dmmx32
Bioware stated that Mass Effect 3 will be the final installment in the Mass Effect Trilogy. The title was announced on December 11th at the at Spike’s 2010 Video Game Awards. There is no set date as to when Mass Effect 3 will be released, however Bioware has announced that they plan on releasing the game sometime “Holiday 2011.” In regards to the game’s release, Bioware is considering an “uber-collector’s edition” for Mass Effect 3 that will test fans’ loyalty to the trilogy. The special item in the collectors edition will be “very exclusive and pricey.” “Community Coordinator Chris Priestly used the working night vision goggles included in the ‘Prestige Edition’ of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as an example of the type of item they were looking for” (Via Wiki). Since December 11th, we have been able to dig up some more information pertaining to Mass Effect 3′s plot and gameplay. The plot summary for the game is as followed: Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth. The tone of the story is planned to be much darker, although Bioware still wants to keep a balance of humor in the mix. It is also confirmed that player’s choices will have much more of a significant impact on the game’s storyline. Because Mass Effect 3 is still in the early stages of development, gameplay details are still at a minimal. These are a few pointers that Bioware plans on improving on from Mass Effect 2: * Richer RPG features. * More combat options. * More complex enemies. Mining will also make a return in Mass Effect 3, however in an interview, Casey Hudson stated that Mining will not be “completely abandoned”. It seems as though Mining may not play as much of a role in Mass Effect 3 as it did in Mass Effect 2. “In an interview with PC Zone magazine in August 2010, Casey Hudson stated that Mass Effect 3 will continue, with adjustments, the approach of Mass Effect 2 by focusing on “an awesome sense of exploration, intense combat, a deep and non-linear story that’s affected by your actions, and rich customisation of your armour, weapons and appearance” instead of an approach where the player “(equips the) hero by sifting through an inventory of hundreds of miscellaneous items and spend hours fiddling with numerical statistics”, noting the “overwhelmingly positive” response Mass Effect 2 received for its approach.”(Via Wiki) Mass Effect 3 is still a pre-mature concept at the moment. More details on the game should be released as “Holiday 2011″ comes closer. dante_kinkade
I hope the story is alot better this time around with the second one being ok but not great. Also nice to hear the fact they will put more rpg elements into it and take out some of the mining because I had about 10X material needed at the end of the game and everything made.
