pretend_hero
Road Map Overview: -Estimated trophy difficulty: 4/10 -Offline: 42 -Online: 0 -Approximate amount of time to Platinum: 6-10 hours -Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 -Number of missable trophies: 7 -Glitched trophies: 0 -Do cheat codes disable trophies?: None available. -Does difficulty affect trophies?: Nothing in this game is too difficult. The difficulty is a 4 because good casts are difficult to get if you don't have a decent method it could be frustrating. And due to the missable trophies, not following a guide could result in having to play Story Mode all over again and that means ALL of it from the beginning. Playing through once and cleaning up trophies in Trophy Chase mode is long enough. Introduction: You will need to play through this game only once if you follow this guide and the following thread: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/cabelas-outdoor-adventures/22563-story-mode-walkthrough-opportunity-hunt-locations.html Make sure you get the 20 good casts before the end of Story Mode (see 'Casting Master') and follow the walkthrough above while checking off the opportunity hunts. Those are the only things to worry about when attempting a finish in one playthrough. Abbreviated Walkthrough: You should start with Story Mode because that is where you unlock items and earn trophy points. The trophy animals will not show up in Trophy Chase Mode until you get them in Story Mode. After this, move on to Trophy Chase Mode and get all trophies associated with this. Finally, use Trophy Chase Mode to clean up the remaining trophies. MISSABLE TROPHIES Casting Novice; Casting Expert; Tracking Master; Notorious Hunter; Casting Master; Opportunistic Hunter; Turkey Hunter STORY MODE Make sure you explore every possible area of the map so you don't miss any opportunity hunts. You are not able to go back and play Story Mode unless you start a new game. Don't worry about weapon-specific trophies. The only "XX Amount Of Whatever" trophies you should be trying for are those for casting. Some of the others will unlock within Story Mode. TROPHY CHASE MODE Focus on completing each animal hunt first. Save all remaining non-Trophy Chase trophies for last. CLEANING UP REMAINING TROPHIES Now you can view what you have left and complete them in Trophy Chase Mode. Conclusion: This game is straightforward besides the opportunity hunts, so reading this guide and the walkthrough will net you this very easy platinum with no worries about falling short. Bronze Trophies http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/02.jpg Greenhorn Complete first hunt from the game This will come soon after you start Story Mode. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/03.jpg Fisherman Complete first fishing challenge from the game Once again, this will come in the first section of Story Mode. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/04.jpg Call Novice Make 1 good call See 'Call Master'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/05.jpg Tracking Novice Examine 1 animal mark See 'Tracking Master'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/06.jpg Casting Novice Make 1 good cast See 'Casting Master'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/12.jpg Merciful Hunter Hunt 5 Big Game Animals using one shot per animal See 'Marksman'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/13.jpg Rifle Mastery Hunt 10 animals using the rifle This will unlock during Story Mode. The rifles are used on big game animals. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/15.jpg Moose Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Moose in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/16.jpg Call Expert Make 5 good calls See 'Call Master'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/17.jpg Efficient Hunter Hunt 10 Big Game Animals using one shot per animal See 'Marksman'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/19.jpg Tracking Expert Examine 5 animal marks See 'Tracking Master'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/20.jpg Casting Expert Make 5 good casts See 'Casting Master'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/21.jpg Handgun Mastery Hunt 5 animals using the handgun I doubt you'll get this during Story Mode unless you're going for it. It can be done in Trophy Chase Mode or even by shooting squirrels and raccoons during Story Mode. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/22.jpg Whitetail Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Whitetail Deer in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/23.jpg Columbian Blacktail Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Columbian Blacktail Deer in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/24.jpg Coues Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Coues Deer in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/25.jpg Sitka Blacktail Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Sitka Blacktail Deer in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/26.jpg Rocky Mountain Mule Deer Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Rocky Mountain Mule Deer in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/27.jpg Elk Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Elk in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/28.jpg Mountain Goat Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Mountain Goat in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/29.jpg Caribou Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Caribou in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/30.jpg Pronghorn Antelope Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Pronghorn Antelope in Trophy Chase mode See 'Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/31.jpg Desert Bighorn Sheep Trophy Hunter Hunt 1 Desert Bighorn Sheep in Trophy Chase mode You unlock the trophy animals by completing Story Mode. For all of these Trophy Chase hunts, make the animal as big as you can, Monster and Albino. You'll know exactly which one to go after and have a big target. The mountain goat is already white, so make it a different color and you'll easily spot your target. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/32.jpg Marksman Hunt 20 Big Game Animals using one shot per animal Big game animals are the deer, moose, goats, bears, etc. This is actually simple to pull off. When you're focusing on an animal and they're close enough, VITALS will be triggered, allowing you to view the weak spots (Lungs, Heart, Spine). Hit a vital organ and they'll be killed with one shot. If you do not get this in Story Mode, it can be done in Trophy Chase Mode. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/33.jpg Call Master Make 20 good calls The guide will want you to call an animal during the game. You will unlock Call Novice at that point. You can then either spam the calls until this unlocks or you can play through Story Mode and get the remaining calls in Trophy Chase Mode. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/34.jpg Tracking Master Examine 10 animal marks If you examine tracks, droppings and saplings whenever you come across them in Story Mode, you will get this by the end. It can only be done in Story Mode, so make sure you pay attention to the guide and the ground. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/35.jpg Notorious Hunter Complete all optional hunts within at least one region See 'Opportunistic Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/36.jpg Casting Master Make 20 good casts This is the hardest trophy in the game. It can only be done in Story Mode. When you reach a good fishing spot, press R2 to place a buoy. Move the boat away from that spot and try to cast as close as you can to the buoy. The guide will say something if it's a good cast. If you fail your objective, the good casts you got within that attempt no longer count. This can be gotten in two simple ways: 1. Each time you fish, get a few good casts and complete your objective. The amount of time to complete your objective goes up as you progress in Story Mode, so try for 5 or more in the later challenges. If you spread them out instead of going for them all at once, you can make it add up to 20 with no problem. 2. If you want to attempt to get 20 in one challenge, there is a fishing challenge towards the end of the game that has a 10 minute timer. That is plenty of time to get all 20 if you have the technique down. Alternately, you can check out the first fishing video in this thread at the sister site: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=173758 He shows you how to get to just the right distance where you only have to tap R2 and you'll have good casts every time. Thanks to dum-dee-dum for pointing this out. Edited September 17, 2009 by pretend_hero
pretend_hero
http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/37.jpg Integrity Hunt 10 trophies with 100% trophy integrity The trophy animals are your main targets for each section of Story Mode. When you retrieve your trophy in Story Mode or Trophy Chase Mode, you will see a percentage under Integrity. For 10 TROPHY animals, you must have 100%. You must use the recommended weapon for the animal or, the easiest way, use the Bow. If you do not have this trophy by the end of Story Mode, it can be done in Trophy Chase Mode. Just start a Caribou hunt and kill your target with the bow. Keep playing the same hunt until the trophy unlocks. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/38.jpg Opportunistic Hunter Explore and complete all the opportunity hunts Unless you want to play Story Mode more than once, I recommend you explore every chance you get. For example, wander around or go the opposite way when the guide gives you an objective. There are 2 opportunity hunts in each location, although I can only recall one in Alaska. Keep track of how many you've done in each location and if the trophy does not unlock after one opportunity hunt in Alaska, keep looking for a second. The following thread lists the main and opportunity hunts: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/cabelas-outdoor-adventures/22563-story-mode-walkthrough-opportunity-hunt-locations.html http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/39.jpg Bow Mastery Hunt 5 animals using the bow You can shoot your targets or squirrels and raccoons with the bow. If you don't get this in Story Mode, it can be done in Trophy Chase Mode. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/40.jpg Guns Collector Hunt animals using all guns from the game You unlock weapons as you progress in Story Mode. It's best to just play through the Story and save this for Trophy Chase Mode if you haven't gotten it yet. Just cycle through your 12 weapons until it unlocks. You have to kill your target for the use of the weapon to count. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/41.jpg Old School Hunter Hunt 10 Big Game Animals using iron sights This means you have to kill any big game (deer, goats, moose, etc.) without the scope. Equip your weapon and press the left directional button. You will remove the scope and be free to get this trophy. Save this for when you clean up your remaining trophies and get it in Trophy Chase Mode. You can complete a Caribou hunt 10 times to get this. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/42.jpg Quick Hunter Hunt 10 animals from the hip You can get this in Story Mode or Trophy Chase Mode. Whenever you come across a raccoon or squirrel, don't aim with the scope. Shoot and kill the animal and continue to do this to others until you get the trophy. Silver Trophies http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/07.jpg Shotgun Mastery Hunt 20 birds using the shotgun This trophy will come while playing Story Mode. You will have this trophy after your second bird hunt in the first section of Kansas. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/14.jpg Pheasant Hunter Complete all Pheasant hunts You get this in the first section of Story Mode. Just make sure you look around for opportunity hunts. Take a left when you have to examine Whitetail tracks in the second area in Kansas and you will reach the final Pheasant hunt. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/18.jpg Turkey Hunter Complete all Turkey hunts You will miss this trophy if you do not go out of your way to complete opportunity hunts. If you are exploring as I recommended, this will not be an issue. It unlocks while you're in Idaho. Gold Trophies http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/08.jpg Kansas Hunter Complete Kansas region See 'Alaska Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/09.jpg Idaho Hunter Complete Idaho region See 'Alaska Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/10.jpg British Columbia Hunter Complete British Columbia region See 'Alaska Hunter'. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/11.jpg Alaska Hunter Complete Alaska region These trophies are unlocked after completing each section of Story Mode. Just listen to the guide and learn how to do everything throughout Story Mode and it's very easy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/43.jpg Trophy Seeker Gather 200 Trophy points You get trophy points for completing objectives in Story Mode. Examining animal marks also gives you trophy points. If you do just about everything through Kansas and Idaho, this will come by the middle of the game. Platinum Trophy http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/209/01.jpg Platinum Awarded when all other trophies have been unlocked. starcrunch061
nice guide,i haven't heard about this game yet,ill probably get it Do you mean that you'll actually buy this game? It's total shit. It's not even a good rental, as it takes about 4 hours to do everything. Trophy whores, come one come all. But anyone else, stay really, REALLY far away. I haven't seen a game this inane since "Alundra 2"...
starcrunch061
Despite my bitching, there is a tip I'd offer: when trying for the "Casting Master" trophy, you should just cast over and over in the first practice mode (i.e. the first time you fish). If you hook a fish, just set the hook and cut the line (i.e. press the square button). There is no time limit, and you never have to worry about it again. It took me about 15 minutes or so to get the trophies.

starcrunch061
Another quick tip: to get the "old school hunter" trophy, you can actually kill animals that you aren't supposed to. You'll have to redo the hunt, but amazingly, the game keeps track of the kills somewhere. I only discovered this when I needed 3 more iron sight kills, but it can save a good bit of time. SirkSirk
I don't know why you're guide says the 20 good casts is the hardest trophy in the game. When The first fishing spot came up and I got my first good cast, I got the 1 good cast trophy, there's no timer. So I sat there until I got 20 in total, and bam, trophy. No time limit at all. It's definitely not the hardest trophy in the game by far. You might want to edit that.
