Introduction:

 

Marty McFly and Doc Brown return in a new Back to the Future adventure - Episode 2: Get Tannen, from Telltale Games. This time around, Doc Brown needs rescue from troubling ripples in the space time continuum that occur during 1931’s era of Prohibition. Interact with new characters such as gang boss Kid Tannen and young Emmett Brown (Doc’s younger self) as you try to again set the timeline right.

 

Roadmap:

 

Playthrough 1

This is certainly an enjoyable game to simply play and enjoy the storyline but you won't likely earn all trophies in one playthrough without a walkthrough or roadmap. There are a number of missable trophies if you choose this route but you can save at the beginning of each sequence if you wish to later have any easy cleanup run. Just remember to save at the start of each sequence but not in the first spot where autosave can overwrite it. There is an in-game hint system available and revealing any in-game hints does not affect the earning of any trophies.

 

If you choose to use either the trophy spoilers or the walkthrough the missable trophies are: A Minumum of Panic, Tuned Out, Door Prize, Chucklehead, Demystifier, Escape Artist, and Tannen Tamer. They will also be earnable in the order listed. The trophy guide section is designed to provide very little story details (outside of the spoilers) to assist with your enjoyment of the game. Use of the walkthrough spoiler will, however, provide the quickest steps to 100%.

 

Playthrough 2 (Optional Game Save Clean-Up)

If you've missed any of the 7 missable trophies you can now reload to the beginning of certain levels for section related playthroughs. Keep in mind that you may need to play through 3 or 4 sections in a row for a majority of the missable trophies but an entire second playthrough is not required.

 

Walkthrough Key:

 

  • Interact - Indicates to highlight the named item, by selecting it with the right stick, and press the :cross: button.
  • Interact in Inventory - Indicates to press :square: to choose an item from inventory to place into your hand.
  • * Conversation - Indicates the conversation that should be selected and whom that conversation is with.
  • Move - Indicates the need to move Marty, to a listed location or person, with the left stick.
  • Trophy - Indicates the precise location of where that trophy will unlock in the storyline.
  • Exit with :circle: - Indicates to exit dialogue as continued conversation is not necessary.

Rescue Arthur with minimal fuss

This is a missable trophy. The opportunity for this trophy will only come when you are attempting to rescue Artie from the speakeasy, where he is being held captive. This must be done in a minimal amount of steps. Check here if you are having trouble:

Enjoy a full set from Hill Valley's leading songstress

This is a missable trophy. While choosing sheet music in the speakeasy for Trixie to sing to, choose all the available song types from the sheet music selections. Check here for more:

Break the password code without cheating

This is a missable trophy. What you have to do is match the last syllable from the doorman's sentence with the first syllable of your answer. Note: DO NOT look at the piece of paper you picked up from the counter in the speakeasy (while rescuing Artie) AT ANY TIME (while in inventory). Subtitles and hints are helpful and do not effect obtaining trophy. The dialog is random every time and here are some examples to learn the basics:

 

Q. What do I spy with my little EYE?

A. I spy a dry guy.

 

Q. Do you know what's down beLOW?

A. LOW lifes and vermin.

 

Q. Why should I let you IN?

A. IN case I get thirsty.

Find 'Chuckles Lenart'

This is a missable trophy. This can be achieved as soon as you enter the speakeasy for the second time (after the door password puzzle is used to get in). As soon as you enter, near the exit, search the wall beside Zane. There are caricatures hanging on the wall there; press :cross: on them 3 times. Note: There are two sets of caricatures so choose the ones nearest the exit.

Get a full explanation of your situation

This is a missable trophy. The opportunity for this trophy comes after leaving the speakeasy looking to find Arthur for Trixie. As soon as you leave the Speakeasy, you will see Arthur going by on a bus. Head towards the park area and talk with young Emmett (inside gazebo). After this chat, head inside the Majestic Arms Inn (Flophouse) and have a talk with Doc Brown. Choose all conversation options until "Run This Through For Me..." appears. Choose it to have Doc explain things in detail, and the trophy will unlock.

Find a hidden passageway

This is a missable trophy. This requires retrieving codes from behind the bar while dealing with the three gangsters (while attempting to rescue Artie). You'll later enter the codes as a bet at the roulette wheel (in the speakeasy) by speaking to the Croupier. The option appears only after the arsonist information cutscene AND you have observed Kid Tannen use this route to leave. Check here for more:

 

[spoiler=567]After seeing Kid Tannen leave through this hidden passage, approach the roulette table and bet on 7, 23, & 30.

Dry a cop out

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. Officer Parker must be convinced to stop drinking and again focus on the arrest of Kid Tannen. Check here for more:

 

[spoiler=789]Get Officer Parker to open up to you about his troubles, while in the speakeasy, by playing sad and secret music. After he has confided in you that he is working for Kid Tannen, swap Edna's lyrics for the lyrics of the song "I Don't Care". Once you select the new song "You Should Care" (Sheet Music selection) for Trixie to sing, Officer Parker will decide to again stand up against Kid Tannen.

Get a gangster's girl to do the right thing

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. Convince Trixie to once again go against Kid Tannen and provide evidence for his arrest. Check here for more:

 

[spoiler=098]After Trixie has been promised by Kid Tannen that Artie will not be harmed, convince her that Artie has actually been killed. Using the picture you have of George McFly, get a caricature made by Zane to place on the "Wall of Fame" (people killed by Kid Tannen). Once the caricature is up, approach Trixie and tell her that Artie is now on the wall. She will be convinced Artie is dead and decide to provide incriminating evidence, about Kid Tannen, to Officer Parker.

Defeat the Tannen Brothers in six jumps

This is a missable trophy. Soon after you return to 1986, the Tannen Brothers show up to the front of Marty's house. Get Biff Tannen to smash the bug zapper, with his bat, in six moves. Note: Conversation doesn't matter during this sequence. Check here for more:

for your (Escape Artist) now you said WHILE rescuing Artie right......well you know you cant get out from behind the bar at that point cause as soon as you take care of the goons he goes right to Artie, so therefore you dont even have a chance to enter that code, you have to wait till you come back Trixie is singing

Well it has to be during the scene where you rescue Artie as you can't get behind the bar because the sketch artist, Zane is tending the bar. When you are crouched behind the bar (not looking over the counter) you have to walk all the way to the right and keep moving the right analog stick until you see numbers.

minimum of panic didn't work for me twice ... everything else works finde ... perhaps you don't have to push the panic button twice?

Yeah I think pressing the panic button while NMatches is fumbling around for it causes a bit of "fuss". Im not sure, but I couldn't get the trophy to unlock after pressing it while Matches is trying to. Its safer to let him push the switch back himself.

 

not sure about the minimum of panic method posted in the guide, but heres how i got it:

 

First grab chloroform and put it in the ink bottle(Zane is out)

Then use sign switch(Cueball leaves)

Press panic button, and wait til matches presses it

Grab bottle then press panic button again

Use Bottle on Matches

Yup, thats the way I have it posted in my walkthrough aswell. Works like a charm!

Yup, thats the way I have it posted in my walkthrough aswell. Works like a charm!

 

I suspect that it may be based on number of moves because I got the trophy without reading the note or checking the numbers under the bar. Ill correct that one part and take the second button press out just because Matches can do it himself. Thanks for the input from everyone.

I must be an idiot. i got the numbers under bar, but cannot seem to figure out how to use them to bet on the table. Am I missing something here? help if ya would.

 

Just make sure you have aquired them at first. Later, a scene will come where Kid Tannen is told information about the speakeasy arsonist and he will leave by way of a gambling table (roulette). After he leaves this way you will approach the guy at that table and place a bet on those numbers. The selection for the numbers is low on the choices and you should pan down to see them.

Yes I think I remember saying the word "effect" in my head and maybe I didn't type it. hehe. I was working on it for quite a long time and I am surprised it makes sense at all. Thanks so much for the catch.

Just raced thru game again to get the only trophy I can't figure out (escape artist). No other options to bet on but the usual, black, red, even, odd, and double zero. I am lost on this one.

 

Are you getting the code from under the bar when you are supposed to be rescuing Artie from the 3 gangsters?

Thought I would mention an Easter Egg found by AdamsGameReview and mentioned in another thread. When you are in the speakeasy, and Trixie is not singing, you can interact with the microphone for a special "added experience". Thanks AdamsGameReview for finding this for us and sharing!
