Trophy Guide, Roadmap, and Assignment Guide by Alpha_Cookie

Introduction:

Close Quarters is the second DLC pack for DICE’s hit shooter Battlefield 3. This time, DICE is bringing the Battlefield in doors for some up close and personal combat. Like Back to Karkand, we see the arrival of 10 new weapons with Assignments to match. Also along for the ride are the new Conquest Domination and Gun Master game modes, adding a bit more variety to the Battlefield. Even if this DLC isn’t your style, it’s still a great addition to the Battlefield.

Overview:

-Estimated Trophy Difficulty: 2/10 (personal opinion)

-Offline: 0

-Online: 5 (3 (B), 2 (S))

-Approximate Time to Platinum: 5-10 hours depending on skill

-Minimum # of Playthroughs: n/a

-Missable Trophies: 0

-Glitched Trophies: 0

-Do cheats disable trophies?: No Cheats

-Does difficulty affect trophies: Depends on skill

Roadmap:

Step 1: Assignments: Just focus on completing the assignments. Compared to Back to Karkand they are very easy, and won’t take that long playing on Close Quarters maps. Once you have all the weapons unlocked, just get 10 kills with each of them to earn “Show of Force.” Its possible during this phase you'll probably unlock a few other trophies too.

Step 2: Everything else: The trophies are pretty simple, and will likely come when doing the assignments. Just win a round of Conquest Domination for “Dominator”, get a kill with a Carbine (Engineer Weapon), RPG/SMAW, and Handgun without dying for “Deadly Tools,” complete a round of Gun Master for “Men of Calibre,” and finally walk off the edge of Ziba Tower for the hidden trophy “Over the edge.” Nothing should take too long to complete.

Trophy Guide:

Won a round of Conquest Domination

Very straight forward trophy. Just win a round of Conquest Domination on any of the supported maps and this is yours. Impossible to miss if your completing assignments for Show of Force. Capping flags is faster in this mode, so you'll always need to be on the move to make sure your team keeps the lead. If you feel your team is losing, switch teams immediately or quit out to find a new team. If you leave it to long to switch, you won't be able to because "the round is almost over."

Completed a round of Gun Master

Again, very straight forward. You only have to complete a round of Gun Master, not win. Shouldn’t be a problem for anyone.

Gun Master in Battlefield is similar to Gun Master from Counter Strike. You are on a team. The first person to move through all the tiers of weapons before finally getting the winning kill with their knife is the winner. Impossible to miss when completing assignments.

Fall over the edge on Ziba Tower.

Funny trophy to obtain. You will need to jump off the roof of Ziba Tower.

Without dying, got a kill with a Carbine, Pistol and Rocket Launcher

Probably the most difficult trophy for some. You will need to get a kill streak with a Carbine (Engineer Weapon), Handgun, and RPG/SMAW in one life. My recommendation is to get the RPG/SMAW kill first as it is the hardest kill to obtain, especially versus infantry. You’ll be best off finding a good position to just get all 3 kills as fast as possible, but in all likelihood this will just come naturally playing as an Engineer.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/883/48.jpgShow of Force (S)

Get 10 kills with all ten CQ weapons

Possible Glitch: If the trophy doesn't unlock when getting 10 kills with each of the guns, try getting 10 kills with the L86A2 in one round, and the trophy should pop.

For this trophy you’ll need to get 10 kills with each of the new weapons this DLC brings. An assignment guide is included below to make this as easy as possible. You do not actually have to unlock all the weapons. If you pick them up off dead bodies and get ten kills, that will also count. You can also get 10 kills with 9/10 of the weapons by playing Gun Master. Gun Master does not include the M5K so you will still need to unlock or pick that up for the kills.

Weapons Required:

Assault Class: AUG A3, SCAR-L

Engineer Class: ACW-R, MTAR-21

Support Class: L86A2, LSAT

Recon Class: M417, JNG-90

All Class: SPAS-12, M5K

Assignment Guide:

Shepard- AUG A3

  • 10 Squad Revives
  • 30 Assault Rifle Kills

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a01.jpg?v=6000

A very easy assignment, that shouldn’t take very long at all. Just pull out your favorite Assault Rifle and go to town. SQ Revives should come naturally. Just follow your squad mates around and revive them with your Defibrillator when they die. They will have green names. Many will complete this in one round.

Recommended Maps: Any infantry based map

Recommended Modes: Any

Set us up the bomb- SCAR-L (Must complete “Shepard” first)

  • 20 Kills with Underslung Grenade Launcher
  • 15 Kills with Hand Grenades

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a02.jpg?v=6000

This one can be time consuming, but it isn’t hard. The best way to get Hand Grenade kills is positioning yourself somewhere enemies flood in as a Support. Drop yourself an ammo box and spam grenades. SQ Grenade perk should help here. The underslung refers to the Assault Class’s M320 launcher. The best way to use it is from medium range into a crowd. Shooting down the hallway of Conquest Flag B on Operation Metro is a prime location for this weapon. You can also use the default M320 to blow chunks off walls on maps like Seine Crossing and Grand Bazaar to kill people with the falling rubble. Any version of the M320 will count towards this assignment.

Recommended Maps: Any infantry based map

Recommended Modes: Any

No Shortage- L86A2

  • 20 Squad Resupplies
  • 20 Kills with Light Machine Guns

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a03.jpg?v=6000

Getting the LMG kills shouldn't be difficult at all. Just use your favorite Support weapon to do so. Squad Resupplies are also easy. Just follow around teammates with green names, and when they stop for a second or ask, drop an ammo box for them. On pretty much any game mode except TDM and Gun Master, these are extremely easy to get. Its possible some will get this in one round.

Recommended Maps: Any

Recommended Modes: Any

Point Blank- LSAT

  • 10 C4 Kills
  • 10 Knife Takedowns

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a04.jpg?v=6000

Probably my favorite assignment. C4 is the default explosive charges for the Support class. Its very universal and can do anything. Take out vehicles, defend objectives by lining it with the stuff, booby trap MCOMS, anything. Find your own preferred way to use it, and enjoy the explosions! As for knifing, your best bet is to run around on tight maps and attempt to get behind the enemies. Try and kill as many as you can with your knife before they take you down. If possible, try to isolate players before knifing them so you don't get shot by someone in the stabbing animation.

Recommended Maps: Any

Recommended Modes: Any

Done Fixing- ACW-R

  • 20 AT Rocket Kills
  • 30 Kills with Carbines

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a05.jpg?v=6000

Again, another easy assignment to complete. Just load up your favorite Engineer weapon and go to town. AT Rockets refer to your RPG or SMAW. Use those how you feel comfortable, either against vehicles or as an anti infantry weapon. You can also RPG walls on maps like Grand Bazaar and Seine Crossing. Collapsing the walls onto people will result in kills counted towards the weapon that caused them, such as your RPG.

Recommended Maps: Any

Recommended Modes: Any

My Own Terminator- MTAR-21 (Must complete “Done Fixing” first)

  • Get a kill with an EOD Bot
  • 100 Kills with Carbines

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a06.jpg?v=6000

As up above, just go to town with your favorite Engineer weapon to meet that requirement. Getting a kill with an EOD Bot may sound tricky, but it shouldn’t prove too difficult. The easiest way is to use the torch on the EOD Bot although you can roadkill. If possible, find a camping sniper or something, and just drop it behind them to torch them, or wait until the enemy is distracted (or they’ll probably shoot your EOD Bot) and just have your little droid charge them. You can also disrepair vehicles to death with the EOD Bot.

Recommended Maps: Any

Recommended Modes: Any

Team Player- M417

  • 10 T-UGS Assists
  • 20 Flags Captured

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a07.jpg?v=6000

This is another easy assignment. If you’d like to get this assignment done as fast as you possibly can, play Conquest Domination. Flag caps are quicker on this mode, and the maps are small enough for you to drop a T-UGS and get assists with minimal effort. (T-UGS is a Recon Spotting Gadget, replaces MAV/SOFLAM) This assignment shouldn’t be too hard.

Recommended Maps: Any

Recommended Modes: Conquest Domination, Conquest, Conquest Assault

Bullet Point- JNG-90 (Must complete “Team Player” first)

  • 50 Sniper Rifle Kills
  • Win 3 rounds of Conquest Domination

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a08.jpg?v=6000

Just pick your favorite Sniper Rifle and go to town. The SKS works particularly well. Winning 3 rounds of Conquest Domination is pretty straight forward. Just help out your team, hope they do the same, and the assignment should be completed pretty fast.

Recommended Maps: Any

Recommended Modes: Conquest Domination

These hurt too- SPAS-12

  • 20 Pistol Kills
  • 20 Shotgun Kills

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a09.jpg?v=6000

Extremely straight forward assignment. Take your favorite shotgun and pistol combo and start killing the enemies. Its likely you’ll get this in one or two rounds if your playing infantry maps, especially with increased tickets.

Recommended Maps: Any infantry map

Recommended Modes: Any

Hold the Trigger- M5K (Must complete “These hurt too” first)

  • Finish in the Top 5 of Gun Master
  • 100 SMG Kills

http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/profile/bf3/assignments/2048/l/xp2a10.jpg?v=6000

This is again straight forward. When the assignment says “SMG” it refers to PDWs such as the P90 and UMP-45. To finish in the Top 5 of Gun Master, you’ll need to place #5 or better overall. Not just your own team. The mode will be easier the more you play as you get better with the weapons, and the assignment should come naturally.

Recommended Maps: Any infantry based maps

Recommended Modes: Gun Master, Any infantry focused modes

xricky93x;2791409']To get AT rocket kills I found Seine Crossing to be the easiest map (conquest)' date=' just shoot the buildings above the enemies and get the kill. I know Bazaar works as well, but I personally still haven't found the exact positions to shoot and kill someone.[/quote']

Just run around the new CQ maps with it. Easy to hit someone in a narrow hallway.

Nice guide, Alpha. I be guessing that you got to play the DLC now.

Ha. I wish.

Luckily I can get the majority of the ingame work done (assignments and what not) without being able to play the maps myself.

Hopefully not having all the trophies due to DICE's screw ups doesn't hinder my chances though. :pout:
