Platinum Walkthrough (redone with new info and all endings)

Estimated Time to Platinum Using This Walkthrough: 20 hours

 

If anyone can, can my old topic please be deleted? Thank you.

 

I decided to clean up the walkthrough since I had actually missed an ending. I removed the Youtube videos (except for Aiden's Apocalypse. Otherwise, it was way too cluttered). I've re-written it for two walkthroughs instead of two so there isn't constant mention of "quit to main menu". Still, the chapters that need to be played through more than once are in red. And as always, it's recommended to experience the game on your own first time to enjoy the story and make the decisions you want to make.

 

Preparation: Have two controllers ready, and go to "Game Mode" on the menu. Select "Duo" and play with it through to the end. Player 1 controls Aiden and activates him, while player 2 controls Aiden and deactives him.

 

Important Note: Whenever I say to chapter select, always choose to SAVE over the previous save. And whenever you have to turn off the game and leave, when you turn it back on, make sure to switch Duo Mode back on.

First Playthrough

 

Chapter 1: Prologue

 

*Trophy #1*: Two Souls - Launched a scene in Duo mode. - Self-explanatory.

 

Chapter 2: Broken

 

*No Trophies or Bonuses*

 

Chapter 3: The Experiment

 

*Trophy #2*: Somebody Else? - Played as Aiden for the first time. - Self-explanatory.

Bonus #1: Go to the room that Dawkins and Cole are in, it's in the corner closest to the door to the room Kathleen is in.

*Trophy #3*: Obedience - Stopped the experiment voluntarily. - When Kathleen starts freaking out, switch back to Jodie and hit X to stop the experiment.

 

Chapter 4: The Embassy

 

Bonus #2: Turn around and go to the beginning of the level. It's on the right wall (from Aiden's perspective) tucked away in a corner.

Bonus #3: When you control Aiden from the restroom, go straight into the Sheik's room. It's on your right, behind some chairs.

*Trophy #4*: Clean Job - Shut down the monitor and finished the mission using only Aiden. - When you control Aiden from the restroom, go upstairs and into the Sheik's room. Open the drawer on the right side of the desk and hit the switch. A guard will come in and you are notified you have to distract the security guard. Distract him by interacting with his monitors, pausing the monitor you're on. You are now free to interact with the Sheik's pictures and obtain the documents.

 

Chapter 5: The Party

 

*Trophy #5*: Cold Blood - Did not impress or scare the teens with Aiden. - When the teens ask you to show off your magic powers, refuse or say you have no powers. When you escape from the cubby they lock you in, choose to Leave.

 

Chapter 6: First Interview

 

Bonus #4: You can do this with Jodie still sitting in the chair. Facing away from Jodie, go left into the hallway and turn to your immediate left.

 

Chapter 7: Welcome to the CIA

 

*Trophy #6*: Perfect Soldier - Completed most of the physical training successfully. - Not sure what you can or can't screw up. Just do your best on the QTE's. You can always retry. I think the only thing I screwed up was the situp segment and it still gave me the trophy.

*Trophy #7*: Fight Apprentice - Won every fight whilst taking less than 5 hits. - Again, just do your best on the QTE's, and chapter select if you screw up.

*Trophy #8*: Stealth Apprentice - Completed all stealth training without being spotted. - Run to the first barricade, and distract Guard #1 with the barrel. Take him down as he walks in front of you. Run to the next wall and take out Guard #2. Run over to the next wall and barricade when Guard #3 isn't facing your direction. Take him out and move to the ladder on your right. Climb up and take down Guard #4. Then takedown Guard #5 from above.

 

Chapter 8: Hunted

 

*Trophy #9*: Catch Me if You Can - Escaped the train without being arrested. - Simply succeed in all of the QTE's in the first part of the chapter on the train and you'll get this.

Bonus #5: After escaping the woods, you'll end up by a road with cops blocking the way. The bonus is on the ground next to a Sheriff's vehicle on the same side as the motorbike.

*Trophy #10*: Aiden's Apocalypse - Destroyed the gas station, the church, the gun store and the helicopter. - You can only get this if you've escaped arrest the third time. If you fail the motorbike shield QTE, you can't get this trophy. This is where Jodie's hiding out in front of a theater in front of the cops. Don't worry about her right now, you have plenty of time. What you need to do is;

1) Go to the left to the gas station and interact with the pumps to loosen them. Then possess the guard nearest to the pumps, and press R1 to shoot the pumps.

2) Next, move all the way to the opposite side of the level where you'll find a vehicle in front of a gun store with a killable guard near it (across the church). Possess the driver, and make him drive into the gun store.

3) Do a 180 towards the cathedral and go to the top of it. Interact with it twice to destroy it.

4) Help Jodie enter the theater. Once she's in, go outside and possess the helicopter pilot and make him crash to get the trophy. I'll provide a video if any of this seems foggy to you.

Chapter 9: My Imaginary Friend

 

*Trophy #11*: Teammates - Did 3 mischievous things with Jodie and Aiden. -

1) As soon as you gain control, walk into the kitchen. Use Aiden to interact with the chairs.

2) Talk to your mom, then walk over the fridge and ask if you can have a cookie. Then use Aiden to interact with the cookies to give Jodie one.

3) Turn on the radio closest to the back door.

Bonus #6: You can do this while you're still in the house. In the backyard, go to the left on the opposite side of the slide and swings. The bonus is tucked in a corner.

 

Chapter 10: The Condenser

 

Bonus #7: When you enter the DPA building, turn right. You'll see a cafeteria-like area that's been destroyed. The bonus is behind the main counter.

*Trophy #12*: Channeling Master - Channeled all dead bodies in the condenser compound. - Do not miss a single dead body in the entire chapter. It starts with the man in the elevator. I think there's around eight or nine bodies you have to channel, but it's pretty hard to miss them. Just always use Aiden to scout the area for green 'wisps' to signify you can channel.

Bonus #8: The bonus is in the left room in the frozen hallway.

*Trophy #13*: Portal Shutdown - Successfully shut down the condenser portal. - This is the end of the chapter after you've left the frozen hallway. What you need to do is simply beat the room, defeating all the entities, and you will end the chapter by shutting down the condenser. Shouldn't be difficult.

 

Chapter 11: Homeless (ENDING CHANGER #1)

 

Bonus #9: After Stan saves Jodie, leave the shelter. Standing at the entranceway, the bonus is directly to your left.

Bonus #10: When you start to beg for money with Stan, walk across the street to the supermarket. Going up the street, you'll come across a seedy man who says he'll give you money for "services". Ignore him if you want to, but enter the alley next him. The bonus is at the end of this alley.

*Trophy #14*: Money to Eat - Earned enough money to have some chocolate during dinner. - On the same side of the street as the supermarket, go all the way to the end and you'll find a man with a guitar. Talk to him and you'll play the guitar to earn money, and never choose to stop playing. This is the only thing you need to do to finish this segment and get the trophy.

*Trophy #15*: Miracles - Looked after Tuesday's baby, healed Jimmy and channeled Stan. - I missed this trophy my first runthrough, because channeling Stan ends the segment. When you have dinner with the others, get up when prompted. Walk over to Tuesday and channel her baby. Then walk over to Jimmy and heal him. Then channel Stan to talk through Nancy.

*Trophy #16*: Smart Thief - Deactivated the supermarket's camera. - When Tuesday goes into labor, you and Stan will try to break into the supermarket. When prompted to, control Aiden and interact with the alarm on the ceiling above the door, the shutter controls next to the door, and the door itself.

SAVED ALL 1/6 AND 2/6: In the middle of the night, the building will catch fire. We are going for the Saved All trophy on our first run. When Stan leaves, use Aiden to open Walter's door and save him. Go upstairs, open Jimmy's door, and possess him to save him. Tuesday will be saved no matter what, so you can play the rest of the chapter how you want.

Chapter 12: First Night

 

Bonus #11: In the corner of Cole's watching room.

*Trophy #17*: Entities Apprentice - Vanquished the entities with Aiden. - Pass all the QTE's and interactions when the entities start attacking Jodie.

*Trophy #18*: Entities Master - Was victorious in every battle with the evil entities. - I got the trophy in this chapter, so I'm assuming the other battles it's referring to are the ones at the end of My Imaginary Friend and The Condenser. Just destroy all the entities in every battle and you're good to go.

 

Chapter 13: Like Other Girls

 

Bonus #12: When you enter the bar, go to the restrooms in the back. The bonus is in the stall on your right.

 

Sit down at a table, and when prompted to, get up and leave.

 

Why?: Well, what you're doing here is setting up the In Love With Ryan trophy later on. If the men attack Jodie, you can't sleep with Ryan.

 

Chapter 14: Alone

 

*Trophy #19*: Sorry - Forgave Jodie's father. - Simply let the chapter play out and you'll get this trophy.

 

Chapter 15: Navajo (ENDING CHANGER #2)

 

*Trophy #20*: Not Just Sand - Ran from the sandstorm and took less than 3 hits. - This on the second night at the ranch. Jodie will leave the house and a sandstorm will start chasing her. Do the QTE's as best as you can, retrying if you have to.

Bonus #13: This is on the third day at the ranch. Jay will lead Jodie to a field with sheep. The bonus is at the back of the field near a tree, almost directly across from Jay.

SAVED ALL 3/6: When you return from the ritual site and start heading back towards the ranch, you'll find Paul injured. You'll be outside after the cutscene. Walk in the house and enter Paul's room. Interact with him and have Aiden heal him.

*Trophy #21*: Medicine Girl - Successfully performed the entire ritual. - After saving Paul, talk to Shimasani and setup the ritual. Choose the pattern that looks like a person.

Bonus #14: This is on the final day, when the family buries Shimasani (note you cannot get this bonus if you fail the ritual). When you enter the gravesite, look over to the far left and you'll see somewhat of a structure made out of stones and wood. The bonus is sitting in front of it.

*Trophy #22*: Never Alone - Started at least one romance. - Kiss Jay at the end of the chapter.

 

Chapter 16: Separation

 

*No Trophies or Bonuses*

 

Chapter 17: The Dinner

 

*Trophy #23*: Casual Girl - Ordered a pizza, watched some TV and wore something casual. - Look at the cookbook in the kitchen and order pizza. Take a shower, then go over the dresser and choose "Cool". Then sit down in the living room and watch TV until Ryan arrives.

Bonus #15: When you can finally control Aiden, go into the bathroom. The bonus is in a corner next to the toilet.

*Trophy #24*: In Love With Ryan - Slept with Ryan. - Do nothing to disrupt the date as Aiden and you'll get this.

 

Chapter 18: Night Session

 

Bonus #16: The bonus is in the adjacent room, in the corner to your right as you enter.

 

Chapter 19: The Mission

 

*Trophy #25*: Stealth Master - Made it to the cathedral without being spotted. - When you start the chapter, distract Guard #1 in front of you with the barrel and take him down. Head into the building and choke out Guard #2 above you before heading upstairs and outside the building. Don't worry about the truck that passes by, it can't see you. Go to the right side, and crawl past the guards when prompted to. Go to the barricade and take down Guard #3. Move to the location, and possess Guard #4 to take him and Guard #5 out. Continue on until you see some guards exit a building. Don't worry about the guard downstairs, he can't see you.

 

Moving past the hotel, you can sneak right past the next set of guards. Climb the ladder, ignore the guard on the roof and drop down when you can. Takedown Guard #6 in front of you. Run all the way to the end of the next alley and take down Guard #7 when he comes to check out the noise. Proceed to the right, and choke out Guard #8. This will kill him and scare all the other guards away. At the next group of guards, turn left immediately to sneak past them and it's a straight shot to the cathedral.

Bonus #17: After taking out the first two guards, you'll slide down a slope. You'll see the bonus on a roof in front of Jodie as she instructs Aiden to look for the hotel.

Bonus #18: When you reach Gemaal's hideout, have Aiden check out the second floor directly above the room he's in. It's in the right-hand side corner from Jodie's perspective.

 

Chapter 20: Old Friends

 

*No Trophies or Bonuses*

 

Chapter 21: Norah (ENDING CHANGER #3)

 

Bonus #19: After gaining access to the patient rooms, stay on the right side. The bonus is in Room 38, sitting right next to the cross-legged patient.

SAVED ALL 4/6: After the scene with Norah, choose to Leave.

 

Chapter 22: Briefing

 

*No Trophies or Bonuses*

 

Chapter 23: Dragon's Hideout

 

Bonus #20: This is the last Bonus you can actually collect. At the beginning, head straight forward. You'll find the house you're supposed to enter. Across from it is a clothesline, and behind that is a house where the bonus is sitting.

*Trophy #26*: Agent 894732 - Told the truth during the interrogation. - When the prompt asks you to during the interrogation scene, talk.

*Trophy #27*: Almost Too Easy - Went to the containment shield with the General. - When you pop out of the submarine, possess the General as Aiden and have him walk you to the containment field.

 

Chapter 24: Hauntings

 

*No Trophies or Bonuses*

 

Chapter 25: Black Sun (ENDING CHANGER #5)

 

SAVED ALL 5/6: When Jodie, Ryan, and Cole are stealthing past the entities, run to the end. Cole will get knocked down. Go back and get him. After a cutscene, have Aiden heal him.

*Trophy #28*: Convince Dawkins - Helped Dawkins see the truth. - When you talk to Nathan in the Black Sun, choose 'kind' options for him to let you pass through. To be safe, choose "Reason - Reason" to guarantee he won't stop you.

*Trophy #29*: SAVED ALL 6/6 - Saved every character that could be saved. - Since Nathan didn't shoot you, Ryan won't die.

*Trophy #30*: Black Sun Down - Deactivated the Black Sun. - Succeed at the QTE's after Nathan dies, and you'll get this.

*Trophy #31*: Chose Life - Stayed in reality. - Choose "Life" after you destroy the Black Sun.

 

Chapter 26: Epilogue (ENDING)

 

Ending #1 (Alone with all characters alive): Choose "Alone"

*Trophy #32*: The End - One possible reality has been uncovered... - Beat the game.

*Trophy #33*: Together Till the End - Finished the game in Duo mode. - Since you beat the game in Duo Mode like I asked, you'll get this trophy.

*Trophy #34*: Explorer - Found all the bonuses. - You get the last two bonuses after beating the game.

 

After the credits, hit continue.

 

Ending #2 (Zoey with all characters alive): Choose "Zoey"

 

After the credits, hit continue.

 

Ending #3 (Jay with all characters alive): Choose "Jay"

 

After the credits, hit continue.

 

Ending #4 (Ryan with all characters alive): Choose "Ryan"

 

After the credits, chapter select back to Black Sun.

 

Chapter 25: Black Sun (ENDING CHANGER #5)

 

Why?: There's a whole other set of ending screens we haven't seen, and with all the characters being alive, we can get it. Again, save Cole and Ryan, but when you are asked to, choose Beyond.

 

*Trophy #35*: Chose Afterlife / Ending #5 (Beyond with all characters alive) - Entered the Infraworld. - Choose "Beyond" after you destroy the Black Sun.

SECOND PLAYTHROUGH

 

Okay, so we're mainly going for the trophies A Better World and Uncontrollable in this run, as well as getting the alternative trophies in the previous run that would've required you to restart the level. I know those credits are a hassle to get through after the first couple of times, but just stick out with it to the end and you'll get the platinum.

 

Chapter 2: The Experiment

 

Uncontrollable - 1/6: When Kathleen starts freaking out, keep interacting and destroying objects in her room. After a little bit, she'll back up against the wall and turn red. As Aiden, you need to choke her until a cutscene happens. It won't show anything different in the cutscene than if you hadn't choked her, but it still counts.

 

Chapter 3: The Embassy

 

*Trophy #36*: Possessive Spy - Finished the mission using only the Sheik. - When you control Aiden from the restroom, go into the main room and possess the Sheik. Walk him up stairs into his room, push the button, and collect the documents.

 

Now quit to main menu, and replay the chapter.

 

Uncontrollable - 2/6: When you control Aiden from the restroom, go upstairs and possess the yellow-aura'ed guard. Walk him over the balcony looking over the main room, interact with it, and jump down.

 

Chapter 4: The Party

 

*Trophy #37*: Revenge / Uncontrollable 3/6 - Taught 3 or more of the teens a lesson, or started the house fire, with Aiden. - You have to be very specific in order to continue your progress with Uncontrollable. When Jodie escapes from the cubby, choose to take Revenge and send Aiden after the teens. Interact until they run to the door. Keep interacting and knocking over the other teens, but what you're looking for is Kirsten (the main teen in yellow) to cower by a cabinet by the door. DON'T touch the cabinet. There's a candle on the cabinet you want to knock over. Interact with it, and again when it's on the floor. This will start the fire. You'll know you've succeeded when you see smoke coming out of the house in the next scene.

 

Chapter 7: Hunted

 

*Trophy #38*: Houdini - Got arrested three times and escaped each time. -

1) Fail all the QTE's when Jodie's on the train. You'll be arrested and be locked in a compartment. Possess the guard outside the compartment, enter Jodie's room, and free her.

2) Fail the fight with the dogs in the woods. You'll be taken to the road from before. Choke out the driver with Jodie, and use Aiden's full force to knock over the other vehicle and escape on the motorbike.

3) Fail to use Aiden's shield on the motorbike. Jodie will now be put in the back of a squad car. Use Aiden to possess a guard and shoot the driver to crash the vehicle.

 

Chapter 8: My Imaginary Friend

 

Uncontrollable 4/6 - This happens during the snowball fight. A kid will come up to Jodie and start smothering her with snow. As Aiden, choke the kid until the game stops you.

 

Chapter 10: Homeless (ENDING CHANGER #1)

 

A BETTER WORLD 1/6 AND 2/6: After you get Stan out of the burning building, just stand in the hallway. After about three minutes, Jodie will succumb to the smoke, as Walter and Jimmy perish in the fire.

 

Chapter 12: Like Other Girls

 

*Trophy #39*: Together Forever - Protected Jodie from her attackers. - When you enter the bar, sit down and have a drink. Ask the bartender if he's seen the girls, and then play pool. The people in the bar will attack Jodie. As Aiden, you are going to need to interact with the environment and the attackers as much as possible in order to stop them. At the end, you are given the option to possess the bartender and kill the attackers. I did so, and got the trophy. I do not know if it's been confirmed if you have to kill them or not.

 

Chapter 14: Alone

 

*Trophy #40*: Not My Father / Uncontrollable 5/6 - Choked Philip with Aiden. - After the mother is done talking to Jodie, choke the father as Aiden to end the chapter.

 

Chapter 15: Navajo (ENDING CHANGER #2)

 

A BETTER WORLD 3/6: On the third day when you come back to the ranch, Paul will be injured. Instead of going to his room, talk to Shimasani and setup the ritual.

 

Chapter 17: The Dinner

 

*Trophy #41*: Perfect Lover - Cooked a meal, cleaned the apartment, took a shower, wore the elegant dress and put on some music. - Look at the cookbook in the kitchen, make Asian Beef or Chicken Curry and prepare it. Take a shower, go to the dresser and choose "Elegant". Now go over to the stereo next to the TV and choose any type of music. As for cleaning the apartment, there are three different interactions in the living room for clothes, books and games.

*Trophy #42*: Uncontrollable 6/6 - Took every opportunity to be evil as Aiden. - For the sixth and final evil act, you basically have to ruin the date. Just interact and destroy everything you can as Aiden. Jodie and Ryan will both get frustrated, and the date will eventually end with Ryan leaving at the dinner table.

 

Chapter 21: Norah (ENDING CHANGER #3)

 

A BETTER WORLD 4/6: After the cutscene with Norah, use Aiden to kill her.

 

Chapter 23: Dragon's Hideout

 

*Trophy #43*: Eye for an Eye - Didn't speak during the interrogation. - Don't do anything during the interrogation cutscenes.

 

Chapter 25: Black Sun (ENDING CHANGER #5)

 

A BETTER WORLD 5/6: When Jodie, Ryan, and Cole are stealthing past the entities, run to the end. Cole will get knocked down. Leave him.

*Trophy #44*: A BETTER WORLD 6/6 / Ending #6 (Beyond with all characters dead) - Let every possible character die and chose to go with them to the Infraworld. - In order for Ryan to die, you have to get Nathan to shoot you. In order to do this, when he talks to you in the Black Sun, choose either "Blame - Cold" or "Reproach - Determined". Afterwards, don't do anything as Aiden, as Ryan and Nathan will kill each other. And of course as the description says, choose Beyond when you have the choice.

 

After the credits, use chapter select and choose Black Sun again.

 

Chapter 25: Black Sun

 

Why?: What you're doing here is the exact same thing did before (having Cole and Ryan die), but you will chose Life instead of Beyond. This opens you to three more endings. This sets up all the characters being dead, which will give you a different epilogue where Jodie transitions from the cabin in Alaska to a graveyard and then chooses what she wants to do.

 

Chapter 26: Epilogue (ENDING)

 

Ending #7 (Alone with all characters dead): Choose "Alone"

 

After the credits, chapter select back to Black Sun.

 

Chapter 25: Black Sun

 

*Trophy #45*: All Endings... / Ending #8 (Entity) - Saw all endings. - : The very last thing we have to do is get one last ending. You can do whatever you want with Cole, Ryan and Nathan, BUT...fail the QTE's afterwards when the "snakes" start attacking you. Jodie will give up and die and you'll get the worst ending where you become an entity.

This sets up all the characters being dead, which will give you a different epilogue where Jodie transitions from the cabin in Alaska to a graveyard and then chooses what she wants to do.

 

Make sure you 'Overwrite your Save' when doing Chapter Select to replay Black Sun to choose the 'Life' (all characters died) Ending.

 

I didn't and it showed me the 'Beyond' (all characters died) Ending again when I selected 'Continue' after the credits rolled.

 

Getting sick of replaying the Black Sun more than is necessary :mad:

Yeah, I'll put a thing at the top saying whenever you need to chapter select, choose to save over the previous save.

Yeah, I heard some of the endings weren't required, but I wasn't too sure since Jay and Tuesday's endings with/without the saved/dead people do have physical differences.

 

But I won't change the order for the Entity ending. You have to play Black Sun a total of four times no matter what way you look at it, so there's no need to change it.

Hey there, first of all, thanks a lot for your guide, it's very detailed and helpful.

 

I have one question though; after my first playthrough, as described in your guide (after choosing beyond with all characters saved), do I start a New Game and overwrite my save for the 2nd playthrough, or do I chapter select Prologue and go from there? Just to be sure about how to "keep" the endings from the 1st playthrough :)

You can use the new game option and your endings are safe. If your going for your duo playthrough then it is recommended to start a new game.

So after finishing the first playthrough, can you use chapter select to get the rest of the trophies you didn't get in the first or do you have to start a new game altogether?

 

it depends on which trophy you already have. Cause there are some combinations you can't get in one playtrough, like "Uncontrollable" and "In Love with Ryan" for example. And if you didn't do coop in your first playthrough you have to start a new game anyway.

 

This is how I did my plat:

 

1. playthrough, without guide and enjoying this wonderful game

then with chaper select getting as many throphies i could

after that I played with chapter select the good endings, starting at "old friends" cause nora was the only one I let die on my first playthrough

then I choose new game and got the plat at the ending

 

all in all it took me about 10 days, but I have to deal with an issiue with my ps3, every 2-3 chapters my ps crashed

u seem to have messed up on the chapters.on playthrough 1 u say chapter 13 is like other girls.on playthrough 2 u say 12 is like other girls. i only noticed this cause i forgot to do the ryan trophy and was making sure i could squeeze it in on playthrough 2 without messing anything else up.looks like i can? anyway ty on guide.i played it on day 1 when no guide was available and had to shelf it till u did this guide.it helped out alot.

 

 

now that im looking all are out of wach wich makes it hard if doing bonus's on run 2. sorry.
