Pacific Squadron WWII begins with the United States’ entry into the Second World War on December 7th 1941. Engage Imperial Japanese Navy fighters and warships and provide air support for US troops at all the famous battles in the Pacific Theatre, from the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor to the Battle of Iwo Jima. This arcade-style flight sim features a 23 mission campaign, online co-op with up to 4 players, and 5 online multiplayer modes. Flight Mode: This game has presets for Arcade and Simulation controls. I recommend using the Simulation controls because it's a more common control scheme, similar to several other Flight Action games (HAWX, Ace Combat, & Top Gun), and because choosing the Arcade scheme forces you to fly with an external/third person view. Throttle Up/War Speed (Double-Press): Throttle Down: Yaw Left: Yaw Right: Pitch Up/Down: :lsup:/:lsdown: Roll Left/Right: :lsleft:/:lsright: Free Look: Fire Guns: Fire Secondary Weapon: Next Target / Closest Target (Hold): Next Objective Target / Closest Objective Target (Hold) Zoom: Cycle Secondary Weapon: :left:/:right: Look Back: Reflex Mode (Slow motion targeting): Look To Target: Scoreboard (Online): Pause: Glitches: Most of the glitched trophies in this game were related to playing through the campaign in online co-op. Since the servers have gone offline, forcing everyone to play solo, those affected trophies are no longer glitched. Unfortunately, other trophies are now completely unobtainable. Should the online come back then the previous information would apply. One multiplayer trophy (Pack Leader) and several campaign trophies (Bombardier, Fish in the Water, Daredevil, Fish in a Barrel, & Killing Spree / No Mercy / Relentless) have been reported to be glitched. The easiest way to avoid these glitches is by playing through the campaign solo, or by making sure you're the host. Additionally, it has been reported that mission 21, Operation Detachment may fail to end during co-op if all players do not land successfully on their first attempt. For more information see http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/damage-inc-pacific-squadron-wwii/205231-supplimental-trophy-guide-co-op-glitches-workarounds.html Step 1 - Play through the campaign on Ace Play through the campaign on Ace/Hard difficulty, either solo, in online co-op, or a combination of both. All campaign trophies can be earned by playing co-op. However, you must play through the campaign chronologically to unlock subsequent missions. If you die in co-op, you must wait for your wingmen to reach a checkpoint, or die themselves, before you can respawn. The campaign consists of 23 missions, which range from approximately 10 to 45 minutes depending on number of objectives, number of players, player skill, and planes selected. Average mission time is approximately 25 minutes. There are trophies for beating the game on "Hard," "Normal or higher," and "Easy". Beating the game on Hard will get you all three difficulty trophies: Ace, Veteran and Rookie. This game is quite easy, and even some one new to Flight Action games shouldn't have too much difficulty earning the Ace trophy. Medals and Bonus Objectives: Each mission has a bonus objective and there are medals you can earn in 9 missions. None of these are required for any mission on any difficulty. However, by completing the bonus objective you will earn an extra unlock point which can be used to upgrade planes. The Medals are simply an in-game achievement. If you would like to earn the medals for the sake of completion, see GuapoPogi's Medals Guide. The following trophies are story-related and cannot be missed: Mission 1: Wings Earned Mission 2: Day Of Infamy Mission 6: Hellcat Pilot Mission 7: Payback () Mission 12: Battle Of Midway Mission 15: Vengeance () Mission 18: A Million Men Mission 19: Assassin () Mission 19: Superbattleship Mission 20: End Of The Kido Butai Mission 23: Final Revenge () Mission 23: Rookie Mission 23: Veteran Mission 23: Ace During this step you will also unlock most, if not all of the following kill related trophies Bombardier Fish In The Water Daredevil Master Of Arms Fish In A Barrel Killing Spree No Mercy Relentless Step 2 - Co-op Specific Trophies (Online) [servers closed - Trophies not currently obtainable] Damage Inc.'s servers were hosted by GameSpy and were part of a mass shutdown on 5/31/2014. A few games were relocated to new servers; however, Damage Inc is currently not one of them. Because of how unpopular this game was, it is highly unlikely that the online will be reactivated. Should the online come back, the previous information would apply. There are three trophies that require you to play online co-op. If you beat the campaign on co-op it's possible that you'll already have these trophies: Wingman Wingleader Be My Wingman Step 3 - Versus modes (Online) [servers closed - Trophies not currently obtainable] Damage Inc.'s servers were hosted by GameSpy and were part of a mass shutdown on 5/31/2014. A few games were relocated to new servers; however, Damage Inc is currently not one of them. Because of how unpopular this game was, it is highly unlikely that the online will be reactivated. Should the online come back, the previous information would apply. The multiplayer portion of Damage Inc. is pretty empty. You may be able to find games occasionally, but you're better off boosting. Thankfully, the trophies in this game are simple and easy to boost. You just need to win 1 and 5 matches in each Versus mode (with the exception of Team Survivor), get your first multiplayer kill, then acquire 5 and 10 consecutive kills without dying. There are hardly any randoms online, the host has the ability to kick anyone that joins, and you can get all 11 trophies with just one partner. During this this step you will unlock the following Versus mode trophies: First Blood Untouchable Immortal Survivor Last Man Standing Dogfighter Alpha Dog Team Player Pack Leader Sinker Homewrecker Step 4 - Clean up There is very little if any clean up required here. Play through the campaign again on Ace (Hard) if you didn't do this in step one. If you played the entire campaign with partners, then you may need to farm kills. In my case, I didn't use rockets at all and needed to go back and earn that trophy. Follow the workaround for any trophies which may have glitched in co-op. Prestige Cannot be missed - You will get this after completing the campaign on "Ace," whether you're playing solo or co-op. See corresponding mission objectives in posts #5 and #6. This isn't too difficult at all. For the most part, getting shot down is rare. There are really only two or three parts in the campaign that you may have to retry a few times. Each objective is a checkpoint. Most checkpoints are pretty short, but there are several long ones. General Campaign Tips Upgrade aircraft. I believe you get 5 points for beating each mission and an additional point for completing each Bonus Objective. Upgrades range from 1 to 6 points. My second playthrough I used an upgraded P-47D-40 Thunderbolt for most missions. It has high stats and carries heavy bombs and a good amount of rockets. Use secondary weapons. You have an unlimited supply, they just take a few seconds to reload. Use the Throttle Down button or Reflex Mode when targeting multiple slow moving bombers or ground targets. Ignore non-objective enemies unless destroying them has strategic value, such as destroying landing craft to prevent troops from disembarking. When defending targets don't stray too far as attacks often come from multiple directions. If an enemy has already completed an attack run on their target, let them go and focus on incoming enemies first. If you're low on health and have recently reached a checkpoint you can reload the checkpoint and your health will be raised to at least 50%. Play with a partner. The amount of enemies and difficulty remains the same whether you're playing solo or with multiple partners. When you start this mission you'll notice a new torpedo HUD with meters to the left and at the bottom of your targeting reticle. The vertical meter to the left of the reticle indicates height, while the horizontal meter underneath the reticule indicates speed. At the beginning of this mission, you'll go through a mini-tutorial on dive bombing. The key here is steep and fast. When you start this level, you'll notice a new bombing HUD with two meters surrounding your targeting reticle. The meter on the left is for your speed, while the one on the right represents the angle. What you want to do is gain a lot of altitude so that you're flying high above your target. As you approach your target, pitch forward so that you're descending at a steep angle. Watch your speed and angle meters, once they light up green, line up the bombing reticle with your target and drop your bombs with . Make sure that you have enough altitude to pull out of the dive. Large ships will take multiple bombing runs. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/9C9.jpgMaster of Arms Destroy an enemy plane with rockets (Singleplayer or Co-Op). You can get this trophy in any fighter mission after reaching mission 12. The best way to get this is by attacking head-on or from behind, at close range. Vapor_N4
Versus Trophies All trophies can be boosted with just one partner. When creating a match choose the lowest settings possible for Lives, Rounds, Score Limit, Map Size, Time Limit, and Respawn Time, unless you're boosting Untouchable and Immortal http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/8A5.jpgFirst Blood Destroy an enemy in any match in Multiplayer mode. [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] You'll unlock this trophy halfway to Immortal http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/DFC.jpgImmortal Destroy 10 enemies without dying in a single match in Multiplayer mode. [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] Get 10 consecutive kills without dying in a single match in any Versus mode. This is the most difficult trophy to obtain without boosting. I recommend boosting this while going for one of your Dogfight or Team Dogfight wins. Make sure you set the time limit long enough to get all 10 kills. You can get all 10 pretty easily in 10 minutes, but use whatever settings you need. Optimal Boost Settings - Score limit: Ten - Scoring System: Kills/Suicides - Time Limit: 10 Minutes - Rounds: One - Size: Small - Respawn time: 5 seconds - Auto Balance: No Legit Immortal Tips - Attempt in Team Dogfight or Scratch One Flattop - Engage enemies that are preoccupied with attacking your teammates or aircraft carrier - Approach enemies from behind - Change directions frequently - Watch your back (Use your Free Look: & Look Back: buttons) - Use rockets if you end up going head to head with another player http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/743.jpgSurvivor Win an Elimination match in Multiplayer mode. [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] See Last Man Standing http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/080.jpgLast Man Standing Win 5 Elimination matches in Multiplayer mode. [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] In-game, these are called Survivor matches. This is a free-for-all match in which the last remaining player wins. To boost these, set "Lives" to "One" and have the loser crash into the ground. Optimal Boost Settings - Lives: One - Time: Limit 2 minutes - Rounds: One - Size: Small - Respawn Time: 5 seconds Legit Last Man Standing Tips - Try to avoid the action until most players have been eliminated - Engage enemies that are preoccupied with attacking other players - Approach enemies from behind - Change directions frequently - Use your Free Look: & Look Back: buttons - Use rockets if you end up going head to head with another player http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/71F.jpgDogfighter Win a Dogfight match in Multiplayer mode. [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] See Alpha Dog http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/B8F.jpgAlpha Dog Win 5 Dogfight matches in Multiplayer mode. [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] This is the equivalent of free-for-all - the player with the highest overall score wins. If boosting, the winning player can just shoot down the other pilot once and let time run out. Alternatively, the losing pilot can crash once and let time out. Whichever way you decide to boost this, if you're supposed to win, make sure you don't go idle and fly out of bounds as it will reduce your score. Optimal Boost Settings - Score limit: Five - Scoring System: Kills/Suicides - Time Limit: 2 Minutes - Rounds: One - Size: Small - Respawn time: 5 seconds Legit Dogfight Tips - Engage enemies that are preoccupied with attacking other players - Steal kills from players by finishing off targets they've already damaged - Approach enemies from behind - Change directions frequently - Use your Free Look: and Look Back: buttons - Use rockets if you end up going head to head with another player http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/938.jpgTeam Player Win a Team Dogfight match in Multiplayer mode. [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] See Pack Leader http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/426.jpgPack Leader Win 5 Team Dogfight matches in Multiplayer mode. [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] * Multiple people have reported that even after winning 5 matches this trophy didn't unlock. Winning as the host of the match will negate the problem. The other 5 win trophies don't appear to suffer from the same problem, however, if you would rather host those matches as well feel free to do so. This mode is your basic Team Deathmatch and the team with the highest score wins. Boost this the same as you would a free-for-all Dogfight. If boosting, the winning player can just shoot down the other pilot once and let time run out. Alternatively, the losing pilot can crash once and also allow the time out. Which ever way you decide to boost this, if you're supposed to win, make sure you don't go idle and fly out of bounds as it will reduce your score. Optimal Boost Settings - Score limit: Five - Scoring System: Kills/Suicides - Time Limit: 2 Minutes - Rounds: One - Size: Small - Respawn time: 5 seconds - Auto Balance: No Legit Team Dogfight Tips - Protect your teammates, shoot down enemies targeting them - Approach enemies from behind - Change directions frequently - Use your Free Look: and Look Back: buttons - Use rockets if you end up going head to head with another player http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/6A2.jpgSinker Win a Scratch One Flattop match in Multiplayer mode [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] See Homewrecker http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/36A.jpgHomewrecker Win 5 Scratch One Flattop matches in Multiplayer mode. [servers closed - Trophy not currently obtainable] To win a Scratch One Flattop match, your team has to inflict the most damage to the enemy aircraft carrier. If you're boosting, you can just attack the carrier once and allow the time to run out. However, to maximize efficiency both players should choose a bomber with a heavy payload such as the G4M2 Betty or B-25H Mitchell as each of these planes have multiple 500lb bombs at their disposal. When the game starts both people fly towards the same carrier and drop all their bombs. If partner A is going to win, both he and partner B attack the same carrier on partner B's side. Optimal Boost Settings - Time Limit: 2 Minutes - Rounds: One - Respawn Time: 5 Seconds - Auto Balance: No Legit Scratch One Flattop Tips - Organize your team depending on how many players your have. - Have a combination of bombers, supporters, and defenders. - Know your role and work as a team. - Bombers: fly low to avoid detection. Ascend as you approach the enemy aircraft carrier. - Fighters: Escort bombers OR defend your own carrier. JazzHandsRaptor
You list Vengence as mssion 12 in you're story related section yet in you're overview of mission objectives you say you fight him in mission 15. Quick fix if this guide hasn't been forgotten.

Quick fix if this guide hasn't been forgotten. Thanks. I believe it's 15. That's what I have in my notes. Guide is not forgotten, just don't have access to the game right now to double check a few things. I'll try to finish this up anyway.

x9zachattack5x
This game keeps glitching everytime after I get to the fighters at the end of "battle of coral sea, mission 9" I keep killing them all and after that no new mission objective...wtf? I've done this mission like 5 times... Edit: well I found the lone zero flying around. no yellow or red marker above his head...and when I aim at him no red crosshairs. I've literally been flying around shooting him with no damage for 10 minutes. Am I the only one to experience this particular glitch?? http://www.ps3trophies.com/card/4/x9zachattack5x.png Edited October 24, 2013 by x9zachattack5x

GuapoPogi
I boosted a friend 16 trophies for this game last night just the 2 of us. The only online trophy we did not get was Wing Leader and that was simply because we didn't bother to try for it. I figure I will finish dragging him thought the entire co-op campaign on Ace as host then we can replay the first mission with him as the host for him to get that trophy. I am hoping to have him his Plat tonight or tomorrow night. It will probably be his fastest Plat since he did Hanna Montana. GuapoPogi

bcks007
http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/1ED.jpgBombardier Sucessfully bomb a target in Campaign mode (Singleplayer or Co-Op). This trophy has been reported to glitch during co-op. For more information see http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/damage-inc-pacific-squadron-wwii/205231-supplimental-trophy-guide-co-op-glitches-workarounds.html If you're playing through the campaign normally, your first chance to unlock this trophy is during mission 7, Attack on Taroa. You'll notice a new bombing reticle underneath your plane. Fly towards a target; when the target is within the bombing reticle, drop your bombs with . Once your target is destroyed the trophy will unlock. Larger targets will require multiple bombing runs. You can actually earn this trophy much earlier. On the mission Wake Patrol(level 3), if you try and destroy the 2 PT Boats to earn the medal Marine Corps Medal, you can also earn the Bombardier trophy. Once you earn the plane A6M5C Zero, you spend 2 upgrade points on it. That ups it stats, and gives it 1, 500lb bomb. I don't remember what mission gives you access to this plane, but since I hadn't completed level 4 yet, its either by beating level 1 or level 2, or level 3. I might play on a alt and narrow it down for the faq. Maybe you can add my trophy tip to the faq, for people who like to complete trophies as early as possible. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1688/832.jpgBattle of Midway Complete the Battle of Midway mission in Campaign mode (Singleplayer or Co-Op). Cannot be missed - You will get this after completing campaign mission 9, Battle of Midway, whether you're playing solo or co-op. See corresponding mission objectives in post #5. Mission 12 is the Battle of Midway, and after beating it, that is where it pops. Edited June 5, 2014 by bcks007
