Introduction:

Borderlands 2 is the FPS/RPG sequel to the smash hit and multi-GOTY-winning game Borderlands, that was released in 2009. Like the original it is set on the planet of Pandora; a world that consists primarily of frozen tundras and barren deserts, with little-to-no vegetation or welcoming denizens to be found. The story of Borderlands 2 centers around four new Vault Hunters named Axton, Maya, Salvador and Zer0, and their mission to kill Handsome Jack—a dictatorial, psychotic CEO of the Hyperion Corporation—for his countless wrongdoings to the inhabitants of Pandora, and beyond.

Walkthrough:

In Borderlands 2 you have the ability to revisit every location in the game, battle every boss as many times as you want (including side mission bosses once you’ve reached them), and are never locked out a side mission. This allows you to be very flexible with how you approach your characters, the side missions, co-op, and the main story. However, the pacing of the game and which areas you can visit is dictated by which story mission you are on. New side missions and areas are made available only after you complete specific story missions. This limits how much you can do and will drive you to continue the story.

It is possible to skip ahead in the story at any time by joining a friends game. You can unlock trophies while playing with them and any progress you make in side missions can carry over to your single player save. You will simply be prompted when you return to your own game as to whether or not you want to apply that progress to your current game. If you opt out of it you will be able to complete the mission a second time.

In order to unlock the platinum you will be required to play the game—at least for a while—on True Vault Hunter Mode (TVHM), which is this game’s version of New Game+. This mode is unlocked only after you have completed the story once all the way through. You can freely switch between Normal Mode and TVHM by pressing :triangle: at the main menu, then choosing the character you want to play with that has already completed the game. Load their save and you will be asked by the game which mode you want to play on. You can (and should) go back and play on the Normal Mode to clean up challenges, side missions, and random trophies due to the ease of it.

In TVHM you start the game from the very beginning, but with a catch: all of the enemies are now 31+ and are universally stronger than before. You will encounter creatures with names and abilities that you never saw in your first playthrough, in addition to item types and affixes that can’t be found in the Normal Mode. All of the story and side missions have the same goals, but the things that you fight while doing them will be different.

At the end of your first playthrough you will be no lower than level 30 and no higher than level 36. This means that you will need to play on TVHM for at least another ~20 levels in order to unlock the Capped Out...For Now trophy. If you completed every possible side mission available during your first playthrough, you will be the latter level and have much less work ahead of you. Because monsters are more difficult, the side missions will take more effort in the TVHM, so it is ideal to do all of the side missions on your first playthrough. Doing it that way will also net you all of the explorer trophies in your first playthrough as well.

After hitting level 50 you will be able to finally kill Terramorphous and upon doing so will finish off the Did It All trophy—if and only if you completed all of the prior side missions before then. If you did not complete them you should go clean them up on Normal Mode for absolute speed and efficiency, or, if you do not care about speed and just want loot, do them on TVHM.

The absolute fastest way to unlock the platinum in this game is to complete as much of the content as possible on your first playthrough. Doing so will allow you to focus entirely on leveling to 50, the challenges (AKA the bulk of the work), and the class specific trophies.

Step 1 (optional)

Find a boosting partner and create a character of your choice.

(If you are opposed to boosting for trophies then please see this link for the non-boosting roadmap.)

As of right now it is possible to power level a character from 1-30 in twenty minutes flat, or 1-50 in roughly an hour, using the Tiny Tina Power Level Trick. Here is a video of it being performed:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytzxUeoGOMI]Borderlands 2 - Fastest Leveling Trick (Tiny Tina) - YouTube[/ame]

To do it you must find someone that is currently on or near the side mission “You Are Cordially Invited: RSVP” on TVHM, that also wants to boost some levels or just help you out. Check in the Co-Op Partners thread for assistance.

Once you have secured a partner, join their game and begin the leveling process. You will go from level 1-10 in under a minute and hit 30 around twenty minutes in (this may vary depending on the level your partner is and how well he is geared). Flesh-Stick will reward 5000-5800 experience per kill (varies by quest level) up until level 35, which is when the experience starts to gradually decline. If you and your partner are willing to do so you should reach level 44 before you stop. At level 43 he will still give you 1896 experience per kill, but thereafter it drops sharply to 711 at 44 and then 236 at 45.

If your partner is willing you should get other characters out of the way now as well. At the very least do Axton and Maya to ~12 each (if you didn’t choose either as your main character), which takes about 2 minutes of their time, per character. When you are completely finished power leveling proceed to step 2.

Step 2

Beat the game and do all side missions.

Now that you are at least level 30+ you will be able to obliterate everything in your path in single player. This will allow you to easily complete all of the side and story missions in one playthrough. The best strategy is to complete every single side mission before moving on to the current story mission, unless you have missions that you can complete in the same area as the story mission; in which case you should do them simultaneously for optimal efficiency.

For a full list of side missions please refer to this post: Borderlands 2 - Complete Side Missions List

While you are doing your initial playthrough you should also pay close attention to the challenges. Try and make as much progress towards as many of non-level-specific challenges (see Challenge Accepted for further explanation) as possible, without making the game too tedious for you to enjoy. The more progress you can make with them to start with, the more time you will save in the long run when you are forced to grind them out for the Challenge Accepted trophy.

Other things you should try and do on this step:

  • Get as many point blank shotguns kills as possible (you need 750)
  • Get as many splash damage rocket kills as possible (you need 200, splash damage is a non-direct hit kill)
  • Be on the lookout for Chubby monsters (see Cute Loot).
  • Always reveal the entire map before moving on to a new area.
  • Open every single chest/box/etc. you see whenever Hyperion enemies are around (Loaders/Engineers/Constructs).
  • Save purple items until you can replace it with another purple item of the same slot.
  • Never sell, drop or pass up a purple relic; Ever.

Step 3

Reach level 50

Skip step if you are already 50.

Now that you have beaten the game and have all but one side mission complete you should finish leveling. Rather than starting from the very beginning of the game on TVHM—which would reward virtually no experience for a very long time—just jump into someone else’s game. If you use the matchmaking system you can find someone that is very high level and play with them all the way to 50. You can also look in the Co-Op Partners thread for people that are trying to accomplish this as well.

Step 4

Explorer Trophies

By completing all of the side missions already you will have revealed virtually all of the named locations in the game.It is very likely that you have even unlocked most, if not all of the explorer trophies by now. If you have then proceed to Step 5. If you have not then refer to the Exploration Trophy Category in this trophy guide for assistance.

Step 5

Class Specific Trophies

The class specific trophies are all extremely easy due to the power leveling method. In all you will need a level 5+ Axton and Maya, a level 31 Zer0, and a level 21+ Salvador to complete all four trophies. If possible you should repeat the power leveling method again for any that you did not do the first time around. Their respective class trophies are:

  • Axton - Sabre Rattler
  • Maya - Phased and Confused
  • Salvador - So Much Blood!
  • Zer0 - Unseen Predator

Please refer to their individual guides to to discover the best method of unlocking them.

Step 6

Miscellaneous Trophy Cleanup

By now you should have completed all of the explorer, class specific, leveling, and story related trophies. The only three difficult trophies that should remain are Challenge Accepted and Thresher Thashed (as well as Did It All, but the final mission is connected to Thresher Thrashed). In addition to these you should have some or all of the following:

  • Cute Loot
  • Donkey Mong
  • Up High, Down Low
  • What Does It Mean?
  • Feels Like The First Time
  • Definitely An Italian Plumber
  • High Flying Hurler
  • Goliath, Meet David
  • Decked Out

Once all of these are completed and the only remaining trophy is Challenge Accepted, you can move on to the seventh and final step.

Step 7

Challenge Accepted Cleanup

In order to unlock the Challenge Accepted trophy you will have to complete the level 1 of all non-level-specific challenges. If the challenge is listed in a location category—such as Frostburn Canyon or Sanctuary for example—then it is a level-specific challenge and is not applicable. There are a total of 114 challenges in the game, a number of which do not appear in the challenge list until you perform certain tasks in the game like kill X enemy or equip Y grenade type.

The most difficult of the challenges to complete are the those that require you to complete level 5 of a challenge, just to make a new challenge appear in the list. The level 5 prerequisite challenges are as follows:

  • Shotgun Sniper: Kill 10 enemies from long range with shotguns
    • LVL 5 Challenge Prerequisite - Open Wide!

[*]Catch a Rocket: Kill 5 enemies with direct rocket hits

    • LVL 5 Challenge Prerequisite - Splish Splash

For a complete walkthrough of this trophy be sure to refer to its respective guide.

In order to break through the first line of defense you need to obtain an upgrade for Claptrap from the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve.

Once you have acquired the upgrade make your way back to Claptrap in Sanctuary. After that head over to the Crimson Headquarters and speak with Roland to unlock the trophy.

After you get there you will be initiated by defeating several waves of bandits. Once you win you will give the letter Roland gave you to the Slab King and destroy some Hyperions that attack.

When you arrive you will have to fight your way through a gauntlet of Hyperion robots and engineers to reach the peak, where a bridge will lead you to the bunker tower. If you have explored all of the Highlands, Wildlife Preserve, and eastern portions of Thousand Cuts, the Highland Explorer trophy will pop as soon as you reach the bunker bridge.

Once inside the bunker you will have two separate boss battles. After the second one you will be teleported back to Sanctuary. Go and speak with Mordecai to complete the mission and unlock the trophy.

Head over to the Sawtooth Cauldron and get some explosives to help clear the way.

Once you have collected the explosives, fast travel back to Eridium Blight and make your way to the sealed off bridge to the south east. The Slab buzzards will clear the bridge and allow you to cross.

Travel to the Arid Nexus, turn around, and turn in the quest at the depot to unlock the trophy.

[spoiler=15]

This is the fifteenth story mission you will receive in the game. Before you proceed it is a good idea to also pick up the “This Just In” side quest from Mordecai, located in the Sanctuary. There are also a ton of armored robots here so be sure to bring corrosive weapons.

Now that you have access to the Arid Nexus, you can finally go to the Hyperion Info Station. Destroy the pump leading to the Arid Badlands by increasing the pressure at the three Eridium Pump stations. Once you do you can traverse it leave the Arid Nexus Boneyard. Fight your way through Fyrestone and defeat the boss to reach the second tier of the level.

Once you reach the end of the overpass you will fight a Badass Construct that is blocking the way to the station. Defeat it and you will be able to enter the station which will also explore it. This will coincide with the trophy unlock for “Blight Explorer” if you had previously explored all of the Eridium Blight, Arid Nexus, and Sawtooth Cauldron.

Make your way to the top of the tower and access the data terminal. This will trigger two more Badass Constructs that you will have to clear. Dispatch them then retrieve the map information on the Warrior.

Travel back to the Sanctuary and turn in the mission to Mordecai to unlock the trophy.

Defeated Jack

This is a story related trophy that will unlock by simply beating the game. For additional information with potential spoilers, read the detailed description below.

[spoiler=16]

Unlike the previous story related trophies, this trophy is awarded for defeating a boss rather than completing the associated side mission. During the 16th (and final) story mission, “The Talon of God”, you will have to assault the Hero’s Pass area which is accessed in the Eridium Blight. In it is the location of the Warrior that Jack is trying to awaken.

Once you reach the Hero’s Pass you will have to fight your way through a ton of Hyperion robots and engineers. Eventually you will come to the Vault of the Warrior. After you enter you will find Jack and Lilith just moments away from summoning the Warrior. You will then fight Jack and he will encase himself in an Eridium shield at the center of the platform. He then summons the Warrior that you have to dispatch.

When the Warrior dies the Eridium shield will collapse. Jack will then start to ramble on and on about his current situation. If you listen long enough to him Lilith will kill him, or you can outright shoot him at any time. Once he is finally dead the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/EAB.jpg Sabre Rattler (B)

Killed 100 enemies with the Sabre Turret

The Sabre turret is the class action skill for Axton, the Commando class, that is unlocked at level 5. The damage dealt by the turret scales based on the level of Axton and can be improved with class mods, relics, and additional skills. In order for the kill to count towards the trophy the Sabre turret must get the kill shot on the enemy. If you plan on playing as the Commando for any length of time this trophy will unlock naturally over time. However, if you just want to get it out of the way for the sake of the trophy, read on.

The fastest way to unlock this trophy is to use the Tiny Tina Power Leveling trick to almost instantly hit level 12+. By doing that you will the appropriate level you have a lot of options for how to go about unlocking the trophy.

The second easiest method is to join a game where the player has the "Rock, Paper, Genocide: Fire Weapons!" mission available. Head to the gun range, start the mission, and weaken the target with a non-fire weapon. Once it is near death throw out your turret as close to the target as possible. It will kill the target over and over again. Repeat the process until the trophy unlocks. This is also a really great way to grind the “Pay the bills...” challenge.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/390.jpg Phased and Confused (B)

Phaselocked 100 enemies

Phaselock is the class action skill for Maya, the Siren, that you unlock once you reach level five. When used it suspends an enemy the air, rendering them unable to act. Despite what the description might imply you do not need to Phaselock 100 different enemies, just successfully use it 100 total times. Period. This means that you can unlock it simply by using it on one target, over and over again. If you plan on playing as the Siren for any length of time this trophy will unlock naturally over time. However, if you just want to get it out of the way for the sake of the trophy, read on.

The fastest way to unlock this trophy with a brand new Maya is to do the Tiny Tina leveling trick to hit level 10+ in under a minute. Once you do you can leave and start with the Phaselock grinding or stay and finish off some more levels.

Now that you have the skill all you have to do is start a new game and find a Monglet. When you do just shoot it once and walk backwards until he starts to throw snowballs at you. Shoot them out of the air and Phaselock him every time the skill is off of the cooldown. Doing it with this method will allow you to unlock rank 5 of the "Hurly Burly" challenge (161 easy Badass rank for all 5 levels), as well as the Phased and Confused trophy.

If for whatever reason the Monglets are not cooperating with you, head west of the town until you run into some Bullymong Hurlers. They will always try to throw objects at you whenever possible.

Please watch the video below to see the trick being performed:

Gunzerked continuously for 90 seconds

Gunzerker is the class action skill for Salvador, the Gunzerker class. You unlock the skill at level 5, but to actually gunzerk for additional time you must reach level 21 and learn the skill "Yipeee Ki Yay"—which increases the duration of Gunzerker for every enemy killed—in the Rampage skill tree. If you are already level 23 or higher just skip the next paragraph entirely.

At level 21 with one skill point in Yipee Ki Yay, every kill will increase the Gunzerker duration by 0.6 seconds. However, if you use a class mod that has +skill to Yipee Ki Yay you do not need to go beyond level 21 to unlock the trophy. So if you find a class mod that has the +skill while leveling your Gunzerker or any other character, and is also level 21 or lower, be sure to save it. If you do not find one before level 21 just go to Sanctuary and look in the Medical vending machines at Zed's office and in front of Marcus' gun store until one is for sale. You can also refer to the Trading Thread to see if someone has a spare.

Once you have the class mod (or are level 23+) you can head down to Marcus' store and begin the mission "Rock, Paper, Genocide: Fire Weapons!" (LVL 9). If you have already completed the mission you will have to join the game of someone that hasn't done it yet. It becomes available the moment you reach Sanctuary for the first time, so it's pretty easy to hop in a game with someone that needs to do it still. You can refer to the Co-Op Partners thread for help as well.

The mission requires you to kill some enemies with fire elemental weapons: do not use a fire elemental weapon otherwise he won't respawn. Use any type of weapon that isn't fire type. Explosives and slag are especially good if you use them together.

Ideally you should equip your most powerful *non-rocket launcher weapons* (they do not regenerate ammo), then hop on the counter and Gunzerk in front of the enemy. Aim for the head and kill him as fast as possible. You can actually kill him before he emerges from the shadow, which is what you should try to do. The closer he gets to you before he dies, the more time you will waste having to wait for him to return and re emerge.

It may take a few attempts to get right, but it's the easiest method in the entire game and the only way to do it at level 21 by yourself. You can also do it with the Tiny Tina trick if you have someone to help you restart the mission.

Below is a video of where the side mission is located, the build used, the mod used, and the method itself being performed:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqSqFsmI1zw]Borderlands 2 - So Much Blood! (Trophy/Achievement Guide) - YouTube[/ame]

Important note: The trophy will not unlock until after Gunzerker has ended. Because of this do not worry that you haven’t gone beyond the 90 second threshold simply because the trophy has not appeared yet. It is best to go kill as long as you can or until you are absolutely certain it has been longer than 90 seconds.

Remained in Zero’s deception mode for ten seconds straight

Deception mode is the class action skill for Zer0, the Assassin class, that is unlocked at level 5. When activated it creates a holographic image of Zer0 and turns Zer0 himself invisible. It lasts 5 seconds by default, but can be extended using the skill "Many Must Fall" in the Bloodshed skill tree—which increases the duration of Deception by 2 seconds per enemy killed, requiring you to kill five enemies within two seconds of one another. However, to get the skill you must first hit level 31.

You do not need to play the game up to level 31 using only skills in the Bloodshed tree, due to the ability to respec at any time by using a Quick-Change station. One is located just outside of the Fast Travel station at Sanctuary.

Once you have respecced and have the "Many Must Fall" skill, fast travel to Southpaw Steam and Power, or walk there from Three Horn’s Valley if you have not discovered it yet. This is an excellent place to unlock the trophy because the enemies are very low level, aggressive, and spawn in a large pack very close to the entrance.

Simply walk in to the middle of the first group of enemies and let them group up on you. **Be sure to NOT have a shield on that does damage to attackers, otherwise you risk killing them before you can activate the skill**. When they are all close by activate Deception mode with :l2: and melee them as fast as possible with :rs:. Sprint to each one if necessary and don't stop until they are all dead.

Shortly after Deception mode ends the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/012.jpg Goliath, Meet David (B)

Allowed a Goliath to level up four times before killing him

Throughout Pandora you will come across several enemies named Goliath. They are hulking Bandits that wear a flaming skull helmet at low levels and various metal ones at higher levels. When you shoot them in the head their helmet/head comes off and they become a "Raging Goliath".

When they are raging they attack any creature that is near them—be it friend or foe. When the Goliath kills a target it gains experience and eventually levels up. When it levels it becomes stronger, gains a level, and a new name. The name/level increase goes as follows:

  • 1 Level - Badass Goliath
  • 2 Levels - Super Badass Goliath
  • 3 Levels - Ultimate Badass Goliath
  • 4 Levels - Fatal GOD-liath

Once you see he has leveled up four times, or has the Fatal GOD-liath name, you can kill him to unlock the trophy.

The video below shows the first location in the game that you can encounter a Goliath, which is in the Frostburn Canyon. It a level 10+ area so it is best to wait until at least then to attempt this. Ideally you should follow a similar path as shown in the video, in order to avoid getting the Goliath killed before he finishes leveling. You can assist him in leveling by weakening the monsters he is fighting, but he must get the killing blow in order to gain the experience.

Please watch the video to see the exact location and method used to unlock the trophy:

Got an item from Michael Mamaril

Once you enter the Sanctuary you will be able to seek out a character named Michael Mamaril. When you speak with him he will greet you and generously offer you a free item. Take it from his hand and the trophy will unlock. He can appear during the day or night and has ten possible spawn locations.

There are times that Michael will go on a hiatus and stop appearing. The first time this occurs after you complete the mission "Sky's The Limit". From there on out he will only be able to spawn in a few locations instead of the original ten. The mission is half way through the game so you have plenty of time to get it done before then. After you beat the game he will return to his regular cycle.

Please see the video below for all ten locations:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/3B9.jpg Build Buster (B)

Killed a Constructor without it ever building another bot

When you engage a Constructor it will attack you with various weaponry, then after a short while build a Hyperion robot after a short while, and commence attacking you again. If you do not manage to kill it fast enough it will build yet another robot and will continue this cycle until it is killed. In order to unlock the trophy you must kill it before it can build a second a single robot.

The first chance you have to kill a Constructor is on the sixth story mission called “A Damn Fine Rescue”. The easiest to get to Constructor in the game is located in the Living Legend Plaza, in Opportunity (refer to the Urban Explorer trophy for the exact location). It appears after clearing out the Engineers and Loaders. However, there are a number of other places that they can be found throughout the game (in the order they first appear):

  • The Highlands - Hyperion Overbridge: Accquisition Center
  • Bloodshot Ramparts
  • Opportunity
  • Thousand Cuts - Hyperion Expansion
  • Arid Nexus Badlands - Hyperion Info Station
  • Ore Chasm - Rounds 3/4/5.
  • Hero’s Pass

Please watch the video below to see the location of the lowest level Constructor that is easily accessible:

To see the full route you take to get to the area shown above, please refer to the video in the What Does It Mean trophy guide.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/A72.jpg What Does It Mean? (B)

I can’t even capture it on my camera

To unlock this trophy you must go to The highlands - Hyperion Bridge fast travel point, then make your way to the Aggregate Accquisitions location to the North East. If you look on your map it is just above the Catch-a-Ride station and the Highlands - Outwash exit.

The entrance is blockaded so you can't drive in with a vehicle. There are two turrets and two flying surveyors guarding it. Simply kill your way through the area, following the path shown in the video. Once you reach the top and the area is clear, drop down from the ledge onto the small abandoned tent. Once you do either Claptrap or Jack will start talking and you can see a double rainbow appear off into the distance.

Look at the rainbow and wait for the trophy to unlock.

Please see the video below to see the exact location of the tent:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/129.jpg High Flying Hurler (B)

Killed a flying enemy with a thrown Tediore weapon

Tediore weapons are a brand of weapons that you can find throughout Pandora. However, unlike other brands such as DAHL, Jakobs, Maliwan, and so on that use ammunition clips when reloading, Tediore weapons are discarded and explode when reloaded. The explosion does damage in a small blast radius, similar to a grenade. Furthermore, the more rounds that are left in the gun when it is reloaded, the more damage the explosion will do.

The first chance you have to unlock this trophy is in the Southern Shelf, just west of where you first meet Sir Hammerlock for the first time. Out in the middle of an open ice area are a few Rakks—large flying bat-like creatures—that you can easily get the trophy on.

Simply walk into a group of the Rakk with your Tediore weapon equipped and fire off one shot into the sky. When the Rakk lets out a screech it will begin to dive directly down at you. When it is very near, almost within melee range, aim at it and press :square: to reload your weapon. This will cause you to throw your weapon at it as though you were tossing a grenade.

Side note: If you kill a flying enemy during a Phaselock it will not count towards the trophy. (Credit to Dark_Phantom_89 for discovering this)

Please see the video below for how and where to unlock this trophy:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/39E.jpg Up High, Down Low (B)

Give Claptrap a high five

Once you reach the Sanctuary you will be given a mission called "Plan B". Complete it then head to the North West corner of the map to find Claptrap. Speak with him and accept the "Claptrap's Secret Stash" mission.

Turn in the mission to claptrap then wait for the :triangle: button to appear when you have your crosshairs on him, with the words "Gimme Five!" next to it. Press the button then walk up very close and melee (:rs:) the hand he raises. When done correctly Claptrap will say "That's what I'm talking about!" and do a little dance. The trophy will unlock shortly thereafter.

If you happen to already be beyond this mission and didn't do the high five, you can initiate the high five again as many times as you wish after you complete the final mission of the game. You can also do it when you are about to turn in the Wildlife Preserve mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/869.jpg Went Five Rounds (B)

Completed Round 5 of any Circle of Slaughter

There are two Circle of Slaughter locations that can be found in the game, with an additional one offered as pre-order DLC. The first of which is the Bandit Slaughter in Fink’s Slaughterhouse. You can get to it by fast traveling to The Fridge and walking directly across to it. The area becomes available as soon as you enter the area during the "Bright Lights Flying City" mission—granting you access to the Bandit Slaughter and its subsequent side missions. If you successfully complete all five waves the trophy will unlock. You do not have to do all five rounds in one sitting and you don’t restart from round 1 if you fail any of the later rounds.

The second Circle of Slaughter is the Hyperion Slaughter located in Ore Chasm. It becomes available after you complete the “Data Mining” story mission and can only be accessed by traveling through Eridium Blight. The first two rounds are level 30 and the following three are level 31. The final round is seven waves long and spawns a large amount of Badass Loaders, Badass Constructors and Badass Surveyors. In general it is much more difficult than the Bandit Slaughter.

The easiest way to unlock this trophy is to invite a high level player to help you clear it. If you are unable to find someone simply postpone doing either Circle of Slaughter until you are much higher level and can backtrack on Normal Mode.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/2D4.jpg Definitely An Italian Plumber (B)

Killed Donkey Mong

Donkey Mong is a rare Bullymong that only spawns in the Eridium Blight area. He can spawn at one of three Bullymong spawn encampments that are spread throughout the area. To see the exact spawn locations please refer to this map. His primary defining characteristic are the barrels he carries with him, and throws when he fights. He is in no way connected to King Mong, although they spawn in the same exact location.

To find him simply drive around the rocky areas of Eridium Blight. He can't spawn in the Northernmost parts of the map where the Bandits are, so you never need to go over there. If you don't see him in a group of Bullymongs, or jump out of the wall when you pass by, you can move on to the next area; killing them will not cause him to spawn.

While you are searching it is also wise to be on the lookout for a creature called a Chubby Bullymong or a Chubby Rakk. Killing a monster with either name will unlock the Cute Loot trophy. Chubby monsters are just a rare spawn type of regular monster—similar to a Badass type but it has a plump appearance and are exponentially rarer.

Please see the videos below for two of the three locations you can find Donkey Mong:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/F9F.jpg Cute Loot (B)

Killed a Chubby

Important note: If you are in a co-op match you must personally be the one to get the killing blow to unlock the trophy. So if you see one in a random room do your best to get the kill shot as fast as possible. However, if you are with friends definitely make it clear that you need it and to not kill it. If someone that already has the trophy gets the kill it will be wasted on them.

A Chubby is not a unique breed of monsters. It is simply an affix of a monster, like Badass, Slagged, Poisonous, etc. The difference between a Chubby and all other monster types is that they are very, very, very rare. Rakks, Varkids, Spiderants, Bullymongs, Threshers, and Stalkers can all spawn as a “Chubby”. The name will appear as a “Chubby Rakk” or “Chubby Bullymong” when you put your reticule over them.

There is no trick for making a Chubby appear. They can spawn in dungeon areas like Caustic Caverns, as well as all the open areas like Eridium Blight, Three Horns, etc. Repeating the save/quit farming method at any given monster spawn in the hopes of getting one to appear, definitely can take a while and be disheartening. You could literally spend hours resetting one spot and never see one. In order to ease the process you should only perform it in areas where a large number of creatures (not humanoids) spawn near the load point. These locations include:

  • Caustic Caverns - most popular location
  • Tundra Express - farmhouse has the most Varkids
  • Arid Nexus Badlands - skags to the right and left
  • Wildlife Preserve Creature Dome - many, many creatures results in a high chance of seeing one

The best way to go about avoiding a long grind for this trophy, is to be very observant at all times during your first full playthrough. Don’t simply drive through areas without looking at the creatures you pass by. At the very least try and glance at each one to see if they are a Chubby as you are traveling. Spotting one at random will save you a lot of time and frustration in the long run.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/F11.jpg Feels Like The First Time (B)

Opened the chest at the bus stop in Fyrestone

During the second to last mission in the game, called "Data Mining" , you will make your way to the Arid Nexus Badlands. Once you arrive there you will have to walk through the city of Fyrestone to get to your objective.

You will then come to an open area with a lone building directly to the right of the underpass. Head over to the building and walk up the steps. Jump on the railing and then to the next building. Turn around and you will see a piece of metal protruding from the building. Jump on to it and then on top of the roof.

Now that you are on the roof just open the loot chest and the trophy will unlock.

You can also just be in a game where someone opens the chest to still receive credit towards this trophy. (Credit to Terminator for pointing this out)

See the video below for the exact location of the chest and how to reach it:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/799.jpg Decked Out (B)

Had Purple-rated gear or better equipped in every slot

In Borderlands 2 there are a total of six tiers of loot quality. They are, in ascending order:

  • White - Common
  • Green - Uncommon
  • Blue - Rare
  • Purple - Very Rare
  • Magenta - Very Rare E-Tech (Eridium Alien Weaponry)
  • Orange - Legendary

In order to unlock the trophy you must equip a purple or higher quality item in every equipment slot—of which there are eight—at the same time. The item slots are:

  • 4 Weapon Slots
  • 1 Shield
  • 1 Class Mod
  • 1 Grenade Mod
  • 1 Relic

Purple equipment is typically very sparse until you start reaching 15+. It most frequently drops from Bosses, Badass monsters, Chubby creatures, rare spawns (King Mong, Donkey Mong, “Loot” titled creatures), large loot chests (vehicle trunks, Dahl chests, etc.) and max leveled Goliaths. You can reliably farm chests and bosses due to the fact they respawn whenever you save/quit out of the game. Some areas, such as Fyrestone in the Arid Nexus Badlands, have multiple chests and a boss that you can repeatedly farm for good loot. There are actually four large chests and a boss within a short distance of one another in Fyrestone, so it is an ideal location to farm purple quality gear.

The most difficult aspect of this trophy is the purple relic. It is by far the rarest type of item in the game, even more so than most legendary items. It is not uncommon to play through the entire game once or even twice and not see a purple relic drop. To put this in perspective I found three legendary items in 1 ½ playthroughs, but not a single purple relic.

It does not matter what level the items are as long as they are all purple quality or better. You can be level 50 and have on all level 10 purple items and still unlock the trophy. So if you are concerned about not unlocking the trophy due to the lack of purple quality gear, save them in your bank, stash, or other characters until you are ready to do the trophy.

Last, but not least, you can always trade for purple quality gear with other players. Be sure to make use of the Trading Thread to help you find the item(s) you are missing.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/0AA.jpg Friendship Rules (B)

Revived someone from “Fight For Your Life!” that is on your friends list

After your shield and health is depleted you are put into the “Fight For Your Life!” state. Players in your game can then walk up to you and hold down :square: to revive you. The easiest way to unlock this trophy is to invite one of your friends that is playing Borderlands 2 to the game, or add someone using the Co-Op Partners thread. After they join have them throw grenades at their own feet and/or rockets until they are downed. Then walk up to them and revive them for the trophy to unlock.

While you are at it you should do it an additional four more times to unlock the first rank of the “This Is No Time For Lazy!” challenge, as it is required for the Challenge Accepted trophy. Each revive will also earn you 100 EXP.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/158.jpg Better Than Money (B)

Purchased 5 items from the black market

During the “Plan B” story mission in Sanctuary, you will be asked to obtain a fuel cell from Crazy Earl at the Black Market. It is located just east of the Fast Travel station—right above Moxxi’s bar on the map—in a building with a large purple “Hostel” sign. Go to the door and access it to open the Black Market shop.

The Black Market sells a total of nine different Storage Deck Upgrades (SDU’s) that can increase the storage capacity of various items. The names of the SDU’s and their functions are as follows:

  1. Backpack SDU: Permanently increase the number of items you can carry in your backpack by 3.
  2. Bank SDU: Permanently increase the amount of items you can store in the Bank by 2.
  3. Assault Rifle SDU: Permanently increase the amount of assault Rife Ammo you can carry by 140.
  4. Grenade SDU: Permanently increase the number of Grenades you can carry by 1.
  5. Pistol SDU: Permanently increases the amount of Pistol ammo you can carry by 100.
  6. Launcher SDU: Permanently increases the amount of Launcher ammo you can carry by 3.
  7. Shotgun SDU: Permanently increases the amount of Shotgun shells you can carry by 20.
  8. SMG SDU: Permanently increases the amount of SMG ammo you can carry by 180.
  9. Sniper SDU: Permanently increases the amount of Sniper Rifle ammo you can carry by 15.

Each one upgrade 4 Eridium which can be found off of enemies, in chests/boxes, and as mission rewards. Scooter gives you a stack of 4 once you start the the “Plan B” mission, which means you must obtain 16 more to buy the four additional items required for this trophy. You can purchase multiple of the same type of SDU or a combination and still unlock the trophy. Such as 2 backpacks, 2 banks, and 1 assault rifle, or even five one type if you have the Eridium or the patience.

The easiest ways to farm Eridium are from leveled up Goliath’s, Moxxi’s slot machine, Super Badass monsters, and bosses. When a Goliath has leveled up 3 or more times it will frequently drop 2 Eridium when it dies, in addition to other very good items.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/18B.jpg Token Gesture (B)

Redeemed 25 Tokens

The tokens that are referred to in this trophy are called Badass Tokens. You earn them by earning Badass Ranks for various Badass Challenges (See Challenge Accepted). You can spend them on one of fourteen different types of stat bonuses, each of which apply to every character that you create. The Badass Stat Bonuses are:

  • Critical Hit Damage
  • Elemental Effect Chance
  • Elemental Effect Damage
  • Fire Rate
  • Grenade Damage
  • Gun Accuracy
  • Gun Damage
  • Maximum Health
  • Melee Damage
  • Recoil Reduction
  • Reload Speed
  • Shield Capacity
  • Shield Recharge Delay
  • Shield Recharge Rate

To see how many tokens you have as well as the list of challenges, press :select: and go to “Badass Rank” tab on the far right. Once you are there you will be able to see how many Badass Rank points you have accumulated, how close you are to earning your next token, and how many tokens you have left to redeem (if any), and the Badass Stat Bonuses that you have unlocked using tokens.

How fast you amass 25 tokens will depend on a number of factors; the class you play, your general play style, and if you play alone or in co-op. If you go out of your way to explore every nook and cranny of a map, do side missions, and/or farm monsters you will earn tokens much faster than someone that just rushes through the main story. Furthermore, if you play co-op you will rank up in kill challenges much faster than not. This makes estimating when and where you will unlock the trophy somewhat difficult. Generally speaking you will be between levels 10 and 15, but it’s possible to get it much earlier. You can also save the tokens until you have a general idea of what you want to spend them on, so don’t feel rushed to burn through them.

Important notes:

- You can disable the bonus stats at any time by going to the Badass Rank tab and pressing :triangle:

- The rate at which you earn tokens will decrease as your rank total increases. Requiring substantially more and more rank points per token.

- The stat bonuses start at 1% per token and decline thereafter.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/978.jpg How Do I Look? (B)

Unlocked 10 customization items

Customization items are items that allow you to change the appearance of your character and vehicles, at Quick-Change or Catch-a-Ride stations. You can find them in vending machines, off of monsters, as mission rewards, challenge rewards, in chests and trash piles, and just about any other place besides money and ammo boxes. They aren’t extremely common but you should have no problem finding ten through normal gameplay alone.

Once you find one you must press :select: and go to the Inventory tab. Move over to your Backpack and scroll down until you see the customization item that looks somewhat like an Echo Drive. Select it with :cross: and you will automatically unlock it. After doing this with ten different customization items (you can’t unlock the same one twice), the trophy will unlock. Just remember to always pick them up and unlock them whenever you see them, because they also count towards some of the loot challenges.

There are three categories of customization skins in all: vehicle, head, and body. Within those subsets are head/body for each class, and one for each family of vehicle. There are hundreds of different customization items in the game to find and unlock, so be on the lookout.

Reached level 50

Currently there are only 50 total levels in Borderlands 2, although the name of the trophy implies that there will be more in the future. It is possible to reach level 50 without ever having completed the entire game. To do so you simply use the Tiny Tina Power Leveling Trick—as seen in the video below—then join a higher level player in a co-op match until you are capped out. You can go from 1-50 using the Tiny Tina mission in roughly a hour. In general this method is exponentially faster than playing regularly and can easily shave off 20+ hours from your platinum time if done correctly.

Please see the video below to learn how to do the power leveling trick:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytzxUeoGOMI]Borderlands 2 - Fastest Leveling Trick (Tiny Tina) - YouTube[/ame]

If you are opposed to the boosting method then please see the spoiler below:

[spoiler=18]To reach the level cap you must first complete the game once and then continue on True Vault Hunter Mode. It is impossible to reach the level cap on your first playthrough (Normal Mode), due to the fact that enemies start to reward single digit EXP after you are much higher than them, and the highest level enemy you can fight is in its mid 30’s. If you complete every possible side mission in your first playthrough you will finish somewhere between level 33 and 36. This leaves roughly 15 levels between you and the trophy.

The fastest way to hit level 50 without boosting is to join the room of a much higher level player and have them farm bosses and complete missions. If you have a +EXP relic be sure to equip it. The higher the level of the player you join, the faster you will level. Even the very first missions on True Vault Hunter Mode reward 10-20k experience each, which is an astronomical amount at lower levels. Not to mention that Badass enemies give 4k+ EXP per. Level up to around 15 or 20 and then go back to your own game and commence playing on the regular story. You will be able to breeze through the initial content and shave off a good deal of time from your first playthrough due to decreased difficulty.

After you have completed your first playthrough immediately start on True Vault Hunter Mode. Play through the story missions as fast as possible and do cleanup on the side missions only if things start to become difficult. The faster you can get to the higher level quests and enemies via the story missions, the better. As soon as you reach level 48 you can start farming bosses for experience all the way to level 50.

Tipped Moxxi $10,000

After reaching Sanctuary you can make your way to Moxxi's bar in the eastern part of the city. Sitting on the bar is a tip jar that you can put $100 or $1000 into at a time. Walk up and deposit $1000 ten times and the trophy will unlock.

If you do not want to waste the money you can simply quit to the XMB as soon as you see the trophy unlock . After you do so you can go back and continue playing from your last save, without ever having spent the money.

Discovered all named locations in Three Horns, Tundra Express, and Frostburn Canyon

Despite what the description says you will need to have Three Horns Divide, Three Horns Valley, Tundra Express and Frostburn Canyon fully revealed to unlock this. There are substantially more unnamed areas than not which causes confusion.

You will be able to access the final area of this trophy during the seventh story mission, “A Train To Catch”. If you have discovered all of the previous sections in Frostburn Canyon and Three Horns Divide/Valley, you can unlock Arctic Explorer before you return to Sanctuary to finish the mission. You do not need to go into The Fridge for it to unlock.

You will be able to access the final area of this trophy during the twelfth story mission, “The Man That Would Be Jack”. If you have discovered all of the previous sections in Sanctuary and and Lynchwood, you can unlock Urban Explorer before you return to Sanctuary to finish the mission.

Lynchwood has seven side missions that you can access prior to heading to Opportunity. However, they are all high level ones with really difficult enemies, which makes it the most difficult area in the game that you can access to at that time. If you are not at least two or three levels higher than the mission level, it is ideal to simply wait to clear Lynchwood.

If you have discovered all of the previous sections in The Highlands and and Wildlife Preservation, prior to heading to Thousand Cuts with Claptrap, you can unlock Highlands Explorer just as you reach the bridge to the bunker. If you have discovered all of the previous sections in Eridium Blight and Sawtooth Cauldron prior to heading to the Ariid Nexus - Badlands, you will unlock the trophy upon reaching the Hyperion Info Station, located just above Fyrestone and looks like a giant tower. There are also a few areas you must explore within the Badlands to unlock it, one of which is only accessible through a side mission that you can obtain from the Fyrestone jobs board.

Discovered all named locations

Please click here for additional revealed maps and locations.

The description of this trophy is somewhat misleading. It states that you must discover all of the named locations throughout Pandora, but what is actually required are two things: all named locations explored and every map fully revealed. By revealed I am referring to no shaded out areas whatsoever on your Echo Map. There are a number of places that do not have names but become revealed after passing over them, so they are both equally important. Furthermore, the final area of the game can’t be visited until you have defeated the final boss, so you are unable to unlock this trophy prior to beating the game.

The best strategy for unlocking this trophy is to first complete the Arctic, Highlands, Urban, and Blight explorer trophies listed above. The reason for this is that once you have them you will be able to safely rule out 12 areas of the map as being fully explored. This leaves you with 18 of areas left to explore.

Seven of them have Fast Travel stations that you can use to quickly get to them. The area you can first access each by traveling through are listed in parentheses. To check the exact time you can access the side missions please refer to this list.

The locations are (minus Claptrap's place):

  • Frostburn Canyon (Three Horn’s Divide)
  • Bloodshot Stronghold (Three Horn’s Valley)
There are at least two areas in Bloodshot Stronghold that you can’t gain access to until you are on the appropriate side or story mission. The mission name, giver, and level are as follows:
    • Splinter Group (Tannis)

    __________________________________

    [*]Caustic Caverns (Sanctuary Hole)

There are at least two areas in Bloodshot Stronghold that you can’t gain access to until you are on the appropriate side or story mission. The mission name, giver, and level are as follows:

    • Minecart Mischief (Echo Drive in Caustic Caverns)
    • The Lost Treasure (Random drop in Sawtooth Cauldron)

    __________________________________

    [*]Southern Shelf

There is at least one areas in the Southern Shelf that you can’t gain access to until you are on the appropriate side or story mission. The mission name, giver, and level are as follows:

    • Shield Favors (Sir Hammerlock)

    __________________________________

[*]Southpaw Steam and Power (Three Horn’s Valley)

There are two areas in the Southpaw Steam and Power that you can’t gain access to until you are on the appropriate side or story mission. The mission name, giver, and level are as follows:

    • No Vacancy (Happy Pig Motel Board in Three Horns Valley)
    • Assassinate the Assassins (Sanctuary Bounty Board)

    __________________________________

    [*]The Fridge (Three Horn’s Valley)

There are three areas in The Fridge that you can’t gain access to until you are on the appropriate side or story mission. The mission name, giver, and level are as follows:

    • The Cold Shoulder (Scooter)
    • Swallowed Whole (Scooter)
    • Note for Self-Person (Echo dropped off of a Goliath)

The remaining 11 areas must be walked or driven to in order to be accessed. The location in parenthesis is the area you must pass through in order to reach it:

  • Bloodshot Ramparts (Bloodshot Stronghold)
  • End of the Line (Tundra Express)
  • Fink’s Slaughterhouse (The Fridge)
  • Friendship Gulag (The Dust)
  • Hero’s Pass (Eridium Blight)
  • Holy Spirits (The Highlands - Overlook)
  • Ore Chasm (Eridium Blight)
  • Sanctuary Hole (Three Horn’s Divide)
  • Southern Shelf Bay (Southern Shelf)
  • The Bunker (Thousand Cuts)
  • Windhsear Waste (Claptrap’s Place)
  • Vault of the Warrior (Hero's Pass) - If you have explored 100% of the previous areas you will unlock the trophy when you enter the Vault of the Warrior, which becomes accessible during the final story mission, "The Talon of God".

It should be noted that there are quite a few locations that are inaccessible for the majority of the game—until you are on the appropriate story or side mission— which is the case with the four other explorer trophies. Because of this it is wise to have all of the side and story missions completed before you really start looking in the aforementioned spots.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/CCB.jpg Well That Was Easy (B)

Completed the mission “Shoot This Guy In The Face”

During the 11th story mission, “The Once and Future Slab” (Level 20), you will have to go to Thousand Cuts to recruit the Slab King. Once you reach the area you will be able to see a quest giver on your map. His name is Face McShooty and he is just off of the main path leading to the Slab King, near the edge of a cliff. Walk up and talk to him and the bandit will give you the “Shoot This Guy In The Face” mission.

The mission is incredibly simple: shoot him in the face. The second you do the trophy will unlock. It’s the easiest and shortest mission in the game.

Please see the video below for his exact location:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/541.jpg Thresher Thrashed (S)

Defeated Terramorphous the Invincible

Terramorphous the Invincible is a gigantic level 52 Thresher, hidden away at Terrormorphous Peak in Thousand Cuts. He is the boss of the final side mission in the game, called “You. Will. Die. (Seriously)” (Level 50), that is automatically given to you upon beating the game. Because of his high level and strength it is virtually impossible to kill prior to level 50. While it is suggested you should do this in a party of four it is entirely doable with just one other person and even solo.

If you are trying to solo Terramorphous your best chance of doing so is by acquiring a legendary shield called "The Bee", and a legendary shotgun called "Critical Conference Call".

The shield is dropped in Arid Nexus Boneyards, off of a guy named Hunter Hellquist at the Hyperion Truth Network. You will be able to access him during the side mission "This Just In", that becomes available during the the "Toil and Trouble" story mission. It is an exceptionally rare shield so be prepared to farm for it. It is important to note that Gearbox developers have already stated it is due for an upcoming nerf (patch that will make it weaker), so enjoy it while it lasts.

The shotgun is found off of The Warrior during "The Talon of God" story mission. Similar to The Bee, it is very rare and can take some effort to get. However there has been no mention of planned nerfs to it.

Completed 20 side missions

See Did It All.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/4E4.jpg Did It All (S)

Completed all side missions

There are a total of 108 side missions in Borderlands 2. The final side mission, “You. Will. Die. (Seriously.)” does not unlock until after you have beaten the game, so do not panic if you have no side missions left to complete at the end of your first playthrough, while the trophy remains locked. The missions become available only after you have progressed beyond certain points in the Main Story, so if you run out of missions to complete just complete your current Story Mission to make more become accessible.

You can track exactly how many side missions you have completed so far by looking at the “Sidejacked” challenge in your Echo Drive, under the Miscellaneous category. However, the challenge only tracks up to the first 90 side missions that you have completed, which will cap out by the time you finish Sawtooth Cauldron—if you have done every side mission up to that point.

None of the side missions are missable, which means that once you have received the mission you can do them at any time you want, in any order you choose. After you beat the game you can even continue on “Normal Mode” and backtrack to all of side mission’s locations, so there is no need to feel rushed if you want to complete the story first. The only really difficult side missions are located in Sawtooth Cauldron, Ore Chasm, Fink’s Slaughterhouse, and just about every mission in Lynchwood.

If you complete all of the side missions as soon as you receive them, you will quickly find yourself out-leveling the Story Mission’s projected levels—making them much easier to complete near the end of the game.

All of the side-missions you complete while in co-op mode are applied to your single player experience, if you choose to allow it. Once you return to your regular game and reach a specific part of the story, you will be prompted with a message to skip missions that you have previously completed. If you say yes the game will save and the mission will now be marked as completed in your Mission Log. Whether you choose to have them marked as completed or not is entirely is up to you, because sometimes completing them yet again can be rewarding in terms of items and experience. It all depends on what you are trying to

accomplish at that given moment.

It has been confirmed that completing some side missions in Normal Mode and the rest in Vault Hunter Mode will not unlock the trophy.

Remember; certain missions will not appear until you have progress in the main story. For a full list of the side missions, their levels, the location you find them, and the side mission giver, please refer to the complete list at the bottom of this thread.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1145/8C0.jpg Challenge Accepted (G)

Completed level 1 of all non-level-specific challenges with a single character

Glitch Warning: If the trophy does not unlock after you have 100% of the level 1 non-level-specific challenges, you will need to complete a new level of any challenge for it to finally appear. If it still doesn't unlock then it isn't glitched, you are just missing something.

There are a total of 114 challenges required for this trophy. To see a full list of them, complete with walkthroughs, please visit the Challenges List and Walkthroughs thread.

Challenges are unique tasks that you can complete for Badass rank points, that in turn earn you Badass Tokens (see Token Gesture for more about them). What the trophy is referring to in regards to “all non-level-specific challenges” are all of the challenges that actually have 5 levels associated with it.

If you press :select: and go over to the Badass Rank tab, you can scroll through the challenges and see that things like “Bully The Bullies” (Kill Bullymongs) and “Sidejacked” (Complete side missions) have five different levels that you can complete. This is very different from the level-specific-challenges, such as those in Frostburn Canyon, that do not have 5 different level tiers to complete. So, in short, to complete this trophy you must unlock the first level rank of every challenge that has levels to begin with.

Many of the challenges will not appear in your challenge list when first starting the game. This is normal. To make some types appear in the list—like kill X enemy type with Y elemental, or shield mod—you will first have to kill them or perform the task at least once before. The same goes for killing certain types of enemies like Loaders, Constructs, and Hyperion Engineers. The only ones that will not appear after reaching a certain point in the game are LVL 5 prerequisite challenges.

The most difficult type of the challenges to are prerequisite challenges. They require you to first complete a level 5 challenge, just to make a new challenge appear in the list. The ones that require a level 5 prerequisite challenges are as follows:

  • Shotgun Sniper: Kill 10 enemies from long range with shotguns
    • LVL 5 Challenge Prerequisite - Open Wide!

[*]Catch a Rocket: Kill 5 enemies with direct rocket hits

    • LVL 5 Challenge Prerequisite - Splish Splash

Aside from the aforementioned prerequisite challenges, there is also a challenge that requires you to kill a rare spawn by the name of Jimmy Jenkins. He is extremely difficult to find so be sure to use this thread for help. Jimmy is a small Hyperion Loader that can only be found by opening boxes in Hyperion controlled areas, such as Opportunity, Wildlife Preserve, Hero's Pass, etc. While it is entirely possible that you can find Jimmy during your first playthrough in any one of these areas, you will most likely need to revisit one of them repeatedly to farm the boxes until he spawns. The rarity of Jimmy and the effort needed to open every box can make this the single most time consuming, tedious, and frustrating part of the game if you are unlucky. It is not uncommon to spend several hours before finding him.

Once all 114 challenges are unlocked on a single character you will have your trophy.

Side missions unlock in waves based upon your current progress in the story, as well as specific side mission. Because of this you will only be able to complete X amount of side missions, per story mission/chapter. The easiest way to keep track of what side missions are upcoming—or what you should already have access to —is by locating the story mission you are currently on in the list below. You will never have side missions beyond that story mission, and every mission that precedes it should be completed or available to you from its designated mission giver.

This list is designed to show side missions grouped by the story mission that you must complete to unlock them. In essence, the first tier is the story mission you must beat. The second tier are the side missions that are then unlocked. While the third tier are additional side missions that require you to beat the connected side mission.

The reason that there are no levels listed with each mission is that the level is not set in stone. It will vary based upon your current level when you unlock it. Furthermore, the level will change yet again when you go to TVHM. Therefore it is best to disregard what level a mission is because it will always be precisely what it should be for your own experience.

Non-Boosting Roadmap

Step 1

Beat the game with Salvador or Zer0.

The reason that this step suggests beating the game with Salvador or Zer0 is to save you time leveling additional characters. The class specific trophy So Much Blood! for Salvador requires you to be no lower than level 21 to unlock it. Conversely, the class specific trophy for Zer0, Unseen Predator, requires you to be a staggering level 30 to unlock it—in essence demanding that you almost clear the entire game just to unlock one bronze trophy. While it is very possible to boost and/or glitch EXP it is easier to just playthrough the game naturally on one of them your first time, rather than have to boost them at a later time. The final two class trophies for Maya and Axton only ask you to reach level 5 in order to complete them, which can be done in a matter of minutes if you join a high level friends game, or less than a hour if you play normally.

While you are doing your initial playthrough you should also pay close attention to the challenges. Try and make as much progress towards as many of non-level-specific (see Challenge Accepted for further explanation) challenges as possible, without making the game too tedious for you to enjoy. The more progress you can make with them to start with, the more time you will save in the long run when you are forced to grind them out for the Challenge Accepted trophy.

Other things you should try and do on this step:

  • Be on the lookout for Chubby monsters (see Cute Loot).
  • Always reveal the entire map before moving on to a new area.
  • Open as many chests/boxes as you can possibly stand, especially in Hyperion areas with Engineers and Loaders.
  • Save purple items until you can replace it with another purple item of the same slot.
  • Never sell, drop, or pass up a purple relic. Ever.
  • Get as many kills while using your action skill as possible.

Step 2

Explorer Trophies and Side Missions

Now that you have beaten the game you should get the five explorer trophies, and whatever remains of the 108 of the side missions out of the way. The only exception here is if you literally skipped the vast majority of the side missions, as in 50% or more of them. The amount of time it would take for you to clear all of the side missions at that point would be better spent reaching level 50, then backtracked and breezed through when you are max level.

Completing a larger number the side missions on Normal Mode, after just completing the game, offers very bad experience and items. Virtually everything you obtain from them—save for the level 28+ missions—will be useless in TVHM and/or instantly replaced. So it is ideal to not even bother with them yet if you have a significant amount left.

Step 3

Reach level 50

If you have very high level friends (45+) or are able to find people to help you in the Co-Op Partners thread, go play with them to gain a few extra levels before jumping into the single player story again. This will give you an edge at the start of the TVHM which can be a little jarring at first, as well as get you some nice items to look forward to. After that you should try and do as many story missions as you can, as fast as you can. The quicker you get to the higher level areas of the game, the faster you will hit level 50.

Step 4

Class Specific Trophies

The two easiest class specific trophies to get are Axton’s Sabre Rattler and Maya’s Phased and Confused. Try and get power leveled to level 5+ for both of them and then refer to their respective guides to unlock them. As for Salvador or Zer0’s that you should have only one remaining to do, try and get power leveled to as high as possible before going to the single player campaign.

Step 5

Miscellaneous Trophy Cleanup

By now you should have completed all of the explorer, class specific, leveling, and story related trophies. The only three difficult trophies that should remain are Challenge Accepted and Thresher Thashed (as well as Did It All, but the final mission is connected to Thresher Thrashed). In addition to these you should have some or all of the following:

  • Cute Loot
  • Donkey Mong
  • Up High, Down Low
  • What Does It Mean?
  • Feels Like The First Time
  • Definitely An Italian Plumber
  • High Flying Hurler
  • Goliath, Meet David
  • Decked Out

Once all of these are completed and the only remaining trophy is Challenge Accepted, you can move on to the sixth and final step.

Step 6

Challenge Grinding

As of now this the most confusing trophy in the game. There are a number of challenges that are unknown to the gaming community and the general criteria for unlocking them, as well as the trophy in general, is one big mystery. What is certain is that certain challenges do not appear until you complete the fifth level of another challenge. This will result in a lot of time grinding out a specific task. As more information becomes readily available about the specifics of this trophy this step will evolve and become fleshed out. But for now it’s best to try and complete as many level 5 challenges as possible, in the off chance that there are an abundance of such hidden challenge prerequisites.

Awesome! You made a great Darksiders 2 guide and we're great about keeping on top of it, was excited that you did a Borderlands one. Cheers.

Thanks man. It's always great to hear things like that. I actually would have had this guide finished earlier but I've been really caught up with video capturing. I wanted to familiarize myself with it on Borderlands 2 so I could get some great captures of the Darksiders 2 DLC today :).

Nice guide wish it have the challeng accepted list because the trophy is way to misleading... having hidden challenges is very annonying....

And the image for the trophy "What does it mean?" is wrong.

Fixed the image. Also I plan on getting rank 5 in every challenge the second I am finished with Argul's Tomb. So expect a comprehensive list in the coming days.

F8L this is just beautiful! I'm just speechless of the amount you put in this. You've surely did your homework on just about everything here.

I didn't see any mistakes at all. Just change the "Did it All" and "Thresher Thrashed" to a silver trophy :)

Fixed and thank you.

Great work dude. Didn't expect you to do this guide. I'm amazed by your work lately. Keep up the good work. :)

Great guide man, i've been seeing you play this shit heavy. I'm glad u clarified that missions dont lock up if u join someone elses game that is farther along than u are cuz i remember missions being locked out in the first game which is why i was too scared to join anyone elses game, but that will definately change now.
