Career Mode Trophies

There are 11 career mode trophies. You should play on Pro Hunter Difficulty so you also get the trophy for completing the game on Sportsman Difficulty. You can change the difficulty you are playing on by going to Main Menu > My Career > Manage Progress > Change Difficulty > Pro Hunter. There are 2 animal track trophies. Animal tracks are easy to find in levels in which there is snow. The other career mode trophies will come just by playing through career mode.

Custom Firearm Trophies

There are 6 custom firearm trophies. You can customize your firearm by just changing the color or the part on the gun. From the career mode menu click :triangle: to get to the gun locker. So change any part or color on your rifle and shotgun. You need to get 50 kills with your shotgun to get "Shotgun Expert" and then 10 rifle kills for "Rifleman". For "Gun Collector" you need to get A+ rating on all levels to get all gun parts and colors. For "Gun Expert" you have to change every part and color for both rifles and shotguns.

Big Trophy Tournament Trophies

There are 2 big trophy tournament trophies. In this mode you can only hunt the animals that have a trophy on them when you're aiming at them. One of the trophies, "Rare Trophy," is harder to get. You have to hunt an albino animal and they appear randomly. The other trophy here is "Trophy Hunter" and you have to hunt all level 5 animals. So all together you are going to have to hunt 30 times.

Shooting Gallery/Prairie Dog Course Trophies

There is one shooting gallery trophy and there is only one prairie dog course trophy. You have to get all gold medals on all 4 levels for both shooting gallery and prairie dog course.

Online Trophies

All four online trophies can be done by yourself. All of the trophies beside "Objective Oriented" will unlock at the end of the game. Once you have completed 3 objectives the trophy will unlock. It does not have to be in one game, just complete 3 objectives.

You hunt your first buck in Pennsylvania Early Fall in Career Mode.

You will be in a blind or a stand more than 3 times in Career Mode. That means 3 Big Game Trophies should not be to hard to get.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/280.jpgLong Shothttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.pngDowned a Big Game Trophy from more than 80 yards

In just about every level you get a chance to down a Big Game Trophy from more than 80 yards. My longest shot is over 250 yards so this is not hard at all.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/398.jpgCustom Firearmhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.pngDowned your first animal with a custom modified firearm

Customizing your firearm means changing the color or the part on the gun. From the Career Mode menu click :triangle: to get to the gun locker. Once you get in the hunt and after you kill an animal the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/984.jpgBow Killhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.pngDowned your first animal with a bow

You can use a bow on just about any level in Career Mode. Some levels will require you to use your bow.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/24F.jpgRare Trophyhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.pngDowned at least one Albino Trophy in Big Trophy Tournament

If you are going for the "Trophy Hunter" trophy you will get 30 chances for an albino trophy to show up. These trophies are rare so you might complete the Big Trophy Tournament and never see one. If so, you are going to have to replay it until you see one. At level 5 you most likely will see an Albino trophy, if you don't just restart the hunt.

Unless you shoot the animal in the leg or something, most likely you will kill it with one shot every time. You should get this while progressing through Career Mode.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/10B.jpgShooting Galleries Experthttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.pngObtained Gold medals for all Courses in the Shooting Galleries

The key for all challenges is to shoot all the Big Game you see. Do not go for the Small Game all the time because it takes too much time to switch weapons and by the time you do, it's too late. It's best to let some of the Small Game just run or fly away so you don't miss a chance to bag more points on bigger game. There are only a few spots in each map where all you'll shoot is Small Game. Also, run through the maps at least 2-3 times just to figure the pattern and placement of the Big Game animals. They will be in the same spot every time you play.

Credit to southurnbuck for these tips:

Mirror Lake: In this challenge you'll see archery targets in about 4 places. When you see these forget all animals and aim & shoot at these targets as early as you can and as many times as you can, the points you get are huge and are the key to getting Gold on this challenge. Also using the Shotgun will increase your chances on staying on the target.

Evergreen Mountain: On this challenge there is only one archery target, so take advantage of it as soon as you see it because it only last for a few seconds. Then just concentrate on the Big Game animals as mentioned in the tip above.

Camino Dorado & Rimrock Valley: On these 2 challenges your only hopes of high scores for golds are the Big Game. There are no bonus targets to increase your score. Just stick to the tip mentioned above and you'll be fine.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/EA7.jpgTrophy Hunterhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.pngDowned all level 5 Big Trophies in Big Trophy Tournament

In Big Trophy Tournament, you can only hunt the animals with the trophy on them when you aim at them. You have to get each of Whitetail Deer, Axis Deer, Mule Deer, Elk, Moose, and Caribou to level 5. When your bar gets set back down to level 1 for an animal, you are done with it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/4E2.jpgFilm Experthttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.pngFilmed at least 2 hunts worth more than 100 points

You will get 6 chances to film a hunt during Career Mode. The hunts are Pennsylvania, Alaska Early Fall, British Columbia, Alberta, Montana, and Alaska Early Spring. You might think you have gotten more than 100 points on all your films. But not only do you need to get 100 points, you have to have at least a 2x multiplier on the video.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/9BF.jpgGunsmithhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.pngExplored gun customization options within the Gun Locker

In Career Mode, click :triangle: to go into the gun locker. Just click :cross: to modify the gun and the trophy will unlock shortly after.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/E6B.jpgPro Trackerhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.pngFound 10 animal tracks

You can find animal tracks in any level where you shoot videos. For the 2 levels in which you are hunting in snow, tracks are very easy to find. Those levels are Montana and Alaska Early Spring. You should be able to find 5 tracks per level. Just look at the ground and then you should see animal footprints easily.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/3T6.jpgExterminatorhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.pngObtained Gold medals in all Prairie Dog Courses

Use your shotgun for all levels, it will make the game go by fast and you will then get high points for time bonuses, making the gold medals easy. The only level the shotgun won't work is level 3 on Lost Lake. So you are going to have to use your rifle for that level.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/56D.jpgMaster Callerhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.pngMade at least 3 Awesome Duck calls

You will get a chance to call ducks in Pennsylvania, Alaska Early Fall, British Columbia, and Alberta. Hold down :cross: for around 2 seconds, let go and repeat. Try to only get green, if you do it right it will say "awesome." Do that 3 times and the trophy is yours. This is cumulative across games, this doesn't have to be at one time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/A79.jpgAccomplished Hunterhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_gold.pngFinished the Career on Pro Hunter difficulty setting

This game doesn't start off by asking what difficulty you want to play on, so at the main menu click on My Career > Manage Progress > Change Difficulty > Pro Hunter. All you have to do is complete all levels in Career Mode on Pro Hunter. None of the levels are too hard, the only thing different between the difficulties is that Pro Hunter doesn't help you aim like Sportsman would. I managed to get A+ on all missions without much trouble, but you don't have to get A+ on everything to get this trophy. However, you will need A+ on all missions if you want to get the "Gun Collector" trophy, so might as well do them now.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/6ED.jpgThe Good Hunterhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_gold.pngFinished the Career on Sportsman difficulty setting

The trophies stack so play on Pro Hunter difficulty setting to start off with. See "Accomplished Hunter" for some tips.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/524.jpgGun Experthttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_gold.pngAll your rifles and shotguns in the Gun Locker are made from unlocked parts

There are 2 rifles and 2 shotguns in the gun locker. Each one needs different unlockable parts. See "Gun Collector" for all parts of the gun.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/D6A.jpgGun Collectorhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_gold.pngUnlocked all custom gun parts in the game

You need to get A+ for all levels in the Career Mode to unlock all the custom parts. This is not hard and it has nothing to do with accuracy. It only depends on how many points you get in each level. The custom gun parts that you need for rifles are 30 Receivers, 4 Stocks, 7 Barrels, 4 Scopes, and 2 Brakes. For shotguns you need 4 Receivers, 4 Stocks, 2 Barrels, and 2 Chokes. Then the last thing you need is 5 paints.

Before you start Career Mode, you should go into the gun locker and customize your rifle. To customize your rifle, change the color or any parts on it. Then play through the Career and this will come naturally.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/449.jpgObjective Orientedhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.pngCompleted 3 collected objectives in Online Matches

There are objectives that pop up every so often and all you need is to complete 3 of them. They are cumulative, so you don't have to do them all in one game. See "Perk Expert" for a method to boost this trophy by yourself.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/70E.jpgMarksmanhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.pngFinished an Online Match with at least 70% Accuracy

Just shoot a few small game animals, don't miss and just run around until the match is over and the trophy will be yours. See "Perk Expert" for a method to boost this trophy by yourself.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/681/E5B.jpgPerk Experthttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_gold.pngUsed at least 8 different Perks against opponents in an Online Match

You get perks by shooting small game animals and you can carry 4 at one time. You can only use the RED perks against your opponents. Just keep using them against each one as often as you can and you should have them done in no time.

Method To Boost Online By Yourself

  1. Go to the PlayStation Network tab in the main menu and press :cross:.
  2. Go to Host Match tab and press :cross:.
  3. Just select the map of your choice.
  4. # of players to 4.
  5. A.I. Bots to enabled.
  6. Vitals to enabled.
  7. Perks to enabled.
  8. Private slots to 3, this way no randoms can join in on your game, its just you and the 3 A.I. Bots making getting the trophies a lot easier.

I appreciate the effort you put into this but find it somewhat lacking as a guide. Here's my problems (reasons).

Shooting Galleries Expert: No where does it mention what scores are needed to get the gold (or silver or bronze medals). In the first "hunt" Silver is someting past 19,000 (no idea what gold is) and in the second "hunt" 40,000+ is only silver. No way I'm going to continue trying this without some idea what I have to shoot for. Better tactics to get the needed scores would also be appreciated.

Perk Expert: While I found I could get all but one online perk using ONE bot, the four different perks was the most time consuming, however, I've gotten and used at least 10 (8 needed so it and you say) red perks against 1 AI (bot) player the trophy won't pop. I also tried with 2 bots and 3 bots (total with me 4) with no better luck. A clearer explaination of how to get this trophy would be appreciated.

At this point I seriously doubt the 4-6 hours to platinum (or 6-8 for that matter) as these two alone seem like an eternity of trying without luck, especially when your guide leaves one in the dark about scores needed and the wording about 8 different perks leaves it open to be 8 different perks in ONE 10 minute hunt. I won't say impossible but right now it looks very bleak to me. So, thanks for the guide but try to fill it out a bit more so it really is a guide, rather than a frustration (not to mention the seriouos lack of instruction by the game itself).

Thanks for the tips on the prairie dog hunt, the shotty made it happen pretty quick - now that's a guide. :)

Also, since an A+ is needed in all sections of the career mode "hunts" it would be great to know what scores are needed here as well, without that you're just shooting for, something and 1,600 is enough in one while 3,600 isn't in another.

Hats off to you in any event as you've got more than anywhere else I could find... Be great if you could fill in the blanks, thanks.

For the shooting gallery at the top of the screen it says how far away you are from gold. Perk expert you cant use the same on the same person it has to be someone different. For A+ on all missions I dont know how many points you need. I dont have the game anymore, I can re rent it and check it out if you like.

for the shooting gallery this is the points i got

1st-33k

2nd-72k

3rd-62k

4th-53k

i got gold with these numbers, but i was over by a few thousand on some of them from what i saw.

also would like to add that u can get A+ on the missions on the easier difficulty and youll still get the gun parts. i missed a couple on my first playthrough on hard. so i just went back on the easier difficulty and got them real easy. i didnt see this anywhere in your guide and i thought it was worth a mention.

Yeah I'd appreciate having ALL the info needed to get the platinum along with clear "directions" as this is a guide.

BTW, did you get the Platinum?

Also, I still don't understand the perk expert explanation. You say: Perk expert you cant use the same on the same person it has to be someone different.

I've NO idea what you are trying to say. I said I used 1, 2 and 3 AI players plus me. I handed out red perks to up to 3 players, at least 10 different red perks. You can't hand the same perk to the same "person" if you use 10 different perks. At least for 10 of the perks. Supposedly all I need is 8 different perks used against different players, does this mean 8 different players with each one getting a different red perk OR is it ok for one player to get all 8 or 2 players to get 4 each? Also, I handed em out in more than 1 hunt. Don't think it's possible to get 8 different red perks and hand em out in one hunt, impossible if each perk has to go to a different player. This is tedium. When I went online there was ONE other player there who was either asleep or away. So AI players HAVE to be used. WTF?

Again, I appreciate your effort, thanks.

I just got this trophy with two A's and the rest A+'s. So you don't need A+ on every hunt. Just thought I'd point that out because it says four places at least that you must get A+ in every level in career and you don't. Also it's not just points earned that will net you an A+ result, it's objectives completed. You can get 7000 points in the second level (Pennsylvania Early Fall) and still not get an A+. You need to complete the objectives for that map. (i.e. Kill 2 whitetail, get 2 long range kills, etc...)

Nice guide. I still need Film expert to get my platinum and I can send this bugger back.

@ AceWalkin: For the "Perk Expert" trophy, you can do it with just you and one other AI bot. You have to make sure that you are using eight different perks. This can be a pain because you'll often find yourself getting the same perk over and over again. The best way to do this is to kill nothing but small game and constantly pick up and use your red perks against your opponent. You should also use your green perks just so they don't eat up slots.

@ Dangles: Overall I think you've got a solid guide. I say there's room for improvement, but nothing to sweat over. I do have one thing to add regarding the albino trophy:

I believe you can only hunt an albino animal when you're at level 5 for the big game trophy. So, the easiest way to do it is when you reach level 5 on the first level. Once you do that, keep restarting the level until the albino shows up. Do NOT complete the level because you'll have to bring it all the way back up to level 5 before the albino will start appearing again. I did this and the albino showed up around the fourth or fifth restart.

I have a recommendation for the Exterminator trophy. It says you cannot use the shotgun for one of the levels but I was able to use the shotgun for all levels with no problems.

For that specific level, the rifle works better as the Prairie dogs are further away but the shotgun is still permitted.

Also I got BOTH Player Hater (B) and Perk Expert (G) playing against 1 bot and using 10 different perks...it CAN be only one person. I think it's best playing against 1 person as well due to the fact you won't have perks used on you and there's only one bot to compete with.

I also agree with Cauchy's previous post on the albino animals. I did the 30 hunts, encountered 2 albinos and both were Level 5. I have 2 regions on B+ so I'll improve them tomorrow to A's and see if it unlocks the trophy.

PLEASE ANSWER THIS:

Does this have to be in only ONE hunt (10 minutes) or can it be accumulated over a number of 10 minute hunts? So if I use 1 AI and toss red perks at him does the trophy pop only if I get to find and use 8 different perks in one single 10 minute hunt OR does it pop after I use 8 different perks in a number of hunts (1 AI)? Can't seem to get an answer to this...?

And so on:

Seems it almost has to be a single hunt as I've done more than 8 different red perks against AI players already making this very difficult as getting 8 different red perks in 10 minutes is rather daunting. I may decide to BAG this platinum hunt along with cabela's games. That'll learn 'em (lol). Tedium isn't fun and in my opinion is anti-gaming.
