Walkthrough:

Step 1 - Story Mode

Complete the Story Mode, picking up all collectibles along the way. The collectibles in this game are deer antlers, and there are 39 scattered throughout the game – refer to ‘Collector’ below for a written locations guide. You must find all of the skulls in order to unlock the remaining Shooting Gallery & Maneater levels.

You also want to work towards killing some trophy animals in this stage. Trophy animals are unique creatures, only found at certain points in the game - refer to ‘In Father’s Memory’ for a written locations guide. They are generally found in inaccessible areas, and will need to be shot from a distance. You must kill ten trophy animals throughout the campaign in order to unlock ‘In Father’s Memory’ (B). If you don’t unlock this during the Story Mode, you can earn additional trophy kills through Mission Select.

You can also go for 'Just Like a Pro' (G) on this playthrough, if you like. If not, you will be required to complete a second playthrough.

Focus on the following trophies during Story Mode:

(S) Collector

(S) Unlocker

(B) In Father’s Memory

(B) Bullet-man

(B) Ambulance-man

(B) Gunsmith

(S) Survived!

(G) Just Like a Pro *Missable.*

(B) Scratchless (Chapter 4 - Respect Your Prey)

(B) They Call Me Long Barrel (Chapter 4 - Respect Your Prey)

(B) Who Needs Glasses? (Chapter 4 - Respect Your Prey)

(S) Brave or Crazy? (Chapter 5 - Keep Moving)

(B) Newton’s Apple (Chapter 5 - Keep Moving)

(B) Stealth Approach (Chapter 9 - Just Run)

(B) Eagle Eye (Chapter 12 -Stay Alive)

The following trophies should be earned through normal gameplay. However, these can be unlocked at any point:

(B) Always Fresh

(S) Two Birds, One Stone

(B) Hunter’s Quality

(B) Heavy Breather

(B) Dodge This

(B) Primary Target: Alpha

Step 2 - Shooting Galleries

Complete all shooting galleries on both Arcade Plus & Reflex Plus modes. Doing so will earn you ‘Gallery Addict’ (G).

These are basically ‘on rails’ arcade-style games. There are ten shooting galleries - 5 Arcade Plus & 5 Reflex Plus - in total, and each one takes less than five minutes to complete.

In Arcade Plus, you are required to hit a certain points goal in order to proceed to the next checkpoint. While playing Arcade Plus mode, be sure to take the Dangerous Path at every opportunity. This will minimize the amount of replays needed. Selecting every Dangerous Path will unlock 'Dare-devil' (B).

During this phase, you should unlock:

(B) Dare-devil

(B) Hunter of Hunters

(B) Now We’re Even

(B) Combo Wizard

(B) Flawless Victory

In Reflex Plus, you are given a list of animals to kill during each checkpoint. You must kill each animal on the list to proceed forward. After killing all targets, you enter a Free Shooting mode for a short period of time. Killing all animals in the correct order earns you a points bonus, additional Free Shooting time, and a brand new trophy: ‘Reflex Master’ (S).

During this phase, you should unlock:

(S) Reflex Master

(B) Overtime

(B) Run Piggie, Run!

Step 3 - Maneater

Play and complete Maneater, Cabela's version of horde mode. There are seven Maneater levels in total.

You will be bombarded by wave after wave of vicious predators. Each wave will have a simple side mission; some are optional, some are required. If the side mission has a time limit, you must complete it in order to continue.

You must survive all ten rounds on each of the seven Maneater maps. Doing so will unlock 'Eater of Maneaters' (G).

During this phase, you should unlock:

(G) Eater of Maneaters

(S) Steel Hunter

(B) Locked and Loaded

(S) Untouchable

(B) Sub Zero

(B) Booom!

(B) Got Your Back

(B) Repeating Fun

(B) Double Fun

(B) Semi-Automatic Fun

(B) Adrenaline Junkie

(B) Abyss

(B) Hair Away from Death

Step 4 - Clean Up

Miss any trophies along the way? Visit Mission Select, finish mopping up, and earn that (P).

Side Note:

There was recently a patch released for this game, which I downloaded after obtaining the (P). It was a whopping 800 MB in size, but I did not notice any differences in the game; same campaign missions, same galleries, and same Maneater levels.

I am not sure what changes were made, or how this patch affected the game. No information could be found online.

Feel free to bypass this patch if you want to save yourself some time and/or bandwidth.

Complete the Story Mode.

Simply start the game and complete the Story Mode. This should only take between 4-6 hours, depending on your skill level. There are no difficulty settings for this game.

There are a total of 14 Chapters in the game:

1. Take the Shot

2. Sandstorm

3. Dry River

4. Respect Your Prey

5. Keep Moving

6. Up and Out

7. West Face

8. High Jungle

9. Just Run

10. Out Cold

11. This is My Hunt

12. Stay Alive

13. Showdown

14. Make a Stand

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/FFB.jpg Just Like a Pro (G)

Complete the Story Mode without dying once or restarting checkpoints.*Missable.*

Just like it says... play the full Story Mode, don't die, and don't restart any checkpoints. If you die at any point, quit the game via the XMB menu, and then reload your last checkpoint. This will prevent the game from recording your death. If you die, and just hit 'Continue', then you will have to complete a second playthrough to obtain this trophy.

If you do miss this on your first attempt, it's really not a big deal. You can do a speed run of this game in about 2-3 hours. Just sprint through the entire game, only killing when you have to. You can skip entire sections of the game by simply running to the next checkpoint.

Tips:

- Remember to dodge anytime you're in immediate danger. This sideways roll can get you out of even the toughest situations. Roll & Shoot is a great strategy when facing larger groups of enemies. You can also reload while rolling: Just hit :square: to reload, then quickly tap :l2: or :r2: to roll.

- Use Killer Instinct, if needed. If you're feeling overwhelmed, simply run away. The enemies will chase you, but Killer Instinct will activate any time they attack from behind. This gives you an easy opportunity to quickly eliminate each attacker. *Note: Sometimes, only an '!' will appear on the screen. If this happens, quickly dodge to avoid the attack.*

- The auto-aim/lock-on feature in this game works great. Even while using the rifle, it is very easy to 'quick scope' enemies for easy kills.

- There is a ridiculous amount of ammo & health kits in this game. Make sure to use this to your advantage. Sweep each area for supplies before moving on.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/0E7.jpg Scratchless (B)

Pass any Story Mode level except the Take the Shot level without taking damage.

Replay ‘Respect Your Prey,’ if you don’t get this naturally. You spend most of the mission tracking a moose, and only come under attack at the very end of the level. About 10 wolves will come after you, after the moose has been taken down. Remember to dodge & use Killer Instinct to your advantage.

If you happen to take damage, simply restart the last checkpoint and continue from there. Big thanks to heartagram_62 for the tip.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/E64.jpg Stealth Approach (B)

Pass any Story Mode level using only the crossbow.

The earliest you can complete this trophy is on the mission 'Just Run.' This is also the easiest place to get this. As the title says, 'just run.' You can sprint through almost the entire mission. Avoid the enemies as much as you can, making sure not to kill anything until you have the crossbow. As soon as you reach the ruins, the animals chasing you will disappear.

Once you get inside the ruins, you will eventually hit a dead end. You will have to drop off a ledge on the left side of the screen to continue. Just before jumping down, look down and to the right, and you will see a crossbow leaning against the stone wall. Press :r3: to pick it up.

Make sure to kill at least one enemy with the crossbow, so the game registers that it was used. Keep away from :triangle: to make sure you don’t accidentally change weapons.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/1CA.jpg They Call Me Long Barrel (B)

Hunt an animal from beyond 200 meters with a scope in any Story Mode level.

Note: This and 'Who Needs Glasses?' can be earned in the same location.

To my knowledge, this can only be obtained on 'Respect Your Prey.' I tried to unlock this in every long-distance situation, and this is the only one that actually worked. I recommend doing this after achieving 'Just Like a Pro', as you'll be reloading this checkpoint several times.

After killing two elk with your brother, continue moving forward. A buck will run across your path, and jump over the fence to your right. To your left, there will be a stone wall. Back up against this wall, and track the buck with your scope as he's running away. Just before he enters the forest, click :l3: to hold your breath. Wait until he is just behind the tree line, and then take your shot. Once he's in the forest, you won’t be able to see him, but his vitals will still light up for a couple seconds.

This trophy can be somewhat tricky, and will likely require multiple attempts. If you miss your chance, just reload the checkpoint, and you'll restart right there.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/21C.jpg Eagle Eye (B)

Hunt a bird or bat using a crossbow in any Story Mode level.

This will probably take multiple attempts, as you can't lock on to birds or bats.

I got this on the 'Stay Alive' level. At the beginning of the level, your brother will be in the middle of a large courtyard. Several waves of enemies will begin to attack him. After taking out all enemies, continue along the path, and you will soon enter a cave. Once inside, a large group of bats will come flying directly at you. Wait until you see a few bats bunched together, and then take your shot.

If you miss, reload the last checkpoint, and you should restart nearby.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/5B3.jpg Who Needs Glasses? (B)

Hunt an animal from at least 100 meters, without using the scope in any Story Mode level.

Note: This can be obtained in the same spot as 'They Call Me Long Barrel'.

I recommend doing this after achieving 'Just Like a Pro', as you'll be reloading this checkpoint several times.

Once the buck jumps over the fence, wait for him to start running towards the forest. Once he's about halfway there, start shooting at him. You should be able to kill him just as he reaches the trees.

In my experience, this must be done with the rifle. I killed this same buck at least five times with the pistol, and the trophy never popped. The first time I used the rifle, it unlocked right away. Quickly tap :l1: before each shot to lock onto the target. Just make sure the scope is on its way down before you pull the trigger.

This trophy can be somewhat tricky, and will likely require multiple attempts. If you miss your chance, just reload the checkpoint, and you'll restart right there.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/94F.jpg Dodge This (B)

Dodge an animal attack 30 times in Story Mode.

Easy to get, just hit :l2: or :r2: to dodge whenever any predator is charging at you. Repeat 30 times.

This can be farmed on the same predator, but you'll most likely just get this through normal play.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/C86.jpg Primary Target: Alpha (B)

While holding breath hunt 5 Alpha males in Marksman Opportunity situations in Story Mode.

Another easy trophy that should come over time. During several points in the game, you will be attacked by large mobs of predators. Sometimes, there will be a pack leader, referred to as the Alpha. Taking down the Alpha will cause the remaining enemies to run away in fear.

There will be a short cutscene, and the words 'Marksman Target' will appear on screen when an opportunity is available.

Take aim with your rifle, push :l3: to hold your breath, and then down the target with a shot to the heart or brain. Repeat 5 times.

I got this after killing the moose on the 'Respect Your Prey' mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/AA2.jpg Collector (S)

Pick up all Collectibles in Story Mode.

The collectible items in this game are deer antlers, usually found lying on the ground. The skulls are bleached white, and are fairly easy to spot. There are 39 skulls in total; three on each mission, except for 'Sand Storm,' which has none.

If you miss one, you can pick it up later in Mission Select. Just be sure to finish the mission, or it won't save your collectible.

There is no way to track your collectibles in-game. However, you can go into Mission Select to see how many you've collected on each level. Scroll through the missions, and you’ll see the total number of skulls collected on each (Example: 1/3, 2/3, etc…). This information is displayed in the upper right corner.

I couldn't find any video guides for this trophy, so I recommend that you follow this written guide:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/8FC.jpg In Father's Memory (B)

Hunt 10 different hidden Big Game trophy animals in Story Mode.

You will generally see these hidden animals off in the distance while picking up collectibles, or exploring the environment. If you don't get this on your first playthrough, you can use mission select and just re-kill the same targets. The game should still count these as additional trophy kills. Anytime you down a trophy animal, be sure to finish the mission, or the game might not save this kill.

There is no way to track how many trophy animals you have killed, so I recommend following the guide below from the start.

Here's a written guide, listing the location of several hidden animals:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/4BD.jpg Brave or Crazy? (S)

Use only a pistol to hunt a hippopotamus in the Keep Moving Story Mode level.

At the end of the 'Keep Moving' mission, you will face a charging hippopotamus. Pull out your pistol, and fire away.

When he charges you, remember to dodge with :l2: or :r2:.

It will take a while to bring him down, but this is not difficult at all. The pistol has infinite ammo, so don't worry about how many shots it takes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/AE0.jpg Always Fresh (B)

Don’t empty the whole stamina bar during one Story Mode level.

The stamina bar is only affected by sprinting and dodging. Just keep an eye on your yellow stamina bar in the bottom right corner, and make certain to not completely drain it for one entire mission.

Your character will begin breathing heavily whenever your stamina is getting low, so use this as your cue to stop sprinting.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/2FE.jpg Two Birds, One Stone (S)

Hunt two predators with one shotgun shot in any Story Mode level.

Easy to get while being attacked by wolves or hyena, as they come in packs. Keep dodging until you see 2 or 3 grouped together. One blast from the shotgun should do the trick, if you aim towards the middle of the group.

Note: Birds, bats, and other small game do not count, as they are not considered predators.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/DE2.jpg Newton's Apple (B)

Hunt a predator while it is in a tree in any Story Mode level.

You can first get this trophy on the 'Keep Moving' mission.

As you progress through the mission, you'll reach a scripted point where a stone bridge crumbles beneath you. After falling to the ground, you will immediately be attacked. Kill the enemy, and then slowly move forward. Turn to your right, and you should see a tree-lined path ahead of you. There are a few cheetahs jumping around between these trees that are easy to pick off.

However, there will be plenty of opportunities later on, if you miss it here.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/E42.jpg Hunter's Quality (B)

Shoot 50 animals using Killer Instinct in Story Mode.

Killer Instinct is activated when an animal is attacking from behind. When this happens, a QTE (Quick Time Event) will pop up telling you to press :circle:. After doing so, time will slow, and you will turn around to face the attacker. You will then have about 2-3 seconds to perform a vital kill.

This is easy to farm anytime you're confronted by wolves or hyena. Just run away from the enemies, and the QTE will pop up each time one of them tries to attack you.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/1A2.jpg Gunsmith (B)

Find special ammunition for all firearms in Story Mode.

Special Ammo is weapon specific, and doubles the damage of that particular weapon. The special ammo is found in small black boxes scattered throughout the game. There are multiple locations for each type of ammo, but here's a few that I was able to find:

Pistol – Found on the 'Respect Your Prey' mission. Late in the mission, you will shoot a moose from long distance while atop a small ledge. After downing the moose, walk forward & drop off the ledge. Immediately turn left and you will see it at your feet.

Also found one on 'The West Face'. After exiting the first sawmill, hug the left wall & keep moving forward. You will find the ammo behind two giant stacks of logs.

Rifle - Found on 'The West Face.' After passing through all of the saw mill buildings, you will be heading down a narrow, snow covered path. After walking a little ways, you will come to a ledge. Drop off this ledge & you will immediately face a lone wolf. Kill him, then continue forward about 50 feet. On your right, there will be a small nook in the rock wall. The special ammo is inside of this small recess.

Immediately after this point, you will jump down another 4-5 ledges. There is another special ammo kit on the ground, just after the last drop.

Shotgun - Found on 'The West Face,' immediately after the two Rifle Ammo locations. After you drop down the 4-5 ledges, you will be attacked by several groups of wolves. Continue to follow the normal path, and you should come across this shotgun ammo. It is lying on the ground in the middle of a black pathway, right out in the open. It is located directly next to a health kit.

Crossbow - Found on 'Just Run.' Near the start of this mission, you will come to a fork in the road. Take the left path, heading up a small hill. The special ammo will be located directly across from the first hut, along the right edge of the path.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/839.jpg Bullet-man (B)

Pick up 500 rounds of any ammunition in Story Mode.

This should come naturally, as there are ammo packs everywhere in this game. Anytime you fire a weapon, reload & pick up an ammo pack. There are usually several nearby, no matter where you are.

The pistol has infinite ammo, so it does not count towards this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/C8F.jpg Ambulance-man (B)

Pick up 50 health packs in Story Mode.

This will also come through natural play. There is an excessive amount of health kits scattered throughout each level, so this shouldn't be a problem. Anytime you take any damage, go ahead and grab a health kit to get this trophy out of the way early.

I got both this and 'Bullet-man' within five minutes of each other; both on the 'Up and Out' mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/2BC.jpg Heavy Breather (B)

Shoot 25 predators while holding your breath in Story Mode.

Pull out your rifle, press :l1: to aim with the scope, and then press :l3: to hold your breath. After doing so, take down any predator with a shot to the heart or brain. Repeat 25 times.

Any animal that attacks you is considered a predator. Nonviolent game such as deer, impala, rabbits, birds, etc. do not count.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/ED0.jpg Unlocker (S)

Unlock all unlockable content.

You will earn this trophy by unlocking all Maneater & Shooting Gallery levels. To do so, you must pick up the collectibles scattered throughout the Story Mode.

The final map is unlocked once 26 of the skulls have been collected. However, this trophy will not actually pop until you reach the final level of the Story Mode.

See ‘Collector’ for the collectible locations.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/966.jpg Gallery Addict (G)

Pass all Reflex and Arcade Plus Shooting Gallery levels in single player.

Simply pass all galleries on both Arcade Plus & Reflex Plus modes to obtain this gold trophy. There are five Reflex galleries and five Arcade galleries, each taking less than 5 minutes to complete.

While playing in Arcade Plus mode, I recommend taking the difficult route at every opportunity. That way you can also knock out 'Dare-devil' without having to replay any of the galleries.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/577.jpg Hunter of Hunters (B)

Shoot all predators that you encounter in any Shooting Gallery level in single player.

I recommend the 'African Plains' map for this trophy. Take the easy path, and you will only encounter five predators (all five are cheetahs). You’ll need to shoot fast, as they move very quickly. Once you've played the map a couple of times, you'll know where they're coming from, and should have no problems.

You will see two before the first checkpoint, one before the second checkpoint, and two more just after that.

It helps to have the 2x Damage Multiplier active, as it allows you to one-shot kill each predator. Activate the damage multiplier by landing 10 shots in a row.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/BC0.jpg Now We're Even (B)

During a co-op Shooting Gallery, score within 3500 points of your teammate.

This is the only trophy that requires you to play in split-screen. I recommend doing this on Arcade Plus, as it will be easier to keep the scores close.

Pick any map you please, and begin to play. For the first checkpoint, use controller 1. After passing the first gate, switch off to controller 2. Continue this pattern for the rest of the level. If one player is getting too far ahead in points, immediately switch back to the opposite controller.

Make sure both players finish within 3,500 points of each other to unlock the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/42F.jpg Reflex Master (S)

Win any Reflex Shooting Gallery hunting all animals in order in single player.

Each Reflex Plus Gallery is divided into 6-8 sections. During each section, you will be given a list of animals to kill. You must kill all assigned animals in order - going from left to right - throughout one entire gallery.

I recommend 'The Swamp' for this trophy, as the targets are all easy to hit (warthogs, deer, alligators, & birds). The kill patterns for this level are also easier to remember, in my opinion.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/7A2.jpg Combo Wizard (B)

In Single Player Arcade Plus, keep the 2x Damage Hunter Award from the first checkpoint to the end.

In order to get the 2x Damage Hunter Award, you must land 10 shots in a row. It doesn't matter if they are kill shots, you just have to make contact with an enemy. If you miss a shot, then you will lose the damage bonus.

As you land shots, a blue circle will begin to form around your crosshairs. Once the circle is complete, this means the damage multiplier is active. Make sure the circle remains intact for the entire mission.

You need to earn this damage multiplier before passing the first gate, and keep it until the end of the gallery. This means you cannot miss another shot after you pass the first gate.

I recommend doing this on Bear Meadows. There are around 100 targets before you even reach the first gate, so you'll have plenty of time to earn the multiplier. Take the easy path every time, and pick your shots carefully. You want to kill just enough enemies to open the next gate, and then stop firing. This way, you don't risk missing on an unnecessary shot. There is such a large amount of targets in this gallery, that you should have no problem hitting the points goal before each checkpoint.

There are only five enemies that will charge at you while taking the easy path: two mountain lions & three bears. Don't worry about shooting the mountain lions, as they do minimal damage. However, you will need to kill the bears, as they pose a greater threat. Two blasts from the shotgun or three rifle shots will take down a bear (with the damage multiplier active).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/EA0.jpg Overtime (B)

Get at least 10000 points in Free Shooting phases of any Reflex Plus gallery in single player.

After taking down all assigned targets, you will enter Free Shooting for a short period. During this phase, shoot any animals you see, except for the female deer (doing so subtracts 1,000 points from your score).

Near the beginning, each Free Shooting kill will only earn you a small amount of points. However, as you get closer to the end of the gallery, the points value on each animal skyrockets. During the final round, it is common to get 10,000-15,000 points off just ONE animal, so this should not give you any trouble.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/EF9.jpg Flawless Victory (B)

Finish any Shooting Gallery level without losing any health in single player.

This can be done in both Arcade Plus and Reflex Plus modes.

I did this on the Namibia Gallery in Arcade Plus. Just take the easy path each time to reduce your risk of being attacked.

On this first level, there are only two enemies that pose a threat: one lion right around the middle of the gallery, and a rhino at the very end. These should be the only animals that charge at you. Just make sure to take them down, and the trophy is yours.

Make sure you meet the requirements to pass each checkpoint. If you don't hit the points goal (Arcade Plus) or kill all assigned animals (Reflex Plus), you will be sent back to the previous checkpoint. Each time you fail to pass a checkpoint, you will lose a small amount of health, negating the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/841.jpg Dare-devil (B)

Take all the dangerous paths in all Arcade Plus levels in single player.

After almost every checkpoint, you will be given two options: the Easy Path or the Dangerous Path.

When offered a choice, always select the Dangerous Path. As soon as the two signs pop up, shoot the red one to choose the Dangerous Path.

You must do so every time, on all five Arcade Plus galleries to unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/D13.jpg Run Piggie, Run! (B)

Shoot 75 warthogs in Reflex Plus galleries in single player.

This is cumulative through multiple plays.

The 'Burning Savannah' and 'Red Dusk' galleries both feature warthogs. Just keep re-playing one of these maps if you don't earn this naturally.

The trophy will pop as soon as you reach 75 kills in total.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/26A.jpg Steel Hunter (S)

Complete 10 rounds in Maneater in single player.

Survive all ten rounds on any Maneater map to unlock this trophy.

Note: See 'Eater of Maneaters' for tips.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/60B.jpg Eater of Maneaters (G)

Pass all first seven Maneater levels in single player.

The description is somewhat confusing, but you have to beat Round 10 on all seven Maneater maps to unlock this trophy. This might seem difficult at first, but once you complete a few rounds, you'll get the hang of things.

Here are a few tips:

- You will be given an objective at the beginning of each round. Some of these are optional (find the key, delivering the TNT crate), while others are required (repair the radios, protect the injured civilian, kill the two marked targets). If the side quest has a time limit, then it must be completed. If you fail to do so, the game will end, and you will have to start over from Round 1.

- Use the crossbow as much as possible in the early rounds, and stockpile special ammo for the rifle & shotgun. Most special ammo kits respawn at the end of each round, and your supply carries over to the next round. The special ammo comes in handy during the later rounds, when enemies are coming for you ten at a time.

- Remember to constantly be on the move. Dodge is your best friend during the later rounds. This sideways roll can get you out of even the toughest situations.

- Most ammo & health kits also respawn at the end of each round, so use the down time wisely and restock your supplies.

- Use Killer Instinct to your advantage, if needed. If you're feeling overwhelmed, simply run away. The enemies will chase you, but Killer Instinct should activate any time they attack from behind. This gives you an easy opportunity to quickly eliminate each attacker. Note: Sometimes, only an '!' will appear on the screen. If this happens, quickly dodge to avoid the attack.

- The auto-aim/lock-on feature in this game works great. Even while using the rifle, it is very easy to 'quick scope' enemies for easy kills.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/D8A.jpg Locked and Loaded (B)

In Maneater single player, collect 25 special ammunition boxes (repeated play needed).

As it says, this is cumulative & will require multiple plays.

Special ammo comes in a small black box, and is usually found tucked in corners, up against walls, or sometimes revealed after detonating a TNT crate. All special ammo types (rifle, pistol, shotgun, and crossbow) are available on each Maneater gallery; you just have to know where to look. Make sure to move around a lot and explore the environment.

These also respawn at the end of each round, so if you find a special ammo location, run over and pick one up after each round.

This should come naturally while going for the other Maneater trophies.

Pass round 1 to 5 of any Maneater level in single player without receiving a single hit.

You must beat the first five rounds of any Maneater level, without ever being touched by any animal. By far, the hardest trophy in the game. This alone took me at least an hour to unlock.

I recommend that you attempt this on the 'Overwatch' gallery. It is a long and narrow map, which allows you to see most enemies from a distance.

From the start point, turn around 180 degrees and run forward until you’re by a big stone wall - this will be your camping spot. Turn back towards the start point and begin firing. From here, enemies will come primarily from the front, occasionally from the right side, and rarely from the left side. Since your back is to a wall, no enemy will be able to attack you from behind.

There is a special ammo kit for the rifle in this location, which respawns at the start of each round. There is also a special ammo kit for the shotgun in the middle of the map, which you can sprint to in-between rounds.

Or you can try this strategy from heartagram_62:

For the "Untouchable" trophy, I found the best method was to camp at the special rifle ammo corner on the snowfall map. From mission start if you go ahead and to the left, get settled in the corner and the game will only use a couple of spawn points over to your left making it easy to cover all angles. This method worked for me the first time I got a run with no repair the radios sections. This is also a good place for 'I Got Your Back" as the guy spawns right in front of you.

Try to keep one of your middle fingers on either :l2: or :r2: so you can quickly dodge when needed. If you find yourself surrounded, continually dodge, and gradually back away as you can. The enemies should eventually spread out a bit, giving you time to take some shots.

Also, remember that tapping :circle: will automatically focus you on the nearest enemy. This comes in handy if you're not sure which direction the attackers are coming from.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/716.jpg Sub Zero (B)

Freeze 20 animals by shooting away ice floes in Breakthrough Maneater level in single player.

On the 'Breakthrough' gallery, you will be playing on top of a frozen lake. Certain parts of the lake will appear cracked.

Try to lead enemies over the cracks, and then shoot out the cracked ice beneath them. This will create a hole in the surface, and the attacker should fall into the ice cold water. Kill 20 animals this way to unlock.

You can get this in one play, if you survive past round 4-5. This trophy is cumulative.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/06D.jpg Booom! (B)

In Maneater single player, blow up 10 TNT crates.

While playing Maneater, a case of TNT will occasionally spawn at the beginning of a round.

Pick up these crates by pressing :r3:, and then carry them to the marked location. Press :r3: again to drop the TNT in place, and then run away.

Sometimes the crate will automatically detonate, while other times you will have to shoot the crate. Make sure you are out of the ‘Blast Zone’ to avoid taking damage.

Once the TNT explodes, it will reveal hidden health kits, ammo, and special ammo. Repeat 10 times.

Replay 'Overwatch' if you don't attain this naturally; this mission has 3-4 TNT crates available. This trophy is cumulative.

Note: The ‘Overwatch’ map also starts off with a TNT crate every time. Simply start playing the first round, and deliver the TNT crate. Wait for the TNT to detonate, then allow the enemies to kill you. Make sure that you are killed by animals, not the TNT explosion. Restart the level, and repeat this process until you have blown up ten crates. The game will save each TNT crate you detonate, even if you die right afterwards. Thanks again to heartagram_62 for pointing this out.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/038.jpg Got Your Back (B)

In Maneater single player, protect an injured friend so that no predator attacks them.

While playing Maneater, each round will have a certain objective. Eventually, you will be asked to protect an injured friend who is lying on the ground. Simply kill all enemies before they are able to attack your friend.

Most of the animals will automatically go for him, unless you shoot them first. Even if you don't kill them, shooting them will usually turn their attention towards you, instead of the injured man.

I recommend using the Semi-Auto Rifle as your weapon upgrade, as you'll need to shoot very quickly. Also, try to stock up on special ammo for the rifle & shotgun in the early rounds. These allow you to one-shot kill most of the attackers.

Keep your distance from the injured man. If you’re standing right beside him, you’ll be spinning in circles the entire time, trying to locate enemies. If you stand back 25 yards or so, you can scan the entire area, and easily spot enemies coming from all directions.

Probably easiest to achieve on the 'Overwatch' map, as it is fairly open, and pretty easy to see what's coming. However, I actually unlocked this while playing on 'Arena', in the back section (after you go through the tunnel). If the injured man spawns in this back section, walk all the way over to the edge of the cliff, and face towards the ruins. From here, you should be able to see the enemies coming through the tunnel, and can also see the enemies dropping down from the roof. I had plenty of time to kill all enemies before they were even close to my buddy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/0AB.jpg Repeating Fun (B)

Finish one Maneater level in single player only using the repeating crossbow.

Before starting any Maneater level, select the Repeating Crossbow as your weapon upgrade. You only actually have to complete one round, not the entire level. Just make sure you only use the crossbow during at least one round.

I got this while playing on 'Trap Door'. I only made it to Round 3 on my first try, and the trophy popped right after I died.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/A64.jpg Double Fun (B)

Hunt 25 elite animals with the double barrel shotgun in single player Maneater levels.

Start any Maneater level, and select the Double Barrel shotgun as your upgrade. Use only the shotgun to take down 25 elite animals.

As far as I can tell, only the male/black lions count as 'elite'. The announcer will usually say something like “Elite enemies approaching” when they're on the way.

This trophy is cumulative, and will require multiple plays.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/01F.jpg Semi-Automatic Fun (B)

Shoot 3 animals in 5 seconds with the semi-auto rifle in single player Maneater.

Note: See 'Adrenaline Junkie'. These two trophies can be obtained at the same time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/0C0.jpg Adrenaline Junkie (B)

Hunt 5 predators in less than 5 seconds in single player.

Very easy to get this trophy on the 'Breakthrough' level. Choose the Semi-Auto Rifle for your weapon upgrade before starting.

You will encounter several large groups of wolves & mountain lions during this mission. Wait until you see a group of 5 enemies, then lock on with auto aim ('quick scope') and quickly take down all five.

I got this while defending the injured civilian. At least 4-5 large groups will show up while you're covering him, making it a great time to go for both this trophy & 'Semi-Automatic Fun'.

Note: This is fairly easy with just standard ammunition, but special ammo makes it a breeze.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/F3A.jpg Abyss (B)

Hunt 20 animals by opening the trapdoor in the Trap Door Maneater level in single player.

There are six buttons that activate the trap door: three around the trap itself, and three more on the upper platform that surrounds the trap. However, the upper platform buttons are pretty much useless. If you’re on the upper deck, the animals come up with you, avoiding the trap on their way.

Try to lure enemies near the trap, then stand on one of the six pressure pads to drop them in.

This trophy is cumulative over multiple plays.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/A47.jpg Hair Away from Death (B)

With less than 5% health, hunt an attacking predator that is less than 2 meters away in single player.

This can be obtained in either Maneater or Story Mode. But you’ll probably want to try this in Mission Select, if you're going for 'Just Like a Pro' on your first playthrough.

It's easiest to obtain this trophy while being attacked by wolves or hyena, as they are quick and only deal small amounts of damage. Just stand still, and let them maul you until your health is down to about 25%.

At this point, kill all but one of the enemies. Keep taking damage until you're down to just a shred of health.

Wait until the attacker is charging, and then take them down with the shotgun as soon as they jump at you.

Note: The enemy must be attacking, and they must be less than 2 meters away. If they are walking/facing away when you shoot, the trophy will not unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1713/326.jpgPlatinum Trophy (P)

Unlock all other trophies.

Congratulations!

Looking good mate, this is on my next to play list, if that giant patch does nothing important then I may skip it and save the bandwidth.

EDIT: Might be mentioning in the guide the for "Sratchless", you can use the restart checkpoint option if you do get hit. Makes this trophy a damn sight less annoying.

EDIT: If I were you I would take out "The Swamp" from the trophy " Run Piggie Run" as there are no Warthogs in that level.

EDIT: For the "Boom" trophy you can use Overwatch as the first stage has a TNT crate everytime, plant it, let it blow up and allow yourself to be killed by the predators, not the TNT. This way the game saves your progress and it saves you playing until later rounds for a second and third to appear.

EDIT: For the "Untouchable" trophy, I found the best method was to camp at the special rifle ammo corner on the snowfall map.

Well I just got the plat and I have to say, what a fucking terrible game. I have enjoyed all the other cabela games over the years but this is not a hunting game any more. It's a cheap and tacky horde/swarm mode game with yet another recycled story line that is so reminiscent of other cabela games.

Thanks again for the input... guide has been updated to include this info.

If anyone else has any tips, just PM me or post a response here. I'll try to update the guide as needed.

When trying to get Repeating Fun trophy, I think you have to only use the repeating crossbow through the entire match. You don't have to finish all ten rounds, but you need to use only the crossbow until you die, which can be as early as round two, if you like. I tried to go through the first round with only crossbow and then switch to regular weapons and it didn't unlock no matter what round I stopped on.

Hey man, great guide! I used all those tips and it def. made it easier to platinum this game. Only problem I had was the "In Father's Memory" trophy, I read what you guys posted in the other thread and to me it seems a little glitchy or we mistaken some animals/trophies as being the "hidden big game trophies" we need :p But anywho, got the platinum for this game, in which IMO was horrible comparing to the previous Cabela's games. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Who Needs Glasses?

Hunt an animal from at least 100 meters, without using the scope in any Story Mode level.

The trophy guide says it must be done with no-scoping the rifle. I did it with a pistol. I was trying for about 20 minutes using just the rifle and kept missing, so I was like, hmm, maybe I'll try the pistol. Luckily it worked!

Now just need to beat the galleries and maneater for the platinum! :)

Having trouble with Now We're Even. Any tips?

Hey sorry for the delay. Havent been online in a while. Not sure if you still need help, but here's some tips...

You should be able to do it in either Arcade or Reflex. So if youre having trouble, try the other mode. Might work better for you.

I personally got it on Arcade Plus, because it seemed easier to keep the scores close on that mode.

Only kill enough animals to open the next gate, dont just kill everything you see. Better to keep the scores as low as possible.

Keep an eye on your scores & just keep alternating controllers every 2000 points or so. I just swapped after each checkpoint, and that seemed to work pretty well.

Hope this helps.

I just have to get the untouchable trophy. I've tried many times without success. I always end up giving after dodging, because I'm clueless and game camera does not help. The round of repairing radios is complicated, almost impossible to complete it without taking damage, what percentage is there that does not leave in the first 5 rounds?

Thanks.

the patch has added more special ammo and health/ammo packs. judging by you guide on where to find the pistol ammo, I found it three times before your location. so the patch may be helpful after all. in my opinion it may get you the trophy for picking up special ammo faster, and you may have more opportunities if you miss the ones stated in the guide.
