I think it's awesome At first I found the gameplay very different to top spin 3 but now I have played the demo a lot I really like it . Only another 2 weeks until release the gameplay and controls are a massive improvement over top spin 3. the hold and release mechanic in ts3 was not to everyones liking and was annoying at times. the controls in number 4 seem to be a great blend of ts3 controls and the traditional single button press controls. I liked the hold and release controls I still use it for Top Spin 4 but don't hold down as much. I'm excited to go to the top spin school and learn everything properly lol. I wish they had kept the L2 R2 risk shots. I'm still trying to get the hang of the L2 inside out shots. Also do you know how to serve faster i'm getting around 95 - 100 mph each serve. Serve and Volley has improved a lot which is great . The net cords are cool new feature but they always go against me lol . Can't wait to play the full game will be great to play a proper match

minko
First time playing a tennis game. I coulnd't wrap my head around the controls initially, but after I figured it out it's pretty enjoyable. Might give it a rent, can't see myself buying a tennis game.

Yeh the controls take a while to get used too especially when each match is only 1 tie break long lol. I have played hundreds of matches on top spin 3 and found the controls for top spin 4 very different at first lol but once you get the controls down it's a lot of fun. Enjoy renting it
Moving On
Played the demo a few times today, my first tennis game in ages (last time was on a pc, many years ago), and I liked it. Nice presentation, clever controls and a good overall feel. I just wish the demo lasted a bit longer so you could experiment with your shots more before you have to sit through the final loading screens and ads for the full game again. That saddens me. I really enjoyed the hold release mechanics in TS3. That's what made it a hardcore tennis game. I have not tried the demo yet. Didnt want to spoil it. I ordered the game already a month ago. Can't wait. But I hope they don't soften it down to anything like virtual tennis series.

Don't worry about the controls you still have to hold the buttons down for a few seconds if you want to hit a powerful shot , I just play exactly the same as Top Spin 3 control wise. Also I have heard you can unlock a super hard mode which will be awesome.
Dell Boi
Wait so 1GB and all you can play is a quick tie break?
tennisman123
Wait so 1GB and all you can play is a quick tie break? It's not always a quick tie break , I have had tie breaks last 15 mins You can play 2 different courts plus the intro's and 4 players
Dell Boi
Yeah I guess it's okay lol, I'm really bad though, how do you serve fast? D:
tennisman123
Yeah I guess it's okay lol, I'm really bad though, how do you serve fast? D: With the right analogue stick it seems quite knacky to hit decent serves . With Nadal im only getting 105 mph average serve but I tried playing as Federer and was getting 120 mph serves Best tip is play which ever difficulty level you like and keep getting match point and lose it on purpose than play the next point properly it makes the demo last longer . Also another tip this sounds crazy but try not to win the point play easy shots to let your opponent stay in the rally as long as possible and you can end up with 50 + shot rallies which helps you get used to the timing and controls very quick

Dell Boi
Cool Smash Court Tennis is my favourite tennis game ever lol Yeah it was fun lol. I played the Demo again, guess I probably will buy this, it's fun, but I'm still really bad at it Hopefully there are no trophies relating to hard mode The only way I could win on hard was playing Male vs Female , As soon as I tried vs a guy I got destroyed 1-7. Dell Boi
Damn, and I thought I was being amazingly smart when I played male versus female to finally bag a few wins. That's the only way I could do it lol, and even then the games were really tight if I did win. I think there are no difficulty trophies so I'd probably keep the game on normal while I get used to it. Frankeu
The demo was fun, you can play it in the same fashion as ts3, which is nice. It was not really hard though, trashed Nadal 7-1 on hard a few times with FedEX! The full version should be in my hands soon, cannot wait!
