Shuffle
http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/CoH2G-Kickstart.jpg MonkeyPaw and partner Gaijinworks are teaming up to localize a dropped JRPG series – Class of Heroes. Atlus brought the cutesy take on Wizardry overseas and now MonkeyPaw plans on localizing the 2009 PSP sequel Class of Heroes 2 and the 2010 PS3 port Class of Heroes 2G. Both games will get a digital release, but whether a deluxe bundle happens or not is in the hands of Kickstarter supporters. Vic Ireland hopes to make a deluxe bundle that's a throwback to the days when he was at Working Designs. The catch is Gaijinworks and MonkeyPaw games need half a million dollars to produce these packages. Like other Kickstarter fundraiser, the Class of Heroes campaign has various reward tiers ranging from signed posters to a trip to E3 plus a dinner with MonkeyPaw and Gaijinworks. The biggest prize, a trip to Tokyo to meet the developers plus a cameo in Class of Heroes 2, will be hosted off site. The $500,000 Kickstarter page for Class of Heroes 2 is live and Gaijinworks founder Victor Ireland says more is on the line than a deluxe edition. He's asking fans of JRPGs to support the genre as a whole by funding Class of Heroes 2. "We went after Class of Heroes 2 because we like the game, the series has built a strong following in Japan as it progresses and we plan to add much to the localization to bring the game to Western tastes," John Greiner, President of MonkeyPaw Games, said in an e-mail to Siliconera. Class of Heroes is on its fourth PSP game now with Class of Heroes Final: Her Majesty the Freshman. Atlus released the original Class of Heroes back in 2009, but passed on picking up later games in the series. "The original game didn't get this treatment and didn't have much marketing support as well. Victor Ireland has an excellent track record on localizations as fans of Lunar, Growlanser, Alundra, and Arc the Lad, will attest. We feel the series will be widely acclaimed once we have polished the game for consumption here. With your support, Class of Heroes II on the PSP system will have a digital and Limited Deluxe Pack release. We chose the PSP system version as the Deluxe Pack because there was already a PSP system release of the first game in the series and our goal is to get them all out. So if you're along for the whole ride, you'll eventually have a line of awesome Class of Heroes games on your shelf." Shuffle
Copies of Class of Heroes 2 for PSP shipped out earlier this year. Next year, we’ll get the PlayStation 3 version, Class of Heroes 2G. MonkeyPaw Games will publish the title, which will be localized by Gaijinworks. Class of Heroes 2G adds trophies, additional voice acting for NPCs, a new dungeon called the Gate of Darkness, and has an option to install the title on your PS3.
