Introduction:

Cross Edge is a turn-based grid battle RPG developed by Gust and contains characters from 5 different gaming companies. Battles are somewhat random but a color-coded orb on the screen shows when you're about to be attacked so you'll have time to prepare. Health and status is regenerated automatically after battle so the focus is more on fighting and less on healing. Characters can combo for large damage amounts and several of the trophies deal with these battle mechanics. This Roadmap will walk you through the process of earning all trophies in the game in a single playthrough.

Walkthrough:

Missable Trophies

The Stalker, The Patron, The Dood and The Hikikomori are all missable.

The Stalker and The Patron are missable since you must make certain chocies in order to make certain characters join your party during the game. The character art only opens when that person joins your party, and you can't unlock costume art for characters you don't have. In order to keep yourself from missing them, follow the True Ending walkthrough provided below.

The Dood requires following a specific set of requirements which aren't mentioned anywhere in the game or booklet. For this, users from different sites have come up with checklists and even put it all into a chronological order with descriptions. I would like to point out that you may be able to do some of the events in a different order as I have, but make sure to read ahead a few spots every time to make sure not to progress too far into the story and miss an event you cannot go back to.

The Hikikomori is the final trophy you will unlock before your platinum. Whereas unlocking the costumes is just a simple task of releasing more and more souls, every title has a different requirement, and they are very wide-ranging. Many mirror requirements for other trophies, like finding all item types and dealing 1 million damage in a combo. Others require owning a certain number of an item, certain numbers of a group of enemies to be killed, or a number of syntheses or upgrades to be completed. The requirements for each title are viewable just by selecting it on the titles screen, so it's not hard to follow those directions along with the directions for the trophies in this guide.

Step 1: Setup

First, you can select any difficulty. Many have speculated otherwise since the last part of the last world (5-3) is unattainable on anything other than hard, but in reality, there are no needed souls, titles, or items of any kind that are specific to that area, so any difficulty can be selected for your Platinum run.

Second, always have some form (printed list, laptop, whatever) of the True Ending walkthrough available to you while playing. Even though some of the requirements are fluid (mainly the Hot Spring, Ayatane and Alchemy events), some are required at certain times and, once missed, cannot be redone. This will make it impossible to get the true ending on the remainder of that playthrough, so be very careful to not progress too far and miss something. Make it a habit to know what the next 2 to 4 steps in the list are so you know when to stop and read through again. Making many saves is also a safe practice so you can go back if you accidentally play too far. The list is in the description for the The Dood.

Step 2: Playthrough

Make sure you follow the True End guide thoroughly. Other than that, just make sure not to sell off anything. At no point will you really need money, so since there are a few once-only items, don't sell anything. Once you get/make an item/weapon/whatever, it will be registered in the item encyclopedia, and that's all you need for it to count towards the trophies. Many, many items are only attainable through alchemy, so you'll spend a lot of time there after you complete the game. Many of the titles dealing with damage, collecting, hunting, and others aren't anything you'll need to do before finishing the game, so you can just run through the story if you want as long as you follow the true ending Guide.

Step 3: Postgame

After beating the game, you'll get very used to the alchemy menu and backing out to make saves. Also, you'll make runs back to older areas to hunt monsters for titles if you didn't do this during the game. Whether you try to do everything before the final boss or not, you'll log many, many hours alchemizing and grinding, and the only 'shortcut' is to play on hard. On hard, you get a final area (5-3) that you won't get on the other difficulties where bosses drop many hard-to-make items. That choice is up to you but playing on hard means a lot more grinding, so it may not actually be quicker. Costumes are all unlocked by releasing souls and you're allowed to run around in the endgame, so don't worry about missing any of those although searching for them each time you level your search up will unlock more costumes quicker, a worthwhile benefit.

That's it. The biggest thing is following the True Ending guide, as the other missable achievements will fall in line if you follow everything. This game will take a very long time but it's very enjoyable and grows more fun as you unlock more characters and skills for battle.

Trophy Guide

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/1.jpg The Entitled (B)

(Don't forget to check title conditions.)

This trophy is earned once you unlock your first title. Go to a safe area and select 'Database' followed by 'Titles.' Several titles throughout should be visible from the beginning. Selecting it will show the requirement(s). Once you've met the requirement(s), you must come back here, select it again, and unlock it, gaining various bonuses. The first two you unlock will probably be the titles with requirements matching the next two bronze trophies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/1.jpg The Bully (B)

Defeat 100 enemy units.

See The God of Death.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The God of Death (S)

Defeat 3,000 enemy units.

A unit refers to an individual enemy, not the group. Any defeated enemy counts; this may not apply to enemies defeated in a battle you subsequently escape from. The trophy will unlock at the end of the battle.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/1.jpg The Newbie (B)

Survive 35 battles.

See The Highlander.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The Highlander (S)

Survive 900 battles.

Self explanatory. Battles escaped from are likely not counted.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/1.jpg The Badass (B)

Exceed 10,000 points of total damage.

See The World Champ.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The World Champ (S)

Exceed 1,000,000 points of total damage!

This must be in the same combo. Using various combos (where multiple characters perform specific attacks in order) and using area-effect attacks increase the damage counter much faster, as it tallies total damage, not just the damage inflicted on the target. Here's a video of a player going over 1.8 million just to show that it's not that hard with leveled characters.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kcdcxl70PnA]YouTube - cross edge 1.8 million damage 351 hit combo[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/1.jpg The Juggler (B)

Exceed a 50-hit combo.

See The Aggressor.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The Aggressor (S)

Exceed a 400-hit combo.

Hits are counted towards a combo when they are added on before the Action Count reaches zero. Switch between characters using :r1: and :l1: during the other's attacks to speed up your actions. I purposefully stopped a combo at 50 and earned the bronze trophy, so it is misworded. The trophies unlock at the battle result screen.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The Skywalker (S)

Reach 300 AGI.

See The Gambler.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The Meat Shield (S)

Reach 300 VIT.

See The Gambler.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The Juicer (S)

Reach 300 STR.

Reach 300 INT.

See The Gambler.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The Gambler (S)

Reach 300 LCK.

Self explanatory, but note that equipment effects don't count for this. When your characters level up, you'll be granted extra points to level any of 5 attributes - Agility, Vitality, Strength, Intelligence, and Luck. These will level on their own automatically in addition to the extra points you assign. You may save points from level to level. PP can be used to raise these stats as well. While in the menu, go to 'Status' and hit triangle to bring up the same level-up screen where you can upgrade these stats on your party members. PP appears to be rewarded for story-related and sidequest battles.

A quick way to get all 5 trophies at nearly the same time is to save up your PP; When you've got enough to make one of your characters hit 300, save first and then do it. Load your save, do it again on another if they're close enough. That way, you don't actually need to build everyone up.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The Stalker (S)

Unlock all character profiles.

MISSABLE

For this, use the % on the upper-right screen. A character profile automatically unlocks when a character joins your party. They are accessible from the pause menu. You will not automatically unlock all of them just by playing through the game; at several points throughout, you will have certain requirement you must meet, and they're never spelled out for you. However, if you follow the walkthrough for the The Dood trophy, you'll get all of the characters in the game to join the party. The trophy won't pop up until you actually go to view the profiles and the 100% indicator is displayed on the screen.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/2.jpg The Patron (S)

Unlock all gallery art.

MISSABLE

For this, use the % on the upper-right screen. Gallery art is unlocked by unlocking costumes of all the female characters in the game. Simply unlocking the costume will cause the art to show. Costumes are unlocked periodically at certain increments of released souls. This is missable, however. Check the True Ending walkthrough and look at the note after #27. There is an event you must trigger before another to get the final members to join your party, so make sure to follow the guide for this trophy as well.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/3.jpg The Gun Runner (G)

Collect every type of weapon.

See The Packrat.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/3.jpg The Battle Ready (G)

Collect every type of armor.

See The Packrat.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/3.jpg The Fashionista (G)

Collect every type of accessory.

See The Packrat.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/3.jpg The Packrat (G)

Collect every type of item.

So far, no one has come forward with proof that you can mess this up. However, I would advise against selling anything until you're in the endgame, alchemizing the higher-end items and familiar with what you need and don't need. You don't need money much in this game, so I'll stress again, don't sell. Most things can be used for alchemy in creating better items and most item you make will automatically become purchasable in the shop, so this shortens things. You do not have to own everything at once; once an item is registered in your encyclopedia (pause menu), it's counted. Make frequent Synth Recipe purchases. When selecting an item, the requirements to make it are displayed; hitting :l1: or :r1: will rotate through more menus for the item, one of which displays what it turns into when fully upgraded. These achievements will seem to take the bulk of your platinum hunt time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/3.jpg The Grave Robber (G)

Find 150 hidden items using Search.

You will get the ability to search very early in the game and it's impossible to progress without using it. Periodically, at certain story events after collecting so many souls, your seach level will increase, allowing you to find souls that previously would not reveal for you.

Refer to this post for maps for almost all souls in the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/3.jpg The Dood (G)

Earn the true ending.

MISSABLE

The requirements for the true ending are not found anywhere in the game or booklet, but refer to this post for a walkthrough of events to watch for and choices to make. Follow it to the letter to ensure you do not miss this achievement: you will have to restart the whole game if you miss a critical even on this list.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/3.jpg The Hikikomori (G)

Spend far too much time unlocking dozens of titles.

MISSABLE

This achievement is for unlocking every one of them, all 171. Selecting them when they start to become unlocked reveals their requirements, and they're hardly confusing. A full list would be wasteful here. You must be following the true end path to uncover several of them, so this is another reason to follow that list closely.

True Ending List from Alan Quirino:

[spoiler=trueendinglist]1. Hot Spring Event 1

-> After you recruit Felicia in 2-1, head south and then east from the

first save point. Search at the edge of the land for the "Gasping Fish

Beneat the Ice" event.

2. Marie's Alchemy Event 1

-> From the 2nd Save Point in 3-1, head east into the forest there and

search for the "Comedic Tragedy of 'F'". It's sometimes possible to get

Shurelia to join you before watching this event, so if you have her

but haven't seen this one, better get to it.

3. Ayatane's Betrayal Event 1

-> From the 2nd Save Point in 3-1, go past the forest to the south and

search between the two towns down here for the "Scarlet Noella" event.

4. Defeat Lazarus

-> In 3-1, when you get to the "Twin Canumares" event you'll fight Lazarus.

You MUST defeat him before 5 turns are up, or the battle will end

prematurely. You MUST reduce him to 0 HP (or OK, or whatever, but

actually destroy him -- This is recommended for all of his battles,

actually).

5. Hot Spring Event 2

-> After you first reach 2-2, head back down to 2-1 to the Spies'

Quickness save point. Go around the mountain west of you, and search just

outside that forest on the other side for the "Ancient Volcanic Water"

event.

6. Demitri and Lilith's Event 1

-> In 2-2, when you trigger the "Tragedy Beneath the Moon" event you'll

fight both Demitri and Lilith. Defeat Lilith and only her. In fact,

you might want to even avoid Demitri completely.

7. Marie's Alchemy Event 2

-> In 2-2, after you go up to the forest in the middle of the area and then

down the left path, search southwest in this particular region to find

the "Thorough Purging" event.

8. Ayatane's Betrayal Event 2

-> In 2-2, from the tower you came in, head east and down to those little

islands. In the last one search for the "Neverending Fantasy" event.

This must be done before the 1st Augustine battle. See the Intermission

note below.

Intermission: You'll fight your first battle against Augustine here. Most say

you can beat him (and pretty sure you can, anyway). But if you are really

paranoic, you can just play it safe and only kill his minions.

9. Troy's Memories Event 1 (Or rather, battle)

-> In 1-2, when you trigger the "Emma Loage Forest" event, you'll fight both

Troy and Anesha. Defeat only Anesha and the battle will end, and that's

what you want. (It is suggested you only kill Anesha in any future

battles, regardless.)

10. Marie's Alchemy Event 3

-> In 1-2, after the battle with Troy, head to the northwest edge, right

next to the snow mountains (literally, on the edge of the world) and

search for the "Dale Wenso" event.

11. Demitri and Lilith's Event 2

-> After the battle with Troy in 1-2, head down to the Ferryman's Hideout

in 2-1. Head south and inch and search at the top of the forest for the

"Forest of the Ice Butterfly" event.

12. Ayatane's Betrayal Event 3

-> In 1-3, there's this sort of island on the northeast side of the map.

Search in the middle of it for the "Gi LaMensa" event.

13. Hot Spring Event 3

-> After you reach 2-3, find a Save Point and then move down to the Manor

at Len Mountains in 1-1. Stick to the mountain as you head south,

searching along the way to find the "Niu Spa" event. If you can't

find it, you can go and fight with Reicher firs then try again.

14. Marie's Alchemy Event 4

-> After the battle with Reicher (not a requirement, just using it as a

landmark), head north past the disappearing tablet. Then search an inch

south of the forest-surrounded mountain to find the "Disappointed

Inquiry" event.

Intermission: You'll fight your 2nd Troy/Anesha battle here. I still say to

play it safe and just kill Anesha.

15. Marie's Alchemy Event 5

-> After the 2nd battle with Troy (again, using it as a landmark), head

southwest. See that little town that is almost surrounded by forest?

Search an inch southwest of it for the "Sheritun de Mollet Guinea" event.

16. Avoid Augustine

-> When you trigger the "Tegnieri's Cage" event, you'll fight Lazarus,

after which he will join you. Immediately, you'll fight Augustine.

For this round, DO NOT touch him. Just defeat his minions.

17. Marie's Alchemy Event 6 (COMPLETE)

-> In 3-3, after you witness both events near the first save point, head

by Bel Canto's exit and search in the forest there for the "Overwhelming

Enea's Square" event. York and Marie will have to fight a lot of bees

here too.

18. Ayatane's Betrayal Event 4

-> In 3-3, after the lower right tablet disappears, search by the north side

of the town clusters in the middle of the area for the "Nikran Fire Spot"

event.

19. Hot Spring Event 4

-> As soon as you enter Fett Road in 3-3, exit and go to Nefteg's Tower.

Head to forest east of it and search for the event, "Rofia Spring".

20. Demitri and Lilith's Event 3

-> Once you get to 4-1, either go back through the tower or do this RIGHT

AFTER you fight Jedah. Head down to Traveler's Distance in 2-3. And

search at the edge of the forest west of you for the "Wailing Evergreen"

event.

-> After you see that one, jump down to Hideout of the Moon in 2-2, and

search southwest of the tower that leads to 2-3 for the "Eclipse of the

Empress" event.

21. Demitri and Lilith's Event 4 (COMPLETE)

-> After you battle them in 4-1, they'll join you.

22. Mikoto and the Siblings

-> As soon as you step into 4-2, head east and hug the edge of the world as

you go north. Search at the end for the "Jill Elino Flash" event.

23. Troy's Message

-> In 4-2, after the first story event (with Judas, Jedah, the siblings,

Ayatane and Miko), head to the top left of the area, moving behind some

buildings and out of sight. Search up here for the "Rend Boundary" event.

24. Noin Split

-> I had no better name... But that's also the name of the event you must

see! In 4-2, after the previous event, keep going past the tablet. When

you start going east and south, at the end there's a circle with a

square "cutout" in it. Search by what would be 12 o'clock on that circle

for this event. The next event you need to see is on a circular trigger,

so you can't miss it.

25. Ayatane's Betrayal 5 (COMPLETE)

-> When you are on the jailbreak scenario, using Ayatane, Troy and Miko,

you must not let either Troy or Ayatane to die, at all. Reviving them

doesn't count, if they ever touch the ground, reload. This seems to only

matter against the Judas/Jedah fight, but play it safe and do this for

all battles.

NOTE: By this point, you can check if you are on the right path. After the

jailbreak is over (and you are back with York), go to a save point, check the

database and look at the titles. If titles 31~50 and 72~80 are showing, you are

on the true end, congratulations.

If they aren't showing up, you did something wrong. Better luck next time.

26. Ayatane's Health

-> In 4-3, search west of the tower leading to 5-1 to find the "Forsaken

Echt" event. This will only happen if you are on the true end, and will

prevent Ayatane from dying later on.

27. Triplets Rejoined

-> If you are on the true route, when you enter the tower that leads to

Ida (5-1), Vivi should join you.

28. Hot Springs Event 5

-> As soon as you enter the tower leading to 5-1 (and Vivi joins you, if),

head back out. Go behind the tower and wiggle your way up to the next

platform, search the northeast corner for the "Respell Bath" event.

The Patron note: After #28, you'll continue to explore 5-1. BEFORE the "Dusk to Decadence" event, go north just a bit and unlock the "Blurred False Moon" event. You'll need this to get the final party members and, therefore, costumes.

29. Hot Springs Event 6 (COMPLETE)

-> After you load your true end data, search where you are to get Raizen and

Lazarus back. Then head east, but go north before you cross a bridge over

the lava. Search up here for the "Spring of Overflowing Sea". And that's

it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/141/1.jpg The Badass -- Exceed 10,000 points of total damage.

Presently working to ensure this is, in fact, cumulative.

Pretty sure that won't be the case. I've seen videos online of 500+ combos doing over 1 mil in damage. Anyways nice job getting this up so quickly, I can't wait to play it!

Can someone explain the first trophy?

Where is this database I can check for the title requirements?

Do I have to be at a certain point? Haven't played too long so far.

yes you have to release your first soul it's right after a big battle then a cutscene. it's in the area with the mountains so not too far into the game. but after that cutscene run back to the save house and database will be there.

I was pretty damn busy the last couple days and started it back up this morning. And I'm still grinding. That Prinny battle is pissing me off. I can get rid of him pretty damn quick but his buddies have ridiculously strong attacks compared to their generic counterparts.

Ya the prinny battle would be easy if it didn't take me like 3 frickin turns to kill just 1 of the crabs. I haven't found a weak spot for those damn crabs yet.

Is it confirmed that all trophies can be obtained by playing on normal or easy? I am currently playing hard but I was just curious if it's going to be worth the effort if I could just play on easy and still experience the storyline and gameplay plus unlock all the trophies. Thanks.

Actually, one of the trophies is getting the true ending, which in the Japanese versions, could only be obtained on Hard mode. I think I read somewhere that it's the same for the English version.

The true endding can be achived in any mode.

But there is and extra map 5.3 wich can only be acceced from beating the tru ending in hard mode. That map hasent anything that is nesecary for any trophies though.

There's no trophy for completing hard mode right?

There is no trophie for completing on hard mode.

But there may be some titles in the database wich can only be unlocked by visiting the last map 5.3 wich is only accesibel after completing the tru ending on a hard mode game.

Right. You can get all the trophies on any mode.

Playing the game on hard mode if for die hard fans who wich to see all parts of the game, also on hard mode you will carry much more things over to a second play through.

Actually, I believe a few of the titles require you to defeat monsters in the hidden dungeon (5-3) that's only accessible by playing through the game on hard.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmm actually you may be right. That would mean the only way to platinium it is on hard.
