Helpful glitch in Sequence 4, Mission 6

Sequence 4, Mission 6 - The Secret of the Cenote

 

This is some random glitch i came across when playing AC:L so far i haven't seen this anywhere else so i (KARLspurgin) am taking credit for finding this. If someone else already has found it let me no and ill make sure credit is given where needed.

 

I feel like i should let everyone know about this because it involves not taking any damage against 5 enemies and AC:L has slow responsive counter attacks in comparison with all the other Assassin Creed games making it near impossible to counter attack when your in mid attack against someone else. This specific fight took me more then a few attempts until i found this glitch. This isn't just a one off glitch i have repeated this mission several times and came out with the same result every time. This is very easy glitch to do and hope it comes useful to you.

 

Play through the mission as normal and complete the ball tilt puzzle. Once you have done that jump down to where the artefact has raised up, then press :circle: to interact with it.

It will then cut to a cinematic with De Ferrer

As soon as the cinematic ends you will have De Ferrer and 4 other guards running towards you. Run up the ramp on the left which leads the controls for the ball tilting puzzle you just did. Ignore the random guard that you pass as you start to climb the ramp.

Run past the controls

Jump of this bit to the right of the controls back down to the main level. You will not take any damage from jumping from here. Make sure you do jump and not fall or drop down as that could resort to you taking damage. Also remember to the Left analog stick forward :lsup: as you land to make sure you roll and take no damage

When you land all the guards will then be running back down the ramp to get to you.

As soon as you land turn right

Jump down to this lower level

Once there the guards will lose sight of you if the already haven't from jumping down the first time.

Quickly go to the wall you just jumped of and stay as close to it as possible and wait until the guards are no longer looking for you.

If you are not fast enough with the previous steps then it is possible that a guard will jump down to the lower area you are on but is easy to kill and once dead no others should come down to you leaving you out of sight. If more do come then restart from the last checkpoint and repeat these steps above.

Once the guards are no longer looking for you (you can tell when the ring around your map in the lower left corner of the screen is blue and no longer red or yellow) climb back up to the main level and all the guards will be stood still and wont react to you, notice your notoriety is at zero.

You can now kill the remaining guards in which ever order you please until the next cinematic appears. Despite killing the guards in front of each other non of them will react in any way letting you complete the fight without taking any damage.

After the cinematic has been you can then carry on the rest of the mission as normal and there is no worry if you take any damage from hear onwards

Sadly, I think Ubisoft caught on to this. In Liberation HD, there's a specified playfield that extends only to the main platform. When you drop down the side, you Desynchronise because you've left the battlefield.

 

What DID work, though, was running them in circles up the ramp, then jumping off. I was able to pick them off one at a time as they came back down. In my last run, De Ferrer stayed up top, and I was able to grab a musket and shoot him from below. One shot kill. ^^d

If anyone is still struggling with this, a much easier approach is to switch your whip and kill the attackers by taping :triangle: then :square:

 

Kills the enemies instantly (quicker than a counter) and from a much greater distance.

 

I was able to pass it first time with this strategy.
