PS4 notes

The remastered version of Bioshock unfortunately comes with a myriad of serious technical problems that you need to be aware of:

1: In addition to the Research PhD trophy glitch, a ton of other trophies have been reported as either glitched or very temperamental so save regularly when attempting the following and check your difficulty settings regularly as they can change without warning: Historian, Prolific Photographer, Seriously Good at This, Brass Balls, A Man Chooses and I Chose the Impossible.

2: Frequent freezing and/or crashing has been reported, along with save file corruption so make regular backups and rotate your save slots so you don't use the same one repeatedly. Temp freezing is also annoyingly common, especially in the first half of the game so leave your controller alone for about 30secs before force closing the app as it will more than likely snap out of it by then.

3: Whilst it hasn't been 100% confirmed yet, the overall difficulty of Survivor mode seems to have been increased by a fair amount over the PS3 version of the game.

4: The exploit for the difficulty trophies that was patched out of the PS3 version, actually works in all copies of the PS4 release without having to mess around and, as a bonus, it also works just as well with the Challenge Rooms DLC.

Introduction

Bioshock is a very unique first person shooter that emphasizes the story a little more than the normal FPS. In addition to the normal guns, there are plasmids and tonics that add some special abilities to your character that are used to make combat a little different in this game. Overall, this game isn’t too difficult but people do have some trouble attaining a few trophies. Most of the trophies are collection based but are easy to get by playing through the story. There is no online portion to this game so there is no online grind to worry about.

There are two different methods to go about getting the platinum, one playthrough or two playthroughs. The quickest is one play through but it means playing through on Survivor. All of the trophies can be attained in one play through on Survivor. Even though this is the highest difficulty setting, it isn’t that difficult after the first few levels. Once you get a few plasmids like Hypnotize Big Daddy, Enrage and Security Bullseye, the game gets easier. The toughest part of Survivor is dealing with the Big Daddies. Fortunately, you can go back after you get stronger weapons and better plasmids and deal with the Big Daddies. Each level has one to three Big Daddies in it. Using Hypnotize Big Daddy to set a Big Daddy vs. Big Daddy rumble is an easy way to deal with them. Armor piercing rounds or crossbow bolts are good choices to clean up if the Big Daddy you want to kill still has some health left. Up until just before the fight with the final boss, you can go back to any stage in the game, with the exception of the first stage, "Welcome to Rapture". If you play through on Survivor and intend on getting all the trophies, make sure you set Vita-Chambers to "Off" in the options menu. If you do this, it will ensure that you don’t accidentally use a Vita-Chamber and lose two trophies.

The other method is to go through on Easy and pick up all the trophies not related to difficulty, then go back through on Survivor to pick up the last few. This is obviously much easier but takes longer to get through. The same principles apply as playing on Survivor but you can take on the Big Daddies earlier without a problem.

There are a few trophies that can be missed. Tonic Collector can be missed if you don't pick up enough tonics throughout the game. Some tonics are scattered throughout Rapture, some can be invented at the U-Invent stations and others are obtained by taking research photos. Most though are picked up at Gatherer’s Garden stations. If you're rescuing all of the Little Sisters (which you should be if you're going for the Platinum) then you will get more Adam to pick up more tonics.

Speaking of the Little Sisters, both Little Sister Savior and Dealt With Every Little Sister can both be missed. The first can be missed if you don't take care of one Big Daddy or harvest one instead of rescuing her. You can go back up until just before the fight with the last boss fight if you haven't taken care of all the Big Daddies.

Other trophies that can be missed are Historian, Research PhD, Irony and Found Cohen’s Room. Historian can be missed pretty easily. There are 122 audio diaries scattered around Rapture. The first two audio diaries in "Welcome to Rapture" can be missed and you cannot go back and get these two. There are three in the "Rapture Central Control" level that cannot be gone back to. Once you complete this area, those are lost forever. The other audio diaries you can go back to up until nearly the end. Research PhD can be missed if you take enough photos or if you don't take pictures of security bots, turrets and security cameras since you don't get trophies for those. Take tons of pictures of everything. You get nice bonuses for taking pictures. Irony and Found Cohen's Room both deal with Sander Cohen. If you kill him after completing his masterpiece, you can't get into his bedroom. If you kill him and don't take a picture of his corpse, you won't get the Irony trophy. Avoid killing him until later in the game, just remember to take that picture of his body.

If you have the PS3 version then missing any trophies and not having a save from before the final fight, will mean having to start a new game since New Game+ (which was added with the Challenge rooms DLC) will disable all trophies but if you have the PS4 release then you can start a new playthrough on NG+ and grab any you missed.

Collected all other Bioshock trophies

The description for this trophy is wrong as it implies that you need the DLC trophies as well, which is incorrect as just the ones in the core game are needed.

New Game+ notes:

The Challenge Rooms DLC adds New Game+ but in the PS3 version, all trophies are disabled. On the other hand though, in the PS4 release you can earn trophies when in NG+ mode.

spacer.png Found Cohen's Room (B)(H)

The player has entered Sander Cohen's personal quarters :tagstory: :tagmissable:

MISSABLE

If you killed Cohen in Fort Frolic then you can't get this trophy. Cohen's apartment is in Olympus Heights. When you walk in, Cohen contact you from his room via the PA system. After killing a Big Daddy, you will have the option to either Harvest or Rescue the Little Sister it was protecting. Rescue all the Little Sisters in each stage and you will get this this. You will get a message before you exit each area if there are any Little Sister's left. Up until right before final boss battle, you can go back to any area (except for the area in "Welcome to Rapture"). When you pause the game, at the bottom of the screen, you will see icons for how many Big Daddies are left in the level and if any Little Sisters haven't been rescued. Rescuing all of them also lets you see the "good" ending.

spacer.png Dealt with every Little Sister (B)

The player has either Harvested or Rescued every possible Little Sister :tagmissable:

MISSABLE

Every stage, beginning with the "Medical Pavilion", has at least one Big Daddy and Little Sister but most have two or three. The easiest way to deal with the Big Daddies is to stun it with the Electrobolt then hit him Explosive/Electric Buck shells or Grenades. Harvesting each Little Sister gives you a lot of Adam right then but will cause you to lose out in the long run due not getting any of the tonics or extra ADAM that Dr. Tenenbaum will reward you with for saving every 3 Little Sisters.

spacer.png Seriously Good at This (B)

The player has completed the game on the Hard difficulty setting :tagdifficulty: :tagstackable:

spacer.png Brass Balls (G)

Complete the game on Hard difficulty without using a Vita-Chamber :tagdifficulty: :tagstackable: :tagmissable:

MISSABLE but is GLITCHED on the PS4.

spacer.png A Man Chooses (G)

Complete the game on Survivor difficulty :tagdifficulty: :tagstackable:

GLITCHED (PS4 only)

Finish the game on Survivor. Completing the game on Survivor will also unlock the trophies for Hard, providing you don't use a Vita-Chamber.

spacer.png I Chose the Impossible (G)

Complete the game on Survivor difficulty without using a Vita-chamber :tagdifficulty: :tagstackable: :tagmissable:

MISSABLE but is GLITCHED on the PS4.

The PS4 version of Bioshock come complete with a really nasty glitch which will randomly change the difficulty of your game to Medium but fortunately, there is a workaround so see here for details: LINK

Finish the game on Survivor. Switch Vita-Chambers to "Off" in the Options menu (Do note that this setting is not very clear as to what you've selected so remember the following: ON = OFF and OFF = ON). Completing the game on Survivor will also unlock the trophies for Hard, providing as you don't use a Vita-Chamber. Some tips:

1. Save a lot. Save after every major fight. Save as often as you can.

2. Don't load another save which is set to another difficulty as doing that will change the difficulty globally and screw you out of the difficulty trophies.

3. Take lots of pictures. Take pictures of everything.

4. Search everywhere for items. Take as much ammo and all the items you can carry.

5. Rescuing all of the Little Sisters will get you more ADAM than Harvesting them will.

Also see here (credit to dargondarkfire for this): LINK

There is an exploit in certain copies of the game which you use to get all of the Difficulty trophies at once, see here for details: LINK In the PS4 version of the game you can use this exploit straight out of the box without having to faff around so set the difficulty to Easy and disable the Vita-Chambers, then change it to Survivor just before the final cutscene kicks in and watch all the relevant trophies pop.

In all versions of the game, it's actually possible to get some additional Little Sisters to spawn which means you can obtain some much needed extra ADAM (credit to Combatting and the Bioshock wiki for this info): LINK

Collection/Miscellaneous Trophies

spacer.png Lucky Winner (B)

Hit the jackpot at a slot machine

At the beginning of Fort Frolic, you will come across some slot machines. Play until you hit a jackpot (i.e when you get $$$) but be prepared to play for a long time before you get it, since it's pure luck as to what you get with each spin. To save time and frustration, save before you attempting this so you can reload if you run out of money.

spacer.png Toaster in the Tub (B)

The player has shocked an enemy in the water

Use the Electrobolt plasmid on a splicer that is standing in water. A good place for this is in "Welcome to Rapture". In the area with the first audio diary, go down the stairs and there will be a couple of splicers in a room that is filled with water. Fire the Electrobolt at the water then the trophy will pop.

spacer.png Maxed One Track (B)

The player has purchased every slot in one of the Plasmid or Tonic tracks

There are 4 tracks i.e Plasmids, Engineering Tonics, Combat Tonics and Physical Tonics. Each track has 6 slots that you can fill up, with two available right away but you have to purchase the others at a Gatherer's Garden. Maxing out 1 of the 4 tracks will get you this trophy.

spacer.png Maxed All Tracks (B)

Purchased every slot in all four Plasmid and Tonic tracks

There are 4 tracks i.e Plasmids, Engineering Tonics, Combat Tonics and Physical Tonics. Each track has 6 slots that you can fill up, with two available right away but you have to purchase the others at a Gatherer's Garden. Maxing out all four tracks gets you this trophy.

spacer.png Bought One Slot (B)

The player has purchased one slot in any Plasmid or Tonic track

Go to a Gatherer's Garden and buy a slot in one of the Plasmid, Engineering, Combat or Physical Tonics tracks.

spacer.png Tonic Collector (B)

Collect or Invent 58 Tonics in the Physical, Engineering and Combat tracks :tagcollectible:

This trophy is tough for some people. There are Tonics scattered around Rapture. If you're searching for the audio diaries, you should be able to find these pretty easily. Others can be purchased from any Gatherer's Garden. Rescuing Little Sisters gives you more Adam to work with and allows you to purchase more Tonics. Taking research photos and maxing out all the research tracks also gives you some plasmids. Don't purchase all the upgrades to your Health and Eve. If you do, you won't have enough Adam to buy all the Tonics for this trophy. There are a total of 58 Tonics in Rapture so you have to find all of them.

See here for the locations of all the Tonics (courtesy of ShadowAFC😞 LINK

PS4 Note:

It's currently unknown if this is a glitch or if the requirements have changed but in the PS4 version, you can get this trophy just by finding all the Tonics up to and including Machine Buster 2.

spacer.png Upgraded a Weapon (B)

The player has acquired at least one weapon upgrade :tagcollectible:

Upgrade one of your guns i.e the pistol, shotgun, machine gun, chemical thrower, grenade launcher or the crossbow. There are two upgrades available for each gun so getting one upgrade for any of them will give you this trophy and the most likely point you will get this is at the end of Neptune's Bounty after killing Peach Wilkins, since there's a Power to the People station on the level below you.

Acquire all upgrades for all weapons :tagcollectible:

Purchase both upgrades for all of the guns in the game i.e the pistol, shotgun, machine gun, chemical thrower, grenade launcher or the crossbow and you will get the following trophies:

One Fully Upgraded Weapons

Two Fully Upgraded Weapons

Three Fully Upgraded Weapons

Four Fully Upgraded Weapons

Five Fully Upgraded Weapons

Weapon Specialist

There are 12 Power to the People stations and here are their locations (thanks to Little_Moth for this):

1. Neptune's Bounty - Freezer Bottom Floor, on the wall in front of you as you come down to this area.

2. Arcadia - Tree Farm, enter this area from the Southern (check the Map) entrance, turn right and go up the stairs. Then look left and it will be in a little alcove.

3. Farmer's Market - Winery Cellar Bottom Floor, go down the stairs from Winery Cellar Top Floor, head straight and you will enter a small area waist deep with water. The machine is on the wall in the centre.

4. Fort Frolic - Southern Mall, Le Marquis D'Epoque, this store is the last one in the Southern Mall area. Go downstairs and turn left twice to enter an alcove with loads of cigars and the Power to the People machine.

5. Fort Frolic - Poseidon Plaza, Sinclair Spirits, go behind the counter and find a button, push it. Go into the newly opened door and go downstairs to find the Power to the People machine.

6. Hephaestus - Core, as you enter this area from the tunnel turn left, go down the stairs and keep walking forward until you reach a Gatherer's Garden machine on the left wall and a Power to the People machine opposite it on the right wall.

7. Hephaestus - Lower Workshops, Kyburz's Office, the Power to the People machine is at the back of the room and to the left.

8. Olympus Heights - Mercury Suites, once you enter this area there is a huge pillar with a lift in it in the centre of this area. The Power to the People machine is on the opposite side of the pillar to where the lift door is.

9. Olympus Heights - Mercury Suites, Cohen's Apartment, once you enter this apartment you will see 2 Houdini Splicers dancing, kill them. Sander Cohen will come down from his room, kill him too. Then go up the stairs into the room he was in (on the right as you enter his apartment) and look to the left to see the Power to the People machine on the wall.

10. Apollo Square - Hestia Fourth Floor, first go to the fifth floor and turn right to enter a door, go to the back of this room and turn right to see some stairs, go down them and a little to the right you will see the Power to the People machine.

11. Point Prometheus - Atrium, right as you enter this area look straight ahead and you will see a Vita-Chamber at the back of the room. A little to the left is the Power to the People machine on the wall by the corpse of a Big Daddy.

12. Point Prometheus - Optimized Eugenics, Eugenic Analysis, enter this area and turn left, go to the back of this room and you will find the Power to the People machine on the wall to the left.

spacer.png Researched a Splicer (B)

The player has taken at least one Research Photo of a Splicer

As soon as you get the camera in Neptune's Bounty, there will be a Splicer in the next room so take a picture of it through the glass and this trophy will be yours.

spacer.png Quality Research Photo (B)

The player has taken a Research Photo of the highest grade

You have to take a picture of a Splicer that gets an A grade. Getting certain things, such as multiple Splicers or an action shot (jumping up or attacking you) of the Splicer, in the picture up the grade of the photo. Make sure the photo is centred on the Splicer and that they can be clearly seen.

spacer.png Prolific Photographer (B)

Take at least one photo in every research group

GLITCHED (PS4 only)

For some unknown reason, this trophy may not pop in the PS4 version of the game and all you can do is either start a new game from scratch or wait it out and see if it pops at random.

To do this, you have to take one picture of each of each type of enemy. These enemies are Thug Splicer, Leadhead Splicer, Spider Splicer, Houdini Splicer, Nitro Splicer, Rosie, Bouncer, Little Sister, Turret, Security Bot and Security Camera.

Take lots of pictures of them to get through the levels. Higher grade photos give you more points. You can take multiple photos per Splicer but the grade of each subsequent photo will drop. You get a maximum of 3 or 4 photos per Splicer.

spacer.png Fully Researched Houdini Splicer (B)

Fully research the Houdini Splicer

spacer.png Research PhD (B)

Max out all possible research :tagglitched:

GLITCHED

If you die after maxing out an enemy type but before saving your game, then this trophy may glitch and fail to register that you've fully researched everything. If this does glitch, then your only option is to start a new game on Easy and re-research everything until you find the one that glitched.

Finish all five levels of research for all the Splicers (though the Thugish Splicer only has 3 Levels on the PS4), both Big Daddies, the Little Sister, as well as the security camera, security bots and turrets.

spacer.png One Successful Hack (B)

The player has performed at least one successful hack

Hack either a security bot, security camera, turret, vending machine or a safe. The first place you will be able to do this is in the Medical Pavilion. There will be a security bot that is stuck in the opening of a door at the beginning of the level. If you're facing the vending machine, it's to the right of it. These are mini-games with a time limit where you have to uncover squares and construct a pipe from one point to another while fluid is flowing through the pipe. The earlier you can get these in the game, the better since the hacks will be easier. Saving before attempting the hack is a good idea since you can reload it if you fail.

spacer.png Hacked a Security Bot (B)

The player has successfully hacked a security bot

Hack any of the security bots that are littered throughout the game. A good place to do this is at the beginning of the Medical Pavilion as there will be a security bot that is stuck in the opening of a door at the beginning of the level. If you're facing the vending machine, it's to the right of it.

spacer.png Hacked a Security Camera (B)

The player has successfully hacked a security camera

Hack any security camera around Rapture. In the Medical Pavilion, there are a couple of security cameras that are easy to hack. The one you will most likely encounter first is in the Eternal Flame crematorium. Get beneath the camera without being spotted (stay out of the white/pink light) then look up at it and press :square: when the prompt appears.

spacer.png Hacked a Turret (B)

The player has successfully hacked a turret

Hack any turret that is in Rapture. There are few turrets in the Medical Pavilion that you can hack. There will be two in the large room after the entrance to the Medical Pavilion (where you see the ghost at the door). Hit one with Electro Bolt, then go up to it and hack it.

spacer.png Hacked a Vending Machine (B)

The player has successfully hacked a vending machine

Hack any vending machine that you find. There are two types of vending machines, the Circus of Value and the El Ammo Bandito. Both of those are found in the Medical Pavilion. Off to the side of the large room where you first see turrets, there is a room with both types of vending machines. Hack either one.

spacer.png Hacked a Safe (B)

The player has successfully hacked a safe

Hack any of the safes found in Rapture. Safes are usually hidden or out of the way and are few and far between but are usually the toughest machines to hack. There is one in the Twilight Fields Funeral Home in the Medical Pavilion. To get in there, you must have the Incinerate Plasmid to melt the ice. When you go in, it's on the left side. You will get attacked by a Splicer and then a turret. If you haven't hacked a turret already, now would be a good time because the safe is behind the turret.

spacer.png Skilled Hacker (B)

The player has successfully completed 50 hacks

Hack any combination of 50 turrets, security camera, security bots, safes, vending machines, health stations or U-Invents. Using buyouts and auto hack tools also count towards this trophy and all the other hacking trophies.

spacer.png Basic Inventor (B)

The player has successfully invented at least one item

Invent one item at a U-Invent. You can invent three tonics (Hacker’s Delight 2, Bloodlust and Booze Hound), the automatic hacking tool and six ammo types (anti personnel pistol rounds, armor piercing machine gun rounds, exploding buck, heat-seeking RPG, electric gel and trap bolts). The items for these start to appear in the "Arcadia" level.

spacer.png Avid Inventor (B)

Successfully invent at least 100 items

Invent any combination of 100 tonics, ammo types or automatic hacking tools at U-Invent stations in Rapture. See here for an easy way to get this trophy (credit to Hawaiian for this): LINK

PS4 Note:

In the PS4 version of the game, you can use an exploit to get this trophy and save resources in the process (credit to SuperBeann for this): LINK

spacer.png Ammo Inventor (B)

The player has successfully invented all possible ammo types

Invent one each of the six ammo types, anti-personnel pistol rounds, armor piercing machine gun rounds, exploding buck, heat-seeking RPG, electric gel and trap bolts at U-Invent stations.

Find every audio diary :tagcollectible: :tagmissable:

MISSABLE but is glitched on the PS4.

There are 122 audio diaries scattered throughout Rapture, see here for a full Guide to their locations (courtesy of ShadowAFC😞 LINK

  • The 2 audio diaries in "Welcome to Rapture" are very missable since there's no way to go back for them and If you miss them, then you can't get this trophy.
  • There are 3 missable diaries in Rapture Central Control. One is on a desk next to the Vita Chamber as you enter and the other 2 are in the "Would you kindly?" room (thanks to Cauchy-Schawrz for the reminder).
  • The "Andrew Ryan – First Encounter" audio diary is found under the "Neptune's Bounty" tab for some unknown reason.
  • All the others can obtained at will, providing you have a save from just before the final fight.
  • If you have the version of Bioshock that comes with certain copies of Bioshock Infinite, then the "Rodriguez – It's All Grift" diary may be invisible (credit to cpjoe999 and ShadowAFC for this).

PS4 note:

If you miss any diaries, then you can collect them in NG+ and still get the trophy because the game will remember your stats from the previous playthrough.

Challenge Rooms DLC:

spacer.png "The 'I' in Team" - Rescuer (B)

Rescued the Little Sister in "The 'I' in Team"

Rescue the Little Sister in this challenge room. These rooms are puzzles and take a bit of thought to work out what to do. This is the first of the three rooms. You have to rescue the Little Sister from a Big Daddy that has gone crazy but will have an extremely limited selection of weapons. The only weapon that you will find is the grenade launcher and the plasmids that you have to work with are "Target Dummy" and "Winter Blast". You also need to find enough items to invent an Automatic Hacking Tool.

spacer.png "The 'I' in Team" – Expert (B)

Rescued the Little Sister in "The 'I' in Team" in under 3:00

This is a speed run through this challenge room and isn't too difficult but does take some practice. Follow this video by 0verlord73:

spacer.png "The 'I' in Team" – Collector (B)

Found all collectable Roses in "The 'I' in Team"

There are 4 Roses in this challenge room. Follow this video to see their locations (credit to 0verlord73 for this):

Locations (thanks to fords30 and digital-flex for this info):

1) On the table in the room with the Vita-Chamber, can't miss it really.

2) Above the first Big Daddy, in the ceiling. You will have to lure the Big Daddy away from the door with Target Dummy, then freeze him with Winter Blast. Once he's frozen, you have to jump on top of him then jump up and grab the Rose.

3) Use the grenade launcher to blow up the middle RPG turret then fire off another shot to blast the wreckage over to you. You have to go to the beam to be able to reach it.

4) Before the room where you get Winter Blast, is a Big Daddy and a Pressure Plate. Use the Target Dummy to lure him over to the plate, then hit him with Winter Blast to freeze him in place. Now return to the room where the Big Daddy and Little Sister were waiting and you will see that a panel on the side of the far platform has dropped and inside is the Rose.

spacer.png "The 'I' in Team" – Pacifist (B)

Rescued the Little Sister in "The 'I' in Team" without destroying any Machine Gun Turrets

Use Target Dummy to lure the Big Daddy into the middle of the Firing range, then freeze him in place with Winter Blast and place another Target Dummy on him so all the turrets will focus on him and not you but keep hitting him with Winter Blast so it doesn't wear off. This trophy can be very tricky, because the Rockets have terrible A.I/hit detection so often won't hit their target and will instead just fly in circles around the Target Dummy.

Rescued the Little Sister in "A Shocking Turn of Events"

Rescue the Little Sister in this challenge room. These rooms are puzzles and take a bit of thought to work out what to do. Again, you have limited equipment in this room. This room has a bit more combat then the previous room. The weapons that you have available are the crossbow (with 4 trap bolts), the chemical thrower (with 1 unit of electric gel) and the shotgun (with 2 electric shells available). The only tonics that you have to use are Static Discharge and Expert Piano Player (though the piano one is completely useless)). Your goal is to rescue the Little Sister from the top of a Ferris Wheel that has shorted out. You have to turn the wheel 6 times to get her down (A Shocking Turn of Events – Rescuer) and 9 times to get A Shocking Turn of Events – Master Electrician and A Shocking Turn of Events – Collector.

spacer.png "A Shocking Turn of Events" – Collector (B)

Found all collectable Roses in "A Shocking Turn of Events"

There are 8 Roses in this level, one in each room so follow this video by 0verlord73 to see where they are:

Locations (thanks to TheNukes, fords30 and Killerxx for this info):

1. In one of 3 the barrels in one of the huts inside the big market room.

2. Above you on the ceiling in the room with the code jump up and grab it (code 1951).

3. Inside Rapture Records behind the metal fence.

4. Washrooms, Gents side on top of the Pick your Plasmid picture.

5. Inside the Ice room above in the pipe below the Punemo.

6. Energize the Ferris wheel 8 times then the right axle will blow up and reveal the rose inside.

7. Inside the most bottom right balloon over in the market room balloon stand. You can either use Telekinesis to throw sharp object at it or have a splicer beat on you in front of the stand until it pops.

8. Inside the Little Sister vent. It's located on your right as you enter the carnival area.

9. On the 2nd floor in the main lobby, go to the lift shaft on the left and look up to your right. There's a gap with a corpse and a Rose in. Jump to get it.

10. On Top of the Elevator when the lady push the button and get shocked get on the top of the elevator as it comes up.

spacer.png "A Shocking Turn of Events" – Master Electrician (B)

Charged up the Ferris Wheel 9 different times in "A Shocking Turn of Events"

You have to find and save all of the different types of electric ammo that is in this challenge (electric buck, electric gel & trap bolts). Stand next to the wheel controls and kill the splicers with Static Discharge (let them hit you). You will have to get them to chase you to the controls. Follow this video by 0verlord73 if you need more info:

spacer.png "Worlds of Hurt" - Rescuer (B)

Rescued the Little Sister in "Worlds of Hurt"

There aren't any puzzles to solve here as it's just a fight through 8 rooms to make the Little Sister feel safe enough that she will come out of the chamber she locked herself in. You have every weapon and a good selection of Tonics/plasmids to work with. After you kill the splicer in the first room, "A Single Splicer", the Little Sister will give a gift with every weapon along with some money and ADAM. How you spend the money and Adam on ammo, items, plasmids and Tonics is up to you. I would recommend spending the money on health packs, Eve hypos and crossbow bolts. Make sure you pick up plenty of items (3 Distilled Water, 1 Alcohol, 2 Battery) to invent some electric gel for when you have to fight a room with four Big Daddies.

You have four plasmid slots available to you. Three of these should be taken by Electrobolt, Incinerate and Enrage. The fourth you can use for whatever Tonic you want. The hacking Tonic won't help you too much so don't bother wasting Adam on them. The Tonics that you should have (especially when going for "Tough Guy") are Photographer's Eye, Damage Research, Clever Inventor (this is a must if you plan on using Electric Gel), Armored Shell, Static Discharge and Wrench Jockey.

spacer.png "Worlds of Hurt" – Expert (B)

Rescued the Little Sister in "Worlds of Hurt" in under 15:00, on Medium or higher difficulty

This is the hardest trophy in the DLC but there are 2 ways of doing it:

Method 1:

Getting under 15:00 is difficult but can be done with a few practice rounds. A good order to do them in is: One Splicer, One Big Daddy, Flying Bots (finish those three in under 2:45), Turret Maze, Spider Splicers, Splicers Mix, Four Big Daddies (use Enrage! to get them fighting each other and then use everything you can on them), Houdini Splicers (finish all the rooms in under 13:00). The last room shouldn't take any more than 2:00. Go for headshots with the crossbow for quick kills. Thank you to Metapower for the recommended room order.

There are numerous threads that have more tips if you need them. This is the thread that I used: LINK

Method 2:

1: Bookmark the following playlist and follow all 9 of the "Worlds of Hurt - Expert" videos:

2: Use the following exploit to get every enemy type up to Research Lv2 (credit to Rnumbers for this):

Rnumbers said:
Probably no one will read this at this point but I found a couple of things you can exploit when doing research in Worlds of Hurt. Unfortunately, these probably won't help much if at all for the toughest trophy, Expert but I haven't seen them mentioned elsewhere so here it goes:

1. If you enter a room, research from above (through the glass ceiling), then leave the room to go back to the central hub, you can then return to the room and research again without the penalty for photographing the same subject. In this way, you can fully research just about everything and pick up some useful damage bonuses etc. I maxed out the Bouncer before taking on the One Big Daddy room and everything else I wanted immediately thereafter when all the other rooms opened. I was doing Tough Guy so had plenty of spare cash to spend on film.

2. This doesn't quite work the same way with the Little Sister but you can research her anew after completing each room (i.e. each time she crawls out of one of the vents she counts as a new one). This can give you a little health/EVE boost that can come in handy during Tough Guy.

I hope someone finds this helpful.

3: Make a manual save after successfully clearing each room but reload if your clock is more than 10-15secs behind the one in the linked playlist.

The 2 rooms that will cost you the most time if things go wrong, are the ones for the Spider Splicers and Houdini Splicers so be extra vigilant when entering them and reload if everything goes pear-shaped.

PS4 Note:

If you start the level on Medium difficulty, then you can change it to easy after gaining control of your character and change it back just before you free up the Little Sister at the end of the level (credit to JesseTheGreat713 for discovering this exploit).

spacer.png "Worlds of Hurt" – Collector (B)

Found all collectable Roses in "Worlds of Hurt"

There are 8 Roses in this level, one in each room. Follow this video by 0verlord73 to see the locations:

Locations (thanks to Killerxx and Eternal_Spoon for this info):

1. A Single Splicer - Located between 2 pipes on the floor.

2. A Single Big Daddy - You know the part where part of the floor is slanted into the electrified water? On part of it that is opposite of the electrified water (on that same platform though), there should be some small spaces where you can see into the water. The Rose is there, though you might need to look at an angle.

3. Spider Splicers - Located near the weapon upgrade machine on the floor under a bench.

4. Security Bots - Located near the guy that control the security bots you need Incinerate to melt the ice to get it far corner of the room.

5. Houdini Splicers - Go on stairs leading down where the health machine and you need to fall off the side of the stairs and land on the ledge opening and the Rose is on the floor behind some planks of woods.

6. All Kinds of Enemies - Located where the Little Sister hidey hole is, then turn left and you will see it behind some bags on the floor.

7. All Kinds of Big Daddies - This is opposite the Little Sister hole, just turn round and it's behind a broken tree branch.

8. Security Turret Maze - This one is hiding inbetween some pipes on some machinery near to the "Power to the People" machine.

spacer.png "Worlds of Hurt" – Tough Guy (S)

Rescued the Little Sister in “Worlds of Hurt” using only plasmids, tonics, the wrench, and the research camera, on Medium or higher difficulty

This trophy is surprisingly easy. Equip as many Tonics and plasmids like Electrobolt, Incinerate and Enrage. Max out the research with the camera and take your time in these rooms. Make sure you have Photographer's Eye, Damage Research, Armored Shell, Static Discharge and Wrench Jockey as your equipped Tonics. The room with the Big Daddies will be the toughest. Using Enrage, Incinerate and Electrobolt on the Big Daddies while they fight each other is the easiest way to do this. It's still a struggle but it's doable. Take your time as you're not going to get Worlds of Hurt - Expert at the same time.

If you use the Research exploit I listed for Worlds of Hurt - Expert, then you can get this trophy without too much trouble. If attempting this trophy on the PS4, then you can use the same difficulty exploit you used earlier and still get the trophy

Thanks for the compliments, but unfortunately, this guide might not be used. It's in the mods hands, and neither of them have played this game much, if at all. They don't know if it's better than the one that has been used for a few months now, so they're asking for people to give an opinion on it. I won't chime in since I'm biased and it'll look like I'm just tooting my own horn.

Good work, Olsen... my only suggestion would be to wrap the spoiler tags around the names of the secret trophies as they give away information about key plot twists.

But what was wrong with the other guide?

Good idea...and done. There was nothing really wrong with the other guide, I just thought I could write a better one. I think it is better, but is it good enough to replace the one that's there is something I don't know, and isn't up to me to decide.

It's been a while, so I may be wrong, but I think there is another missable audio diary. I'll PM you with the details so as to not give away any spoilers.

Thanks man. I knew I was forgetting one. This is what happens when you try to do a guide from memory.

Just finished the game, platinum in first playthrough.

One thing I was annoyed with was the inventing objects as it was the last thing I had to do. I want to recommend to anyone to equip the prolific inventor and any other inventing tonics they have to get this out of the way as early as possible, invent nothing but ammo and the blood lust/booze hound tonics consistently so you don't have to bother with at the end of the game. I would also suggest using a guide to get the weapon upgrades as soon as they are accessible, I had to back track for 2 of them and looked on every stage because I had no idea which ones I had already used. At least with the audio diaries you can see which ones you specifically missed.

Otherwise a very good story with unique gameplay. I like the modest use of horror in the game along with the tactical thought needed to kill enemies/big daddies. Very tough game on survivor I wasn't expecting it to be so hard.

Great work olsen.

Why isnt this thread a sticky?

No offense to boinggg, but this guide is just better than his. I dont see a problem in having 2 sticky guides. The users can decide on their own which one they like to use.

Ok here's where I stand on this. I agree that this guide is better than mine, and it should possibly be sticked over mine.

But what I don't understand (without sounding like a bitch) is why you decided to make it in the first place when there was already one that is fairly detailed? Cos I put a lot of time into the other one.

If you're upset that I posted this, that wasn't my intention. Here's why I posted this. The mods have been looking for people to make Road Maps for games that don't have them. Bioshock was one of those games. I volunteered to make one. While I was working on the Road Map, I noticed that you had left the site and not been around in about four months. I assumed (without knowing why, like I do now) that you left the site and weren't coming back. I decided after I wrote the Road Map that I would challenge myself to see if I could make a better guide that could beat out the one that was already posted. It was nothing personal, and if you took offense to it or see it as an insult, then I apologize.

Just so you know, the mods have no idea what to do about this. They think it's a better guide, but they don't know for sure. They also don't want to sticky this one and lose all the comments that helped to improve and add to your guide. There is a possibility that my road map will be stickied, but the rest of the guide might be deleted.
