Introduction

Bodycount is the spiritual successor to last generation’s phenomenal first person shooter “Black.” Like Black, Bodycount’s main focus is on the guns. More specifically, the damage the bullets can do to the environment. No cover is safe from destruction in the world of Bodycount.

Bodycount is an arcade style first-person shooter (FPS). Everything in the game is designed to happen quickly and violently. The fast paced gameplay combined with dynamic sound effects, and nearly completely destructible environments result in some of the most intense fire fights found in gaming.

Bodycount spans two very large continents, Africa and Asia. In Africa you’re tasked with stopping the brutal murders and slaughter of African citizens. Ironically you go about your task by brutally murdering and slaughtering thousands of African citizens. What you learn in Africa takes you to Asia where you uncover the truth behind a vast conspiracy.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Play through the single player campaign on “Hard.”

Hard is not the highest difficulty level in Bodycount. The game also has an “impossible” difficulty setting that is not required for the platinum trophy. Hard more is not difficult at all. Your player is a high powered killing machine. In addition to being a bullet sponge he also has access to the overpowered “Operative Support Button” (OSB) system. Properly using the correct OSB ability in any given situation will make a huge difference in whether you die not. All of the OSBs are automatically upgraded during the campaign. Each support is mapped to the d-pad:

 is the adrenaline shot, using it will make you invulnerable for a specified time period.

:right: is for explosive ammo, while active all your ammo does quadruple damage. With this you can kill the most powerful enemies in the game in a few shots.

 calls in an airstrike, airstrikes are linear and have a limited blast radius. They are unavailable in indoor levels and are insignificant in the single player campaign. But in multiplayer they are unmatched.

:left: gives you maximum radar of the area. Upgraded it emits a pulse that can kill some enemies. Overall it’s worthless except for the fact that its required for the final boss.

Using one of the above OSBs will drain intel bar, which can be filled again by killing enemies and picking up the white intel bubbles they drop. In most situations during this game you are in a position where you could easily refill the OSB meter, so you can constantly exploit its abilities to make hard mode easier. For more tips on hard mode see the trophy description for (G)Warmonger.

Beating the game on hard will net you all three difficulty trophies: (B)Easy-peasy, (S)Bullet dodger, and (G)Warmonger. In this playthrough you are also guaranteed: (B)Welcome to Africa – Tutorial, (B)Wind of change, (S)A very bad feeling, (S)Wishing this was Vegas, (S)You FTW, (G)Sleep when I’m Dead, (B)Finger on the pulse, (B)Lighting their fire, (B)Bullet Repellent, and (B)Planes and Flames.

You should also unlock the combat trophies (B)Military intelligence, (B)Distance warfare, (B)Stealing is wrong, kids!, (S)Bad medicine, (B)Hitman, (B)Nowhere to hide, (B)Up close and personal, (B)Robert Ford style, (B)Boombastic, (B)Hot Potato, (B)Leg frag, (B)Last breath death, (B)Multiboom-doom, (S)Network weapon, and (G)The Professional.

Step 2: Online

Bodycount offers competitive multiplayer and two player online co-op missions. Competitive modes include Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. Three trophies are related to the competitive modes; (B)2nd place equals death!, (B)Team Bodycount and (S)Killed ‘em all. All three of these trophies are “win” trophies and cannot be boosted in private matches.

The co-op trophies are: (B)Online can of whoop-ass, (S)Never say “Die”, (B)Don’t call a doctor, (B)Kept at bay,(B)Out of the Darkness, and (B)Beat the street. Co-op missions require you to complete 20 waves in each map. Co-op missions can prove difficult with an uncooperative partner. Even with a competent partner following a strategy is best way to finish the missions without much frustration. See the trophy descriptions for these strategies. Also if needed find a partner here: Bodycount Boosting Thread

Finally (G)Kilo-killer (Score 1000 online kills) takes into account all of your co-op and competitive kills. Therefore, you can get 990 kills in co-op mode vs. the CPU and 10 kills vs. human opponents in competitive modes and you will get this trophy. Because of this fact this trophy can be obtained relatively quickly as a good player can kill over 300 CPU enemies in one co-op mission.

Note: It is also possible to get all of the combat related trophies (except (B)Stealing is wrong, kids!, (B)Under their nose and (S)Bad medicine) online in co-op matches. But be aware that you cannot boost ANY trophies in private matches.

Step 3: Clean Up

Use this step to clean up any trophies you may have missed. Two trophies that aren’t likely to come with normal play are (B)Bullet with their name on it and (B)Under their nose. See their respective trophy descriptions for tips.

You can pick up any other "non-skill kill" missed trophies online, in co-op or you can play Bodycount mode which lets you select any mission for replay. You cannot get any trophies in private matches.

After completing all of these steps congratulate yourself on your new (P) Trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/10.jpgWarmonger (G)

Complete Single player campaign on hard

Hard mode is the 2nd hardest difficulty in the game (behind Impossible) and is not very difficult at all. You take less damage than lower difficulty settings but can still take a good amount of damage before you die. Additionally, the enemies are not stronger or smarter than they are on lesser difficulties.

Like all games there will be a few instances you will need to retry before you conquer them. But these sections are few and far between. For the most part you can activate you OSB adrenaline power and run right past these sections.

There are only two boss battles in the game and they are both simple and straight forward. The most problematic sections in the game are the “defending” sequences. These sequences normally include you staying in a particular area until a computer is finished being hacked or a bomb is finished being disabled etc. all while you’re being bombarded with enemies. For these sections, find a good place for cover, press :r3: to kneel, make good use of your OSB powers, and pray your aim is true.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/11.jpgMilitary intelligence (B)

Collect highest value intel following multiple skillkills

Intel is in the white bubbles enemies drop after you kill them. For this trophy you’ll need to earn a skillkill multiplier of about 12-15 on the Combat Chain and pick up the intel. See The Professional on how to get a high number on the Combat Chain.

Story related, cannot be missed. All OSBs upgrade automatically as you progress through the campaign.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/16.jpgDistance Warfare (B)

Take out a Sniper with a grenade

Pretty self explanatory. Snipers have large rifles with red laser beams. Use :r1: to throw a grenade in their general vicinity. They get blown up and you get a trophy, a good trade off. The Network notifies you when snipers are in the area.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/17.jpgStealing is wrong, kids! (B)

Take out 10 Scavengers

Scavengers are guys who wear green hooded sweatshirts and cover their faces with scarves. The Network notifies you when there are scavengers in the area. You will see plenty of scavengers throughout the campaign. There is even one mission where you have to kill 5 scavengers.

But if you can’t wait that long the game saves every action you take. So when you see your 1st scavenger, you can kill him, die, and then kill him again, repeat 10 times to grind this trophy. If you use this method make sure you die or kill yourself, do not choose restart in the pause menu as that will restart the mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/18.jpgBad medicine (S)

Take out ten Medics

There are two types of medics in the game, regular medics and Target medics. Killing any combination of these will result in the trophy. So if you kill 3 regular medics and 7 Target medics you will get the trophy. As with the scavenger trophy, you can grind these or you can get it through normal campaign play.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/19.jpgHitman (B)

Kill 10 enemies with a headshot

Shoot 10 enemies in the head to kill them. This trophy can be obtained during single player or during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/20.jpgNowhere to hide (B)

Kill 10 enemies through cover

90% of the environment in this game can be shot through. Spot an enemy behind a wall or taking cover and shoot through the obstacle. You’ll know it is a cover kill when see “kill through cover” on the Skillshot indicator in the top left corner of your screen.

This trophy can be obtained during single player or during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/21.jpgUp close and personal (B)

Kill 10 enemies using melee

Press :circle: to melee. Simply kill 10 enemies using this method and the trophy is yours.

This trophy can be done both on or offline; excluding private matches, it can also be obtained during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/22.jpgRobert Ford (B)

Kill 10 enemies from behind

When you shoot or stab someone from behind, you’ll notice “back stab” appear on the skillshot indicator. Impersonate Robert Ford 10 times for this trophy.

This trophy can be obtained during single player or during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/23.jpgBoombastic (B)

Kill 10 enemies with explosives

Shooting an explosive object will result in a huge explosion killing anyone nearby. The most common explosive objects are the red gas containers and the venerable exploding red barrel. Shooting suicide bombers also nets you the explosive skillkill.

This trophy can be obtained during single player or during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/24.jpgHot Potato (B)

Kill 10 enemies with grenades

As previously mentioned you throw grenades by pressing the :r1: button.

This trophy can be done both on or offline; excluding private matches, it can also be obtained during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/25.jpgLeg Frag (B)

Kill 10 enemies with mines

You deploy mines by pressing the :l1: button. All mines deploy in sets of three. Mines are one of the most effective weapons in the game, you should be using them liberally in all game modes. Set them down and forget about them, you’ll have this trophy in no time.

This trophy can be done both on or offline; excluding private matches, it can also be obtained during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/26.jpgLast breath death (B)

Kill 10 enemies while health is low

Your health is low when your screen turns red and the sound muddles. You’ll know if you performed this skillkill if you see “near death” on the Skillshot indicator on the top left corner of your screen. By all intensive purposes you will get the trophy quickly whether you’re playing online or single player.

This trophy can be obtained during single player or during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/27.jpgBullet with their name on it (B)

Kill 10 enemies with the last round in your weapon

This is one of the rarest skillkills in the game. This is a trophy that can be obtained by playing the game normally but any mindful gamer will reload very often. If you don’t have this trophy by the time you finish the campaign and any online play then you will need to grind the remaining number of “last round” skillkills.

The best place to grind this trophy is at the very beginning of the game. You start with a shotgun. After shooting or slicing through the wooden barrier you’ll see two enemies. Just shoot all but one (seen as 1 and ½ bars on the ammo counter) of your rounds into the air. Then use the last round to kill a guy. Press :square: to reload the gun but shoot into the air after he loads in two shells. This will give you 1 round. Go on a killing spree with that last round until you get the trophy. If you die don’t worry because the game tracks all of your skillkills. Just respawn and continue until you get the trophy.

This trophy can be obtained during single player or during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/28.jpgUnder their nose (B)

Surprise kill 10 enemies

The "surprise kill" skillkill is pulled off by shooting and killing an unaware (colored yellow on the mini-radar map) enemy with 1 shot from the silenced P226 pistol. You can get this pistol from any weapons cache in the game.

The best place to get this trophy is at the beginning of mission 10: Xuchung streets. You start this mission with only the silenced pistol. Your objective is to find the weapons cache. But before you do, sneak around the area to the right of where you spawned and get as many surprise kills as you can before you are detected. Once you’re detected, just let them kill you. Then repeat the process until you get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/29.jpgMultibloom-doom (B)

Kill 3 enemies at once with a single grenade

The single player campaign is full of opportunities to kill up to 7 enemies with a single grenade. There is no single instance that is better than others. When you see 3 or more enemies close to each other, press :r1: and send them all to hell together.

This trophy can be done both on or offline; excluding private matches, it can also be obtained during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/30.jpgNetwork weapon (S)

Skillkill 10 enemies in a row

See The Professional.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/31.jpgThe Professional (G)

Skillkill 25 enemies in a row

There are a variety skillkills within Bodycount. You’ll know if a particular kill was a skillkill if the kill shows up on the “Skillshot indicator & Combat Chain” graphic on the top left corner of your screen. Skillkills range from shooting someone in the back to blowing them up with an environmental explosion.

The most common skillkills are headshots, grenade kills, mine kills, kills through cover, kills from behind (backstab), near death kills, and explosive kills. (full list pending)

For this trophy you need to pull off 25 skillkills in a row. Don’t worry about the time in-between kills there is no timer. The only events that stop your combat chain are getting killed, performing a normal kill, or the level ending.

The easiest way to get this trophy is to combine headshots, with grenade kills, with mine kills. Make a conscience effort on every kill. Carefully aim the head; plant mines in high traffic areas, a well placed grenade can net you five skillkills in a split second.

This trophy can be obtained during single player or during co-op.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/32.jpgRain of fire (B)

Kill 5 enemies at once with an Airstrike

You get the ability to call in airstrikes during mission 6, but you will have a hard time killing 5 enemies with one strike until the ability gets upgraded during mission 15 (Ship breakers yard). It is possible to get the trophy before mission 15 but it will prove difficult.

There is an excellent spot during mission 15 to obtain this trophy. About halfway through the level you’re going to get ambushed in the middle of a large shipyard by two “Heavies” and about 8-10 enemies. In the center of the shipyard there is a bridge. Go up to this bridge and aim to where the enemies are conjugated and press  on the d-pad. If your strike is accurate enough you’ll hit at least 5 of them. You can tell how many enemies each strikes kills by looking at the “Skillshot indicator and combat chain” in the top left corner of your screen. Airstrikes will not kill the “Heavies” so don’t anticipate their deaths in your planned strike.

This trophy can be done both on or offline; excluding private matches, it can also be obtained during co-op. Later rounds in co-op missions present many opportunities to kill 5 enemies with one strike.

Survive the Medicenter siege

This is a co-op mission; the Medicenter siege is the “Militarised Compound” level. To get this trophy you will have to complete wave 20. During co-op missions a new gun becomes available every 5 rounds (a waypoint shows you where the guns are). These guns are always better than your starting weapons and these guns are critical for the success of the mission. Upgrading your guns cost a small amount of intel but it is always critical to pick up the round 10 and round 15 guns. Each level has different guns suited for the map and they are invaluable for the players to complete the 20 rounds. Below is the list of guns for this particular map.

-Round 5: Super90 - shotgun

-Round 10: G36 - assault rifle

-Round 15: MINIMI - light-machine gun

Strategy: This is probably the hardest map to defend. It is a big compound surrounded by smaller buildings. This compound is two stories and has a ton of ingress and egress points. Each player must constantly circle around which ever points they are defending. Mines need to be set down at the bottom of ramps and 1st story doorways to alert you of possible incursions.

If the compound gets overrun or a “Heavy” forces you out, the players should defend a corner of the map until it is clear to go back inside. Staying on the outside of the compound and in an corner basically facing “back-to-back” is a good strategy for the later rounds as the compound will be swarming with enemies in no time.

This level only has one special enemy, the suicide bombers. Listen for their psycho screams and take them out from a distance if you can. Use mines to kill the “Heavies,” until the map has a good number of intel bubbles laying around. With a full OSB meter press :right: on the d-pad to activate your “explosive ammo” this will make quick work of the “Heavies.”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/36.jpgKeep at bay (B)

Survive the Pirate Bay siege

This is a co-op mission; the Pirate Bay siege is the “Pirate Bay” level.

-Round 5: CQB. 45 - hand gun

-Round 10: Tavor - assault rifle

-Round 15: MINIMI - light-machine gun

Strategy: This is the easiest map to defend. Just behind where you spawn is a hanger. This is where you are going to stay the entire mission. The hanger has two 2nd story walkways. Each player defends one walkway. In the back of the walkways are rooms. These rooms are your panic rooms. If one player dies, the other needs to run and defend this room until the 13 seconds are up and his partner respawns. The safest room is the room on the right, the one with the weapons upgrade in it.

Enemies will mostly enter through the front of the hanger, where a flight of stairs connects to a door. The player on the right’s job is to protect that front door and watch a door near the rear (close to the safe room, always set mines near this door). The player on the left’s job (this is the point player, hopefully the better shooter) is to watch outside of the door to the front left of the hanger. From here he can kill the enemies as they spawn and jump over the fences. This is the player responsible for taking out the snipers when they appear after wave 10, for this he MUST pick up the Tavor when it spawns during wave 10. He will also call out to the other player if suicide bombers or “Heavies” are on their way up the stairs.

This map has the highest concentration of “Heavies” but you will get most of your kills in the hanger so the hanger will be full of white intel bubbles. Do not hesitate to press :right: on the d-pad to activate your “explosive ammo” to quick dispatch of the “Heavies,” or to press  on the d-pad to activate your adrenaline if you are taking too much fire.

The special enemies in this level are suicide bombers and snipers. Make sure either you or your partner has good aim or the snipers will keep u bogged down, then you run the risk of being overrun.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/37.jpgOut of the darkness (B)

Survive the Mine siege

This is a co-op mission; the Mine siege is the “Ore Mine” level.

-Round 10: Kriss - SMG

-Round 15: Kaluka - advanced Target assault rifle (best gun in the game)

Strategy: This map is huge and surprisingly easy. At the very bottom of the map overlooking a cliff is a tunnel. This tunnel only has two openings, a very low roof, and a few dumpsters for cover. The roof is so low enemies can’t throw grenades into them. Each player simply defends their end of the tunnel. If one player dies he needs to let the other player know so he can watch his back.

The size of the map and the location of the tunnel mean neither side should be too over burdened with enemies. Both players can kill the enemies they see spawn on cliffs in front of them. With the map being so large it takes a while for the enemies who don’t spawn on the lower section to get to the tunnel. This gives you valuable breathing time.

The only special enemy on this map is the suicide bomber. Take them out from a distance; if they get close they are the priority. Remember when the “Heavies” approach to press :right: on the d-pad to activate your “explosive ammo” to make quick work of them.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/434/38.jpg Beat the street (B)

Survive the Street siege

This is a co-op mission; the Street siege is the “Xuchung Streets” level.

-Round 5: CQB. 45 - hand gun

-Round 10: G36 - assault rifle

-Round 15: MINIMI - light-machine gun

Strategy: There is a large three story building in the corner opposite the canal and the pool area. It's the same building you had a huge battle in during the single player campaign. This is your "Alamo." The way this building is laid out there are only two possible entrance points, and the enemies only use the front entrance 99% of the time. The 3rd floor is your haven. If you or your partner dies the surviving player should always run to the 2nd room on the 3rd floor. The same room with the weapon upgrade in it. It will keep you safe for the 13 seconds it takes your partner to respawn.

The plan here is to have one person guarding the 2nd to 3rd floor stairwell. Always have mines here as well. This person will be able to kill enemies from the 2nd or 3rd floor, wherever they’re most comfortable. The other player (the point player, hopefully the better shooter) should stay on the 2nd floor balcony and kill enemies as they spawn from the pool area and to their right, from the building next to the canal. This point player should let the other player know if any enemies got past him and are coming into the building, he should also alert of any “Heavies” that spawn. This 2nd floor balcony will be constantly contested by multiple enemies. The point player will more than occasionally need to fall back to the 3rd floor to regroup. His partner will have to pick up the slack here. There will be occasions when you are being shot but have no idea where the shooters are. The shooters are more than likely on the bottom level shooting up though the floor and walls. Just keep moving when this happens.

This level’s special enemies include both suicide bombers and armored enemies. As always take out the bombers from afar. Armored enemies are a nuisance, not only because of the armor but because they love to sit back and shoot at you from a distance and from behind cover. Remember when fighting “Heavies” to use your “explosive ammo” by pressing :right: on the d-pad.

Win a Deathmatch

Simple. Go to multiplayer > Deathmatch > quick start > then win the match!

This can be boosted but not in a private match. Find boosting partners here: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/bodycount/122437-bodycount-boosting-co-op-partners-sign-up-here.html

Win ten Deathmatches of any type

This trophy is for winning 10 Deathmatches. Regular Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch wins both count towards the total. So you can win 5 regular Deathmatches and 5 Team Deathmatches or any combination in thereof for this trophy to pop.

Score 1000 online kills

This trophy is for getting 1,000 kills online NOT 1,000 kills vs. human opponents. I cannot stress this enough: Co-op kills vs. the CPU count in this total. Therefore, this trophy is quick and simple. Full co-op missions can net you 150-350 kills (depending on partner) per match. Add those kills to any player vs. player deathmatch kills and this trophy can be obtained in a few short hours. Private match kills do not count!

Nice guide man, the Kilo-killer conditions make me more interested in this game now. I doubt the online is popular so knowing you can share kills between online Co-Op and Competitive is awesome.

Edit: I made you a quick banner if you wanna use it. URL is here:

Thanks for the banner, its awesome! Yeah online is a ghost town but I doubt its because no one is playing it. There is a problem with the severs where no one can join a match already in progress so if you start a match with 3 people you'll notice at the top of your screen that people are trying to join but they're forced to stay in the lobby. Even if you try to join your friend who is playing the 1 vs.1 match the game will just stick you in a lobby. This needs a patch ASAP.

yes you can obtain every trophy with 2 people , even in private matches !!!

So all of the online trophies are boostable with 2 people in a private match?

I played a private match with some randoms and they said trophies did not pop. So I assumed no. They could of just been idiots though. I'm going to try it on a dummy account to confirm.

With the servers the way they are you could easily play a 2 player public match without any problems, it's not like anyone can join lol.

One of the best and most detailed guides I have seen on PS3T! This deserves a sticky, keep up the good work!

Thanks a lot, I'm trying to be as detailed as I can without TMI.

*Update, as requested. Changed the name and also made the banner's dimensions longer: New link here:

Appreciate it Sajiko, its perfect.

ok proove it but that was the way i did becuase it is much faster only to kill somebody 5 times in 3 min.

What is this in response to? Why were you killing someone 5 times?

if you make private match you can adjust how many kills and min you play so the shortest is 5 kills or 3min.

I'm sorry but what were you gaining from killing someone 5 times in 3 minutes? What trophies can possibly come from that? Wins don't count in private matches.

I can second that. Private matches do not count toward win trophies. Just search DMs with a friend. Shouldn't be that hard as the game is still relatively unknown to the masses. Great guide by the way.

they unlock i did it like that and thats true ,did it with Horrorman83, would not tell it if not , these were my first trophys in the game, check my psn profile and you´ll see, i have the european version of the game, did it before update .

Oh I missed the before the update part when you said you did it in private matches. Lucky online is still uncrowded in public matches so a booster and thier boosting partner can have a session to themselves.
