if i donwload Animus 2.0 ( free dlc) will my chances of getting into a game decrease/ get lower?

since the online isnt so active...

and when i try to join someone with the dlc, i cant join them.

but if i go to find a random match, can i still be playing with random people that doesnt have the dlc?

I don't think it'll hurt your chances of getting a match. Since Animus 2.0 is a free download most everyone should have it. The only real issue is if you try to host a party when you have DLC enabled that one of the other players doesn't. In that case you can either go into options and disable it from the multiplayer menu or allow the person without the add-ons to host.

Also, even with the DLC enabled, you can join someone who doesn't have it. So if you're searching for a random group it won't prevent you from joining games with older Animus versions enabled. They just won't be in one of the areas you have that they don't.

Thats actually not true, i know after playing this alot and trying to get people connect to each other, its best if everyone has same version.

@ wiiboy, it wont hurt you to get it since you can change it from menu, but player base is divided by dlc.

I thought this was only the case that you were trying to accept invites from friends? I know to do this you have to get the person without the DLC to invite everyone. Are you sure this is the case for ranked matches?

It has been the problem since the game was released and the biggest problem in mp, it has been talked about over and over. thats also why in Revelations the dlc was already in disc (yay buying stuff that you have already bought)

We had an issue the other night where 6 of our group had the Davinci DLC and 2 didn't. None of them could actually get either of us to enter when they hosted, yet we were able to invite them and get them all in without a problem. So it's different with the free DLC for some reason?

Could be, back when i played we found that when everyone had free dlc or no dlc it worked best and changing host probably helped. also its pretty funny but theres also some weird glitch where 2 people can never be on same room no matter what, i boosted in multiple groups and everytime two guys tried to join same game, they could connect if other was there already, othervise they conneted just fine to any other game.

You can always download it and turn it off if you are having trouble getting into games. I think it is more so a problem when trying to join specific groups via invites, all players need to have the same DLC enabled. I went back playing this last month to get (P) - Download Complete Trophy and didn't have any major issues with the match making other than what I was original getting when the game came out originally, I was playing with randoms and I pretty sure I had it the DLC turned on.

The Brotherhood player base is split into four different groups that cannot play together:

* Players without any DLC

* Players with DLC 1.0

* Players with DLC 2.0

* Players with the paid DLC 3.0

Having played the Brotherhood multiplayer throughout 2011, right up until the release of Revelations, I can safely say your best bet at finding multiplayer matches is to turn off all DLC. ACB players refer to this as DLC n00b.0, because most new players of the game play without any DLC (a lot of them aren't aware of the two free DLC packs out there).

You can turn your DLC packs on and off in the multiplayer menu, so don't be afraid that downloading DLC will forever hurt your chances of finding matches.

That isn't completely true and the awkwardness of the DL content is just strange, as we were able (with only 2.0) to play with 6 other players who had 3.0 turned on; however, we needed to host and invite them in order to do it. When the person with the higher version enabled tried to host it popped up with the message stating that they had DL content we needed to acquire in order to join them.

True enough, when you are inviting other players, you can play with each other even if some of the players who are not the host have more DLC than the host. Still, if you are playing solo, trying to find matches... you will be put in a lobby that corresponds with the DLC you have turned on and playing on DLC 1.0 or 2.0 will greatly hurt your chances of finding any. DLC 3.0 seems to do a little better, but all DLC turned off has been the best choice for pretty much the last six to seven months of 2011.

I'm doing fine finding game on 2.0. Though most games are only free for all, sadly. I only got into a few Chest Capture games & none for Alliance or any advanced games. I tried with all DLC off and it seems to be the same. On 3.0, I can't find anybody! I wanted to try Escort and can't. Ubisoft really messed this one up. Revelations multiplayer is much better. Can't say the same for the story or location though.

I've found that Wanted and Manhunt get the most games, though the game seems somewhat inconsistent about assigning me to the right type (player or ranked) when I get in, as often when I'm trying to get a player match it forces me over into a ranked one. But like you said HipHop, I tried switching around from everything off to 1.0 to 2.0 and didn't really notice any difference in finding one. Still don't have 3.0 and probably not going to pay the ten dollars to get it unless the single player convinces me it's worth it once I get around to it, though, so I can't really say about that.
