Blood_Runs_Cold
THANK GOD!!! Debunking rumors of a multiplayer component in Mass Effect 3, a BioWare forum moderator has confirmed that the holiday 2011 RPG is a single-player game. “Now that BioWare has officially announced Mass Effect 3 with their press release yesterday, I’m going back to my age-old thread closer here: Mass Effect 3 is a single-player game,” wrote BioWare forum moderator Pacifien on the BioWare forums. “Feel free to dissect the trailer in this thread, I suppose.” Mass Effect 3 was announced last weekend at the Video Game Awards in Los Angeles for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC Link: BioWare: Mass Effect 3 a “single-player game”
GodkingLeonidas
As it should be. Multiplayer ruins games. If you want multiplayer ask a developer to make a multiplayer only game. See how that goes.

R834
THANK GOD!!! Agreed. I thought this thread was complaining about the lack of multiplayer! <- People who think Mass Effect needs multiplayer But, totally agreed - Mass Effect wouldn't work with multiplayer. Snafuxion
Co-op Mass Effect or even split screen would be alot of fun. A single player game with a friend As for online ME shooter...no thanks.
BaldWombat
If we get some sort of multiplayer for this, and we may as Bioware did have a job listing for someone to work on multiplayer in the Mass Effect universe earlier this year, I would imagine that you would play as an Alliance marine on Earth during the battle to save Earth. Moving On
Yeah, this is one of those games that in theory could be a nice multiplayer, but it really doesn't need it. I'd rather the developers focus on making the game as brilliant as possible and don't worry about adding a multiplayer that will be forgotten when the next third person shooter multiplayer is released. joeyc138
As it should be. Multiplayer ruins games. If you want multiplayer ask a developer to make a multiplayer only game. See how that goes. It did fine with MAG. I agree that MP would ruin Mass Effect though. Thankfully Bioware has a little bit of common sense.
Hypotenusa
Thats good to know! Mass Effect is good only as single-player.
Dell Boi
I don't think Multiplayer would have ruined the game, taking your Shepard online would been really fun imo, expecially with the level of customisation. It would be something similar to MGO/Socom =D but I'm happy either way.
Lemegeton300
anyone who wants MP in Mass Effect 3 is a moron and should be beaten repeatedly.
crispywoof
That's great news, multiplayer would ruin the game for me.
TommyGun
I'm pleased about this too. I don't want my sweet, sweet RPGs marred by unnecessary multiplayer. I think too many games have added MP just to distract you from the fact they've been half-arsed about the single-player.
aleFH
We're better off without Multiplayer...What we get with Multiplayer in games that shouldn't have one? A glitchy game that looks like an unfinished one.
dante_kinkade
I find it funny anyone might have thought it to be true in anyway before, because a game like this having multiplayer makes no sense in any way, its just as insane as say silent hill having it. Dell Boi
How does it make no sense, it could easily work, I find it funny people giving it so much abuse as if would be game breaking at all, which it wouldn't. And unlike Silent Hill, the combat could potentially support online, minus the cover system, think Socom in space, instead of classes you'd be leveling powers, chose to be a biotic or a tech specifically. I'd say there is a lot of scope for online in Mass Effect, however, I'm not at all complaining that there isn't, if it means we get a phenominal single player experience it's more than worth the sacrifice. If it were there, it would prolly be you playing as a grunt on Earth during the invasion. You would have to pick your class and level up your abilities. The concept of it would work, but I will be happy if it isn't there. Let future games in the Mass Effect universe have multiplayer.
Angelwork
Thank God, indeed I would like to see more games within the Mass Effect universe in the future though, multiplayer or not, doesn't matter to me. I love the Mass Effect universe and I don't want BioWare to throw it away after ME3. Would love another setting within the universe, perhaps play another race or w/e.
