time and the cut scene will occur,

[spoiler=8]War will pull off a sick combo with the chain and Voidwalker and pull off Straga's face as well

sub Final. Uriel v2

She's back and she didn't come unprepared, not much has changed besides her usual attacks, but she did bring new and better ones to the party. First off you'll have to combo her alot, by now you should have a pretty powered up Chaoseater and most of its moves, the dash combos will help you start a nice combo off her after her attacks. Her new attacks include a powered up version of her lightning attack, now staying on the ground longer and shooting more waves of lightning out and pretty much raining judgment down on your head, in other words alot of blades, you can see where the blades will appear by the pillars of light that come down first, avoid the lights at all costs or you may very well end up in a chain of swords falling down around you. Other than those two the tactics should be pretty much the same as the first fight, she has alot of health so you're in for a long fight, possibly more than even the final boss

Final. The Destroyer

So it's down to this you, your horse, and a big dragon with a glowing red hot clawed gauntlet, All we're missing is the Triforce. Anyways to start the fight off you want to be running from the big bad dragon and fast, because he hurts alot, after you dodge him call Ruin and start a game of chicken with the Destroyer, simply charge into the Destroyer and hit him first he'll go tumbling down and you'll have to chop him up with your shiny new sword, this is the only weapon that will hurt him, much like Ulthane and Chaos Form. So after his roaring of pain he'll get back up breathe fire at you and fly away like a bird, a very big bird. Like most bosses you should already know what's coming next, a stomp down on your face, so get back on Ruin and be sure to charge right before the Destroyer comes crashing down so you don't get poor Ruin flattened like a pancake and you most likely slashed by a charging dragon. After he lands the Destroyer will dash around again you have to hit him again with your sword, when he falls down to the ground hit him again and now he'll rise up and land and fly away about three times, after that it's back to the jousting and taking him down one last time, a quick cut scene will occur when you charge at him and the action command will appear above him in a few seconds, hit O and prepare for round two. Now it's down to a good old fashion sword duel mano-o-mano, two phases to a final boss like that hasn't been done before, to start off this guy blocks, alot, if he's not attacking you you'll probably attacking him and he's just blocking, be sure to strike whenever he finishes his attack, one attack can make the difference, luckily with your god mode sword it takes alot less hits to down him, you'll know you're close since you'll have to button mash the square each time, the third time War slams down the Destroyer and hard. So in the process of triggering the button mashes here's what you'll want to avoid, his normal swings are easy enough, and of course the downward ground slam like all the others. At one point he'll hover high above, run or dash to the back of the area and hug a pillar because three chunks of land are about to be hurled at you and standing next to a pillar can block atleast two of the three, the 3rd one can hit you since it's aimed straight at you. His final ace in the hole is pretty much a copy cat of Silithia's, he'll teleport around the place and then when you can lock onto him again, hold R2 down at all times, he'll come charging at you, dash to the side because if it hits he'll unleash a combo on you ending in the downward thrust slam. When all said and is down and you've seen your third button mash successful rest easy Horsemen, because the battle is over, for now

Hidden. Wicked K aka British Top Hat Zombie

So if you explored around previous areas like you should be doing you should run into a very interesting character, Wicked K, or so he has been dubbed, is not just you're ordinary British talking zombie, oh no no no, this guy is what can turn a great day into an unlucky death to inexperienced explorers. Who is Wicked K? Why is he British? What's with his hat? All very good questions...but I have no idea, but I can enlighten you on how to not only school him but also walk out of there alive. First off Wicked K is hidden, as the name suggests he's not exactly a boss you can just find by doing the storyline, instead you have to complete an area in the storyline and Wicked K will show up after the area is dealt with, which makes it easier when you're going back to find the rest of those chests and artifacts you can just stop by and pay Wicked K a visit. So where can we find Wicked K, four known locations so far and may be the only locations, the first chance you can meet Wicked K is after clearing Choking Grounds and heading towards Broken Stair, he is in the crypt you reveal by pulling the tomb back on the southeast corner on the map, second is Drowned Pass where you go to fight one of the shadow lurkers, it is near the north of the map and accessed only by falling into the water and going into a tunnel, be aware that Wicked K will spawn here even if there are enemies, he did with me, third is right next door in Anvil's Ford, you honestly can't miss this one unless you're not going for the shards, he's right in front of the grapple point you use to get the wrath shard in Anvil's Ford,

[spoiler=9]this is located where you meet up with Ulthane again during your little contest

, the final spot is sadly not accessible till after you get your chain, but it is highly recommended you go into Wicked K's final spot with all 10 lifestones because the more you fight him the stronger he gets until the fourth encounter he's chipping away one lifestone per combo from him, it is located outside of Twilight Cathedral, you need to use the grapple points to reach the other side there in lava hardened area Wicked K awaits to take you down old chap. So now you know where he is, let's see what you'll be in for from the zombie with a hat. Wicked K has a few attacks, some he won't use until later fights, by the 4th time he's using all the hat tricks, including his hat. Wicked K attacks with his cane in a boomerang fashion, throwing it at you once and then coming back to him in the same direction, he will also swing around with his cane, be sure to dash away and counter with your sword by dashing back in to get off a quick combo, he will literally summon his hat underneath you and it will grow and rise up to deal major damage dashing and more than once because somehow this is an AoE attack. To defeat Wicked K on the 4th run and reap the bounty of souls you'll have to treat him like the final boss and attack him right after he attacks otherwise he'll just block your attacks, if you think you got blocking down then by all means try to block counter him, you'll hit him hard and be that much closer to a pile of souls. Once Wicked K has taken enough damage each time he'll hop away in his hat and leave you a large amount of souls

Wow, seems pretty thorough, this is gonna be really useful when a guide is written up. I haven`t read some parts of it, as I want to figure them out myself, but everything else seems great. There was even some parts I had no idea about, like you had to defeat Ulthane in Chaos form (I just did it without realizing it`s necessary).

He's not so bad until the 4th time, that's the point his attacks can hit your health bar hard so if you're one of those players who doesn't dodge or block you're not going to last long against him, I personally never died on him but I had the armor to back me up in hard, though even with it Mister K did manage to bring down me to half of my full 10 lifestones health before the fight was over

as for the spoiler tags I'm pretty sure this whole section would be a spoiler that's why included it in the thread's title because it makes the text smaller and hard to read the only thing that I would probably do is spoiler tag the finishers since some of them do explain what War does during the boss' death cutscene:think:

if you read the spoiler tag FAQ, saying "spoilers" in the title is not good enough, just trying to help you out so you don't get an infraction =]

anyways good job

I have to admit that after reading this I was hyped up to fight that zombie, because I was thinking he gave lots of blue orbs...but then I fought him and the amount I recieved was a joke...so I forged the armageddon blade, and went on my way to fight the destroyer...what a joke...silitha was harder in my eyes than the lost boss was...I am highly disappointed in the bosses in the game...

Tiamat imo is the strongest of all the bosses, rest was pretty easy for me and Silitha died on my first attempt.

Btw Sol,i have a question about Stygian:

Stygian can call its babies to fight if it manages to get its cry off, whenever it pops out of the ground and isn't chasing you shoot it as fast as you can or it will call for smaller white/green worms

I already killed him but everytime i tried to shoot him while he popped out of the ground to summon small monsters either it wasnt effective or he was covering his mouth and spinning around so i cant hit him in the mouth, how are You supposed to stop him from summoning?

During my two playthroughs I had two different outcomes with Stygian's fight, the first time he only summoned the smaller ones once and there was only two of them every other time he came up to roar I just kept firing at him he stopped roaring, maybe it's just a fake out, but I never saw anymore spawns the whole fight, the seocnd time through he got off his first summoning and the two showed up as usual, but he managed to get off another summon roar and three of those midgets were chasing after me this time, I think it's the closer he gets to death the more worms he summons after you, either way I had two different fights so maybe it's all depends on luck and speed

I didn't find Mister K too tough as well, I may have emphasized alittle too much on his power, but hey he's hidden and I have to get him to meet new people somehow, think of it as a way to show where Vigil put in alittle surprise

Destroyer second phase is trivial if you got counter attack nailed down. Counter him twice (he does two swings), the second counter stuns him and you can land enough blows to bring the square mini game each time. If you have abyssal armor (which everyone probably does at that point), you get very little damage from his other attacks (charge, stones) - I didn't try to evade them, and lost about 2 skulls the whole fight from these. While the setting was epic, the fight was anything but :(

I found most of the bosses more like another puzzle, half the time you damage them more with action commands or environment than combos, but atleast it wasn't randomize buttons, except for the square button at the end, I think the final boss battle is so fast because of the weapon you're using, it has the equivalence of a lvl 4 weapon and possibly even stronger

lol it's actually alot higher pay than most enemies, I believe the fourth time he gives about 1k+ souls and since most of the bosses give no souls it's actually pretty high, but in reality even with constant use of the scythe and having the armor with you at the start, armor chests will give you extra souls if you open them in a new playthroughs if you chose the armor at the start, you'll still come nowhere close to maxing out everything, I had yet to even upgrade all wrath powers to lvl 2 by the time I had opened all chests, killed Mister K four times, and maxed out my scythe, it was using reaper since by the time I got death's enchantment it was already maxed out XD

What does "The Destroyer" drop after beating him? I have collected everything except for one lifestone and one wrath shard. I swear I have searched every map, tunnel, serpent hole, whatever.

PS- I had already beaten him and received the silver and gold trophies. However it dropped me back out and thats when I began collecting. Any suggestions would be awesome.

EDIT: Azrael is still "waiting" for me at the top of the map which makes it seem like I can fight the destroyer again.. hence why i am asking

Destroyer drops nothing. Game over, back to title screen. If you can continue playing, you glitched unlike 99% of us.

Most commonly missed wrath shard is in tunnel just after Dry roads. Look in the room with the cable and the three tentacles over it. Check map, there is a second layer to the map in that area with a chest.

As for life shard, I think one commonly missed is in Black Throne, near the room with the 3 platforms and the "weights".

Be sure to check Anvil's Ford, I had all the shards besides that one by the time I was heading towards the final boss, and even after I collected everything in my first run, I couldn't believe I forgot about it XD just watch out for Mister K;)

I ran the to each area about 20 times searching for my last life shard...before I read that you can miss one even with the Fury Embrace on. I missed the one in the Dark Throne in the room with the 3 platforms hanging from purple chains...its on the second level of the Dark Throne..I would go back there and check because when I did I discovered this chest and it didnt show up until I was actually on that floor of that map...wierd...

I don't believe you are able to stop him from summoning his babies. You just have to kill them. Just constantly shoot at them with Mercy.

I feel like an idiot but I can't get anywhere with Silithia. I've tried all the suggestions and it seems no matter what I wind up dead very quickly. I can't see to dodge anything she does.

Any thoughts?

Yeah use the abyssal chain to get close and attack...then just use R1 to dodge around the screen until she is still again...then rinse and repeat...once she ends up on the ceiling use the blue orbs to get up to the ceiling...then jump towards her and use the chain...boss dead!
