Welcome to Bakugan, Bakugan Brawl! - Introduction

Bakugan Battle Brawlers (The Video Game) is based on an anime TV show that airs on Cartoon Network. You create your own character, and you start off as a newbie. You become best friends with Dan, the main character in the TV series and you two later team up along with other friends like Ryno, Shun and Julie to stop the Dark Dimension from taking over. Your Bakugan (Leonidas) is from the Dark Dimension and in his mind, he wants to take over the world. Can you turn your Bakugan from evil to good?

Gameplay

At first, Bakugan looks like a complicated set up. But trust me it isn't. Well, it might be for your 1st battle...but you'll get the hang of it in about 5 battles. Your deck contains a maximum of 3 Bakugan, 3 Ability Cards and 3 Gate Cards.

What are Gate Cards?

The Bakugan Gate Cards are cards that the Bakugan "stand" on and battle for.

Each of the Bakugan Gate Cards has 6 G-Power boosts, these attribute bonuses have the various attribute icons (Pyrus, Aquos, Darkus, etc.) and are added to the Bakugan when they battle on the card. The Bakugan Gate Cards come in either Silver, Gold or Copper.

What are Ability Cards?

There are three types of Ability Cards. One can give you extra G-Power boosts depending on what Bakugan you and/or your opponent uses. The other can change the rules of the mini-games. The last one can be simply destroying your opponent's battle item.

About the Trophies

There are 52 bronze trophies in this game. Personally, this is my first trophy game that has this amount of bronze. Most of them are grind trophies. If you love to grind and grind then this game is for you. I also noticed, we have way more trophies in this game then the 360 version of this game.

Walkthrough:

1 - Do Story Mode until you complete Supreme Tag Team Tournament

When you start up the game for the first time, you have to pick an attribute for your Leonidas Bakugan. DO NOT PICK HAOS. You will find it extra difficult to fight the final boss with that attribute.

Simply complete the Neo Challengers and Supreme Tag Team tournaments. You will get the "Intermediate" Trophy when you successfully completed the tournament.

1.5 - Grind in Park as much as you can

If you want an easier way to get Grand Battle Brawler, Reliable Battle Brawler and Mighty Battle Brawler...then this is a great time to do it now. Go to the park, and try to get most wins on each mode to get these trophies. Of course you can skip this step...but let me tell you this. Once you begin the Brave Battlers Tournament, the difficulty of each CPU increases. All CPU characters are on "Easy", but as you progress in story their difficulty goes to "Normal", and towards the end of the story, "Hard". Therefore this will make things more harder for you to get these three trophies. So if you want a simple easy wins for all these trophies, do this now. Skip this step if you want to grind with Normal/Hard CPUs.

(I would like to thank hermdog006 for warning us about this).

2 - Complete the Story Mode

Just complete all the tournaments. There are 4 Tournaments to go. Please note, that there will be an extra opponent to battle after the final of these tournaments.

  • Brave Brawlers
  • Maximum Power
  • Bakugan Master Cup
  • Ultimate Battle Tournament

3 - Story Mode Clean Up

Now this is where the real grinding starts. You need to build up a lot of Bakugan points to purchase every Bakugan and every card in store. If you didn't get Grand Battle Brawler, Reliable Battle Brawler and Mighty Battle Brawler trophies before this step, then you'll have to do this now. Please note ALL CPUs are set to Hard. (You can't change their difficulty).

Meanwhile, you'll have to go the park and beat every single character in a 1-on-1/Battle Royale battle at least once. It's important to keep checking on the Bulletin Board for updates.

4 - Battle Arena Mode

This is very easy but time consuming. You can spend another pointless 1 to 2 hours in this mode. You'll have to play with each character (make sure 1P plays as every character, there are no shortcuts) and play in every battlefield. If you didn't get the Special Shot trophies or the Staying Power trophy, this would be the perfect and the easiest time to do this.

Battlefield Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/17.jpgMiracle Shot (B)

Collect ten or more G-Power Pick-Ups in one shot.

Just collect 10 G-Power Pick-Ups in any stage. You should get this in the early stages of the tournament. It must be all done in one shot. Meaning you must collect 10 of them before you make your Bakugan stand. If not, go to the park and set a battlefield on Easy. Please note, "Arena" and "Standard" battlefields has NO G-Power Pick-Ups on any difficulty.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/18.jpgUltra Shot (B)

Collect three or more Hyper Ability Cards in one shot.

Hyper Ability Cards are usually hidden in passages or placed in areas that can be difficult to get. Jamming, Mirror, Damage Field, Barrier and Confusion are Hyper Ability Cards. You only need to collect 3. It must be all done in one shot. Meaning you must collect 3 of them before you make your Bakugan stand.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/19.jpgGreat Shot (B)

Collect three or more Battle Items in one shot.

This can be a toughie, however still doable. Battle items are in those breakable crystals you see hanging in the air around the battlefield. If you still can't get this, then use this tip found by SnowSakura from x360achievements.org (Thank you~!):

"Play on "Haos" on hard and go through the ramp on the left which should send you flying and the effect sends you out of a tiger mouth, Once out you should see 3 crystals on the way down , steer yourself to hit at least 2/3 of them and then steer yourself to the same type of ramp on the other side and repeat."

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/20.jpgAmazing Shot (B)

Collect three or more Fuel Pick-Ups in one shot.

This is easy. Just pick up 3 tubes filled with green liquid in one shot and this trophy will unlock. You must collect 3 of them before you make your Bakugan stand.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/21.jpgSmashing Shot (B)

Break an obstacle on the battlefield.

The easiest shot trophy. Just aim for a crystal, change the shot type from Normal to Power and throw your Bakugan in full power to smash that crystal. Trophy unlocked.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/33.jpgSteering Ace (B)

Steer a Bakugan for at least ten seconds.

This can be done in your first battle. If not, get a Bakugan with a better endurance or upgrade your Bakugan's endurance in the store. Simply shoot your Bakugan and steer it around the gate cards by holding the R2 button and using SIXAXIS to turn left and right. Just steer it for at least 10 seconds then the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/34.jpgSubterra Smasher (B)

Win a battle using the Subterra Quake Special Shot.

See "Aquos Spiraler".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/35.jpgPyrus Striker (B)

Win a battle using the Pyrus Strike Special Shot.

See "Aquos Spiraler".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/36.jpgHaos Light-Bringer (B)

Win a battle using the Haos Lightning Special Shot.

See "Aquos Spiraler".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/37.jpgVentus Stormer (B)

Win a battle using the Ventus Storm Special Shot.

See "Aquos Spiraler".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/38.jpgDarkus Phantom (B)

Win a battle using the Darkus Phantom Special Shot.

See "Aquos Spiraler".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/39.jpgAquos Spiraler (B)

Win a battle using the Aquos Spiral Special Shot.

You cannot do a Special Shot unlock you upgrade a Bakugan to at least Level 5 from the store. So I recommend to upgrade one Bakugan to Level 5 in each attribute. To use a special shot you must wait for your gauge to fill up and then successfully win a battle against the opponent's Bakugan during the same shot you used the special shot. If you want this quickly, play Battle Royale battles. This will fill up your gauge much quicker.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/40.jpgShaking Master (B)

Win five Shaking Battles in a row.

Just win this minigame 5 times in a row. Doesn't matter what level it is.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/41.jpgShaking Guru (B)

Win five Level 3 Shaking Battles in a row.

When you approach a Shaking Battle, you must rapidly shake your PS3 controller (using SIXAXIS).

  • Level 1 - Just shake your PS3 controller up and down as fast you can.
  • Level 2 - Same as above, but now has a "Don't Shake!" meaning you should stop shaking otherwise your G-Power will decrease.
  • Level 3 - You shake up and down and at random times asks you to shake left and right.

To unlock this trophy, you must win Level 3 Shaking battles 5 times in a row. You won't approach a Level 3 battle until you play a CPU in hard.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/42.jpgShooting Master (B)

Win five Shooting Battles in a row.

See "Shaking Master".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/43.jpgShooting Guru (B)

Win five Level 3 Shooting Battles in a row.

Shooting battles involve players shooting their current Bakugan's attribute symbol. They must be quick at shooting them all to get the highest number of points.

Use the left analog stick (:ls:) and use :r2: to shoot your attribute.

  • Level 1 - Simple, just shoot your Bakugan's attribute.
  • Level 2 - The Gold yen appears. Hitting it clears the attributes in the field and if your Bakugan's attribute symbols were on the field you get extra points.
  • Level 3 - Gold yen appears more often

To unlock this trophy, you must win Level 3 Shooting battles 5 times in a row. You won't approach a Level 3 battle until you play a CPU in hard.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/44.jpgTiming Master (B)

Win five Timing Battles in a row.

See "Shaking Master".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/45.jpgTiming Guru (B)

Win five Level 3 Timing Battles in a row.

Timing Battles are when players must use the :cross:, :square: and the Shake (SIXAXIS) feature in a certain pattern.

  • Level 1 - Only you can use the :cross: button.
  • Level 2 - :square: button has been added. Sometimes you must hit :square: and :cross: at the same time.
  • Level 3 - Shake (SIXAXIS) has been added. You must shake your controller at times.

To unlock this trophy, you must win Level 3 Timing battles 5 times in a row. You won't approach a Level 3 battle until you play a CPU in hard.

To perform a Sphere Attack, aim at an opponent's Bakugan (the target circle will be on red...make you sure you aim for the bottom of the opponent's Bakugan).... you must choose a Bakugan which has great speed, switch the Shot Type to "POWER" and shoot your Bakugan in full power.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/55.jpgSubterra Master (B)

Win twenty battles using Subterra Bakugan.

These trophies are not in the 360 version of the game. Which is more grinding for us! Anyway, simply win 20 battles for each attribute. Meaning:-

Aquos = 20 gate card battle wins

Ventus = 20 gate card battle wins

Darkus = 20 gate card battle wins

...you get the point. Can be with any Bakugan.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/56.jpgStand Your Ground (B)

Perform twenty Double Stands.

Another exclusive trophy for the PS3! Simply put two of your own Bakugan on the same card to perform a double stand. Sometimes a menu comes up. You must pick "Take Card".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/57.jpgStaying Power (B)

Perform five Stays.

Another exclusive trophy for the PS3! Skyripper (Thank you Skyripper~!) has an easiest way of performing a stay. It's impossible to do this with a CPU...even on easy.

Go to Battle Arena, select Change Player Options (:triangle:), and add a second player.

On the next screen select Game Options and make sure Gate Cards are set to Manual. Pick a stage.

Both Controllers put down your gate card. On Player 1's turn hit triangle to put down another gate card. Throw your Bakugan on any one of those cards.

On Player 2's turn, just miss the cards altogether. this will end your turn.

On Player 1's turn, place a Bakugan on another EMPTY CARD. Do not perform a Double Stand, that's not what we want.

Once you have 3 Bakugans down, Repeat the Step in which you skip Player 2's turn 3 times, this will allot you a stay. Repeat this process to get the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/30.jpgGrand Battle Brawler (B)

Win fifty 1 on 1 Battles in Story Mode.

See "Mighty Battle Brawler".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/31.jpg Reliable Battle Braweler (B)

Win twenty Tag Team Battles in Story Mode.

They spelt Brawler wrong...urgh. Anyway see "Mighty Battle Brawler".

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/32.jpg Mighty Battle Brawler (B)

Win twenty Battle Royales in Story Mode.

Win 20 full battles in each mode to get this trophy. Try and aim for this while getting the "Where Can I Put Them All?" trophy to make things much easier.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/46.jpgBattle Professional (G)

Win ten Gate Cards in a row.

Basically win 10 mini game battles in a row. You must get this trophy before the Brave Battlers tournament in story mode otherwise things might get ugly. If not, then go to Battle Arena and use a second controller to win win win. (1P must win though).

Battle Arena Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/28.jpgThrough Their Eyes (B)

Play as every character in Battle Arena Mode.

Timeeeeee consuming. You can use a second controller to have easier 1-on-1's...but 1P MUST play as every character. I repeat, only 1P must play as every character otherwise it won't unlock. You must complete the story in Story Mode to unlock all characters.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/257/29.jpgTourist (B)

Play in every battlefield in Battle Arena Mode.

You will get this while aiming for "Through their Eyes" trophy. Just play on every battlefield in this mode. You must complete story in Story Mode to unlock all battlefields.

Very nice looking guide! I'm still planning to check out Bakugan at some point in the future, but it's been kind of on the backburner as I'm playing though ACII and GoWC (and some PS2 games). I'm glad someone put together a trophy guide though! It makes me want to play the game more.

Thank you! I hope this guidie helps when you pick Bakugan up! =D

Just to let you know you are missing the Bakugan King Silver Trophy:)

Great looking guide :D

Whoa! Well spotted! Thanks! It will be a quick addition because it's another cannot be missed trophy. XP

And thank you so much! I spent 4 hours on this. >.<

the cheats do not disable trophies. i used all of them and have been raking them in. up to almost 40% in about 4 hours.

oh and for the stay trophy, komba, on easy, seems very prone to missing. ive gotten 3 stays on him so far

Whoa, whoa, whoaaa! No need to triple post! XP

Cheats do not disable trophies? Are you really sure? =o

About the stays, that doesn't mean it will happen everytime...the safest way to get it is the one that's on my trophy guide right now.
