Introduction!

Maybe I will upload a video review but for now: Another Mario Kart similar game, not as good but loveable for a few hours none the less. Please see the following link for a game description: http://www.ben10thevideogame.com/galacticracing/

Roadmap

Hello and welcome to my first guide… critiques are appreciated (as I can’t stop them anyway)!

Firstly, before you do anything, if you are just here for the trophies (which I suspect you are), type the following code into the prompt in the Extras menu:

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j252/phil5529/PC090022-1.jpg

This will unlock the fastest Kart making the rest of the game very easy. I did not do this and really struggled at a few points.

Now if you are like me, the first hour of this game you will feel like this platinum is unachievable. I found it VERY, VERY hard; I could not get better then fifth place. However, after my first hour I got into it and owned every race first time!

Things to remember before you start

Two of the most tiresome trophies to get in this game are “Outta My Way!!!!!” and “Not Even A Scratch”. They can require a lot of farming so give the descriptions in this guide a good read so you can start working towards them early!

Step 1

Play the Grand Prix’s, enjoy them while you are not bored of the game! You do not need to come first in each race, just the Grand Prix itself. So sit back, and enjoy the game!

Step 2

Complete the showdown events. Just read the descriptions and watch the videos, these require little effort.

Step 3

Farm the remainder. Except for the first two trophies mentioned just before Step 1, there is little that you need to know about the trophies before you start so do not worry! Just play, race and go... 90% of the trophies will come as you play normally!

Useful Racing Tips!

Pick up the power-ups - They can be the difference between you winning and coming second!

Find the shortcuts – 90% of the levels have excellent shortcuts, often opened up by a big green button to drive over. The AI is hesitant to use them!

Use drift – Holding :r2: and :l2: will start a drift, this earns valuable boosts whilst building up your defensive super power.

Tricks – Every time you jump or go up a ramp make sure to do a trick, this will build up your super offensive power which has the potential of wiping out every other player if used wisely!

Start off boost – See video below for the timing, but starting to accelerate at the correct time will give you a boost off the start!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/10.jpg Snow Drifter (B)

Beat the Track Best time in a Time Trial on any Kylmyys track.

Kylmyys is the ice planet (blue and white) pieces. It’s the one where all the levels are snowy. Go through the races and find one that has this blue-white planet pop up when hovering over the level, the target time will also pop up so remember it! I found all of the time trials incrediby easy so good luck.

Piscciss is the blue water planet. Go through the races and find one that has this water planet pop up when hovering over the level, the target time will also pop up so remember it! I found all of the time trials incredibly easy so good luck.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/14.jpg Warp Driver (B)

Beat the Track Best time in a Time Trial on any Null Void track.

Null Void is the grey asteroid planet. Go through the races and find one that has this grey planet pop up when hovering over the level, the target time will also pop up so remember it! I found all of the time trials incredibly easy so good luck.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/15.jpg Got Skillz (B)

Beat the Track Best time in a Time Trial on any track by 10 seconds or more.

I got this whilst doing the time trials. Choose the track you know best. For me, it was the Galvin Gorge level. Make use of the easy to use shortcuts!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/16.jpg Tag! I'm It! (B)

Win 10 individual Omni-Tag showdowns in Single Player mode.

This can be done relatively quickly if done correctly, make sure you use my video on when to accelerate to gain the early boost, this way you will always get the disk and score the points. Watch the video below to see the best map and the best method!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/17.jpg Tag! We're It! (B)

Win 10 Team Omni-Tag showdowns in Single Player mode.

See Tag! I'm It! to watch the video of the best method but make sure that you select the ‘team’ button before starting the game!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/18.jpg Ultimate Alienator (B)

Win 10 Ultimate Alienation showdowns in Single Player mode.

I hated this!! At first I found it a little hard to win, but after a while, I came up with an ok method.

Choose ‘Showdown’ from the main menu and from there ‘Alien Showdown’. Choose your preferred map, any will do, and keep circling the outside using all power ups that you get! After a while you will have laid quite a few different mines that the enemies will inevitably run over. Once you are more in the swing of this, change the time from the default of 2 minutes to 1 minute to make the ten games go quicker! Check my overview video to see me doing it!

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JF1sflNPO2o]Ben 10: Galactic Racing - Trophy Guide - Tips for Ultimate Alienation - YouTube[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/19.jpg Beat the Clock (B)

Escaped elimination in an Ultimate Elimination with less than 10 on the clock in Single Player mode.

From the ‘Showdown’ menu choose ‘Elimination’. This is very easy, just stay at the back of the pack, and overtake the last player once you see the timer hit 10 secs, you have several opportunities in a game to do this. A good method is to get a boost power up before you drop to the back!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/20.jpg Shattered (B)

Destroy 10 Shard Mines using the EMP power-up in Single Player mode.

Easiest to complete on Alien Showdown. After a while you will have laid many shard mines, wait until you get the EMP (identified by three yellow rings in the power up image) and detonate close to a mine. I completed this within three 2 minute showdowns.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/21.jpg Counter Measure (B)

Destroy an incoming attack by firing an attack of your own in Single Player mode.

If you have any weapon that shoots forward, by holding back on the right stick, you can shoot it backwards. If you see a red exclamation mark onscreen, then you are about to be attacked by something. Shoot your weapon backwards and hopefully you will destroy the incoming attack.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/22.jpg Nothin' But Skill (B)

Win a race on any Basic track without using an Omni-Node or Offensive Power in Single Player mode.

This is easier than you think. However it is due to a lot of luck!!! I completed this on Gorge levels as the shortcuts are clear and the AI doesn’t seem to make use of them. Just win the race without using any power ups AT ALL, except defensive powers you gain whilst drifting. Just drift whenever possible and keep your ears peeled for any attack sounds! Make sure to choose a race featured in one of the first two grand prix’s.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/23.jpg Nothin' But More Skill (B)

Win a race on any Intermediate track without using an Omni-Node or Offensive Power in Single Player.

See Nothin' But Skill trophy description. Make sure to choose a race featured in either the third, fourth or fifth grand prix.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/24.jpg Nothin' But Maximum Skill (S)

Win a race on an Advanced track without using an Omni-Node or Offensive Power in Single Player mode.

See Nothin' But Skill trophy description. Make sure to choose a race featured in either last or penultimate grand prix.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/25.jpg Boom! Winning! (S)

Successfully hit every opponent in a race at least once with any Power-Up in Single Player mode.

This one daunted me however was achieved on my second race, just make sure that you take any opportunity to do tricks. As you do, you will build up your super offensive weapon, this weapon will likely take out 4-5 players. Once you have done this three times in a race, chances are you will get everybody. Note that this weapon only works forwards so your first attack should be from the back of the fleet!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/26.jpg Omni-Node Master (S)

Pick up 8 different Omni-Node types in each of 10 different races in Single Player mode.

I hated this one, when I finished the game I had only done it three times! The problem with this is that some items only come at specific positions in the race. Most droppable items come at 1st, 2nd or 3rd, shooting comes in the middle and the super omni weapon, boost, vines and big way comes in the last couple of positions. To do this, I went to the front and kept on collecting power ups until I had 4 different ones, then went to the middle and lastly dropped right back where you will almost definitely get the super omni weapon! You do not need to attack someone with them but you will have to use them.

There are 12 weapons in total:

Droppable Weapons:

Shard Mine, Stink Stank Stunk, Omni-Not, Goop

Fireable:

Neuro Blast, Spectrum Blast, Splash

Misc:

Way Bigger, EMP, Accelerator, Enemy Vine

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/27.jpg Missed Me! (B)

Finish a race in the top three without being affected by an enemy attack in Single Player mode.

This is HAAARD but I was very lucky with it. My tip is to find a short race that you are really good at, take the shortcuts etc. to get as far ahead as possible, this way there is less chance to get hit. You CAN get hit by surrounding obstacles as long as they are not put there by the enemy. Drift everywhere; you will gain the defence power that will deflect enemy attacks!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/28.jpg Not Even a Scratch (B)

Block/avoid 100 attacks using your Defensive Power in Single Player mode.

This will be the last trophy that you achieve. Whenever you are about to be attacked, use your omni defence power. Make sure that you are constantly trying to drift wherever available to build it up. When I finished every other trophy I had only achieved 30 of these but farming the rest only took two hours. To farm just drift everywhere to earn and then activate whenever you see a sludge, gloop or shard mine.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/29.jpg Bumper Karts (B)

Successfully bump 25 karts in Single Player mode.

See Outta My Way!!!!! trophy description.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/30.jpg Alien Force (B)

Successfully bump 50 karts in Single Player mode.

See Outta My Way!!!!! trophy description.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/31.jpg Outta My Way!!!!! (S)

Successfully bump 100 karts in Single Player mode.

This will also be one of the last that you get. I did not try for this whilst playing the Grand Prix’s and had only clocked up 17 at the end… that was a hell of a long farm. The best way to farm is to sit at the back and earn a defence omni power, use it when close to an enemy. Other than landing on someone this is the only way I found to successfully bump someone. In order to be a successful bump you must spin the enemy out! Just keep going at it, it will come sooner than you think!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/32.jpg Get My Drift? (B)

Execute a 500-meter drift in a race in Single Player mode.

See Prime Drifter trophy description.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/33.jpg Kineceleration (B)

Execute a continuous boost of 8 seconds or more in a race in Single Player mode.

I found two places to get this; the best for me is in the video below! Just make sure you do it on time trial as all power ups are boosts!

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Sxs525YYcY]Ben 10: Galactic racing - Trophy Guide - kineceleration - YouTube[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/34.jpg Prime Drifter(B)

Execute a 750-meter drift in a race in Single Player mode.

Only found one level where this is close to possible but my max was 710m (whilst racing that is). If you find a large open space you can achieve this. Best to do it in a time trial, that way other opponents can’t get in your way. Please see video below to see the best place to get this!

See Way Bigger Air trophy description.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/36.jpg Way Bigger Air (B)

Complete a jump with an air time of 4 seconds or more in a race in Single Player mode.

If you do not get this whilst playing the game normally then you are doing something wrong. Just play the last level in the last grand prix set and the first jump is a guaranteed 4 seconds. See video on Omni-Trickster trophy description.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/41.jpg Omni-Trickster (S)

Complete 10 4X stunt combos while racing in Single Player mode.

I only found one race; it is the grey planet level on the last grand prix. It’s the first jump in the game, so just do three laps, three times and you have almost done it. Please see my video below for a demonstration.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/42.jpg Air Show (B)

Take out an opponent with a power-up while the opponent is airborne in Single Player mode.

The best way to get this is to lay a mine in the air as soon as you go up a ramp. Other ways is to hit people mid-air with your defence power on, or to shoot people in front of you with the splash weapon. Will likely come through game progression.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/43.jpg Leapfrog (B)

Pass an opponent by jumping over/past them in Single Player mode.

This will come naturally, if for some reason not, just replay a level with lots of jumps (which is all levels bar the very first).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/44.jpg Absolutely Smashing (B)

Successfully bump an opponent by landing on him in Single Player mode.

Most likely and hopefully come naturally, otherwise, the description is enough information, with some good timing and a lot of luck, you will prevail!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/45.jpg Unstoppable! (B)

Win a race by tumbling or spinning over the finish line in Single Player mode

Very easy, just win a race on the Galvan Gorge level, there is a jump that lands you on the finish line, do a trick just before you land and you will spin over it! See the video below for help!

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNbVvQAqxzM]Ben 10: Galactic Racing - Trophy Guide - Unstoppable! - YouTube[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/46.jpg Close Call (B)

Win a race by less than a second in Single Player mode.

If you don’t get this by the end of the game (like me) then you will have to keep racing on a track you are good at. Use :triangle: to see behind you and you will be able to tell whether to slow down or not just before the end!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/47.jpg Give 'Em the Slip (B)

Pass an opponent while drifting in Single Player mode.

You will get this without trying, just hold :l2: whilst accelerating and eventually you will drift past someone!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/48.jpg Codon Infusion (G)

Unlock all of the characters in the game.

To unlock extra characters you will need to achieve golds in the Grand Prix’s.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/49.jpg Kart Collector (S)

Unlock all of the karts in the game.

To unlock different Karts you must beat different time trials. The following time trial levels will unlock different Karts:

Rust Bucket - Necrofriggen Valley

Vreedle Truck - Rubble Ramble

Plasma Tank - Tidal Tundra

Plumber Ship - Azmuth's Forge

Ship - Whirlpool Core

See the roadmap to unlock the final Kart if you have not done so already.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/50.jpg Galactic Racing Champion (S)

Win a trophy on every Grand Prix circuit.

See Ultimate Trophy Room trophy description.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1143/51.jpg Ultimate Trophy Room(G)

Win a first place trophy on every Grand Prix circuit.

See the roadmap for tips. You do not need to achieve Gold trophies on EVERY race, just the overall score, this can work in your favour or against you, if you achieve a first, a first and a last, yet the opponent achieves straight seconds, then you will not get a gold and so on. Just keep practicing; I had done this at about 4 hours into starting it!

That concludes my AWESOME guide… only my second so advice is welcome!

Awaiting Trophy Tiles... any advice on how I could upload them would be appreciated.

Overview:

- Estimated trophy difficulty: Mine: 1.5/10 PS3Trophies.org: 3.1/10

- Offine trophies: 51 (1, 2, 9, 39)

- Online trophies: 0

- Approximate amount of time to : 8 - 12 hours (Skill Dependent)

- Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1

- Number of missable trophies: 0

- Glitched trophies: 0 (reported as of yet)

- Do cheat codes disable trophies: No. See below, can only use cheat to unlock a new Kart but it doesn’t affect trophies.

Now if you are like me, the first hour on this game you will feel like this platinum is unachievable. I found it VERY VERY hard, I could not get better then fifth place. However after my first hour I got into it and owned every race first time!

Things to remember before you start

Two of the most tiresome trophies to get in this game are “Outa My Way!!!!!” and “Not Even A Scratch”.

Just play, race and go..

Use drift – holding R2 and L2 will start a drift, this earns valuable boosts whilst building up your defensive super power

Tricks – Every time you jump or go up a ramp make sure to do a trick, this will build up you super offensive power which has the potential of wiping out every other player if used wisely!

Start off boost – See video below for the timing, but starting to accelerate at the correct time will give you a boost off the start!

Ultimate Racer! (P)

Platinuuuum!

Well, no prizes for knowing what you need to do for this one…. Actually there is a prize, go and feel good about yourself… (unlock other trophies!)

Beginner's Luck complete (B)

Complete the Beginner's Luck circuit in third place or higher.

See "Ultimate Trophy Room" for a few tips, this is the first grand prix circuit, I actually found this the hardest but aim for a gold overall to unlock all characters (you will HAVE to do this anyway in order to platinum).

Freezeway Jungle Complete (B)

Complete the Freezeway Jungle circuit in third place or higher.

See "Ultimate Trophy Room" for a few tips, this is the secondt grand prix circuit, aim for a gold overall to unlock all characters (you will HAVE to do this anyway in order to platinum).

Wet Wasteland complete (B)

Complete the Wet Wasteland circuit in third place or higher.

See "Ultimate Trophy Room" for a few tips, this is the third grand prix circuit, aim for a gold overall to unlock all characters (you will HAVE to do this anyway in order to platinum).

Null Prime Complete (B)

Complete the Null Prime circuit in third place or higher.

See "Ultimate Trophy Room" for a few tips, this is the fourth grand prix circuit, aim for a gold overall to unlock all characters (you will HAVE to do this anyway in order to platinum).

Snow Drifter (B)

Beat the Track Best time in a Time Trial on any Kylmyys track.

Kylmyys is the ice planet (blue and white) pieces. It’s the one where all the levels are snowy. Go through the races and find one that has this blue-white planet pop up when hovering over the level, the target time will also pop up so remember it! I found all of the time trials incrediby easy so good luck.

Trash Truckin' (B)

Beat the Track Best time in a Time Trial on any Vulpin Track.

Vulpin is the red planet. Go through the races and find one that has this red planet pop up when hovering over the level, the target time will also pop up so remember it! I found all of the time trials incredibly easy so good luck.

So far I have only completed all the circuits in 1st place, but would like to share some observations and possible tips:

- As you complete a circuit in 1st place, you unlock a new character. Use that! The new characters can all drive that fastest kart that you unlocked as per instruction at the beginning of the guide. I find that when driving that same kart, the newer characters tend to be faster. So switch to the latest character that you unlocked, don't keep playing as Ben. (I hope I am not imagining this :))

- Since you already have the fastest kart, I would suggest try NOT to drift much, especially when it's not necessary to do so. When you drift, you usually will be taking the outer edge, which is a longer distance, and when firing off the boost, it may not always go the direction you want and can be counter-productive. Often it is faster to just make a sharp turn using the inner corner. And if you use the drift button to help take a sharp corner, just tap and release. You don't have to fully charge it every time you drift. Attempting to hold on to drift button to charge can often be counter-productive too, so be smart about it. (Of course, there are advantages of drifting, like the boost and filling up the defense meter when it's not already full.)

- For the stunt trophies (double trouble, triple threat, omni trickster), note that consecutive stunts in the same direction don't count, for example, left right right left counts as 3x combo instead of 4.

BTW, in the guide, Counter Measure trophy:

If you have any weapon that shoots forward, by holding back on the right stick, you can shoot it backwards. If you see a red exclamation mark onscreen, then you are about to be attacked by something. Shoot your weapon backwards and hopefully you will destroy the incoming attack.
I think that should be left stick. You can't possibly be holding the right stick down to aim backwards and pressing the fire button, cos the stick and button both require the same right thumb :) Edited by Pierce

The Nothing but Maximum Skill trophy did not pop for me. I have done the other 2 but when I did the same on the 7th (of 8) circuit, no trophy. I will try again later, but I think it has to do with the defense power. The first two trophies I did use defensive power to protect myself near the end. In the third one, I use defense power to bump opponents out of the way. Perhaps using defensive power offensively will fail the trophy requirement.

Edit: I have beaten the Codon Climb race from 7th (ie. second last) circuit, both in grand prix and in single race, without using any omni-node, offensive or defensive power. Nothing. Eventually did it on another track (same planet) from the 8th (last) circuit (using defensive power once at the end, btw) in single race mode and got the trophy. I think you cannot just "choose a race featured in either last or penultimate grand prix", it has to be in the last grand prix.
