Fubzy
http://i.imgur.com/DnjDR.png Special thanks goes to ub4of, for the once again amazing banners! ROAD MAP:- Overview: - Estimated Trophy Difficulty: 5/10 (Vote here!) - Offline Trophies: 12 - Online Trophies: N/A - Estimated Time To 100%: 10-15 hours - Minimum Number Of Playthroughs Needed: 1 (2 if desired) - Number Of Missable Trophies: Technically all trophies except Hovercraft, Project Apollo and Beyond Good & Evil are missable. - Glitched Trophies: N/A - Does Difficulty Affect Trophies?: No difficulty select. - Do Cheat Codes Disable Trophies?: N/A Important Links Used In The Guide: Beyond Good & Evil HD Collectibles Guide Introduction: Beyond Good & Evil was a unique stealth action-adventure video game released on the PS2 back in late 2003. It was set to be the first of a trilogy, but unfortunately, being a commercial failure (albeit critically acclaimed by reviewers) creators were slow to carry on the story. After news of a sequel appearing, and later confirmed, a HD version of the game was released for PSN. Accompanying it, is a list of 12 trophies. I - Play through the game until Jade must go to outer space If you wish to attain all trophies in a single playthrough, I recommend following this road map, as the photographs are missable. Pearls and PA1s are safe enough, though. Note that you can just play through once for fun and leave the trophies until the next playthrough, but there’s nothing particularly tedious about the collectibles and it’s simply easier to bag all the trophies in one go. During your playthrough, go by the guide linked under Wildlife Photographer and take photographs of animals along the way. You are doing this because this trophy is missable whilst Moneybags is not. Play through the game until the point where Jade unlocks the Beluga and must travel to outer space. By then, you will have one last animal to photograph. We stop here because once you land on the Moon you cannot return to Earth, meaning if you didn’t collect all of the Pearls, took all the photographs, obtained all Mdisks and attained all the PA1s on Earth, you must wait until the next playthrough. If you ever feel like taking a break from the storyline, you can dabble in collecting the other non story-related trophies, which are listed just below. Basically, play through the game taking pictures of animals until you unlock the Beluga and are ready to go to outer space. Trophies unlocked: Hovercraft Gamble King 1 Gamble King 2 Kicking *** Racing Champion Bounty Hunter II - Clean up before end-game Before you head to outer space, it’s time to collect all Pearls, PA1s and Mdisks. You cannot finish the game and return; doing so will result in you having to wait until the next playthrough to attain all extras. This should be the main bulk of your trophy collecting for this game if you didn’t get any of the non story-related trophies from the first step. Once this is all finished, you can relax and go ahead to step three, finishing the game. Trophies unlocked: Moneybags Big Heart Data Manager III - Get the last photograph and finish the game Once you have all of the above listed trophies, travel to outer space and take the last photograph. Once you have finished that, travel onwards to the Moon, beat the final boss and you will unlock the final story-related trophies along the way. Trophies unlocked: Wildlife Photographer Project Apollo Beyond Good & Evil Conclusion: An extremely underrated game from the early PS2 era. Trophy-wise, it’s a pretty easy game to 100% and no real difficulties are involved. If you choose to earn collectibles in a second playthrough then you will obviously take longer to get your top trophy percentile, but ultimately I found this a very fun game to ace. Enjoy it! Fubzy
http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/01.jpg Hovercraft http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png Power up the hovercraft Story-related. Cannot be missed. At the start of the game, Jade and Pey’j will attempt to travel in the hovercraft, but due to old age, the vehicle breaks down. When they think they are stranded, Mammago sends out support and brings the stranded travellers to the Garage. Purchase the Speedcraft Motor for one Pearl and Mammago will install it. You will then unlock the trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/02.jpg Gamble King 1 http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png Win 3 times in the coconut shell game against Peepers When you go to the Akuda Bar, there’ll be a few little games for you to enjoy - a game of disk hockey against Francis on the ground floor and a coconut shell game on the second floor against Peepers. Head to the second floor and initiate a game with Peepers. This is the least difficult of the two; it’s pretty hard to lose. Follow the coconut shell with the ball intently; it's over faster than you think. Win three times and you’ll unlock the trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/03.jpg Gamble King 2 http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png Win 3 times in the pellet game against Francis (except Tutorial) When you go to the Akuda Bar, there’ll be a few little games for you to enjoy - a game of disk hockey against Francis on the ground floor and a coconut shell game on the second floor against Peepers. This is the most difficult of the two as sometimes Francis can play some sneaky moves. Keep at it and you will pull through. Hit the ball into the goal. I found hitting from the left is a good place to trick him out. Note that this does not include the Tutorial; it has to be three genuine games. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/04.jpg Kicking *** http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png Kill 10 Alpha Section guards During your adventures, you will encounter Alpha Section guards. It turns into a bit of a Metal Gear Solid sequence as the guards have poor eyesight but extremely acute hearing; running in their presence will alert them. When an Alpha Section guard is not looking, run behind them and hit the green air tank on their back. They will run around in a frenzy. Kick them again and you will kill them for good. Simply do this 10 times in your playthrough and you will unlock the trophy. Note that it is recommended not to do this attack in the presence of multiple guards; try to wait until one is a fair distance from the other, or at least do it with a good escape route nearby. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/05.jpg Racing Champion http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.png Score 1st place in all 4 hovercraft races There are 4 hovercraft races in total and you can access them in the town centre of Hillys. They get progressively harder as you advance, but ultimately they’re not really difficult. Thankfully, all races are infinitely repeatable. You will earn this on the way to Moneybags as Pearls are some of the winnings for the races. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/06.jpg Bounty Hunter http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.png Chase down all 4 looters Once you can freely roam Hillys, you will most likely come across a Looter Cavern. Upon entering, a police car-looking vehicle will appear, steal a small portion of your Credits, and attempt to escape further down the cavern. You then take part in a high-speed chase after the looter until you come to a wide-open space where you must destroy the car. Upon his defeat, you will earn a bunch of Credits and a Pearl. Directions for the Looter Caverns can be found here. Edited August 14, 2012 by Fubzy Editorial Sweep
Fubzy
http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/07.jpg Big Heart http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png Get 10 hearts for Jade's HP During the game you will find or buy PA1 Units. These increase Jade’s health by one heart. There are 13 PA1 Units across the game, but only ten are required for this trophy. Some can be bought, others are found. Locations for PA1 Units can be found here. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/08.jpg Wildlife Photographer http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.png Take 6 film rolls of animal photos After your first boss, and a few cut scenes in the Lighthouse, you will obtain the Camera. This is a vital instrument during the game and you will use it at least once in every mission. But, you can also take pictures of animals. If you take a picture of a contender for this, you will be brought to a screen showing the photograph, and pressing will send it off to animal enthusiasts, giving you a generous reward of Credits. Simply fill 6 rolls of film, and the trophy will unlock. Locations for animals can be found here. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/09.jpg Data Manager http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png Collect 11 Mdisks Mdisks are simply disks which you can use at a computer found regularly throughout the game. Over half of the Mdisks you find are story-related, so there’s no real difficulty here. Locations for Mdisks can be found here. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/10.jpg Moneybags http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.png Discover 80 pearls Pearls are the form of illegal currency used at Mammago Garage. You will need to collect these at certain points of the game but you will never reach 80 Pearls naturally, unfortunately. These, I found, are quite enjoyable to collect, and sometimes come in massive batches together, so 80 isn’t so daunting in the end. Locations for Pearls can be found here. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/11.jpg Project Apollo http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png Pilot the spaceship to the moon By spaceship, the trophy means the Beluga. You will discover the Beluga through an Mdisk originally owned by Pey’j. Note that once you travel to the Moon and land using the Beluga, you will not be able to return to Hillys (and Earth in general) until your next playthrough (unless you reload a save). http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/764/12.jpg Beyond Good & Evil http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_gold.png Complete the game Beat the final boss, watch the few cutscenes, and as the credits begin, the trophy should unlock. If you are going by the road map, this should be your last trophy to unlock for the 100% percentile. FINAL BOSS STRATEGY: [spoiler=123] I recommend taking many K-Bups into the battle, as the final sequences can be challenging. Firstly, defeat the DomZ Sarcophagi that attack you. The main boss will come away from the statue and approach you. With your Dai-Jo, use a few super attacks. He'll retreat, protect himself in materia spikes and send out Pey'j clones. Use Double H's super attack to make the clones go airbourne and throw them into the main boss's materia spikes. Do the same when the spikes are gone to damage the boss. Eventually, Double H becomes unavailable for the rest of the battle. The next part goes in a pattern. Hit in the directions as he appears: (Note, when I say 'above', it means use a Dai-Jo charge attack) Left, up, right, left, up, right, above, down, right, up. After a few hits, the boss will release clones of Double H. Kill the clones. This is where things get rough. You'll be doing a similar process as above, but one major difference - your moves are reversed. Left is right, right is left, up is down, and down is up. Now follow this: Left, right, left, right, above, right, up, above, down. Once you hit him and kill him for good, enjoy the cutscenes and unlock the final trophy. Well done! NewVincent
As you pretty much stated, this game is one of those underrated gems of the PS2! Loved it to death and was very psyched about it's release on the PSN! Hopefully this will motivate Ubi to give us a damn sequel ALREADY!

I played it to death on PS2 but just couldn't pass up a HD re-release. Well, at least we know a sequel's coming! I'd much rather wait ten years for a confirmed sequel than what Squeenix is doing with us for a Kingdom Hearts III :'(

Darth_Krid
I remember reading this when you first wrote it and almost bought the game (as I'd heard a lot of good things about it) but never did because of my already massive backlog. Obviously I didn't know you then, but now I just want to say well done on another guide of the very highest quality. You always excel yourself I still may pick up this game some day, especially if 2 is ever released
