-Does this game have stacking trophy sets: (2) Europe, Everywhere Else

-Required Peripherals: Playstation Move

Section 2. Introduction

Dance Dance Revolution is the first DDR game to come out on the current generation consoles. If you've been a fan of the series from the previous two console generations you'll surely notice some of the new modes and the absence of a few modes from previous versions. But this is the biggest thing of all; THE PLAYSTATION MOVE IS REQUIRED FOR THE PLATINUM. The Dance Mat, while not required, will help speed up the calorie burning trophies. So the first thing you should do is secure both items, even if you just borrow them.

Section 3. Walkthrough

Before you begin working on the main part of the game, go to the TUTORIAL MODE and play through all the lessons (Playstation Move is Required) for two trophies. Whether you've been stepping for years or are just starting this introduces you to some of the new concepts in the game. From here you can choose whatever game modes you want to play, but I'm offering some advice for those not familiar with stepping and wish to earn this platinum.

Club Mode is important as going through it multiple times will unlock all the hidden songs, however each time you go through Club Mode you will raise the song stats. Raising the stats on a song will allow it to raise the difficulty faster which will also make attaining the Club Master trophy harder. If you are not proficient with the songs and play Club Mode a lot you are technically shooting yourself in the foot; you will not be proficient enough to earn Club Master and raise the difficulty of each song with every attempt you make. I would advise playing in Free Mode until you can regularly earn AAA ranks on every song and then attempt Club Mode.

Section 3.1 - Training Mode Trophies

There are two trophies in here, neither of which are difficult. Choose a song, tweak the options and play through the song to get both trophies.

Section 3.2 - Workout (Calorie) Trophies

These trophies will come naturally as you play the game with the Dance Pad or Playstation Move. Just set up your workout profile and play the game, you'll get these long before you get the platinum. You can speed up the calorie burn with putting your weight at maximum and abusing how the Dance Pad tracks calories.

Section 3.3 - Dance Off Trophies

There are only two trophies here, both of which are easy but a bit time consuming. DANCE OFF MODE is made to simulate having 2 or more players utilizing the same dance pad but you can perform the requirements on your own.

Section 3.4 - Club Mode Trophies

These are the most time consuming and skill based trophies. You'll need to finish a song set (4 songs minimum) with a performance capable of every rank (D, C, B, A, AA, AAA). You'll also need to perform a set list of 20 songs, a combo of 1,000 steps and manage a score of 1,000,000,000. But the most time consuming part will be maxing out the status of every (non DLC) song, which is a sizable time investment. With each playthrough of Club Mode you will also earn progress to unlocking all hidden songs.

Section 3.5 - Playstation Move Trophies

There are only a handful of these trophies and they're relatively easy to get. Using the Playstation Move you'll go into MOVE & STEP and knock these trophies out of the way. The most difficult one is to earn a rank in every (non DLC) song, which can be done on beginner difficulty. You will need to unlock all the songs in CLUB MODE before you can obtain all of the Playstation Move trophies.

Section 3.6 - Skill Based Trophies

These can be done in either FREE PLAY MODE or MOVE & STEP, I advise choosing MOVE & STEP if you want to speed up the process. You will need to score a rank in every (non DLC) song with MOVE & STEP on top of the other trophies. You'll need to perform 100 AAA ranks, 100 full combos, a score of 1,000,000 at least 100 times and perform songs with handicaps set on your arrows. These will probably take some time to get but most of these can be done by playing all songs on the two easiest difficulties.

Section 3.7 - Miscellaneous Clean Up

There are a few obscure trophies here. You'll need to activate the GROOVE TRIGGER 5 times in a single song on EXPERT (or higher) difficulty, get 3 CHAIN ARROW BONUSES and export a recording of a song you played through. Most of these can be attained while going through FREE PLAY MODE or MOVE & STEP for the Skill Based Trophies, but if you missed them you can focus on them now.

Go to WORKOUT PROFILE, enter your weight and turn on the Calorie Counter. At the end of every song in FREE PLAY MODE, CLUB MODE, MOVE & STEP and TRAINING MODE you will see how many calories you burned over the course of the songs. Burn up to 5,000 calories.

An easier way to cheat this trophy is enter your weight at the maximum (500 lbs), go to an easy song and mash the arrows on the Dance Mat (with your hands or feet). It counts calories for every time an arrow is pressed, so mash the arrows and your calories will climb much faster.

Note: Requires the Dance Mat or Playstation Move.

Attain the rank of CLUB MASTER in CLUB MODE.

In CLUB MODE, play through a set of 4 (or more) songs in the OTHERS CLUBS and end with a rating of AAA.

This should be one of your first trophies in CLUB MODE. As you play through songs and fill their progress bars, they become harder with more tricks to throw at you and are more likely to change difficulties sooner. The longer you delay this trophy, the more difficult it will become to attain. If you feel you need to practice more you can do so in TRAINING, MOVE & STEP and FREE PLAY MODE.

With the introduction of Cloud Saves with Playstation Plus, earning this trophy can be manipulated. The Game Data for this game can't be copied, except to the Cloud Save system. Earn every trophy and then make a backup on the Cloud. Delete the Game Data from your PS3, this will clear the difficulty on all Club Songs making getting Club Master much easier.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/46.jpg1000 COMBO! (B)

Rack up 1,000 or more combos in CLUB MODE.

In CLUB MODE set the song count in OTHERS CLUBS to 20 and focus as best you can to reach this goal. If you're good at timing your steps to only get a GOOD rating the game will not throw many tricks or raise the difficulty. The game also seems to interpret GROOVE TRIGGERS the same as GOOD steps. This trophy also works well when going for BILLIONAIRE and DANCE MASTER.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/47.jpgBILLIONAIRE (S)

Score 1,000,000,000 or more in CLUB MODE.

In CLUB MODE put the number of songs to a high number and do your best to maintain a high combo and use groove triggers as much as you can. Each steps point value goes up exponentially with each trick, difficulty raise and new song. This trophy also works well when going for 1000 COMBO! and DANCE MASTER.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/48.jpgDANCE MASTER (B)

Clear OTHER CLUBS in CLUB MODE with the number of songs set to 20.

In CLUB MODE go to OTHERS CLUBS and put the number of songs on 20 then clear the entire playlist (all 20 songs). This trophy can also be attained alongside 1000 COMBO! and BILLIONAIRE.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/49.jpgTRICK MASTER (H)(S)

Fill each Song Status bar in Club Mode to their maximums. (Except Downloaded Songs)

This trophy will be your biggest time investment. First you must unlock every available song (see SONG COLLECTOR), then you must play Club Mode over and over until the progress bar on every song is completely filled. The hardest songs (MAX 300, Crazy <3 Love, New York EVOLVED) only appear very late on the setlist and only past the 12 song mark, so it's best to set the setlist to 20 songs. To help make this go faster, it's best to keep your system free of DLC songs as they'll appear and hinder your progress to play songs you need for this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/50.jpgSONG COLLECTOR (H) (G)

Unlock all the hidden songs.

In CLUB MODE play through OTHER CLUBS songs until your Dance Status Bar is filled. Songs are unlocked as the bar gets filled and the final song is unlocked when you fill it to the top.

Section 5 - Playstation Move Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/51.jpgNEW STYLE DDR (B)

Play MOVE & STEP.

In MOVE & STEP MODE play through any song on any difficulty.

Note: Playstation Move is required.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/52.jpgCreate Spectacular videos! (B)

Control the MOVE & STEP screen in VJ Mode.

In MOVE & STEP MODE go to VJ Mode and use the Playstation Move to move the screen. The trophy will pop at the end of the song.

Note: Playstation Move required.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/53.jpgEnjoy MOVE & STEP with Two Players! (B)

Two players can enjoy MOVE & STEP!

You will need two Playstation Move controllers for this and two other types of controllers. The other type of controller will be either a Dualshock 3 or the Dance Pad. Be sure both Move controllers are synchronized with your PS3 then go into MOVE & STEP and clear a song while in a two player game. The trophy will pop at the end of the song.

Note: Playstation Move required.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/54.jpgMOVE MASTER (S)

Get at least one record on every song in MOVE & STEP (excluding downloaded songs).

First you will need to unlock every song from playing a lot of CLUB MODE (see SONG COLLECTOR). Then in MOVE & STEP MODE, play through every song at least once on any difficulty. Then go check your RECORDS. You must clear the song, no failing.

Note: Playstation Move required.

Section 7 - Other Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/04.jpgHigh Scorer (B)

Get a score of 1,500,000 or higher.

In FREE PLAY or MOVE & STEP MODE, get a score of 1,500,000 or higher on any song and on any difficulty. This will require having a good amount of PERFECT steps and utilizing the GROOVE TRIGGER at the proper times.

Here's a video by our very own So Young getting the required points on Basic Difficulty.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x76Tt_ujO34]YouTube - DanceDanceRevolution PS3 - High Scorer Trophy on Basic Difficulty[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/23.jpgCHAIN CHAIN CHAIN (B)

Rack up 3 CHAIN ARROW BONUSES in the course of a single song.

In FREE PLAY or MOVE & STEP MODE, with any song, any difficulty and at least 3 CHAIN ARROW BONUSES, be sure to hit all the notes in each bonus section. Almost all songs on BASIC difficulty have at least 3 CHAIN ARROW BONUSES in the length of the song and this is easily earned when going for AAA COLLECTOR.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/24.jpgTRIGGER 5 (B)

Launch GROOVE TRIGGER 5 times in the course of a single song on EXPERT or higher.

In FREE PLAY or MOVE & STEP MODE, in any song on EXPERT difficulty, activate the GROOVE TRIGGER 5 times. This will require a lot of accurate steps (the GROOVE GAUGE restores more based on the rating of each step). As such you will need to perform the song with an AAA rank. This can be attained on some songs with a rating of 5 and any song with a difficulty rating of 6 or more. Keep in the mind the lower the difficulty rating the more accurate your steps will have to be.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/55.jpgFIRST EXPORT (B)

Export your first gameplay videos.

Go into "Options" and turn your video recording to on. Now in FREE PLAY, MOVE & STEP or DANCE OFF MODE you can record your session. At the results screen press (square) to save the video. Now go to VIDEO MANAGER, select the video you want to export (to your PS3 XMB) and go through the process of exporting it.

Note: Only the songs with a "Record" icon next to them can be saved and exported.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/579/25.jpgCHALLENGER (H)(B)

Unlock the CHALLENGE difficulty level on every song in FREE PLAY MODE or MOVE & STEP (excluding downloaded songs).

Not every song in the game has a CHALLENGE difficulty. In FREE PLAY or MOVE & STEP MODE play through every applicable song on EXPERT difficulty to unlock that songs CHALLENGE difficulty. The spoilers note every song with a CHALLENGE difficulty.

[spoiler=001]Bad Romance, Hey Soul Sister, I'm Yours, Love Shack, My Life Would Suck Without You, Venus, We Are Family, A Geisha's Dream (Ruffage Remix), Curry Up, DOUBLE TORNARD, dreaming can make a wish come true, ever snow, IN THE ZONE, Let's Get Away, MAGIC PARADE, ONE SIDED LOVE, Private Eye, Rescue Me, Rhythms Inside, Share The Love, The Island Song, TIME, Top The Charts, TSUGARU (APPLE MIX), Wicked Plastik, MAX 300, CRAZY<3LOVE, New York EVOLVED

Yes the song is pronounced "Double Tornado" but someone at Konami can't spell check.

Questions:

a) I know the Move is neccessary for Platinum, but what about the Dance Pad? Is it required for Platinum? I heard you can play the game on the Dual Shock 3, so it should be enough for non-move trophies, right?

Also heard there are 6 arrows on Challenge Difficulty and you can't hit the 2 diagonal ones if you use the Dual Shock Controller, can anyone confirm this? And is there any trophy related to this mode (as far as I've seen, there's none, but I can't say for sure because I don't have the game and still don't understand the modes very well).

b) Why 70+ hours? The trophies look really easy and quick.

Thanks!

P.S.: Random advice... Hidden Trophy unveiled:

ULTIMATE DANCER

Clear a song on DIFFICULT or higher with the arrows' APPEARANCE set to STEALTH.

Got this in another forum. May help the guide.

As far as I can tell, the Dance Pad is required for the Groove Triggers. I've tried multiple times to "slide" my foot from the "up button" to the Circle or X button with no luck. I'll be sure to change that unless anyone can prove otherwise.

Challenge difficulty (if it's there) isn't unlocked right away. There's Beginner > Basic > Difficult > Expert.

It's partially skill based. I'm not entirely sure on all the hidden trophies and that's just a filler until more people show up (I know this is a niche title).

-Edit-

The 1,000 Combo in Club Mode can be a difficult trophy to get. Every time your combo climbs the game throws tricks (changes) at you and can increase the difficulty. These can stack and will continue to do so until you miss a few steps. But not all of them go away, you might have a trick run out of go down one level of difficulty, but get your combo counter up and they'll keep coming back. This trophy is a very misleading bronze.

I remember using this method to beat the Supernova challenges that required weird arrow modifiers. Player 1 gets the multipliers, Player 2 goes normal, you look at Player 2's screen and that's it!

I was gonna get the game stand-alone and try to Plat it because I can easily borrow Move controller from my friends, but no one I know of has the pad and I really don't want an extra pad just for this game (already have a pad, but probably won't be compatible).

If anyone discovers a method to use groove trigger with the Dualshock controller, please post it here. Thanks!

Flick the right stick to the right to activate with the controller.

Perfect! Ok, Platinum with just the disc and PS Move confirmed.

Trophy guide in a nutshell: Go to your local bargain bin, get your DDR stand-alone used copy, drop by your PS Move owning friend, borrow two motion controllers and the camera, spend the night home playing DDR on the DualShock+PS Move and you shall have the Platinum by the morning :applause:

This is as close as I'll ever get to a PS3 Dj Max with trophies... :sigh:

Not Necessarily. You don't burn calories using the controller. Well unless my game is jacked up lol.

Damn it, forgot about the calories lol

How about... playing with the Move + Dual Shock? Might sound a little crazy, but it should count the calories, no?

That sounds ridiculous lol. Well I'm not sure. Might be possible, but i have yet to try the move portion of the game. I'm most likely going to dance for those trophies, everything else i say use dualshock lol

I'm technically one hidden trophy away from Platinum on this game. Once I obtain it, I shall provide the list to the rest of you.

Your so lucky :[ i only got the stealth, challenge mode and millionaire 100 hidden.

I want to know the rest. Also the 1000+ combo and club master are bothering me. 1000+ is almost impossible now, closest i got was 731 :/ and im not sure on how to get club master.

watch it be some trophy that makes u get 100 AAA rankings.... i hope not though otherwise I should be able to Platinum the game easily

100 AAA's would be way easier than the 1000 combo on club mode. I'd rather do 100 AA's already got like 75 or so lol. Well I can't wait till certain hidden trophies are comfirmed
