EdEN
ROAD MAP Overview: -Estimated trophy difficulty: 8/10 (personal opinion) -Offline: 19 (2 , 17 ) -Online: 0 -Approximate amount of time to 100%: 15-30 hours – current estimate (highly depends on skill and luck) -Minimum number of playthroughs needed: N/A, you can select all Stages and Challenges once unlocked -Missable trophies: None -Glitched trophies: None -Cheats: No cheats -Number of controllers needed for 100%: 7 Introduction: Cubixx HD is a fast paced action puzzle game which sends high scoring, combo chasing game play to the third dimension! It was first released as a minis and, since the ideas presented in it where solid enough, Laughing Jackal decided to create a PSN version with improvements to the main game, extra game modes and trophies. WALKTROUGH Before starting, watch this video that Laughing Jackal was kind enough to put together for us so you can save a LOT of time by following their advice: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olsotjsV5lI]'Cubixx-HD' Top-Tips - YouTube[/ame] Also, here's a list of all the power-ups available in the game along with the effects they provide: GREEN POWER UPS Freeze: Stops enemies in their tracks for 5 seconds - 1000 points Speed Up: Boosts a players speed for 10 seconds - 1000 points Shield: Protects the players from enemies for 10 seconds - 1000 points Extra Life: Awards and extra life in Arcade Mode - 1000 points Kill: Awards a kill in Death Match</blockquote> RED POWER UPS Fast Forward: Speeds up enemies for 10 seconds - 15000 points Slow Down: Slows the player down for 10 seconds - 1000 points Asteroid Attack: Fires some asterios at the Cube - 15000 points Combo Breaker: Removes 1 level of a players combo - 15000 points Reversi: Reverses the players control for 10 seconds - 15000 points Sacrifice: Kills the Player - 1 point BLUE POWER UPS Points: Awards you with 20000 points Super Points: Awards you with 40000 points Combo Boost: Increases your combo by 1 and awards you with 1000 points Step 1: Complete Arcade Mode All extra modes and levels are locked from the start until you finish Arcade Mode. Doing so will get you n00B SAuCe and Do Robots have feelings? and maybe Super Combo. If you manage to complete it start to finish in a single run then you'll also unlock Mad Skillz. If that's the case, then skip to Step 3. Step 2: Complete Arcade Mode in a Single Run Oh what a great ride this will be! Extra lives (both power ups and those obtained from each 200,000 points scored) are your best friend so start stocking up on them since level 1. Shouldn't take you more than 1 and a half hours. Step 3: Complete Arcade Mode in Co-op Easier to do with an actual human player as using two controllers at the same time will break your mind. Step 4: Complete all Challenges With a Platinum Award Here's where you'll spend most of your time since Challenges do their name justice and will put you to the test. Don't worry about dying A LOT while going for the platinum challenges since that will just bring you closer to Perseverance . Step 5: Clean Up You'll aim for any trophies missing from your collection. The "hardest" one will probably be Mr. Popular since you need 7 controllers for it as reassigning controllers doesn't work here. EdEN
TROPHY GUIDE http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/01.jpg n00B SAuCe Complete your first level in Arcade mode Can't be missed. You'll get it as soon as you finish the first level in arcade mode. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/02.jpg Super Combo Achieve a combo over 6 Says get a combo over 6... which means you need a combo of 7. Makes sense, right? Except that the in-game tutorial specifically tells you that the max combo is 6. Confused? You should be! To get this you need to get a combo of 6 and, while you're at that magic number, grab a Blue Power Combo Boost that increases your Combo by 1 (looks like a chain) and Ding! Combo 7! http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/03.jpg Ascended Unity Complete Co-Op Arcade mode Just need another controller to start Arcade Mode in Co-op. Could be done with MORE controllers but.. why make it harder and more hectic than it already is? You can put player 2 in a "nest" (see video in roadmap) to keep him safe from most hazards and enemies and since you're invincible right at the start of each level it you can take that time to prepare things thus this trophy CAN be done by yourself but will take you longer. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/04.jpg True Master Get every feat in a single level Here's a list of all the feats available in the game. As the trophy says, you must get them all in a single level in order for the trophy to unlock. Divide and conquer: Clear 50% or more of a single side of the cube in one single line. Killer: Kill 5 enemies (mini cubixx and line chasers are the only ones you can kill) Big face: Clear 80% or more of a single side of the cube (DOES NOT have to be done in a single line) Mega line: Make a single huge line (over 1,000 long) Hoarding: You get it after grabing a 5th power up (good or bad) on a single level. Speed machine: Quickly finish a level. Invincible: Finish a level without loosing a single life. Combos: Get 5 Combo 3 (start a line and then change to 2 different sides of the cube and complete the line for the combo to register. Repeat 4 more times) Master: You get it for doing all the other feats. Trophy unlocks right after this feat registers. Thanks to lade73 for helping test this out and coming up with the Combos feat! http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/05.jpg The Whopper Score over 1,000,000 points from a single line Can be done as early as in level 1. What you need to do is start a line by pressing , or and not letting go so you can change to all sides of the cube and stack up the combo all the way up to combo 6. Once you got that you just need to snake over and over AWAY from the Cubixx (as to not risk them touching your line and killing you which will require you to restart the level as you just lost your combo AND your long line) until you've got a line that is 9,000 long or more. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/06.jpg Mosaic Complete a level by cutting away 250 lines or more Can be done on level 1. Just start cutting away a tiny piece of the cube (2x2 or 3x3 as to not risk touching your own line) and you've got three lines right there. Repeat on and on and on and on until the trophy unlocks. Cutting away small parts is the way to go since doing bigger ones would put you at the risk of completing the level BEFORE getting the trophy. Should you THINK you did it and it didn't unlock and you complete the level in frustation... remember that the end of level recap screen tells you EXACTLY how many lines you used and this will help you see how you must be a bit more patient the second time around. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/07.jpg Top Gun Kill 101 or more enemies in a single level 101, huh? Well, line chasers re-spawn quickly so a high % level where you take baby steps is where you can jut farm them over and over (while nesting) until the trophy unlocks. I got it on level 29. Just be careful and don't ever collect the Red Fast Forward Power Up or you'll be dead in an instant. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/08.jpg Betrayal! Kill 2 or more friends in Co-Op Start a Co-op game with 2 more controllers and place them in a spot you can cut around so they both go bye bye at the same time and you get your bronze trophy without a problem. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/09.jpg 88 Miles-An-Hour Complete a level in less than 8.88 seconds This is a tricky one. From the description you'd think you have to accomplish this in one of the 50 levels available in Arcade Mode but you'd be wrong. Where you can do this is on the challenges, especially on Speed Freak 1 while going for the platinum award. It takes less than 9 seconds to obtain! http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/10.jpg Mr. Popular Complete a 7-player Deathmatch game No way around it. You need SEVEN controllers for this to work as there's no online play. Start a Death Match with seven controllers and play until the end. Trophy unlocked! The good news is that Dualshock 3 and Move Controllers all count... as does the PS3 Bluray Remote! But wait, there's more! GH guitars, DJ Hero turntables and even the Rock Band keyboard all work to activate a full Deathmatch. Found 7 controllers already? http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/11.jpg Light Speed Beat level 36 in under 40 seconds. (Single player Arcade mode only) Level 36 has a 65% requirement. There's really no special strategy for this level since by the time you're at this spot you'll definitely know what you're doing. A bit of luck is involved since I was presented with two Freeze Power Ups that made it very, very easy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/12.jpg Fully Bronzed Complete all Challenge levels to at least Bronze standard You'll get this while working towards getting G.O.A.T. Bronze requirements are easy enough in case you want to get this trophy out of the way before trying to get all Platinum. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/14.jpg Risky Business Pick up 500 negative (red) Powers Red Power Ups are great for building up your score but make the levels harder. At least you'll increase your chances of going up on the leaderboards and get a trophy out of it! Level 27 has the most Red Power Ups (they appear constantly on all sides of the Cube) so use it to farm out the trophy if you want to obtain it quickly. Avoid the asteroids that spawn from the red power up and you'll be fine. Edited May 22, 2020 by Terminator Fixed some spacing errors.
EdEN
http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/16.jpg G.O.A.T Complete all Challenge levels to Platinum standard Here's where you'll spend most of your time in Cubixx HD. Challenges are single levels where you only have one life to complete the specific requirement for each level and there are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum requirements to meet to make things even more interesting. Platinum requirements are HIDDEN until AFTER you obtain them which can be a bit of a hassle since not knowing what the threshold is can make you fall short of it or really overshoot. Lucky for you, here's a list with the platinum requirements for each Challenge: Rehab 1: Complete the level by only using a single line start to finish. Size Matters 1: Create 6 lines over 1000 before finishing the level. Gluttony 1: Clear 4 areas worth 140 before finishing the level. Hurry Up 1: Finish the level in under 18 seconds. Cubixx Killer 1: Kill all Mini Cubixx in under 40 seconds. Land Rush 1: Platinum is to make 3 faces where you've removed over 92% of the surface. Chaser Buster 1: Kill 60 Line Chasers. The MEGA Line 1: Complete a 5,500 length line. Surfing 1: Surf over 900. Gotta Kill 'Em All 1: Kill all 10 Line Chasers in under 30 seconds. Cling On 1: Spend over 2 minutes and 30 seconds caught by Homers before finishing the level. Combo'd 1: Get 5 Combos of 6 Bright Spark: Score over 350,000 before finishing the level. Lasrever 1: Get a high score of over 250,000 before finishing the level. Survival 1: Survive for 5 minutes and finish the level. Rehab 2: Complete the level by only using a single line start to finish. Speed Freak 1: Complete the level in under 9 seconds Size Matters 2: Complete 6 lines over 900. Gluttony 2: Carve out 4 areas worth 100+. Asteroid Shower 1: Score over 800,000 and finish the level. Pacifist 1: Complete the level in under 40 seconds without killing any Mini Cubixx. Hurry Up 2: Complete the level in under 40 seconds. Chaser Buster 2: Kill 90 chasers. Gotta Kill 'Em All 2: Kill all chasers in under 40 seconds. Black Holer: Score over 300,000 and complete the level. Power Hungry 1: Collect 20 power-ups. Combo'd 2: 5 Combos of 6 before finishing the level. Land Rush 2: Cut away 3 faces over 92%. Cubixx Killer 2:Kill all Mini Cubixx in under 1 minute. Power Hungry 2: Collect 30 powerups. Speed Freak 2: Complete the level in under 18 seconds. Survival 2: Survive over 2 and a half minutes and complete the level. Lasrever 2: Complete the level in under 35 seconds with reversed controls. Pacifist 2: Complete the level in under 1 minute and 23 seconds without killing any Mini Cubixx (same as Pac3). Speed Junkie 1: Score over 300,000 and complete the level. Cling on 2: Spend over 3 minutes and 30 seconds caught by Homers and complete the level. Surfing 2: Surf over 1,400. The MEGA Line 2: Complete a 5,500 length line. Rehab 3: As usual, complete the level in a single line. Gotta Kill 'Em All 3: Kill all chasers in under 52 seconds. Hurry Up 3: Complete the level in under 28 seconds. Power Hungry 3: Collect 30 power ups. Kaerf Deeps: Finish the level in under 17 seconds with reversed controls and maxed out speed. Speed Junkie 2: Score over 600,000. Cubixx Killer 3: Kill all Mini Cubixx in under 50 seconds. Speed Freak 3: Complete the level in 20. Pacifist 3: Complete the level in under 1 minute and 23 seconds without killing a single Mini Cubixx. Asteroid Shower 2: Score over 800,000 and complete the level. Survival 3: Survive over 2 and a half minutes and complete the level. Finale: Last one! Complete the level while achieving the following 9 feats: 1-Biggest Area: 140+ 2-Big Face Cut: 90% 3-Longest Line: 1000+ 4-Score: 300,000+ 5-Surfed: 15+ 6-6X Combo: 1 7-Enemy Kills: 15+ 8-Powers Collected: 10+ 9-Time: Under 1:30 Thanks to ER777 for helping with part of the platinum award requirements! http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/17.jpg Mammoth Score Score 5,000,000 points or more on a single level Take to level 27 and collect as many Red Power Ups as you can to drive up your score. Should take you about 20 minutes AND it helps with obtaining Risky Business. Asteroids are slow in this level so you can just move out of the way easily. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/18.jpg Mad Skillz Complete Arcade mode in a single run You must start on state one in Arcade Mode and not get a game over at all. Once you finish level 50 the trophy will unlock. Take things slowly and chip away at each level to minimize he risk of loosing a life and you'll get there eventually. Level 27 is a great mid-point to stock up on lives again by following the instructions for Risky Business. Should take you about 2 hours if you take your time and stay on the safe side. Nesting is your friend! http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/19.jpg Do Robots have feelings? Complete Arcade Mode Just as it says, complete Arcade Mode. No problem with getting a game over as you can just continue from the last unlocked stage. You'll get it after completing level 50. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/13.jpg Perseverance Die 500 times trying the Challenges Don't worry about it as it will come naturally from trying to obtain all Platinum Awards in the challenge levels. If you REALLY want to get it A.S.A.P. then you can just die over and over on the first challenge but it WILL take you A LOT of time this way and said time would be better spent going for G.O.A.T. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1163/15.jpg Line Me to the Moon Draw lines amounting to the distance from Earth to the Moon The distance from the Earth to the Moon is 356,400 km to 406,700 km (about 221,456 to 252,711 mi) which is a big enough number to scare you away from this trophy... but there's nothing to fear. Going for Do Robots have feelings?, Mad Skillz and G.O.A.T will allow you to also get this trophy. If for some reason you managed to get Do Robots have feelings? and Mad Skillz in a single run AND get G.O.A.T without Line Me to the Moon then just replay Arcade Mode one more time to get the required total. Fiffyfu
Nice guide EdEN, it's helped a lot already. For the Whooper trophy I tried with a line of just over 8,000 with x6 and only got 900,000 score. Did it again with a line of 12,000 and got just short of 1.6mil. So it might be safer going for about 9-10,000.
EdEN
Glad I can help! Guide is finished in my pen and paper notes so I'll type it tomorrow. The Whopper unlocked for me with a line at 8,055 and a combo 6 that gave me just a bit over 1 million but to play it safe I'll move it to 9,000 in case it glitched for me in a good way. Can't edit right now since I'm on my phone but I'll get it all done tomorrow. Adding the platinum award requirements for the Challenges so you know what to aim for. Luckily I had more than seven of them lying around and 2 GHWT dongles with the 2 USB slots lol I was also a little confused on the Betrayal! trophy. EdEN
Huh, nice tip! I've got two Duashock 3, a wired one and the PS3 Bluray Remote. I'm getting a move bundle next week and an extra move controller so that's 6. Guess a cheap $10 wired (and used) PS3 controller gets me the last trophy! I think the length of the line needed is going to vary inversely with the area. Both length and area cleared are components of the line score*. So you got it with a shorter line than what some other people needed because you took out more area while making the line. I just got the Whopper trophy on level 1 with a single line that cleared the level. It was a combo 6 obviously, but the length was only 2925. The ending stats said biggest area cleared was 606 which I assume means 60.6% of the level area. *You can test this pretty easily. Make one line with a length of around 100 with only one turn that takes out a corner of the square. Then make another one of about the same length but that snakes back and forth several times as to not clear much area. You'll see that the one which clears more area will have a much higher point value.
ER777
I just finished up the GOAT trophy today. That was truly a challenge. Below are the rest of the platinum level requirements that you didn't already have confirmed. Many of your predictions were right on the money. Survival 1: Survive for 5 minutes and finish the level. Size Matters 2: Complete 6 lines over 900. Power Hungry 1: Collect 20 powers. Land Rush 2: Cut away 3 faces over 92%. Cubixx Killer 2: Kill all Mini Cubixx in under 1 minute. Power Hungry 2: Collect 30 powers. Gotta Kill 'Em All 3: Kill all chasers in under 52 seconds. Hurry Up 3: Complete the level in under 28 seconds. Power Hungry 3: Collect 30 powers. Asteroid Shower 2: Score over 800,000 and complete the level. Survival 3: Survive over 2 and a half minutes and complete the level. Finale: Complete the level while achieving the following 9 goals (similar to True Master but a little different). Your session stats show info for just the goals obtained so I noted the minimum requirements that I met each of the goals with: 1-Biggest Area: 140+ (lowest I registered was 144 so I assume 140 is the cutoff) 2-Big Face Cut: 90% 3-Longest Line: 1000+ (lowest I registered was 1125 so I assume 1000 is the cutoff) 4-Score: 300,000+ (pretty positive about that, lowest I had was 304k, but 278k was no good) 5-Surfed: 15+ (lowest I registered was 18 so I'm guessing 15 but it could be less. Basically just surf a tiny bit) 6-6X Combo: 1 7-Enemy Kills: 15+ 8-Powers Collected: 10+ 9-Time: Under 1:30 (lowest I registered was 1:22 so I'm assuming 1:30 is the cutoff but it could be 1:23 at the minimum)

ER777
Hey, don't mention it. I got confirmation from elrimen (who also completed all of the challenges) on all of the stats for the Finale challenge except Surfing. He said that the minimum is 1 so any surfing whatsoever gets it. He said that he tested these pretty precisely too. We also kind of put together a list of the levels you need to watch out for when going for Mad Skillz. Try to stock up on lives before 37,39,41,44, and of course 50. LoAlexandria
got a prob w/ whopper when i was going for it. i was whatching the "line counter" which had reached 9400+ i was at like 1-2k points b4 i startet the line (did about 10 lines b4 i started) then i started, went onto all 6 sides, got x6 multiplier and as i said 9400+ length after i was don i had 1.07mil points - but no trophy - even if i take of 10k for the beginning, i still got 1,06mil in points BUT in the end on screen it sais i had 19 lines oO , i had like 10 b4 i started the long one, so i was at 8 min -12 max in lines. might this be the prob for not unlocking whopper trophy? plz help Edit: nevermind, worked w/ 1.4mil points tho Edit2: "Speed machine: Quickly finish a level." how much time i got to still get this one? any1 knows? i know: ~1"35 will get me Speed machine, ~1"55 won't maybe im off like 1-2s for starting and pausing tho, but still i think it should be 1"40, 1"45 or 1"50 Edit3: Master: You get it for doing all the other feats. Trophy unlocks right after this feat registers. <- This DOES NOT! unlock the trophy, speedy feat is not included here, so u need master + fast run Edit4: can confirm that master feat will def. not unlock the trophy. still i actually dont know what it is for. but its not for getting ALL other feats though. just got true master trophy, let me know if ur interested in a vid. was recording my run - just rendering to put on yt. Edit5: great guide! This is helping really good for every trophy and esp all the challenges! hope to get 190% soon Edited January 4, 2012 by LoAlexandria
