Introduction:

Battle: Los Angeles is a First Person Shooter with a short campaign (about an hour per playthrough). The control scheme is similar to most other FPS games currently on the market and is therefore relatively easy to learn. The trophies themselves are a combination of story related trophies, complete the game on X difficulty, and get X kills with this weapon. The important thing to note with is that the three difficulty trophies are NOT stackable, and the campaign must be completed three times in order to 100% the game.

Recommended Path:

Playthrough 1: Hard Difficulty

I recommend starting your first playthrough on the hardest difficulty simply to knock out Sergeant Major. The difficulty of this game is very easy to adjust to, particularly if you already play FPS games. Additionally, during this playthrough you should aim to achieve Long Range, Hummer, and Rocketman.

Playthrough 2: Normal Difficulty

Now that you've played through the game once on Hard and are familiar with the maps and enemies, Normal difficulty should present few if any challenges. Additionally, since you are now familiar with the position of cover and the enemies, you should pick up Color Me Impressed if you missed getting it in your first playthrough.

Playthrough 3: Easy Difficulty

Simply use this playthrough to mop up any weapons trophies you may have missed and to just go nuts on some invading alien jerks.

Post Campaign

At any point after beating the campaign once, be sure to check out one of your unlocked videos from the main menu in order to get Seen Your Video.

Alternatively, beating the campaign on Easy unlocks a game mod that gives the aliens giant heads, making headshots easier and enemies easier to kill. Therefore, completing your Easy playthrough first will make your subsequent playthroughs easier. Credit to Aeirou for this tip.

Destroy the gas station.

Story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=B:LA1]During the second mission, you will have to provide sniper fire for Nantz at the gas station. Once you have killed enough aliens, you will be signaled to shoot the gas tank of a truck and blow up the alien space craft, after which the trophy should pop.

Survive the pool attack.

Story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=B:LA2]During the first mission, your squad will be traveling through backyards and you will encounter a yard with a swimming pool. As you approach the pool, the game will go into slow motion as aliens pop out from the pool and roof to ambush you. This trophy will pop after you kill these aliens.

Call in the airstrike to defeat the Command Center.

Story related and cannot be missed.

[spoiler=B:LA3]During the final mission, you will exit the sewers and have to provide Nantz with cover fire while he provides a target for the bomb strike. Keep killing aliens until a cut scene occurs, after which the trophy will pop.

Watch an unlocked video.

To unlock a video, you must complete the campaign (any difficulty will work as there are locked videos associated with all three). Once you've beaten the campaign, simply select unlockables from the main menu and choose any video to view.

Complete the entire campaign on Normal Difficulty (as mentioned above, the difficulty trophies do not stack so this MUST be done on Normal Difficulty).

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/951/07.jpgLong Rangehttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_bronze.png

Kill 20 enemies with a sniper rifle.

In Hard Difficulty (if not all the time) the sniper rifle will typically be your weapon of choice. It is almost always a better idea to hang back from your squad and pick away the aliens at a distance with your sniper rifle than to go charging at them with your assault rifle. While in Hard Difficulty, the aliens can survive quite a bit of assault rifle fire but are still vulnerable to a well aimed sniper shot, making this weapon a must use during that playthrough. You'll encounter 20 enemies very quickly in the game and will be able to knock this trophy out fairly early on in the first mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/951/08.jpgColor Me Impressedhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.png

Complete a mission on Normal without dying, failing, restarting, or continuing campaign.

As the trophy says, you must complete a full mission on Normal difficulty without once failing or jumping into a checkpoint. If you play on Hard difficulty first, this is easy to obtain in a second Normal playthrough using your prior knowledge of the maps and enemy locations. If you need to start a new file to achieve this, the first mission ends once your squad has made it to the police station.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/951/09.jpgHummerhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.png

Kill 15 enemies on the HMV turret.

There are two times in the game where you have access to an HMV turret (one of the turrets mounted on the armor Humvee looking vehicles). In each part there will be more than 15 enemies around and the turret cannot overheat or run out of ammo, so simply hold down the trigger and let loose on some aliens.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/951/10.jpgRocketmanhttp://www.ps3trophies.org/images/site/icons/trophy_silver.png

Kill 2 aliens with one Rocket.

This trophy is likely the hardest to achieve because there are so few instances in the campaign where you actually have the rocket launcher and there are 2 aliens that close to one another.

I found the best opportunity for this trophy is directly after you first shoot down an alien spacecraft using your rocket launcher. Right after this boss fight, you will climb down a ladder and head down an alley to a small parking lot where aliens will be shooting at you from the roof. After killing these aliens, you head down another alley directly to your left, where two aliens pop out to block your path. They will be standing right next to each other and this is the perfect opportunity to blow them both up.

Complete the game on Hard Difficulty.

Complete the entire campaign on Hard Difficulty.

Some general tips:

  • Don't be afraid to hang back further behind your squad. The aliens will typically fire at your squad and you can keep your distance and pick them off with the sniper rifle.
  • Always stay close to cover. Your health can disappear quickly in the larger firefights and you always want an escape plan to hide and let yourself heal before continuing the fight.
  • Go for headshots as the aliens at this difficulty are able to take quite a bit of fire to the rest of the body without going down.

Unlock all the unlockables.

There are unlockables for beating the game on each difficulty, so this trophy will unlock once you have successfully completed the game on all three difficulty levels.

Is anyone having an issue with this game freezing alot. It freezes on me 3 to 5 time per hour.

That's weird, it didn't freeze on my once. Is there any kind of pattern to where it messes up for you? Also, have you had any problems with trophies glitching on you? I hadn't heard any complaints about this yet, I just wanted to pay attention in case people start running into issues.

I have 100% trophies no glitches. When the game freezes it either at a checkpoint, viewing the comics, & 3 times when you first use the turret.

no freezes or trophy glitches for me, but the trees outside the pool area, and the 2 aliens you said to aim at for "rocketman", were normal first then turned green, pink & purple. but it only happened on my hard playthru. didnt affect gameplay, just distracting.

Wow, that's a weird glitch.

Welcome to the site by the way, and I like the screen name, I'm a big Always Sunny fan.

Another glitch I found is that every once in a while I run into a alien that won't die I put about 100 bullets in it & it wouldnt die had to reload the checkpoint then it worked fine done that 3 times for me.

This is the ONLY glitch i faced and i got all the trophys hours after the game was released.I shot this alien in the head at least 30 times with a sniper and he wouldnt die so i switched to m16 then back to sniper and it died 1 shot lol

This happent sometime during my playthroughs as well, it seems like they where to far away or something - they wouldn't die, eventhough I hit them right between the eyes, was able to kill them when I got close.

- The Rocketman Trophy is the only one that seems to give me trouble, I did it 3 or 4 times on my easy playthrough and the trophy didn't pop - I think maybe the other guy was shooting at them at the same time, I'll try again later. After beating the game 3 times, i don't feel like doing it again right now.

I'm having issues with this as well. Also can't get the trophy for blowing up two aliens to pop up.

Edit-

Finally got Rocketman once game didn't freeze and I was able to shoot the two aliens without loading a save.

Yeah Rocketman is the only one that gave me trouble as well.I shot the rocket in between the 2 aliens that popped around the corner a lil after u get it.I got ahead of that guy so that i was close and shot em right in front of me instead of standing back and it popped.Get past the guy crouching or he will kill one and its easier to angle it close on them.

im glad its easy but the game looks like it sucks. idk lol, i wanna try out the demo first if they ever have one.

Lol I don't think that they'd come out with a demo for a game this short. The campaign itself is only about an hour long and any normal length demo would be a big chunk of that time.

damn, was about to buy it but couldn't find the game in my PS Store anywhere.

Go to Games and the PSN Games and you'll find it in the B list section. Or you could just search for it in the search section in the upper right hand corner by your wallet's funds command. Then just type in the title of the game you're looking for.

It dosent suck its actually fun, just very very short. I think it be a good full length game if someone else made it or went farther with it

Agreed. I kind of wish they had fleshed it out with more missions that maybe weren't in the movie, maybe with other squads or after the events of the movie.

Thanks for the guide.

Just finished my first playthrough, I actually found it pretty enjoyable. It makes me wonder how it could have been if they fleshed it out a bit and put a tad more polish on it (maybe some more weapons), And although the voice acting was meh I enjoyed the comic book style cut scenes.

For a 10$ game that I'll get 3 playthroughs and some trophies out of it's fun.
