Introduction:

Comet Crash is a real-time strategy game developed by Pelfast. It is a classic tower defense game with an added twist: it allows you to fight back! You defend your base with weapons and specialised mobile units. At the same time Comet Crash lets you build an army of up to 1000 units that can be released in one big rush to exterminate your enemy.

Comet Crash has many features. Co-Op allows 3 players to fight through the Campaign together. Battle supports up to 4 players and allows configurable teams. There is also a Training mode were you can hone your skills. In addition, Comet Crash supports background music through the XMB, video record/upload, and 1080p. The only thing Comet Crash lacks is online multiplayer, but for those that thrive on competition, statistics are tracked with online leaderboards.

Update! DLC added! Bionic Swarm is the first official expansion pack for Comet Crash. The Bionic Swarm expansion adds 50% more content with new gameplay features, 16 new levels, and 10 battle maps across two new environments.

Bionic Swarm improves greatly on Comet Crash. Enemies are tougher and more relentless. Fans of the original Comet Crash will absolutely love Bionic Swarm.

Walkthrough:

STEP 1:

Complete the Training mode. The training mode will help you grasp the overall concept to the game and introduce you to some of the enemies you will be encountering in the game. The Training mode is quite short, but it is helpful.

Upon completion of STEP 1 you will obtain:

(B) Complete Training

STEP 2:

Complete the Campaign mode in Normal (Ranked) difficulty. The Campaign is broken into four comets: Kreios, Hathor, Aether and Helios. The Bionic Swarm DLC adds an additional two comets: Gaia, and Kronos. Each comet consists of 7 areas, except for Gaia and Kronos which contain 8 areas each. There are 44 areas in the entire Campaign. As you progress you are introduced to new enemies. After completing an area, new offensive and defensive towers are unlocked.

Some of the later Campaign areas can be quite challenging, especially if you are a perfectionist. Just remember, you don't need to complete areas with perfect health on your base. You just to complete the area. If one or two enemies manage to slip through your defenses don't restart. If you want, you can return to the area later and try for the 5 star "Perfect" rating. Right now, just focus on completing the area.

Upon completion of STEP 2 you will obtain;

(S) Kreios Area 7

(S) Hathor Area 14

(S) Aether Area 21

(G) Helios Area 28

(B) Welcome Back [DLC]

STEP 3:

The majority of trophies will be obtained while playing through the Campaign, but there are a few you'll have to hunt down such as Triple-Decker Tanks, Box Kill 200, and Area X Shortcut. At this point you can focus on cleaning-up these remaining trophies.

Some of the clean-up trophies are easy, while others are very difficult and time consuming. You do not have to complete the area for them to unlock. All you have to do is meet the requirements for the trophy and each one will pop as you play. Once the trophy has unlocked just hit :start: select Main Menu and move on to the next clean-up trophy you need.

Upon completion of STEP 3 you will obtain;

(B) Box Kill 20

(B) Box Kill 50

(B) Box Kill 200

(B) Kreios Shortcut

(B) Hathor Shortcut

(B) Aether Shortcut

(S) Triple-Decker Tanks

(B) Chain Reaction [DLC]

(H)(B) Area 30 Shortcut [DLC]

(H)(B) Area 34 Shortcut [DLC]

(H)(B) Area 36 Shortcut [DLC]

(H)(B) Area 41 Shortcut [DLC]

STEP 4:

There are five clean-up trophies remaining. All five are part of the Bionic Swarm DLC. Big Snake, and Big Dragon must be done using 2 or 3 players. You will need a second SIXAXIS or DUAL SHOCK controllers. Gaia Resurgence and Kronos Resurgence, in my opinion, are the two most difficult trophies. Both of these will take a bit of practise. You will have to tweak your offensive/defensive towers many times before you master either of these areas. They are difficult and time consuming, but not impossible. The last trophy is Kamikaze Pro. This is the only trophy in the entire game where you must obtain a PERFECT score for it to unlock. If you followed this road map, and just finished both Resurgence areas, you'll find Kamikaze Pro as simple as a walk in the park.

Upon completion of STEP 4 you will obtain;

(H)(B) Big Snake [DLC]

(H)(B) Big Dragon [DLC]

(S) Gaia Resurgence [DLC]

(S) Kronos Resurgence [DLC]

(B) Kamikaze Pro [DLC]

I hope this Road Map helps you on your way to 100%. :)

Complete the Training mode

This trophy is self-explanatory. Complete the training.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/008.jpg Box Kill 200 (B)

Helios Area 22, Ranked: Kill 200 units that have been boxed in with weapons

Enemy units killed within a "box" are cumulative. You can box in 100 units, then box in 75 units, and then box in a final 25 units (200 units total) to unlock the Box Kill 200 trophy. You do not have to box in and kill 200 units all at once. The Box Kill 20 and Box Kill 50 trophies unlock in the same manner. Make sure you are in the proper area as each trophy is assigned to a specific one.

These trophies take a little planning, but are not difficult. The basic strategy is to create two paths to your base for enemy units to follow. At the same time, you need to ensure you have enough defensive units to protect your base. The following video will show you the basic concept;

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/009.jpg Kreios Shortcut (B)

Kreios Area 5, Ranked: replace a key enemy structure to create an optimal path to the enemy Base

The key to this trophy is the word "replace". You need to destroy the enemy gateway and replace it with your own. If you destroy it and build a turret in its place the trophy will not unlock. You must replace it with your own gateway. Here is a image showing the location of the enemy gateway;

Similar to Kreios Area 5. This time you must replace two enemy Pulsar towers with two Gateways. Here is a image of the enemy towers that must be replaced;

The third replacement or third times a charm. Once again you must replace the enemy gateway with your own. Here is an image of the enemy gateway that must be destroyed and replaced with your own;

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/004.jpg Triple-Decker Tanks (S)

Hathor Area 12, Ranked: Produce a compressed flow of tanks by collapsing the trail multiple times

For this trophy you need to build a Basic Ops and upgrade it once so that is starts building tanks. The more tanks the better so build as many Basic Ops as you want. Just make sure to upgrade them all so that they are building tanks. Once you have 1000 tanks, release them. The basic idea is to get the tanks to go left, then block their path so they double-back and head right. Once they are about to get to the enemy base unblock the original path and then block the new path so that they have to double-back again. You want the tanks to follow a zig-zag pattern. Make them travel left-right-left-right, or right-left-right-left. You have to get the tanks to travel on top of themselves at least three times. The following video will show you the basic concept;

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/000.jpg Helios Area 28 (G)

Complete Comet Helios Area 28 at Ranked difficulty

In order to complete Comet Helios Area 28 you must unlock all the areas that preceded it. This means you need to complete Comet Kreios, Comet Hathor, and Comet Aether first. You do not need a PERFECT score on any of the areas, you just need to complete them. You do not have to complete any of the Resurgence areas for this trophy to unlock. Complete areas 1 through 28 at Ranked (Normal) difficulty to obtain this trophy.

Bionic Swarm DLC

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/12.jpg Welcome Back (B)

Complete Area 29 of expansion pack on Normal difficulty.

This trophy is self-explanatory. Complete the very first level of Bionic Swarm.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/21.jpg Kamikaze Pro (B)

Area 38, Normal difficulty: Get a perfect score without building any Turrets, Lasers, Bombers, or Pulsars.

If you've made it up to Area 38, then this trophy should not pose a problem for you. You're introduced to Kamikaze's in the level. Use them to deal with the Snake's, and Dragon's the enemy sends at you. The enemy does not attack with ground units in this area, but there is an occasional missile launch so be warned.

Start off by building yourself a Harvester. Then build a Research tower and immediately research Kamikaze. Next, start building as many Basic Ops as you can and upgrade each one so that they are making Drone/Kamikaze units. Build a Waypoint in the far left bottom corner. Now, every time a Snake or a Dragon attacks deploy your Kamikaze units. The Kamikaze units will head straight to the Waypoint so try to get the attacking Snake/Dragon in-between them. The timing is not difficult, so you should be able to manage without any problems. Once you have this defensive pattern mastered you can focus on attacking. Remember, you must get PERFECT for this trophy to unlock.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/16.jpg Gaia Resurgence (S)

Complete Gaia Resurgence on Normal difficulty.

The Resurgence levels are tough. The enemy has an unlimited arsenal of weapons and money and you are stuck flying around harvesting Thorium and then building one or two towers just to defend yourself. Lasers and Pulsar towers are mandatory. I also suggest building at least two Special Ops towers whose only job is to churn out Thief units. Don't bother attacking directly. The enemy base is in the middle of a spiral so even an attack with a 1000 unit Dragon will not penetrate their defenses (trust me, I tried). The only way to to defeat this level is to cut a path along the left side and then send your Dragon attack in. You could also try attacking with a slew of Switch units and then sending in a squadron of 1000 tanks, but I could never time it properly to work. The following image shows you the path you need to clear;

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/17.jpg Kronos Resurgence (S)

Complete Kronos Resurgence on Normal difficulty.

Another Resurgence level This one is even tougher than the last. I put hours and hours into this one. I even tried following a few YouTube video's tower by tower, but couldn't match the speed of the players. I finally took the easy way out and fired up a second DS3 controller and played the level in 2P mode. This allows you to build two Research towers, meaning you can launch two simultaneous attacks of 1000 Dragons (2000 tanks). Shuffling the controllers was difficult, but it's manageable. In 1P mode it's possible to beat the level in less than 10 minutes. I took the easier router, I'm not proud of it, but like the PS3T motto says; Every trophy counts. Reference the 2P method I broke down for the Big Snake trophy. If necessary, I can post a video to help anyone that is struggling.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/13.jpg Area 30 Shortcut (B)(H)

Area 30, Normal difficulty: Destroy key enemy structures to open a shortcut to the enemy base.

The Shortcut trophies in Bionic Swarm are very similar to the ones in the original Comet Crash. The only difference being you don't have to replace the enemy Gateway. This time, you just need to clear a path. This is a lot more difficult that it sounds. Creating shortcuts in Bionic Storm can easily take you 30 minutes to 1 hour or even longer. You have to defend at the same time so their is quite a bit of multi-tasking happening. Here is an image of the key enemy structures you must destroy to open the shortcut;

http://i.imgur.com/bilugz5.png

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/14.jpg Chain Reaction (B)(H)

Area 34, Normal difficulty: Destroy multiple Missile Silos in a chain reaction.

Next to Welcome Back this is one of the easy Bionic Swarm trophies to unlock. On Area 34 there are a row of 5 Bombers on the lower left. Wait until the enemy Research tower finishes research on missiles silo's. The enemy will recycle the Bombers, replace them all with Missile Silos, and then immediately start building missiles. As soon as the missiles appear out of the silos build a Pulsar tower right beside one, and upgrade it two or three times. The Pulsar tower will destroy the missile silo, the missile, and cause an explosion destroying the four adjacent missile silos and missiles.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/15.jpg Big Snake (B)(H)

Area 31, Normal difficulty: In 2 or 3 player mode, attack with more than 1000 Scouts in Snake formation.

I ended up having to email Pelfast in regards to two hidden trophies. One of them was Big Snake. I'll let you guess what the other one was. Big Snake requires two controllers. It's meant to be done with two or three players, but it's easy enough to do it yourself. The key to Big Snake is to attack with more than 1000 Scouts in Snake formation. You cannot build more than 1000 units at a time. This means you need to build at least 1 BASIC OPS with Player 2. It also means you need to attack using units from Player 1 and Player 2 at the same time. Here is how I did it;

  1. From the Main Menu select 2 players, and then Expansion.
  2. Go to Area 31. Select your colours.
  3. Using controller 2 build a Harvester, Research and a Basic Ops. Do whatever you want with the leftover Thorium.
  4. Fly the ship off into a corner somewhere out of the way.
  5. Grab Controller 1 and play the area as you normally would, focusing on Basic Ops, and Scout units.
  6. As your Scout inventory slowly climbs, player 2's will do the same.
  7. Build a Research tower, and research Snake for both players.
  8. Now look at the Hub and add up how many Scouts you have. You have 700 Scout units and Player 2 has 401 Scout units? That's 1101 Scouts. Great!
  9. Simultaneously on both controllers use the :rs: to attack using your Scouts/Snake. Don't stop attacking until you unlock the trophy.

Please note: You need to ensure all 1001+ units are on the screen at the same time. If you attack and your Snake is being blasted to bits by Lasers before all of your units exit your Base you will not get the trophy. You might have had 1101 Scouts, but by the time they all exited the base half of them could have been destroyed. To avoid this problem, just create a long and winding path for your Snake to follow.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/18.jpg Big Dragon (B)(H)

Area 33, Normal difficulty: In 2 or 3 player mode, attack with more than 1000 Tanks in Dragon formation.

This was the other hidden trophy I received help from Pelfast on. The procedure is identical to Big Snake, except this time you want to focus on building Tanks. Follow the steps I outlined in Big Snake and you should not have any problems with Big Dragon. Remember! Big Dragon is unlocked on Area 33.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/19.jpg Area 34 Shortcut (B)(H)

Area 34, Normal difficulty: Destroy key enemy structures to open a shortcut to the enemy base.

The structures you want to destroy are to the far left of the enemies missile silos. It's a cluster of 4 Pulsar towers in the shape of a backwards "L". Here is an image of the key enemy structures you must destroy to open the shortcut;

http://i.imgur.com/2BHlwL2.png

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/116/20.jpg Area 36 Shortcut (B)(H)

Area 36, Normal difficulty: Destroy key enemy structures to open a shortcut to the enemy base.

This one proved difficult for me. It took nearly an hour to open the shortcut to the enemy base, and when I finally did the trophy did not unlock. I continued to build for another 10 minutes until I finally heard that sound we all love to hear. Here is an image of the key enemy structures you must destroy to open the shortcut. Any enemy towers under the yellow line need to be destroyed.

This is one of the easier shortcuts. Here is an image of the key enemy structures you must destroy to open the shortcut;

I did it in 1P, mass produced Torpedos after spending a day trying (and failing) some sort of youtube strategy using Snakes and Dragons. Does 2P make a difference? I thought having 2P makes the game harder. Like for Area 31, I recall the AI didn't produce dragons in 1P, but they do in 2P

2P was the only way I could get past Resurgence.

Supposed to be a gold trophy.

Sucks how there's no guide on Area 28. Had to look around YouTube myself.
It's assumed that if you make it up to Area 28 that you've gotten familiar enough with the game to beat it. I can add a YouTube video if you really think it's necessary.

I can't see either.

I've contacted the Guide Team about this issue.
